just about ready to roll and getting to start Jack flarity and singy that may be his name but the strikeout is his game well boo I can tell you've been working on that one but yes you are right this guy strike out per nine over 11 I mean that's just getting it done there are a lot of strikeouts in that other lineup and when you look at what he's able to do man it's going to be a fun one to watch today here's the designated hitter for the Orioles Austin Slater first pitch [Applause] [Music] misses big swing in a Miss bad that was pretty gross right there the 1-1 swing and a miss he was late strike two two of the most potent offenses in the game squaring off and another ball [Music] on the ground to first he takes it on his own one up one down here's adley [Applause] Rutman right through there for a strike Clarity measures 6' 4 in 225 lbs and they traded for him earlier this year on the ground right side and he handles it himself for the out gunar Henderson the next to hit for the [Applause] Orioles and a strike on the outside edge man that pitch was dotted so much talent on display when this guy's out there on the hill and it's one and one one two out space is [Music] [Applause] empty swinging a miss and the count is one and two this guy's got such a good Sinker as a hitter You' got to look up in the zone if you look down you're going to be chasing stuff in the dirt just misses the mark outside the Zone it's a good take [Applause] and that one hammered that's back and that one hops the wall now around second going for third and this is going to be a two out triple he was all over that one kind of a risky pitch coming inside with the breaking ball like that you have to bury it otherwise it's not too difficult to get the back to it like he did that time Anthony Sant at the swing and a miss strike one there's a chance right here for one of the better hitters on this roster to get him on the board the first thanks to the three- hole hitter extending the inning good at bad with two outs Henderson on third with two [Applause] outs L and that's a base hit run scores easily of the Oriol strike first it's one nothing just kind to slice that one into Center here's aloy Jimenez strike one o and one next offering is down low one run acrossing the frame so far and we're just getting started here in the top of the first smoked on the ground to Second Taylor whips it to First and they take care of Jimenez for the out and the inning is over but they pick up one run on the RBI single it's now a one nothing ball game back after this on the show back here at Dodger Stadium getting the ND on the mound Craig Kimbrell and singy we were talking earlier about how he's doing a great job navigating for tough spots I've just been so impressed with when it seems like there's more pressure he's more calm and settles in he's done an incredible job with runners in scoring position most guys they get a little tight they start to aim the baseball but for some reason he gets looser the ball comes out of his hand with more life and he's able to wiggle off the hook of you know tough situations and get his team back in the Dugout he steps on the B and two quick outs in the bottom of the first here tonight Here Comes Freddy Freeman up to [Applause] hit Freeman hits it in the air and it falls BS and that keeps the inning [Applause] alive and up to the expand the Zone but usually you at least feel like the pitcher on the mound is earning it and that's important because you got to make players earn it swings through it and that's a strike down and now the first baseman Emmanuel [Applause] Rivera swinging a foul over the screen and back out of play one out base is empty on the ground to short Edmond rolls across the diamond two up two down Ron Ria the next to hit for the Orioles first pitch doesn't find the Zone ball one [Music] no that Clips the corner one ball one strike and the pitch so a foul ball makes it one and two two outs foul ball still a one and two count and a pitch Dr ball right side in plenty of time to First and it's a one two three inning ready to go for the last half of the inning digging in Max Muny Kimber back to work first pitch swinging he can live up in the zone all game if hitters will chase it that's just too much velocity hitters got to look down in the zone Cho to First Rivera steps on first for the out and now teoscar Hernandez out there to Center settles underneath it and he makes the catch that's out number two Tommy Edmond at the [Applause] plate popped up right side Rivera under it and that'll do it back here in La onto the third inning and now the rookie second baseman Jackson holiday in the air left field Hernandez sizing it up and there's one down Austin Slater stands in grounded out his first time up and a foul ball the pitch and he gets tied up right there talk about tying a guy up that was ugly on the ground right side Taylor tosses to first got the out two outs Bas is empty now the number two hitter adley Rutman and takes low for ball one breing ball through there for a strike well a good slider from an opposite-handed pitcher has to stay in that tunnel just a little bit longer otherwise recognition can cause you to Barrel it up and right there The Hitter clearly couldn't do anything with it that one finds the zone and it's one and two gets a piece there we'll do it [Music] [Applause] again swings through that one it's a strike out one two three go the Orioles they and we're back bottom of the inning and now here is Enrique Hernandez and the pitch on the ground Henderson over to First In Time lead off hitter gone in the third Here Comes Chris Taylor swings through that well he threw that fast right by him gives him a little bit of confidence but in the back of your mind you got to think is he trying to set me up for later in this event cracks his Bat and Pops him up holiday racing over to make the catch now the def so the lineup flips over sh Otani up to the dish grounded out his first [Applause] time that one ripped and foul [Applause] ball 0 one down swing and that ball smashed on a line cower makes the catch and that'll do it back here at Chavez Ravine and now gunar Henderson immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter [Applause] [Music] and that just misses really good take especially with two strikes swings through it for the K couldn't catch up to the heater oh there's a small side of relief right there I mean just to keep that speed off the base pass it's not just the pitcher it's other that have to think about it from your infielders have to think about that Runner potentially stealing but also be in position to make a play as an outfielder you're thinking about a base hit to the Outfield I got to get to it quickly to try to keep this guy from taking an extra base so I think everyone just a little more relaxed that he didn't reach base Hernandez calls it in and there's two away two outs Bas is empty here's the left fielder aloy Jimenez grounded out his first time ball one [Applause] low they tried to get him to chase on a slider down and away two down nobody on top half of inning number four