incredible finish fantastic two one for prom [Music] hi there and welcome along to the Modo Super Series on this Champions week and what a Champions week it has been so far two great days of darts to kick things off but today well it will be the end of the beginning for one of the six players because somebody will B their place at Champions night all week Paul Nicholson has been alongside me Paul it's been a fascinating couple of days starts in group a hasn't it yeah I think a great uh start on Monday but things got cranked up a notch yesterday which was great to see in fact only one player actually decreased their average from Monday to Tuesday yesterday but that was someone who actually played better on the whole so yesterday was one of the most enjoyable days that I can remember here in Portsmouth and long may that continue for the rest of the week yeah we've got a three-way TI at the top of the table going into the final day we'll speak more about that later but let's talk about the candidates to make it through to Champions night starting with the favorite to win Champions week Connor scut who did some incredibly inventive things yesterday and really did emerge as an authority in this group yeah I think so he started with a couple of defeats on Monday so the way he's been able to figure it out and get to the top after a couple of days just shows where his confidence is at and he's the person who did decrease his average uh on his own from Monday to Tuesday yesterday so it's the sustainability though he's averaging over 90 both days whereas other people are just a bit more up and down you love this didn't you I love this and I didn't see it coming and I've got to give a lot of props to our production team for actually spotting that his eyes went down and he wasn't looking at treble 18 to try and Lead double eight the fact that he was looking at Double 19 in that spot was very creative and it's got a lot of people thinking yeah um Tom sy's one of those players at the top as well he again we say Connor Scot emerged yesterday toms's even better than that yeah definitely because he started in fifth position which is where Jimmy Vani starts today we'll get on to that in a second but his ability to really force the issue yesterday to get four wins to be the best player with points yesterday maybe not the best statistical player but it's all about points in a group a situation and any group for that matter so the fact that he was able to win 80% of his games to get himself in the Reckoning fair play to him and Marvin vanon still very much at the top end of the table as well but it did did it feel to you like he was kind of Treading Water a little yesterday yeah maybe a little I think a lot of the games felt harder to him than they were on Monday he was taking uh advantage of maybe people being a bit Rusty or having a few cobwebs on Monday whereas there was nothing like that yesterday so wins for him came at a premium so would expect if he was to win this group he's going to have to have his best day of the week yeah a couple of players also still in the race but the one that isn't is Thomas Banks although he did show a little bit of promise yesterday didn't he especially in the middle when he started with a loss and he was six out of six for losses in Champions week you thought this doesn't look good but he didn't leave the stage and didn't exude this negativity that would infect the rest of his day he stuck to his task got a couple of wins and now we have to look at him as the person who could spoil everybody other's plans uh he's not going to win the group but if he goes into Group C he's going to cause chaos and all sorts of Havoc for the rest of the week certainly could right darts is a game of skill it's also a game of numbers and we're going to crunch some for you now here are the stats for this group so far in fact Thomas Banks doesn't have the lowest overall average that's Neil Duff who is notoriously a slower starter but can tend to do well later in the weeks but interestingly out of the three players tied at the top of the table Tom syes just edging it but not much between them there's not much between Tom and Connor in any sort of Arena at the minute they're both playing to a very similar level and it's actually Tom who has the greater experience in this place and I just wonder if that is going to play its part today or indeed for the rest of the week but I think we've talked yesterday myself and yourself Chris about The Narrative of previous Champions weeks bull Greaves we've talked about mckuin we've talked about Rey Smith we've talked about liter this week West searching for The Narrative of the week and after the first couple of days it's very evident that it could be Scott versus Sykes and just one thing that I noted in those stats there every single player checkout percentage in the 30 percentile Conor Scot just about 47% that's going to be a huge difference if you can keep that going and we have seen more than one occasion this week in a daily campaign where someone's over 50% they're world class numbers doesn't matter that this isn't the PDC Pro Tour or the wdf world championship at Le ex site this is worldclass darts and numbers back it up yeah it's been a world class group and this is how it looks after two days and crucially ahead of a final day three players on 12 points the next two on 10 any week five players in contention and in such close contention going into Wednesday is incredible but for that to happen on Champions week this is set up for some kind of thrilling finale isn't it h yeah just a little bit especially when you consider the fact that Banks is taking on duff in the first game today so we could have four players on 12 and then you've got Jimmy who at times this week has looked Sensational and he's been deflecting big averages from other people so much more can happen over the next 15 matches and we implore people if they've got plans over the next four or five hours make sure you take us with you because from a live sporting point of view this is going to be wonderful yep so any one of five can win the group and these are the odds for who the book is think will do it vanky and Duff a long way obviously that the sort of slightly misleading thing is those players at the top are going to play each other so they're definitely going to get sort of four points away whoever does win those fixtures but Scot the favorite tomes 5 to2 van velon 3 to1 do you think they've got it about right it's pretty close I think having Connor as the favorite is fair based on the level of play we've seen from him over the couple of days but there have been Trends Sykes is getting himself more into the groove and we can't ignore the fact that the last time he was in Champions week he was up against Scott Taylor who was unbelievable in series six and Tom Sykes won the group a situation so he knows how to do it this is still Connor Scott's first Champions week we can't ignore that what impact could Thomas banks have today because he's playing in the first match against Neil Dove he showed yesterday that he's not going to be The Whipping Boy in this group got himself off the mark couple of wins what kind of impact can he have and does that tell us that no game is safe there are no sort of straightforward victories today nobody is safe look at yesterday Banks gets his first win against Jimmy vank and at the time he's cruising towards the top of the table then is halted by Banks if banks has the same effect on Wednesday who's he going to stop he could even stop them all y absolutely well Paul I'll let you join commentary Henry Deacon is waiting in there for you I know you're waiting for the action to get underway and the first match is very much Junior versus Senior as Thomas Banks a 17-year-old Talent takes on the former world champion in Neil Duff that's game one of what will be a thrilling 15 so let's get it on great finish the fantastic one 12 one from promis Banks the ball it's in the ball it's unbelievable so here we go The Opening match of the final day of group a and at the end of the day we will know the identity of one of the series 8 Champions night participants Neil Duff could be that man but he has to get off to a winning start you would think taking on Thomas Banks who as Paul and I just mentioned did get a couple of wins yesterday the 7 19y old after a pointless opening day but the Bulldog was bullish and refused to roll over and get his belly tickled Neil Duff though well usually comes good later in the week but will he have his feet up on Thursday and Friday a good start and a good day could see Duff seal his place at Champions night and our two in commentary to talk you through the action which Owen Binks is about to get underway as the referee are Paul Nicholson who's alongside Henry Deacon morning Henry yeah morning Chris morning everybody it's Thomas to throw first and so today is a day where somebody is going to realize a super series ambition somebody for the end of play will qualify for Champions night the only player of the six has done so previously is Tom syes and so for somebody they're going to be treading water which they have never treaded before Neil Duff participating in his third Champions week is perhaps a surprise he's never made the big night his record here in the past with Thomas Banks where he's just taking every opportunity as it comes he was superb but he won his week in week nine played okay but maybe the way he's played this week has just been an illustration as to how different a Champions week is compared to a normal week it's very different very different indeed but there's one thing I've been thinking about all morning because there's a lot of eyes on Scot hey a lot of eyes on Sykes the likes of Van Velton as well and Jimmy Vani but4 Neil is a world champion and even at two points behind the top spot he is still floating under the radar a little bit 140 he starts by leaving tops after 12 however double 13 68 would have given Thomas the lead do is in position to take the first leg against the throw throwing different dots today 20 the change of darts haven't yielded a change of Fortunes there and Banks is hoping 13's lucky for him double four is the target of choice and the target is found Banks one up now if you look at the leg difference of D first game he starts all square with 10 points which is 11 legs behind cornor Scot we'll get to that in due course 85 but what I can say is if today repeats yesterday points twise maybe not for the same people but there is a route where Neil Duff can get through this group 60 at the expense of everybody else based on points alone but slip UPS have got to be very minimal you suspect that he probably has to go through the card to do exactly that and then hope there's a little bit of Carnage below him that would be the most realistic qu that he going to happen yes he's got to score at least eight points today and he's got to have the likes of Scott Van velson and Sykes only getting two wins each that brings Thomas into play heavily because he'll want Thomas to to score eight points as well Thomas can't mathematically win the group but he can get himself into Group B and if he can do that then he'll be placed in the same group as Steve West who is a close friend/ mentor of his and if them two are in a same group alongside one another that could be fun for the rest of the field 140 you're going really early with the possibilities of certain groups but I've already had the thought this morning of6 a little bit of Marvin V Belson against Steve West double top for Duff game on the second that's the stuff Neil D yesterday was just so enjoyable the standard was fantastic 91 and a half as an average for the deer 45 Maxum 45 that was eight more than Monday and we had 37 on Monday which is really good and the strangest thing was the lowest total of anybody scoring maximums yesterday was Thomas at six and usually he's one of the best maximum hitters of anybody I suppose it backs his points up saying he's not a prolific 180 hitter yeah don't give him any evidence because after everything that happened in qualifying over the last 12 weeks I said he was wrong and I stand by it well he hit the most maximums in qualify Al though there is a bit of aurity due to the fact that players have qualified for different routes so some players have played more matches than other than other players Banks it 46 180s in 29 games to qualify for this Champions week all of the Trends from Monday to Tuesday were positive 93 even scuts average that came down by just a little bit it was still a good one and it got it to the top of the table 180 and there's the first one 52 first one of many today it's not going to be immediately followed by the first t plus checkout on the 152 but Duff looking for the break of throw 107 is what he's looking at to we requ two one up and it would be for a break of throw as well that's not the worst start in the world because treble 20 will still leave double 16 so he gets that chance at double 16 but he cannot take that chance and Banks is back to put himself in front again double eight game sh the third leg why is it Thomas Banks we're in the middle of this game it's probably the right time to bring it up but why is that becoming more prevalent than ever that treble 12 it seems to be three players are doing it more often than others but I think when young players look at the likes of Thomas they look at Bull GRE they look at fall and Sher because they three that I would assume that would do it more than anybody else why are they doing that n this whole argument of if I go for the treble it focuses my mind better 58 I don't quite get it I'm not going to lie because what you're doing by hitting trouble 12 is you're leaving a secondary double whereas if you get a 12 or a 20 you're leaving a primary double 100 call me old school if you want but I don't quite get it 43 it's not just a change of barrels today fil it's a change of flight color as well he's been using red ones this week and sometimes little changes like that can make an immense difference 151 and he is the type of player that he's not he's not a major tinkerer as you were but he can sometimes just pick and choose between two different sets and depending on how he gets along over the course of a week he may just have a look at the other one and see how that holds out well he's gone from red to Black so maybe he's gone from friendly Spider-Man to evil Spider-Man see that's how we do it big single primary double you didn't see him go for treble 182 just another example of what we're talking about but it is 22 and the best of three contest that we've got here now is3 extremely important for Duff because if he doesn't win this game van ski Sykes van velson and Scott will now have a game in hand on him 96 this week's a big week for Neil duve he can complete the set here if he wins Champions week the 58 abbreviated Triple Crown of the live Lounge weekly win double start win Champions week win 81 here's an interesting one then based on what Neil has done here and he is going to be back in 2025 100 so it's not as if he's going to go to Q school and try and get on the PC tour it's not part of his plan you mentioned that he's not made a Champions Knight 134 if you were to go to Neil right now and say you're going to make Champions Knight but you're not going to win it 94 would he take that as a form of progression I think Neil Duff deals in victories 174 see that's how you set up a 190 the other way Scott does it with double 19 Duff does it with a 54 the result is exactly the same fifth leg Neil 13 D to break the throw Neil Duff averaging here 94.35 really good performance out the game he leads Thomas Banks 32 and if he can win this match he'll move on to 12 points it mean there will be a 4way tie at the top of the table 140 although that will be broken in the next match because Conor Scot takes on Tom Sykes 140 and what is not to like about that fixture however this fixture is one that Duff really really likes 100 he is one leg away from doing the triple over Banks over Monday Tuesday and Wednesday 100 isn't going to give up without a fight one thing we've learned about the Bulldog is he has got character in abundance could have been very easy for his head to have dropped after losing his first six matches but recovered well in the middle portion of yesterday with those back-to-back quins 130 and I think regardless of what happens today whether he ends up in b or whether he ends up in C we've seen it before where a troubling group a campaign can yield success for him and he's going to have to draw upon that again but first things first he's on for potential Le data 12 will do and we level at 33 and this game has really come up to the boil as we've headed towards its conclusion we have a crescendo ending in the first match of the day a matter of fact all three days the first match of the session has gone to a deciding leg one of the key things coming into Wednesday prove just how close this group is as we look at what the head-to-head records look like after the first couple of days 10 of the fixtures of which there are 15 are one game all only five of them do we see somebody winning 2 this is one of the two Nils and look at the quality of this game 85 if Duff breaks it means that he's got a square Ledger for the rest of the day two 85 more games where he will have the darts and two where he want 56 now we are 142 and he's got six on 142 to wrap this game up J 14 with DT two to himself a dart at top he's going to come back for 48 to take this game out 43 134 such a big shot no hesitation straight in and he wants it done double 16 and nil D over the line and he kicks off his day with a win a 4 Darter in the deciding leg to beat Thomas Banks who'll remain at the bottom of the table and a lonesome figure at the bottom of the table but for Neil Duff heures four players are all on 12 points in this group and it means we are going to have an Almighty Crescendo to this Champions League group a Neil D walks back down the stage a 4-3 Victor on the back of a good performance average an excess of 96 in terms of his doubling four from nine he's very much in the picture but that four-way tie will be broken after the break as Connor Scott and Tom sites go Toe to Toe the Victor will be the first of 14 points [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back to Champions week at the mod of Super Series where it is Wednesday meaning somebody will make it through to finals night the first player to get to Champions night will be confirmed come the end of the day Neil D put himself firmly in the mix by making it a four-way tight at the top of the table but that will change here as Connor Scott the sniper the favorite to win this week and this series takes on Tom syes one of them will make their move and go outright top of the table Sykes has already been to a champion tonight in fact he's been to the big money match the final in series six losing out in the end on that occasion and these are the best two players in the group statistically and their games have been close F things so far 4-3 either way on Monday and Tuesday what will Wednesday bring for the pair let's find out in a company Henry and Paul Nicholson game on yeah thank you m two players that will know as well that they're statistically the two best in this group a however when it comes to the end of the day stats are be irrelevant the only one that matters is who's got the most points and maybe the better leg differ is Conor Scott kicks off the day in perfect style as soon as he hits that maximum we just say here we we go again oh 14 early morning disappointment with the bounce out he almost left the 150 100 it tells you straight away that Conor Scott is in a relax mood because what we're seeing with from him is a maybe in recent times a bit of a change of Mo where he used to do that all the time if he's relaxed you'll see him do it but if he feels like maybe he just needs to focus in a bit more he will go and do that he's got up to a good start nonetheless leaving 11 10 after n and tops after 11 90 Tomy you require 170 is this nothing after 12 not quite 100 this is the fixture of this group with all due respect to the others this one has been delivering and it gives us a 14 D start for Sniper because at one game all these two have given us 14 legs before that one which we just couldn't stop watching 39 just to back up what murf was saying these two have got the best running averages of the week both over 93 60 they've got the most 180s 19 for Sykes 16 for Scott however if you dig a little deeper into their numbers it was actually Connor that was the only person to decrease his average Yesterday by 2.44 points but he's still averag 91.8 n for the day 42 that's where he's so good because even if he decreases his output he's still at a level that is better than most SES he went up by 2.78 points but