oh [Music] he [Music] he [Music] [Music] what [Music] that [Music] what's going on everybody week one is in the books and it's time to overreact or maybe underreact well we got to do something right we have as much information as we can get out of the first week of games we have waivers that we need to waiver wire that we need to address teams that we need to try and figure out or adjust as we get into the actual regular season and that's what we're doing here today that's what we're g to try and figure out and I couldn't do it by myself they're not going to let me do this by myself of course you got me Chris Allen every week here on Matthew Barry's fantasy life in order to kind of address some of these waiver questions figure out how our team is going to look but I'm not the star of the show all right you guys see the man sitting right next to me I he he needs no introduction well maybe he does I'll we'll introduce him one time Nicholas petite frier of the Tennessee Titans starting offensive lineman Nick how are you doing my friend I'm doing awesome I can't believe I get a chance for me to be be here and talk fantasy I'm super excited Chris I appreciate you and Matthew Barry and fantasy life for letting me come on and talk FAS football I love it it's something I've been playing since I was like 13 and 12 years old and me getting a chance to talk fantasy and just get my input on stuff is like really amazing and I can't and I can't believe I'm here oh man I can't believe you're here either honestly I can't believe we're here at the end of week one and like we were just discuss we've discussed this a couple of times off air it's that I mean we we struggle to figure out like how best to adjust to the information that we just received from Thursday night's craziness between the Chiefs and the Ravens all the way through what we saw on Sunday night and of course the the conclusion to week one between the 49ers and the Jets I mean there's just so much to take away but let's go ahead and we'll we'll hop in as we see some folks like already hopping into the chat with some of their questions we'll try and get to as many as we can but I think one of the biggest things that you and I had discussed was what are we going to do with this this Rams situation all right pukaa going on IR for the first for the next like four weeks uh him being a guy that most folks drafted in the first round uh I mean Cooper cup Demarcus Robinson Tyler John I mean all of the guys that are now going to be a part of the discussion that's going to be like one of the higher priority waiver targets I would assume I mean outside of maybe a few running backs here and there and of course we'll get to those but how are you really approaching like this situation like with the Rams passing game what did you see on Sunday night that would make you think okay well I see now that you know Cooper Cup and the way he's being used is is fine but maybe some offensive line injuries that you might have noticed in the general pass protection from Matthew Stafford I mean from your perspective I mean how should fantasy managers really be approaching this thing where they've lost some folks have lost their first round wide receiver how would you approach it well for me it's just that I think Cooper cup obviously becomes now wide receiver one he gets a mass amount of targets you saw it how he had over like 10 catches over that game around like aund over 100 yards so obviously Cooper cup goes back into the wide receiver one territory that a lot of people were talking about before just because Cooper cup was injured coming into last season that he just kind of fell out of that wide receiver one talk just because of Puka nakua coming in and the amount of targets that he was getting in his great amazing rookie season so Cooper cup obviously stays up and goes into wide receiv receiver one territory but a person that I actually like a lot is kobby Parkinson because and they uh the Rams do a lot of 11 personnel so a lot of one tight end one running back for and with Kobe Parkinson he does a lot of routes and he goes out and he gets catches a lot of passes over this last game so I like him as a good Target for tight ends and then also Tyler Johnson was an amazing wide receiver that had a lot of reps after puga nuga got hurt and if you're talking about Kiren Williams and with the offensive line injuries the offense kind of stayed the same in the second half although kyen Williams was in more chip Protections in the second half it didn't really change the offense in the sense of more running back screens or or like short routes to try to get the ball out just in case the offensive line was holding up the offensive line held up pretty well and even with uh karon Williams being in uh being in the back and during third round third downs and going out for like chips and uh wide receiver and for running back screens he didn't really have that many because the Detroit Lions were doing a lot of man coverage with their linebackers so wasn't that many opportunities for Kyon Williams to have running backs greens because the offense didn't support that but I still think Ken Williams is still a great running back one to have I think Cooper cup stays up as a wide receiver one Kobe Parkinson is a great person to add and also Tyler Johnson is another wide receiver on that team as well I would say I would have to agree with all your points right there and of course I mean I'm just I'm the analyst I mean folks you should be listening to everything that Nick is providing to you right now I mean this is like top-notch like fantasy analysis in my mind especially coming for somebody that is playing the game on a week in week out basis but to your point I can't see a better situation for for these pass catchers at this Point uh the Rams on Sunday night uh they ran like 74 offensive plays that was like top three in the NFL I mean they were also like top four top five in pass rate over expectations so even though like kyn Williams he did kind of struggle from a rushing standpoint he was able to make up a lot of his like fantasy production like as as a receiver and so if you do have like some qualms about rostering a guy that is tied to a team that does have at least some concerns with along the offensive line with st ail going out with injury Jo not boom like also getting banged up I there that I would understand like having some concerns but looking at their upcoming schedule Nick I mean let's see what we got for for the Rams like moving forward so they're at the Cardinals in week two they do play the 49ers in week three so a little bit more of a tougher matchup and then Chicago uh Chicago and Green Bay like in weeks four and five before they hit their their week six bu so overall I mean if you are targeting uh any of these pass catchers whether it's Demarcus Robinson who was one of my favorite targets like throughout the off season just knowing like to your point how much they ran like 11 personnel 100% of their offensive plays like on on Sunday night we're in 11 personnel and so Demarcus Robinson we can see his route rate continue to be like a steady Target share should also be there Tyler Johnson also working in as the as the wide receiver three