morning uh let's see why don't we throw it to Eli and let's chat with Eli a little bit little weird on do we have Eli on the zoom all right there he is well Eli big weekend for you yeah we had an interesting weekend good morning guys great to be on your show how are you doing great to have you here I love the fact we get to kick off the day with you because Eli Man it was a big weekend my phone blew up you're the man at the center of all of it so if you missed it a group of Colorado Republicans voted Saturday to remove Dave Williams as chair of the state party at a meeting denounced by William and his allies as fraudulent fraudulent and illegal Republicans cheered when results were announced at a church in Brighton where Williams opponents gathered in defiance of State GOP warnings that the proceedings lacked Authority and would be ignored but who did they play replace him with well after their series of votes Central Committee members elected former El Paso County GOP chairman Eli Bremer to chair the party and voted in former route County Treasurer Britt horn as Vice chair so Eli give us a sense of what happened over the weekend yeah well I I think this is the culminating uh event of of a long time problem simmering in the party and and at a very foundational level it's that the the reason that the party exists is to support the candidates who are out there in the general election um this has been brewing in the primaries that the former leadership had gotten involved in a lot of primaries that was very controversial uh their candidates largely lost so we saw there was a huge disconnect between them and the 900,000 Republicans who are uh in the state of Colorado um this has gone through Court proceedings already it's just gone all over the place it culminated with a meeting on Saturday where the um where the uh the state party leadership the uh you know the the Central Committee of the state decided to place me in as sort of an interim chair until we have a a new Full election next March so you know I'm hitting the ground running guys I've I've already had conversations with our candidates who're trying to get operations set up we're way behind the power curve right now uh you know we should be the stuff we're doing right now frankly should have been done six to nine months ago but we're hitting the ground running and we're going to make a big impact this election to that point this was some information that was shocking to me Eli you tweeted this out yesterday you finished the GOP finished its first strategy meeting with Paul lundine first strategy meeting with Paul lundine and then some of these other folks had never even been called Gabe Evans until uh today you mentioned the carado GOP hadn't even called Gabe Evans what yes that's correct uh I had a so yesterday I was working all well I went to church took my took my wife and son to church in the morning um we came back and hit the ground running and had a great call with uh state senator Paul lundine who's in charge he's the Senate minority leader um he's in charge of of winning all the Senate seats that we can and and that's a that's really important in this cycle we have to we have to hold uh hold three seats that are pretty difficult pick up one or two if we lose one of those seats we're going to move back to a point where Republicans lose seats on committees and what that will enable the Democrats to do is basically send things to the ballot without Republicans being able to stop it so if we lose a net one seat then we're going to have that problem I can't share with you exactly which seats uh Senator lendine said uh we need to be focused on but he and I went through District by District candidate by candidate um that was the very first time he had heard from anybody at the Colorado Republican party about coordinating or anything um I made a firm commitment to him there was a blowup last week in cleave Simpsons District cleeves running for Senate 6 um and down the sort of the South and West part of the State uh where the state party had sent out a communication that inadvertently helped his opponent and I said I said Senator lundine you have my word the state party will no longer do anything like that if we send out a communication inside a district we're going to coordinate with the campaign um so no one had talked to Senator lundine before had a great call with Gabe Evans Gabe said that was the first time any a sitting party officer of any type had called him since he was running the same was true with Jeff herd so we're starting to rebuild these relationships we're not wasting any time uh within the next day here to I expect to have a call with the national Republican Congressional committee uh they're very excited to have a new leadership team uh we're going to be working on standing up operations here and trying to get these Congressional races back on track talking with Eli Bremer he was uh selected to essentially replaced Dave Williams as the chairman of the Colorado Republican party but Dave doesn't believe he's been replaced uh he thinks that the real meeting is next week so Eli give give us a sense of the uh the the tension still right I mean do you have the keys to the office at this point for the Colorado Republican party uh I I don't I don't expect that that'll happen for probably another couple weeks um you know there's this will take about probably I'm guessing two to three weeks to finalize sort of the eviction process for lack of better term uh but with that said we're opening up another office today uh that will function it'll answer the phones uh it will it will start immediately moving because guys we have we have about nine to 10 weeks left of this campaign um and so we're going to hit the ground running so uh Dave I I'm sure we continue to resist um what's going on the fact of the matter is the reason this happened is for what I just said we should have the the Colorado Republican party should have already been coordinating uh all these efforts they should have been working with the campaign so we're going to you know we're going to continue working through the courts and probably through the RNC um the meeting that weekend was scheduled to be held over Labor Day weekend specifically to keep people from showing up it was a parliamentary uh trick and at the end of the day the former officers they have just continued to use gimmicks and parliamentary tricks but guys what really matters is the state party should have been supporting our candidates not hurting them and we've turned the corner on that and we we're we are already starting it is Monday morning and we've already had a whole bunch of meetings to help our candidates will you have to make an argument again at this upcoming meeting or they still hosting this meeting on August 31st and then will you have to show up and make the case and try to win again well well we uh on Saturday we we had well beyond a quorum despite the fact that the former officers said it was illegal they' taken us to court uh in fact they lied to a court they went to a judge who got a temporary restraining order under false pretenses um in fact their attorney is uh I'm hearing going to be facing ethical uh charges over that over lying to the court um the judge when he had realized that they lied to the court immediately reversed the decision it was too late to hold the meeting at that point it was the meeting had already the meeting that was supposed to happen it already happened so uh we held a meeting that was obviously clearly legally valid um we had three attorneys sitting in the front of the room you had the special advisor to the meeting was Chrissy Burton Brown uh then you had the attorney for the meeting was Chris Murray who is uh one of the top Republican attorneys in the country arguably the top Republican an attorney in the state and then the parliamentarian was Wayne Williams who's an attorney and the former secretary of state so uh we had multiple attorneys working on this um the former party officers haven't had any attorneys who have weighed in and said what they're doing is is valid uh but we canceled the meeting on the 31st people are more than welcome to show up have a rally talk about issues uh that's a First Amendment uh issue but the party will not be conducting any meeting next Saturday uh so I would suggest people go spend time with their amilies or walk racings for candidates Eli Bremer joining Jeff and Bill live he just was named the new Colorado party chair According to some not all over the weekend congratulations sir I want to go back to a little bit of the idea about the Quorum because it seems like the way that Dave Williams and the other people behind him are pushing back is that it wasn't a vote of all the ruling Council of the Colorado Republican Party All 400 plus so talk to us about how you all were able to get just the right number there and why does it qualify as a quorum why is the argument that Dave Williams and his supporters are making incorrect well first of all what they're doing is they're saying things that are just flatly not true they said there were only 75 uh people there uh there were obviously a whole lot more than that but in the uh according to our bylaws proxies are are exactly the same as people so you had a whole bunch of proxies there we had about 182 183 qualified votes which is a fairly High um High attendance rate for a non-traditional meeting meaning meaning it's not one of the the two scheduled per year usually they hold about two a year um so they they put out some lies immediately and said there were only 75 people there they didn't reach a quorum uh again they have 100% lied about this the other thing that they've been lying about is saying that there is a u a legal requirement that you have three fifths of the um of the entire membership vote in the affirmative it's a very interesting position for them to take because just a year ago when they were trying to cancel the primary um and to deny 900,000 Republicans the right to vote in the primary um they argued very specifically that the state law provision and this came from state law that 75% of the entire membership of the committee was required to take a vote was improper because nowhere else in the bylaws was it found that you could require the entire membership to vote um we have had some of the top attorneys in the country parliamentarians in the country review our bylaws um there there is a point of ambiguity where up until this point it was very much assumed that it was a a three- fifths vote of a quorum uh could remove a chair uh when just because of the opt out vote it it opened up the possibility that that three fifths could be the entire committee that was not a particularly logical reading with that said what we did is we sent it up for legal review um the attorney said okay when there's ambiguity the uh the party rules state that it goes to Robert's Rules of Order which state that the body itself is able to clarify what that ambiguity means so we had district attorney an Kelly um give us a legal review of that and uh the body within its rights decided to determine the much more traditional view that it was three- fifths of a quorum that shows up at the purpose of the meeting of of removing the officers and uh and that is legally going to be binding talking with Eli Bremer now Eli I got some uh communication from Dave Williams I'd love to get your thoughts on this so yeah he references a an opinion by a guy named Al Gage who I guess is the official parliamentarian of the RNC and he says that while you may have supported the nrcc right now you don't have supported the RNC any response to that well I'll let Dave uh try to try to maneuver his way into that and and I also like to point out uh I've never met Mr Gage obviously Dave Williams has he's he's paid him a fair amount of money from what I understand um and and that's between them how that how that transaction happened um parliamentarians I I had to read up on this because I'm a businessman I work predominantly in business I've done some political stuff uh but we don't use parliamentarians in most work so I had to read up on what the certifications were you have to finish high school or or get a GED uh and then you you pass some certifications it's probably like becoming a realtor and actually Al Gage is in fact a professional realtor who does some work for the RNC uh he is not the official parliamentarian of the RNC that's that's another misstatement he he works with the RNC um so does Terry Campo who's an attorney who's a parliamentarian who gave a much more authoritative review and said uh actually that Dave had acted improperly uh that when Al Gage gave his with his review uh he was quite clearly an error he made some very basic mistakes so I don't know if that was written for him and he signed it it's it's unclear to me um but uh the RNC has has not given a final adjudication they won't they may not they may let this play out in the courts here um but to point out we do have the support of the nrcc that's very important they're uh they're part of the RNC organization and so um and we are working with them already like I said I expect a meeting with them in the next day or so um and and I think Jee that brings us back to the point of why wasn't the party working with these folks before why are the former leadership sitting here talking about parliamentary tricks when we're 10 weeks from the election they should have been focused on raising money and supporting our candidates and and their entire Focus has been on keeping their job I'm going to finish out all of the technical stuff to make sure the eviction is done correctly we didn't even wait five hours to start doing the job that the state party should have been doing nine months ago and I want to get to kind of how you're going to build the Coalition in a second um I want to address again what what Dave sent me just so that we have this uh understanding here he wrote what Watkins and Eli have done has only broken the party Beyond repair and has certainly opened the door to Perpetual open conflict within the party chairman moving forward will have to deal with dubious removal attempts from Minority fractions on an ongoing basis from here on out as a result to even suggest that less than half of the total membership can meet and and remove duly elected officials below the Three-Fifths requirement and then even less than a quarter of total membership elect a new chair is beyond absurd no party Unity will be found in that scenario they have opened Pandora's Box while Democrats March forward what's your response are you are you familiar with what's going on with Israel and Palestine right now to the best of my abs palestin invaded Israel this reminds me an awful lot about Palestine like saying we came in and we you know we murdered thousands of people we we raped your women we killed your babies but we need a peace treaty right now um this is patently absurd this we started by saying yesterday was the first time a sitting chairman had contacted Paul Lunde it was the first time a sitting chairman had contacted Gabe Evans it was the first time a sitting chairman had contacted Jeff herd that is ridiculous to say that a group of Republicans who cleans out the house who says we're going to run a clean Financial ship and do something shocking and support our candidates is in some way shape or form creating disunity we had a group of officers hope sheelan the former Vice chair was posting Adam frish ads on her Facebook page hope is going to be facing criminal charges as well out in llata County she just filed the false police report we found out about it they're investigating her already it's going to probably start this morning um you know this is what they've been doing so when you have a group of officers uh last week they sent um they sent emails out in the CLE Simpsons District Senate District 6 is one of our targeted tenant seats that absolutely destroyed his campaign I was talking to Jeff herd last week and he told me that their actions that cost them $20,000 in one week because they had donors walking away okay so I'm sorry Jeff but when you have a former chairman now who's crying about Unity it sounds about like when Hamas says oh my gosh don't remember what we've done the P to to Israel yeah we invaded them and we're holding hostages but we need a ceasefire before anything else happens the way Israel is going to have peace is by taking out the corrupt leadership of theas and the way the Colorado Republican party is now getting to Unity is the fact that we've removed officers who have engaged in criminal conduct and that's going to be a completely separate issue that's not on our side law enforcement's dealing with that um but we are getting right back to the issue of supporting our candidates so if people want Unity let's get behind our candidates from Donald Trump down the ballot by the way Jeff my very first thing I did the very first thing I did as chairman is I endorsed every single Republican in the state of Colorado because that had not been done either we had the party have been attacking our own candidates and refused to endorse them and I categorically and by name endorsed every uh well by name and a bunch of the districts but categorically and everything else endorsed all the candidates that's how you get Unity Eli bremmer selected as the new chairman of the Colorado Republican party over the weekend um Eli you spoke with Lauren bobbert has she uh recognized you as the chair chairman of the Colorado Republican party I'll let Lauren speak uh you know we had a we actually had a really good conversation Lauren and I have have had many conversations I've