his doubles percentage went up by 12% yesterday that was the big difference 180 he is locked in and he could be about to break toes here 130 this may just be the wrong time to catch Connor Scott because he looks like he's hot hot hot 57 has got to find something just to keep him in his vicinity and this might be it he's only getting Pops at t plus out as the 117 in the last which he missed but he gets the 109 to square up put 11 and it was an opportunity he had to get Connor Scott knew it gets Connor to throw first the game which is being played in a good spirit and at a very high level are you starting to get the feeling that I have which is these two really like to play each other 180 let me put it this way Connor and let us put it this way Tom we love watching you play each other and this time after hitting a maxi with the first visit he decides to stay upstairs knowing that he is now very much tuned into the heat of battle this is a rival which began back in January where tomsu he did have a previous appearance here at the Super Series but still was a fairly much an unknown quantity4 Deni Connor Scott place in the final was on Scott's debut back in this competition and from that point onward we've known all about the name of tomes but in this game it's Scott that's in charge of seedings and he could be two one up if he can find double eight so creative you just wouldn't think of it unless you're a dart notter just like Scott he probably goes to sleep and I think I wonder if there's a different way I can get one two four if they're not on a finish what can I do could I the Barry Vanier Ru and 4242 double top no that's a bit boring how about this he's like the peck Guardiola of darts isn't he in the respect of the way his his brain and his mind thinks about the game and you think about it this way the more we see Conor the more people see Conor the more other players will try and rack his brains and think of his ways of going around the board one football with pet Guardiola when he came to Manchester City now everybody plays out from the back you're not wrong 14 remember when the Dutch players started using the bullseye a bit more now everybody does it I think the darting World should pay attention to what Connor does 98 because he very very rarely does anything that is construed as an error everything has thought 60 so now he's got me thinking what can he possibly do from 246 that'll do 180 Tommy 112 it's a boring fourth Max and Sykes again is being forced to take out a t plus check out and he finds the 112 these two are hitting each other with hay maker after hay maker Scott is doing the scoring is doing the finishing we're level at 22 in what is what can only be described as an absolute brahmer fifth Max the record's on the record for an individual performance is seven by Mark dubridge Scott's got five he's averaging 110 but Sykes is still on his coattails most maximums this week in a game by a player six by S 29 that was a very hot Streaker he was on the strange thing is Sykes hasn't got any maximums in this game coincidentally that game where Sykes did get the six maximums 100 he only just won it against the throw against Thomas Banks and game eight on Monday it was very very tight 138 152 Scott able to take out the 152 he may have to force SES to take out another one here in the 164 164 wouldn't be surprised 64 con 92 where does the error come from or is it just Brilliance constantly different angle seven try to guide it down the stem 100 so the error is made where's the genius 60 well for all of the Power scoring of Scot he's two from eight on the doubles but he finds himself fre to up in this encapsulating contest it's only game two but there is something happening in the table which is very very important and it's not those five maximums it's not the 6 ton 40 pluses that we've got collectively it's the leg difference Scott can get himself a two-point cushion over Tom Sykes as you can see but if you look at that leg difference 45 at this point in time if Scott wins by one leg there will be a difference of 10 legs cannot continue for the chasing pack six MCH of the match all told not the max for Scott there this is the first leg that Sykes has looked in control of because the other two he won he was on the back foot and took out t plus checkouts and as soon as I say that he's in charge of proceedings he's then gone down for 19 lead 165 has he done that on purpose cuz he wants a 133 32 can you see what these players are doing to people like me they're trying to make us think was leaving 165 on purpose we're going to have to ask Tom later but 106 the biggest truth right now is he needs another Tom plus finish Tri 18 would have left double 16 and so Scott looking at the little fish con3 to secure a big win it will put him to the top of the table it will move into 14 points and that first trible it's permanently laid for a second it's double five it's a superb ending to a spectacular contest and the sniper is firing on all cylinders five maximums to 130 checkout and an average of 103 he gets the better with Tom syes by four leg to two he moves to the top of the table and he sends out an emphatic statement to the rest of the field the sniper on what is a big day here at the live Lounge is here to play he gets a better with Tom SES by four legs to two who needed checkouts of 109 and 112 just to win the legs that he got because he was on the back foot so Scott moves on to 14 Jimmy van and Marvin Van velon go toe-to-toe after the break and if Jimmy wins that game then Connor Scott will have a two-point lead at the end of the first round of fixtures next year when that decision needs to be made he going to be 49 one year sh the age of the seniors very viable option two players who are around that age well what did he say about the N will we get the 141 will the promise come true 12 Steve West has won the match with a n Harrison has up the last perfect style it's everything really oh he's timing this well again 180 with a nine D trible 19 trouble 15 leads double 18 franch Harrison to win the game called himself out of it yeah something that Henry actually said in just that I was quoted to saying Jared Cole is one of the most sounds a bit fishy you know my grandpa markm do you a 177 and a 18 he's on a potential nine da come on Jared yes you beauty nice and high and has now got the game back into his own destination and wow the momentum is here we go 10 I wouldn't have said it don't jinx it yes yes Double 12 yes get in there Lee I think it's fair to say that the blue touch paper has been well and truly lit 108 six Max of the match Oh Hang about hang about it's getting ridiculous now can Tommy lman give us backto back nine DS in backto back [Music] games he could you know he could you know good back to back night TS welcome back to the live Lounge in Portsmouth the home of the modor super series on what is Champions week on series 8 and Connor Scott may be the one that's about to make the cut a fantastic fantastic performance from Scott in the previous match an average of 103 518s from him now looking to move within a couple of points Jimmy Vani the 38 30-year-old challenge tour winner recently back here the Super Series taking on Marvin Van velon who was top of the table after day one he could join Scot at the peak of the pile there the 24 year old in the daily Dutch darting Derby which will be described by Henry Deacon and Paul Nicholson thank you Earth well these two traveled together on Sunday morning but they may well be heading in different directions on Thursday and Friday here at the live Lounge both players looking a win group a but there's also a distinct possibility that they could be in different groups all together when it comes to the first Thursday and Friday action here at the live Lounge in Portsmouth for Marvin Van velon the first day was absolutely Immaculate winning four and five top the table but he actually put eight points on his average from day one to day two but finds himself second in the pile going into day three as van kicks of his day with a Max matter of fact the last couple of games have kicked off with Maxis everybody's hit a maximum in their first game apart from Marvin Van Felson he's only thrown three dots I know I've gone early with that but the quality is here on Wednesday and this is what we wanted we wanted a dramatic day to get our first name in Champions night it is definitely happening I like that you brought up Marvin increas in productivity though because of all of the players from Monday to Tuesday it's actually these two that had the biggest hike in average number almost five points for Jimmy almost eight for Marvin even though he won less points yesterday than he did on Monday 100 Jimmy exactly the same it was a mediocre Monday which yielded points and yesterday improved upon his performance but kind of caught out with everybody else around him doing exactly the same he's left himself on 104 to take out the opening leg and this was a ining encounter yesterday we talk about players raising their game and losing BS and an average in excess of 106 and lost this match and that was because this man here hit three t plus checkouts but he's not going to get one in this leg Yeah four T Plus checkouts in the first four legs that game had us in a spin even spinni than a certain Ginger headed dark player who just hit a n leg who fell over on the oy because he was so excited 24 hi Tommy 26s sanski doesn't go and if there has been one area which there could be room for improvement for Jimmy times has been his finish he's either hit it first all or not hit at all there's been no in the middle that's pretty much in the middle and that's a breett good throw for van and he leads one n second gets Marvin Good Start From Marvin and there's that process after every leg goes for a sip of water and starts again really really like that however yesterday when I was sitting here with Chris Murphy that Dart right there that five we started to monitor2 how much that was happening and it was becoming more of a problem on Tuesday so just because I couldn't get enough of the Super Series yesterday I thought last night I'm going to look into something else in a bit more detail 59 I rewatched the last game with Marvin against Connor Scott there were five legs Connor won it by four legs to one Marvin didn't play poorly he nearly averaged 88 but Scott was better have a guess how many times Marvin missed the 20 bed into the five in that match 140 a lot I asked you for a number just have a guess let's go five I don't know 11 59 if you put that into real terms and let's say he should get on average about 12 and a half extra points because some of them were treble fives most of them were single fives we're talking about something in the region of 150 points lost over the course of a match purely because he was pulling the DT left that cannot continue in a career because you can continue against worldclass players given them more shots than the Poss deserve well that now means every player is head a Max for the day and a matter of fact in what is our third match of the day Midway through the third match of the day we've had 10 maximums 85 Jimmy 36 so what you're seeing is we're actually in line to have 50 for the de the more legs we have in matches the more likely that is if these players get more than what they had yesterday was 45 hold on tight because today will be very very good I remember a day where there was 5280s I don't know if that's the official record but it was a day involved in the liks of well that was the infamous Gillan little day a group which also involved Andy Barton who at that point was probably one of the most prolific power scorers in the game 85 still is that's the problem when you you're playing amongst the elite all the time any mistake you make is pounced upon 135 and that's the thing about Scott at the minute he's playing so effectively he made that performance of Sykes he didn't make it looked bad 139 he almost suffocated syes with the fact that he had the dots and he had Brilliance in the locker 103 average five maximums 40% on doubles a ton plus check out of 130 to win the match match that in its entirety is a world class performance and if they're going to stop him today including these two they're going to need to find darts like that that W 4 ffs and leav in first to a finish and fr ski needing a trible here to do exactly that and so he's got six starts here for the 37 break a thr and a two1 lead in a game that fi can ill afford to L if lose if he har any Ambitions of winning this group a 61 why is it we've got players today changing color of flights and different types of barrels 45 Marvin you require 76 Neil do has changed a couple of things Marvin has changed to a different colored flight today it's all red just like that check out Marvin Van two legs one both on dou eight van velon 2-1 to the good and crule as well for him he's got that breaker throw which he needed at some point in the contest so opportunity here for him to really grow into the match he is the better player in the contest the numers indicative of that has an average Four Points higher than his opponent 60 yeah Jimmy averaging over 90 for the week just a sh had under 1990 and a half Marvin about a point and a half ahead of him but if you're playing to type at your improved level that means you are playing well we mentioned that game and that group that was in series 4 week8 131 180s across that group a we're currently at a grand total of 90 there's a possibility that record could be broken and particularly if Conor Scott score is scoring boots on and if dolls Banks find some mad stuff then we could very much be in business 92 the total for groupe so far a few weeks ago we had concurrent weeks where it was 99 180s for group a and the following week was 100 giving us an average of about 33 a day which is very doable but the fact that we are approaching 100 9 as we approach round two on Wednesday proves that this is Champions week interesting he didn't even think about going for the double there that was a leup that was I've got 240 yards to the green I can get there with my three-wood but pass me my wedge 14 that 140 leaves himself on a two but for 3-1 lead and I put him a leg away from 14 points joining Conor Scott on that Mark it's not just Connor who's doing the great board management that right there was Elite board management for Marvin and yes it's nice to take out big shots and sneaky good shots like 98 but the fact that he didn't even consider 180 taking it out with three dots he backed himself to get it in what would be two visits it just goes to show how sharp Marvin's mind is at the minute and they're both sharp on the trouble 20 Max number 93 of the week is followed by Max number 94 of the week if aelon wins this one then we may well be looking at a two horse race to win this group a between him and Conor Scott and they don't meet till game 10 today that's the first match from the fourth round of fixtures banger about goes above we know that Marvin's got form when it comes to nine DS on this stage because he hit one earlier on this series against Chaz basto well you know that 1993 was a good year 90 and 94 was a pretty good year as well because that was the year where we had our first PDC World Championship but between the years of 93 and 94 there was a split in this sport 140 and after today everybody's going to be split up there's going to be a three-way split one person leaves comes back Saturday two people go to the evening and three stay in the day double 18 for another one against Marvin 132 that could be the last D he froze in this contest because van Felson looking at 44 leaving at half nine against the throw to secure a 4-1 Victory and to join Scott on 14 points tops goes and Marvin Van velon shows no signs of relinquishing in this group pay he moves on to 14 points and it could well be a battle between him and Connor Scott for top honors in this group p and for the first place food to Champions night it's not a salute today it's just a thumbs up and he'll be happy enough for that performance average of 9879 couple of Maxis in there four and five on his doubles the finishing has been a real focal point for him he was 50% yesterday 80% in that game there against Jimmy Vani which he wins for one coming up after the break Neil Duff takes on Conor Scott win for Scott and he'll move on to 16 points [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] who is going to join Luke ller on the modus Super Series Ro Ro of honor at the end of this week we will have the series 8 champion and Connor Scott is the favorite to take that title and the way he started today well it looks like he might be making it through groupe although there's plenty of work to be done Scot with that 103 average and a 42 win against his nearest rival Tom Sykes at that stage 518 is in that match he takes on Neil Duff in his second game of the day and you'd have to say even though Duff is just two points behind SC and therefore could go level at the top of the table with victory in this one defeating it and it probably makes it very difficult for Duff to climb to the top of the table himself so let's get the action under way it's back to Paul and Henry first leg it's Neil to throw well Conor Scott is the man on this stage who you'd say is the most Keen but for Neil Dove everything's changing because not just as he changed his darts this morning he's also now changed his shirt between game one and game two he1 I think he's giving people ideas you know especially people like Peter Jake who's got about eight different color doart shirts maybe you can wear a different color shirt every game it's the same in football isn't it they change kit every game so why not in darts 45 keeps it fresh however Chris Murphy is 100% correct because now as we go into round two there are four four games left per player meaning if you want to get eight points more you have to win them all and if Duff loses he will be four points behind and only six points left for him to Cle that will be very very hard to do do I say this te must win for Neil Duffy loses this is probably over for him 100 if I may be honest I think Neil NOS coming into to day he's going to have to have his best here minimum eight points ideally 10 100 have with Neil it can sometimes be a little bit different the way that he sees the game because he will back himself in whichever group he drops into if he doesn't win this group a to be there on Saturday night he would like to win this group of course he does but he won't see it as his be on end we saw it in the last Champions week where Bradley Brooks lost out on legs difference to Bo grees and it had a knock effect in the group he never qualified as a result I don't think Neil will fall into that trap but he could fall into the Conor Scot trap of double eight to take out leg one game sha the first he looks in fine fettle this morning gets Conor to throw first game on Connor is playing so well today if he was a contestant un strictly he wouldn't be putting a foot wrong 45 well he'd be hoping to be the emperor in the tungsten Ballroom when we Strictly Come darting on Saturday evening Champions night is sold out here at the live loung P but tickets are on sale for every single Saturday night in series 9 and if you scan this QR code which you can see on your screen here it take you to a website called www.art shop.vac live Lou you fancy Autumn of darting entertainment and who knows you may see con sc one final time in this building because I highly suspect that when it comes to 2025 we won't be seeing him in this building one I have to agree I do get the feeling he's going to be going back to the protour next year so Embrace him while we've got him but if you are going to do.tv have a look at a couple of 140 the little windows on there because if you want to click on a certain window it'll take you to a ticket page for a certain week in November and there are two backtack weeks in November where you can get a full day dot game the second leg Cor this if it was a porker hand right now Connor Scott has got a full book because he's doing nothing wrong NE to throw first game on already got a pair and he's looking for another one to make everybody take notice even more 60 yes in November you've got ADC tour finals for the guys and the girls and if you want to come and watch that and you reserve your tickets for for it you'll not only get the ADC tour finals on the Saturday afternoon but you'll also get the weekly finals of the motor Super Series on the Saturday night so get yourself down here in November a great time to watch darts as it starts to get a bit chilly don't worry we'll keep you warm 140 with some Red Hot T and action a matter of fact I'm just equating the number of darts has Tak Conor Scott twin legs today WI tomes he won legs in 14 13 16 15 and in this game he's won legs in 15 and 13 he is not