like in in three wide receiver sets but yeah Colby Parkinson for sure Colby Parkinson actually had uh was it five targets if I remember correctly so about a 14 15ish per Target Target share so if you are one of those people that lost Jake Ferguson uh because of because of the knee injury looking at David and joku who's like high ankle sprain and what that's going to look like or even if you just want to get rid of uh having anything attached to the Browns Browns offense altogether taking a look at Colby Parkinson on the waiver wire would be a solid ad uh for for going into week two so I like that so hey this is what we're doing every week everybody I mean come and join us here over at Fantasy Life fantasy life.com like all whether it's these stats the utilization report like powered by Dwayne McFarland's brain the utilization report score that just dropped I believe yesterday mean all of the analysis that you need like from from a fantasy standpoint we've got you guys we've got all of you covered like right here but all right let's let's dive into some other let's look at some of the questions that over here in the chat I think Ash had one in the like up on up in the chat even before we got started that's how excited folks were to try and get in like have a have a conversation with this Nick Ash over here here in the chat uh looking at let see he has bench including Blake corm Rico D Jaylen Wright me which order would you cut them to potentially pick up Isa likely Demarcus Robbins who we just talked about Greg dorch we'll have a conversation about the Cardinals like here shortly Bucky Irving take Bigsby Etc so some of the hot waiver names like for coming into week two so he's a 12-man PPR PPR League Nick I'll kick it to you first I mean looking at some of those guys I mean which guys like would you cut in order to pick those guys up and we just talked about the Rams and what that uh what our Le somewhat positive outlook is going to be for Kiran Williams Rico D splitting with EO Elliott Jaylen Wright I still think is a fairly solid stash I mean given the injuries to both Raheem moer and also Devon Anan and looking at all that I guess what would be your initial thought like looking at this list of having to cut those three those three running backs and then picking up what could be at least right now the Ravens tight end one uh the Rams wide receiver two at least for right now the Cardinals wide receiver one because we didn't see much from Marvin Harrison Jr I mean so looking at that list I mean which one of those guys would you cut in order to pick up those guys if I had to choose one it would probably be at the moment Blake just because of Ronnie Rivers being the rb2 um going into the game with the Rams but in P personally it would probably be a situation where you kind of want to see if there's any uh uh tea leaves about the Miami Dolphins this upcoming week for their Thursday night game against the bills if something comes up that Devon aan has an injury that still has them questionable and that actually looks like he may be out then there'd be a good chance for you to keep Jaylen R and not cut him or Raheem moer um also having qu being questionable as well so if there's any te leaves that come out that show that one of those two are actually on the up swing of playing in the Thursday night game maybe it'd be better for you to drop Jaylen Wright but if I had to really pick between those three I love Jaylen Wright and the Handcuff that he could provide on the Miami offense and then r d on Cowboys offense is also an amazing handcuff as well so it just kind of seems like Blake Corum the only one that didn't get any real snaps on that Sunday night game would be the person that would cut in that order that makes the I think again that makes sense to me because the split between Zeke and d uh 10 carries like four for zeko Elliott eight for Rico D in that game so while he didn't show out like most folks expected drafting him for some of that contingent value it was like he was completely shut out like in in the Box Court there was still some work for him uh like against the Browns and the Browns they do tend to have a fairly Stout run defense so I completely understand why he wasn't able to be that guy like banging in between the tackles and then like wind up falling into the end zone like we saw Zeke do on Sunday so out of that group I would agree that like we didn't see anything from Blake K I mean this was the same team that like we were just mentioning having a number of injuries along the offensive line having to pass or at least like being in a more competitive game script which we should project like for week two when they go ahead and play the Cardinals and if we didn't really see anything of Blake corm even just like some pass protection type of set or give me out there on early Downs uh I do have some concerns about like stashing him and of course with Jaylen Wright the injuries to Devon Anan a chest injury if I'm remembering correctly for Raheem moer I'd say out of all of those guys I would want to continue to hold jayen Wright just on the under the opes of maybe we don't see either one of the two running Prim running backs for Miami in week two so that would make right one of the stashes of the week and if you go ahead and check out our waiver wire tool that's currently up on fantasy life.com you will see Wright as one of our priority ads like for this week or at least a stash to continue to monitor given that situation given the offensive production I mean there was they were one of seven eight teams uh in week one that actually produced more than 400 yards of offense so we know that that offense is going to be productive we know that Mike McDaniel is going to keep them boys moving we know that they're going to be able to create explosives uh to attack ofo about 330 passing yards uh like around there like on Sunday against the Jags about a buck 80 of those like came on explosive plays one a Tyreek kill on that bomb that 80 yard touchdown bomb UH 60 yard like deep completion of Jaylen Wadd and then of course Devon hen doing his thing in the receiving game so I think I'm with you like if I were to try and pick through um any one of those guys uh like I would probably continue to hold uh jayen Wright I would also like continue to monitor what Rico D's like workload and what that split is going to look between him and Ezekiel Elliot especially now without potentially without Jake Ferguson there might be a little bit more to the Running Backs from a passing game perspective but then Blake corm the guy that really didn't see much of if you had to cut any one of them in order especially in order to pick up Isaiah likely with as much production as he got in the Thursday night opener I agree like cutting Blake Corum to potentially pick up any one of those guys makes the most sense to me but all right so again waiver wire questions just general topics that you have coming out of week one overreacting under reacting what are you supposed to do with your lineups and me this is exactly what Nick and I are going to be covering on a week- toe basis so we of course we appreciate you guys checking us out over here at Fantasy life.com but all right Nick so back to our