hosted her uh for Mee and greets and stuff at my house we have a we enjoy a great relationship uh stop by and here when I'm in DC uh she did call and congratulate me on on Saturday night we talked for quite a bit actually probably 20 or 30 minutes about the state of politics in Colorado um and and obviously she's in a different position politically uh we talked about that that her her district is a safe District uh CD4 and so is Jeff cranks uh so that the needs that she'll have I offered her all of the support of the party for anything she needs uh obviously her election will look a little bit different so we have an outstanding relationship I've always had a very good relationship and uh you know I I pointed out to her that we had endorsed her and she would have my full support that's great so what's your message then to supporters of Dave Williams out there we're gonna have a few on a little bit later today Brandy Bradley Hugo Chavez Ray uh to maybe others that are Grassroots supporters that liked uh his conservative commitments um and his willingness to take on the left you're the new chairman of the the Colorado GOP what's your message to them to win them over and bring Unity to the party well we have a great chance to have Unity because the the purpose of the Colorado Republican party is not to hurt our campaigns and campaign against our candidates it's to support them and so there is nothing conservative nothing at all conservative about handing positions over to Democrats and that is what the Colorado Republican party had been doing I would invite all of them to join us in actually fighting for the conservative cause we need to hold all the seats we currently have in the state senate and ideally pick up one that's going to be a night fight that's the conversation I had with Senator lundine yesterday we need to win the Third District that one looks pretty good right now that's an R plus s District we got a good solid candidate uh that being said I promis Jeff her we're going to keep the party from getting in his way so if if former chairman Dave Williams has supporters that want to join the cause and fight for consern conservatism by winning at The Ballot Box we welcome them on board frankly though if their way of of support thinking they're supporting conservatism is hurting our candidates and helping get Democrats elected that is not support we need uh I would encourage them to change course we need to get our candidates selected whether it's Lauren bobbert or CLE Simpson or Jeff herd or Donald Trump we need to work for every single one of them and that had not happened so I welcome them in to do what the party should have been doing to join shoulder-to-shoulder with us as Republicans and as conservatives this has nothing to do with ideology at all nothing the purpose and it's in the blw the purpose of the party is to get our candidates elected ironically if you want to advance conservatism get more Republicans elected if you want to advance liberalism hurt Republicans chance of getting elected and you'll see the hegemony of the Democrat Party expand and that is not in the least B conservative well and to your point on your commitment to conservative values briefly share with people what you've been doing to protect women's sports well so it's funny that the chair of the Democrat Party immediately came out and attacked me he a transp but and I said I and by the way I am very opposed to the chair being the story um I the candidate should be the story but you know what when the when the state party chair of the Democrats comes out and attacks me I said tell you what buddy you name the time you name the place and where anytime I will show up at debate why you believe that men belong in women's sports and women's locker rooms and let's have a conversation about that as it relates to Title Nine because there is not a Democrat elected official in the country right now that supports women's rights under Title Nine so I will call out the BS on the Democrat Party that they say that they support women when they can't Define what a woman is number one and number two they don't believe that women should have their own sports category and this is super important okay we when we talk talk about equality women's rights in the workplace and equal pay and stuff like that there was an ernston young report about four or five years ago that said 94% of female Executives had competed in organized Sports growing up 94% of women Executives 50% of them had done it in college my wife is one of those she was a competitive swimmer she's now the chair of the County Commission in El Paso County runs a you know 44500 million budget if you support equal rights for women you need to be able to support number one that you know what a woman is and number two that they should have their rights to sports categories and their own Scholarships in college that is the Republican stance I've pulled this it's 100 it's a 99.5% republican position unaffiliated agree with us almost completely the only kind of folks that you're going to find that don't believe that women should have their own sports category are the same people that are running around in the Democrat Party saying we support Palestine and and you see the most ridiculous things like gay transgender people for pal side and you're like hey y'all know what happens over in the Middle East with people that share your views I mean you know we in America will tolerate lots of different views but they don't really do that over there so um anyway I I I sort of shove the state party chair back the Democrat State party chair back in a hole um and interestingly enough he kind of conceded that one so uh I am a national leader on fighting for women's rights and sports I've helped all around the country I've been a national voice on that and I will that's probably the only issue I will be openly vocal about because as an oan I'm kind of an authority on it Eli Bremer selected over the weekend to become the chairman of the Colorado Republican party it sounds like and I'm not an expert in all this we've got two chairs right now I think they're gonna have to work this all out but Eli um you're willing to join us top of the show this is going to shape the entire rest of the show we've got Barb Kirk Meer coming up we've got Hugo Chavez Ray coming up we have valdemar archeleta coming up we've got Brandy Bradley as well it's a jam-packed show but it's all centered around essentially what happened this weekend and the future of the Republican party you came on the show you answered the tough questions Eli really appreciate you being on the Jeff and Bill show this morning thank you all right thanks guys and and I I ask you and everybody else let's get back to the business supporting your candidates if people call in and they have a problem with what happened this weekend ask them the question what was happening and why is what we're doing right now bad is there something wrong with supporting Jeff herd Gabe Evans Paul line Rose P because that's what this is about it's not about me it's not about former chairman Dave Williams it's about getting Republicans elected and stopping the Democratic Onslaught in Colorado and the United States uh Eli I think you're exactly right look this is bottom line it's about getting more Republicans in and fewer rep and fewer Democrats and and you know that's always a good combination I like that match you know it's it's one of those things where you know it the the the chairman of the Colorado GOP is essentially the head coach and like a head coach you judge them on wins and losses you know all the other stuff that comes with it the personality the drama bottom line November we either have more Republicans in or we have uh fewer Democrats hopefully and and that's what you should judge the chairman by and it sounds like you guys are hitting the ground running getting out there building the infrastructure to make it happen and we'll ask a lot of the same tough questions to uh Dave Williams team as well so Eli thanks again for being on the Jeff and Bill show best of luck to you happy to come on any time have a great morning guys great thank you again Eli Bremer selected it sounds like right now I we've got two chairman yeah yeah that's exactly what we have but only one newsman yes well um let me know what you think we're gonna have Hugo Chavez Ry in a second to respond Dave Williams uh offered to come on but uh he's got some big personal news coming up I think he's adding to his family here recently so um that's that's obviously more important yeah that's going on in politics so uh let's check in on the news with Blake Olsson good morning Blake hey good morning Jeff and Billy great uh great job right at the top of the hour breaking news 62 and cloudy expecting a high of 88 today the 710 5day forecast coming up our top story thankfully a Good Samaritan in Aurora found a young boy who was missing and he's reunited with his parents this morning according to the Aurora Police Department he was found in the 12,000 block of East Archer Place Dave Williams has been removed from his position as chairman of the Colorado Republican party at least as far as some people are concerned following a vote by party officials he been the focus of controversy and criticism ever since he sent out the email earlier this year saying that God hates Flags that's with an l and calling on people to burn their pride Flags this June Williams has continued to stand by his comments and claims the meeting that led to him being removed was improper and will not recognize the results never let anyone take your joy from you I call myself a joyful Warrior right never let anyone take your joy from you there she is potentially the most dangerous joyful person in the world Republicans not only up against kamicon but once again up against the media John Carl of ABC is a Flatout leftist Marxist evidently he works for the Harris campaign Senator Tom Cotton on with his Bozo over the weekend and president Trump is going to draw a sharp contrast with KLA Harris who has supported things like decriminalizing illegal immigration or giving taxpayer funded health insurance to illegal aliens or taking away health insurance on the job for 170 million Americans Banning gas cars confiscating Firearms these are all what do you mean taking away health insurance what are you talking about she said when she ran for president that she wants to eliminate Private health insurance on the job 70 million Americans John yeah I mean I mean that is not her position now she know how do you know that's not her how do you know that's not her position I mean she she said she no long supports she has not said that she has not said that maybe anonymous AIDS on a Friday night have said that but the re but the last thing that she said on was not a radical uh convention I mean she she she as you heard me go through with Bernie Sanders uh she is not taking the positions of the far left of her he is a clown JD Vance says he believes that Donald Trump would veto a federal abortion ban if elected president in an interview with NBC's Meet the Press Vance said Trump has been very clear that he wants to leave the abortion question up to show just wrapped up in an interview with Eli Bremer selected over the weekend to be the new Colorado Republican chairman by at least a certain number of Republicans but but Dave Williams is not ready to go no so the battle continues let's go to the phone lines Hugo Chavez Ray with the Hispanic Patriot podcast Hugo why is Eli wrong why should Dave Williams remain chairman of the Colorado Republican party good morning guys what a morning huh starting it off high thanks for joining us yeah well thanks for having me I so here's my uh I I watched and and listened to uh Eli and uh I got everything down so this is this is my rebuttal to Eli Brer and his very gang of attempted uh crew perpetrators shall we say last Saturday uh the meeting first of all the meeting on Saturday was illegitimate uh regardless of what Eli or Todd or anyone else says this was determined by two professional and certified parliamentarians one from the state GOP and one from the r industry and furthermore any business that was conducted at that meeting doesn't carry any weight of authority period so myself as a duly elected member of the State Central Committee I do not recognize any of those elected officials yeah hard quotes on that from that sham meeting where 77 disgruntled individual showed up to perpetrate their fraud and uh they were carrying 104 shall we say questionable proxies from various parts of the state that's still to be determined as the the validity of validity of some of those so in one of the comments that I read after the meeting over the weekend on social media this poster claimed that they had been in contact with the nrcc and that was something that Eli touched on this morning and that they recogniz the newly elected Board of the Colorado GOP and when I read that I almost spit out my coffee because For the record the nrcc and the nrsc are both packs political action committees neither has any authority over any state party activities nor do they have any affiliation with the RNC so this is the kind of ignorance that we're dealing with here it is only the RNC the Republican National Committee that has authority over party business nothing that comes from Todd Watkins Nancy Pelosi Eli Brer BR horn or Kevin McCarney just to name a few of the cool leaders means anything they can B at the Moon we have not heard from the RNC yet now uh Hugo I want to ask you this question I've got to take a brief commercial break here but um I want to ask you this question when we come back what what are you going to do give me your response to the fact that some of these campaigns Gabe Evans Jeff herd and others had not even heard yet from the Colorado Republican party Paul line meeting with the Colorado Republican party for the first time to plan out a strategy and it's already late August I'll get your response you're listening to the Jeff and bills show News Talk 710 KNN us [Music] [Music] o [Music] y w [Music] oh [Music] o [Music] he o [Music] [Music] all right welcome back to the Jeff and Bill all Hugo re with the Hispanic Patriot podcast what do you say to Eli Bremers claims that the state party had not outreached to Gabe Evans Jeff herd had not with Paul lundine to build a strategy to win state senate seats what do you say well to my knowledge uh that is an absolute lie so I can't speak for the party because I'm not here to speak on behalf of the party what I am here to do is speak on behalf of a coalition that I'm a part of that is fighting this uh attempted cou from uh from Eli and his group um so on that issue I I will simply just say I believe that's a lie so we can we can leave it at that and and some other FK folks can comment and weigh in on that but to get back to the issue of the Saturday meeting basically what they've done is they twisted uh themselves into a Pressel trying to make his thing legitimate for example on the issue uh of the bylaws and what constitutes a legal Vote or Forum or whatever here's what uh what is really the the fact okay they they basically I was at the meeting by the way um the uh the body so to speak they before they started their vote they needed to lay the groundwork by interpreting section D1 of article five of the Colorado GOP bylaws and they did that to fit their false narrative before taking their vote so in that Clause it states as follows any elected officer of the CRC may be removed from office at any time for whatever cause the CRC May deem sufficient by a vote of three-fifths of the entire membership of the CRC eligible to vote at a meeting called for that purpose so the question is about the proper application of this bylaw as outlined by the chairman of H bylaws committee Mr John Field building whom you may know uh attorney from Parker and he States as follows the question has arisen about the proper application of this bylaw the specific issue concerns the effect of the language at a meeting called for that purpose that that line right there is critical for some secd members appear to interpret this language as being part of the qualifications of the people who can vote on removal and three fifths of such people can carry out the removal alternatively the the language could merely describe the occasion at which a valid removal vote may occur you go understand that I'm sorry to interrupt but the the issue being I mean we're arguing minutia at this point and what I'm kind of looking at and the question I've got for you I understand there are different interpretations about a single byw and we're talking about whether or not this is legal but I want to know about Eli's point about the primary Eli made a point when he was talking with us that the party for the first time ever in Ed a slate of candidates during the primary those candidates overwhelmingly lost does Eli have a point that this shows party leadership is out of touch with what the voters want is he correct about that no no and I will point out that uh we basically had about a 15% turnout in the primary from registered Republicans so the the fact that you know whatever number lost out of the primary is is somehow the party's fault I I find uh ludicrous because nobody's talking about the low voter turnout H hang on but Hugo isn't it the party's job to get people elected right now what I'm hearing is well a lot of other people came in and voted and obviously we can't win that's what's going to happen in the fall the idea of saying well you know if only we had Republicans then we could win I bet if we only had Republicans voting this fall in