Introduction [Music] greetings and salutations everyone my name is ang kof and welcome to my YouTube channel today I'm going to be talking about seven League winners for our upcoming 2024 fantasy football draft players at a variety of different positions that aren't going to cost you early round draft Capital because that is truly what makes a potential League winner going into the 2024 fantasy football season now this time last year I talked about players like bejan Robinson jir Gibbs Alan rossin Brown being League ERS for the 2023 season and even though those players were certainly the Catalyst as to whether or not you were winning games when you spend early round draft capital for those players the implication is that they should be carrying your team considering they're a first or second round selection so I want to talk about players who in terms of average draft position are far lower than the first couple rounds and we'll Trey McBride Begin by talking about Trey McBride tight end of of course the Arizona Cardinal so let's talk about the potential of Trey McBride leading us to a 2024 Fantasy Football Championship based on his overall contributions now again Trey McBride A 22 second round selection out of Colorado State his final season at Colorado state was incredible in terms of tight end statistics coming out of college one of the best to ever do it 122 targets his final year that led to 90 receptions 1,125 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown a 4540 speed in the NFL combine so of course we knew he was a special talent but he has played behind Zack Zs for the last couple seasons and at the beginning of the 2023 year he still was the backup to Zack ZZ throughout weeks 1 through 7 he he was only averaging 3.0 targets per game and 3.5 fantasy points per game while only playing 44% of the offensive snaps eventually Zack Herz of course had his unfortunate season ending injury which granted Trey McBride an opportunity to take over this offense and of course transform into the player he is regarded as right now from weeks 8 through 18 without Zack Herz he was averaging eight and a half targets per game 11.65 fantasy points per game throughout that span of time played 86% of the offensive snaps was the number four overall tight end and number in terms of fantasy points per game on average amongst all tight ends last season again having missed a vast majority of the overall Year from weeks 1 through 7 not playing he was still number two in yards per route run and number two in yards after the catch only behind George KD within that category which again gives you an indication as to what kind of potential we may see in a full 17 Game season because last season from weeks 10 through 18 once Kyler Murray returned from his injury recovery throughout that span of time he was averaging 8.25 targets with Kyler which led to 11.5 four fantasy points per game getting himself a 25.5% Target rate which was him being targeted one out of every four routes that he was running within the offense a 17 game Pace would have led to Trey McBride accumulating 140 targets 113 receptions 1,143 receiving yards four receiving touchdowns and 196.168 continue to find themselves more and more success even last season from weeks 10 through 18 with Kyler in the three games in which Trey mcy took on division Rivals within the NFC west of course they're going to face those teams the 49ers the Rams and the Seahawks six out of their potential 17 games he was averaging 11.87 fantasy points per game he finishes the number nine overall ranked tight end last season but the truth of the matter is he could very easily finish as the number one overall tight end by the end of the 2024 season whenever your tight end is either the number one or the number to receiving threat of your offense they have a significantly higher chance of being you know within this overall range of being in the top five conversation we talk about guys like Travis Kelce the potential number one of his offense Sam leapor the number two Mark Andrews the number one Trey McBride the number two behind Marvin Harrison Jr but there even is a opportunity in which maybe you know Trey McBride ends up being the number one which would make this overall investment that much more valuable now again that's probably not going to happen but you never know it's a nonzero chance for sure last season in games in which Kyler Murray played with in this offense of course he targeted the tight end position 34% of his total passing attempts again that is a lot of opportunity primarily because of the offensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals Drew petk was a firsttime offensive coordinator last season with the Cardinals prior to that he was a Browns former tight ends coach he loves to utilize a tight end position of course Kevin stefansky a you know the head coach of the Cleveland Browns over the last four seasons heavily utilized as tight end position we have seen David and joku of course be a prominent Force within that offense but the Cardinals last year amongst all teams led the league in terms of tight end targets with 179 they're going to continue to force feed the ball towards Trey McBride and I'm hoping he is going to be a League winner in 2024 now before we continue on talking about other players and potentially the thank you very much for all the support all right so let's talk Jayden Daniels about the second League winner I wanted to mention the thumbnail of today's episode jayen Daniels I've mentioned