I've just been so impressed with when it seems like there's more pressure he's more calm and settles in he's done an incredible job with runners in scoring position most guys they get a little tight they start to aim the baseball but for some reason he gets looser the ball comes out of his hand with more life and he's able to wiggle off the hook of tough situations and get his team back in the [Applause] Dugout the one two oh and that one lifted in the air center field Torres on his way over brings it in with a nice running grab and there's one down and here now the lineup for the Royals one guy leading the way offensively for this club right now Adam Frasier and boo we're talking about a guy who has great wheels and then puts them to good use he's the team leader in stolen bases and run score man using his speed to just get in the scoring position and then just flying home when the GU behind him put the ball in play I absolutely love watching him do it because he causes havoc on the base passs one out base is [Applause] empty and it's foul away [Applause] line drive and that should be extra bases and that rolls into the corner they'll throw into second he's in there Bobby Whit Jr with his first major league hit and this is the moment I'm sure he'll never forget con grats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you can take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you work to get here so man aboard Salvador Perez now at the plate two of the most potent offenses in the game squaring [Applause] off swing and a Fly ball in the air out towards right center field judge makes the grab two [Applause] down thatting the left number one MJ Mendez now it'll be the cleanup hitter for the Royals MJ Melendez runner at second two now and we're just getting started here in the top of the first [Applause] swing in a Miss St in out and the inning is over no runs one hit a double no errors and one man left and now the bombers will get their shot no score back at Yankee Stadium and today's starter Cole Reagan safe to say he's pretty stingy Chris well he's been a very dependable starter for his club and what stands out for me is that left-handed hitters have really struggled batting below 200 against him and it just tells me they have a hard time tracking the baseball maybe it's the release point maybe it's the motion but just some way somehow they've got to figure out a way to pick it up and try to have some success from the left side [Applause] so now three and two stays [Applause] alive the wind of the pitch Twins and misses it's a strike out couldn't catch up to the heater and that the first strike out of his major league career and it could be the first of many if he meets the gos he sent for himself and the expectations others have for him he doesn't want to just win games he wants to dominate at this level do you think Young pitchers can sometimes get too caught up and try to rack up PS early in their career H I think they can it's kind of like a hitter that doesn't have power The Thrill is still hitting the ball over the fence and so for a guy even if he doesn't have power stuff or strikeout stuff a strikeout is still something that makes him stick his chest out a little bit further third sto with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you can take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard youve worked to get here now it's Aaron judge up to the [Applause] plate swings and blasts one deep to left Center this looks like extra bases soda around second headed for third coming home he will score they take the lead one nothing so he gets two Milestones with that hit his first big lead knock and he drives his first run as well yeah you love to get both of those out of the way with just one swing of the bat and it makes the special moment even more special it's not just an individual accomplishment when you're also driving in a run for your team that's an in Bat he's never going to [Applause] forget Jazz Chisum Jr now ball a strike the pitch on the ground throws the first in time and time now to check out the New York Yankees lineup it features one of the sports true Superstars Aaron judge yeah Boogie's leading them in batting average and RBI so delivering in a number of ways and you know what if he comes up with the bases empty good chance of getting on base set up his teammates if he comes up with guys on man he could drive him in just a solid contributor for this lineup John Carlos standing at the plate next offering is in for a strike well with this many pitches thrown here in this first inning I mean you're giving the other team a really good look he's going to have to find a way to get some weak contact maybe a swing and Miss get into that Dugout and hit the reset button the pitch and there's B for I don't think you really wanted to pitch to him right there anyhow here's Alex [Applause] Verdugo one misses two and one it's great to get on the board in the first frame of the ball game but here's an opportunity for them to really open things up with a couple of Runners on let's see if they can cash in at the belt fins this one in the dirt but no advant from the [Applause] runners