Colorado all the Republicans will get elected skipping over no no no I'm not skipping over it no what what you're doing is you're sitting there saying well some Republicans voted for him I'm telling you that the Slate that was endorsed by the party failed isn't that an issue shouldn't that cause you pause about what's our strategy going ahead in the fall if the list that we picked did so badly are you picking losers that's what I'm trying to ask you I don't uh I don't ascribe that entirely to the state party uh there's a very there's a variety of reasons for that result so to to basically come out and make a blanket statement that because only x amount of uh candidates that the party supported won their primaries that it's somehow entirely their fault so uh that's that's my take on that I don't believe that it is uh do they have some responsibility sure but they don't have Hugo we're up against uh the the end of the hour here last quick question if if this all turns out and Eli Bremer is the new chairman of the Colorado Republican party are you willing to work for the Colorado Republican party to help get Republicans elected can you cross that bridge and build unity and get behind Eli well we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it but here's the the bottom line the meeting this Saturday is the official meeting all s sessional committee members have been called called upon to attend that meeting and it is a legitimate meeting that where all party business will be uh handled at that point and also all the officers have already stated clearly that they will abide by any results of Saturday's meeting so that's where we are Hugo Chavez Ray with the Hispanic Patriot podcast thanks so much for being on the Jeff and Bill show we'll continue with Barb Kirk me in the next hour the heated conversation on the future of the Republic party continues you're listening to the Jeff and Bill show new talk 710 can us [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] active in what happened over the weekend in repl replacing and I put replacing in quotes because I don't know what's happening right now yeah we have a meeting that's been called on Saturday that is supposed to be the real meeting but then the people that just got selected canceled the meeting and so um we have two chairman that are battling it out I think it's gonna have to go to the courts Dave Williams still has the keys to the office Eli bremmer believes he is entitled to the keys to the office so this is crazy and it's all coming down to interpretation of a bylaw that's exactly that is what it's coming down to as far as guess who's having the conversation 710k in us so you gonna want to stick with us through the entirety of the show because in the 8 o'clock hour Brandy Bradley who is supportive of Dave Williams is going to join us and then valmar Cheta in the nine o'clock hour is against Dave Williams he's gonna join us so the conversation continues you're gonna get both sides you're going to be well informed on 710k us today so uh got a great hour coming up for you let's check in on the news with Blake Olson good morning Blake hey good morning Jeff and Billy those dog gone bylaws 63 and cloudy expecting a high of 88 today the 7105 day forecast is coming up our top story that is ridiculous to say that a group of Republicans who cleans out the house who says we're going to run a clean Financial ship and do something shocking and support our candidates is in some way shape or form creating disunity Eli bremmer the new chair chman of the Republican Party reportedly on with Jeff and Bill last hour Dave Williams has been removed from his position as chairman of the Colorado Republican party following a vote by party officials he's been the focus of controversy and criticism ever since he sent out an email earlier this year that called on people to burn their pride Flags this June Williams has continued to stand by his comments and claims the meeting that led to him being removed was improper and will not be recognized bremmer is moving forward had a great call with Gabe Evans Gabe said that was the first time any a sitting party officer of any type had called him since he was running the same was true with Jeff herd so we're starting to rebuild these relationships we're not wasting any time uh within the next day or two I expect to have a call with the national Republican Congressional committee uh they're very excited to have a new leadership team uh we're going to be working on standing up operations here and trying to get these Congressional races back on track from local to National the White House says President Biden is closely monitoring developments after Israel and Hezbollah traded military strikes Hezbollah struck first a National Security Council spokesman said the US continues to support Israel's right to defend itself the Pentagon ordered two US Navy carriers your strike groups to remain on standby in the Middle East Caitlyn Collins of CNN she's from CNN an anchor and she's out of her mind so is James Carville they were on uh Bill Maher over the weekend and Collins carrying the water for kamicon says former president Trump doesn't want to debat her I think we can get there I think the debate on September 10th is going to be so consequential and it's going to have audience that we can't believe because what does America love a train wreck and they had one7 another train R I agree on that do you guys have that debate it's ABC debate ABC debate if it happens I still think it's an open question really Trump's G Go's got to you think that Trump is gonna pull out I think Trump is nervous about it I think Trump I talked to a lot of sources in his world I think he has really struggled with it it's not just a a narrative or or a talking point from Dem he really has struggled with with how to to combat her and I think going into that debate he he does not really want to do it I think it's difficult if not impossible for him to pull out because his campaign manager had cards printed that said anywhere any time any place for for President Biden and it would look weak but I don't think he's looking forward to it at this point maybe part of it if he does it's because of you and the media one-sided he's fighting the media and of course Harris probably more of the media JD Vance says he believes Donald Trump would veto a federal abortion ban if elected president in an interview with NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday Vance said Trump has been very clear that he wants to leave the abortion question up to the States but they just go back and forth they just cannot stop talking about it and off duty Arvada firefighter is dead following a crash on Sunday Kyle Trombley a 13-year veteran of are gonna be down with the whole K us team down to the Doug's Diner the one in Parker yeah be awesome 18595 East Main Street Parker we're doing a live broadcast from 6: to 10: come on down hang out with us get a picture taken but most importantly enjoy some delicious food I'm going through their menu right now oh it's fantastic and we're going to be located between Parker Road and 20 mile north side of the road easy to find swing on by we're going to be there Bri and early along with uh the manager Lindsay Marsh who's joining us live on the phone right now good morning Lindsay how are you good morning and happy Monday how are you guys we'd be much better if we were at Doug Diner looking at your menu going tomorrow's gonna be awesome yeah it's it's a problem of just choosing one thing so uh for breakfast if you're kickstarting at Lindsay what do you like on the breakfast menu what's kind of the thing that you think is the best way to start the day well because it's a Monday I think I'm going to go sweet we have a sweet stuff section where we have huge pancakes we have Crepes um hot cakes the Belgian waffle um and then something that's really cool is one of our regulars named Chuck he said I want more blueberries I want more chocolate chips so we actually added something on there called Chuck it up where you get Triple the amount of blueberries and chocolate chips and you always brings a smile to our face when he yells Chuck it up for me please I was I was wondering where that came from because I saw that on the menu but it's it's a brilliant idea and definitely approved by all of the younger people in my family they definitely want as many chocolate chips as possible in all those pancakes and Belgian waffles that's a great way to start out with u so talk to us also there steak and eggs you've got the biscuit and gravy we've got wos Rancheros and um you know we're going to be out there tomorrow um is is it too early in the day for me to ask them to make the spicy Reuben I'm just asking cuz Mark keeps teasing me about that NOP I got fresh sourkraut ready to go for you oh yes yes yes you are my favorite Lindsay I'm definitely going to throw down that tomorrow this is going to be fantastic so talk to us about because this really is in many ways a family operation it's your father that owns the operation took over from the original Doug and lean into it leaned into the idea of natural ingredients locally sourced ingredients and that home style type of a menu the things that you would find if you had her grandmother that was a really good cook or a mom dad that was a really good cook things that kind of that stick to your ribs but most importantly also it's locally sourced so we know that when you're thrown down the money after you eat at Doug's Diner they're going to use it to pay the wonderful ranchers and farmers and everybody else that works here in Colorado to just spread the wealth um so talk to us about it being kind of that family run operation what was it like you know dad takes it over and all of a sudden now you get a shot and you start working at the family and the and uh you're now the manager at Doug's Diner and Parker talk to us about the family connection so it was really just great seeing my dad and his business partner Linda take this journey on they started with the two original stores from Doug in uh Fort Collins and Centennial we call it which is off of Parker Road and Orchard and really since 2014 they just built this wonderful franchise with several other stores in Parker and Thorton um up north is where they live so you'll see a lot in Loveland they're opening one in me Colorado on Tuesday and it's just been really great seeing them grow together and grow this business and now they're creating dreams for myself and others to ultimately be able to buy these locations now which has been wonderful so I you know have I own Parker um and then uh my sister's wanting to get thoran at some point I'm trying to get Centennial so it's just really great meeting the new owners of other locations as well as still having stores in the family and US essentially all being a family together to watch this grow oh that's amazing now what do you think the secret is with Dougs Diner because recently we've had some guests on the show here Jeff and Bill and we've also read some things in the paper about restaurants that are struggling uh restaurants closing and how many of them are out there you guys are looking up at opening a new location in me what's the secret that's making Doug's Diner succeed we worked together as a family and we also use our local vendors and our farmers markets and that just really helps us keep everybody together and on the same page and you know if someone needs staffing or training we we just float through all stores and help each other out so we have a good foundation and we just build up from there that's great to hear a lovely familyowned restaurant if you go to Doug diner.com you can see the food there it looks delicous ious now uh for those of us that um you know need to take the edge off of Tuesday it looks like you all have some uh bloody Maries there huh some champagne too oh okay well I am going to mess up your Monday morning Parker does not there are uh two locations that have a Liquor's license gy and then I believe well me will actually have it so yes if you ever up north some of those bigger stores they do have Bloody Mar Beres with a like a yummy candy bacon slice in it and then some champagne yeah the farmers up north get to have that D start their morning you and you also got some steak and eggs speaking of what Farmers like to eat we need to go back to that for our breakfast the healthy steak and eggs kids when you go to school that'll start your morning off right oh yeah the you know it's it's really great and I think people forget too that we have lunch items so for example our Colorado bison burger that gentleman we get bison from him in buyers Colorado so um you know our burgers are amazing as well and half the time my stepdad forgets oh darn I always order breakfast and I forget I can have lunch all day I'm like yep thatu over and take a look yeah so you get both of best of the Both Worlds there all day long so definitely flip the menu over and take a look at some of the burgers and sandwiches we have too wasn't even look at the lunch menu That's this is like a whole new world to me now okay Lind on the lunch menu we've talked about the breakfast menu a couple of times now lunch menu what's your go-to item what's the when when you've had a really difficult day when it's been stressful what's the one that really comforts you the Black Betty Burger describe that for us what is that what is that mean oh it's a little different so the Black Betty Burger it has peanut butter on it fresh diced green chili a sharp cheddar cheese and our blackberry jam and it's on a half a pound burger that we ultimately see season and we make our own burger patties wow okay so we've got the chilies you've got the jam and you've got the peanut butter that is okay you've really got my attention on that one because I get the peanut butter and jelly but you're also using the peanut butter to counteract the burn as far as the chili so it's not going to be overpowered those two together along with the S that's a really neat flavor profile you've got the nuttiness inside of the peanut butter then you're kicking it with the chilies and then you finish off with the sweetness of the jam that's clever that's clever might have to make it have you make it bur I'm I'm going to weigh 500 lb you're going to get me in so much trouble tomorrow oh what am I going to do that's fantastic now what other things on the menu have you guys spent a lot of time crafting that are really unusual that's made with a lot of love there at Doug's Diner our biscuits they just make you happy when you look at them they're just huge biscuits they're bigger than my hand they're very dense um I do challenge you to get through a whole one if you can half the time it is coming home with me either top or bottom and I bring some Jam home and I enjoy that later in the day or the next morning but our biscuits are definitely just a signature item for us oh excellent well Lindsay we are looking so much forward to meeting you tomorrow morning you'll be there with us at Doug's Diner in Parker 18595 East Main Street between Parker and 20 mile north side of the road we're getting there the whole crew's getting there bright and early just what time are we cracking the doors open to let uh everybody else in 6:00 hey right when we start 6:00 so you got to get there early in order to get a seat and I've heard it's a I have not been to that location and I've heard it's a wonderful wonderful place where very very open great seating not going to be blocked by any columns or anything else and they said it has a a wonderful family feel is is what the guys that came out there the other day and looked at it they said it's a really cool location so I'm really excited to meet you and see everybody there yeah it's going to be a great time I can't wait and we're just going to have a wonderful morning with all of our locals from you guys all right Lindsay Marsh manager at Doug's Diner and Parker where Billy and I will be tomorrow morning 6:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. the address 18595 so 18595 East Main Street in Parker Lindy thanks so much for giving us an update we'll look forward to seeing you tomorrow sounds good I hope you have a wonderful day thanks you too when we return Senator Barbara Kirk is going to join us she was a part of all the activities that took place on Saturday that um that resulted in apparently Dave Williams being removed as state party chair Dave disputes that says the meeting was illegal Hugo joined us in the last hour to make the argument that it was not a legitimate meeting we'll continue the conversation on the future of the Republican party here in Colorado you're not going to want to miss it you're listening to the Jeff and Bill show News Talk 710 KNN us [Music] [Music] m [Music] [Music] he [Music] n [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] a [Music] [Applause] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back to the Jeff and Bild show so over the weekend I was following Senator Barbara KK's Twitter account it looks like she was a part of all the activities that were happening on Saturday and so I asked to her to come on the Jeff and Bill show give us a sense of what happened her feelings about the direction of the of the future of the Colorado Republican party Senator kirkmeyer thanks so much for being on the program good morning ABS absolutely thank you for having me so give us your sense what do you think uh good direction for the future of the party uh yes absolutely I mean I actually felt um like people were coming together you know there was a sense of unity a sense of pride a sense of look we're going