breaching the five visit G at any point and he's left himself on a finish after n in this late to get the double break his average is 112 140 121 see that's where things are different if Scott was on 271 he would have started on 19s double 14 93 now we Rec 131 so that check out's not going to go and the double that gave Connor his invitation to Champions week now beckons for a 3-n lead backto back 13 DS Connor Scott gets the double break he leads 3-0 average of 10.98 three for five on the dou and a matter of fact Connor Scott has lost two leg yest today both of them have been to t plus checkouts he's hardly left his opponent in0 single to double range as he hits his second 18 180 of this game and is seven for the day already 70 I'm not sure Neil has gotten his locker right now enough to take Connor out because Connor is playing that A5 grade stuff 57 that when he's on on it it can't be beaten I know I'm going early with this but if he can ratch up something in and around the 110 region on the back of the 103 average you had Tom Sykes we could be talking record average for a day in a group a territory here you've gone early there Henry gone very early but I see what you're seeing because the way he's playing at the minute it's entirely possible he could have this entire really important deer averaging in three figures and he only needs three more dots to get rid of do in less than seven minutes let's put an ey on Immaculate performance Conor Scott will set up tops after 12 this would be for a hattick of 13 D legs to cross the finishing line there's nothing that Neil Dove could have done about this in fact there's probably nothing most players could do about this this is a special player doing special things and it's another special play from Conor Scott it's an average of 11.33 a hattrick of 13 dark legs unlucky for Neil Duff but delightful for Conor Scott he moves on to a sweet 16 points in the group and he's looking as if he's beginning to sweep aside the field vanel is doing his best to keep Chase but you're trying to have to keep Chase with numbers like that 11.33 four from six on his doubles Scot demolishes Duff 40 and coming up after the break van felon looking to join Conor on that Mark if he can get the better of Thomas Banks welcome to the party in Port here at the motus liveline they both got the talent where they just real off leg after the leg and dish out a heavy defeat what a way to start the day we're up and running here week with a maximum well what a way to finish a 12 dark leg beautiful check out there from cam Crabtree only needs the one on the second leg darus what are you saying about efficiency third is that the moment that ree Robinson comes alive in this crucial Clash looks like he's going to go for it is right next to his favorite double top he gets the job done at the earliest possibility that is C Crabtree through case not so har Harrison gets the all important win the second leg Darius laow is it Darius a long time that clinch fist he gets the job done in the end was nodding to [Music] [Applause] the that she can unlock at any moment that is quality comp harison this would be a wake up welcome to the party in py should be a good marker for him and is it was a great guy on the first leg Andre Harrison a breaker throw for Andreas Harrison on the second leg secutive breaker throw double 16 and he does lead 11 but it's a beautiful 12 Trel 17 which he gets Bullseye for the win absolutely incredible by Andreas Harrison he's Andreas JY Harris [Applause] welcome back to the motor Super Series where Marvin vanven is about to take on Thomas banks in the fifth game of today's 15 and they are significant matches throughout of course it is Wednesday and that means that a group a winner will be crowned and this week of all weeks it's even more important because whoever does finish top of the table at the end of today's play will be at Champions night and if they did put averages on trophies then you could hand it to Connor Scott right now because he's averaging about 107 for the day and he's sending out a message to the rest of the players particularly Marvin Van Von who's the man closest to him a third win of the week against Thomas Banks here would see van velon go level on points with Scott and it wouldn't matter how well Scott plays if they both keep winning then that match between the two of them in game 10 today could prove to be the deciding factor Marvin though does need to keep getting the victories between now and then can he do that here let's find out I'll hand you back to Paul and Henry yeah thank you MF mvv knows his task he just has to keep winning and no matter what corner Scott does in reply in terms of ton plus averages will still be on the same points Mark if they follow each other all the way to game 10 140 his numbers for the day Connor Scott before we go on this match is absolutely W it's just ridiculous he's winning legs today he's once only once in eight legs one breached the 15 Dart range and that was a 16 Darter he's had four 13 DARS in eight legs a 14 Dart in a couple of 15s it's darts of a world class variety but he has now got a few games off so he has to sit back and wait to see what the chasing pack will do he's got to watch this he's got to watch Sykes against Jimmy 80 Duff will return against Marvin meaning that Marvin has two games before Connor plays again 60 and then as murf mentioned it will be Marvin against Scott in game 10 but if Scott keeps playing the weight that he has today he wins this group it's that simple he's just made mince meat of a world champion7 making me to what is the biggest week of his darting career since playing at the lakeside Banks is not going to fire the 132 and SO3 will return for8 to take out the opening leg the thing is he knows he has a control of the situation if vanzon goes through the card he qualifies for Saturday night second against Thomas to throw first and there's nothing that Conor Scott can do about that even if in the other matches he fires in 120 averages 128 don't think that it is academic that Marvin's going to win this match though even though he has beaten Thomas two times this week already 180 and there you have it 2 and 12, 1880s in this series 40 but the rate that we are getting 180s today my word 180s from every player in every match J see Thomas bankster hit one now I'm sure he'll oblige at some point 58 but he may not get much time the way that Marvin Van velon started he's seen his rival for group a glory color Scott come out of a couple of ton plus averages and he's looking to follow in kind he's aaging 108.1 two at this present moment in time and has left himself on 101 after n 100 now Banks knows that that was an unforced ERA there should have gone down for the 25 to leave himself on the fish does it make any difference 81 as it turns out it probably did there it is the little smile 14 as if to say I should have left 170 I didn't it was my mistake and I may well just pay the penalty for that dou 10 for Van felon for the breaker thr a 2-0 lead game on the second data2 the average but Thomas Banks this week is learning about that next level up in a qualification week he probably could get away with moments like that but when you put him with the big beast and the big sharks in the tank Small Things become major errors but it's all part of the developmental program for him we got a m he only 17 everything in terms of this week in terms of the experience playing in front of the lights for this amount of money under this amount to pressure at his early stage of his career these are only bonuses of course it's good progression winning something like this this week would be a bonus 43 but he is building up to being the player that he wants to be and he's not the first teenager to play in Champions week 58 off the top of my head I'm sure there's four Banks beety liter and ruse 58 by the way I've Got a Theory on uh Marvin's watch which I've been referencing an awful lot of the last few weeks because it's big he's called The Terminator it's obvious that golden watch with the massive face that's his time displacement equipment it's a time machine 100 Thomas Banks is running out of time in this contest so there is the said watch honestly it's so blingy it looks like a World Series of Poker bracelet 80 Thomas 147 how will the car's life for Thomas Banks is unable to take out the 147 and so 57 vanel maybe not looking so much for a royal flush as much as he's looking at the little fish to move fre nil to the good in this contest beautiful Dart for the ball 105 so close requ 90 and Banks has got to hit this 85 unfortunately that Miss 25 at a top double going low it has haunted him at times over the last three days and I get the feeling he's going to pay the penalty once again game thirdson who needs to make a move not just in points but in leg difference as well we can say at this point we think he needs to win 4-nil because even if he does win this leg and gets to 16 points with Scott 104 he's still going to be seven legs behind him well he's doing everything that he can at this P of B in on if he wins this game 4-0 then he would have played eight legs today sorry would have played nine legs today won eight conceded just one 91 you know how we've talked about progression we've talked about that with banks but with Marvin the first time he came here he looked promising 100 but essentially what Marvin and Jimmy have done done is they have led the pack for ADC Europe 100 to prove that the system of getting ADC Europe qualifies here works because through every single week in this series an ADC Europe qualifier has made Saturday night and I would be amazed if an ADC Europe qualifier didn't make Saturday night this week as well well banks are a great response in this leg on Thro has left himself 18 after 12 has not thrown the tower in this says everything about his temperament he's had a few games where he's found himself a long way behind but he hasn't changed it to but he cannot change a habit of Miss doubles though there finishing again with a 130 checkout that sounds familiar it happened in game two for his rival [Music] 120 unable to take out the double five like K Scot did and Banks makes no mistake on double n he frails his arms in the air he gets a leg on the ball but you could tell that he cutting a real fulled and frustrated figure at the back of the stage it's such a classic and typical dark player reaction when they hit the double they're going for and they're too busy thinking about the things that haven't worked well in the leg 56 must be something about this sport that just trials you between the ears four five six what do you get if you turn a six upside down that's right you get a N8 does he get a n require another nine nobody has done it twice in a series and Van velon isn't going to do it here and now incidentally that second 18 180 for Van Fon there was the 100 180 of the group 60 which means we're probably going to get something in the region of 125 45 that is1 well this has been an off the scale performance from van velon it's not quite been the meteoric kites of conis Scott but he is doing his own thing playing it a very high level and has left tops after 12 for a 4-1 win averaging an excess of 95 100 40 to put himself on 16 alongside ctis Scott tooms is found for 13 da and Marvin Van B joins Conor Scott on 16 points he's played two matches and won both matches by a 4-1 score line Jimmy vanki and Thomas Banks both beaten by MVP who's looking to be the MVP come the end of the day well it was a blockbuster performance an average just under 96 four from8 on the doubles and if it wasn't for the work of his rival at the top of the table we'd be saying it was spectacular but Scott has just gone and raised that level even more so but V are very much in the equation he still has it in his own hands if he wins his last three games he'll be through to Champions night on debut we're going to take a short break when we return we are going to watch Tom syes take on Jimmy [Music] vanki on a minute wow oh my God [Music] that's under quit down the drain already itching to hit the 180 he's gone for the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] maximum 18 for the ball bull 53 no he said bull that's a great first out from Adam look at this he's going to leave scap oh can you believe it that is [Music] [Applause] unbelievable match darts to put his team into the final and through to the final they go Charlie Murphy has hit the match winning dart on both occasions double four for the title [Music] [Applause] the please show your appreciation for the winner of the influencer pirs of event George SCA and Adam [Applause] [Music] [Applause] lip out he seems to be uh he seems to be out that's what he is Charlie M A couple more visits yet we're not going to need that BOS P faces through gets absolutely buz was that dominated throughout [Music] [Applause] [Music] Char welcome back to the motor Super Series where Jimmy vany and Tom Sykes are about to do battle for the third time this week and it's a big match for the big Dutchman here because his hopes of winning the group would be over if he were to suffer defeat to Sykes in the same manner as he did yesterday he lost 4-0 to Tom Sykes yesterday brilliant performance from the yorman who is still harboring realistic Ambitions of winning this group but his might get less realistic with defeat here he'd be four points a drift of van and SC who seem to be now The Runaway top two so van SK to stay in it mathematically Sykes to stay in it realistically which one will get the job done it's time to find out in the company of henryon and Paul Nicholson game on thanks murf we love this fixture it has been a final on a Saturday night in a weekly sense before but before we go any further Henry and I have just been talking off the air and this is game six six and today's gone really quickly 4 but this is what Tom Sykes has done already today he's played one match he's averaged nearly 94 he's had two t plus checkouts meaning two dots at a double he's hit them both and we're not sure how today could have gone worse for him 180 it seems inconceivable to say such a thing but it's true it's so true because all of the other contenders that could have made it worse for him they are buzzing and they're not losing but it feels like a damage limitation job for Tom SES right for the GetGo because if he loses this game to Jimmy vanki then he'll see Jimmy move on to 12 Neil Duff's on the same number and then it looks like we'll be cut into two different battles the race for third play first place and then the race to see who's going to take the final spot in group b 100 the only thing thing we know right now is that Thomas Banks is going to group C that's it that's all we've got Jimmy 123 at the end of round two on Wednesday J 18 would have given and GE a dart at the ball and this is the first time that Tom sits is going to get a dart at a double on something that's not a t plus check out double six does not go and already been a Wednesday of row could get a whole lot worse if Andi can find double four down for double two and he moves into a one n lead with the break I'm not 100% sure that came out of his hand right but it still went in went in a little bit sideways however Tom is a bit of a warrior 96 even if he doesn't win this group no matter which group he goes into he's going to be one of the favorites if not 9 the favorite remember what happened in Series 6 he won group a he didn't win the week he lost in the final who did win it the person who won Group B and that was Scott Taylor there's one thing we know about Tom he's got an engine0 he can win after playing for five days and the only time Jimmy van has not played a full week here was the previous Champions week where he played two days and he did not make the Champions night 45 remember five of The Seven Super Series champions have actually come from group6 Jimmy 137 something about that group which Harbors success on a Saturday night maybe getting used to playing at night 97 Tommy require 147 beautiful first start he's not going to get another crack at a t plus check out that would have been the most difficult of the Lot 12 he faced so far require 40 tops for Jimmy no hesitation game sh the second game looks pretty sharp two lead over Sykes is making things worse for the man from Castleford the leg Tom to first gameer I'm disappointed we didn't get a wink 135 business head on for Jimmy Vani today and we have said that he's very good at 59 putting both aspects of his game in the right direction in the in the respect of he will have a bit of fire he will sometimes play it to the cameras but he also knows when to be ultra serious to the job as Sykes finds his second 180 of the game four between the pair yeah don't be fooled as well if you think that these combatants this week8 are coming into it and thinking when Saturday is over I'm going to be taking a bit of a break because it's mission accomplished they're all doing something next week double 10 didn't need to do it but does it anyway Third Leg another T plus check out for Sykes the best of the bunch so far it's Jimmy to throw first Tom syes has won three legs today they've all been with t plus checkouts had a 12 data to keep himself in the contest 140 now here's a funny startat for you before today Tom Sykes had one t plus check out this week he's got three today already and the strangest thing is 100 all of the t plus check he's got today were better than the previous one because the biggest he had was 101 100 and the best bit about it is for the day Tom syes is running it let's say 94 for the sake of argument and he's tell one three legs he's had to win all of them with t plus checkouts now if you're watching this and you have played here before or are aspiring to play here and you think or you may have said to your ID DC Vault Pals I can win that 13 I can make that Champions Nate can you can you really can you play to this level can you beat this level be honest with your Jimmy require 40 if you think you can come and do it then game Jimmy van just put in a 14 D leg and he is not playing badly at all but he's got an average 10 less than sakes and it's two ahead however we've said it before you can play to a lower level in terms of the averages and still win if your timing is bang on and for Vani he is 50% on the double so far when he's getting opportunities he is taking opportunities 140 the thing about Jimmy is that he's so strong in mind 60 and he's so big a presence if you cut him in half he'd probably still be six fo tall but everything he has done in the last 18 months to continually progress as a dark player it's definitely bubbling up to something 100 requ continued success wherever he goes or should I say it about everybody in this group continued success wherever 49 there go well this is a match that on most other days would be given as game of the day it probably doesn't even make the top three right now and we're only in game six you're talking about top three of the day right never mind top three of the week 32 this is for another five visit leg and that is becoming part for the course a 13 dart on the back of the 14 D to aveng ski said a 12 the leg before that and so basically you're going to have to do special things to win legs today five visits is the bare bare minimum the difference in the averages is 13 points but looking at the doubles that's world class wherever you're playing 50% 901 every now and again you are going to get someone who averages less than you and beats you but the wider that Gap the more infuriating it feels 59 I being selfish when I hope that Champions week is every week if this is the standard 100 if we had this standard every week can you imagine what a great week would then become 140 Jimmy we are not taking this standard for granted we are enjoying it while it's here these are all winners 48 Champions week by name Champions week by Nature Champion being the key words this could be the final words as far as this match is concerned because Vani looking at the one two2 to complete a 4-2 win it' be backto back 4-2 defeats to Kickstart the day for Tom Sykes who Fe to stay in this contest may need his fourth t plus checkout of the day 54 the biggest of the bunch it needs to go double 10 oh boy we were all shaking in our boots waiting for that one but that might be the final act for Tom syes Jim in sixth game of the day Vani on 68 and he has already taken this finish in this match Tom Sykes averaging just under 99 but he may be about to lose this game because Vani looking at double 16 to cross the Finishing Line and that's as close as it could get without going in 10 he was trying to bounce it in he almost threw it too hard one more chance chance taken oh boy this stuff is so exciting Paul Nicholson looks like kid on Christmas day about to open up his presents just give me this for Christmas it's one of the rare days