Josh so glad that you're okay just walk us through that that vicious crash there um yeah I just thought I was in great position on the top honestly I was expecting to be on the bottom and you know William was giving me great pushes and we were organized and really think we had a shot at that and you unfortunately just got turned around and you the car lifted up and and slid on its roof which honestly the paving job you know I think did it job compared to what we saw last year I mean I I just slid on my roof into the wall I mean it was wild but I don't think near as violent as what we saw last year so um you know aside from the car flipping over it really you know wasn't too bad of a deal it look like a hard head [Applause] into yeah um you know it it was it was but you just I mean it was just a weird angle I think right like I think the car crushed pretty good because it was actually upside down so I don't know all in all man I mean you know the car did its job it held on I feel okay I mean it probably looked worse than it felt but you know just just disappointed cuz I you know really thought we we could have won that thing to that point what are the emotions after this one when you when you put yourself in that good of position I mean honestly I'm just I'm really proud of the the job that everybody did tonight the car we had the job I did you know to win a stage to stay up front and battle all day race hard I think I proved a lot to myself when it comes to Super Speedway racing so I just really proud of the guys and you whether we had won or flipped or finish second or third we would have been at at at work Monday preparing for Darlington so that's what we're going to do did the crash give you any type of concern over the lift two weeks in a row now with with flips um yeah it's uh I mean yeah it's a concern but I don't know what I don't know what you're going to do about it really I mean they'll figure it out but it'll just take time I guess thanks Josh GL all right thank you man we put ourselves in position to win the race and that's that's what we wanted to do um unfortunately we we didn't get to the end and you know that's part of this racing and um you know haven't watched it in detail to know exactly what happened and so I don't want to throw um you know any opinions out there because Lord knows that I've made plenty of mistakes at Super Speedways and I want to make sure that it wasn't me but I felt like I just got um Turned getting down into turn one and just the wrong angle at the wrong time um but you know Austin was doing a great job of pushing me we had a good run and you're at the end of these races so I'm not not faulting him um we were trying to do what we could so you were expecting a push obviously yeah well we're all pushing hard typically you don't push going into the corner um as far as entry goes you know you kind of pick somebody up push him and then you kind of release as you get off into it but he was just a little bit off center and I think that's probably what did it more than anything could you feel your car going over cuz I mean it looked like it was about to tip over it was it was going over I didn't I had my eyes closed um but whoever hit me it felt like it set me back down because I had that moment where it got real light and it got real quiet and then I got hit and then I was back on the ground so um I haven't seen the replay but just glad Josh Barry's okay that that one um looked looked definitely worse than mine so you know it's it's the end of a Daytona race and these things happen everybody's pushing hard and had guys up there that had to win and so you know everybody's going to go for it for the for the blowovers concerning that we're having two weeks in a row three cars you know I talked a little bit about in the media center last night is you know the the up and down part of it always concerning you don't want cars to go in the air but they are setting down you don't want them to take off right um You don't want to see what what we've seen here in years past and you know cars get up too high and get into the catch fence so I'm sure they'll keep addressing it and keep working on it um I'm a little bit bummed out that that happened again in the same spot because Dayton International did such a tremendous amount of work to pave all that and take all the grass out and yet the car still took off so I think we could probably eliminate the fact that it was the grass that did it last year more than likely it was just the speed and the angle because it was very similar angle right there um but less violent right so maybe maybe there is something to learn there but um I know they'll address it I mean I'm not panicked about it do you think the fin had anything to do with it the addition of the new fin you think that might be theas in these cars getting up in the air no I mean the fin you know it's been kind of tried and tested to to help the lift off um so I don't feel like I don't feel like that would probably be it but they'll study it and look at it I mean it's so hard to to plan for every situation and you know the easiest thing for them to do is just slow us down right and as the drivers we don't really want that because then it changes the the feel of the race and the runs and so sometimes we're our worst our own worst enemies right because we want we want to keep the package but I'm sure they'll look at all the options ask this with Grace but um leading at Talladega is where you crash leading at Daytona is where you crash how disheartening are those moments to take away understanding that this might have been the last opportunity to get into the playoffs it's not the last opportunity we've been good at Darlington um it's way better than being 30th and crashing I mean it is I mean if you just look at you know the three times I've rode the ambulance this year is Texas Talladega and here and every single time it was racing for the lead um you guys will have to tell me cuz you saw the replay I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong on this one Talladega that's 100% me that was you know a bonehead move but I think tonight I put myself in position and was doing everything I needed to do and you know just unfortunate circumstances sure
