Washington Football Literally Lost Everything (The Huskies Had A Mass Exodus)

if there is one fan base that has learned the cost of winning it is the Washington Huskies last year under kayin dbor the Huskies ended up going undefeated all the way until the national championship game dor arrived at Washington just a year earlier as he had taken over in 2022 and led by his former quarterback at Indiana Michael penx Jr the Huskies became one of the best teams in the country and obviously made themselves a national championship run in 2023 the Huskies fell short but after the season was over dor took the head coaching robit Bama and pretty much everybody left after being a team that was in the final game they are now left to pick up the pieces and have a new coach that has to try to replace and restart everything in today's video I want to talk about how the Huskies lost pretty much everything they had a mass Exodus of players sent a ton of players to the NFL and what I think is on the horizon for the program but before we get started if you're a big fan of college football be sure to subscribe to the channel leave a like if you to support today's video and let me know what player team topic or situation I can cover next now let's get started and talk about the mass Exodus that hit Washington football okay so after the season was over Washington lost literally everything in terms of the players who went off to the NFL you first have to start with Michael penx Jr after being a three star recruit coming out of high school he flipped from Tennessee to Indiana where he spent a couple of years there and was pretty dominant in 2020 and then after a poor 2021 season he would transfer to Washington where he would blow up he ended up throwing for a total of 13,741 passing yards in college and had 96 touchdowns because of his dominant performance he ended up finishing second in the Heisman Trophy voting and was actually drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the eighth overall pick while something it was a stupid pick I actually liked it because I think he has an IT factor that no other quarterback has in this year's class and that is the first guy they lost the second guy they lost also went in the top 10 as coming out of Bishop Gorman romad dun had a spectacular career and decided to commit to Washington as a fourstar recruit he end up playing a little bit in 2020 before he would start playing more in 2021 and then took over in 2022 and 2023 in total he had 188 catches for 3,60 yards and 22 touchdowns roban dun was a finalist for the bnov and was just drafted with the ninth overall pick by the Chicago Bears where he will probably be the main weapon for Caleb Williams the next guy they lost was Troy fatano after coming out of Henderson Nevada he was only a three star recruit and committed to play for the Washington huskys he ended up red shirting in 2019 and would play a ton over the next 4 years in 2023 he ended up winning the Morris trophy for the top offensive lineman in the Pack 12 and then declared for the 2024 NFL draft where he was taken with the 20th overall pick in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers he was drafted to the team that he ended up loving growing up after that they also had Jaylen pole he ended up going to the same high school as Dez Bryant and after a record- setting career there he would play one year at Texas Tech before transferring to Washington in 2021 he'd play a little bit then but ended up having a terrible injury in which he had to go to the hospital and then would bounce back in 2022 and 2023 he became one of the three-headed monsters at receiver and would end up declaring for the 2024 NFL draft where he was taken with the 37th overall pick in the second round by the New England Patriots so far he's apparently looked like the number one option on the team and will hopefully be a quarterback of the future for whether it's Drake May or Joe Milton being the quarterback there the fifth guy that Washington lost was Roger Rosen Garden he ended up going to Valor Christian high school and was actually rated as a four-star recruit and the number 11 overall tackle Prospect in the class of 2020 he decided to commit to Washington and in his first two years he only played in a combined five games in 20122 he would start all 13 games and then in 2023 he became one of the nation's best offensive linemen declared for the draft and was taken with pick number 62 in the second round by the Baltimore Ravens where he will look like a guy that will play a ton in the future the next guy that was taken was brillan Trice he ended up going to Sandra de o Conor High School in Phoenix and after having a high school career in which he had 16 and a half sacks he committed to Washington he ended up red shirting in 2019 and would opt out of 2020 and then would play over the next 3 years he was named the MVP of the Almo Bowl against Texas in 2022 and after a dominant career he was drafted with pick number 74 by the Atlanta Falcons he will join Michael penx Jr my goodness Washington lost a ton of talent after that jayen McMillan was the third wide receiver drafted from the Huskies as coming out of San huan High School in Fresno California he had a combine 3,000 yards and 31 touchdowns after catching 162 passes he ended up playing multiple sports but after being rated as a four-star player committed to Washington over Notre Dame in Alabama as a freshman in 2020 McMillan played sparingly but in his sophomore year his production would increase he L the team in receiving yards and then in 2022 he was seen as a guy who could blow up he ended up catching 79 passes for 1,98 yards and N touchdowns and in 2023 he was expected to get even better unfortunately he would take a back seat to jayen p and romad dun as he only caught 39 passes for 526 yards and four touchdowns the drop in production