day two of the Pittsburgh Steelers rookie mini camp is officially in the books and I believe it'll be a week or two before we see these guys get back out here for OTAs but with that being said I wanted to give you guys another sneak peek some highlights some analysis some you know news and notes from around the Pittsburgh Steelers rookie mini camp and in this video I really want to talk about a couple of guys one including uh you know first round pick Troy fatano and then also you have a couple of guys Zack fras looking really good as well and Roman Wilson Mason McCormick a lot of guys in the offensive side of the football actually looking pretty good as well as an undrafted rookie running back we're going to Deep dive into it all in this video now before we jump in do me a big favor and hit the like button just so we can get this video out to more Steelers fans around the world subscribe if you're new it's free doesn't cost anything so join the family now with that being said comment down below who do you think is one of the most underrated rookie prospects for the Steelers is it a guy like pton Wilson uh Logan Lee Ryan Watts or whoever you may think comment down below but with that being said let's dive into you know Troy fatano and how he's been looking so far in rookie mini camp now last season the most interesting thing was Dan Moore was one of the worst and yeah I mean that one of the worst offensive tackles in football he allowed eight sacks in 2023 which was tied for eighth most in the league and according to PFF he had a grade of 39.7 in terms of pass blocking which was ranked the sixth lowest in the league so earlier this off season heard a lot about you know Roger Jones maybe playing the left side of the field or left side of the offensive line just so he can help protect the Blind Side of Russell Wilson now over the past few days here we've kind of see that come to fruition with a guy like Troy fatano obviously played a lot of left tackle uh back in college but we'll have to learn how to flip side because you know footwork is so important especially if you go from left to right it's kind of opposite right um now you talk about the versatility of the o line it's important if bro Jones could play left or right that's huge but also if Troy fatano could play left or right that's also big in itself as well so I think they're going to work him a lot here at both left and right tackle uh but right now I think there's a lot of changes going on he played left tackle for a left-handed quarterback at Washington he used to being on the quarterback's front side he's also a bit shorter has you know slightly shorter arms therefore he's a little bit easier uh you know for a quarterback to see over so I actually do think he'd be a better fit on the right side just because he's so used to playing on that side of the field now at the very end of the day uh we have to see him continue work continue to get better and there's going to be a learning Cur right it's going to take him a little bit to completely you know shift sides completely change what he was you know used to doing in his collegiate career but from there we also learned a lot out of a guy like Zack Frasier now now before I end it off about Troy vitano listen the dude looks really good even though he's playing on the opposite side right now dude you can just tell this dude was meant to be a first round pick it's going to translate to the NFL level once he gets you know um you know chemistry with his teammates uh you know the feel of the NFL pace and level this dude's going to be a stud don't you guys worry at all now another thing that's very important in terms of offensive line is you know just the overall chemistry right and you bring in a guy in Zack Frasier right this dude is going to be one of the most important pieces of the Pittsburgh seels o line for the entirety of the future I'll tell you what he's a guy that has leadership traits a guy who wants to really win football games and doesn't care about the fame or uh the money aspect the ego like this is a guy who just wants to play football but also wants to be in a Brotherhood right he wants to be connected with the other Old Line in the room now according to the Athletics Mike defo Frasier picked up McCormack Mason McCormack and Troy fatano and drove them to mini camp in his truck right he's continues to talk about Brotherhood continues to talk about friendship and uh being a you know a close-knit group this is what he is trying to do he also was quoted saying I feel like offensive line it's a Brotherhood that's how it has been everywhere I've been whether it's high school college or even here so I think we're going to be great friends I can already tell now this is huge news for Pittsburgh Steels fans around the world because listen when you have an offensive line who really likes each other who really knows how to play with each other know where each other are going to be when they're going to be there how to help if someone needs help this is going to be massive man I'm telling you right now building relationships building friendships on and off the field make guys play better together and the coist or the cois um among offensive line means more than anything right so I do think that Zack Frasier not not only his play is going to be you know good good enough for a day one starter but also what he does off the field is going to be almost just as important with three rookies coming in all base competing for a role all these guys are going to have similar experiences they're going to you know do the similar things in terms of you know mentally getting into the Playbook and learning each other and then once the uh the veterans come in these guys are already going to have that connection right and then they just have to translate to the other guys the veterans right so listen they all have to learn together they're on the same boat right now they have to do the same things they're going through it together and I think you know that in itself should be massive right you have patano who's a who's ATT tackled McCormick who's played a lot of Right Guard Maybe left guard um and then you have you know Fraser who's a center is going to be you know maybe goes out to a a guard position but it looks like he could be the starter center right away with you know Isaac somalo and James Daniels looking like they're day one starters and then Troy and Brer Jones left and right side switching up a little bit dude I'm loving what the Steelers have done this off season and I think the connection between these guys is going to be huge overall day two was most definitely a success for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday worked a lot on you know run and pass blocking uh we saw a little bit of Roman Wilson uh you know working with his new wide receiver coach Zach aani uh you know at College Roman Wilson played both inside and outside of Michigan spending 91% of his time in the slot as a junior in 2022 and then 65% of his time in the slot last season so obviously has versatility inside or out can still be productive uh whether or not he wants to play inside or outside or where where the Steelers want to play him right and then defensive rookies oo took the field as well uh definitely being a spotlight on Saturday there was nothing too Dynamic to read into again no pads no full speed no contact just really helmets and uh getting guys mentally prepared for what the season has to bring uh but cornerback Ryan Watts definitely uh did return on Saturday after missing Friday's practice uh because I believe he had a graduation but overall man I'm excited to see what these guys can you know continue to do here over the next couple of weeks I think it's going to be a really good OTA session with u obviously some some veterans coming back right once we see the veterans in the mix once you start seeing some seven on sevens maybe some 11 on 11s that's when things get really really fun I know a lot of people think don't look too much into rookie camp and OTAs and whatnot uh but you know look at Cory T man last year Cory T started off rookie mini camp really well and then suddenly he looked like he could be a starter coming into the season obviously he uh had an injury at the end of training camp which you you know forced him to be out the season but man yeah First Impressions do mean a lot and when you see a guy like Roman Wilson and Zack Frasier and um you know even a guy like Troy fatano really really making progress really getting better um it just goes to show how good of players they can be and if they continue to develop man the the uh future is extremely bright here for the Pittsburgh Steelers man so I'm excited let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below hit the like button subscribe if you're new join the family it's free doesn't cost anything more Steelers videos is going to be coming out through the next couple of weeks here as we break down more mini camp training camp and everything you guys need to know so I'll see you guys soon peace