this in the past and I'm going to continue to mention it because of how valuable this statistic is that I found this offseason over the course of the last 10 high Trophy winning quarterbacks who have played a full rookie season healthy we're talking about guys like Cam Newton RG3 Mariota Winston Lamar Jackson burrow Mayfield Murray of all those potential quarterbacks and of course Bryce young this last year only one of them averaged less than 17 fantasy points within their rookie year that player being Bryce young so every single other one of these quarterbacks average over 17 fantasy points per game and if jadden Daniels is going to be on the right side of history and continue this Heisman streak of success 17 games by 17 fantasy points minimum is 289 fantasy points which last season would have made Jaden Daniels the number seven overall quarterback in fantasy football now that volume of overall points 289 that's a base minimum in terms of his overall potential for success primarily because he is a mobile quarterback I've talked about it a lot this offseason and quite frankly over the course of the last couple seasons in a four-point perp passing touchdown format we always want our quarterback to have the option of mobility and able to get themselves yardage and of course touchdowns with their legs in the last two years at LSU he's been able to accumulate I mean in 2023 1134 rushing yards 10 rushing touchdowns the year prior 885 rushing yards 11 rushing touchdowns so he is certainly capable as a runner to go ahead and find himself a lot of fantasy success besides what he's capable of accomplishing with his arm and their new offensive coordinator Cliff kingsberry is going to continue to allow jayen Daniels to utilize his arm and be an immediate threat within the Fantasy realm in terms of the overall landscape again there are a lot of great quarterbacks going into this year a lot of great mobile quarterbacks but jayen Daniels B based on where he is being drafted is an incredible investment the reason why I feel so strongly about this is because of what Cliff Kingsbury was able to do you know in the past with Kyler Murray again you got to remember Kyler Murray was his quarterback in 2019 his rookie year first overall selection in that year Kyler Murray was number 11 amongst all quarterbacks in terms of fantasy points per game and number 12 overall in terms of total fantasy points scored he put up 3700 passing yards 544 rushing yards 24 total touchdowns averaged points per game and that was the beginning of all the success that Kyler continued to have built throughout his entire career now you got to remember Cliff kingsberry this offseason many of you may not be aware of this he was already pretty much signed sealed and delivered to be the offensive coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders once he realized they weren't drafting a quarterback he went ahead and said you know what I don't want the job anymore send me somewhere else he went and signed with Washington knowing that Jaden Daniels was going to land within this position because he wanted to go ahead and Coach a top tier quarterback that was of course being drafted within the National Football League coming out of college last season of course he was a participant in terms of the coaching staff of the USC Trojans so Cliff kingsburry wanted to go ahead and continue his you know college prowess into the National Football League bringing in very similar concepts for someone like Jaden Daniels so going into this year with all the negative game scripts that are going to be on hand and all of the threats that they've kind ahead and added to this offense I mean yes you went ahead and you traded away Johan doson but quite frankly I think that makes it easier for us fantasy managers not to have to worry about Johan doson especially those of us who were trying to draft him but you bringing guys like Z sonat Eckler guys that are going to be able to be immediate Target you know Hogs within this offense primarily if in fact he needs to look for his safety blanket and/ or veteran option in the passing game but the thing that really makes me believe that Jayden Daniels has himself a lot of value this season is the overall contribution of success that Sam how presented in 2023 Sam how within this offense last year was the number 14 overall quarterback in fantasy football and even though his season fell apart from weeks 15 through 18 primarily because of all of the hits he took he was the most sacked quarterback amongst all in 2023 I think he was sacked 64 times an unbelievable number but from weeks 1 through 13 he was averaging 267 passing yards per game 1.4 passing touchdowns 18.7 rushing yards per game and 18.23% moving on let's talk about javante Williams running back of the Denver Broncos now when I look back at 2023 and Javonte Williams where I went wrong within my overall rankings because again again there is always an opportunity to learn in the re-evaluation of where you could have gone right or wrong within your past decisions so when I looked back at 2023 and I looked at all of the potential studs that ended up legitimately being League winners we're talking about guys like you know Bree Hall last year yes he was coming off a post ACL and there was competition with dvin cook that was worrisome James Cook again we didn't expect him to get himself that high you know level of opportunity David Montgomery was competing with Jamir gibs and there was questions of whether or not the workload