to get back to what the party is supposed to be doing which is number one get Republicans elected but also work to grow our party put out a message of you know of unity but also a party that focuses on just a new and better future for Colorado we have not been there for a long time now now you're in a very unique position cuz we had other folks on that are Defenders of Dave Williams earlier we've had Eli Bremer on uh your job's kind of at stake you know if you don't get the state party chair right all of a sudden you could have problems in your own uh race your own career down at the state capital and and one of the things I saw Eli Bremer tweet that I found just kind of shocking was that Paul leine and the state party had not been working now Paul leine is the Senate minority leader so he's kind of the top Republican in the Senate down there is that true that the state party and the state Republican Senate Republicans had not been coordinating working together to win some elections this fall that is completely my understanding um and I will just give you an example of my own race so yes I'm up for reelection this year and in my primary where I went through the assembly I was Topline like by a lot Top Line and Dave Williams and the state GOP endorsed my opponent who ended up losing by uh I got 72% so she ended up losing 72 to 28 Wow Let's just say it was 30 let's just say it was 7030 just rounding it off so everybody can figure it out real quick by 40 percentage points that's how much she lost by well and GOP never contacted me and said you know hey how can we help you out they never asked anybody in leadership in my Senate District you know because we all have our own uh District assemblies and and organizational meetings and such never asked anybody there didn't ask my party chair in Well County who they should endorse they just went out and endorsed my opponent and then and then have not coordinated with you since then to win I understand it's one thing to have a a primary opponent but then to not have your primary opponent win okay um now let's get on the same team let's go out there let's defeat the Democrats since you won that primary had Dave Williams and the state party outreached to you to put together a plan to get you cross the finish line Dave Williams hasn't I would say that uh the vice chair sent out emails trying to get everybody to attend candidate forums but seriously why would I do that they've already proven that I am not their candidate that they aren't going to they didn't endorse me and they're not going to support me um why would I do that I don't trust who was in former leadership in our party because look what they've done I mean they went out against Republicans in primaries and they went out hard in some cases look what they did with Jeff herd look what they did with Gabe Evans these are two seats must have and they go out and put out horrible messages about them from our party about another Republican now how are we supposed to recover from that that's ridiculous that is ridiculous and that's probably an indication of why the nrcc was quickly to jump in and say that Eli Bremer was the new chairman of the GOP are are now now we asked Eli whether or not Lauren bobbert had recognized Eli Bremer as the new chairman of the GOP it doesn't sound like that has taken place yet but do you recognize Eli Bremer Senator Barbara kirkmeyer as the chairman of the GOP absolutely I nominated you and I was there to vote for him and I with my understanding on Twitter I thought Lauren bobbert had called Eli Brer but that's what I thought I saw on Twitter but I don't I don't know for certain yeah I think I think the phone call did take place but whether or not fully recognizing I'm not quite sure yet so me neither me neither so um but absolutely I mean we had a State Central Committee meeting for our leadership to think that the body the body the State Central Committee could not call a meeting is ridiculous we all know that the body can call a meeting we had our meeting we called the meeting we followed our bylaws we had an attorney there the former the person who is Chris Murray who had been our former attorney for the state GOP uh he was there we had Wayne Williams there a former Secretary of State he was there as a parliamentarian and ensuring that the election was running smoothly and it did um it it was very obvious I mean so yes we had everyone there um to make sure that we had a sound legal State Central Committee meeting and we followed our bylaws and we did what we can do as a State Central Committee meeting so is not the only who can call the meeting well uh Eli Bremer mentioned in the six o'clock hour he has cancelled the upcoming Saturday meeting um this this upcoming Saturday which is the one that Dave Williams and others had originally called and then Hugo Chavez Ray joined us to say no that meeting is still continuing so uh do you have a sense of what's going to happen this Saturday is that meeting cancelled is that meeting continuing and is this all going to have to be worked out legally there will probably be some legal e that have to be worked out but I will tell you this the State Central Committee met on Saturday we had a quorum and we cancelled that meeting for next week and so I'm happy to hear that our state party chair our new state party chair um is in concurrence and following along with what the State Central Committee meeting did so those folks can meet and if they want to have a rally just like we did a week or so ago um then go for it I think they should have a rally anytime Republicans get together and have a rally and hopefully speak good things about Republicans and work on what our mission is is to you know Focus the party elect Republicans grow our party that would be great hope they have a positive meeting and don't just sit they're and trying and figure out how they're going to undermine the State party any further let's face it I've heard people say that oh you're disrupting you're going to make sure that we can't don't get people elect it no that already happened folks that already happened Willams and our current state our former State party leadership already did that they already made it difficult they spent the funds on themselves they went out against Republicans hard and they've already done that they've already damaged our party their message was fueled by hate instead of unity we're talking with state senator Barbara Kirk me Republican here in Colorado now Dave Williams sent me this message last night would love to get your response on this what Watkins and Eli have done is only broken the party Beyond repair and has certainly open the door to Perpetual open conflict within the party chairman moving forward will have to deal with dubious removal efforts and attempts from Minority factions on an ongoing basis from here on out as a result to even suggest that less than half of the total membership can meet and remove duly elected officers below the Three-Fifths requirement and then have even less than a quarter of the total membership elect a new chair is beyond absurd no party Unity will be found in that scenario they have opened Pandora's Box while Democrats March forward your response Senator Barbara Kirk me I believe that we will have Unity amongst Republicans Statewide if anyone broke and damaged the party it was Mr Williams who started attacking Republicans within about a month actually he attacked Republicans when he was running for State party chair that day at the organizational meeting when he called Republican legislators seist so he started attacking immediately when he told us he was going to try and get Unity bring everybody together he started attacking us the same day he got elected to be State party chair and then he went on to continue to attack Republicans he let out our uh GOP email list to people who put out horrible messages and go after and attack Republicans not just elected Republicans but Republicans that don't step in line with him that's what damaged our party that is what got us to this meeting on Saturday that is what got us to the State Central Committee the body calling for a meeting so that we could oust him so that we could get our party back on track so that we could work to grow our party while focusing on a new and better future for Colorado talking with state senator Barbara Kirk me now um state senator what is your message to Dave Williams supporters maybe there haven't been into the the Weeds on parliamentary procedure um they they just want to stop Democrats and maybe they liked uh Dave's kind of more conservative Firebrand style but are willing to look over and see what you guys are doing and say I'm willing to come over and support Eli I just want to defeat Democrats this uh this November what's your message to them to build and bring Unity come on over we welcome anybody over and come on over we're welcoming anybody into the Republican party we are going to work again to grow our party to elect Republicans to focus on a better future for Colorado we are charting A New Path we welcome you to join us on this journey and help us defeat Democrats come work with us come work with the Senate Republicans so that we don't get into a super minority let's get Senate Republicans elected this year come work with us to get the House Republicans out of a super minority let's do it let's all work together we welcome you to come join us on the journey come help us grow our party and elect Republicans can you tell us what would happen in the state senate if Republicans did become a super minority yes if Republicans in the state in the state senate and in the State House end up in a super minority We Are One vote away from us being a super minority in the Senate and we already are super minority in the house if that happens the first thing everybody needs to understand is I know this may sound kind of contrary but the Democrats will be over will be able to override a Governor's veto so in this last session the governor actually vetoed a couple bills that would have been pretty detrimental to not only businesses throughout the state but to our economy the Democrats would have been able to override those vetos so that's the first thing the second thing is this we have to have at least 12 Republican Senators to kill any attempt to amend our constitution by legislators so it takes a two-thirds vote in both Chambers to refer a constitutional amendment to the ballot if we're in a super minority we can't stop that so I want you to start thinking about maybe the first thing Democrats want to get rid of which would be Taber they would be able to refer a constit tion Amendment to the ballot and we wouldn't be able to stop them and the third thing is really that also is important is that they can change the rules on the senate floor and the house floor which they've done and on the house floor you've seen what happens they basically took away their First Amendment right and told them there are certain words they can't say they've taken away their filibustering ability that's what would happen on the senate floor as well I don't know about taking away our first amendment rights but they would have the rules and they could take away our ability to fil auster and try and kill anything on the calendar that would be detrimental as well the other thing they could do Barb Kirk current Colorado state senator joining us talking about the meeting over the weekend that put in Eli Bremer as new Colorado GOP party chair According to some uh other party chair Dave Williams disagrees the other thing that if they you were in a super minority you wouldn't be able to stop would be uh using taxpayer funds for abortions that's what the ballot measure that they're running this year is about it looks like Hey we're going to codify and say that abortion is fantastic and wonderful and everything it's really a back door to allow the legislature to approve taxpayer funding for that type of health care that's really the mechanism they're going at and if you guys are in a super minority you can't do anything about it and they're going to get everything that they want it's a little scary uh what I want to ask you Barb is what about all this rigor role about the bylaws I'm not asking for you as far as a legal opinion but why are we spending so much time arguing over this minutia about were there enough people were there not enough people and why are we not at the Colorado GOP arguing about how about like you're suggesting getting more Republicans elected that seems to be the hiccup that I have here is uh I I don't understand why it is okay I'm an independent it seems to me like at the core they're members of the GOP that really don't want to win why are we arguing over this minutia and not arguing over the idea of winning great question and I would suggest you pose that to Mr Williams and the former leadership of the party but right now at our discussions on Saturday of the State Central Committee we weren't arguing over the bylaws um we went through and did and followed our bylaws appropriately we had like I said we had attorneys there we had a former Secretary of State there so we did not argue over our bylaws we followed our bylaws did what we can do as a State Central Committee and we are ready to move forward and get Republicans elected so I would say that is the first step on this journey is now we have a leadership that is a leadership in our state party that is focused on getting Republicans elected and charting a new course and I'm everybody come join our journey we're going to get this done now also Barb other thing from the Dave Williams side uh they're just saying that this is about sour grapes things like okay Dave endorsed your opponent and other examples Dave was involved in a race in which he lost um so what Dave is saying and some of his supporters and I don't want to put words in his mouth I'll say the supporters are saying that this is just sour grapes from people who really just want to be in charge and and don't like some of the decisions but they don't necessarily have a plan to go forward and win how do you respond to that um we do have a plan I think um Mr Brer Eli Brer has demonstrated that he has a plan he's already hit the ground running he's already talked to candidates that haven't been spoken to by Mr Williams but it it's not about sour grapes if it was about sour grapes uh we wouldn't have had 10 whatever it was 70 folks or so saying that they're done with Dave Williams that's not what it's about you know the state GOP is supposed to use their funds to support all Republicans instead State GOP funds were used to support Dave Williams um you know instead of defeating Democrats he used State GOP funds to further his own candidacy he started attacking Republicans on day one on day one our state party chair of the Republican party started attacking Republicans elected Republicans on day one and didn't stop and recently as we all know a few month a month or so ago he delivered his latest message of hate this state party has been one that has been fueled by hateful narrative all the way through that's what we're fighting against that's what damaged our party in the first place we're trying to recover from that damage Mr brimer has a great team behind him he's got Britt horn who is our vice chair he's got a former Mesa County chair who is the secretary he's got a former um State party treasur who's going to step up and help out he's got a former Jeff Co County chair he's going to help out with raising funds Mr brimer has demonstrated through his own efforts that he can raise money that he has a good relationship with the nrcc the National Republic committee he has a good relationship with the Republican National Committee uh he's already demonstrated he's already had conversations with him he hit the ground money running the minute he got elected Senator Barbara Kirk her website's kirkmeyer forcolorado.com kirkmeyer forcolorado.com if you want to learn more about her all right real brief pivot we've got one last question for you you're heading into a special session coming up are you optimistic you're going to get some property tax relief for the people of Colorado I am optim istically will get a further property tax relief for Colorado and that's always been my goal I mean homeowners small businesses all of us seniors everyone we've all been suffering from this huge increase in property taxes that has occurred over the last couple of years the the huge Spike I mean for example my in my own case and I think I'm fairly similar to most people in this state my mortgage payment has gone up by 800 bucks a month over 800 bucks a month in the last two years that's about $10,000 a year that I am now paying either in increased insurance rates or increased property taxes don't believe I get that kind of increase in services but that's what's happening so we've put together a very good deal we've negotiated it with the proponents of 108 and 50 who we asked to come back to the table I asked Michael fileld would you come back to the table and try and work with us to negotiate further property tax relief that works for everybody including our our local governments and our state government but quite frankly delivers on more property taxes for our citizens because if 108 passes and I would probably go support 108 I just want everyone to be clear but if 108 were to pass what happens is Senate Bill 233 which I passed in the regular session goes away and that means that our citizens would not receive property tax relief next year we would not receive property tax relief next year in fact our property taxes would go up 108 would ensure that we get property tax