Episode 110 — Knights, Keary, Broncos, Blaize, Wahs, and More

[Music] here to discuss all things NRL and anything sports related please give a warm Aussie get day to the footy fanatic and America's own Cory Jackson in outside the sheds greetings salutations and welcome back to outside the sheds the show that keeps on giving and makes the smiles flow around the world I don't know what the heck that means anyway but shedheads what I do know is that round 21 has just been completed or was completed a few days ago and we're ready to dive back in to break this down welcome back to Outside The Sheds hope your week is going well shed heads I know mine is going um not too bad not too bad we've been talking to a few people that are kind of important in the world rugby league so that's kind of nice but I want to say something right now I I don't know if you feel the buzz but the ladies really kicked off the week strong uh I watched that Newcastle uh Sydney Rooster's match it had everything that you'd want in a Rugby League match uh the ladies play an incredible brand of football and I really wanted to start off the show by by commending the game and where it's going u in the nrlw and and really rugby league around the world uh we don't have much of it over here in the United States or not that I've seen but I'm really excited for the Vegas uh oh wait a second yes I will be in Vegas shede heads and we'll talk about that a little bit more but um I'm really excited to see this test match between the the you know the the Kangaroos and the English pomies it's going to be a great match I think we're going to see some incredible rugby league um for the ladies this year because I think there's going to be a lot of them fighting for positions to go to Vegas and who wouldn't want to go to the city of sin I just know that Jess urges and Isabelle Kelly better be there but that's just me but we'll divulge go into this a little bit deeper but incredible match uh all the drama that you'd want with the match and congratulations to the knights for somehow holding on and keeping their streak of 10 uh win at home but let's go into round 21 as you probably already know the shadad damus paying those house payments goes 5 for eight with his picks uh I thought I was really going to finish off seven for eight uh if the how should I say if the fins wouldn't have somehow found a way to lose to the Titans uh once again an incredible spray by Desi Hasler that Jaden Campbell has let the world know got the boys re kickstarted and got the Titans to to to get the car in drive if you know what I mean to finish out strong but let's start off with how the round started Warriors 28 tiger 16 Aden fua Blake showing why the move to Kela is such a big move for the Sharkies next season but he leads the W to a pival victory we're going to be talking about the W in their season of some things they they are not happy about but some things they should be incredibly proud of but they get the team going back in the win column some big additions coming back in for the W this week it looks like uh Chon nichel clarot is going to be back and it looks like Shawn Johnson's going to be back but I I'm I'm going to ask a question I can't believe I'm saying this but are you really better off with SJ playing the brain of footy that he's been playing this season compared to the most recent T tamarie Martin uh pairing with the man that does the Scorpion and if you don't know what that means uh look that up but I almost think the halves pairing right now is almost better because you get both guys running I know Tam Marie Martin doesn't run the ball too too too much but we haven't seen SJ attack the line much at all so it's going to be interesting going forward I know SJ has been penciled in that we're going to see him after that Achilles uh injury setback but I don't know if that's in Better standing for the Warriors going forward so we'll have to see but big victory uh again continuing the misery for the tiges another challenging week for them uh which we're going to go into in the 4020 but uh big victory the was try to keep a hold on Final possible aspirations to play some finals footy storm 32 eels 14 another team experiencing an an incredibly bad week but uh you know King gutho celebrating his 200th was great to see for the king but the storm I'm telling you papy and Hughes pin Howen and and Jerome Hughes who I really do I I don't think Jerome Hughes gets as much broke as a lot of halfbacks in the competition but those guys are playing some incredible football and again they're four points clear on top the Melbourne storm and I don't see them going anywhere I'm not going to say right now they're playing better than penrith because I do think the penrith Panthers are the best team in the competition especially with with a healthy Nathan clear but that still doesn't take away how well the storm have played and the Jerome Hughes flies under the radar week in and week out but a big victory and again more misery for the eels batt battling the Tigers for the wooden spoon and I don't know how that's going to culminate when it ends but I know that both teams have have taken a couple shots of The Chins which we're going to get into again during the 4020 Bulldogs 41 Broncos 16 up by six at the half the doggies were and they just come home strong I'm not going to go into great deail right now with this score because I want to go into a deeper dive