like back to our conversation so we we discussed the Rams for a little bit all right and what general conc turn we have for them but what about some of the other offenses that performed on Sunday that we still have a few question marks about let's start with the Arizona Cardinals I mean of course Kyler Murray he looked okay I mean from a fantasy standpoint was it 15 16 fantasy points like somewh in there at the end after playing against uh playing against the Buffalo Bills who we knew going into the season that the bills would have something of a defensive issue given the number of starters that they lost in free agency but I think the biggest concern not really Kyler Murray not really Greg dorch who is one of the hot the hot topics or the hot pickups or the hot draft targets for folks like throughout the offseason biggest concern that I have is Marvin Harrison Jr that he was a consensus let's say top 12 or early second round pick in most drafts like throughout the summer uh given his draft Capital given the discussion about like how like how good of a prospect he W like he was like coming out of college coming out of Ohio State uh which you might happen to know just a little bit about I didn't see anything from Marvin Harrison Jr or I didn't see enough to make me think that oh yes I understand why the Cardinals drafted where they drafted him so Nick based off of like what you saw were you able to go back and like check the all 22 what did you see out of Marvin Harrison Junior and if you are a fantasy manager that has him on your roster I mean are you concerned about the outlook for for the rookie or did you see enough to say that okay maybe if they do a couple of adjustments uh we might see a little bit more we might see what the intent of Arizona was in drafting Marvin Harrison Jr yeah going back and watching the all 22 for me I could see that there was just a lot of long developing routes for Marvin Harrison Jr that just didn't really hit or there was just some pressure coming from linebackers that the office line didn't slide to and things like that that probably hurried up Kyler Murray to either scrambling outside the pocket or going to more of a safety valve of targets I.E being James Connor and Greg dorch just these short routes that are towards like the line of scrimmage that are closer to the line of scrimmage that are more safety valves if things go AR or Kyler's hurry out of the pocket and needs to just make a play on the fly so when I was watching all 22 I still saw Marvin doing the things that not only did I did we see him do during the preseason but I've seen over my two years at Ohio State I've seen him create Separation on wide receivers I saw him find ways to create find gaps in zone defenses and Zone coverages and find the small gaps that are going to be great big plays and I also saw him try do deep Crossing routes and be able to get past Defenders and DBS and find those little gaps and scenes it just didn't connect right there's a lot of plays where either Kyler Murray had the read on Kyler where Kyler Murray had the read on Marvin but he was hurried out of the pocket and he had a scramble over to the other side or there was other times where KY Murray had some pressure coming from a linebacker and he just dumped it off to James Connor and things like that so I wouldn't have too much worry on Mar in terms of his ability and his talent is still going to be there especially one because he's a rookie it's his first game there's always going to be some moments where rookies don't look as great as they could be in their first game but they'll get settled in as Marv did during the game and if I had to give a similar um like synopsis on what type of player Marvin is probably going to be for the Cardinals it would probably be like Jamar Chase how Jamar Chase more often than not are hitting these big timey like big plays like 30 yards like 20 yards kind of like not back breaking just because they're like 20 or 30 yards but like a lot of these run after their catch deep crosses or short or middle crosses that are just over the cross in the middle orow on the sides that are just like big like back breaking plays but there's times where you may miss those you know and I know with you um being a Bengals fan there was times last year where maybe you saw some of those plays didn't necessarily hit which watch chase at times those are but but you remember those plays in this rookie year where you would just have this big backbreaking play off this big pass from Joe Burl and stuff like that so I don't have fear in Marvin Harrison I think the offense is going to be better better it's still it's still a competent offense the offensive line is going to be better they're going to find out the issues that they had in terms of making sure they Slide the protection the right way so Kyler has more time in the pocket they'll find more ways to get Marvin the ball and I think that it'll be better over over the time in the season I'm hoping that that's the case because at least from what I was seeing and like more from an analytical perspective a lot of just the basic things were there for Marvin Harrison Jr in week one 94 95% like route participation which is great he's out there of course just getting his cardio in and not really getting us the the points that we need as fantasy managers but still he's out there running routes did see him move not just from like playing as an outside like primary X receiver also being lined up on the slot switching from the left side of the formation to the right side of formation so it does seem like there is some level of uh consideration there's some game plan around like how Drew pet sing wants to try and like move Marvin Harrison Jr like around the around the offense and make sure that he is a weapon not just a guy we're just sticking out there have him go do his thing and then like and then move around like afterwards but uh to your point I would love to see him being used in that Jamar Chase like type of roll like where they are hitting him on quick Slants in order to get the ball in his hands and move after the catch a lot of what I saw they were more of those like intermediate type of passes where a guy like not to say that this is anything against Kyler but with the offensive line like as you were just mentioning Kyler didn't have as much time to really like get to the back of his drop look at his options and be able to get the ball to Marvin Harrison J down the field that's why we saw more checkdowns to James Connor we saw more of those looks to Greg dorch which again from a waiver wire standpoint if you are able to snag up uh Greg dorch like for for week two should be like should be a fairly like a mid- priority ad like for a week two just given dortch's I guess familiarity with the offense and also his connection with Kyler Murray and that kind of leads me to a separate question that I have and there's one thing that I noticed with Marvin Harrison Jr that kind of lends itself to the fantasy discussion between like with him and Greg dorge with scrambling type of quarterbacks I mean quarterbacks that are a bit more mobile they can do the whole and this like the analogy they gave to you we like we've been talking the past