relief in the following year so I don't think our citizens want our homeowners our property taxpayers don't want their taxes to go up next year again I think they want property tax relief and I think we should be delivery to them so I am optimistic I hope that Democrats and Republicans understand what's at stake here if we don't get this measure passed and those ballot initiatives don't come off I feel confident that 108 will pass heck even 50 I think will probably pass but if 108 passes we get no property tax released next year it goes up our property taxes go up and you won't see this property tax relief until 2026 let's get it done for people now state senator Barb Kirk me joining the Jeff and Bill show covering a lot of items from the upcoming special session to happened over the weekend Senator thanks so much for being on the program yeah thank you thank you both I appreciate it and thanks for Colorado state representative Brandy Bradley clashes with son's teacher who suggests that to class that Leonardo da Vinci was gender fluid I hate this revisionism history stuff that wasn't even a concept that was furthest from their mind back when Leonardo was alive but yeah we're going to attribute that to him now she confronted her son's High School teacher for allegedly teaching her son that the Mona Lisa was a self-portrait created by gender fluid Leonardo da Vinci I wanted to see what the teacher's response was when Brandy Bradley was Unleashed on this guy it's gonna be a great conversation you're not gonna want to miss it let's go to the news with Blake Olson good morning Blake hey good morning Jeff and Billy 66 and cloudy expecting a high of 88 today the 710 5day forecast has coming up our top story that is ridiculous to say that a group of Republicans who cleans out the house who says we're going to run a clean Financial shift and do something shocking and support our candidates is in some way shape or form creating dis Unity Eli Bremer the new chairman of the Republican party or is he on with Jeff and Bill last hour Dave Williams has been removed from his position as chairman following a vote by Party official he's been the focus of controversy and criticism ever since he sent out an email earlier this year that called on people burning Pride Flags Williams has continued to stand by his comments and claims the meeting that led to him being removed was improper and will not be recognized Bremer is taking the next steps had a great call with Gabe Evans Gabe said that was the first time any a sitting party officer of any type had called him since he was running the same was true with Jeff herd so we're starting to rebuild these relationships we're not wasting any time uh within the next day or two I expect to have a call with the national Republican Congressional committee uh they're very excited to have a new leadership team uh we're going to be working on standing up operations here and trying to get these Congressional racons back on track Colorado state senator Barb Kirk me on with the award winners last hour yes I'm up for reelection this year and in my primary where I went through the assembly was Top Line by a lot and Dave Williams and the state GOP endorsed my opponent who ended up losing by uh I got 72% so she ended up losing 72 to 28 they never asked anybody in leadership in my Senate District never asked anybody there didn't ask my party chair in Well County who they should endorse they just went out and endorsed my opponent the Pentagon ordered two US Navy carrier strike groups to remain on standby in the middle released after Islam Nazis Hezbollah struck Israel over the weekend the IDF handed handled most of the fire RFK Jr has suspended his campaign and he endorsed former president Donald J Trump on Friday of course one passion of RFK Jr is our health and the processed garbage that we're eating a lot of it uh that isn't actually our fault I want to make America healthy again and so does President Trump so I I'm th those are objectives my um The Wall Street Journal may be worried about shareholder value for pharmaceutical companies and I think you know I talked specifically to president Trump about that issue and he said that he wanted to leave as his legacy healthy children and that you know that he he uh he was unconcerned about the other implications a homicide investigation is ongoing after a man was found dead in Clear Creek County over the weekend 57-year-old Doberman breeder Paul pey was headline Colorado state representative Brandy Bradley clashes with son's teacher who suggested to class that Leonardo da Vinci was gender fluid CLA state representative Brandy Bradley confronted her son's High School teacher for allegedly teaching her child that the Mona Lita was a self-portrait created by the gender fluid Leonardo da Vinci my 15-year-old history teacher told her students that Leonardo da Vinci was gender fluid and that Mona Lisa was a depiction of his feminine side what at tonight and tonight is back to school night and she has no idea what kind of Mama Bear is coming for her joining us on the Jeff and Bill show is representative Brandy Bradley so representative give us a sense of how this all started yeah you're your child comes home and says this is what they were taught at school yes good morning my um son came home and said we talked about gender fluid and um I wanted to tell you that before back to school night and I said excuse me and I said in what context he said we were watching a video and after the video was over she said that there are theories that the VIN she was gender fluid and then she went on to say that um the facial analysis shows a many circles that the U Mona Lisa was a depiction of Da Vinci's um feminine side and went on and on about it and I thought to myself what is this teacher I said is she a new teacher is this teacher been teaching for a while and my son said no this is a a teacher that's been teaching for a while and so I texted a friend of mine that works for the school and said no this teacher has been teaching for a long time in our district and is a pretty woke teacher but my son had already told me that she has four different lgbtq flags in her class classroom very big flags that might D wow so it's very clear where they stand now I want to go look because maybe there's some groundbreaking Revelations about Leonardo D Vinci and um Wikipedia has an entire thing on his sexuality but look this is Bottom Line This is what it said he left no letters poetry or diary that indicate any romantic interest he never married and it cannot be stated with certainty that he had a sexually intimate relationship with any person male or female at all little self- reveal revealed about Leonardo's sexuality as although he left hundreds of pages of writing very little of it as personal in nature so what this comes across to me um Brandy is that they are taking modern issues modern perspectives and then forcing it upon people that lived hundreds of years ago that would have never even considered this type of stuff and then somehow claim that they fell in line with the lgbtq agenda when you have literally nothing that would indicate that correct we have the new social studies standards that the Department of Education has put into place and we have a head of lgbtq that wants to talk about their influences on society and this has nothing to do with it I've been as for saying I'm against uh gay men and and things like that has nothing to do with it this is gender fluid and and if that's the case and they're trying to erase gay Society right I mean if Da Vinci was gay then he wasn't gender fluid those are two totally separate things so what was the conversation with your son's teacher like did you confront her about this I imagine you're the type of person that would oh I definitely confronted her I I voice recorded because I wanted it on the record I wanted her to tell me exactly she was very nervous I don't think she's ever been confronted before and you know people said I ambushed her I did not I waited for all the parents to leave and I didn't want to send an email because I didn't want her to be able to um come up with a plan I wanted to know verbatim What what her plan was to tell me and she said that she was given a Douglas County approved video for the kids to watch which I watch it said one time that there was a theory that D Vinci was gay there was no mention of gender fluid there was no mention that the Mona Lisa was a depiction of his feminine side this just went out on her own from some continuing education course that she took to lie to kids because she knows kids don't have the wear with all to to know that that was true or false you cannot lie to children I mean you're a trusted adult and I am frankly sick of it to tell you the truth and you know you don't have to answer this question but it would give us a little bit of context how old is your son so we have a sense of are they teaching this in high school middle school elementary school he's he's 15 years old and this is world history this is not art class this is world history well I went to go look about the idea that Leonardo D Vinci may be gay right and there's really only one historical document concerning Leonardo sexuality as uh being gay because of an accusation of sodomy that happened in 1476 but they were never able to prove it there was no corroborating evidence now back then this was illegal so that's why he's brought up on uh he was accused of it and it came from one single letter but representative Bradley why the hell does that matter we're we're dealing with 15-year-old kids sorry I'm getting worked up about this but we're dealing with 15-year-old kids in a world history class you have one tiny non-c corroborated act accusation that took place in 1476 and we've got to teach kids in 2024 in a world history class about it seriously we I we don't talk about the sexuality of Margaret Thatcher why are we talking about the sexuality of Leonardo deeni based upon one single accusation you know hundreds of years later who cares and why does a kid need to learn about this well well they don't it's it's the woke agenda that are trying to propagate kids down false narratives and I'm not gonna stand for it and you know what come after me but you're not going to shut me up I mean I don't know if people don't understand that they're not going to shut me up they're not going to shut me up so uh what's next I mean are there's different routes for you I imagine this is a public school so um is the teacher backing down did the teacher apologize are you gon to have to take this to the dean or the principal well I was supposed to meet with the principal but we're going into special session today so that's going to be put on hold for God knows until this circus show is over at the state capital um but you know will be followed up on I've filed with a cpan and we will take the next steps I mean Aaron Kane should figure out why her teachers in our school district are still doing these things now Brandy Bradley Colorado state representative joining Jeff and Bill live the question I have when you have the conversation with both the teacher and with u your student that was in the class did the teacher present this as a theory or were they presenting it as fact as if this is what is now conventional wisdom what was the presentation that's interesting you know coming from a 15-year-old it he said that it was presented as a fact now I wasn't in the room so I'm gonna give the teacher a little bit of leeway um the gender fluid I think probably was more presented as this is what is commonly accepted now um it seemed to be that it was fact that the Mona Lisa was a depiction of his feminine side okay and I appreciate this only because um like Jeff you I've done some research on this and actually I've seen some stuff a number of years ago uh first time I saw the idea of the gender fluidity but I've never seen it presented as a fact I've seen it presented as a theory but that's only because they haven't been able to nail down exactly who the woman in is in that portrait they think they have the woman's identity U but that's kind of let it float that and I believe it was 16th century it was about a 100 years or so after Da Vinci passed away that was the first narrative about him being gay is the first time that pops up we do go back to the original accusation why does it matter toy old man I understand based on and this is the thing is I disagree with the teacher in a world history class bringing up the idea of the portrait and gender fluidity that's in our history class you can talk about it based on the you know how the images are designed but there could be something where if again this is only if in the discussion of Leonardo da Vinci you can say you know there was an accusation of homosexual behavior that it was based on one Anonymous letter but this has been something that has been discussed starting as early as here and it still continues today that's it that's all you'd really have to do and say that nobody really knows one way or the other and and for me that would at least say if there are some kids that are gay in the room that you know it's more or less an acceptance thing that hey but again it's how the teacher dealt with it the teacher goes through and goes yes and it's still discussed today that's it the teacher's not shining light on it an effort to lgbtq everything that's ever come at any point um in order to make that more palatable and acceptable to society I think it's a gender driven bottom line it's a gender it's looking back on people that never would have thought of this never had any aspect of this I mean the idea of gender fluidity in the 90s nobody knew it let alone the 1400s well actually that's a little bit incorrect because there was back then there were some and there were ideas especially when go back to especially when you go back into Greek culture yeah there is there are some examples of it and even in the Romans there are some examples of it as well well so that did exist but where I agree with you on the teacher stepping overstepping their boundaries is because that is not a discussion to have that is germine to the world history class at that moment and I do agree with both you and Brandy that the teacher is giving their own beliefs and ascribing it to a theory that is not proven and trying to enact an agenda there I agree with you that is what the teacher is doing uh they way stepped out of the boundary there's no reason inside a discussion of world history whether or not Leonardo da Vinci was gender fluid it has no impact on the discussion about world history nor about the ability and works of Leonardo da Vinci not at all that's in a different classroom you can get into a Humanities classroom you can get that into an art history classroom we can have that as a discussion but I also disagree as Brandy has outlined and I'd be very curious about the teacher and the principal as well if it was presented as factual information then you got an issue because now you're teaching stuff that is not accepted factual information by the large majority of historians that I've got an issue with that would be like a our world history teacher coming in and saying you know there's some disagreement about whether or not the Holocaust existed no there's not don't overstep your boundaries because that's not an accepted Theory representative Bradley yes sir your thoughts on that I I mean I agree I think that if you're in an art history class maybe in college you can extrapolate on the different theories about the Mona Lisa and and da Vinci sexuality but in a 15year old world history class where you're just trying to learn the basics and not trying to rewrite history yeah agree is this indicative of a larger agenda you mentioned the new social studies standard do parents out there need to be aware of what's happening in their schools well yeah I think so I mean we have a high school in our district that says let's talk about pronouns laminated copied on District paper I mean in our district policy is no compelled speech which includes you cannot ask children their pronouns I mean this is a policy 1039 at our state capital that kids can go behind their parents' backs and change their names I mean we pay for their health insurance and their premiums we need to know what's going on in our kids' lives and this is a bigger agenda and parents are not going to accept that can we pivot now to Dave Williams uh we've had a lot of activity over the weekend Eli Bremer was on this morning Senator Barb Kirk me Hugo Chavez Ray in defense of Dave Williams saying that the meeting was not appropriate in fact wasn't even legal what's your take on what happened over the weekend representative Brandy Bradley oh the meeting was not appropriate it was a sham 100 disputed proxy votes a quarter members you know I don't care how you feel about Dave Williams either way we have a meeting next Saturday where everyone could have come to the table and voted the way they wanted to vote and instead um they held this sham of a meeting this past Saturday it's ridiculous it's an embarrassment to my party um and it's shameful we could have been knocking doors for the people who have stepped up to the plate to run for office to bring back a center approach for the 46 to19 State House Representatives the Republicans in our party and instead of knocking doors and making phone calls for those candidates who have put their lives out there to run for office we held jam meeting that 77 people came to it's it's ridiculous now it was 77 plus uh they brought some proxies and I know there's a challenge that's taking place there um are are you supportive of