and a pitch and that'll load the bases pretty easy walk right there last pitch wasn't even much to think about two outs Bases Loaded Anthony V the next to hit pitch that one misses that's five straight [Applause] B is loaded two now swinging a miss two two [Applause] now swing and a ball driven pretty well out towards left Center Isbell snags it on the run Yankees strike for a run on the RBI double it's now one- nothing it's major league baseball and it's on the show back at Yankee Stadium second inning set to go here's the cater Freddy fine the 1-1 ball F two balls one [Applause] strike this one chopped on the ground but [Applause] foul two two ground ball Rizzle picks it up he'll do it himself one out in the second that the third Michael Massie next to hit Michael [Music] Massie kicks and fires swing and a miss the two this gu's got such a good Sinker as a hitter you've got to look up in the zone if you look down you're going to chasing stuff in the dirt way [Applause] inside here's the two- two gets a piece and stays [Applause] alive one down base is [Music] empty out to short vuli two up down at the top of the second good Sinker low in the zone right there and produced exactly what he was looking for on the ground nice ground out here's Adam [Music] Frasier just missed it's a good take hit on the ground to the right side and that's just foul two out space is [Applause] empty goes down look KC down in order still behind by a count of one to [Applause] nothing back for more from the r Anthony Rizo steps to the playy you know boo from time to time players mix up their routine if things aren't going their way and Rizzo is no exception when he was in a slump in 2023 he changed his walk up music to Taylor Swift no bad blood there because it worked he went four for four and hit his first home run in over a month he even gave credit to Swift after the game Clyde Washington with home plate duties in this one little bit of a low Zone from Clyde nothing crazy though pitchers that work consistently down around the knees and are able to command their off speed stuff tend to have some pretty good success with him back there behind the plate puts it in the air out towards left Center Melendez drifts towards it makes the grab one away batting the Jose here's Jose trino this guy one of the best defensive catchers going you talk about framing the ability to block catch and throw he is at the top of the game the one- one is fouled off really good athlete and many times we talk about you know the feet of infielders this catcher as well really quick feet he's able to recognize the P swing and this one's blasted he's got a chance and he makes the catch on the track just miss Homer that time man boo I love watching an outfielder take on the wall to make that play and it's a lot easier to watch from up here because that could be painful in the end you know the Wall's coming up on you quickly so you have to maintain concentration in able to make that catch and hold on to it after contact misses off the pl now two balls in a strike really impressive with the way he frames the way that he sets it up because sometimes those pitches are off the plate but because he sets up and presents it so well he still strikes for his pitcher coming on is fam to make the play and gler Torres retired and that is that we played two innings it's one to nothing top half of the third inning so up now for Kansas City number 11 gcia the one one oh two and [Applause] one that's a little bit low first pitch strike from the pitcher but then no Panic at all by The Hitter very patient showing good discipline now he's in the driver's seat with a 3-1 count that one misses so a lead off walk well he tried to nibble right there and just missed his spot didn't offer it now he has somebody to worry about over it first and now it's Kyle Isbell strowman throw a first the Yanks up by a run we're here in the top half of inning number three fall off foul the two strikes may see some movement over there at first base trying to stay out of the double play right [Applause] here three got him swinging and one away he's really good hitting the baseball the other way so for having him out in front of that pitch clearly he had him p here's Tommy fam strowman throw to first back standing he's in there [Applause] safely here comes a pitch runner on the goal there's a ball save well he picked over once just before the pitch to check on him but that didn't seem to slow his jump on the pitch at all I think that guy's been studying some video awesome job to be prepared got the timing down and he gets into scoring [Applause] position the 2-1 way out front for strike two but call the ball and that's ball three just miss off the plate there according to the Umpire and out there on the mound maybe trying to get an explanation can't say he's convinced but it looks like he's accepted it man it's second swing and a miss and he's down on strikes and there is another strike out didn't get the call in the the pitch before like he should have had him looking I think but you know let's get composure right there he found a way to come back with another good pitch to get him to swing Miss now here's