into it in a few but wow you know you can't can't say anything more about the dogs of war playing some incredible footy but again the finals is this season is so incredible because we're everybody right now are patting the dogs in the back for how well they're playing and they're only a couple points ahead in the competition of falling out of the eight that is how close everything is right now when a lot of people are talking about them possibly being able to finish strong and finish in the top four so you know like I said these last five and six weeks is going to be crazy going down the stretch Cowboys 30 sharks 22 calf felt getting a treble uh I I always have a special place my heart for Kyle felt when me and Mrs shed Damas were at the Auckland nins on our honeymoon um I kind of just watched a lot of the players in interaction with the crowd and Kyle felt when he finished the match um not a huge star but there was some real strong Cowboy support and Kyle phel pulled his boots off walked over handed to a fan of the crowd uh talked to him for a little bit it wasn't just a here you go I'll see you later um and I'll always always think funly of that guy after watching his interaction with the crowd and never forgetting how important fans are uh to this competition but the cows win a key matchup and I said all along that I thought this was a dangerous dangerous team I think they're rounding into form I think like I said last week Chad Townson knowing that this is his last season up with with the cows that he's going to want to leave his stamp with North Queensland and I think that that that brand of foot is going to be even stronger now that talk is talking that possibly Valentine Holmes might be shown the door at the end of the season as well so a lot of players are in flux up in North Queensland a lot of players are in flux all around the competition but I think truthfully they will be putting it together and are going to have a strong strong push into the postseason roosters 34 seagulls 30 we talked about this match um last season think excuse me last week thinking that it was going to be the match of the round and it really lived up to it I don't know if we thought as it started that it was going to live up to it but what an incredible crazy up and down all over the board match that we watched this is the what match I really want to dive into with a deep dive but uh wow uh somehow the chooks do hold on but like I said I want to talk about this in more detail in a second pant 46 dragons 10 Nathan clear scoring the hattick for the Panthers just looking strong really embarrassing performance for St George I'm saying it was old boys uh day there was a sellout there was uh a lot of fans there a lot of fanfare um and they just they were never in the game St George and I I and I just I I find that so hard to believe because the dragons have played some pretty good football this season I think they're kind of ahead of the curve I don't know if anyone predicted that they were going to be in the top eight um when projection started at the beginning of the season because one week they showed some incredible fight they showed some incredible footy and then the next week they you're like well where did that team go and I think we watched that again this last week with the way that the Panthers just kind of toyed with them and just kind of threw them all around the park and um you know fiser Harris didn't even get to fit play most the game because of that groin injury and they still just kind of raged out St George so great victory for penrith again rounding into form and you have to say as long as Nathan clear stays healthy they are the favorites to win the competition Titans 21 Dolphins 14 down 14 and then finding a way the spray from Dez Hasler like I said Jaden Campbell broke Us in on and they just came home strong uh um and and it's it's really I I don't know this is a club I said a little while ago that I thought that the gold coach Titans could be a club that ends team seasons and gives them losses that could keep them out of finals so they do it to the fins this last week in round 21 and who do they match up with this coming week but the Brisbane Broncos a team right now that is to say that they're not playing finals you could probably say but they're definitely on the cusp of not playing finals fooy after going to the Grand Final last season and being 20 minutes away from winning it it just makes you really look in the mirror and I think we're going to find out a lot about the direction both these clubs are in and and they're going because I really if you look at it the Titans have won the last three in a row against the Bronx and and and there's so much pride up in Queensland about who the best Club is in Queensland and and a lot of people always just go that it's it's the it's the Broncos it's the Broncos but really besides that that Grand Final uh performance last year and making it to the Grand Final you'd have to say the North Queensland has been um you know the top of the Heap in in in in Queensland for a while so this is a huge huge match and I do think the Titans are going to push them I'm not going to give away my pick yet because it's not time but I would be scared if I was a brisan Broncos fan about taking on um go you know the goal Coast Titans this week so going to be interesting and then finally Raiders 32 rabbit to 12 Raiders making a huge huge statement um you'd