Dave Williams chairmanship of the Colorado Republican party 100% he's a leader he has Integrity he stood up against the sexual perversion and indoctrination of now we want to put his head on a silver platter and and now shad murb and and the Democrats have said the same thing about Eli Brimmer I mean what what's the difference so you know I I it's shameful what happened this past Saturday and I'm ready to be very vocal about it just watch for my ex account because I'm going to let everyone read the receipts that I have yeah now Brandy Bradley I've got a question about the primary contest and Dave Williams here in um Colorado the Colorado Republican party came out for the first time and endorsed a series of candidates in the primary majority of those candidates lost uh some of the arguments on the other side people that want to change are this reflects that the Colorado GOP leadership does not understand or is in touch with the average voter and that's why they lost in the primary they're freaking out that there's going to be more losses coming in the fall if things don't change how do you react to that criticism well the State Central Committee members asked Dave to endorse by a landslide and so have we learned a lesson that probably was a mistake yes but as a leader when you have committee me Members asking you to endorse um by the majority is the leader supposed to say no well here's the thing is if the but the leadership asked him to endorse uh isn't it his choice based on who he endorsed and I think that's the question is the idea that the choices he made did not reflect choices that the voters also made and that would be a question I mean you can have someone like the Broncos ownership can put someone like um Shawn pyton in charge of the team but if he makes bad decisions they can make a change and say the team's not going to win and I think that's the critique even though the the party said hey go ahead and endorse in the primary the endorsements he made didn't come to fruition wouldn't that cause anyone pause to think about what direction are we going if the leadership didn't understand what the voters wanted during the primary well yeah it's easy to be a Monday morning quarter back obviously right I mean I think that there were mistakes that have been made and challenges have come around and I think that we can learn by those mistakes but I'll tell you something Eli Brimmer has come after the true Grassroots Republicans that are running for office too I mean he's targeted myself and kend degraph as GOP progressives that just spend taxpayer money when I'm fighting like hell for the people in my district and and to me that's shameful so um do I think Eli Brer can do anything better what Dave has been fighting for absolutely not and I do not stand by it and I will not say that he is my state party chair never if we've asked this to Barb Kirk and Eli too how do you bridge the gap so um let's say in this case I I think it's going to have to be legally figured out right because there's essentially two people claiming to be chair chairman of the Colorado Republican party um so let's say it falls on Dave's side Dave REM remains chairman of the Colorado Republican part party you've got less than 70 days or so to the election what is your message then to those Central Committee members that said no we want to go with Eli Bremer how do you bridge that Gap get Republicans on the same team and win in just a few weeks when the election comes up well the message should be who the true people that we're fighting is who's the policies that have been made in the state of Colorado is by a majority they have the Executive Branch the judicial branch and the legislative branch the policies that have made Colorado the third least safe state that are ruining the state of Colorado are the Democrats it's not the Republicans we need to come together and fight to take over these Democrat seats that we can actually win so we need to come together and and unite as a party and win back the seats that we know that we can win back we can win back Tammy story seat we can win back vill seat we can win back bad Marshall seat so we better unify and win back the five to six seats that we know we can can win back can we pivot enemy are the Democrats they're not the Republicans can we pivot here one last question you're heading down for a special session give us a sense of what that's going to look like are you optimistic or would you rather have supported these ballot initiatives going to the full ballot this fall well you know that's a hard question right because I think I'm blindly going in I my constituents are sending me lots of emails that they feel like they're losing their ability to vote on ballot initiatives that they designed to put on the ballot so I am um trying to be Optimist I I I like to look at the glass half pool but I I am every time we've gotten called into a special session for a particular special session it never turns out to be for that topic so we shall see I guess I I think that's very wise to be guarded as to what they're going to do down there at the state capital especially with all the Democrats in charge representative brand Brandy Bradley her uh ex account is Bradley for call for [Applause] [Music] [Applause] down [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] um I guess that if she's strong in her convictions and her son's convictions this really probably shouldn't necessarily even be an issue Dan tell me why it's important for 15 year olds to learn about gender fluidity in a world history class and I I don't necessarily think it's necessary and I don't think she was teaching gender fluidity I think she was teaching about the Renaissance and it sounds to me like this was mentioned in the video and the student had a question about it and she explained it I don't know that she's teaching gender fluidity like I said it's a theory and if a kid asked a question about a theory I'm sure you're gonna probably answer what it means um so Alex Jones had a theory that the shooting that took place in Connecticut was a staged shooting at uh Sandy Hook Sandy Hook shooting was a staged shooting he said um is that stuff that we should be teaching the because it's a theory certainly not that's just like saying it's a theory that the Holocaust didn't exist that's right that's right so why would we teach some theories but then perit permit other theories what where's the guidance on that I I don't think she the teacher is teaching this as a theory it is or I mean it she's not teaching it as an agenda I think it was brought up in the video A kid had a question about it and she talked about it I don't think she went into depth and no she's she but she representative Brandy Bradley said that she has Pride Flags throughout the classroom you don't think that this is part of an agenda no what's what's wrong with the pride flag in the classroom well she has multiple Pride Flags in addition to the idea of teaching a theory about Leonardo da Vinci practicing and being gender fluid you you in in your mind that doesn't add up to the idea that she's gotten agenda going on no not at all there's there's teachers all over this state that have pride Flags in their in their classroom does that mean that they're teaching or are they just accepting of those people but in this case she is teaching theories about gender fluidity well and I think we're getting into a semantics I don't think the lesson is about gender fluidity I think the lesson is about Renaissance Art and the change in art and the fact that this was brought up a video and a kid asks a question about it you answer the question and you move on now now I don't know now Dan the thing that I'm that I'm real curious about is the video because my understanding the video and again I'm kind I'm going off of like second and third hand information is the video doesn't address the gender fluidity but does address uh briefly the issue of homosexuality that there's a mention of it uh possib possibly and then my my impression of the conversation again I can be completely and totally wrong on and I'm and I'm happy to admit that my impression of the conversation is that the teacher came in and added the gender fluidity and then it might be a self-portrait afterwards that that was something else that was added on that hey in addition to this part about Leonardo da Vinci that was in the video there's also this and like you I have a question a real serious question about whether or not this was um brought forward as a theory or as a fact because I think that's important in the conversation because if the if the teacher is saying hey this is a theory that is out there I still think that inside of a world history class at this moment probably don't have to go over that but I'm not offended by it but if the teacher comes out and says this is a fact this is now what everybody thinks I would disagree with that fundamentally because that is not what everybody thinks about the theory I completely agree with you seems um in yeah in addition I mean while while they were recording I don't know if you've read the transcript but the transcript says that either her husband whoever was recording this said for a fact that uh the woman and I I can't recall her name actually sat for this portrait well that's not a fact and there's theory on several people who that could be it could be a self-portrait that is a fact as well or I'm sorry that's a theory as well nobody knows exactly who the person was that said that or that sat for the actual painting there's speculation for but nobody knows for a fact but yet the person in the uh audio transcript says I know for a fact that this person sat for this portrait well that's not true either well I don't think the debate is whether or not it's a portra or not the the the frustration coming from parents is that you have an agenda now being pushed through public schools and it's not just this this EXA exact example you have comprehensive sex education which is um been promoted which is is pretty much a promotion of everything except for traditional family beliefs you have new social studies standards that are out there you have teachers with pride Flags out there and now you're showing videos promoting the idea of gender fluidity this is just an agenda and my question to you Dan is is it is it right for agendas for political agendas to piggy back through schools and to be pushed upon kids or should they just be teaching facts I think they should just be teaching facts I agree with that but I would also say too that if you again if you read the CR transcript she also asks why are there not any Christian symbols in here where are the Ten Commandments why not how come there's not a picture of Jesus as as a state representative that can't be in there you're we're not being why should it be because it's fact the Ten Commandments are a fact there historical fact in the creation the formation of this nation that's debatable I would argue that most of our founding fathers were deest and they weren't actually necessarily following Christianity they would argue that there is a higher power for sure but I don't so again why why is why are the why are the rainbow Flags allowed and not the Ten Commandments the T I don't think the 10 the Ten Commandments are religious is a is a you think you don't think that the pride flag is religious no not at all you think there are Christians that are in the lgbtq community well is it an Act of Faith to believe that someone can change their genders that there's over 90 genders out there you don't think that takes a leap of faith so does Christianity takes a leap of faith but you just told me that Christianity is religion and that the lgbtq is fact I did not I didn't say it was fact but I there are people that are gay and lesbian who are Christians is that is that does that go against Christianity but my challenge to you is why do you put Christianity in the category of religion and not the lgbtq organ belief set of beliefs I don't see them as seeing anything as a higher power I think I think religious beliefs have to do with a higher power I think Dan I would agree with you on that the LGBT movement probably doesn't believe in a higher power but we'll leave it with that Dan we're just out of time uh Dan's line will let's it over to the GOP here in Colorado Adam grey you're on the Jeff and Bill show News Talk 710 K good morning morning gentlemen thank you for inviting me on the show I appreciate you taking my call yeah go for it what's up yeah so I'm I'm the president of the America First veterans Alliance here I I work closely with some of the Trump constituents have been down in maril laga a few times this year and our biggest focus is to encourage you know younger veterans and people really involved in their communities to get involved in this so you know I'm a paratrooper I'm a farmer I'm an oil and gas man out here in Colorado that's what I've done I've stayed out of local politics for 17 years uh I'm also a grad of the United States Air Force Academy like Mr Bremer uh so you know I understand his perspective as well I Fought For Justice Reform at the Air Force Academy for over a decade in DC so are you supporting Eli or supporting Dave well this is what I want to discuss is that uh from a neutral perspective you know I see Dave's perspectives and he's definitely made mistakes I've seen Eli's perspectives he's definitely made mistakes and I was at that meeting I sat down there for all five hours but I'm all about parliamentary procedure and what we're doing to support our America First Trump supporting candidates and what I don't understand from an Ethics perspective is how they voted to say that only three-fifths of the members present could decide the future of 600 over 600,000 Republicans in the state of Colorado is that ethical are we all being represented I've sat on the back corner for a long time here in wel County I've been even blocked on Facebook groups by leaders in the W County GOP out here just from being constituent and trying to get involved in local politics why why are our voices being silenced whether that's Dave Williams side or the Eli Brer side Adam it's a great point I appreciate the call we're just out of time here I'm gonna get quickly to Raymond Denver you're on the Jeff and Bill show News Talk 710 K us good morning Raymond morning guys thanks for taking the call yeah go what's on your mind so um my name is Raymond Garcia I'm the chairman of the Colorado anic Republicans that's a Statewide organization um first I'd like to say I am we are actually 100% behind Dave Williams and we we feel that the uh um meeting they held on the 24th is illegitimate as has been determined by both this the national uh parliamentarian for the RNC and the state parliamentarian for Colorado Republican or Colorado Republican and the the things that I have on for you when you guys are making your comments and I get it you guys have your agenda you want to support Eli but I don't have any agenda in this well it's clear you do I mean everybody can see it he doesn't at all he's Bradley and on with respect we've had Dave number 30 minutes with one you gave heli what 30 minutes with one uh Interruption with a a commercial Interruption you gave Hugo what seven minutes with a interruption right in the middle and then you gave Barb Kirk me what 20 minutes with one Interruption so you don't have an agenda no don't if and and and we understand that Dave's busy today but if he want to come on and spend 20 minutes as well and we just and we just had Brandy Bradley on and she had time as well we have not picked a dog in this fight but it is fair to ask questions and Eli's question is very fair when Dave Williams as the leadership of the party chooses a slate of candidates and they fail in the primary shouldn't you ask questions about whether or not the party leadership understands the voters a great question that's a great question so let's let's let's dive into that question so party was Ed okay well the party was ordered to endorse candidates all they could do was send out questionnaires to get the candidates to so that they could pick who they're going to endorse the qu the candidates that did not return those questionnaires did not get endorsed and then they cried that they didn't get endorsed all right Raymond we're just out of time I appreciate the call again we don't have a dog in this fight and Dave Williams is always welcome to come on we hope he'll join us you're listening to the Jeff and Bill show News Talk 710 KNN us [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] downtown anymore and I don't blame him so we'll get into that he's running for congress trying to represent the city of Denver so lots to cover in the nine o'clock hour let's check in on the news with Blake Olson good morning Blake well thank you sir appreciate it Jeff and Billy 69 and cloudy expecting a high of 88 today the 7105 day forecast coming up our top story that is ridiculous to say that a group of Republicans who cleans out the house who says we're going to run a clean Financial ship and do something shocking and support our candidates is in some way shape or form creating disunity Eli Brer the new chairman of the Republican party or is he on with Jeff and Bill last hour Dave Williams has been removed from his position as chair chman following a vote by party officials he's been the focus of controversy and criticism ever since he sent out that email earlier this year they called on people uh burning Pride Flags Williams has continued to stand by his comments and claims that uh the meeting that led to him being removed was improper and will not be recognized