that we don't play darts here in Portsmouth you talk about Christmas day it looks like Tom Sykes has opened up the wrapping paper that was given to him by Father Christmas and he's come up with a lump of coal 60 I do actually have something very similar to a lump of Co sitting on my mantle piece 60 Icelandic lava actual piece that I brought back from Iceland recently just a reminder that this planet can be doing very strange things like that you could probably hear the background there ow Binks just confirming to Jimmy that the third Dart was not touching now the point has to penetrate the board for it to count as a scoring in fact there's been a couple of moments this week where we've had to just explain the rules a little bit because one or two quirky things have happened do you know what that's called I've brought up a name for it I don't know whether it's a a a universal term in the sport but when a dark happens like that and it skews and sits sideways I call it a samurai because it sits there like a samurai sword on its Rock if it dangles that's a hat stand well the powers of a recovery have been strong in Tom Sykes and he's going to get a dart for the match at double 16 it does a go but he's got a prefer time because vanki is nowhere to be seen they've had a lot of different results 140 in their careers a lot of them2 have been 4-2 this one's going to be 4-3 is it going to be Sykes who wins it yes is the answer and finally Tom Sykes is on the board he gets that first win and that was hard work he had to come back from behind to get the better of Jimmy van ski by four legs of free a shake of the head from the yorman as he departs the stage he might be thinking what might have been even at this early stage that's how the game went from a statistical Viewpoint an average of just under 94 four from 11 on the doubles including another T plus checkout the one join the 109 and 112 we're going to take a short break and after it we're going to kickart round three as we see Neil Duff in action and he takes on Marvin Van velon who's very much Keen to get to it [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back to the modor Super Series on Champions week where we've played six matches so far on Wednesday the final day of group a and somebody will make it through at the end of it here's what's happened Neil Duff a four3 win against Thomas Banks Connor Scott then turning on the style in both of his wins actually 4-2 against Tom SES and 4 nil against St in which he averaged north of 111 Marvin Van velon also has two wins to his name and Tom Sykes has a victory as well a couple of players have fallen off the tungsten tight RPP of course there is a safety net here at the Super Series a secondary group for Thomas Banks and Jimmy vany who bows out of contention of winning the group after that defeat two PES before the break and the same will apply to Neil D if he loses a game that is about to take place between himself and one of the two players tied at the top Marvin Van velen that pair about to do battle on the stage here at the Super Series right now and for the first time today Marvin vanon goes out to bat before Connor Scot so gets the opportunity to Pro pressure on Scott by winning this game as I say Duff out of the running to top the group with defeating this one van velon will go top of the group if he gets the win and it's time to hand you back to Paul Nicholson and Henry Deacon yeah thank you Mur and on a day like today how Key May these psychological battles be because for the first time today Marvin vanon can top the group will that just change the dynamic when SC takes on Jimmy Vani but first things first he's got to win against Neil Duff who I think because of what was handed to him by Connor in his previous match May well have a bit of Vengeance on this particular stage 140 do you think Conor Scott Minds that right now he actually wants that he inflicts 100 that 40 on off with that 111 average and the next thing he wants is the person he's just beaten to go out and do that to Marvin but there are so many different intricacies that are still possible here we know that Jimmy vanki and Thomas banks are going to a secondary group this week that will be communicated to them immediately however if Duff wins this game he'll go within two points of the top with the knowledge that someone is going to get to 18 in the next few games so a four-point gap is inevitable it's incredibly unlikely that Duff is going to win this group but if he wins his final three matches he will ask the question talking about asking questions almost fired 1 36 to Kickstart the batch however van are not on the scene so he is going to get three more to take out the opening leg 105 now your requir 16 that's the kind of start that Neil wanted that's the kind of stuff that Connor Scot was doing to him 13 da Marvin to throw first game 97 let's not forget Neil is the type of player that again even if he cannot win a group or he can't do one thing or another he'll like the idea of making somebody else's life difficult being that spoiler stopping somebody from doing something if he can't do something himself [Music] doesn't it well if you can't have it nobody can it's actually the right way I've gone about things in singles dots 100 I suppose in a sense groups B and C are like our repage which is something that the Olympics brought in in their track and field events I think it was a really good introduction but let me assure you of this if this format of group a group b and Group C wasn't popular and if the players didn't think it was fair and the viewers didn't like it it wouldn't have been going on for more than two years 87 we are approaching the 2-year anniversary of being here in Portsmouth that Infamous night where Kier andan became the first weekly champion in this venue third of SE any 4 is next Tuesday so perhaps appropriate that we're going to Crown an eighth Champion just a few days shy of that particular Mark and Ne d a man who's won five weekly titles in this bu if include the double start win that he got we'll be hoping to complete the set by winning this Champions week 40 vanon in this leg look at at top to screw up at one one both players having to go about the TB Mark right now game that's really well done he's had a lot of Joy on tops this week but he had to work really hard to take that leg on that bed Third Leg it's Neil to throw first game on do you think Steve West thinks that Neil should count that double start as a weekly title there's no rivalry between the two of them trust me 100 but Steve's got five weekly motor Super Series wins whereas Neil's got four plus double start you know for a fact now now we've said it live on the air that if we interview Steve at any point this week he will bring it up 95 I think it's four weekly wins plus a specials week but if you think about this way and I'm looking at it as Devil's Advocate whoa there only one special Champion isn't there in the mail game because women's week was won by Rano Sullivan Neil dff is the only double start Champion what would you rather have five weekly wins or four plus being the only special player anyway it's just don't put a poll out there for that one one 135 throwing it around a little bit it is Champions week after all I'll let you deal with that can of worms niiko van Felson looking at 97 for the break of throw to put himself two one up in this contest every win is of the utmost importance for him every leg is of the utmost importance for him went double double 31 here we require only left on 66 if he returns if becomes when sounds like a really bad space girl song 83 Mar requ two DARS both one person gets a chance to break and this could be one of the most important periods of this match chance on tops but with one and this time he's right on the Money Marvin Van he gets one opportunity to reestablish top spot in the group albeit with his closest rival having that game in hand but Scott's got to play Jimmy vany who now has complete freedom and it could be moments like that checkouts like that on combinations where players have one Dart in a hand and a double which could be the key difference today we are at the Midway point of our program on this Wednesday here at Champions week by the end of it somebody will be the first to claim a spot of the coveted Champions night and be the first in the race to win Β£25,000 the biggest prize pul ever assembled here at the Super Series it looks like it's going to be a two horse race between Marvin vanon and Conor Scott and just to mark your card a little bit further for them two go Toe to Toe in game 10 of our session so that's the first game of the fourth round of fixes and after that the Los will only have one game to recover the situation and hope that the other loses can if as we think it may will be that it all goes according to plan 55 there so much thought going into every visit here from Marvin I think he knows exactly what he needs to do he can't slip up once today had a chat with Marvin about process over the course of the week and for him it sets himself right there was times on Monday in particularly in the game against Tom S where he realized that he was getting drawn into the pace and that for him just setting himself for that first start helps him for the entirety of the visit it settles him down and it means nothing becomes thrown away or nothing becomes edgy he's been a lot more accurate when it comes to the 20s and the treble 20s today his dragging to the left has being minimized which is something I implored him to work on last night I don't know whether he did but whatever he's done in the last 20 hours I saw it seems to be bearing fruit at this time and that mistake from Neil is like fruit falling from a tree into the palm of Marvin and he's very hungry double top again 71 he's now got the luxury of coming back it was almost a free hit at tops there for van vels and for this 77 he's must hit now 40 H he should game he does Marvin vanson it's not just a lead but it's actually a healthy one if he can break for a second time immediately it will be the ideal win really I know that 4-0 is exactly what he wanted but 3-1 at this stage pretty fair 4-1 you would grab it with both hands and before we go any further I just want to send a m super series happy birthday to our close friend and colleague Matthew Edgar many happy returns Matt wherever you are whatever you're doing probably in amongst all of his Collectibles counting them up as usual and he's not the only person celebrating their birthday today Johnny Tata from New Zealand someone who we haven't had here yet Marvin 140 you teas but he is strolling towards the wi and before I run out of time happy birthday to my old pal Brian roach from Australia and local boy who does a lot for the local youth teams and the acmy Danny pinhorn well looking to pin his third consecutive 4-1 Victory today he's left himself on a ton after nine we said of the beginning of the session yes he needs to win a lot of games but he also had to win a lot of games big well 41 wins is putting him 60 right on the coattails of 100 Conor Scott he's making sure it's not a possession for the sniper and he's very much in the equation he looks at tops tops not going to get there he didn't go tops tops there remember the 98 from earlier he went 18 20 and 20 he's done exactly the same again he's gone for the 60 with dart one then he's just led up with two big singles 44 Marvin so smart but this is for the match and for a third consecutive 4-1 win Marvin Van is the Victor once more and Neil Duff has been hit by a couple of hay makers backto back heavy defeats for him but for that man there there is reason to smile he's very much in the equation he's now top of the group for the first time today he's on 18 points and he forces Conor Scot to get the better Jimmy van ski after the break but first things first this is the tail of the tape from match seven vans in a 4-1 Victor against Neil D average of 9415 four from 11 when it came to the finishing and so it's he who now moves to the top of the table and for the first time today Conor Scott finds himself in P2 he can return to the summit if he beats Jimmy van ski and we'll be watching that match on the other side of this short break [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] next up then the middle match of the day at the motor Super Series champions week in group a is nearing its conclusion and Connor Scott has been the standout star of the final day of this first group of the week he's going to take on Jimmy van ski in game eight of the Day game three for the pair of them and Scot's numbers have been staggering so far in his Opening match he got a 4-2 win against Tom Sykes then tied on the same number of points he averaged 103 and hit 5 180s in that one and upped it in the next game when he defeated Neil 40 averaging 11.33 big numbers and a big match here because despite that he actually finds himself second in the table behind Marvin Van velon after that win for the Dutchman before the break can he beat the other Dutchman in the group in this one to return to theit let's find out Henry and Paul are on standby yeah yes it's little and large in terms of this group a but not maybe in the way that it looks in terms of height because this is a huge game for Connor Scott W winning group is now to little significance of Jimmy van ski it's the only time Jimmy van ski will ever be 140 yeah you're definitely right there but here is a scenario that Marvin dearly wants 85 he'd like his pile Jimmy to do him a favor to take out Connor if Jimmy does that and Marvin beats Connor Marvin wins the group sounds simple enough not simple at all especially when you consider how well Connor's played today but is the level that he's playing at sustainable for the day or has he played his best St already 12 out over possibly the next seven legs well Scott first finishing Le leaving himself 138 after to 12 46 138 cannot keep close enough order so six them here for Scott to take out leg one 62 terms of today has only dropped a couple of legs in a couple of matches and both of them were to ton plus checkouts by Tom syes so to win a leg against con today you've had to do something special 56 a 170 albeit a very slim one but when your opponent who's been playing the best startart of the week n leaves 20 after 18 dots he's already given you a chance which you didn't take well that means Conor scottt will play at least group only need a leg in this match to guarantee that although I'm sure that that is a complete and utter irrelevance to him because there's only one thing on his mind right now that is to win this group pay well if you consider what he said yesterday he's probably already packed his bag he said I am going home after group a if I win it 180 so by virtue of that he expects to win the group and has probably already already got a suitcase in the car 57 he's probably thought about which Motorway service station to stop at as well it's only an hour unless he needs fuel but the amount of enthusiasm that Connor has he could probably fuel his own car with it 140 100 164 hold on oh boy that was close I think Jimmy was holding his breath and now he's got a chance to equalize but he really did think he wasn't going to get this this is only the third D of double that Conor Scott has had against him all day long and it's the first one missed against him today eight for 2-0 cruise control from the second Connor Scott has this game where he wants he may just have this group he wants it as well fer gets Connor to throw nowhere near his best in comparison to his other two performances let's be honest let's goore through the series there have been dominant performers in different series that we've had over the last couple of years cornan whad won series one 100 and he did it the hardware he did it through two groups by the end of it he won the final by a distance and felt like he was 8 foot tall 100 Raymond Smith did it really hard he was only third in group b but ended up winning the whole thing about the most academic n one we've ever seen was Series 3 where liter one group a and ended up winning on the Saturday everything else well it hasn't been easy even Jim MCU and Series 5 he had to go through group C he didn't even qualify for group a 95 don't get me started on Scott Taylor backto back weeks one week 12 played two weeks in week 13 99 I think he played 58 games something like that in the course of two weeks 6 con require 144 98 I'm going to say this about man avering 89 but conis Scot's playing poorly in comparison Jimmy's got to take advantage of it and he's not doing so he six so if Connor is in cruise control he's probably only in gear number two and he's still winning and the worrying thing for Marvin is that he's winning by a long distance for it's Jimmy to throw first if Connor gets another 4-n his leg difference will be nine better than that of Marvin before they play each other 9 isn't today an incredible example of how far he has come as a player over the last couple of years we were both at the lakeside when he was a very big favorite to win the first ever wdf World Championship he lost to a Canadian qualifier Shaw Bert in the prelim round a couple of years ago he was very talented but he was also very raw and with every experience that he has had over the last couple of years he has used it he's gained it he has sponged every think that has happened up in his brain and he is using it as a utility tool to turn him into this monster of a player that looks like he's about to burst once again onto the scene 89 he made a semi-final of a proor event shortly after getting through Q school we all thought at that point cornor Scot's for real but his journey was not a straight line but at the minute if his career was a graph it is definitely on a very nice upward Trend 146 he's left 32 after 12 will he get a look at it Jimmy doesn't like that lie he doesn't have to go for 57 he might go 51 here oh this is different Bullseye that would have been finished of the week right there that was great thinking this game could be finished off cuz Scott was double 16 and now double eight and that would have been for backto Back 40 wins 25 decides on tens and because he doesn't hit it his creativity and his execution may be punished two fours a back 4N wins and Conor Scott here he having a bit of a play time on the doubles he's missed 10 the outering in this match but vanki has not been able to punish up until there he brings it back to 31 but the issue that the Dutchman has is the sniper has the arrows in this F leg Connor is furious he is beyond livid right now he knows he should be walking down the steps 134 but it might fuel him even more but can we please go back to that 146 please pay attention to some of these players if you are trying to learn the intricacies of the dart board there's more than one way to take a shot out if you've only got the one opportunity Jimmy has just proven that survey the do board like it's a calculator 96 they're thousands of different ways for shots well ker Scott saw red after losing the last leg and is now hitting all the Reds and hitting all the greens and he could be teeing up 4-1 win in next to no time at all well not the Steeler analogy at all but Connor Scott has opened up his Christmas present and in the last leg he did get a lump of call now he wants an apple or an orange bull for Tops but that's a wild one 50 heads down to leave himself on double 16 to put himself back to the top of the pile and ensure that game 10 is an effective shootout it's a 4-1 win for Corner SC a 13 T SE him over the line against Jimmy Vani and this incredible day for the sniper continues he is straight off the stage he knows he's got business to two in game 10 against Marvin vanel is beating Jimmy van ski by four leg to one that the tail of the tape from that particular contest well the game of the day is Van velen against Scott that's going to be in roughly half an hour's time but before that almost the old derve to proceedings is Thomas Banks against Tom Sykes and for Tom Sykes if he wins this game he's only a couple of points off the top two n [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] yeah yeah [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] Hur where [Music] well the Stag is set the top two keep winning and Tom Sykes is there now at the point of no return the former finalist at a Champions week needs to win this match against a 17-year-old Thomas Banks if he is to remain in contention to win group a he's done that before as well but we'll need to win all his remaining games and hope for slip UPS above him with van velon and Connor Scott playing in the game that follows this one that could be the one that determines who wins a group ultimately however Tom Sykes can keep himself in contention now has played some decent s he still got a big smile on his face he be grinning at the end of the