have to say you know heck I pick the rabbit to um but again this is Sticky's Time of the Season um he gets these guys up no matter if they're a young Club an old club and and hey speaking of old boys Jordan rapana again this guy gets a double and and he's looking for another contract to go another year with with the Raiders the green machine and when you look how that guy's played it'd be hard not to say that Jordan rapon hasn't been the best player from Bell to Bell for the Raiders this season and you know I I I don't know I I think you got to put pen and paper you got to bring that guy back but they showed right now they're in the fight still and with a key key key matchup against the dogs coming in round 22 um again I don't put anything past the green machine making a late push and getting into the finals now I told you I wanted to go into a couple deep Dives about a couple teams couple games and the first one I've just got to say again that rooster SE Eagles match l lived up to the hype again it did not start the way that we thought because the chooks came out of there looking like John Force without the crash uh and just came barreling down the track right but again I just got this sneaking feeling that they just Manley just wouldn't go away they just wouldn't go away just wouldn't go away and I only have one question for you shedheads was Luke Keri wearing a manly SE Eagles jersey in the last quarter of that game because I've got to tell you something right now I have followed Luke K's career since he was back at South Sydney and I don't know if I've seen him play that bad of football and make that bad of reads in the entire time that I've seen him I know he went through a period of time with South syy where they called him in question and that's kind of how he ended up on the Sydney roosters but those two passes that he made that were you know intercepted and taken back for tries within a two-minute time span if if you know I don't call people I don't call characters into question I've seen some kind of shady stuff in the game uh and I'm not going to say names the 2013 Grand Final had some some kind of uniqueness that happened with with a player and I'm not going to say names on this show but that that was and and let's not even talk about the bad about a tattoo going on with Aaron Woods too um but Luke Keri is too much of a veteran to be making those types of passes and that close I'm saying this is a team right now that just has to kill some clock at that point in the game and they've got the game well in hand against Manley but that first pass that gets intercepted for a try just lets Manley believe that they're not out of this game and they were never you know even when they were down uh big early they never really faltered you know I don't know if it's because dce and and keeping that team calm but Manley and and tell me right now watching that game when I was actually booking uh my my tickets for for Vegas one of the young guys I was talking to uh he's a big rooster supporter right and he even said what I'm going to tell you right now if there was another 5 minutes on the clock I don't know if the roosters win this match and that is that is insane to think about but I think Manley makes the greatest comeback in sea eagles history and comes over the top of the roosters that's how bad and how shaky they were down towards the end they had 12 turnovers in the and and mistakes in the second half you can't you cannot win this competition playing that type of football you just cannot not when you're going up against your Melbourne storms I'm I'm saying you look at that score right now with the Melbourne game 3214 and it wasn't even that close and Bell a is losing his mind in the Press Box about bad plays that some guys have made on the field losing his mind you would have thought that the score was 14 that they were down instead of being up by 18 points again I'm not calling Robo into into question with this whatsoever I'm just saying for the strike for the talent that the Sydney roosters have they cannot make those types of errors and mistakes and and continue to be penalized the way they are I'm like Michael Jennings is out now for two more matches over a non-question hit by m to me that was just strong footy and you know when the bunker reviews it and still doesn't send the player off I don't know how you can give him two weeks personally after the fact um Judiciary you know even Graham Ansley said that that was not a sendoff offense so if that's not a sendoff a fence how are you going to give the guy a TW match ban for that that's the problem I have a little again and I'm I'm going off on a tangent right now but that's why the game right now that's the weakness of the game right now for the NRL it's just there's too many inconsistencies with it right with the with the bunker and with the Judiciary and and there's too many hands into the equation so anyway um an incredible match it was must C TV and if you didn't watch it try to find a replay of it because it had everything I do still stand about what I said last week though the chooks are not the same club with Joey Manu not in the side uh Manu is g to be back this week for the for the big vict the big match I almost said big victory big match uh in penth against the fins and I think you will see instantly that they they fire out with Joey Manu back because you know he wants to get into rear form going into the finals