I'm sure you're tired about hearing our rankings so let's hear about Alfredo Brown from football guys let's hear about his rankings pick them apart a little bit on fft Express all right Alfredo is here welcome to the show thank you for being here yeah thank you for having me all right we're gonna look at your rankings and uh we've got some ones that really stand out first of all you have Alvin chra as rb7 and James Cook as RB 17 so I thought I was high on Cima this is terrific stuff rb7 and discuss some some Vindication for you you feel yes yes feel better about it now yeah uh I mean Alvin CRA the thing is I I don't know what the blinders are with him maybe we just don't like the Saints maybe we don't like Derek Carr but if to me that's actually a good thing that we don't like Derek Carr all he does is check down to Alvin chra constantly he led all running backs in receptions and targets last season in a points per game basis he was running back three and we're sitting here acting like he shouldn't be drafted in the to 12 and I guess maybe it's because he's a little bit older uh I don't quite know but Alvin hasn't been used the same way that most traditional running backs have been used so I I really have no problem with ranking Alvin CRA in my top 10 and honestly where you keep getting him in drafts is such a value you're getting him probably two rounds lower than I would normally draft him I gotta start doing more more real drafts because I like eventually the Secret's gonna be out I think he's older and hasn't had a 30 yard run in three seasons which is incredible might not be a good running back anymore but it just doesn't matter so I'm with you there James Cook are you concerned about the touchdowns I'm concerned about a little bit of everything uh if had they gone with a few more traditional pass catchers in Buffalo I think i' I'd be more okay uh they just have a bunch of guys that have redundant skill sets khil Shakir can catch the ball really well close to the line of scrimmage Curtis Samuel can catch the ball out of the back field dton Kade is going to be playing out of the slot as well so all these things that we like about a running back like James Cook that he can be used all over the field to catch passes they have a bunch of other players that can do similar things and now they go and draft Ray Davis out of Kentucky who I love he's a great pass blocker he's a great receiver he's GNA work on short yardage and like like you mentioned the touchdowns so there's enough here where I'm a little worried about James Cook he really only had a a very strong four game stretch where he had four touchdowns and other than that it was very up and down not as as I guess not as romantic as we like to remember it from last year yeah it was up down for sure I think the optimism for people's probably just with Joe Brady he seemed to get a lot more work but you're right without those touchdowns the work won't lead to consistent production he gonna have to score a little bit more um Drake London so yeah people are are I actually don't really know if people are that split on him because ADP he's like a clear top 12 guy everyone's expecting a big year you have him as wide receiver nine ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr and it's hard to get away from the possibility of Drake London but does it concern you because I've compared him all offseason long Garrett Wilson George Pickins and Drake London they have both they've all had terrible quarterback play in their two seasons in the in the NFL but the other guys have given us thousand yard season 1100 yard seasons Drake London's not hasn't even been a top 40 receiver per game so what's your confidence level why is your confidence level high enough to make him wide receiver nine it's I'm totally gonna fumble it here but my confidence level is not that high to have him at number nine it's more of just a deao thing that we kind of fall off this ledge with wide receivers where they go from being very reliable and very safe to you're just going ah kind of needed to start drafting for upside at this point because you get like you mentioned Garrett Wilson Drake London Marvin Harrison Jr Chris alve all Brandon auk I guess like all these guys with some great upside but then it after that it's a bunch of safe guys it's the Mike Evans it's Devonte Adams guys that maybe don't have the same ceiling so what I wanted to do here at least when I was doing my rankings is contextualize that okay here's a guy that should have a floor with Target volume an improved offense an offense that Kirk Cousins is now going to be able to run much better than we've ever seen from Desmond Ritter and there should be some better upside if this offense can actually score more and I think that's been the big thing that's been alluding all Falcons players is not named John new Smith and Tyler Alger is just getting some touchdowns all right we're gonna take a quick break here on fantasy football today Express and when we come back we'll take a look at some more rankings of alfredos that stand out we'll be right back after this all right back into your wide receiver rankings Z flowers at wide receiver 27 that's pretty close to his ADP you have him though ahead of Chris Godwin Malik neighbors and George Pickins so that's Z flowers we could talk about flowers actually I'm gonna start though with Neighbors at wide receiver 29 so that's lower than what we see in recent drafts all this preseason Buzz uh I guess you're showing some discipline here not maybe not falling for it what do you think about neighbors so I talked about this on my show that I'm very worried that we kind of end up getting Garrett Wilson here with Malik neighbors we've just we've a lot of the excuses we use with rookies is that they could be really good we haven't seen them yet but we have seen this archetype of player an extremely talented player that can get over 140 Targets in a season and still not really produce enough for fantasy football and listen I I Daniel Jones has not been able to produce fantasy relevant receivers I think the last one he had uh that may have been cl to top 24 with Sterling Shepard on a points per game basis so now we're asking Daniel Jones to stay healthy all year win games and be able to throw more touchdowns than he ever has in his career for Malik neighbors to be relevant in fantasy football so uh I it's not that I'm out of malag neighbors it's that I'm out on him at his current cost and I see him probably closer to wide receiver 30 than most people who probably have him closer to wide receiver 20 what about um comparing Neighbors and Garrett Wilson as prospects how do you see them you know just coming out of college oh they compare very favorably like they they are very similar players I think some people would probably say I would agree Malik neighbors is a better Prospect than Garrett Wilson but I think that his situation might actually be a little bit worse I'm very nervous that the New York Giants are going to end up getting blown up halfway through the season this is one of those teams where they don't have any other strong weapons they've had offensive line issues forever they've got a coach and GM who are on the hot seat watching their offseason Hard Knocks made me very very nervous and hearing Malik neighbors this is a total intangible but hearing Malik neighbors say that he could actually just throw a fit on the sideline if he's not getting targets it does scare me a little bit I mean that's great for Fantasy but it also just scares me a little bit for how the New York Giants could blow up midseason I didn't like that quote either that you know especially compared to Marvin Harrison who's like the most the biggest gentleman it seems like already in the NFL I didn't like that either but the Giants seem to like him let uh let's get one more ranking here Rashi rice so it doesn't seem like you've moved him up as much as say Heath has I think you have Rashi rice wide receiver 37 right now uh could you see yourself moving him into the top 30 if we find out that Hollywood Browns injury is worse than believed and we find out that Rashid rice is only going to be suspended for two or three games because the thing for me with with Rashi rice and and this might throw people off I actually don't think he is a very strong route Runner or or a Top Flight NFL wide receiver and a lot of that kind of just was happen stance last year that the chiefs were trotting out uh Justin Watson Marquez Valdes scantling cadarius Tony who was dropping passes and fumbling the ball they had no one else to throw to and then when they did throw to Rashi rice it was constantly on screens and Slants he was he was catching balls by the line of scrimmage almost constantly now they go and they bring in two other guys who not only stretch the field but run a more diverse route tree um if volume was the thing that was carrying Rashi rice before I'm very worried that he does not have the volume this year so that's why I'm more inclined to keep him at like a wide receiver three than really even pump him up to where I think some people might have him sorry Heath you're a homer I think our guys are not expecting him to be suspended at all this year we're thinking it seems pretty unlikely so they've moved him up a little bit more but Alfredo thank you very much for coming on we appreciate it man yeah thank you for having me all right that's Alfredo Brown at football guys I'm Adam AER and we will talk to you tomorrow on fantasy football today Express