would be able to allow him to be great Alvin Kamar coming off the suspension Jamal Williams was within that offense as well Rashad white did we anticipate he was going to get 330 plus touches DeAndre Swift there was a Potential Threat of a committee gel and Penny same thing with isaia Pacho last season with McKinnon and CH and even though many of us were influenced by fear of the potential of these running backs not living up to their expectations all of them despite their adps were able to easily outperform them and be League winning potential options so going into this upcoming season when I look at the situation that revolves around the Denver Broncos backfield I think Javonte Williams pretty much fills in within that you know overall narrative there is a quote unquote threat of a committee additionally there is the potential of Sam perine and Jalil mlin stealing workload from him and of course last year wasn't great overall primarily because of that post ACL so going into 2024 what has changed why am I feeling so much more confident well earlier today we got a little bit of news regarding the potential of samaj perine you know pretty much being on that roster bubble we've heard it over the course of the last month in terms of rumors but there was nothing that substantiated the potential of him being on the roster bubble but recently of course there is talks about him being traded and of course moving on from the Denver Broncos going into this upcoming year because Shawn Payton this offseason has really gotten in tune with Javon Williams and his capabilities we've already heard sha pman say that gavonte Williams looks completely different he looks like the running back that he used to be at North Carolina and said that that's the running back that he wants on roster this year and that's what he's going to get now of course Shawn Payton did also mention that last season for Javon Williams wasn't the greatest into fairness to Javon Williams again he was coming off of the ACL injury in 2022 and his 2023 year yeah wasn't the greatest but when you look at the history of running backs that came off of you know grade three ACL and LCL terce I mean since 2015 running backs had dealt with ACL terce of course of course Bree Hall finishes the number four overall back last season but javante finishes number 30 uh saquan Barkley finishes 32 in his first season back and even dvin cook finishes 29 in his first season back the history suggests you're not supposed to have yourself the huge success within that first year back it's actually the second year and even though Bree Hall and Adrien Peterson have tested the limits and really gotten to unbelievable levels of success this is javante Williams comeback season I mean prior to his ACL in 2021 having split 50% of the backfield with Melvin Gordon in the Denver Broncos backfield he finishes the number 17 overall running back in fantasy football and when we talk about the opportunity that he is going to have this year I mean last season he already controlled 68% of the running back rushing attempts and 41% of the running back Targets in healthy games that he played last season in games which he had 50% or more of the offensive snaps 13 and a half fantasy points per game on average and you take into account that Shawn Payton throughout his entire career as a offensive play caller and of course offensive Guru whether it was with the New Orleans Saints are now with the Denver Broncos he has always heavily targeted his running backs last season the Denver Broncos were number one in terms of running back targets and receptions if you go back and look at the days of of course the New Orleans Saints from 2018 to 2021 he targeted his running backs within those given years 133 143 133 and 104 times again he gives his running backs a lot of opportunity and in the absence of samaj perine we have a vacancy of 56 targets and 50 receptions for 455 receiving yards that is now absent from last season's overall box score so going into this upcoming year behind one of the best offensive lines in terms of run blocking rates in terms of continuity they get four of their five starters returning additionally in terms of run blocking grades last season they were number eight amongst all offensive lines and they were number 13 in terms of dvoa and lastly they were number three in terms of run blocking win rate amongst all teams a 74% success rate within that overall category you have Bo knck who has looked very good this off season and could surprise many of us and hopefully could lead and Elevate to more touchdowns for some like Javonte Williams this upcoming season let's move Cooper Kupp on to Cooper Cup who I have talked about a lot this offseason and I'm going to continue to do so because he's one of my favorite wide receivers of all time in terms of fantasy football because of what he's been able to accomplish but what really does allow us to look at Cooper cup and question you know what does really make a league winning wide receiver what have we seen over the course of the last couple years Seasons that we can learn from last season the wide receivers that many of us did ignore were often due to hey you know this guy's always been injured or hey this guy's getting up there in a or potentially even a combination last season Keenan Al was a dominant Force another Los Angeles wide receiver that ended up being number three overall in terms of fantasy points per game scored on average amongst all last season yet again he was up there in age and yes