game it's time to find out with Paul Nicholson and Henry Deacon talking you through it yeah thank you very much murf 58 so any faint hopes that Tom Sykes has in terms of making it through successive groupes of the Champions week all relied on this game and then pretty much relies on everything else going his way the latter end of the day he takes on Thomas Banks who will in his final three match of his group a campaign before playing in group C will want to try and 100 draw as much confidence as possible ahead of his second group and that was what he did the last time he played his qualification week he finished with a bit of a bang and then had a be in his Bonnet ahead of a campaign in group C 58 I feel a little bit sorry for Tom today because all of the headlines have been stolen by Marvin and Connor it's not as if syk has played poorly at all he's averaging close to 94 for the day but those numbers are looking rather Placid compared to the stuff that's been thrown against him and Thomas Banks is following suit starting with a 14 leg that lasted 65 seconds and did you also see the pace that Thomas Banks has put into his throw he's almost throwing at Double speed 80 this is what happened when he won his week he established a paer and a rhythm that he thought was his best and he stuck with it and it was a winning formula4 100 we do know that Banks is going to be in group C this week which means he's going to be up against Derek Coulson the week 12 winner it's going to be up against Jim long who won all the way back at week two39 and Paul Hogan who won in the middle but the pace of those games he's going to have to be patient which is why when he was playing Simon Adams in his week that might be an experience he can use 145 never even hesitated about going for that I think the gloves are off now 94 Tommy you require 25 Sykes is going to fight instead of flight when he's in this precarious situation but he's missed the big number there and so it's only going to be the the One D at Double four they only need the one anyway whenever we are at one a piece come on then everybody you've seen three different Dart shirts from tomes this week which was your favorite was it the one that looks like a pair of early 90s rebok pump other trainers are available did you like the black and orange from Monday or did you like the white and orange from yesterday 60 well this shirt looks like the seat covers you had on a bus back in the 1990s not that you would know that 41 you've just seen certain programs in relation to it I know how much you like the bus channel 60 you wen't wrong though they were quite dective back then 100 do you get the feeling that Tom is almost he's not searching for a dating identity I I did mention that earlier in the week I think maybe he's trying a few things which is absolutely fine well he's very much part of a new trend of darts player that through his manager and various other people that he works with are trying to create a Tom Sykes brat that his talent is immense and that Talent looks after itself but ENT identify himself at the next level like a lot of players are trying to do you need to have that brand behind it let me P him the ultimate compliment as he leaves another 170 chance somebody might walk up to him in the street and ask him what he does and he will say to them I'm a dark play 170 and their next reaction to that is the best possible compliment to someone who misses another 170 you don't look like a dark player that's a compliment what's this game that was different Third Leg Thomas Banks if you like a lot of chocolate on your darts join this club first because some of the checkouts we're seeing today are pretty much so unconventional that a Chocolatea couldn't even think them up40 well well well Wednesday at Champions week really is delivering in high dotage in high drama in high entertainment in high scoring 125 well we're establishing some similarities between young players and estab established players and aspiring players of course but one number that followed Luke liter around was1 180 so we now looking at 112 for banks yeah but I think Tom Banks may have just rattled the cage of Tom sights because look at his eyes look at the anger the sheer anger in his face and the sheer determination 46 he's missed a couple of double and that will irk him a bit more well I'm surprised he went that route for 222 because isn't it four blls si in a double 11 Sykes is in no mood to mess around to faf around but he is having a bit of a faf on the doubles another ball 103 Tommy requir two that reaction was very similar to one that Rory mroy had in the 18th Gren of austa a couple of years ago when he hul a bunker shot well two2 in this one and this one isn't dull but then again we haven't had a dull game all week this has been so good over the last couple of days I fear to think what we're going to get the next couple of days when we go double dosage on Thursday and Friday is that I want it that this is one of the worst games of the day statistically 58 doesn't feel like it that's why today has been so crazy because we have not seen a bad game all day long in matter of fact so far today of the 16 recorded averages that we've seen so far the lowest average of any players Jimmy Vani 8078 and the next one up from that is an 83.2 7 that is how good the standard has been 100 and more than 50% of the averages recorded are above the 90 Mark 10 that's what you get from a Champions week that's what you get from players who are playing with confidence 14 his Banks going ahead again there's that trouble 12 game sh the fif leg and there's the double aank I think the writing may just be on the wall for syes now in a live sense he is third in the table he's 19 legs behind Connor Scott and if he loses this leg of the next he's going to be four points behind as well and that is something he can't bridge and there's now a lot of darts dropping low for Tom sights is that an indication potentially that in his mind not that the race is run but that adrenaline that has been causing for is just beginning to wne that maybe he feels like the job is done and that his chances are done he doesn't want to take his eye off the ball because even if he loses to Thomas here 100 he's got people on his tail for that good base spot Neil Duff is only two points behind him 60 and he's got a play do in game 11 what lead banks on a finishes needs to find something tangible here and he has found that first D which has eluded him for the most part of the day he leaves himself an 86 may just be a dart at the balls ey to take us to a deciding leg but it's an 86 he's going to have to find it's 32 game and it is very very pretty tomes because at time this week that bed has cost him an awful lot he puts it right thas if he doesn't break he's going to play tomorrow and on Frid here it is all on the line here for Tom SES it's just laid bear has to win this leg to stand any chance to have any faint hope but from that point onwards he's going to need every single result to go his way and he's probably going to have to win his last couple of matches 4-0 56 I'm just trying to look at the glass half full for Tom he's won a group a in Champions week before he didn't win the week so by virtue of not winning this group 100 he has a fresh challenge of sorts to try and get what he was so close to getting in Series 6 he can do it a different way four what he four well the cars of a taret is going to have to lick his wounds and lick them very quickly 92 if he doesn't win this game and that looks a real distinct possibility now because Banks pretty much has this last leg where he wants it although a maxi a maxi would change proceedings because it means that syes is going to get first go and out 58 380s in this game 160 seems regulation 138 this week we've seen a couple of different routes nobody so far has been using the 17s seems like the 19s is the most popular route these days tops his left can Sykes finish right now he's had three t plus checkouts today he may need a four he went tops tops he was unable to find so Thomas Banks to end Tom Sy is Fain toes are winning group a he's looking at Double 10 20 that is three match starts missed and he's got a very sore left hand he was not high-fiving himself he was livered that is a win for Sykes he gets one opportunity and he takes it so still has a very faint chance of getting through this group but he knows that somebody is going to go to 20 points in the next game he's done his job he's going to have to continue to Chase and he chased Banks all the way to the end where he took the final double one match D required he took it he takes the two points but now he take a break before that Titanic match between Scott and Van velson [Music] using [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] w [Music] w [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] great [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] welcome back to the modus Super Series where Tom syes has just kept himself in contention in groupe on this Champions week um it's still unlikely we're going to talk about the next match which may be the determining Factor next poll but you have to give credit to the rest of the players on a day where two of them really have made a statement yeah and a very even Keel of a statement as well because before we get into it they're undefeated they've got the same leg difference for the day but they don't have the same leg difference for the week and that could be the deciding factor but that's for a little bit later on I think if you were to strip back the fact that it's Champions week that uh they've played what is it 13 games each uh coming up to this this is just a game of two players in form that we want to watch but if you add everything else to it it just has a lot more to it and the way that Connor played today I think if he'd had a third game of the day which was the same as the previous two Marvin would be thinking have I got anything that can trouble this guy but he's had a bit of a blip even though he's still won by a distance so it's got all the ingredients we could possibly want just quickly on the game we've just seen Toms is still harboring a small chance of winning the group but in terms of getting into Group B how important could that last leg of being with banks missing and Sykes stepping in with that 64 huge because if banks gets the win then you've got Sykes against duff duff beats Sykes they're all square and it goes to the final round so having that breathing space of winning that game from behind against the darts as well it's probably going to work in syk's favor because it's very unlikely he's going to make the top now because of the leg difference of Scott and with both of these players we're about to see being ahead of them in the in the points so as far as Group B is concerned Tom SE has done himself one heck of a favor certainly has and this is how the table looks um with just a couple of games left to play for everyone you can see that huge leg difference for Connor scottt so we'll tell you exactly what he needs to do in the next game because he potentially could secure winning the group in It Marvin vanel and looking to get the win to put himself in Pole Position it is such a big game are we looking at the winner winning the group it seems easy to say that doesn't it but this group keeps delivering a yo-yo effect we started with Marvin Winning Monday Connor is at the top after Tuesday and we just don't know what's going to happen next and isn't that a great thing coming into the final two rounds in a group a situation any group a situation never mind Champions week it's been one of the best standards we've ever seen at this stage of a Champions week and we still got two rounds to go and now we can add the extra drama which is what we were talking about last night as far as the level is concerned we've definitely gone up another notch from yesterday but now if the level drops back a little bit more we wouldn't mind it because now the nerves kick in abely let's talk about each of these two players then in a bit more detail um Connor Scot the way he started the day he really was saying look this is mine you're going to have to take it off me yeah because he really wants these two days off to go and spend it with the family and prepare in his own space but there have been times today when he's been throwing dots at that treble 20 and he's made it look about the size of a slice of cheese as in flat on the table not the width of it as you look at it from the side but there there are times when he plays dots and makes it look so simple it is anything but simple these segments are small when we zoom into them they look bigger but the way he's playing at the minute they look massive and every now and again he proves why he's such a worldclass d player yeah um by my maths I think if he wins this game he's going to win the GP get that confirmed but uh van velon really does need to get the win here doesn't he we saw him yesterday towards the end of day you mentioned it earlier in the show pressure game and he started drifting his darts to the left have you seen a difference today has he put that right he has and I've done a quick calculation of his numbers for the day and he's 96 as an average for the day that is still five points down on Connor Scott's average but he's looked more ready for the challenge today than maybe ever and it's only a few weeks ago that he was here winning through a gr Bay situation hitting a n da winning the week he desperately wants to get a Saturday and he doesn't want to have to do it over the next days I applaud what he's done today he's been a brilliant Pro and now he's got to do even more of it right it might be the same question this but who's going to win this game and who's going to win this group well I haven't checked my results yet I don't know who's got the dott but I'm going to go with the person who's got the dots there we go then let's have a look at the game is about to get underway top of the table T so Paul's on the fence you'll be on the edge of your seat let's get the game underway it is Paul Nicholson and Henry Deacon talking you through it it's lights camera action and this may well be the act that seals somebody's Place food to Champions night on Saturday evening Conor Scott and Marvin vanel that have been on a collision course since pretty much d one of this group these two met in the very first game of Champions League Marvin Van velon won by four legs to three and ever since that point these two have been jousting it out for group a honors this what could well be the game where it is secured for one of them a win which would put them on the CP of what would be their biggest night here at the Super Series both on their Champions week debut but only one of them can secure the first ticket food to Champions night it's marvan van velon that has the darts a metric that Paul Nicholson in the studio a couple of moments ago thought was the decisive metric and that's mainly because even though Connor Scott has done what he's done all day Marvin vanon has been able to keep Pace 180 here we go then he starts with a Max what does he do with visit two 56 now Marvin is on 351 he cannot leave a finish with a Max and he decides to go 60 this is a strong start I said the person who has the dots could win this game it's a bit of a 50/50 game because Marvin's playing the best start of his week so far he's averaging 96.3 for the day with 50% on his doubles Connor 10155 for the day with 39% on his doubles and that came drastically down down after his last performance well we had it confirmed we thought it was likely but we can give the confirmation and the Declaration that if Conor Scott wins this game he'll win the group he did have a eight leg buffer on Vans before Dart was F so thus with one round of matches remaining and plus nine legs difference even with a 43 win would be insurmountable for mvv and Scott looking to get off to a perfect start a flying start a t topping start a 117 to break the throw of M and Conor Scott is three legs away from Champions night to throw first game on and if he makes it and he's got friends and family who want to come 134 I Hope they've already bought tickets cuz there's none left we're going to learn something new Marvin vans in here because everything he's done on this journey right until now has been a free world for him this is the first time he has had a pressure match of this magnitude is this starting to have the same sort of feel as Bradley Brooks in the previous series if he doesn't get the job done here in group a getting through group b is going to be just as tough 100 Because by the looks of it if Connor wins the group Group B will be Richard Rollins Steve West Adam Pon and Tom Sykes potentially well Conor Scott here is going mad 12 Dart in the first he's on for a potential 11 D to to go two up and to put into the halfway point double 10 game Shan the second L well I am a big fan of the band Queen and if Connor scuts I'm sure his favorite track right now will be I'm going slightly mad 25.25 is the exact average of a 12 dot leg 100 24 dots to put him halfway there and because we know how good Conor Scott is we may as well mention straight away that the record average is 12 2.69 attained by darl Pilgrim this time last year against any old a culta do you remember though and not that I'm going to try and take anything away from that performance the best we've seen since Pilgrim but if he was four out of four in his doubles in that match he would have been over 127 it was a bit similar to that mvg performance against Michael Smith and abedine what turned out to be 123 could have been 10 points better 79 with Connor his could have been seven points better he could have broken Pilgrim's record but this is not about records this is about sending a message 180 and this message is in Bal it's in a large font and it's been sent with sharp points we've been speaking about how he improved immeasurably over the last couple of years well this is the most emphatic statement of that it's not going to get the one 121 and actually if he did pin that one 121 we would have been in record-breaking to not just in terms of average but in terms of match length van velen hasn't had a chance hasn't had a sniff in this game apart from here 38 con requires 64 Marvin's been put up against the ropes and his opponent is not missing much 44 but he has been offered an olive branch here you can sense the importance of this game and we are possibly 20 M away maybe a little less no score that may be the precursor to Connor saying I've had enough of this now that could be the last mistake van velon makes however Connor Scott game up until that point was missing but not there he's fre up aaging in excess of 107 and he is a leg away from Super Series Heaven because he's one leg away 501 points away from confirming his place at Champions night and the book Maker's favorite to pick up the Super Series 8 Crown is on the cusp of making it through his first barrier his first hurdle his place into the big night the red carpet occasion here at the live Lounge 125 did I just see a little bit of a smile come across the face of Scott there 14 there are times in your career and I can only say it from my own personal standpoint there are maybe two or three times where you know you're playing well and you're playing so well that it makes you giggle this could be one of those times for Scot because he has been nothing short of world class all day long this should be the nervy bit this should be the hard bit 45 this should be the bit that's more difficult than anything else but he is prepared for this over the last few years and he is by the looks of it 48 very ready to come back on Saturday night to play the first game of Champions night in front of the fans the light the Mist for a chance at the jackpot requires 76 he is 76 points away tops Conor Scott is the complete package and the snipers Sharp Shooting has sealed his place into Champions night the book Maker's favorit he's going to be there Connor Scott will play for the Super Series trophy on Saturday evening I'm not sure whether he 100% knows but he is there he is through and he will be playing in the big night on Saturday night and boy has he done it in some style an average of 105 a half 50% on his doubles that 117 got us going and Conor Scott has qualified for Champions night on Saturday evening Marvin Van velton's going to have to settle for Group B on Thursday and Friday and Tom Sykes well he's looking to put himself in a position to progress through to Group B he takes on Neil Duff after the break and if he can win that match well it's pretty much secured for him welcome to the party in Port here at the modus liveline they' both got the talent where they just real off leg after leg and dish out a heavy defeat what a way to start the day we're up and run here on