but incredible match again I don't know what was going on with Luke Keri uh don't want to call him in question especially now since he's going to France with his family to be with catlins next season but it was very very strange to see again him making those decisions instead of just holding on to the ball and doing kind of some smart plays to just run out the clock so now let's talk about another team everybody's talking about right now and a team that really put on a performance and that's the dogs of war the canterberry Bulldogs an incredible performance by them I don't I don't think when I was watching the pregame show I don't think one pundit picked the the dogs to win up in suncorp and I was one of them I after I watched Adam Reynolds play last week and then I hear that uh kryon is out uh I was like no way you know like I know they played some some really good football this year but there's no way the dogs are going up to sun Corp going to play in The Cauldron and beat the Broncos in a must-win game for the Brisbane Broncos I just I didn't see it I didn't feel it um and I just know how important Stephen kryon is to that club well let's just put it to you this way the Canterbury Bulldogs beat to their own drum cuz Cameron Caldo had those boys playing and I and I and I know I'm jumping ahead on this but when was the last time we've seen a club go up to sun Corp stadium and you could hear the opposite team's fan base cheering the team on and that was a very loud rock as Bulldogs chant that was going through sun Corp Stadium we all know that the Bulldogs have some of the most loyal fans in the competition we know that they may be a tad crazy but they support that club and that club has had some really dire and dark times recently uh I know that if you're a bulldog supporter this season you've been waiting for it for a while and it's probably the best Christmas present anyone can give you but they did something I don't think anybody saw happening um and for a Brisbane Club that has to win or had to win six of its last seven matches to really have a chance they can't lose again for the rest of the the rest of the competition now they can't they cannot lose another match that's why I think they're in trouble because I think Gold Coast is really going to push him this week but 16 to 10 at half the dogs are up I still actually felt that Brisbane I don't want to say had him where they wanted him but I still was not concerned with my pick because I just thought you know the Broncos were going to come out in the second half know it's on the line Kev was going to get him fired up and they were going to they were going to move it on and that just didn't happen um even with even the punter said the same thing um but somebody forgot to tell the dogs and that's all that matters and that to me I go over this over and over and over and over again you can pick you can look on paper you can do all the Cyber metrics that you want you cannot measure a team's heart and that's what computers will never get down a A team's heart and belief is better than any type of computer program that you have and that's what makes humans different than any other creature on this planet so that's what we watch right there the celebration after that Victory with the with the with the dogs all kind of making fun of the Brisbane fans SE cheering celebration shows you they have a mentality it's us against the world and some dogs supporters will tell you right now that's what they always feel it's it's them against the world but shark you know I'm saying Conor Tracy finally getting that nod in the fullback position is is is in Spades showing that cam Faldo knows what he's doing with that club I'm saying you know he he's probably playing some of his best football that he's ever played because when he played at canolo they kept playing him on the wing a little bit in the Hales sometimes in the fullback and he wasn't going to beat out Bubba but he has found his Mark he you know he he he played an incredible second half um it was just and then let's not even talk about Jacob carass what about that one-handed stick that he did to bring it in on on the Reedman kick just great footy they played like they had house money like they were meant to lose the game and we're just going to go out there and throw down the line and that was different because one of the things that's made this club so strong this season is Cameron Caldo is all about the defense all about the defense I'm saying that's what he non-stop got into the penrith players when he was at penrith and really working on the defensive side of the ball that he was just that is where we're that's what we do that's what we're going to be known of they they have a swarming tackling style they swarm to the ball uh you're usually they'll make mistakes occasionally sure but they swarm and they have that pack mentality which you watch clubs that are really there for one another um and I and I'm going to come down to something and I know that you know it it's not that it's not the elephant in the room but that penrith Swagger is starting to kind of fester into the you know the Bulldogs Camp from Caldo to to kryon um it just they have a Swagger about them and and like I said I was really concerned I was I was not on the Cameron Caldo train after they the performance they had last year you know you just didn't know if that was just a Wonder kid kind of like baz was um you