Bobby Wht Jr man on second two now hard on the ground to first he takes it himself to the bag and that'll do it so no runs on no hits no errors and one left we move on to the bottom of inning number three Yankees one and the Royals nothing back in New York as we go to the last of the third and now it's [Applause] juano next offering in there for a strike that is strike two nowadays with Advanced metrics and increased use of moving the infielders around defense isn't necessarily about making errors are you able to get to the ball are you able to position fielders where guys hit the ball but within the new shift room definitely made him chase a little bit out of his own right there I don't think that's a strike if he takes it pretty texbook pitching get ahead in the count get the guy in the Box on his heels and then force him to chase your pitch where he doesn't have much of a chance to do any damage and now big number 99 Aaron judge just off the outside edge two and one and an area that goes unnoticed is the coach that's responsible for positioning and then uh the research person that's providing the information so what we're seeing in baseball so many more people behind the scenes that are contributing to the success between the lines one down base is empty judge rips that one fam under it puts it away for the out back when you played it wasn't the empirical data we have now it was a guy with a ruler and a diamond taking a colored pencil and drawing a line where he thought someone had hit the ball right that or just going off of gut or fi what does it look like his swing is today what's the pitcher throwing they are sticking to the metrics and what seems to be most consistent for that hitter regardless of who the pitcher is on the mound two down nobody on fight that one away still one and two swaging the miss the velocity blasted it right past him down in order go the Yankees but they hold a one- nothing lead back in the Bronx as we go to the top of the four now Salvador perezz for you growing up in New York City mean you're a big sports fan tell me about your experience with the Yankees growing up I really went to sha Stadium more than I did to Yankee Stadium I GRE a Phillies fan there was one game though that I went to as a kid I sat in the upper deck it was the game that Bo Jackson had three homers in his first three plate appearances and then her to shoulder diving for Deon Sanders inside the park home run that's probably the most memorable game that I ever attended as a fan at old Yankee Stadium and next up for the Royals MJ [Applause] Melendez swings through that one for St two this guy's sink has so much drop at it it's almost like a split finger fast instead of just weak contact and balls on the ground he get swings and misses Bas is empty one away top half of inning number four the next offering misses two and two really good take especially with two strikes that one way inside [Applause] helpful one down base is empty bows it back with two strikes [Applause] [Applause] good PL appearance there able to take the walk it wasn't easy but he earned that walk after a long atat that's a nice job of grinding out that that's a lot of pitches and ends up dra the walk very gritty 1-1 now and it's way the miss bouns it off still one and two gets a piece there we'll do it again man it first one away battling here as he fouls it [Applause] away ground the ball could be two flips for one and that's two nothing across here this half on now to the bottom of the fourth Yankees one and the Royals nothing back now the Bronx John chami and Chris Singleton with you and leading off the bottom of the fourth John Carlos Stan [Applause] d and a swinging a miss one [Applause] ball not close with that one and the count is two and two and a foul ball he stays [Applause] alive that one missed recognize that change up right out of the hand just spit on it leaves at the Bender for the strike out well that's pretty much the dream two strike curve you're the pitch hard down break at the very end that just dips below the swing path and they say pitchers want to try to bounce that pitch right on top of the plate so that was exactly what he was looking for on the m and up next for New York Alex Verdugo and another ball [Music] that one misses three balls two strikes [Applause] [Applause] fights it off you'll see another [Music] 32 that's to third Massie tosses to First that was a strong at bat even though he couldn't find a way on base he's doing a nice job of keeping the ball out of the air lets the defense work behind him with another ground ball good execution two outs B is empty and here is Anthony vulpi and he deals so a foul ball makes it one and two two outs swings through that one it's a strike out so the Yanks go in order they're on top one nothing here at new Yankee stadium in the Bronx New inning getting started here's the third baseman Michael Massie [Applause] and a foul [Applause] ball leftand hitter Waits inside almost got [Applause] him struck Him Out Swinging couldn't hit the fast ball at the knees Adam Frasier steps in for the Royals the Yankees leading by a run we're at the top of the [Applause] fif one down base is empty