Champions week with a maximum but what a way to finish a 12 dark lag beautiful check out there from cam Crabtree only needs the one on the second leg darus what you saying about efficiency on the third leg the moment that ree Robinson comes alive in this crucial Clash looks like he's going to go for it and it is right next to his favorite double top and he gets the job done at the earliest possibility that is C Crabtree through case not so har Harrison gets the all important win the second Darius laow is it darus along that clinch fist he gets the job done in the end was nodding in total agreement [Music] flag she can unlock at any moment but that is quality from harison this would be a wake [Music] up welcome to the party in P should be a good marker for him and is it was a great guy on the first leg Andre Harrison a breaker throw for Andreas Harrison on the second leg consecutive breaker throw double 16 and he does lead 11 but it's a beautiful 12 Trel 17 but he gets bull for the win absolutely incredible by Andreas Harrison he Andreas J Harr [Applause] this is the modor Super Series and we do now know one of the finalists for Champions night in series 8 conis has topped group a and will be there on Saturday and we have now 11 players battling out for the rest of the week to see who will join him two of them in action here and this match could determine the direction of their week so win for Tom Sykes and we will know the groups for Thursday and Friday he'd be in B with Marvin Van velon and the incoming Trio of Adam Paxton Richard Roland and Steve West and that would leave Neil Duff in group C along with Derek Carlson Jim long Paul Hogan Jimmy vanky and Thomas Banks we'll get that confirmed at the end of this match or at the end of the day if it goes further but if Sykes wins then everything will be known what we do know is scut is through and we have our first story at this Champions week complete and narrating that story it's back to Paul Nicholson and Henry Deacon yeah thanks murf and so Scott can make a jolly trip up the A3 come the end of play today because he is going to get that family time that he so wanted and he's going to get a couple of days to prep for one of the biggest days in his career and we spoke all week about how far he has come as a player and look the job's only half done he's only done the first bit admittedly by getting food to Champions night but when we saw him at the lakeside a couple of years ago in that game I know we referenced that a lot that feels like the turning point in his career and he is turning the page in the right direction 100 he's played like a world class player all day long the fact that his worst game was a 90 average with four out of 15 on doubles tells you everything you need to know players like Sykes 100 who have played superbly for the last two and a half days haven't even got a look in game Shan the first Neil do starts with an 11 daughter and he's not going to let go of the possibility of Group B so easily second get Neil to thr first in order to get it he's going to have to beat Sykes and he might have to beat a certain Jimmy van in game 15 as well 100 with a couple of stumbles along the way for Tom who still has to play Marvin Van bson in his last game of the group 137 well change of flights for at the beginning of this his fourth game of the day 58 this has been like a darting fashion show this week these two different shirts different flights for Neil different DTS in fact 100 these are the kind of darts that he was using when he won at Lakeside Joel Cullen is very happy he's using his uh equipment once again getting his equipment on the stage here at the motor Super Series which isn't the first time because he has been here doing some stuff with Johnny Clayton if you haven't seen that you can subscribe to our YouTube channel and have a little look at all of the additional content and thank you to everybody who's been involved in the YouTube chat this week because the action has been so remarkable we haven't even had time to reference anybody in it so don't think think that you forgotten it's just that the D has taken over just chat amongst yourselves Tom sight's looking to enter the conversation what would have been his fourth to plus check out should he have taken out tops there do looking at 68 for a 2-n lead and what a performance this is which is going severely under the radar amidst everything else that's happened today tops is found he's aaging 10366 he's two for two on the doubles and Duff who's been on the wrong end of a couple of dropping today by the top two is looking to make a response of his own whoa it is laughably good the standard today the maximum hitting has been off the chart there haven't been many times today where someone hasn't got a maximum in a match dff didn't get any against van velson and Banks didn't get any against Marvin as well in game five every other time that someone has played they've got a minimum of one 180 37 for the day 128 with four and a half matches to go four we do have some very prolific maximum hitters here this week and we do have a prolific finisher in Tom syes right there four player gets nil to throw first but it's not as if every match has been going 43 we've had three of them today out of 10 matches that's not a lot well we've been flying through the games today in more ways than one not just in terms of score lines but in terms of standard and the pace of all six players have suited one another I don't have the stats to back it up but it just feels looking at the information that we do have to hand that the average amount of 180s per match is very high this week it must be close to three if not Beyond three and that is not the norm usually it's somewhere around the 1.75 Mark we are cranking like never before here at Champions weekend series 8 83 we often get caught in a trap of recency bias 99 but if the players carry on to this standard this will be up there with some of the great champions weeks we've had I always look at the series 4 Champions week as a barometer of greatness well this is touching and tickling the types of stupid numbers we got on that particular occasion 170 so ironic in his previous match he missed the bullseye for a 170 twice then he hits one and it's to leave tops well it's happening again toil isn't it got to a good start but now he's being hit by an average of 105 by Tom from two down tomes has rattled off two quick legs to level upes Neil Duff today beat Thomas banks in his first match since then has been hit by 11.33 by Conor Scott a 94.1 five for Marvin vanon which could have been a lot more if he hit his doubles quicker and now he's leveled at 22 against Tom Sykes who's averaging an excess of 104 95 just to get your thoughts on something you mentioned in the last leg are you saying that series 4 Champions night was the best one you've seen maybe not the night as we look at 120th 180 of the week the record by the way for group a campaign 131 series 4 week eight and that was a week which had the wdf the player that go on to become the wdf world champion and a player that will go on to play in a PDC World final plus a couple of players that go and get their tour cards come on Lads keep dipping your bread we'd like a little bit of extra SW Double 12 that is a wonderful leg of dots he's playing majestically and he's reminding everybody else that this Champions week is not just about Connor Scot so many players attaining a massive level that 105 plus level has been found by Van velson this week albeit in a game he lost Scott has found it more than once today and now Sykes is finding it so what's to say that the Champions week as a whole from series 8 is not the best that we've ever seen there's no reason why it can't be but my personal favorite was Harrison against Crabtree that night it had Greaves it had re Robinson it had labanos it had the lot and it had a last leg deider as well well that average of 105 doesn't actually do justice the spell that Tom ties has been on because he reeled off those three legs from 2N down to 32 averaging 11 15.62 averaging 13 darts a left 100 but Duff CR has to go where credit's due has stuck with the Tas as you'd expect him to hey that's an amazing last do he doesn't react to dots like that he's probably thinking how on Earth did that go in what but that one's gone in7 it's not another maximum but it's just as good as one there to stay in it tots for D that when you consider the pressure he's been put under is absolutely superb bottle personified from the former World CH final it's Tom to throw first game on all right folks let's get a load of these averages because there's 20 points between them n that's how you keep up with 108 just average 20 points less do you remember that game a few weeks ago involving Wayne Jones when he averaged 85 against Barry copelan copel lost of an average of 103 it happens but also in a short course format this is where averages can sometimes be misleading because that is based off a three-leg burst he was a slow starter in the match Dove took the first two 60 Neil has not missed a double this may be the most Neel Duff thing he's ever done if he goes on7 this is simply ridiculous from Sykes this may be the performance of the day considering somebody else's Aver 111 Neil Duff could have 210 plus averages hit against him in the same day double 16 to finish off what would have been the most purple of patches if there's one Department that just needs the tiniest little bit of tweaking it's that double 16 85 Tomy rire well if he was disappointed about missing out on group a glory he has responded well to the setb here as he fires a double 16 and beats Neil Duff with an average of 108.2 six and the dove man has been hit with two averages in excess of 105 on the same day Champions week is a very very tough Score Tom syes the former Grand finalist of a performance befitting of that CVN reputation an average of 108.2 six three maximum he had a threel leg burst where he was averaging 11 15.62 he beats Neil Duff by four legs to three in a decid coming up after the break Jimmy vanki takes on Thomas Banks the start from the young man World youth Champion oh what a response that is from his [Music] father 14 back to back 140s sing leg seven 180 my goodness back to back 180s we've seen 29 in last year's modus League seen a couple of 10 hav seen a nine yet in the online darts live League 19 Double 12 for the nine and he gets the nine what a way to win B would be a cont the five players three progress to Saturday's final of course that emphasis is on qualifying for Saturday night's final because the winner up winner the runner up and the winner of the third and fourth Place playoff we'll get their crack at to Champions week 180 trying to get their hands at Β£7,000 first prize 45 some of you them for are here [Music] 118 welcome back Martin you been where did you [Music] go 100 Martin you require 141 Double 12 absolutely outstanding from Martin Adams as he hits a n well this is the modor Super Series champions week where there are various routes to finals night and all of the players in this week now know what those roots will be Connor Scot he is already there the winner of group a with a game to spare denying Marvin Van velon who will drop into Group B with Tom Sykes joining Richard Roland Steve West and Adam Paxton and Group C Derek Coulson Paul Hogan and Jim long will join Neil Duff and the two players that are on the stage now Jimmy vany and Thomas banks in action in the pairs penultimate game of this group a bit of a warm-up they're going to play each other five times this week at least and I suppose it's time for Paul Nicholson and Henry Deacon to start discussing who else is likely to join Conor Scot at finals night going through their secondary groups I think reset for Thomas Banks and for jimmmy vanky well he might fancy his chances what say you gentlemen yeah I think that debate must start now murf Neil is going to go to the afternoon session over the next couple of days and he will be playing with these two gentlemen so the pressure is off but maybe time to plant a little bit of a psychological Edge as you go into the final two days of qualifying for the Champions night at this early stage Henry if you were going to pick two names from Group C of the six players that will be in that group before a dart is thrown in the group who are you piping for oh nio the hard questions first I see um you know what we both discussed and we looked at the SE and thought that probably looks more horrid than the group b this week because I think there's six players that on paper look very hits the first maxi of this contest I think there's a couple of unknown quties in B we'll see how Paxton and rolands react to Champions week if you look at long cson and Hogan debutants in Champions League but with vast amounts of experience he5 one thing I will say at this early stage is I think Jim Long's going to get through that group I think winning on the CDC tour last weekend has made up my mind game and that is Jimmy's mind made up because leg one didn't take long second against Thomas the thr first game as far as the other name in group seat so I've got Jim long going through I think Duff man I think he'll figure something out between now and then and I think the fact that he's been hit hard by two people today with massive averages I think that will just fuel his fire and he is a player that as we know plays his best when there's an edge and if I'm wrong completely wrong 95 let's face it there Champions week we're surrounded by winners if Thomas gets through it won't be a shock if Jimmy gets through it won't be a shock well I'm going to make a big call is it as big as Jimmy's jeans I don't think there's anything this as big as Jimmy's jeans I think the I think somebody could get through group C on 10 points I see what you're saying so you're seeing that a lot of players are going to be stuck on the same points so leg difference is going to dictate that 48 so by virtue of that nobody's going to dominate Group C that makes sense that makes sense 134 that didn't to Jimmy Bank to level up double 10 100 just moves on the inside and so comes back for double 18 to break the thr and open up a two n lead game Shan the second leg Jimmy vanky there is a little bit of me that wants Jimmy to qualify for Saturday night because he is Mr popular in Portsmouth isn't he game and he's got his own songs hey Jamie Jamie and so forth we could leave the karaoke to the after party on Saturday that would be great yeah I know that you're going to be attending that I know what you mean 100 I know exactly what I mean nobody loves karaoke more in Portsmouth than ya 13 this is a good performance in fact I'll refree Jimmy fansy is playing out of his jeans right now and he's reminding everybody that there are more people out there who can win this week than maybe any week we've ever had in a Champions week maybe even more than Series 7 170 more than series 4 which have been mentioned in the last 20 minutes a couple of times F SK been left on the fish able to take out either 96 but he is 74 points away from a jimy lead averaging excess of 102 fascinating bull ier Double 12 or 54 something that Connor Scott was doing earlier in the week because he went for 54 10 if he gets the single he goes 16 tops because he wants an open bed ski is skiing downhill very very quickly at the minute average has come down to 98 but it's still very very good well just diverting away from the arrows action here at the live Lounge for a second plenty of bonus content available via the Super Series YouTube channel and there will be another episode of the on the oie series which will be released in Du course where the team head to the house of a PDC star so more that will be available in due course via the YouTube channel 100 we're on 350 watch for about two seconds but let me put this into some sort of perspective Jimmy's winning 3-0 averaging 97 and a half and this is a player who has not won today not one win 98 first game he averaged 92 and lost he's averaged 83 and lost 60 he has decreased his productivity every game he's played today3 Jimmy coming into this one he has upped it by a good 10% P unable to find the6 but he is going to leave himself for the double if banks cannot find the 84 ballsy for the Bulldog but he cannot fire it's another misfire and that should be that as far as this match is concerned Jimmy vanki looking at Double four for a comprehensive 4-n win and to put the seal on a pretty good performance an average of 16 darts a leg for vanki 9394 the average you get the better of Thomas banks by four legs to nil and who knows what that head-to-head could yield when it comes to Friday afternoon in group C but for vanki very very tidy performance 93 994 the average four from nine on the doubles for Thomas Banks one more game against the group winner Conor Scot before he can reset for Group C on Thursday and Friday respectively and so incredibly we have come down to the final round of this group a on this Wednesday afternoon what a thrilling day that we've had it's going to come to culmination after the break Tom sit and Martin vanel and will kick off the final lap [Music] on a minute wow oh my God that's under quit down the drain already itching to hit the 180 he's gone for the [Applause] maximum 18 for the Bol bull 53 no he said bull that's a great first start from Adam W look at this he's going to leave scap oh can you believe it that is [Music] unbelievable match starts to put his team into the final and through to the final they go Charlie Murphy has hit the match winning dart on both occasions double four for the [Music] title The please show your appreciation for the winner of the influencer peirs event George SCA and Adam lip [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] he seems to be uh he seems to be out that's what he is Charlie M a couple more visits yet we not going to need a BOS fa is through get absolutely buz it was a that dominated [Music] throughout chions [Music] [Applause] [Music] so just three fixtures to go in group a Wednesday is coming to its conclusion and we already know who is going to which group the table looks like this Connor Scot has won the group even though one of Marvin Van Fels and and Tom syes will get to 20 points after next game the leg difference well there's a huge golf there and Scot is safely through to finals night van velon and Sykes going through to Group B and the bottom three van ski Duff and the cutter drift Thomas Banks all heading to group C tomorrow and Friday but the game we're about to watch is a meeting between second and third whoever wins it will be second in the table and will go into Group B with bragging rights guiding you through the action it's back to Henry Deacon who's alongside Paul Nicholson thanks murf yeah I think the bragging rights of having second spot in this table at the end of this match it may be a thing because these two are going to play each other again over the next couple of nights and if you think about how close Marvin Van velson was to winning this group if he WS up in third he's going to feel a little bit AG grieved do you agree Henry oh most definitely especially when you consider the way the day started for him and then he's just into a Conor Scot train Tom to throw first has been out of control and he going to be out of sight come the end of the day because it's going to be heading up the A3 but for Tom Sykes he dealt with a disappointment of not winning group a very well he secured Group B curtsy for 43 win against Neil Duff winning legs of 15 12 15 and 14 to beat the Duff Man put it into a little bit of perspective you want to know what ceiling Tom Sykes has got he can average 118 and it Miss eight dots at a double 5 that's a little bit scary as silly as this sounds it was actually quite a poor 108 because it could have been so much more 140 did you hear that Tom he's just said that your average of 108 was poor however I'm going to back him up up because it could have been somewhere in the region of 115 but it's encouraging more than anything else we know that game is there in best of seven dots if you want to succeed this week best of seven is what you've got to master 73 going where Tom wants to be and where Marvin wants to be I'm sure you're going to have to do it at Best of 11 and Beyond but that check out he is starting to master that second get Marvin to tremendous 15 do start which is now becoming like you said earlier Henry part of the course 140 Marvin vanson who played on the European tour earlier 4 this year may well be returning to Ros Marin in May next year that calendar has been released today and Tom Sykes in time will be hoping to be a regular on that tour as a tour card holder there's there would be no surprise if this is a game that in the next couple of years we see on a regular basis 41 at PDC level at Pro Tour level well done for breaking