know when he took over Manley you just I just didn't know and you know you can be the greatest sporting mind in the world it doesn't mean you're going to be a great coach right but the moment that I saw that kryon believed in him so much that he signed with the dogs to leave penrith I instantly believed that the dogs were going to only go in an upway trajectory I will tell you right now Stephen kon's one of the biggest winners the game has seen for a while he's a big game performer he has a way of and I don't think he's a huge huge talker but he shows his players that he's going to give everything I think we all remember that that picture when his ear got split in half it's one of the most gruesome pictures I've ever seen and why he's still to this day wears a headgear all the time but he just will leave it all out there and I think that the dogs and moving him to Captain uh the you know that move from Caldo was genius and the dogs you know I would not be surprised a lot of people have picked them to finish in the top four I would not be surprised they've got a little bit of a a little bit of a tough run home but the way that they're playing and the belief they have you just have to think that they're going the in in the right direction now I want to talk about another player with the Bulldogs that I think does not get the the pub that he deserves and that is that halves combination between Burton and ston seon was a castoff from the Gold Coast Titans all right that's the second cast off from the Gold Coast Titans that um they're probably looking at and going wow did we really let that happen because of the battle that they've had trying to get the Hales pairings I know right now Jaden Campbell is making a lot of Gold Coast fans kind of forget this but they lost two big halves uh recently one going down to the capital and one they just cast off and and he just luckily found a contract with the dogs and that's and that's Toby ston but this has pairing between seon and Burton to me is perfect because it allows Burton to run and seon to kick the ball around and kind of control it I know everybody is talking about the Matty Burton bomb and that's great but seon is a guy that that really is structured and kind of lets that that team move around I heard I heard brathan AA say this week that he was like well may maybe maybe maybe Mitchell Moses will try to get out of his contract with um with the eels because of all the influx that's happening right now but I'm going to tell you right now right when I started to look at the numbers since he became the full-time halfback with the dogs the dogs are 6-2 with sexon in this half pairing with Burton six and two and if you look when that happened when he got in there they were kind of an up and down Club they were having some problems the you know they just didn't look 100% you know the big talk was should we move should we move Matty Burton to the centers there was just a lot of talk like that but since seon has got in it they it the transition has been incredible the way that they've played and I think he's taken a lot of pressure off of Matty Burton with his kicking game even though you'll still put up a big bomb at the end of the set occasionally seon just lets the balance happen and that is huge and I will tell you right now that move of bringing sex in the halves to me is one of the major factors of why the dogs are at where they are right now um I do think that they're going to finish and we're going to see dogs the dogs of war in the finals this year but that victory that we just saw last week to me is exactly why this team is so so dangerous to go in there with no one picking you and to perform the way they did it suncorp uh is is is off the charts and it's something that if you're a dogs fan I know that you're very very proud of so up to the dogs of war now as we go into the 4020 uh this is uh I don't want to say dangerous territory we're getting ready to talk about but I think for the Integrity of the game it's a huge huge thing that we need to tip and to talk about and that is the slippery slope that is contracts in the NRL I have told you guys probably since day one of this podcast I cannot stand the way the n does not use the off seon for contracts contract negotiations signing periods all this stuff I know that there's the big November 1st signing period I know that but of any organization that I follow any League that I follow the NRL is through the roof with contract negotiations people signing before their contracts and and it drives me insane because how can you have a guy playing at the top of his game when he's already picturing himself in another Jersey the next season it it's it's a flawed Concept in my mind it's a big big time flawed concept all right so let's talk why we're talking about this right now because at the beginning of the week Rumblings came out of the foot of the Blue Mountains that Brian T was not happy with this contract and that there are teams that are kind of poking around to see if they could possibly get Brian Tahoe out of penrith Brian Tahoe right now is on 650,000 all right we already know that he has um very much been underpaid we already know that he deserves a lot more and the problem that you have and this is something else that the league has been trying to address and that is um that these big time players come together for state of origin right and they talk about everything they talk