swing and he breaks his back chisen Zips it across and the first two set down on the top of the pill good slider inside right there batter fighting to get there just rolled over it got the ground ball now it's the second baseman so critical to keep an eye on the pitch count this time of the year guys can start to run on fumes a little bit mechanics can drop off and we know they need him to be fresh and ready for big innings in October looking sharp just a strike away from five shut out innings the onew out towards left Center Verdugo ranging after it no trouble here puts it away for the out and that is that still nothing on the scoreboard for him after five Yankees one and the Royals nothing ready to go for the last half of the inning and here's here's the first Bas Anthony Rizzo Anthony Rizo the [Music] pitch one [Applause] straight popped up wh under it makes the catch and there's one g [Applause] up next the Yanke the so diing in Jose trino he is at the top of the game in terms of Defense at the catching spot pitch misses there and that's B two it's so impressive because these guys have to do so much study and preparation for their pitchers for opposing hitters and really their number one job is to guide that St through aall game and so when you also can turn it up offensively and be a force there that is a win-win every manager's dream the pitch swings and misses on the fast up in the zone for the strikeout Bo gets talked about a lot but a good high fast and a two strike situation it's just become such a problem for hitters in more recent years with all the emphasis by pitchers on developing that spin rate having a good grip on the baseball those High fast balls they kind of look like to The Hitter that they're Rising even though they're not but they're not decreasing in velocity and spin rate so very difficult to get the barrel line breaks his Bat pops it up and gaver Torres retired and that is that nothing doing for the offense that time we're through five Yankees one and the Royals nothing back at Yankee Stadium all right we go to the top half of inning number six and to the pl for Kansas City Kyle Isbell next pitch is downstairs and a strike on the outside h righty delivers just swing the Miss and that's one out as they get the lead off hitter in the six that's about as nasty of a Splitters you'll come across especially in terms of movement I me that thing tumbles out of his hand and just drops off the table at the last moment if he keeps it down it's just so tough in the so the Royals batting order turns over Tommy fan will hit next next offering is in for a strike the line of the pitch foul ball another two two [Applause] upcoming one down base is empty ground ball left side Jazz toss the first too quick outs to open the top of the six good armide run to that same side hitter right there very difficult to put that ball in the air or get through it just pours in on the hands here's the short stop at the play Bobby Wick Jr two down dolman on that one fouled off and the pitch down to the dirt swing in a miss and it's end time for the third out so that'll end the inning make it six shutout innings for him out there now Yankees one and the Royals nothing and welcome back to the ballpark and the batter now Juan SoDo love how vocal the Umpire is today no doubt in the hitter's mind catcher mind and even the pitcher's mind as to the conviction in the call the wi to kick the pitch misses three and two now the Lefty closing in on 100 pitches hammers that one curling down the line and foul only on that fast show the pitcher taking a note have speed pitch in this next round 32 now good job to fight that one [Applause] off the Lefty fires foul we'll see another payoff [Applause] pitch and here it comes swing and a pop up in foul grab fine squeezes it and there's one down manager out of the Dugout now and it looks like we'll see a change on the midd Cole Reagan won't go any further and a nice effort out of him no doubt new Arm coming on we'll be back for that in a [Music] moment so the Royals bring on a new arm Alec Marsh and he comes on here for the first time this season and I'm sure there's some nerves involved in that so we'll see how he set in here comes Aaron judge he's not going to get cheated up there no he's not he's looking to do damage with every swing he takes the line in the pitch and another ball when you look at the Yankees and think about all those retired numbers in fact no more single digits are available with the exception of zero Chris what stands out to you well for me it kind of explains why I wore number 80 in spring training with the Yankees other than the fact I wasn't going to make the team uh you look at it it is pretty difficult if you would say as a guy that gets drafted or signs with that team to think of man how am I going to get comfortable with a new number cuz there not many options left and a base [Applause] hit most hitters dream of being able to hit breaking pitches as well as this guy it takes great back to skills to be able to be as good as he is against the pitches he faces now the third baseman Jazz jism Jr pitch got a good eye there so many great players have played for the