gets the blood boiling quite like a rivalry game barbs shots trash talk things that go on throughout the week will now all be settled on this field as we'll see a squad Big 10 the Michigan State Spartans taking on the ninth ranked team in the land the Michigan Wolverine for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys can't wait to get this one started and the Spartans will kick it away to start on the run from inside his own five smashes through the tackle he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 so this last year about how Michigan is the program in the state they are the brand and migan state has heard that Palmer a ton and that's just been a narrative that we've heard throughout the years too and it's something that people love talking about in an arbor is that they are the dominant team and it's not even close in the Sin State rival Michigan State's got to do something to flip the script if they want their program to reach the consistency that Michigan has they've got to recruit veterans and a big way in doing that is winning this game those stay will be Champion so said Bo shim the football guys over a 100 yards rushing with that last carry now we knew coming into this game today they had to get the running game going they they had to be able to turn around hand it off and get positive yards set themselves up into manageable third down situations we've seen them at any area in the field so far in this one have success in the running game they'll keep that up until this defense proves they can stop it at the 40 there he goes he's brought down but not before they pick up the big first down that Maze and blue offense is just churning out first down after first down yeah and it's maze in blue but they're turning them black BL re just pound away at the ground game the physical toll you can tell they're not ready to meet Michigan's physicality that better change quick the Wolverines come to the line with a fresh set of downs might as well give it to him again little too soft in that run defense he picks up four to the 32 after the productive first down play it's second and six power football with the Run he works his way down to the 30 yd line before he stopped a gain of three and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs looking for a man it's orgy he's going to let one fly down the middle and this is going to be incomplete on third down well third and short in field goal range they dial a pass play quarterback was trying to get through his progressions there was just simply nobody open couldn't make an accurate enough throw ball Falls incomplete Now setting up a big decision here on fourth down now on fourth down here comes the field goal team and there is a degree of difficulty with this one at 47 y from the right hatch a delay of game penalty is the last thing you want with this part of the field and on fourth down they'll try to salvage the drive with a field goal and that is no good missed the field goal missed a chance to make it a three possession game but still a 14 point lead guys [Applause] make iten from the shotgun the hand off to the back and he's able to find a little bit of Running Room before they get him down they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three they give it to him again at the 35 he's open oh look out touchdown Wolverine he broke away from the defense and they couldn't catch it what an explosive eruption into the End Zone by this running back and this back does it a lot that he makes big plays when you can make big plays like this it makes everybody's job easier oh we can play action oh we can throw it but it starts with the Run game and guys setting everything up [Applause] they'll go to the ground that Midfield he's got room oh look out there he goes and he rolls into the house T down Michigan and to have a rushing touchdown of that type of yardage you've got to be able to make something Miss it's one thing to get into the second level but can you make that last Defender Miss and you saw it on that play once he was in the clear with his speed he was gone [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] go using his legs it's Edward got room at the 35 and he's running in the open and there they go again with another huge gain on the ground he's finally run out of [Applause] bounds they used a chunk play across Midfield and they've got it first and 10 just outside the 40 [Applause] right back to the well crosses the 30 he got away and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one they're down to the 2 first and 10 [Music] [Applause] the give to the single back running it in the Red Zone imposing their will and picking up five down to the 15 it's the emmo of this offense and they really put a lot on the offensive line to go out and really try and establish their dominance and their assertiveness and they've done a good job of that early in this game running the football wants to throw it's orgy into the end zone oh and it's picked off threw it right into the teeth of double coverage and I tell you what when defenses Play Zone all eyes are on the quarterback you have a Zone to drop [Applause] to come comes out throwing on first down he makes the catch at the end zone touchdown Wolverine that is exactly what most offenses will do big momentum play my defense creates a turnover I'm being aggressive I'm going for the big score the big play down the field they get rewarded they get the big passing touchdown [Applause] [Music] single single used the play fake now to throw going for it all falls incomplete and he did everything perfectly except catch the football second down coming oh and that's missed opportunity for the offense you get the matchup you want you take the shot the play is there to be made for a touchdown and drops it now on second down after the incompletion go he's looking to throw oh what a spectacular layout and catch man I I love those guys that are willing to put their body on the line and he does it right here man just lay out that Ball's coming in you can see it from several yards out making that play laying out keeping the football from touching the turf great concentration great effort by the receiver on first down from the 13 yd line looking downfield it's ory and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 you want to change some of this bad luck you've had so far get after the quarterback and get his butt on the ground nice job by the defense this game ain't over it's still the first half this is a good start that sack gets this offense behind the chains it's second down he's looking to throw a shot toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown Michigan the great thing about spreading a defense out I can see where the blitz is coming from I can see where they're weak I can see my matchups nice job by the offense spreading them out taking advantage of their matchup and getting in for the score [Applause] it's one thing to have a rivalry game but when you have two longtime foes separated 65 miles battling for a prize like the Paul bunion trophy you know emotions tend to run High and it's been a clinic in fundamental defensive football both teams have been Relentless and ball Hawking refusing to give an inch this is the kind of slugfest that real football fans love crushing tackles and dudes flying fourth quarter when you got to run the ball you go back to the runs that you have the most confidence in that you can execute in your sleep and they do it right there ripping off seven yards he's got it out to the 37 after gaining five this gu been special today coming into this one they thought they had an opportunity really to get him going running the football and he is delivered you've seen the speed the vision his ability to break tackles well over rushing yards in this game and that's why they have a nice lead here L man this this is a punch to the gut when you know you're losing and you know you got to good stop and you know they're going to run the football and they still run the football down your throat it's been that kind of day for this defense and the Wolverines have it with a first and 10 all [Applause] right here's this offense with a fresh set of downs get ready on the gun running back gets to give and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up another good run man he has been picking up yards in bunches today Jesse showing off all the skills and he's showing no signs of slowing down David this guy just gets better as the game goes on he is a beast they'll snap this one from the 30 on First and 10 they'll run it and he finds Some solid face makes a nice game before the defense is able to stop him and this is exactly where you want to be as an offensive coordinator like when you've got the lead late in the football game just run the football eat the clock man they've put a good day together they they they've had a they've had their way with this defense a lot of positive things to point you this is one of those weeks when you watch tape it's going to be really fun to watch not like when you get beat up a lot of big plays from this offense they get him down but this offense is set up first and goal from the nine there's really no secret to it David when this guy's running well this offense is so hard to stop it opens up everything and he's having a great day showing you a little bit of everything and this offense has got it rolling on the ground a first down run in the Red Zone touchdown Michigan and the puming has started and this always is the debate of where you fall it's your job to stop me [Applause] right they'll try the Run able to SC three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven and the defense is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of but you know talking to the coaches coming into the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great day it's really easy to get caught up in the emotion of a rivalry game we did and certainly this was a huge win yeah and you started you circled it you were ready for this team this is this is