he was dealing with a lot of injuries back in 2022 yet in 2023 was an Unstoppable Force Debo Samuel again within that overall boat of yes can he stay healthy I'm beginning to see a very similar narrative here with Cooper many people afraid of his potential because of the recent injury history but you got to remember this is a number one overall wide receiver in fantasy football back in 2021 number one overall he was the Triple Crown winner he had the most overall receptions receiving yards and receiving touchdowns amongst all players within the 2021 year and continuing on to 2022 even with Matthew Stafford being beat up Cooper cup was the number one overall wide receiver in fantasy points per game and total fantasy points prior to his season ending injury again over the course of the 2021 to 2022 season including the playoffs averaging 21.6 fantasy points per game and you don't get to score that volume of fantasy points by luck I mean those are higher numbers than what we saw CD lamb and of course Tyreek Hill produced last season Cooper cup is a special talent from 2021 to 2023 getting himself a 30% Target rate an unbelievable number so does he have top 12 upside this year yes objectively he does every season that Cooper cup will continue to play with Matthew Stafford he will continue to have upside of that capacity especially considering when we take into account last year was dealing with an injury to begin the season from weeks 1 through four missed it because of the hamstring injury and he even voiced that he wasn't healthy for the entire season yet he still got himself a 24% uh you know Target rate in terms of one out of every four routes he was running he was getting himself a target from Matthew Stafford additionally in games in which he played healthy with a healthy Matthew Stafford from weeks 5 through 17 8.7 targets per game and 12.75 fantasy points per game over a 17 Game season that's 148 targets and 217 fantasy points what a finish as wide receiver 11 last year this was all while puka nakua was healthy and dominating himself with 8.8 targets per game and 13.7 fantasy points per game so yes they can coexist primarily because the quarterback that is within this Rams offense and the offensive play caller Shawn McVey is only going to continue to lead them in the right direction for success I mean just take into account last season the games in which Cooper cup was given eight or more targets he was able to get that in seven of the 10 healthy games he played with Matthew Safford he was averaging 15.37 fantasy points per game and like I've talked about this offseason with other players like AJ Brown uh and his overall relationship with Jaylen Herz their best friends the potential of you know CJ strout and tank Dell being best friends but of course we know that this Duo Matthew Stafford and Cooper cup they have a podcast together they eat breakfast every morning together as long as they're both healthy they're an Unstoppable Force there's a reason why Cooper cup had more Red Zone targets than puka AA last year despite the fact that you know he played far less games overall within this offense there's just more of a trust with Cooper cup to get the job done so going into into this upcoming year if he's fully able to stay healthy which we anticipate to see in 2024 yes he is older but understand that there have been Elite wide receiver play at an older age over the course of the last couple Seasons I mean Cooper cup amongst all wide receivers was number 17 in terms of fantasy points per game Kenan Allen number three Mike Evans number six Devonte Adams number 18 even guys like DeAndre Hopkins and Adam Thelen had themselves surprising Seasons last year within lackluster offenses with terrible quarterback play in comparison to what Cooper cup has himself and Thor for 2024 again I I really do believe that Shawn McVey is going to be able to elevate this offense he's been able to support two wide receivers in the past when we talk about you know Robert Woods back in 2021 even after Robert Woods went down with his ACL injury you know he was averaging 12.7 for fantasy points per game prior to the injury but even after he left you know Odell Beckham Jr was traded into the organization and immediately found success on a consistent basis over 10 fantasy points per game and the fact that puka Aku is dealing with an offseason injury all signs are pointing towards League winning upside with Cooper cup moving moving on to the Tennessee Titans organization let's talk about Calvin Ridley again Calvin Ridley Calvin Ridley is someone that I talk about every offseason he's one of my favorite wide receivers in the league but I think he is being overlooked on many occasions this season because of the fact that he is associated with an unproven quarterback and one that may not be able to support his overall potential for success but when you look back at 2023 there were offenses that had Elite pass catchers that despite the fact that they had terrible quarterbacks still were able to find themselves a lot of fantasy success let's talk about potentially Devonte Adams his two quarterbacks were Jimmy Garoppolo and Aiden oconnell yet he still finishes a top 12 wide receiver for Fantasy purposes let's talk about Michael Pitman Jr for majority of the Season it was Gard Ru at quarterback despite that Michael Pitman Jr finished his wide receiver 15 we even had someone like George Pickins who managed to finish as wide receiver 26 overall despite having Rudolph trabitz and of course