few days was like Prime Russell Wilson right you know when the the play breaks down it goes for four five six seconds of Russ doing his little pirette in the back field and having that connection with Tyler Lockett when he was in his prime chucking it over to him and then Tyler Lockett conrete after the catch I mean have do you believe that there really needs to be that level of synchronicity uh between the quarterback and the wide receiver to do those types of things when the play breaks down because Kyler Murray was pressured on like 36.8% of his dropbacks and that's where we could see a guy like him and dorch already having that connection because they already have played together and even on the touchdown pass that Murray threw to Michael Wilson it was fairly similar where it was Kyler Murray doing his Kyler Murray thing and just happens to find the receiver that's open in the the back of the end zone and Wilson happens to be the one that comes down with it and do you like in your experience is it just something that Harrison Jr just needs time in order to develop that type of chemistry like with Kyler Murray and that's where we'll see much more of that those magic those shot plays like those scramble drill like type of things start to develop for him is that just something that really needs like a bit more time for it to happen it definitely needs more time but a thing that a lot of people don't even know about that is that we actually have drills where we practice scrambling drills like we'll literally set up the pocket we'll set we'll set it up for quarterbacks and wide receivers where they actually have design routes once a scramble has occurred so like there's times where you would think like oh they're just like running around I can't believe like you'll see guys like Travis Kelce or something like that with like Pat Mahomes just like running around once there's like a scramble and then like oh you just see Travis hit this big shot you're like oh my gosh I can't believe they got that lucky it's like you would think it's luck but there's a lot of preparation that we've done over the offseason and during preseason and even in games where we have certain things that we do to um know where we're going to scramble what what type if we're scrambling over to the right what's the best case scenario for the receiver at the top of the top of the um uh top of the field the receivers at the bottom of the field and receivers that are doing Crossing routes towards the right there's all these different rules and things that we have for all the receivers to know okay once the scramble occurs how do these wide receivers move how do these move to make sure that they find Space so the quarterback can put the ball on them so that's just something that comes with time and more reps and and energy from Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison that'll get better as the season goes on if they C if they become more scrambles and things like that so that wouldn't be something I would worry about I think there's more opportunities that even if the offensive line doesn't fix their struggles being pressured 36% of the time for Kyler Murray that there will be moments where Marvin Harrison finds these open gaps and these open seams and Kyler Murray and him have a better connection on those type of plays here's hoping that that's the case and like we just mentioned beforehand I mean in uh week two coming up against uh who are they playing oh they're going to play the Rams in week two that should be like a fairly uh like fantasy friendly environment in might like just given how that we just saw the Rams play Cardinals also like to play like a pace so that should be something that we would like that we would see be more like a fantasy friendly like type of environment like for for everybody to score points uh but I guess to make things like more I guess uh to to look at more of the waiver wire types of ads I mean are you looking at a guy like Greg dorch like for for week two yeah it wouldn't be it wouldn't be a problem I mean it' probably be more of a a spot play type of guy it wouldn't be someone that I'm like looking at as like all right this is gonna be my wide receiver to I'm playing him over like a guy that might have disappointed me like Chris olve or Michael Pitman like I'm not doing anything like crazy like that but if I want to just have some depth at my in my wide receiver position maybe I have like uh Darnell that didn't really show out for me that well or like players that are in that type of range of I drafted them late in like the 11th 12th 13th round and it just didn't really pan out instead of me just holding on to a guy like that maybe I'd make a pivot towards a guy like Greg dor I don't feel like you're really losing a lot if you're able to move off of Dar Mooney to Greg dorch but obviously be a lot if you're trying to move off of a guy like Keenan Allen to Greg dor that's like a big jump that's kind of a big commitment that you're trying to like sell yourself there that's that's a good point all right so again everybody like welcome in if you're just joining us we've got waiver wire questions just talking about some of the teams that were I guess that disappointed we have a couple of question marks about but of course like trying to make sure that we're like looking at these waivers because it is Tuesday we've got a lot of work to do tonight we got a little bit more homework to do so we can make sure we're adjusting our rosters as we head into week two just a couple of days before Thursday night uh but let's go ahead and uh if you have any questions go ahead and drop them in the chat we'll try and get to as many as we can today um let's see we've got a couple more let's see I got this one over here from uh Raven show yo uh let's see Devonte Adams and achain for Diggs and Monty full PPR who wins I mean full PPR is kind of tough with that one because like we saw hen being being played a lot in the slot um which was amazing to see like a lot of the hn truthers that were champ pill during the draft season are pretty happy with what happened there um but actually watching Devonte Adams and watching some of the Raiders film like Devonte Adams is still Devonte Adams like that's something that people like kind of get away from just because it's Garner mchu it's like he's still asking for targets he's still pretty involved and like Devonte Adams is one of the more competitive wide receivers in the league so don't worry if it's like oh he only had five catches like I feel like he just doesn't want to play like he wants the ball every single play and they're going to force feed him as much as poss as much as they possibly can the only thing is is that like sometimes a quarterback might just not get it to him it's just not as consistent as you may want it but I still see good things ahead for Adams I mean I think the Adams aan is probably worse off just because of the fact that well actually no I actually like hn and Adams because I just don't know if Monty's ever going to really give you anything in full PPR if it was half PPR I think I would probably lean more more towards Monte but I'm pretty aan pilled personally so I'm leaning on I'm leaning on that side