a swing and a miss and that strike one instead of letting the hitter get his arms extended tied him up a little bit slightly up slightly in there's a strike generally second third time through the lineup you want to be able to lean on those secondary pitches and command them looks like he's doing a nice job of it got him looking and a nice ining of work there as he sets him down and welcome back to the ballpark here's mookie bets the pitch and that's in for a strike well you always have to be careful in these spots because mooki is lethal in the leadoff spot he has the most multi-home Run games out that people like to describe as a hammer Charlie you can see why it's not a looping slow for he throws it hard and it gets plenty of bite on the end now at the plate Tommy Edmond swing and a ball ripped out towards right center field that'll TouchDown for a hit around first heading for two not stopping he's going for three the relay he's safe at third and the tying run is 90 ft away everything came together [Applause] first pitch fast ball in a great spot to do some damage and he's squared it up nicely now a pretty big at bat coming up with the chance to even this ball game up here's Kik Hernandez he swings and hits a Fly ball center field no trouble here puts it away for the out two away now that's a really nice play ranging back into the outfield for that catch we all know those could be a little tricky especially if the wind swolling around out there and fouled [Applause] off the pitch up the middle holiday throws the first in time Taylor out on the play and and we're back all set for the start of the inning now it's the second baseman Jackson holiday to the right side Freeman steps on the bag and that's one out as they get the lead off hitter in the six it appears D Alex via will take over here he's got some of the best swing and Miss stuff going right now he's striking out hitters a very high rate this year so this should be fun to watch and now the Lefty that's some hitters are just more confident they can track that first pitch out of the hand in the pitcher they don't care if they fall behind a l next offering is downstairs [Applause] got him and it's a done a great job keeping the ball in the park this year the number stack up with some of the best in the game Line Drive Bas H didn't take long to get a result that willingness to drive that pit the opposite way didn't get didn't try to pull the ball he let it get deep took the barrel right to it and then extended to Second pulls him off the B first and second no outs Will Smith steps to the plate for the Dodgers and that one fouled off kicks and fires hit on the ground might be two throws to Henderson back to First double play 363 nicely done for me that's one of the toughest double plays to turn on the infield the first ban has to get inside create a throwing Lane to hit that middle infielder to start the double play and then from there completing it back to First really good job all the way around and now it's Max Muny and that one fouled off with the goal ahead run at third here in the bottom of the six swings and pulls a foul to the right [Applause] side two outs swing and a miss that one in the dirt gets to it on the first that completes the strikeout and that'll do it one scores in the inning coming on this solo home run all even at one a piece you're watching be pitching for a double play in this spot boun to the right into the Outfield base hit into to score from third they take the lead it's 21 two consecutive base hits for these guys here not much to this one other than just a willingness to go the other way and put the ball in play that's a team to bat right there nice job of staying back and letting the ball get deep swing and a pop off in foul if you can get this to the ninth with a three lead it should be a w been tough for the offense so far but you can't get frustrated you got to find a way to Shake it Off go up there and relax that's bll pen is following suit just a good day as a manager or as a pitching coach when you can hand the ball off the multiple arms and get stability from all of their performances now a chance for he's in there it doesn't really matter where you are in the lineup your job is to get on base and try to start around if you're leading off an inning so an field single does the job right there now we'll see if they can make something happen popped up and that'll fall for a base hit the throw in the throw comes in too late and he reaches safely he clearly didn't catch that one on the big part of the bat just kind of muscled it out there and you know on the mound it can be pretty frustrating for a pitcher but you just kind of have to expect those to drop in there sometimes fought off foul [Applause] and down one and two with the tying run at the plate here the top of the night bounce to the left side base hit into the Outfield Runner around third on his way to the plate the throws offline he's saved and they cut the lead Le to two the mound now they turn to Blake tryan he has a great slider with tons of movement and now gunar Henderson it immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed [Applause] hitter check swing he went too far and it's a strike so the tying run at second foul ball it stays nothing and [Applause] two and a pitch ball one there feel them out right now you know you have to retire this hitter if he gets on base it could open up the floodgates for this offense to score some [Applause] runs and a one two swings and misses struck him out gets talked about a lot but a good high fast two strike situation it's just become such a problem for hitters in more recent years with all of the emphasis by pitches on developing that spin rate having a good grip on the baseball those High fast balls they kind of look like to The Hitter that they're Rising even though they're not but they're not decreasing in velocity and spin rate so very difficult to get the barrel next offering misses and one and one swings through that one out in front that time this guy sink has so much drop at it's almost like a split finger fast ball instead of just weak contacting balls on the ground he gets swings and misses outside low two and two got him looking that's a strike out you got to be ready to swing the bat with the runner in scoring position in two strikes just put the ball in play somewhere and you got a chance very frustrating for him I'm sure see if the next guy can pick him up JZ in the box now take strike one Slater at second Rutman on it first with two now the next pitch misses and a count even one and one [Applause] good eye right there tough spot right here a couple Runners on two ball count you can't nible but you have to execute and finish your pitch if you leave something out over the plate it's going to bring in some runs col cower Hing on Deck Circle two on two outs rolled softly but that goes foul definitely got the hitter conscious of the pitch inside really think the outer half is open ripped on the ground is second on the first ball game I don't care if you're a top team or you're a middle of the pack Team