Kenny picket as his starting quarterbacks so going into this year Calvin Ridley with Will Evis is not that bad Calvin Ridley is an already established wide receiver he's finished most recently at is the number 17 overall wide receiver but prior to that the final season he played with the Atlanta Falcons and a full rate he was the number four overall wide receiver he has so much talent I mean just last year in games in which he was given ample opportunity eight plus targets per game averaging 12.68% more Targets in 12 of the 17 games he played last year additionally against the AFC South against team that weren't named the Tennessee Titans because he is staying within the AFC South going from the Jaguars to the Titans now he was averaging 12.4 fantasy points per game against his division rivals I really do believe that Calvin Ridley within this offense is going to be a seamless f for Success primarily because of what kind of wide receiver he is last season he was a huge deep threat within the Jacksonville Jaguars offense amongst all wide receivers was number four in Targets number seven receptions number four in receiving yards and number six in receiving touchdowns in terms of plays 20 yards or more down the field and luckily for us will Levis has a cannon of an arm and he's going to let it Loose just like he did late last season throughout weeks 8 through 15 with DeAndre Hopkins DeAndre Hopkins with Will Levis was averaging eight .63 targets per game and 13.4 fantasy points per game so with so much potential on hand for Calvin Ridley and so much opportunity of targets going in his direction of course we do have some Target competition in terms of DeAndre Hopkins but he's currently dealing with an injury then we have trayon Burks who really hasn't panned out since being traded for you know AJ Brown and then of course you have Tyler boy who's on a one-year $4 million deal and is only being brought over primarily because of the current play caller and new head coach of the Tennessee Titans Brian Callahan a former offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals now besides bringing over someone like Tyler Boyd he's Al also bringing over his father who is one of the greatest offensive line coaches in the National Football League which is going to continue to sh up this offense which certainly is needed considering the offensive line troubles that they have had over the last couple years luckily the offense went ahead and reinvested within another offensive linan in terms of their first round draft Capital this season just like they did the year prior and they also signed cushenberry this offseason four years a lot of money again they're rebolting their offensive line which they certainly need to do but what Brian Callahan brings from last season as the OC of the Bengals they were number two amongst all teams in wide receiver targets what we have heard all offseason is Brian Callahan come out and say that he is going to utilize Calvin Ridley as the Jamar Chase of this offense and if that's going to be the case and he's going to play opposite of DeAndre Hopkins he may be in a role very similar to what he had in Atlanta in which he was opposite of Julio but now he'll be opposite of DeAndre Hopkins and he's not going to have to pull number one coverage every time he may be moved into the slot position he may be finding himself a lot of success Within These scenarios very similar to the way in which of course Brian Callahan has utilized Jamar Chase in the last couple Seasons whether it's a deep threat whether it's close to the line of scrimmage whether it's on screen passes it does not matter he can be utilized in a multitude of ways and considering how talented of a receiver is should be able to find a success and quite frankly even though many believe that this offense is going to be a complete garbage fire I honestly think that the Tennessee Titans and all of their weapons May in fact outproduce their overall adps going into this year whether it be Calvin Ridley maybe even DeAndre Hopkins depending on how his injury pans out but even this next player that I wanted to mention Tony Pollard which is Tony Pard of the Tennessee Titans let's stay on the topic of this team and let's talk about Tony Paul one of my favorite players going into the 2023 year but unfortunately didn't pan out finishes RB 15 despite the fact that I had him ranked within the top overall what five or six running backs now everything did not pan out the rushing touchdowns certainly weren't there but in a new home with a New Jersey there is potential for Tony Paul to League winner because his current value based on ADP makes him potentially an option that we can go after in terms of a low investment that could lead to a lot of success and like I talked about earlier with gavon Williams what we look for in terms of League winning upside a running back is a running back that is within rounds 3 through eight in the running back dead zone that may in fact be an investment that you can make primarily because everyone else is being influenced by the fear of Tai Spears just like Pacho DeAndre Swift you know chimra Montgomery you know ET TN last season many of us influenced by the fear of the backup running backs impeding on their success there may be a fear that oh Taj Spears is going to be one of these guys there's a 1 a 1B conversation I certainly believe and I know for a fact based on the eye test that Tony PA is the better running back yes he is an older running back and he has a lot more