yeah I can understand that I mean and we were as we were talking about the the Dolphins team as a whole I mean the explosives and all that I think the biggest case for for aan is the fact that he was being used not just as a receiver was at seven targets if I remembering correctly but it's the goal line usage that I was like really interested by he did get that one yard touchdown I believe that was after he made it to like the three yard line on the play prior and then he gets to punch it in like from the one yard line and that was essentially a role that we saw moner take over for the the better part of last season that's why he was a dude that rushed for what 21 touchdowns like last year so now if things are starting to shift towards hn if he's now going to be like a larger part of the passing game and he's going to be getting like those goal line duties that moard had throughout the 2023 season I would still lean more towards like being able to hold on to an asset like that but I do understand like looking at the quick production that you would get from a guy like David David Montgomery I completely understand that I completely understand wanting to tie on to uh the Texans passing game and seeing like especially since digs W up getting what those two touchdowns like on on Sunday against the Colts I can understand that but from like in the long run like having a guy like Anan assuming Health assuming that that this is just like maybe a short-term type of thing uh like and of course being also attaching to that the Miami Dolphins like offense I do get like uh like I do understand like oh that's is one of those like we're overreacting to week one where I still want to try try and see like what can happen in week two and Beyond so yeah all right let's take another like couple more questions from the chat I missed a couple of these uh let's see this is from Stephano uh what percentage of your Fab would you use on JK Dobbins now with Dobbin specifically I I could not believe like how well he looked doesn't have the same burst as he did like when he first came out but just the fact that he was be able to like be used as much as he was like for the Chargers and still has like at least some of the like Breakaway speed to create some explosives that was again much surprise like to me like hats off to for be able to come back from such a nasty injury so knowing what we know about like JK dobbin's injury history what would you put like how much Fab would you put on him I mean it's tough to just Bank on injury history that's why I've been more H and pill over this draft season because for me when it comes to Fantasy I'm thinking look if someone gets hurt someone gets hurt like that's just the way football is it's there's 100% injury rate that's the sad part about football but with that comes the the reality of look if you're gonna if these guys are going to play they're going to play through the best of their abilities and if they're on the field what they're telling you is that they're healthy and they're ready to go so with seeing do is on the field seeing how he performed having over a 100 yards having like over 10 carries and stuff like that and really showing that he could be a for in this Chargers backfield I'm willing to put a stake put my flag on JK Dobbins as a running possibly a a running back two for the rest of the season um I'm not dumping the entire Fab Budget on him but I would say around 30% 35% it okay it's one of those it's one of those chances where you're saying look I'm willing to spend a third of my fab knowing that I got a running back to for the rest of the season and I'm baking on the fact of even if let's say Gus Edwards still gets a little bit more involved like they're going to run the ball a lot so it's not like he's just going to go away right like yeah if like JK Dobbins showing week one that he has the ability to run the way that he did to command the backfield the way that he did it doesn't mean that they're just G to go all right let's just go flip to Gus Edwards week two and like completely cut off JK dobins like if anything happens it'll probably become a split but with a with Greg Rowan being the offensive coordinator there and that type of offense like a split of two running back like that is going to be worth it to have as like a player that you have in fantasy at least have the flex spot exactly and I think that's where getting a little bit more aggressive like from a Fab percentage like 35 40% like somewhere in there absolutely agree with like making sure that you are it's almost like playing keep away right with the rest of your league so that once you have them you know that you do have like at least as of right now the rb1 for the Chargers a team that we do know is going to be at least a little bit more like run heavy or predicate on using their rushing attack and with JK Dobbins playing so well 50% rushing success rate 135 yards like on the ground I mean I haven't seen numbers like that from Dobbins like in quite some time and now that if like Gus Edwards isn't going to be as much of a factor at least effective like as as a rusher uh again I'm I'm completely with you and Nick do you know who their's week two opponent is going to be for the Chargers for Chargers uh no who who who they got this week keep pounding it's the Carolina Panthers oh yeah so yeah if you're able to pick him up like for for week two he seems like an instant plug-and play for this week and then let's see like from a I can understand like being like somewhat adverse or risk adverse just given his health potential but yeah if you do if you we are able to strike iron like while it's hot and have a guy like Dobbin like on your roster I would lean towards that for sure uh let's see let's see if we can grab like a couple more couple more questions out of out of the chat let's see this one from a little bit earlier um let's see we already we did the uh we did the Devonte one oh yeah this one from ape fusy uh let's see zamir white should we pick up his backup Alexander Madison and I know Nick you and I we had queued up to have a discussion kind of about the Raiders and just their situation as a whole and Alec or uh let's see Pierce wanting to ride the hot hand Madison coming and doing like what he like what what he did um like on on Sunday against the Chargers what do you think about Madison is he somebody that we should be targeting you think that's more of a one week one blip um you could Target him but I think it would probably be more of like an rb3 type of situation because looking back at the all 22 like it was right like Pierce saw that Madison had the hot hand coming out to the start of the game like zamir white was all right but he didn't really hit a lot of gaps in terms of like hitting some of the holes when the offensive line was making holes for during the Run game but m had a lot more burth he looked a lot better than he did last year with the Vikings so I think that hot hand approach did come into fruition but the thing is that zamir white kind of came into himself later on as the game kept going so it showed that there is still the ability that zamir white has to be able to run the ball effectively um along with Alexander Madison I could see