BURTON CUMMINGS AND RANDY BACHMAN WIN THE GUESS WHO LAWSUIT

hi fans of high quality entertainment some of you might remember on my uh Canadian studmuffin channel the my main one or was my main one that I did I did a couple of videos about the Guess Who and the lawsuit uh that burden Cummings and Randy Bachman uh you know they were trying to get the name of the band back to them because there was this band called the gu who who when they were performing live especially in recent years sometimes didn't even have one original member and they would release albums called The Guess Who with you know new material that wasn't even uh I guess some of it was Prague kind of Prague Rock and you know a lot of us original guas who fans just didn't feel that was right and of course uh buron Cummings and Randy Bachman didn't think it was right and I just saw this a couple of days ago it's all over the news at least here in Canada The Guess Who and decades long legal battle an impossible task if there is a group out there calling themselves The Guess Who it's going to be it's going to have to be the lead singer who wrote the songs and the guitarist who made the riffs singer buron Cummings tells Rolling Stone and that's not to say that every guess who song was written just by buron Cummings or every guitar riff was by Randy Bachman but so the guess who's founding singer Burton Cummings and Randy Bachmann have settled their lawsuit with fellow original members Jim kale and Gary Peterson and acquired the trademark to their former band's name ending a bitter dispute over the legacy of one of Canada's Canada's most famed classic rock acts then you know you can just read this online basically anywhere uh but Burton says here it's been a very stressful period but I'm relieved that it's behind us and confident that I can come back to the states with my band and play all my songs there's been a fake band out there for a long time using the real records to promote their shows and it handcuffed me in many ways we're trying to preserve the history and the legacy of The Guess Who for our fans all over the place who have followed the real band and the real songs and I've noticed for instance you go to the Guess Who website it's gone back to it's not you know the the cover band basically that's been touring for years uh they switched it back to the Guess Who which is nice okay when you go to this this I guess was the the cover band that had you know the Facebook page calling themselves The Guess Who and now when you click on it it's not available and best of all when you go to Spotify now when they did those videos a few like I said a few months back there was a a picture of the cover band there was no burden comings or any of the original members I know that Burton Cummings wasn't a original member he joined you know uh about I believe 66 67 um but that's the guess who that was popular you know uh Randy Bachman of course with American woman and burden Cummings for many years singing many you know all of the basically all of the radio hits and so it's nice to see that back and the albums I've noticed though that they still have the the two from the band that was the Getsu so I'm sure that they'll be deleting that from Spotify I guess and I you know this like I said this band that has talent they're just going to have to change their name they can still make albums with you know that's what they were doing they were making original music uh recent you know recently and but calling themselves The Guess Who and it's not the Guess Who at least it isn't for me so uh it's just good to to see and uh I'm very happy for Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings for winning the lawsuit because I guess they would have uh commercials on the radio uh you know promoting shows by this cover band and they would they would be playing the original songs sung by B Burton Cummings and even sometimes pictures and even the this the the former Guess Who band they would be signing albums that that they didn't have anything to do with and signing uh under burden Cummings face or whatever so uh I'm just as a Canadian I am happy and proud that they won the lawsuit and I would love your thoughts in the comment section below thanks for watching watch you and have a great day bye