potential mileage on his body within the circumstance but I truly do believe that Tony Pard could be the Joe Mixon of this offense and the reason why I say it again is because of course Brian Callahan the former OC of Cincinnati Bengals over the course of the last couple years coming over to of course be the head coach and the primary play caller of the Tennessee Titans I mentioned it earlier when I talked about Calvin really this offensive line has been you know restructured they spent another first- round draft pick for the second year in a row to get a first- round offensive linean they brought in Lloyd cushenberry which again they signed for a pretty big deal this offseason you bring in Brian Callahan's father who's one of the best offensive line coaches in the National Football League probably only you know he could be tied or potentially even second to the offensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles when you bring him into this organiz ation there was a lot of potential for success now even though Brian Callahan as the OC of the Bengals last year you know even though they didn't run the ball much they ranked 30th amongst all teams in terms of running back rushing attempts 23rd and running back targets and 29th amongst all teams in terms of running back opportunities being the total of attempts and targets for the running back position despite all of that they still supported the number eight overall running back in fantasy football Joe Mixon last season averaged 18.14 touches per game throughout 17 games over the course of the last three seasons Joe Mixon has averaged 5.2 three targets per game and 4.29 receptions per game so why not Tony Pard a just as capable running back that in my opinion when you compare that Cincinnati Bengals offensive line to what the Tennessee Titans have one isn't significantly better than the other they're both just mediocre or just bad all together but going into this year there's a lot of potential for Tony Paul someone that last season in games in which he had 15 or more touches averaging 14 fantasy points per game and a half PPR scoring format and even late last season we saw Joe Mixon and Chase Brown split touches Joe Mixon obviously getting himself about 18 touches per game while Chase Brown was getting himself about nine touches per game on average that could be the split we end up seeing with a combination of of course Tony Pard and Tai J Spears and from what we saw from the preseason week three game against the New Orleans Saints on the first drive of the game Tony per played every single snap he was the starting running back of the team and not until the second series did Tai Spears come in and even after the first team offense left the field and they replac a quarterback they replaced Tony Pard Tai spear still played with the second team Tony Pard is the number one running back of this offense they wouldn't have signed him for a threeyear 24 million dollar deal if that wasn't going to be the case I mean shoot even if you go back to 2022 when he played with the Dallas Cowboys and was splitting touches with Zeke in games in which he played with a healthy Zeke and he had himself 14 or more touches was averaging 17 fantasy points per game again a lot of touchdowns in those scenarios but we know he's a capable back and that is why I truly do believe based on his current ADP he could be a League winner in 2024 let's move on to another team that Diontae Johnson many of us may think aren't going to be the greatest but yet Deontay Johnson again another one of these players that I really do like that's three for three where we're talking about Calvin really Tony Pard and Deontay Johnson Cooper cup these are my guys they've been my guys for multiple years and they're going to continue to be Deontay Johnson sure he didn't play great last year but he was also injured for a lot of the season and the last time that we saw him find Ultimate greatness was back in 2021 where he finished as the number nine overall wide receiver that year mainly because he actually had a competent quarterback in the position now as we approach the 2024 season when we talked about you know Cooper cup javante Williams Tony Paul over the course of the last couple moments I talked about how do we determine League winners What did we witness over the course of the last couple years that we can learn from and can utilize in the future to find Ultimate success for fantasy and one of the things that we needed to learn a lesson quite honestly twice in a row was that Dave Canales knows how to run an offense he knows how to elevate quarterbacks and he knows how to make relevant fantasy wide receivers over the course of the last few years we have seen Dave canal with the 2022 Seattle Seahawks Elevate Gino Smith DK mcaf and Tyle Lockett despite the fact that nobody expected you know Gino Smith to be better than what Russell Wilson was producing then Dave Canalis goes and becomes the OC of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers elevates Baker Mayfield Chris Godwin and of course Mike Evans to incredible numbers even though they lost Tom Brady the fact that Dave Canales has been able to accomplish that over the course of the last last two years it is a given fact that he is going to elevate Bryce young and he is going to allow Deontay Johnson to be the number one receiving option of this offense and with that overall connection Deontay Johnson should easily find himself a high volume of fantasy success primarily because if we look