Yankees the likes of Garrick and Ruth and dagio and mantle and then the other retired numbers that really represent the most recent path of success LED of course by number two Derek Jeter yeah and obviously the one that stands out the most is that number two so many people familiar with the iconic shortstop Derek Jers and the Championships that the Yankees won while he was team captain just impressive but no question about it the history and all of the the legacies of the New York Yankees players over the years is very Dynamic swing and a ball lined out towards Center two down man he's smoked that fast ball he all over and it's just frustrating when you can't get it to fall maybe next time find and here is John Carlos Stanton I think it's one of the best all time an art student at wo CLA created it it is super creative and I think one of the better logos we have in the sport two outs off the plate inside and the count is even two and two and the pitch swing in a Miss couldn't hit the fast ball at the knees the Yanks leave one they lead it one nothing back here in New York and now Salvador Perez a lot of times you're looking for a guy to get that run on base but because of the power you want him to tie up the game with one swing here and now two and one activity in the Bull Pen for the Yankees Tim mea getting loose out there for Aaron boom lighter getting loose as well next offering is down low three in one you get to this part of the order yeah there's some pop there but more likely some base hits so very important to be patient the if you 31 and he couldn't come up with it it feels to me like his time on the m is running sure show some signs of fatigue so we'll see how much longer they let it go and now it'll be the cleanup spot for the Royals MJ Melendez smoked on the ground a second off balance feet there's one to First not in time great effort there tough play right there didn't really have enough time to set his feet and make a strong accurate throw had to rush it but he got it off and he got it there in time to get that out at second base Freddy fine steps in for the [Applause] Royals and there's a hit they fired in quickly so it's first and second with only one away now B Freddy fine with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you could take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you've worked to get here Daron Boon makes his way out of the dugout and he will make a move to the bullpen that's it for Marcus strowman and the line not closed on him yet as he's responsible for the runners on base back with a new pitcher after this on the M now Tim Hill well the best relievers love the opportunity to come in and protect the tight lead late in the ball game some of them are just wired different so we'll see what he's got here [Music] here's the third baseman Michael [Applause] Massie swings and misses that's stri two at the dish looking to the ball in the air in the spot anything but the inning ending double play boo one out the possible tying and goahead runs on base still two and two after the foul [Applause] ball and now the Lefty okay at this point in the game you cannot issue free passes he's going to have to challenge this hitter hitter's got to be ready to swing it Adam Frasier on deck for the Royals payoff pitch on the ground right side four six three it's a double play and that'll do it for the year pitcher made the pitch and his players made the play behind him nice job 463 inning ending double [Applause] play we're back in a new pitcher here to start the bottom of the seven Sam long pretty tight game so they're looking for Quality pitches out of them right here got to do his best to keep the score right where it is Alex bero stepping in now for the Yankees little surprised they don't see a pinch hitter here with the Lefty Lefty matchup here's a one1 just missed these two offenses can put up runs in a hurry ripped on a line calls it in for the out one up one down the batter number 11 Short Stop Anthony vulpi stepping in now for the Yankees that one catches the zone and the count one and [Applause] two B is empty one away here the bottom of the seven in the air on the infield settles underneath it and there's two away going to have to have a little more discipline in future bats that pitch looked good but you can't hit it it was just too high in the zone you usually see a swing and miss or weak contact in the infield two down nobody on he swings and fouls one off left hand batter WS two balls two strikes to count with two outs this one in the a center field and that is that offense held to check there eighth inning coming up Yankees one and the Royals nothing welcome back as we have a pinch hitter to lead it off drone Blanco and he would be the tying onun board so we may see him try to La one if he gets a good pitch to [Applause] handle and it falls so a man on base to start the [Applause] inning drone Blanco with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has toit so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you can take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you work to get here no outs runner at first here's the second baseman step off throw to