the news on the European tour but I think that comes second 91 not just to Super series action today but the recent release of a new partnership that the PDC got with panini 130 for Collectibles that's going to be awesome is this going to be a got got but he didn't need to take it out it's almost like he he decided to go for the ball then just because of what you said he says I'm not going to go for it naughty Marvin see should have gone for the p and I tell you what syes is creeping up in this leg 140 is p the pressure on this top are you saying that Tom Sykes is like Tom York cuz he's a creep oh and he be creeping and he might just steal this Lego here eight Tommy Rec 52 double 16 game the just goes to show doesn't it you shouldn't ever give up if your opponent makes a mistake you can pounce the get Tom to throw first game on it's not the worst comparison in the world Tom York is a genius 57 just another musical genius after what's been a very musical week because of Oasis and there have been many discussions here at the M Super Series as to who 30 is the better band radio head or Oasis speaking about Tom syes on big stages he's actually going to be playing in a number of Moodus Affiliated exhibitions he's going to be playing in Wigan at the DW stadi actually it's been nice to see a few of our regular actually here at the live Lounge be given opportunity to play in those events Priceless in Val experiences for them playing against some of the biggest players in the world I remember Luke humph was 137 playing an exhibition in the southwest of England recently and he was up against one of the Bright Young stars of 57 Hampshire darts a young lad called Leo Howard and Leo beat him in 18 dots those kind of experiences and those winning experiences can last a lifetime do you remember when Adam Atkinson took on Michael vanan at an exhibition in Newcastle 33 Marvin 98 that did Adam a lot of good and we're waiting to see him come back at some point that's a nice first start how's his third 60 slightly short the way that second Dart wi tit he didn't have the worst lie to try and crank it in off a dart three but this for 3-0 game sh the once again takes a leg where Van van vanen had first start a double against Marvin to throw first I thought you were going to call him Marvin Van Verve we're going to go down the Brit pop angle 140 well there could be a Bitter Sweet Symphony for Van felon here because he's guaranteed Group B but he may well get it in third spot Tom syes well the darts have begun to work 40 making vanon feel worse well Tom is playing a very warm game so I suppose in a sense you could call it hot play and Marvin is Cold Play well the clock's ticking down for Van Von in this particular contest well that's all red not yellow 180 this is what happens when you take a world class bunch of players 6 they know exactly where they're going and they're the leash they can do ridiculous things anybody for some ridiculous 120 Tom you require 157 ninth Dart Miss at a double for Marin vans in this match it may be the last D he gets at a double but 157 will not go fory 16 last shance salon game goes back to 31 and a sarcastic celebration from mvv F gets Tom to throw first game on even though Marvin hasn't won this group I still think this has been a very successful campaign 96 because with all due respect to some of the players that he was up against in his weekly campaign the standard has proven 12 and this is no disrespect to the guys that he was up against cuz some of them are a lot bigger than me but the standard has been higher this week and he has troubled the top spot and that tells us that his play is maybe better than we initially thought it was as for Sykes he hasn't done anything this week for me didn't think he could do this has been a confirmation of what Sykes is all about 125 F and first finish but Sykes will feel he has six of 224 his last couple of games have yielded a couple of good perform he hasn't played bad today 155 as soon as he got hit by the 103 from Scott he just felt that was the story of his day but he could end the day in flying style he kick started with a couple of t plus checkouts he could end it with a t plus checkout if he finds the trible 18 and then subsequently have netted the ball's eye Marvin 95 don't miss Marvin Tom hasn't missed a double yet needed two double 19s four you w and if Sykes gets a look previous behaviors tell us that he wins but not this time 54 so vanen gets another chance to extend this game ever more to bring it back to 32 and it would be for a break back quot the Raven never more tomay and Sykes can win in the M house which is probably be fitting of his day he's played well but no madness has followed him every where he's gone and he's missed the mad house and Van Von has another chance to bring it back to 32 that probably endemic of his day gam on the fifth leg Marv he can't us for more than that that's a beautifully thrown shot s leg it's Marvin to throw first it's getting to the stage now where Marvin's got his own water drinking camera he goes back to the table he drinks his water and we've got a specific camera for it 100 I admire your attention to detail it's not my first rodal 59 however who's going to be sipping the champagne on Saturday night who's going to be popping the Champions wheek cork who is going to join the likes of whad Smith ller McAn Taylor Harrison in the ultimate Victors Club 93 whoever wins will not leave this place any quicker than Raymond Smith did because within 45 minutes of winning the title back in series 2 he was in a cab going to he airport to go back to Australia 104 I wonder what Sykes if he wins this week would have as a celebratory drink Yorkshire bitter Yorkshire Tea Cup of Bal 96 well put it this way I know for a fact that Dad won't be uh sober on that particular occasion I think he's here this week he's very much the star of the show when Tom syes is here sorry Tom it was Tom that was sorry there he didn't get his DT out of the board the way he wanted hence the sportsmanship of holding the hand up and there you go the game continues marvon was 3-0 down in this contest he's rattled off on the spin and we go all the way to a deciding leg less has seen Last Leg of the day but actually of all the players to be involved in last leg deciders today every single one every single game that's gone to a last leg decider baring one has involved Tom syes he beat Vani 4 three he beat Banks 4 three he beat duve 4 three is he about to beat van bells in 43 100 let us just remind you if you have just joined us Connor Scot has won the group he did so by beating van velson in game number 10 44 these two are going to Group B the next couple nights if you think this leg doesn't mean anything think again the winner of the leg gets second spot 84 and the winner of the game has the bragging rights because they'll have the better head-to-head record as well they're one-1 for the week and that's about to change 100 let's don't forget they'll pick up a bit more prize money as well because it's a teed a teered prize money structure here at the Super Series you get paid for your place 100 yeah well said it's been van velson and Scott in the top two positions all day long might be just about to pip Marvin to the post for position number two he's made harder work of it than perhaps he should have in this contest but he's going to get a d at totso in it and he only needs the one and it's going to be P2 for Tom syes in group Champions League It's been a day of disappointment for Marvin vanon he harbored real ambition of winning this group here ended up third in it for Tom syes he finishes on a high another 43 win an average of 91.8 for 4 for9 on his doubles really good displays today from Tom syes wasn't enough to see him win the group but he's into Group B he's into second spot and he's going to be a real Danger on Thursday and Friday night so then two more games to go and it's the first player who's confirmed this plays through to Champions night that is going to be playing in Connor Scott he takes on Thomas Banks this is the book Enders battle in our penultimate contest [Music] he [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back the penultimate game of group a on Champions week features a player that's already won the group that man there Connor Scot all smiles as he heads towards a couple of days off resting up at home and a return on Champions night this Saturday the action don't forget gets underway at 7:30 on Saturday night Connor Scot will be part of the super six at the Super Series bidding to win Β£25,000 Thomas Banks still could be he going to have to do it the hard way having finished Bottom by a distance in this group as well he's going to be in group C and there's 48 legs between this pair plus 24 for Connor Scot minus 24 for Bulldog Banks You' expect that Scot would get the win and we are going to catch up with him after the game but doing the talking for now Paul Nicholson and Henry Deacon yeah than well for Conor Scott well this is the ultimate ultimate Victory lap for him the opportunity to just relax goodness me what could he do if he relaxes as he takes on Thomas B who's just looking to build a bit of confidence ahead of a campaign in group C on Thursday and Friday afternoon I think what he wants more than anything else is just to get a win today otherwise he will feel exactly the same as Monday however if he does get the win at the expense of Connor 42 Scott will only win this group by leg difference and the records will reflect for people who weren't tuning in live that it was a lot tighter than maybe people thought however if you look at the leg difference yeah there's 19 legs between them 125 con 92 well the sniper's been taken out his opponent's like an assassin today and he strikes the first blow of Thomas Banks of an 11 D leg I don't have the exact statistics for his deer but this is one of the best de da campaigns we've ever seen here in Portsmouth and if he puts in another T plus average there every likelihood it could be the best we've ever had it's somewhere in the region of 102 at the minute 57 the 11 darts is actually his best leg of the day but rearing off some of his leg wins is like rearing off a load of numbers on a lottery 91 14 133 16 15 the four legs he won against Sykes 15 13 13 13 against Duff followed by 12 12 1850 to the 4-nil dismantle Marvin vanen at one in the group 99 so he's playing pretty well then we've seen worse 140 in Times Gone by we've seen people win a group here with Thomas' statistics 39 however if you look at what's happening this week this is the epitome of just how hard it is to make your way to Saturday night with two days to spare 155 in a Champions week so 155 for Scott and nothing is off the table in more ways than one when this man is around 115 Thomas you see I mean 78 just really creative it's like watching an artist at work and these are his paint brushes 30 didn't get the right color there tops of banks now down for double 10 opportunities have seldom come by against Conor Scott and Thomas Banks has taken advantage of one of them Thomas to throw first he didn't have a dart at Double thrown against him until his third match today against Jimmy Vani matter of fact for the entirety of the day Connor Scott has only faced 12 darts against him to win legs 57 that's always going to be a very good ingredient isn't it 58 you would assume you're going to get at least 20 thrown against you looking at a domination of a Champions week a little bit like ller did in series 3 is Conor Scott Brewing up to that kind of level I think there are some people watching this right now who are getting ready to play tomorrow who would say don't forget about us don't forget about Coulson and West Hogan long Rolland and Paxton remember that week that Paxton had it was littered 56 with Talent and it was the Pacman that won it it was a Champions week kid all but name wasn't it P Bolton Crabtree 54 Thomas 148 but they're not here these guys are double 14 134 150 you're thinking the same as me but he's not going to do it when great minds think alike 58 they he probably didn't do it because we thought he was going to do it g on the third leg Thomas Banks I don't think he went for the 150 with three balls because he wants a perfect de he wants to be the first person in Champions week to have a perfect daily campaign and also the last game that you play in a daily campaign leaves a statement and particularly when you're not going to be here for another couple of days and particularly when you played as dominantly as you have done for the entirety of a daily campaign you want to leave with an air of fear to the opposition 180 Tom Sykes has actually won four out of five the last couple of days 56 we'll talk about that more when it comes to Group B tomorrow but I I have to say this well we've got the time 100 there are going to be people watching this around the world thinking those flights that Connor uses which are very very different I think there's going to be a rush in that equipment and people are going to be trying them purely because of the fact that Connor's made them look so good 56 leaving himself on 68 to level up credit to Thomas Banks hitting a maximum to keep Scott Onis double 16 wow I think the biggest the fact he missed and he missed low into the double seven dou 14 again 93 calling require 18 well he could have been hit by another T plus checkout call Scot sometimes we say that is because play have been unlucky but in Conor Scott's case it's because that's all that he's left his opponent mere crumbs at the table and talking about the table I just want to talk about a little bit of a change up that he's had over the last few months 12 12 see on the towel that he's been wiping it down or wiping his hands on the towel between visits now what he has been doing 140 got a bit of chalk which he's got off of Matt Campbell the Canadian player which he brought over to the UK and it's just helping him with his grip as he approaches a board so when he releases these three darts and he comes back down the YY you'll just see him 12 wipe his hand just his index fingers on the towel we caught a little glimpse of that 140 are you trying to tell me that Conor Scott only uses a certain type of chalk you can take your English chalk but I like Canadian 141 right so trouble 16 d one Thomas Bank 147 switching it up he's playing Kor Scot his own game going mad ways of is es 99 this should be text 86 Bullseye 44 and now Scott has a chance of breaking on tops 28 the right release on that one double 16 game two and how many times do we see it when there's a scenario like this where the group is completed the top Place player plays the bottom Place player it's the player in si who plays with freedom that ends up winning and Banks is a leg away from doing exactly that nice Scott isn't playing poorly in this match he's actually averaging four more points than Banks 100 but the key statistic is that Connor hasn't been as sharp on his doubles as previous games he's two from eight whereas Banks is three from seven less attempts more hits for the young man from sageworth 81 I don't know about you Henry but I'm just really really fascinated to see what it's like 100 when Steve West arrives Because he believes this is his place oh there's a different Dynamic it's a little bit like do you remember at the lakeside when Martin Adams was the main man when he walked into that venue at fley Green if he played on Monday night the tournament would feel different because the main man is in the building and I think there may be a case of that tomorrow night when Steve West turns up5 con require 68 and Here and Now Scott's looking at 68 to tie this game up at 33 and again ensuring that he has nothing in the way 48 this is a match winning chance and it was for his first points of the day if there's one more mistake from Conor you might get another pork double 10 for a level match and it goes use the first start as a perfect guy bumped it off with dart threee and it's free free and as you see there Connor Scott just gripping that bit of chalk goes back to the table wipes it down of his towel 57 well for banks if he loses this game he'll be on the receiving end of a taring as far as the day is concerned he'd have as much Misfortune as his football team nor city did in the leag Cup last night going down five zip to Crystal Palace ouch 100 I notic you said that in commentary instead of saying it to his face I'm sure that somebody will tell him that I've said that oh I am positive that some ipswitch Town fans have been in touch with him 77 well Banks be hoping to knock at the door of Saturday night in group C conis Scott's going to be there 49 if you are here on Saturday the doors open at 6 30 of a 7:30 start and you can watch all the action live and exclusive on the Super Series YouTube channel I think Connor's going to be here really early 95 he's an aid preparation guy he's all about getting here and making sure that there's no stone unturned 140 he will put in a good few hours before he throws in the first game on Saturday night he doesn't know who the opponent will be until the end of group b71 68 but this is for his first win of the day double 16 36 the bulldog has burned a match start 32 well today has been all about this man Connor Scott he's already qualified for Champions night he's looking to finish on a high double eight is found and the sniper was the sharpest shooter of them all he beats Thomas banks by four legs to three and he emphatically qualified for Champions night here at the modus Super Series it was the bookmaker favor before Dart was thrown and some of the performances he's put in today has Justified that tag in terms of this game an average of 92.32 4 for 14 on his dolls but some of his other performances today have been superb averages of 105 averages of 111 averages of 103 he is going to take some stopping when it comes to Champions night on Saturday evening we're actually going to hear from him in a few moments time then after that we're going to round off group a with a meeting of two players that'll be playing in group T come Thursday and Friday as Neil do takes all Jimmy vki [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back we're very happy Connor Scott has joined us for a chat at Scott Connor next to the trophy um you could be taking it on Saturday night you've made it through you said that's what you wanted to do get through this group just sum of how you feel having achieved it um I feel great um I'm not sure what the last average was there but I know I was over 100 average for the first four games which was good for myself I I wanted to B uh pilgrims average but I fell short against uh Marvin in one of them but hey ho one thing you have done though is won every single game in a day which is very difficult to do on Champions week so that must give you a good feeling yeah it gives me a great feeling um it's strange I had a uh my wife messaged me yesterday and said um apparently Paul I'm not I'm not sure if he did or not I haven't watched him back like I normally would but apparently Paul said um that no one's going to run the card today so I sort of made it a little mission of mine to um to Nick it I can hear him laughing in the comment next to us love you love you Nico yeah he definitely did say that yeah Paul Nicholson reacting to that there we are look he definitely did say it didn't he Paul nichs yday um you've proved him wrong and uh how do you feel do you feel you've grown into this week got better as each day has gone on um I feel like I found my throw up there a little bit better um I found that if I throw a little bit too hard or try a little bit too hard it doesn't work for me up there a nice early release and getting my thumb in the right position works for me there so I'm I'm getting more more comfortable up on the sort of mod of stage it's taken me a little while to find the right sort of range but I'm getting there Sly but surely I I felt a lot better today and I felt like I had a lot more to give even in the uh the last sort of three games where I didn't I didn't really play as well as what I did in the first two but I I feel like there's loads more to give so which great you've played a lot of big matches recently across every kind of aspect of darts whether it be PDC wdf here at the Super Series how much did all that experience come in when you played that game against Marvin because you won that to win the group but had he won it he would have had it in his own hands yeah I mean um a few of the lads in the practice room said Marvin seemed very nervous there if if you watch it back he was apparently drying his hands on his legs and stuff like like and he hasn't done it all week that was the first time he's done it but I said to myself Marvin from what I've seen is not a bigger scorer as what I am if I if I can score heavy I'll be fine I've just got to pin the double