about contracts they talk about how much they're being paid blah blah blah blah blah and then all of a sudden these guys get to come back a guy like Brian Tahoe and he looks how he's nowhere close to being paid the type of money he thinks he deserves to be paid okay I totally understand that and I totally understand that the NFL uh the NBA that that players get their contracts rework blah blah blah blah blah but we're starting to see more and more and more and more and more and more in the NRL that that players are just playing their hand but the thing that I have to ask you is isn't that up to their agents and if they think their contract is so bad why are they signing it money's always going to be moved if you look right now I think what the last time I checked Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs the quarterback the man is the I think the numbers six rate rated uh quarterback MoneyWise in the competition number six he's the best right now he's the closest guy that we have that's going to ever probably compete against the numbers that Tom Brady put up with the Patriots and with the bucks right easily but Mahomes is some people say he's already better than Brady I'm going to say arm talent wise he is maybe not as clutch yet because he doesn't have as many rings but a lot of people feel that Patrick Mahomes is as good of a quarterback as Tom Brady and he is easily as good of a quarterback is was as Tom Brady at the same exact age all right great but momes isn't coming out every year and trying to change his contract to say I I need to be number one always right and that's what I think is being lost right now in the NRL is that the these guys are all fighting for money now again we know we're not talking the $55 million a year that some of these guys are talking about and some of these quarterbacks are being paid those contracts are a fraction of what some of these big-time col you know quarterbacks are making the NFL but a contract's a contract and I think when we start getting to the to the realm of saying I don't like my contract anymore I want to change it it gives no stability to clubs and organizations none and this also works to me with the way that some of this stuff is going down all around I'm saying Wayne Bennett right now let's go over something Wayne Bennett right now is coaching the Dolphins but he's already on contract next season for the South Sydney rabitos and and and and a lot of people are talking behind the scenes that Wayne is already trying to set up his club for next season and that there's not a move that South Sydney is making right now without Wayne the nod saying I agree with that that's a good move go with that so much so toita pangai Jr is saying is said to be following Wayne to South Sydney this is the same to Vita pangai Jr who said he hates Sydney his parents moved out of Sydney when he was 12 and also said he would never live back in Sydney again but all right maybe if Wayne's going there I'm changing my mind now Wayne said that he would never ever ever ever get in the way of a club if the Dolphins were looking to sign a player that he would not get in the way of making that happen for the Dolphins right well the big talk is that the Dolphins want to resign to Vita pangy Jr and that he's still following Wayne so I don't know who you're going to believe in that situation so there's Wayne there's Trent Barrett I know Trent Barrett has been handed the keys of the vehicle right now because of you know the the moving on the coach but Trent Barrett has already been told with Jason rles coming in next season that his services are no longer needed with the PMA eels and guess what he just signed a contract to go up to coach with the brisman Broncos next season and that's still with five to six weeks left in the NRL season he's already got his contract signed up to coach for another club next year Trent Zack LX Zack LX another player still on contract says he doesn't like his contract doesn't want to play on the wing and he pushes his way out gets his contract signed with a Paramount eels for next season but he's still but this was early on I'm like we still had more of than half the season so the play and he'd already signed another contract to play with another club now Zack Lomax has d himself Justice by having an in an incredible origin series and been probably arguably one of the best players for the dragons this year but again how how are you able to give 100% when your mind's in another place drum Lui has been playing the entire season with penrith knowing that he's going to be a tiger next season I I don't understand it I don't think that it's it's healthy um and it's probably in my mind the worst thing for rugby league out there that's number one bunker number two but we we're not going to go into the bunker today but it it to me is is something crazy and you know now you hear all these Rumblings that maybe the tigers are going to come after him since he's really close with Jerome Lui you know Lui was the best man at his wedding we all know that uh app's there in the in the spine to um and there's talk that the Tigers would pay him 900 950,000 a year but again a contract to me is a contract and when you start going in there and changing that and moving that and saying you don't like that I think we miss it I think we miss what this game can be and what this game should be so anyway uh that's where I stand on that but we'll