bremmer moving on had a great call with Gabe Evans Gabe said that was the first time a sitting party officer of any type had called him since he was running the same was true with Jeff herd so we're starting to rebuild these relationships we're not wasting any time uh within the next day or two I expect to have a call with the national Republican Congressional committee uh they're very excited to have a new leadership team uh we're going to be working on standing up operations here and trying to get these Congressional racons back on track Colorado state senator Barb Kirk me yes I'm up for re-election this year and in my primary where I went through the assembly I was Top Line by a lot and Dave Williams and the state GOP endorsed my opponent who ended up losing by uh I got 72% so she ended up losing 72 to 28 they never asked anybody in leadership in my Senate District never asked anybody there didn't ask my party chair in Well County who they should endorse they just went out and endorsed my opponent well State Rep Brandy Bradley sides with Williams she was on with Jeff and Bill last hour 100% % he's a leader he has Integrity he stood up against the sexual perversion and indoctrination of now we want to put his head on a silver platter and and now shad murb and and the Democrats have said the same thing about Eli Brimmer I mean what what's the difference so you know I I it's shameful what happened this past Saturday and I'm ready to be very vocal about it just watch for my ex account because I'm going to let everyone read the receipts that I have stay tuned more to come this weekend in another story Bradley making news again A teacher told her son in a class that Leonardo da Vinci was gender fluid she was given a Douglas County approved video for the kids to watch which I watch it said one time there was a theory that da Vinci was gay there was no mention of gender fluid there was no mention that the Mona Lisa was depiction of his feminine side this teacher just went out on her own from some continuing education course that she took to lie to kids because she knows kids don't have the wherewithal to to know that that was true or false you cannot lie to children I mean you're a trusted adult and I am frankly sick of it to tell you the named so am I W atenda pushers quit jacking up great history not even relevant members of a house task force are in Butler Pennsylvania today touring the site of the assassination attempt of former president Trump the July 13th shooting of course at Butler Farm killed Corey comparator uh and injured Trump and two others the bipartisan task force says it will be touring the grounds in an effort not only to understand what went wrong that day but to ensure accountability and to prevent such an incident from happening again they need to look into the Secret Service and that is what they're doing if you don't think the lame brain Lefty media is all in for kamicon listen to the Dork John Carl with the great Senator Tom cot and president Trump is going to draw a sharp contrast with kamla Harris who has supported things like decriminalizing illegal immigration or giving taxpayer funded health insurance to illegal aliens or taking away health insurance on the job for 170 million Americans Banning gas cars confiscating firearms what do you mean taking away health insurance what are you talking about she said when she ran for president that she wants to eliminate Private health insurance on the job 170 million Americans John yeah I mean I mean that is not her position now she know how do you know that's not her how do you know that's not her position I mean she she said she no long supports she has not said that maybe she just crushed him the only good thing about the Democrats endlessly bringing up Trump the DNC as we get this Jil Donald Trump Donald Trump Donald Trump Donal Donald Trump Donald in the 710 K usest Weather Center [Music] all right welcome back to the Jeff and bills show conservative group calls on Congress to defend Biden's oil and gas leasing rules from attacks joining us to give us some insight is Dave Jenkins he's the president of conservatives for responsible stewardship Dave drill baby drill what are we doing we want to defend Biden give me some insight on this well this is yeah this is not about drill Baby D this is um this is about protecting taxpayers and uh so the new rule basically does two primary things uh one is it um uh increases the bonding amount for um uh people drilling to make sure get rid of this orphan well problem so that they put up enough money in a bond that if they skip out on their obligation to plug and clean up the well that's not us taxpayers holding the bag the other thing it does is it raises the royalty rate on the oil produced uh to the same level as what the states of Montana and Wyoming uh require for drilling on state lands um in fact the bonding reform measure uh was first proposed by the Reg Administration uh but for some some reason it never never happened and you know the kind of thing we're trying to stop is you've got a case there in Colorado where there's a lawsuit um a complaint that alleges a company called HRM resources um serves as a middleman and they accumulate these depleted oil wells and then they transfer those oil WS to companies that are structured to go bankrupt and by doing that the the person doing the drilling and extracting the oil and making the profit uh they get off the hook they don't have to pay for it but guess who does you and me and that's not fiscally conservative in my book well I understand the idea of wanting to address maybe the orphaned Wells but it doesn't seem to be very conservative to want to increase the royalty rate isn't that just a tax upon these oil and gas companies well the royalty rate is what you and me the taxpayers get um for allowing these companies to drill on public lands um these public lands belong to all of us they belong to you and me um and Texas charges 25% uh for oil that's pulled out of Texas State lands and what we're talking about is 16% which it used to be up from 12% is what it what it was and then States like uh Montana and and U Wyoming and Utah all these these Western States if the if the oil companies drill on the state lands they're getting 16% uh Colorado's I think at 20% um and so we're just bringing the federal land drilling a little bit more in line it's still less than offshore drilling which is the royalty rate is 18% so bringing it up from 12 to 16 uh given the fact it hasn't changed in like 50 years um seems to be a prudent thing to to U make sure we deal responsibly with things like our federal deficit and uh making sure there's no excuse to raise taxes on us because uh other folks are not paying their fair share but aren't they going to have to pass that on to the purchaser so I know the idea is the money is going to go to the government in in the form of a royalty but uh businesses don't just eat those costs they pass those costs on to the consumer so aren't all of us going to have to pay more at the pump because of it um probably not because the O price of oil is set on a global market it's much bigger than what happens in any given state so that's why Texas can charge 25% on royalties and Texas oil is not more expensive than you know oil from Wyoming at 16% uh this is all set on the global stage the other thing is even if it did and I'm not saying it will but even if it did bump up a tiny fraction of a cent um on fuel prices um would you rather have that or would you rather have your tax bill go up because um uh you're having to compensate for the fact that we're not getting adequate revenue from our resources no Dave Jenkins you're the president to the conservatives for responsible stewardship they put out a press release saying conservative groups call on Congress to defend Biden's oil and gas leasing rules from attacks um now this is has to do with federal land federal land out west um from my understanding is that the federal government owns a lot of land out west almost a lot more I think close to 50% of all the land in the Western United States um why not give that land back to the States and and allow the states to be able to collect that tax revenue that seems to directly benefit the people as opposed to going back to the federal government well first of all that would be a that would take a while to get done and uh we're talking about trying to protect taxpayers right now but to your point um every state in the west um they have a a charter where an agreement they made with the federal government when they became a state and the the the union gave them a certain amount of land that was for the state and they signed an agreement saying we we um forsake you know any claims on additional land besides what we were given in our land grants and what's happened over over the years is that those states have privatized a lot of that land that they were given and so now they're like oh we we gave all this we sold all this land so uh now we don't have much maybe we should get more uh well you you you kind of have to uh uh live within your means and um but why would the why would the western United States have like 50% federal land when many of the other states don't my understanding is the argument was this was supposed to trans transition and Congress jumped in in the 70s to try to maintain that land in federal hands uh this land was uh The Spoils of War with the Mexican-American War and um so each state upon um uh entry into the Union um they each have a a contract they make with the federal government and each of those contracts are different the the land the the states in the East you know they came they emerged out of the colonies and uh that was a whole different different situation but regardless I mean what we're concerned about is fiscal responsibility in protecting taxpayers so if you're going to try to prevent these companies these Bad actors in the oil industry from skipping out on their obligation which they promise they promise they'll plug and clean up the well as part of their permit and then they skip out and leave us taxpayers holding the bag why why the heck wouldn't we be mad about that I I think that is the more sympathetic side to the argument of of you know leaving these Wells just you know and all the problems that they can uh create we had a a home here in Colorado just blow up because there was um a leak from a well that included gas that was not detectable so that is I'm I'm sympathetic to that I guess my challenge is the idea of raising the royalty rate because to me that smacks of either tariffs or raising the minimum wage and whenever that happens the the costs just get passed on but Bill I'll let you ask the next question yeah so I'm curious Dave Jenkins president of the conservative group the um conservatives for responsible stewardship talking about the oil and gas production what I want to ask you is why do the oil and gas companies keep asking for more permits when they already have a lot of permits that they're not using currently why do they need to have access to more permits if they're not using the ones they have well need it goes between need and want yeah they don't need them um there's there's there's a lot of lease land that's not uh being used and there's a not lot of permits that are not being used but part of the name of their game is they want to have as much control over as much area as they can so they can tell their shareholders hey we've got all this potential to develop oil down the road um and so that's that's the game they're playing whether but you know as we found out um just after sort of Co started um going away um the oil company CEOs themselves were saying no we're not going to invest in more drilling we're going to take take more profits for our shareholders because we want to make our shareholders whole because they've kind of taken a beating over the last several years because oil prices tanked when uh when nobody was driving anywhere during Co um so they're not going out and drilling as much as they can but but even with that we are producing more oil today than we ever have before we're the leading oil producer in the world and so you know they obviously there's plenty of oil drilling happening there's plenty of oil flowing from here and um but the thing is is we're concerned about the Bad actors we're those under capitalized fly bite companies that are going around and trying to just extract The Profit that they can and then skip out and and on their obligations and leave us taxpayers holding the bag if you and I promise to clean up something and we just don't do it especially if we were a kid growing up our moms wouldn't exactly let that happen right um the this shouldn't be any different if they promis to plug and clean up these Wells and and that's part of the privilege of getting to drill on public lands that belong to all of us and then they just skip out and leave taxpayers holding the bag well you know you got to fix that you got to startop the we got 130,000 orphan oil and gas Wells across this country right now that are documented well we we're having to spend taxpayer of dollars to clean up those 130,000 the least thing we can do is stop the bleeding stop adding to that number um because this is a this backlog is still going to cost us uh billions and Bill tens tens and tens of billions of dollars to clean up cost 15 200 ,000 president of conservatives for responsible stewardship appreciate your time today thanks so much for being on the Jeff and Bill show appreciate it yeah thank you for having me have a good day we'll continue our conversation coming up next is valdemar archel he's live in studio yes he's sporting a for us Doug's Diner is a great family story where Rick and his business partner purchased it a couple years ago and they leaned into the idea of locally sourced food so what you're going to eat there Doug's Diner is all made with ingredients that they buy Here locally uh earlier today they shouted out some of the local businesses that they deal with and there are farmers and ranchers that are right here in Colorado so again this is Colorado grown food prepared by Colorado resident because they love Colorado so come get your grub on we're going to be there tomorrow morning Doug's Diner it's in Parker between Parker and 20 mile on the north side of the road on Main Street we'll be there bright and early hope to see you there all right valmar let us up next you're listening to the Jeff and Bill show new talk 710 KNN us [Music] B [Music] a [Music] he a [Music] [Music] a [Music] he [Music] welcome back to the bill show all right we're going to divot here this was actually my original plan to have this conversation today and then all the stuff blew up over the weekend I think valdemar Oreland is a great guy and got to meet him since he's decided to get into office now he's um he's running for congressional district one which is Diana Deets district and he's joining us live in studio and I saw this article over the weekend so he wants to represent Denver in Congress and I saw this article Denver Post downtown Denver's office vacancy rate near 34% yeah it's ridiculous believed to be a record changed work routines right because people don't don't go into the office as much right they work from home but then al Downtown conditions cited and when you combine this with another opinion piece that popped up in the Denver Post you see that it's a systemic problem here's Walter Eisenberg restaurant tours are leaving Colorado due to its hostile economic environment he says well-intentioned legislation that's always progressives are always well-intentioned but has created a hostile economic environment for small businesses the owner of sage Hospitality says look I I was the chairman of the western conservative suit for eight years we decided not to do it in Denver anymore because my audience wouldn't go downtown yeah it was a real simple you know economic calculation my audience was like don't host it there we'll never do it again it was like the top feedback we got from downtown so uh he lives near Denver he wants to represent Denver he's tied into the Denver seen ladies and gentlemen valdemar Arch atanta thanks for being on the program welcome yeah thanks for having me and um you guys are wonderful fabulous people toight here um yeah I live I live fairly close to downtown I'm just west of the stadium um nice I always want to call it Mile High Stadium I don't care what they name it always it is always going to be mile which by the way I I completely this is a whole side topic I was driving down Federal yesterday I completely forgot about the game that there'd be hundreds of people everywhere but I saw several vendors who were on Federal and they have their little tents and they're selling you know Bronco stuff that had Trump Flags waving from the top and they were selling Trump flags on Federal in the middle of Denver wow I I had one back in the day I was at the old mile high uh we were doing uh we were doing an event there and I had forgotten that it also was the Cinco Deo celebration and I accident L exited the parking lot the wrong direction that was a fun hour and a half drive home at 3 mil hour but I was in a parade so yeah Federal fun on zinco De but yeah back on topic it's getting rough downtown and this for people who live in Denver um I live in Denver it it's not surprising I wasn't surprised that these two articles both kind of dropped um at the end of next week because people have seen it and when you talk to business people downtown they've been talking about this um maybe it hasn't been as public I know like our city leadership especially the mayor likes to talk