this backfield being more split than possibly like the charger situation I could legitimately see where JK Dobbins could become a focal point and Gus Edwards is still involved in the offense but I would say it' probably be like a 65 35% share when it comes with the Chargers when it comes to the Raiders I could possibly see it more towards that 6040 maybe even a little bit less than that just because there's still the talent that zamir White had once it came to later into the game and Alexander Madison showing that he still has burst he still has juice he still has the ability to hit make contact on certain Defenders and still run his feet for that extra yard or two that's something that pierce would loves to see that the Raiders is that's the their offensive style that they want to have tough runs rugged runs and just keep fighting and clawing for those extra yards so they want to be a little bit more run heavy this year so I could see getting aler Madison I'm actually gonna try to pick him up in some of my leagues but that's just more of a bench stash than I really would say in terms of okay the ties are shifting over to um Alexander Madison zir white is like over yeah and I think the one thing that gives me the most concern about Madison and his fantasy value moving forward I mean he had six targets uh so is that going to be something that we can expect on a week in week out basis I mean we were just I mean oooing and awing over Devon Hans like usage in the passing game for Miami and Alexander Madison only had maybe like a few few fewer targets than what aan had is that going to be a week- to we thing or is that just more of how the game script wound up going and if it's going to be let's say zamir White having like three or four targets and then Madison having three or four targets and then and to your point the rushing production is split as you just outlined is Madison going to have that same type of fantasy value as he did in week one that's where my biggest question lies is that all right so it's good he got in the Box you know six targets like four catches like 30ish yards in a touch so that a lot of his fantasy production week one is booed by that pass catching ability but if we're already concerned about how little Devonte Adams was involved in the passing game does some of those targets then go to Devonte didn't really see much out of jacobe Myers or Trey Tu or even Brock Boward let me insert Raiders pass catcher name here so I that's where I'm completely with you and that good to pick him up in Stash from a uh from a Fab perspective if I'm only putting in let's say you know 1% 2% like somewhere in there where I'm not really Breaking the Bank in order to pick him up and see how this split really unfolds I think that would be the approach that I would take would you agreee with that yeah for sure and like when I was looking back at the all 22 as well like they did share like third down reps so it's not like a situation where Alexander Madison is the only running back that's having all the third down reps and if there's any sort of running back halfback swings and stuff like that that are their only going to Madison like zamir white was also in that back field as well doing the same thing alar Madison was doing so it's not like a sense of all right we already know that alria Madison is the only pass catching back in this offense there's the potential for zamir white to also have these path catching opportunities as well I think it just shaked out to where Alexander Madison was the guy that you saw in the box score that had all the targets that had some catches as well exactly I'm I'm completely with you there all right let's do one more and this actually tease up a conversation on two offenses that we that we said that we wanted to talk about this comes from James uh this actually part of our family here at Fantasy Life said he needs a replacement for Jordan love choices are bad to quite bad uh darnold hates his matchup against San Francisco this week Fields can he keep the job it sounding like that might be the case or for this week only Daniel Jones against a terrible Washington defense so out of all those that sounds like bad worse and worsest if there was even a term for that I mean out of those guys I mean Nick like who would you pick out of that if there really no other options I mean if there's really no other options with only those three I think you could possibly just Bank on the rushing upside of fields just looking back at the Pittsburgh Steelers game like there was around like three to four designed quarterback runs for Justin Fields let alone scrambles that he had in third down so obviously Justin's gonna do it with his legs right he's going to be able to find ways for him to run with the ball and for him to make athletic plays in that nature and it just seems that the offense was sustainable with Arthur Smith and Justin running Manning the show there so if I had to pick between those three I probably would Bank on fields being the guy just being able to do it with his legs you would think Daniel Jones would be able to as well but it just it's tough to just see how they played this last week and for you to just go ahead and Bank on something changing with uh with uh the Giants the only thing that's changes is the defense that they're going up I guess so I would probably bake more on fields first if I had to get frisky I think Daniel Jones will be the frisky play because I would rather play Daniel Jones and hope that Washington has a bad day versus play Sam Donald and hope that San Francisco has a bad day because more often than not San Francisco's defense is not gonna have a bad day right yeah I can agree with that yeah and so far all reports at least out coming out of Pittsburgh right now is that the Steelers are preparing as if Fields will still have the job in week two so unless some sort of miraculous uh like thing happens for Russell Wilson what was it the Nano bubbles that he was using like was like five six years ago or something that helped him with an injury Les he goes back to that it seems like we will have Justin fields in our lives again in week two but that brings up a separate topic for folks that uh like James obviously has like uh Jordan love as his quarterback but now what about the pass catchers for people that are rostering uh Jaden Reed Romeo dobs even Luke Musgrave like any like any of the pass catchers associated with Green Bay Nick after you like we're able to take a look at it especially now that your your guy Malik is going to potentially being the starter starting quarterback for the Packers like this upcoming weekend I mean how would you kind of rank or approach uh looking at like these the the Packers wide receivers are you just staying away from all of them or are you at least keeping your eye on a couple of them for week two I'm at least keeping my eye on on a couple of them the two that I would keep my eye on would be Jaden Reed and Romeo dos those will kind of be the two I think both are going to be lower just in general uh because of the loss of Jordan love and now having to switch over to Malik but I still think Jaden Reed is still going to be a wide receiver that you still would want to play possibly