have to see um they say there's some big stuff probably going to come down maybe on Friday about some more updates about what Brian Tahoe is decided to do now speaking on the negotiations front two big young players gave some notices to their clubs this last week or just you know this last few days that have been some real shots to the chin uh Blaze Tangi and then Stefano I always say this name wrong uh uanu right we'll just call him for Stefano from this point forward because I don't like butchering players names but the stano Stefano and blae both told their clubs that they are not going to resign and they are looking to be moved on uh after this season now I think people have known for the last few weeks that stano was already out the door at the West Tigers I think we've known that it's Now official the question is where Stefano is going to go Stefano has been linked early on that he was going to go down and play with the Melbourne storm and was looking to sign with with Craig Bellamy um but again then you start looking at would that be a smart move because if I'm a player and I go to Melbourne I want to play Under belly ache right belly ache is doing year-by-year contracts right now with the Melbourne storm and I would not want to sign well maybe I would because nobody's paying attention to contracts anymore but I would be really really careful signing a long-term deal with Melbourne when I don't know how long belly 's going to stay down there and then the other team that is making a huge push with a lot of people think is the front runner for stfo services and that is the Canterbury bulldogs and that could be a destructive blow to the competition if Stefano makes it um to Belmore and plays for Caldo with the dogs that that would be a huge coup for the Canterbury bulldogs so we'll have to wait and to see what goes on there but right now they say the leading team in club right now to getting Stefano services are the Canterbury bulldogs so once again Gus doing gust things now the The Blaze Tangi thing is even more confusing because they there were big big talk that he was you know on the fence jumping back and forth that you know his agent was you know kind of wrangling that he wants to play this position he wants to play this position um that's when the whole talk started with with gutho who should be playing the fullbacks with the eels blah blah blah blah blah well Tang has now come out and saying he's done he doesn't want to be with the Pama eels after this season that he you know wants to hit the bricks wants to go and now a gig GC move has just been going down and they're saying that this is a done deal already that it's going to be a three-year deal for blae to go to the foot of the Blue Mountains and probably in the near future being the in the halves pairing with Nathan clear what a a what a huge get if this goes down the way everyone's thinking it's going to the blaze Tangi could be sign could be in the halves with Nathan clear going forward because I think a lot of people thought that that that Jerome blueee um and and and Nathan clear has partnership with so perfect because Nathan was the the the Iceman the Assassin and then you got the the Larken the the wild card and Jerome Lui being able to bounce jump around and really I love Lui but what better get for the Panthers if they can make this happen and put him in there I know Schneider's been playing in halves a little bit this year too but but let's be honest bla Tang is Worlds above Schneider with what he has and what he brings to the table skill-wise and athletically um again we've got some these moves are going to put the ball in motion about players movement and the big talk right now is again how the parata eels have lost their top three Juniors now um that now you know Mitchell Moses has a clause in his contract ra that he can get out of it uh not I don't think next season but the season after and that he wouldd be looking to possibly move um bad bad times Dom I'm sorry I'm having to bring this up I know honesty is what we try to do here on outside the sheds but these are some dark dark times and moments for the blue and gold right now so um again penrith is just going to do penri things and they keep making moves that are going to keep them on top they lose players they reload um so huge mov huge developments in that transactions market now I think you all know I have a fness of my heart shed heads for the New Zealand Warriors and I know the season has not been what a lot of w fans were hoping it was going to be but that has not stopped W Nation Warriors Nation from showing up for their Club because they just got done doing something that's never been done before and that is the New Zealand Warriors the W are the first Club in NRL history to sell out every home game that's 10 games and then they even sold out the game down in Christ Church as well that is huge we're talking a country that is so much all black Central Rugby Union is in their blood in their core and to do something that a lot of people think is never been done in any sporting event in New Zealand having a club do what they just did shows you the way the league is trending in New Zealand so much so that the New Zealand Warriors right now the W are leading in ticket sales of all the clubs that are going to Vegas next year that is incredible stuff because they're not actually following off of an incredible season right now with the Warriors