led to him going into the third round as he was eventually taken with pick number 92 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers honestly he kind of had a little of a fall off in my eyes up next we have a guy who I hope I don't butcher his name but it's Edan Osio he is one of the more interesting stories of this college balll season as he actually grew up in Anchorage Alaska before he would move to Las Vegas Nevada he had such a big year at Bishop Orman high school that he was able to walk on at Washington yeah he did not actually end up having an offer this dude making his own video at some point after having a spectacular career with Washington over the next few years he was eventually drafted with pick number 160 in the fifth round by the Buffalo Bills he's a guy that you definitely don't want to doubt and someone that Washington fans will miss after that they had Dominic Hampton as he ended up going to Centennial High School in Arizona and he eventually became a three star recruit who committed to play for Washington in his first three years in 2018 19 and 20 he played in 19 total games but then he started to get even better as he started all the games in 2022 and even more in 2023 as this past season he had 109 tackles seven pass deflections and two picks he would end up appearing in a school record 57 games of the Huskies and was drafted by the Washington commanders with pick number 161 in the fifth round finally the last guy that Washington had drafted was Devin Colt he ended up coming out of Gonzaga Prep in Spokan and was both a football and basketball star he was actually so good that he was a first team All State selection and committed to Washington after flipping from Oregon he ended up red shirting as a true freshman in 2018 and would end up being limited over the next couple of years but in 2022 he broke out with 29 catches for 266 yards in 2023 he caught 16 passes for 28 yards and two touchdowns and obviously became one of the better tight end prospects in the country as he was later draft to at pick number 246 in the seventh round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so yeah Washington lost a ton of players they ended up having 10 guys drafted and not only did they lose them but they also lost a lot of key players on the team when I tell you that I'm not even joking in my opinion the top 200 transfers in the country are really worth noting and Washington ended up having nine guys enter the transfer portal Jabar Muhammad was seen as the 18th overall player in the portal and he would decide to transfer to Oregon Parker braford was the number 40 player in the portal and as an offensive lineman he transferred to Bama Michelle Powell was a four-star defensive back and a top 50 transfer and he went over to Miami and then you had Nate cppo who was number 74 who went to Old Miss Jen Hatchet an offensive lineman who went to Oklahoma Jeremy Bernard the next great receiver who transferred to Bama and then also the BigTime quarterback they signed in 2023 Austin Mack also went to Bama those seven guys were all ranked in the top 150 portal players and then from there you had landed Hatchet transfer and a SAT Turner transfer those are just the guys that were ranked highly as a ton of other players also entered the portal this was extremely frustrating for Washington fans but to put the cherry on top they lost pretty much their entire coaching staff kale and deor ended up leaving to take the head coaching job at Alabama their offensive coordinator Ryan grub would decide to become the OC for the Seattle Seahawks their tight ends coach Nick Sheridan would become the OC and QB's coach for Alabama and then finally their top end receivers coach Jamarcus sheer would leave to take the associate head coaching job at Alabama as well okay so it's been a lot of Doom and Gloom so far and yes Washington had a mass Exodus but there still is some Hope on the horizon they ended up hiring Jed fish away from Arizona as he turned the wild cats from a bottom dweller into a team that just won a huge bowl game the jury is still out on how good of a coach he is but he'll be put to the test right away they brought in Brennan Carroll who will be a first year offensive coordinator and then they brought in Steven bellich who will be in his first year DC and he's obviously the son of Bill those coaches will really have their work cut out for him and in the portal they brought in Will Rogers who is a top 50 transfer Jonah Coleman who was also a top 75 transfer and then a really good quarterback for the future in demand Williams they also grabbed Jeremiah Hunter a wide receiver from Cal Jaden Wayne a defensive lineman from Miami and Ephesians pryck ad DB from Arizona they only ended up grabbing six top 200 transfers and while the roster is filled with a lot of new transfers there is going to be a lot of work for this new coaching staff to figure out they lost arguably the most talented roster in school history sent 10 players to the NFL lost nine top 200 worthy transfers and now we'll have to pick up the pieces not really sure why I decided to make today's video it was worth highlighting just how talented this Washington team is and also how in this era of nil and portal how quickly you can lose everything it's really unfortunate from Washington but I think Jed fish is going to keep things going and maybe in a couple years Washington will Le back competing for naal championships we'll have to wait and see though but what do you guys think if you're a Washington fan what do you think of this current roster are you mad that you guys lost everything and what's another random video topic I can cover next be sure to let me know down below leave a like if you to support today's video subscribe if you're new and check out all other videos on the end screen I hope to see you guys again soon but until next time peace