about how great the city's doing and we're you know we're the standard that all the other cities want to be like great we handled everything everybody left and I'm like I don't know if you have the same view of our city as the people who are actually living down there have of it but it is kind of rough and and campaigning in Denver I often end up in situations where like I'm the only Republican in the whole group and we have our Democrat leadership and pretty much every in the audience is a Democrat and it is interesting in those situations because I feel like they kind of let their guard down and they say they say things I don't think they would say normally like as far as like um they're just they're very hostile towards business people and property owners and you can see it with the legislation that comes out they like to have this narrative that you know everyone who owns a business is just a greedy person and they need to do better for like their community and their employees um as though they're all like Millionaires and billionaires um even these little businesses and that you know all property owners are just you know the greedy land owner and and you can see that in the legislation they put out and what they're doing they obviously they hate Taber they hate any form of tax relief and of course their answer is never that maybe the government should do a better job of its um handling its finances it just needs more money and and so they they're going after um businesses downtown in a way that you know they're dealing with both state legislation and city city legislators so you have things like you know the retail delivery fee they now are going to Institute a sidewalk fee that's going to affect both um residential and Commercial a sidewalk fee you're going to have to pay $150 a year for the city to maintain your sidewalk so as a business so you for everyone so you like re the um home homeowners are going to have to pay that and if you own a business too you're going to have to also pay that for your business um you know we just recently I think it was in 23 they instituted the trash disposal fee so we now pay to have our trash taken away and all these things may be like a little bit like oh it's just $22 a month that's not bad um but when you add all these things on top of each other and on top of each other with the regulation businesses are facing I mean that article the the restaurant tour put out was it Walter he mentioned um some of these green energy policies being put out one by the state was House Bill 2112 86 which says emissions in Colorado have to be dropped by 7% by 2026 which isn't that far away and then the city has an energized Denver um policy that they want to reduce Greenhouse admissions by 80% by 2040 and again these sound good but the thing is a lot of the policies and and things that have to be done to accomplish this are put on the businesses they have to pay to have different studies done in the buildings they in they have to pay to to change things and again these may seem like it's just a little thing each one of these things on their own but you put them all together and it makes it financially difficult for people to start a business in Denver when you could just move to like Lakewood or to Highlands Ranch or to Aurora and and have less regulation um not that some of those places aren't kind of the same a lot of a lot of people are opting just to move out of the state yeah I have a friend who has a business and he he mails things as part of his business and you know because of some of these regulations on sending things they add excuse me though they added like a six cent per item like um fee and which again 6 cents don't seem like a lot but when you're mailing hundreds and hundreds of things a day so now his business runs out of sh um because it was is better he makes more money there like a not that far away as in cyen and that's happening happening with a lot of these businesses um but not just that you look at what's happening with the 16th Street Mall they started the construction on that what back in April of 2022 and it was supposed to be ending up like about now by the end of this year it was supposed to be done but now they're extending it through next fall so um you have this huge construction project right in kind of that Central cor walking distance so the businesses along the 20 or 16th Street Mall have had this giant fence and barricade in front of their stores people aren't walking there it's really loud and with all those buildings the the noise from the construction just like Echoes through the whole Downtown City it makes it harder to get around because it kind of just cuts that middle part off um and it's it's been it's been rough and then you have the homelessness problem down there you have crime um which is an issue um again even despite I I was at one meeting and one of the people from the police department were saying I you know crime is better than ever we aren't having a problem I'm like who told you to say that don't lie for them to tell us the truth um I one of my volunteers Works down toown and she was telling me all about what they're facing at their building that their building's been shot at twice in this past year and this is like right in the middle of the day so while they're at work someone shooting at their building onetime bullet a bullet like went right through their building so people um aren't comfortable working downtown and she was saying you see like every day in front of their building or on the street you'll see an ambulance pull up for something either someone's overdosed there's been a fight there's been um some kind of violence and it's just it's not a comfortable environment for businesses to to live in and then with like that article about the bu the restaurants leaving one of the things you want to look at when you have a business is like all right like on lunch hour where can our employees go to eat exactly after work is it going to be an environment where we can go out after and go here to have some food some drinks whatever if that doesn't exist it's like why why are you downtown like you would think that's the benefit of being downtown and the and the other one is parking and um transportation as well because yeah with all the construction it is phenomenally difficult to get in and around downtown and then I'm going to throw some shade here uh we decided we need that big of a bike lane really really yeah if you go down we can't move cars and we got a giant bike lane how many bikes do they think are moving around and not only do they have the bike Lanes but they put up those giant like cone things all throughout the street so it makes the area for cars so much smaller oh well that's all intentional they've talked about that they want Denver to look like a European city yeah they want less cars and so they're and they are they getting them we're not going downtown happy now they're actively making it more difficult for you to drive downtown yes and a lot of employees who want like you know if you have an you're an employer down town you want to attract your employees to want to work with you down there right um people aren't going to want to go down there when you're making it it's just not fun I mean look look I I I moved back to Colorado in 2012 grew up here but then went to DC California and then to DC for six years respectively and then uh came back and in 2012 downtown was fun man like I remember the Western conservative Summit uh different sponsors would rent out different bars people had fun walk around he felt safe you went to the game Kyle Clark's talking about his micr Brew now nobody wants to go downtown anymore just I I lived on poetz row Sherman Street for a while and then I lived at 13th in Downing I I was a downtown kid that's where you know when I was starting the radio career here in Denver when I moved back that's where I lived and it was about going downtown it was about heading across and we to the Cherry Cricket it was about getting downtown and wandering going to Governor's Park getting down going to Charlie Browns you know those are the places you'd go to and now I remember as a teenager playing hide and go seek down I would not recommend kids your parents chared abuse for do that a number of hours that I spent at wax tracks in in around that community in that area as well it's but you can't find parking you can't get down there very easily and then when you do many times you're you know you're going to wander around either there's going to be trash around or there's going to be construction or you're going to have a number of people asking to help them out and they're G to be mad at you if you don't give them if you give them money valmar archeleta joins us live in studio when we return I'm going to ask him about Dave Williams Robert F Kennedy the coming together together of the Republican Party in the National stage and the Civil War tearing us apart locally you're listening to the Jeff and Bill show new talk 710 KNN [Music] n [Music] [Music] a [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] n [Music] [Music] n [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Applause] [Music] n [Music] a [Music] [Music] [Music] Bly this is going to be us tomorrow morning but not Tipsy on alcohol Tipsy on great delicious delumptious food yeah everybody get to come and eat with us at Doug's Diner tomorrow morning 18595 East Main Street 18595 East Main Street Doug's Diner in Parker it's basically between Parker Road and 20 mile on the north side of the street uh we've been talking to them they are going to actually break out the spicy Reuben Mark the salesperson here it wasn't giving me the secret so we had to talk to people at Doug's earlier uh today Lindsay joined us on Friday as well to give me a secret about their spicy Reuben we're looking at that one she has got a burger that she talked about this morning where they put that's right peanut butter jelly and green chilies on it all together that's some sort of crazy weirdness that I'm all into so I don't glad I'm off my diet all right um joining us live in studi valdemar archeleta he's a cand for congressional district one in Colorado he's trying to unseat Diana deette which is going to be very hard with all the great wonderful things she's delivered for the people of Colorado oh wait she's one of those safe districts she just shows up doesn't ever do anything and then valdemar comes along really challenges her maybe takes away that seat maybe archeleta for colorado.com is this website archeleta for colorado.com all right Val I want to talk about the Robert F Kennedy endorsement that took place on Friday afternoon um it seems like Donald Trump's tent getting bigger you know he's he's kind of pulled in some old timeing Democrats the tulsy gabard of the world the Robert F Kennedy now you I think you still do are the head of the Log Cabin Republicans which I am still the president president Log Cabin that's the lgbtq organization within um the Republican party but Republican party's always stood for traditional marriage so you're you're willing to give on a few things because you're focused on some core Central things now um do you think that Donald Trump's doing is he building a bigger tent um he is and and he should that is something I think Republicans need to do uh follow his example look what he's done he's gone into the Bronx he's gone into Detroit into the inner cities and talk to people and he was well received we need to do that and campaigning all over Denver and I'm seeing that I'm being well received when you actually talk to the people and you just talk about issues policies and solutions they agree with us a lot I was um campaigning with our house District 5 candidate and we had a table set up right in the middle of downtown Denver in a park and people were coming and talking to us and we had a bunch of great conversations with people so I love what Donald Trump is doing and bringing these people in and building a coalition Beyond just even Republicans so how do we do that build a coalition so uh you and I have different views on marriage I'm a Bible believing Evangelical you and I even went up to um Jack Phillips one time and spent some time up there together and got to know him and I I think you and I have built a friendship I appreciate your friendship we have disagreements but we found areas that we get along with and we're friendly to each other um can you do that in politics Val you can I mean it's like friendship if you're only going to hang out with people who agree with you on 100% of the times you're just going to be by yourself all the time you're going to be a lonely person and when it comes to politics it's about numbers the way you win is by building numbers and you have to be able to listen to other people and and and recognize you agree with each other on the core principles and I really loved Robert um Kennedy's speech Friday yeah he very and he was very open that he disagreed with a lot of things Donald Trump had done he's like I don't like a lot of the things he did in the last um last time he was president but we agree on the core issues and that's what's important so he's going to go work with him they're coming together and um we especially here in Colorado we don't have the luxury of being able to push people away I don't care who you are if you're going to vote you're going to add a vote to our our numbers come on over and join us so um we need to go out and re reach out to different people who maybe we think wouldn't agree with us but when you talk to them you find out they do so I appreciate that now that's an interesting one and the the the circle that I can't square with RFK Jr uh jumping on board with Trump is on two sides one RFK Jr couple of months ago said that there's no way he would ever be dropping out or going to support either of the two major parties because they both suck and hit zero yeah exactly and the other one was just a couple months ago uh Donald Trump was calling RFK a Democrat plant and said no Republican should ever support him or vote for him or anything else how did RFK Jr go from a Democrat plant spoiler in the race to now being buddies um things change it's politics you know um there's you you look back in 2016 at the primary and yeah um all the name calling that was done throughout the primary and then they you know it's over they come together you know like with with Ted Cruz and that and they make you know you make peace and go forward for the greater good and um I'm sure they had a lot of conversations and a lot of discussions as to how they can work together and how this could be beneficial for both of them and what they want to do and what they want to accomplish for the country and so um those things happen in politics it's not great but no Val we've only got we've only got a few minutes left here let's talk the Civil War speaking of um Unity versus coming apart Colorado GOP uh who's the chairman right now I don't know I'm not gonna lie that's kind of where we all are right now oh that is great I I think I mean from it sounds like it's Eli Bremer yeah um I who's your think I heard you know here's the thing I went Channel 31 called me to do an interview once and I showed up and they're like we we're surprised when they we called you it was you who answered I'm like I I am my PR person I am my everything so um I don't know um I don't know it's it's right now we in Colorado we have a bunch of wonderful candidates I think we have a great slate of candidates across the state um so I would tell the people out there support your candidates help them win whatever drama is happening in the state party does not matter for that we have to win but you you put together a letter calling for Dave Williams to resign so you're you're not a fan I am not a fan of Dave Williams but if under the legal process he is the state chair I will recognize that you know I just I haven't had the time to really look into what happened what actually is the legal process if any challenge coming back from Dave is legitimate I don't know I haven't looked into it so I'm not going to pretend I do and like Eli I I like Eli I think Eli is a good guy I don't know if he's the best person to actually unify the party who um I don't know I think br would have been a better choice for for chair because I think she would be able to reach all sides of the party a little better um then Eli I think Eli is just too um like he's placed with a certain group within the party and I think a lot of people view him as being part of the more establishment side of the party and it's going to be harder for him to connect with people on the other side um I hope we all can come together though I saw someone put out a post that was basically saying you know what the average Republican across the state has no idea what the party does that they're even there and they do not care so ultimately again we just we got to get our candidates elected just regardless of what's happening in the state party and and not A lot's really been done recently to help candidates anyway so even if we had not State party I don't think anything would be any different than it is right now so um it's it's I used theate party we used to help out a lot we were super engaged it hurts my heart to hear that valdemar archeleta he's running for Congressional District 1 to unseat Dina to get his website archeleta forcolorado.com archeleta forcolorado.com friend of the show Val thanks so much for being on for having me in all right tomorrow morning Doug's Diner Billy and I are there live 6:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. not going to want to miss
