BE REMOVED FROM THE BALLOT. BREAKING NEWS TONIGHT ON THE DEADLY SCHOOL SHOOTING IN WINDER, GEORGIA. THE GEORGIA BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION SAYS THE FATHER OF THE ACCUSED SHOOTER IS NOW CHARGED IN THE CASE. 54 YEAR OLD COLIN GRAY IS FACING SEVERAL CHARGES, INCLUDING INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER, SECOND DEGREE MURDER AND CRUELTY TO CHILDREN. OFFICIALS SAY THESE CHARGES STEM FROM GRAY KNOWINGLY ALLOWING HIS SON TO POSSESS A WEAPON. HIS 14 YEAR OLD SON, COLT GRAY, IS CHARGED WITH FOUR COUNTS OF FELONY MURDER. COLT IS EXPECTED TO APPEAR IN COURT FOR THE FIRST TIME TOMORROW MORNING IN JUST A FEW HOURS, WHERE HE IS EXPECTED TO FACE ADDITIONAL CHARGES. HE'S BEING HELD AT THE REGIONAL YOUTH DETENTION CENTER IN GAINESVILLE. TONIGHT, A MEMORIAL CONTINUES TO GROW AT APALACHEE HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE TWO STUDENTS AND TWO TEACHERS WHO WERE KILLED IN YESTERDAY'S SHOOTING. THE FLAGS AT THE SCHOOL IN WINDER WERE AT HALF MAST TODAY AS FLOWERS AND BALLOONS WERE BEING LEFT TO HONOR THE VICTIMS. BARROW COUNTY SHERIFF JUDD SMITH SAYS TEACHERS RECENTLY GOT NEW BADGES WITH A BUTTON FOR EMERGENCIES, WHICH HE SAYS HELPED POLICE PINPOINT WHERE THEY NEEDED TO GO. INSIDE THE SCHOOL. WHAT I'M MOST PROUD OF, EVEN IN A BAD SITUATION LIKE THIS, IS THOSE TEACHERS WERE HEROES. I WANT THAT TO BE KNOWN. THEY WERE HEROES. THEY SAVED A LOT OF CHILDREN. HAVE TO LET YOU KNOW. THE CITY OF F WINDER WILL HOLD ANOTHER CANDLELIGHT VIGIL AND MEMORIAL CEREMONY TOMORROW EVENING. OFFICIALS TONIGHT CONFIRMING ALL NINE PEOPLE HURT IN THE SHOOTING WILL MAKE A FULL RECOVERY. NOW, AS THIS INVESTIGATION UNFOLDS, NEW DETAILS ABOUT THE ACCUSED GUNMAN HAVE BEEN MADE PUBLIC. WE NOW KNOW HE HAD BEEN UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE FBI BEFORE. THE BARROW COUNTY SHERIFF TOLD NBC NEWS 14 YEAR OLD COLT GRAY WAS A NEW STUDENT AT APALACHEE HIGH SCHOOL, AND YESTERDAY WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS FIRST FULL DAY OF CLASSES. SO WE CAUGHT UP WITH LOCAL LAW ENFOFORCEMENT AND A SECURITY EXPERT TO BREAK DOWN THIS FLUID INVESTIGATION. AS THE INVESTIGATION QUICKLY UNFOLDS SO THE LEAD WILL EITHER BE THE GEORGIA BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION OR BARROW COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE. PHIL CARTER, WHO HAS DECADES OF LOCAL AND FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE, SAYS THIS WILL CONTINUE TO BE A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN AGENCIES AT ALL LEVELS. YOU'LL HAVE ATF THAT WILL HELP WITH THE FIREARMS TRACING. THE AMMUNITION PURCHASES, THOSE KIND OF THINGS. THE FBI WILL DO THE FORENSICS. THEY'LL DO THE CELL PHONE, COMPUTER. I THINK HE WAS ON A GAMING PLATFORM WHERE HE MADE THE INITIAL THREAT. THEY'LL PULL THAT INFORMATION. THOUGH MANY DETAILS ABOUT THE ACCUSED, 14 YEAR OLD GUNMAN REMAIN UNCLEAR, WE KNOW HE HAD BEEN ON THE FBI'S RADAR BACK IN 2023 AFTER SEVERAL TIPS FOLLOWING POSSIBLE THREATS MADE OUT OF JACKSON COUNTY ABOUT A SCHOOL SHOOTING. FBI HAS A NATIONAL THREAT OPERATIONS CENTER, SO THE THREAT REPORT OR THE REPORT OF THE THREAT CAME INTO THE NTOC FOR THE FBI. AT THAT TIME, GRAY WAS INTERVIEWED BUT DENIED MAKING THE THREATS ONLINE. INVESTIGATORS SAY THERE WASN'T ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO MAKE AN ARREST. FBI DOES NOT DO THOSE INTERVIEWS. FBI IS A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR THESE THREATS. THAT INFORMATION IS PASSED TO THE JURISDICTION WHERE THE THREAT OCCURRED. IN THIS CASE, IT WAS JACKSON COUNTY. I CAN TELL YOU HERE IN OUR AREA, WE HAVE HAD THOSE THINGS HAPPEN. AND THE FBI, OUR SOUTH CAROLINA OFFICE OUT OF COLUMBIA, DOES A GREAT JOB COMMUNICATING WITH US AS WELL AS THE SOUTH CAROLINA LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION. ANOTHER KEY FACTOR IN THIS INVESTIGATION, THE SUSPECTED GUNMAN ALIVE IN CUSTODY, THAT WILL REALLY GIVE THEM SOME QUICK INSIGHT INTO WHY WHERE WHAT HAPPENED, HOW DID HE GET THE FIREARM? CARTER COMMENDED LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR THEIR RESPONSE, WHICH HE SAYS POSSIBLY PREVENTED ANY FURTHER LOSS OF LIFE.
