Wear it Purple Day with Georgie Calder

[Music] my name is Georgia Calder my pronouns are they she and I am part of the 2024 intern uh cohort and I'm working in N Services I think as a member of the LGBT iqa community as well as a person with disability I understand how difficult it could be sometimes being proud of who you are when it's not normal or accepted and I think diversity inclusion means that I get to be glad that I am the way I am so wear a purple day is a day that celebrates um and supports the LGBT iqa youth of Australia and it's now go on global as well and it's about supporting them uplifting them and just also bringing awareness to some of the struggles that they deal with I think the easiest way is to wear purple I don't have any purple clothes and I'm very big on trying to reduce my consumption this year so instead I dive my hair purple and that's the way that I'm going to wear a purple for wear a purple thing but if you have a purple purple drink bottle you have a purple phone case really anything just to show your support I really hope that people can take away that support really matters and it has a really big impact on a lot of people and that even though we've had a lot of good change in the past couple years there's still a long way to go especially in terms of health and working at New South Wales Health it's really important to me that we uplift and get that support to those people I am a cat person yeah I don't have the energy to keep up with the dog it's like a toddlet that licks you I'd rather a cat that sleeps most of the day I was always fascinated by um professional MERS in ancient history where they would just hire people to go and priet funerals I feel like that would be a really fun job to do for a day to just be so extra about it I think I cry very easily so I think I would really do well at that if it wasn't for my wife I definitely wouldn't be as proud of myself as I am today but