as like a wide receiver to I don't think he drops down into the flex range but he's probably like lowend wide receiver too and then Romeo dobs goes from someone that you possibly could have played as a spot play in a flex to maybe he's just now stashed but the thing that a lot of but it's all all projections now because we only have one play with Malik with this new offense with the Green Bay Packers out in Brazil so we only have got to see one single play we don't really know what they're going to do but just based off of projections and me knowing Malik and knowing how he's grown over those two years that I've played with him um he's become a better passer in my opinion um he's learned the offense really well and you could see that over this preseason he let a game-winning drive against the New Orleans Saints at the super doome um to end the preseason granted I get it people are like oh it's preseason doesn't matter like it may not matter to like some of the fans that are like I just want to see the regular season see when games like count count but to us like these reps are so meaningful when we get them in preseason because it's finally a chance for us to see what we've done not only during the fall camp but during the offseason during the years that we've been preparing and for us to finally have reps that were able to go out and show what we can do so I believe in Malik I think he has great arm Talent um I know he's gotten better um in terms of being able to read offenses and make uh calls and decision and then and things like that so I still think they're going to manufacture Touches for Jaden Reed because that's GNA be simple and easy for Malik to be able to get the ball to him um Romeo dos that was someone that I was actually I actually had stashed in one of my leagues I was actually pretty excited seeing that he got a few targets and he actually had um a really good route participation and he was actually out there in 12 personnel as well over Reed who was only out there and 11 personnel so I was actually pretty excited to see the the amount of snaps that Romeo dos was getting granted now with Jordan love out is I'm probably gonna have to wait and see how it how it goes but I wouldn't be I wouldn't be surprised to see if Malik is able to sustain at least J Jaden Reed as a player of fantasy that can still be producing yeah and that's where like my kind of concern was because we didn't know how this Packers wide receiver tree was really going to shake out Romeo dobs like especially down the stretch and like throughout the playoffs I mean played like the team wide receiver one but this was without Christian Watson throughout the like the better part of the 2023 season the the hamstring issue the things that he had to do like from a rehabilitation standpoint to get to where he's at and even with Christian Watson on the field in week one it was dobs that actually had like the highest Target share like 21 22% Target share for Romeo dobs in week one to your point seeing him out there in 12 personnel which should help like in terms of a route participation opportunity standpoint Point regardless of who's going to be uh like under Center like for the Packers moving forward I do think like dos Reed would be my primary targets uh but then also we've got the tight ends to consider I mean Tucker craft was the one that wound up taking most of the work uh away from Luke Musgrave but I guess thinking about it a bit more and a question I want to pose to you is that when you do have this like quarterback change would you expect I mean again we're still we're still projecting we're still thinking about like how the Packers is going to change this would you project to see more 12 Personnel in order to maybe help protect Malik and also give a chance for a guy like Josh Jacobs to continue doing what he was doing uh throughout the the majority of their game down in Brazil and be that Banger uh between the tackles and whatnot so would you see a bit more from a 12 Personnel standpoint or do you think they're still going to try and play it as straight as they possibly can I would expect them to try to go more 12 Personnel because it's just simpler plays it's more run plays that are run out of 12 Personnel for most offenses and things like that and they have and the Green Bay Packers are notoriously a team that's able to run the ball like over the years they've always been a team that's prided themselves on being able to run the ball and posing their will on certain defenses regardless of the weather regardless of whether they had aric roders or or Jordan love like they still want to have that ability to show that they can run the ball because a lot of people kind of lose sight of that when they're like oh like back when they had Aaron Rogers and Adams and like all and Jordan Nelson like all they did was throw the balls like yeah yeah but like they made sure they established the run more there's a reason why a lot of Aaron Rogers play action plays caught a lot of defenses off guard because one he's really good at showing play action and really faking out Defenders but then also the way that they established the Run not only during the course of a game but over the course of multiple Seasons to show that we're still a team that's going to put it up in between the tackles we're going to run tight Zone we're going to run mid Zone we'll try to stretch it from here and there but more often than not we're going to really just try to jam this ball at the middle get ourselves three four yards and pound you and pound you and pound you and grind you down and then we'll hit a deep shot over you yeah so I think that's where at least from uh like a waiver wire standpoint like I would be angling for a guy like Tucker craft maybe not as a spot start in uh in week two you've got Isaiah likely like like more or less like headlining uh the waiver wire like for for this week but if I were to take a look at a guy like Tucker craft and see like what that offense is going to look like in week two three and Beyond I mean given his route participation I mean he did out Target Luke Musgrave like three to one like uh like in week one so if you are saying and like and this is I'm kind I'm leaning in that general direction of them using a bit more 12 Personnel in order to make things easier for Malik maybe a guy like Tucker craft can be the one to benefit from that and then hopefully for the folks that uh that drafted leag mus crave we might see a bit more love literally thrown his way uh in week two but Tucker craft available in Yahoo leagues 98% of Yak leag is right now one of the lower rostered like tight ends so if you are out there like searching the waiver wire for that type of replacement Colby Parkinson was the guy that we like we highlighted earlier Isaiah likely of course being like the gold star in terms of where you're going to be like targeting the tight end position for week two from a waiver wire P perspective but uh again maybe take a look at Tucker craft and see what we can do uh for uh for weeks two and Beyond a couple more things that uh I guess let's just head into like a rapid fire like type of thing we got about minutes left appreciate everybody like checking out the show today