Spanish Accents Broken Down By A Latino Honduras Bolivia Paraguay and Ecuador

quite magical places now these accents are hard and even within each country there is a lot of variety so if i don't get you a hundred percent right please be nice and teach us in the comments below Honduras and we're gonna get started with honduras and as soon as i hear honduras i can hear punta music something and i want to dance how do you guys learn that thing people that's how we call people from honduras have a very particular way of speaking overall i would say that their accent is very clear and standard and easy to understand they however have some unique things about them so for example they have a lot of voceo the use of vos instead of two so when they know somebody then when they are familiar with somebody they use boss como estas vos another particular thing is that they drop s's and they replace them with the sound of h in english or j in spanish so comes but after hours of listening to the honduran accent i couldn't find any crazy like particularities of this accent they are very very clear speakers maybe even more clear than colombians what am i saying what am i saying what am i saying we all know that we colombians are the most clear speakers what makes the catracho accent very particular is the expressions that they have a lot of these expressions start with the letter ch so let's see some of the expressions that my friend fanny from honduras senmi so we have chuco which is very chepos these are the cups chingo is when a piece of clothing is too small for you we have estacio real which is tenermia that's too many ch champlain i thought the chapel in colorado was from mexico not honduras and before we move on a fun fact about honduras did you know that honduras has the second largest reef barrier in the world after the great reef barrier in australia it's mind-blowing they share it with other countries but it's still pretty cool and unique for this small country Bolivia and now we move to bolivia the andean country i wish i could places that i got in bolivia but i can never make it to make a sound can you guys teach me how before talking about the accent of bolivia i have to tell you that when people ask me what was my favorite place to visit in south america without a doubt i say bolivia that was such a unique place i mean at times i was in salt deserts that received just a little bit of rain that didn't evaporate and made it like a whole mirror of the planet they also had red lakes beautiful landscapes that really look like mars that was an experience from another world you bolivians have a beautiful country bolivia has a wide variety of regional accents that are actually very hard for the foreign ear to distinguish but if i would say two things about bolivian accent is that is characterized by the influence of the indigenous languages like quechua and aymara and also their unique expressions in fact a big percentage of bolivian do have quechua mata and other languages as their main language and sometimes spanish is their second language and that shows however these native languages have sometimes influenced the spanish expressions that they have and some example expressions that come from these native languages are kensha which is to have bad luck chucky which is to be hangover i really like that one chucky i hope i promise pronouncing it well please comment below if you know how to pronounce this better and my personal favorite is coroton which is idiot and it just sounds like a good way to call somebody who's idiot shut up you coroton oh coroton besides these indigenous expressions they also have other very particular expressions like for example kohudo which is another way of saying idiot here between us you can tell the greatness of a civilization by how many ways they can call somebody an idiot and then we have the legendary yeah yeah yeah am i saying that right if you go to la paz you're going to hear this all the time you go on public transportation and you hear yeah yeah yeah uh bolivians please help me out here what does it mean does it mean just now yeah and now let's talk about Paraguay paraguay when i think of paraguay i think of soccer because for some reason when i was growing up para wayans always beat colombia and that made me really mad we'll get you back paraguayans no a lot of people know so much about paraguay but it is a fascinating play in fact it's one of the only countries where most of the population is almost completely bilingual it is said that 90 of people can speak fluently in spanish and warani and the mix is evident more than bolivians and their native languages in paraguay they mix warani and spanish all the time this way of speaking is called jopara and it's similar how in the united states we call spanglish to like the way latinos that have migrated to this country sometimes speak switching back and forth between english and spanish mixing some words mixing expressions for example they would say when asking where is the version and this is totally not understandable for spanish speakers a haihu paraguay a haihou paraguay if you want to learn more about the expressions of jopara i'm going to include a link below with a youtuber that explains some common expressions in that language or that mix of languages in terms of the intonation that paraguayans have uh they have a lot of the similar rhythm that argentinians do so they use voss they use centis as das very much like the southern cone of latin america but they have first of all a different intonation that is kind of like i don't know and maybe comes from guani yeah i would say that to me they sound like an argentina that has spent a lot of time overseas and maybe forgot a little bit how to speak the way argentinians speak so they have that similar intonation but their their words and sounds are a little bit different like for example the double r in paraguay is in between normal spanish speakers that go like ra and americans they go like rah and it's like something in between like car raw car a little bit different you notice a little bit and the double l and the y in argentina is a sha in mexico it's a yeah in paraguay they say ja i would say similar to people in bogota colombia again paraguayans correct me if i'm wrong i also wanted to mention a fascinating fact about paraguay that i had no idea so during the mid 1800s there was this ginormous war in which three nations got together to fight against paraguay brazil argentina and uruguay and they defeated paraguay during this war it is estimated that paraguay lost 60 percent of their population and almost 90 percent of the males these statistics are very contentious however it is said that after the war paraguay had to change a lot of their policies in immigration and dating to repopulate themselves during the times after the war polygamy was way more common and accepted and it also pushed them to promote immigration from europe which made paraguay one of the countries with most people of european descent in latin america last but not least we Ecuador moved to ecuador the belly button of the world this tiny country that is a biodiverse powerhouse let's check it out ecuador is not only diverse in species of animals birds and everything else they also have a wide diversity of accents which is very impressive for being such a small place but the main accents i'm going to talk about today are the kitena the one from quito and the guayako the one from guayaquil for guayakos even though they're in the pacific they sound very similar to a lot of people from the caribbean so they dropped their esses and made them into jace and they also speak very fast the coastal influence is also important in their personality traits it's said that guayaquils are much more open relaxed and they have more fun than people in the mountains it is the same in colombia people from bogota are famous for being cold and more shy people from the coast are like jokers and they have fun all the time of course these are stereotypes they are of course known for their unique expressions like any coastal people like for example kelampara when something is not good but maybe not terrible like i cannot go out this friday then we also have ketrip and this is like what the and we also have sabroso and that's when somebody thinks they are too cool they are sabros that guy is sabroso because they think they are too cool now cuteness are very different they do pronounce their s as they pronounce all of their words clearly and they split speak a little bit slower they have a tendency of raising the tone at the end of their sentences making it like it's a question so estas that's a question that's another question what is it am i okay i'm sure i'm not doing this right like colombians they use the diminutive in excess so they add ito and eta to everything to make it smaller and less shocking [Music] graciasitas they also use some expressions in english but not the same way they are used in the united states so for example they use full all the time like to put emphasis on things so for example this is really cool or estos full malo full malo no this is not really good another one that i found very curious is the use of man so use man for both guys and girls which makes it super confusing with impatica wait is it a girl or a guy una man but the most characteristic thing of the kittenio accent and something that the guayakos made fun of all the time is that sometimes they are the f at the end of words and sentences of Outro there you have it paraguay ecuador honduras and bolivia for countries that are not very often talked about but they are amazing fascinating and of course super welcoming our community i'm doing this video with