first blun Dives back in safely if you're a base runner you got to stay dialed in here look for anything in the dirt try your best to get in the scoring position R takes off pitch in for a strike and that's a stolen base not even close well it seems like 90 ft is such a big deal in a tight one-run game like this one maybe it's a little bit risky but they felt good about it and it paid off see if they can turn this into a Big R so the tying run at second hard ground ball pce now around third he scores to tie it up it's 1-1 so he gets two Milestones with that hit his first big lead knock and he drives in his first run as well yeah you love to get both of those out of the way with just one swing of the bat and it makes the special moment even more special it's not just an individual accomplishment when you're also driving in a run for your team that's an in Bat he's never going to forget [Applause] now a pitch hitter coming on for the Royals Robbie gomi he comes to the plate in a huge spot in this one substitution now at first base pinch running here Garrett hson now snap to First and he Dives back in [Applause] safely and the pitch right through there for a [Applause] strike at the belt fins and that's outside Downs full three and two movement in the bullpen Jake cousins getting loose out there Holmes getting cranked up as well with the goahead run at first and we're in the top of the eighth in the air right field calls it in one away so the lineup flips over Tommy F getting ready to hit well with pretty good speed over there at first base I think the pitcher's got to slow everything down hold the ball a little bit step off just try to break the Rhythm and timing of a potential steel that misses three and one Bobby Whit Jr next up for Kansas [Applause] City the pitch swung on bed that Ball's carrying and it's gone that's one way to quiet the crowd his first Homer of the year it's 3-1 these fans are dealing with some heartbreak right now [Applause] it's like he's playing whiffle ball up there and that's typically not the easiest way to hit a home run to the slight opposite field into the Gap man making it look easy that's for sure [Applause] [Music] [Music] out of the bullpen for the Yankees Tommy Canley just trying to keep this one close here and this is where a bullpen can give their players a chance to fight back into the gamey one down so up now for Kansas City Bobby Wick Jr one down BCE is empty and a base hit showed some really nice patience in that b worked himself into a good count other than ripping one into the gap or blasting one over the wall there aren't a whole lot of hits that are more satisfying than a nice Line Drive in the center field so that definitely felt good and now they've got some speed on first so we'll see if they try to get him into motion [Applause] righty to the plate runner on the goal and they'll do it again kicks andal hit on the ground might be two Torres tosses the first and they get Perez for the out good armide run and sink on that pitch right there got inside on him and got him to bounce into that out and Mendez MJ Melendez steps in for the [Applause] Royals he's trying for third pitching for a strike throw to Third and he's in there easily very risky right there to try to steal third with two outs and a Leander at the plate and there's an open Lane for that catcher to flow down but he gambled now he's at third 90 ft closer perhaps a ball in the dirt that gets away from the Catcher And they pick up a run swing and a miss struck him out inning ends and that stops the bleeding two-run shot for the Royals this inning it's now a 3-1 ball game back after this on the show so remaining in the game defensively Robbie gomi he'll be out in center now after pinch hitting also into the ball game gar hson he play second a new arm into the game the righty John these are the spots relever really make a name for themselves late and close there's not much margin for error but at the same time there's a reason they're put in these situations here's the Yankees catcher now jinho here's a one-1 the Yankees looking to around you know these Yankees just lacking discipline at the plate in this ball game chasing pitches has been a big part of the story we've seen it quite a bit today it's been tough for them to make contact at times and it just doesn't look like they're seeing it very well as a group into the Outfield base hit and that turns the lineup over Jose trino with his first major league hit and this is the moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does it kind of be overwhelming D you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you can take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you work to get here here's glamer [Applause] Torres swing and a miss and that strike two and on the M you know confidence has to be pretty high with all of the swings and misses he's had him eaten out of the palm of his hand pretty much all game the tying run at the plate foul ball still one and two count right-handed reliever and that one is lifted in the air sizes this one up makes the grab one down right here's WTO a look out here he's going come up ready to swing in this situation