Chris Allen Nick ptite freier GNA be here every week talking about again what we're like reactions that we're getting from the week beforehand waiver wire questions uh just fantasy questions in general this is what like Nick and I will be doing on a week- toe basis so Nick I'll ask you real quick who is your hottest waiver wire ad like coming into that we haven't discussed I mean of course we discussed like like and all the rest of those guys but out of any other guys that we haven't discussed yet who is your favorite waiver wire Target for a week two um a Target that I'm actually pretty interested in would be Alec Pierce just with Anthony Richardson and the Cole's offense I just I just want to get a piece of the Cole's offense now just seeing how involved Anthony Richardson was um the amount of huge bang plays that he had like deep shots that he took over the field I just kind of want to P of this Colts offense that would be one player that I would be targeting obviously JK Dobbins if he's still on waivers would be a person that You' be targeting um but like in terms of quarterbacks I think three quarterbacks that are pretty interesting to be targeting would be Baker Mayfield I know in a lot of one quarterback leagues Baker Mayfield was kind of left maybe has been left in a few one quarterback leagues um Justin Herbert so talking about that Chargers thing again they're going to Carolina like a lot of players were afraid of playing of drafting Justin Herbert just because hey we didn't see there's not that many pass catchers there all new guys or guys that really haven't really shown what they could do in the NFL yet um but if there's ever a week that I think Justin Herbert could have a great uh week in terms of being a quarterback I think it'll be against the Carolina Panthers and then another person would be Gino Smith although like I think Gino Smith had a pretty good um game against Denver he showed a lot of ability for him to be able to scram out the pocket and still hit a lot of the pass catchers because they have three amazing pass catchers they have Jackson Smith and jiga they have DK they have Tyler Lockett even Zack shern was able to go ahead and get himself a little seam route over on the right on the right half on on the right side on the right sideline as well so there's there's uh players and Playmakers around Gino Smith that are able to help him become a stable quarterback for you to play on a weekend and week out basis so those would be a few of the players I would say are nice waver wi T targets to have I definitely dig all of those I mean Baker Mayfield especially uh I know there was some concern about uh Dave Canales leaving like for the Panthers uh Liam Cohen like stepping in like as the like as the OC for for the bucks but I don't know maybe it's playing against the Washington defense I mean anybody can shine like in that in that particular scenario but the fact that we got two touchdowns to Mike Evans Chris Godwin operating out of the slot and then I'll toss in another waiver potential waiver wire ad for week two Jaylen McMillan I a prospect coming from those Washington Huskies that everybody was going to Target whether it was like Roma dun like you know so on and so forth uh I mean jayen McMillan like showing up and really like becoming like the team's like wide receiver three I mean highend like route participation participation was able to take like one of his targets like to the house and score a touchdown like in his in his rookie debut uh I would say that if this is going to be a team that like while they're not always going to be like as pass heavy but if Baker's going to be this effective and then especially given that their their matchup for week two I mean they are going going up against Detroit that should be another one of those back and forth type matchups that from a fantasy standpoint we would want to Target of course got your Mike Evans you got your Chris godwins you won't be able to pick them up off of waiver off of waivers but Jaylen McMillan for sure uh should be another Target I'm definitely with you on Gino Smith uh I mean any of like uh and of course like any of the guys that we already discussed um one last question for you before we get on out of here I mean so anybody that you're panicking on but you're not ready to drop him yet like just give me one guy that you're like just like okay well I need to see one more week and then we'll have to think about like putting him on a waivers do you have anybody that comes to mind I say it's actually Jaylen Warren and a lot of people kind of look at me funny when I do that it's it's weird but I looked at the all 22 and from what I saw from Jaylen Warren was that Naji Harris got a lot of the Reps in terms of the running back splits right for U run run plays but I was like okay well at least I knew coming into the season I was like okay Arthur Smith there's probably going to be something weird that's going to go on like it happened with bejon I'm like maybe I'm like they're not going to just feed it all the one guy right and it kind of felt like that it felt like Naji Harris was the only guy that was getting really fed um but I was like okay well Jaylen Warren I know is a pass catching back and that's one thing I know he always has um a lot of the times when he was in third down which he was the main guy in third Downs he was just chipping for the T chipping for the tackles and playing and being more of like the um fill in back for linebacker blitzes and things like that he wasn't really going out for routes he had I think maybe one catch or one target that was like oh that was like a route out on a third down but with Justin field scrambling a lot more with Jaylen Warren being more of a pass protecting back like taking away his third down ability now you're only asking hey can he run the ball is he gonna be the main running back Naji Harris had 20 cares he had two and then I also saw on the all 22 that there was actually a medal on Jaylen Warren and Jess field I don't know who it was whether it was Justin going the wrong way or Jaylen but I'm gonna more assume that the quarterback pretty much got it that's just kind of what everyone assumes like even even us as football players we just assume like the quarterback probably knew what he was doing and the rning back messed up and that could that could potentially hurt his potential of him still being a player so I just want to see if there's a game where the Steelers are down and they aren't controlling the ball and running that Jaylen Warren is involved a lot in third down plays and if he's not really involved in terms of being a pass catching back I don't really I don't really know what value he has until unless it's that because if he's not getting the volume as a running back and getting the carries I don't know what he's GNA do if he's not catching the ball well everybody you heard it here first I mean some concern for Jaylen Warren we'll see how things shake out like over the next couple of weeks but appreciate everybody stopping by like I said I'm Chris Allen Nick petite Fier we'll be here every week kind of discussing the waiver-wire ads adjustments you need to make to your fantasy rosters right here on fantasy life.com