here and there I know actually you be score heavier hit more doubles you win but if I put enough scoring pressure on someone I I I give myself chance in a lot of the games that I play so my game against Marvin then that's why I went 1212 so I so focused on my scoring I just wanted to try and blow him out the water early on and then I I knew he had like a a bit of a mammoth task if I score heavy enough what's the plan now next couple of days how are you going to prepare for Saturday I will go home today which I'm very happy about um and then I'll probably do a couple of hours practice tomorrow and Friday ready for Saturday and then um come down here and hopefully do all right couple of Dreams a couple of uh moments to think about maybe lifting that trophy what would it mean to you to to be the the Grand Final Champion it it would mean a lot um if if my year goes to play and touch Woods I I I I won't be here next year that that's my plan anyway whether it goes well or not but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't um but I'd like to lift it now because I might not get another chance in the future so I'd like to do it now yeah s everything's going well and they've gone very well this week so far we'll see you on Saturday congratulations one more match to come Neil Duff against Jimmy vanky Paul Nicholson who has been proved wrong and Henry talk you through it well that's official that's the last prediction I'm going to make but I do have a microphone in my hand so I've got to continue to make predictions I am glad that I was proven wrong because someone has run the card today and done it in a very nerve wracking day where everybody wanted to take him out Connor Scot has prevailed and now we've only got one more game to go before we start looking forward to the next two days which will be double dose days B and C and these guys first are both going to group C so you will see them from 1:00 tomorrow afternoon but who's going to get the last laugh here what did they say about the last laugh last the longest well it last for a few hours anyway until they go toe totoe in group C what did you take from that interview with Connor that he has a plan in place not just for the short term but the long term and he wants to tick things off a list the one thing I took from that was I'm never going to play porker against Connor Scott because 100 if you listen to what he was saying about that great head-to-head with Marvin V velson in game number 10 listen to how aware he was of everything going on how nervous the player looked their mannerisms and what he needed to do to get over the line my word don't play him at cards and the way he's played today you might not want to play him at darts either 93 but this way you could have had a hedgehog being frown of the board against Conor Scott and Scott would have still won that match Connor would probably still be able to find a thumb position on a hedgehog and throw it efficiently but Neil today he's found one win from four games 140 same could be said for Jimmy I'm going to ask you a question in the next leg requ 68 but let's see this leg out first dou 16 for vanki 52 here we require 36 so dou 18 for Duff to take out the opening leg and it goes no Ming about the dff man's one up and the question is this if you're Neil Duff Jimmy to throw first game which darts do you use tomorrow but it's a difficult day to assess because 100 you look at the results and you would say yes we go back to the old set but look at what's been hit against him today he was on the receiving end of the Scott 111 he was on the receiving end of the syes 108 van at a night4 which was pretty much close to a ton because of the Miss doubles in there he could probably put a couple of points on his average but in terms of the results there wasn't really much he could have done with today not much he could have really done by way of what the opposition threw at it and also you got to put that into isolation because when your opponent keeps hitting 12 DS 13 DS like Sykes and Scott were then naturally as a consequence your numbers will go down because you feel like you are not in legs this is probably not a barometer for NE and this is probably what he wanted today from the equipment and the setup it may have come down to feel if he felt more comfortable with this set today it's likely he uses it tomorrow 26 but if he didn't he will revert to the other set and this is something he did in his weekly campaign that he won around seven weeks ago 60 he did interchange throughout the week but still won the big match at the end 21 Neil should get to a finish 100 but it's a very very slim chance of taking Leg two to double that Advantage two8 for Jimmy game sha the second that was textbook wasn't it Jimmy bansy on 94 there he's gone for treble 18 get ne to he's just missed it high let's say that Neil Duff left himself on something like 60 180 140 does Jimmy go the same way I don't think he does I think he's so smart that he might go treble 18 to then leave an obscure double to try and take the leg because the guide was so good consequently if he'd hit treble 18 it would have left dou 11 100 as you mentioned at the top of this game it's all about reset mentality for this pair when it comes to 96 Thursday and Friday just to break down the session ties for you if you are new to us here at the Super Series if so hello 1:00 start for Group C on Thursday and Friday afternoon and 10 p.m. for Group B on Thursday and Friday night oh hello well this game is coming to the ball now couple of Maxis in backto back visits and Duff looking for potential 12 unable to do so so van looking for the 130 we've seen multiple 130 checkouts over the last couple of days one of them came from dff 47 there not a 130 check out the duff needs it's tops game Shan the third leg Neil Duff oh yeah Duff two f one Jimmy to throw and once we have the opportunity this game is pretty much laying up for positions four and five in the group let's discuss what we have seen in this group as van hits his second maximum of this contest well we haven't seen Neil Duff actually dress up as Duff man which is something that you never know he might do just for a few Giggles Jimmy whoa what have you got mind Big Jimmy it wouldn't be to finish the deer but if you finish the leg in the next three dots 81 you have a line of people at the door waiting to shake your hand but the 141 does a go in fact that maximum was the 132 which breaks that record of series 4 week eight perhaps appropriate that it's a Champions week that holds a record of that kind of prestige Jimmy broke one 19 game's not even finished yet they only be halfway through un able to take out the double eight and that felt low can you imagine what it's like being Jimmy being so tall and throwing down to double eight it's probably the equivalent of most of us looking at South of double three game sh four but it is 22 Jimmy we've got the equivalent of one Old World Masters set left to go here today it's Neil to throw first let's not get into that debate I didn't get into it I was just massaging it a little bit Duff will be looking to win the world master both players are actually going to be playing at the World Masters when it's being played in Budapest next month or just about next month we're moving in towards September aren't we 58 you're looking at two people who could definitely win that tournament well they got a massive wisley pleaser size problem 100 to try and sort out first you feel you're not wrong and he is the defending Champion they're going to go back to back and the last player to go back to back at the World Masters is Glen Durrant in 15 and 16 beat Larry Butler and in those finals at the whole city hall and at the lakeside here the live Lounge we are boing up to a big occasion of our own we boing up to a big finish as the conclusion of group approaches and of course Saturday night we'll have a sellout crowd and attendance here in Porta to see who is going to pick up the 25,000 jackpot and who will join the illustrious names of winners on the Super Series Ro of Honor both players 60 near requ been at Champions week before but not been at the Champions night they're looking to finished their campaigns in this groupe on a high Duff looking at tops the double that won in the Lakeside title a double wins leg five here three two is up S gets Jimmy to throw first game on 140 a couple of games ago we had Sykes versus Marvin Van velson and the winner of that game solidified a certain position in the table 100 if Duff wins he's going to be on 14 points and will get fourth 180 another maximum from Big Jimmy who gets four but if Jimmy wins the game he will get fourth position and if you are a believer in orans the winner of the previous series finished fourth in group a in Champions weag 125 Andreas Harrison who from Sunday morning will no longer be known as the reigning Super Series champion Jimmy 56 one of these two be lifting the trophy and be beneath the confetti well I say beneath the confetti if Jimmy Vani wins the title then the confetti will be rising up upon Him game fre Jimmy bansy he's thrown two terrible dots there and one brilliant one he misses the board with the first one second one in B and then he takes the checkout that is one of the weirdest checkouts he's had all week last leg of grou it began with a 43 win for Maran vanel against Conor Scott it's going to end with Duff and Vani slugging it out in seven 95 the level in this game has been very impressive Ians might be getting his best average of the week in his last game in the group 140 he's already got like we said four maximums he's got 50% on the doubles as well this is the proof that Jimmy and also Neil they cannot be forgotten in a week where people have been trying to steal the headlines like Connor like Marvin like Tom 60 The Narrative is going to change tomorrow when six new players come in but Duff man's got the advantage of getting that fourth position 100 now we require 161 for the match he's got six of one 161 to defeat Jimmy van ski 99 to finish fourth in this group a hasn't missed a double in the match Neil he only needs one more just to give himself that little cushion he lik to get the trouble 10 just to make sure he's got two dots for the match one dot at tops delivered by Duff and he's going to finish group a four position these two will meet again in group C on Thursday Friday afternoon Duff takes the bragget right there the pair will return tomorrow Friday afternoon for their place into Champions night on Saturday evening that dots the eyes and crosses the teas as far as group a concerned and it was a good performance there from Neil Duff averaging excess of 92 four from four when it came to the finishing but in the end it was a group all about Connor Scott the sniper firing his way through to Champion night on Saturday evening the first player to confirm his place in the big red carpet occasion where somebody's going to LIF 25,000 and the famous Super Series trophy so that's group a come and gone we have got Group B and Group C to come later on in the week and coming up in a few moments time we'll get the thoughts of Paul Nicholson with Chris Murphy [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all [Music] and breath and it's Connor skott who can breathe easy after winning group a and making it through two Champions night and uh well he kind of proved you wrong Paul as he said himself there um you did say that you fancied him to win the group but it just shows how good he's been the fact that he did prove that point wrong because it's difficult on a week like this in a group like this to win every game in a day everybody needs motivation right but let's be honest he needed to run the card and that is credit to Marvin it's credit to Tom as well who's won eight points from 10 the last couple of days we can't forget about that so his hit rate's been really good against the same field but Scott has been the best player he's proven that today his level was just that one bit better than everybody else other players have succeeded in getting high ton plus averages four out of four in the doubles from Duff as you've just seen But putting the whole plan together over 15 games it was Connor who was just a little bit better would this be the cherry on the cake on what could be a kind of Life CH changing year for Connor scup because he's just ticking off so many things ultimately which could culminating a return to the Proto for him yes and no and the yes being he's won the pentathlon which is uh a storyed event that's been going on for Generations but yes I think you know he's he's won challenged to events this year he's at the top of the order of Merit that job isn't complete yet if he wins this week it's just something else that was something that he really really craved and I love what he said he wants to win it now because he might not get another chance might even have a chance of winning other stored trophies before the end of the year like the World Masters or something like that but it's all about the Now isn't it it's all about doing what is the challenge right now and now he's got the chance and that is what you build up for over 12 and a half weeks yeah we're going to see him at finals now on Saturday it's the first time in four weeks that the favorites who win the week has actually made it to the Saturday which shows how competitive it's been um but you just mentioned it the other players in this group have been ultra competitive as well so let's talk about some of those Tom syes um he must be feeling good going into that group b campaign he should he's snagged second spot over Marvin so he's got a little psychological Edge over him going into the evening sessions and like Henry's mentioned a few times this week the people who have uh fought in group b over the course of the last seven series predominantly your winner comes from Group B so I don't know if that's a bit of an Norman but if you think about some of the things that Sykes was up against today he was having to pull out shots like that against Scot just to get a dart at a double so you got to give him credit for getting two legs off him earlier in the day because not many people were doing that and even in that game did that show him that come Saturday he can stand up to Connor Scot yes and a little bit later in the day when he was averaging 108 it's that kind of level that he's going to need but it's not new news when he was here on Champions night before he didn't have a great start but fought his way back with a Monumental second game in the group and that was the kind of performance he put in so it's just more proof that it's there it's just got to be found what an incredible psychological analysis Conor Scott gave of Marvin Van velon a little earlier when he chatted to me I want you to analyze Marvin now not just that match but his entire campaign where's his game at it's much better and I think the way he performed in his winning week that had so many ups and downs the nine daughter the succeeding in Group B group a was very interesting interesting to say the least but I think his process is better I think he is more prepared for a harder group uh when it comes to this week and in particular for Group B because that's not going to be easy as well I think he's more prepared than he's ever been for something like this so Connor may be able to survey him but he doesn't have to for the next couple of days but don't be fooled Connor will be watching and just in case Marvin makes it you'll get even more information we've had some great games haven't we in this group and some great spells of play as well um like this one that we're going to show you right now Tom Sykes setting up with a 177 here and well you know the rest Neil Duff steps in that's just typified the week hasn't it yes it has I mean Neil Duff has harbored how much attention today very little but this is worldclass darts and I know that we look for players who don't have PDC tour cards there are some people here this week who played on the proo this year but think about the players that didn't even make it your Wesley Pleasers uh there are other people who were in Adam Paxton's week and Pia was in that week funny enough but they're not here we focus on the players that are and they're here for reason because they did the right things at the right times and we're seeing that more often this week let me just throw some numbers at you 9.71 was the average for the group as a whole not quite a record but it's up there 10 ton plus averages today in this group um 34 t plus checkouts and 133 180s in the group which is a record how good has this group been this Champions week I think if you think about three days of competition in group a any group a you're looking at around maybe 100 to 110 maximums being a very affluent week but when you're starting to get over 120 and now over 130 this really has been a grade stuff and no point intender because it was group a but I've thoroughly enjoyed particularly the last couple of days where it's it's culminated into something very special and now it's only you know nearly 2:00 on a Wednesday afternoon and I cannot wait to be back here for tomorrow in group C because they know how hard it's going to be to make Saturday night but it's going to be fun to see what happens along the way well what ultimately matters is points and this is how it all sort of ends up after all of those games 15 each Conor scut despite the Staggering standard produced only winning it by two points tells you everything it does he won it by two points but an honorary Four Points because of 20 legs difference and it just goes to show how dominant he was in certain games he was able to get the 41s and the four Nils more often than some other people and that leg difference really was a key Ally going into the final uh battles but I think Tom Sykes will be very very happy that he's got second spot because he will feel like he is the second best player in the group yeah let's show you the groups for the rest of the week then with Scot safely through to finals night Marvin vanel and Tom Sykes go into Group B where Richard Roland Steve West and Adam Paxton will join them tomorrow night and tomorrow afternoon from 1 pm Neil Duff Jimmy vanky and Thomas banks will be joined by Derek Coulson Paul Hogan and Jim long I'll ask you about the new players the incoming players in a second but you just made the point about the leg difference there Thomas Banks was 50 legs behind Connor Scot by the end of that group campaign is that something for him to worry about that is so far off the standard of the the current favorite or is it just accept how good Scot was reset and and it's completely new competition tomorrow it is a completely different competition because the way that Thomas will be thinking he won't focus too much on the minus 25 he'll be focusing more on the fact that he pushed the person who won the group in the last match and if you looked at Scot at the end of that match he looked around and said you should have taken me and the fact that he nearly did that should make Thomas feel good about his next challenge and all the guys coming in who is the one that you really think could threaten Scot come Saturday of course they've got to get their first but is there a name that really leaps out for you it's West isn't it it's not just about the story it's the fact that the level is there and the fact that his week 11 is fairly recent and he's got the Reps in the bank I think he'll be more prepared for a Champions week tilt than possibly ever before and yeah he's the one who's got the 180s and he's going to have the confidence coming into it it's going to be a fascinating battle over the next couple of days want to see if Steve makes it and who steps up yeah well you know what's better than what we've had the last three days don't you double sessions of darts for the next two you're going to join us and enjoy that you bet try and stop me from getting in the place I can't wait and I know we're going to have some fresh faces in the commentary box as well over the next couple of days it'll be interesting to see what they think as well it's been good forun and it will be good forun we can guarantee that at the end of group a however well it's Connor Scot who made the cut as a sniper shoots to success and is through to Saturday's Champions night I I like to challenge I like to challenge there's always something new to try and do like it's never over the game doesn't stop cuz things have to be right to win this week it will put him to the top of the table it'll move into 14 points and that first treble is permanently laid for a second it's double five it's a superb ending hopefully the next febr in the cap will be a big big week win Conor Scott is the complete package you don't win this week by being lucky [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music]