now this team is definitely looking for a big swing of the bat right here try to close that Gap but you know at the very least if you can find a way to manufacture that run from first it feels like it's really important of getting back into this ball game and that one moves his feet about the right guy at the right spot they really need a rally and this guy is someone you can believe in to find a way to get on base tying run at the plate and a swing and a miss that's out number two oh there he gets the slider in on his hands and he just eats it off it's hard to get the bat around pitch like that in tight you just feel like you're crowded on the inside part of the plate can't get any extension that's what he definitely should have laid off of here is Aaron Jon two outs ripped to short inning over one left for the Yankees and it remains a 3-1 ball game [Applause] we're back it's the top of the night and there's a new pitcher on the mound Luis heel this is his first appearance of the [Applause] Season Freddy fine steps in for the Royals this is a guy who is very highly regarded defensively fun to watch him control stuff behind the plate Good Game caller good at framing but it's that big arm that really stands out lined in left Center and that should be extra bases makes the turn and heads for second and he greets the new arm from the bullpen with a double couple of hits in a row for him here great Hands On That Swing took the bar right to the baseball caught it out front and ripped it into the Gap at that point he probably no question in his mind that he was going for two that's just a great feeling and next up for the Royals Michael Massie the one to one foul ball runner in scoring position nobody out here at the top of the [Applause] night and another ball [Applause] on the ground to short loves it on the dive throw to first and they get the out great C like reflexes right there lays out knocks the ball down and then firers with that rocket arm all the way across the DI put this guy in the [Applause] mou now here is dyone Blanco so a foul ball makes it one and two and the rander deals keeps the it back going with a foul ball that one misses it's two and [Applause] [Applause] two and a pitch got it F I love to see guys compete and I know he's frustrated that he wasn't able to do anything with that pitch you see it so well but you have to respect the upper 90s velocity and it is hard to catch up to here's G hson swing and a miss that one missed by a ton [Applause] one and two here up the middle On The Run throw to first and that's the third out a double in the inning but they leave him stranded on to the bottom of inning number nine 456 coming up it's the Royals three and the Yankees [Applause] one back now as hand the ball to a fresh arm to start the bottom of the nin Lucas aich a chance at his first save of the year now the third baseman Jazz Chisum Jr it's interesting he plays kind of a a power spot defensively but runs pretty well so when you're looking at that position you're not expecting someone that has maybe above average speed but he does swinging a Miss as he was out front that time wouldn't chase that time and I think that skill set really upgrades the position because when you have that kind of speed it makes the whole team that much better and another ball what about him playing another position on defense one that would require a little more range absolutely and I think if push came to shove where they had to make a a move during a game it surprise a lot of people you might even be able to put them in center field and that's ball for they're not ready to go home quite yet leading up for and now it's John Carlos and things could change quickly here tying r at the plate good eye in that spot BR this is a real tough B for visiting teams to come in and close out ball games for a win swing and a miss he was late strike two it's amazing to look up and see 88 mph on that change out back in the day that was a pretty good fast ball but with high velocities these days that speed differential is right where it needs to [Applause] be two two got him looking that's a strike out he's going to have some thinking to do when he leaves the ballark after this his third strike out and this one looking obviously so he's put a little over match he's got to find a way just to be more competitive up there at the pl he's two outs away Al fordo stepping in now for the Yankees next offering is in for a [Applause] strike rander kicks deal swinging in a Miss that's a strike out and they're down to their last out and the batter will be the short stop Anthony vul [Applause] throw to first chisel back easily at least you got the pitchure thinking a little bit you don't want to run yourself out of the ball game you get thrown out or picked off it's over the one-1 bounce to Third and foul ball with the tying run at the plate here in the last half of inning number nine that finishes the evening's action nice work out of the buin for that first MLB win they turn to him when they didn't have the lead he kept things steady and he's rewarded with the w and your final 3-1 for Chris single and our entire crew I'm John shaie saying so long for