at the 2023 Tampa Bay Buccaneers they were number five amongst all teams in terms of wide receiver targets additionally Mike Evans last season as the number one of the offense 8.44 targets per game 14.92% the year in which of course Dave Canalis was with the Seahawks 8.94 targets per game and 12.39 fantasy points per game Dave Canales knows how to get his quarterback on track and getting the ball to whether it is a number one or number two wide receiver because over the course of the last two years in those given years Evans Godwin mattf and Lockett all ranked as top 30 wide receivers yet Deontay Johnson I think he ADP is like wide receiver 37 to 39 dude he is going to absolutely blow that out of the water and potentially have League winning upside if he could stay healthy for the full year because last season when he was healthy within that offense despite his quarterback play from week 7 through 19 whether it was Picket Rudolph or trabitz averaging 10.28 fantasy points per game with only six targets per game on average in games over the course of the last four seasons 2020 to 2023 in which Deontay Johnson has been given eight or more targets 12.94 fantasy points per game and honestly there were a lot of spectrums of time throughout those years especially recently as of late where a lot of his performances didn't leave the touchdowns because this offense could not score touchdowns within the Pittsburgh Steelers organization so going into this year we've already heard Dave Canal even say within an interview that my offense has typically revolve around funnel targeting one player and that's going to be Deontay Johnson this year pretty much figuring out where is deante how could we get him the ball these are statements that if they were made about any other player would be making a lot of noise but it is Deontay Johnson a lot of people have been burnt by DeAndre Johnson in the past yet I continue to believe in his talent his potential in going into this upcoming season as the number one wide receiver of a Dave Canales offense should absolutely find success now the final player I wanted to mention our lucky number eight is an honorable mention which is Jonathan Jonathan Brooks Brooks of the same team yes the Carolina Panthers again a lot of people don't think that the Carolina Panthers are going to do anything this year but I do want to mention a couple things regarding Jonathan Brooks and why I think he will potentially have value this year and why he could end up being a League winner based on your overall investment since 2014 the last decade of football there have been 23 running backs that have been selected with in the second round of the NFL draft of the 19 running backs they stayed healthy I did end up excluding players who had season ending injuries Bree Hall Ronald Jones Dalvin cook Darius G those four options off the list but of the 19 active running backs in their rookie season two of them finished as top 12 running backs within their rookie year six of them were rb2s and three of them were RB 3s so overall we have 11 of the 19 players ranked within the top 36 which is a 58% success rate which again isn't the greatest greatest overall number but there is an opportunity here in which Jonathan Brooks could be the lead back of this team in very short time and of course take over and be a successful fantasy running back now the reason why I believe he's going to find success is because what we saw last season from chuba hubard and of course the Carolina Panthers despite the fact that this offense and this team was dysfunctional whether it was from coaching staff to overall execution from week 6 through 18 Cuba hubard was the number 18 overall running back in terms of overall points scored and number 24 in terms of fantasy points per game scored averaging 11.32 fantasy points per game all while someone like miles Sanders was still getting himself on average about seven touches per game chuba hubber presented himself as a capable three down back and even though that was the case this offense has significantly improved with the presence of Dave Canales you bring in two new starting offensive lineman you bring in weapons like Xavier Legette Deontay Johnson you give confidence to Bryce young with the overall offensive coordinator change and the potential that they're going to continue to elevate his game considering the talent level he has again a former Heisman Trophy winner again even though he had a rough first year going into year 2 should be seamless in terms of the Improvement that he is going to make because we s saw this just a couple years back with Trevor Lawrence going from year one to year two you know their rookie years the head coaches the overall offens is it wasn't built for success but in year two it's far more equipped Now Dave Canales he has supported yes top 30 wide receivers two of them in fact in each of the last two years with the offenses that he is associated with but he's also supported top 16 running back backs Kenneth Walker was the number 16 overall running back by the end of the 2022 season despite the fact that Kenneth Walker missed the first four games of the year being the backup to Rashad Penny but still finishes number 16 last season Rashad white number seven once in fact Jonathan Brooks returns from the pup list the physically unable to perform list which could end up forcing him to miss the first four weeks of the season but once he returns Jonathan Brooks could take over this backfield and could take over the league all