because it's been up and down to say it the least but the fan base has come in in droves for the New Zealand Warriors and if you think about this and you look at these numbers as well 20 for season 23 and 24 the Warriors have sold out 20 of their 25 home games that's you know and I don't think they're all there just to see Tiffany sammon do sideline coverage either not that that's a bad thing but I'm just saying this is some this is some incredible stuff that's going on with the was and I think we all know the type of rugby player that comes out of New Zealand and that's just not Benji Marshall coming out of fatani all right let's let's not even talk about that but awesome news awesome news I cannot wait to be in Vegas with the w Nation this coming year uh it's going to be awesome and it's something that I'm very very much looking forward to now I'm going to go off the cuff really quick we don't really do outside the bubble as much uh we'll probably do be doing a little bit more of that during this off season in a few weeks but I cannot do this podcast without commending the USA Women's sevens team getting the bronze medal by beating Australia at the death for a 1412 Victory to bring home the bronze and bring home the first rugby league sevens medal rugby medal it's been a hundred years since the new the the USA has done anything in rugby so it's something we're very very proud of I still have no idea how you go from from one end of the field to the other end with time almost expiring but again that is why we watch the games so congratulations to the female rugby league sevens team for the USA getting the bronze medal and breaking the metal drought in rugby now we know that we went five for eight in picks last week let's go into round 22 we start off with a game I know all of us cannot wait to see the Cowboys versus the Tigers now the crazy thing is they're one and 10 and they their last 10 matches excuse me I guess 11 matches going down to lart but I just know that they have not played well in lart the cows but that's not going to change me folks you're not going to persuade me from from seeing who we're talking about I'm taking the cows on the Thursday night to kick off the round over the Tigers Friday eels versus the Warriors again I told you Chan is back SJ is back uh I still keep RTS in the in the fullback position that's me but I don't care about any of that with the turmoil that's going on uh with the blue and gold I'm taking the was to beat the paramedic eels then we finish out Friday night in Perth roosters versus the Dolphins I am still going with the chooks Joey Manu is back I think I would not want to be uh in practice with the chooks this week because I don't think Robos got some pleasant things to say how they almost lost that last game that is to be determined but again I'm taking the roosters over the fins who are really they're they're really gambling right now because they're in eighth position right now they can't lose many more matches and still make the finals Saturday Broncos versus the Titans I kind of Hemm it hard earlier about this about this big Queensland Derby but I'm going to take the Titans over the Broncos I just really think the Gold Coast Titans are playing some incredible footage right now and I just see them somehow getting the Victory and making it four in a row over the Broncos dragons versus the storm uh I don't care how civil the stor the the uh dragons have been uh the storm are going to do storm things and this match is taking place down in Melbourne I do not see the storm doing anything but making an example out of St George I've got the storm rabido versus the Sharks uh I I know that Trella is not back again uh and and the and the the wos of of the beach the beach Sprinter and his kicking game uh I'm going to go with the sharks I know there's been some Rumblings that that niiko hindes might be trying to look to leave uh kenola I hope that's not the case but I am taking the Sharks over the rabitos Sunday Knights versus the Panthers Jackson Hastings has been dropped uh for this week by the knights and they're playing Phoenix Crossland um in the halves in his place I don't know who you possibly could put in Jackson Hastings place that's going to help them beat the Panthers no way I got the I got the boys from the foot of the Blue Mountains beating the knights and finally Raiders versus the Bulldogs which to me might possibly be the match of the round I'm going to pull the I'm calling for the upset I've got the Raiders beating the Bulldogs that's right after all I talked about about 20 minutes ago I am still going with the Raiders and stickies boys somehow pulling the upset and beating the dogs now when I look at my gun of the round it was it was really really tough because you had Connor Tracy you had Kyle felt both having incredible matches but when you look at the numbers and when you look the way that he played there's no way that I can pick anybody besides Nathan clear listen to these numbers three tries seven for eight on conversions 242 running meters one line break two line break assists two try assists five tackle breaks 15 tackles made and 232 kicking meters shed heads there is wow and then there's Iceman Nathan clear because even with that caterpillar on his upper lip this guy is playing some incred footy and probably once again still The Benchmark in the competition not even close so I've got Nathan clear the Iceman being our
