I was born in Gary Indiana on August 29th 1958 I was the eth of 10 children in a working class African-American family my father Joe Jackson was a steel worker and my mother Katherine Jackson was a Jehovah's Witness I started singing and dancing at a young age and my father formed the Jackson fi a family group that included me and my for brothers we released our first album Dana Ross presents the Jackson 5 in 1969 the album was a huge success and we quickly became one of the most popular groups in the world I released my first solo album got to be there in 1972 the album was a moderate success but it wasn't until 1979 that I truly broke out as a solo artist with the release of the album off the- wall off-the-wall was a critical and Commercial Success and it established me as a major force in pop music my next album Thriller was released in 1982 and was an even bigger success my personal life was often in the Spotlight I married twice and had three children I also faced numerous controversies including allegations of child sexual abuse which I deny I died on June 25th 2009 at the age of 50 from aute peral and Ben zodius being intoxication I was a complex and controversial figure but there is no doubt that I was one of the most influential artists of all time my music and Artistry continue to inspire and entertain people around the world
