hey yo what's up YouTube man it's your boy Ashton Jackson and in today's video I'm going to be talking about the Dallas Cowboys losing to Los Angeles Chargers 26 to 19 again we don't really care about the final score really just because we're really here to see guys like Tre Lance Duce vaugh uh the running back room the wide receivers how does your defensive line play what does your linebackers look like so I'm really in these preseason games we're looking for growth and now it's on both sides of the ball and that's for both teams as well that's both for the Chargers and Dallas Cowboys as well uh you know you go back home and brag and R all other stuff that people like to do but at the end of the day it's really about progression and growth with your young guys so before we to the video I appreciate you guys like the video subscribe if you're new comment and Share my video with anyone who you think will enjoy my content [Music] man so first the first person I'm going to talk about is Tre Lance and that has been the main traction uh ever since Camp started in July and then especially since training camp and mini camp has happened and when mini camp happened around May uh June was really when uh you know the trade L talks really started to begin and it really began last year when we traded for a fourth round pick a potential running back starter running back for us um and we brought him in the Jones brought him in as to be a potential a leverage play we bought him in on the last week of the season last year uh versus the Raiders we knew he was wasn't going to play so we waited a whole year for him to come in and play and we wanted to see what he was going to look like as potentially your quarterback to um has he done enough in my opinion to earn the quarterback two spot no but I felt like he is a better uh he has a better player than Cooper rush but I think where Cooper Rush is ultimately going to win the quarterback two position is Cooper Rush has it up here compared to Tre Lance not saying Tre Lance are slow or he doesn't get or anything like that I'm not saying that but what I am saying is that he had he had five TR nerves in today's game he was 33 or 49 and then he threw for 323 passing yards he had 11 carries and 90 yards he averaged 8.2 yards a carry and he had a touchdown again if we're looking at his Russian stats he does a really good great thing at russan we already know that's what it was in training camp everyone talked about his athleticism how great he can skipe the pocket and make plays with his legs but if you want to play in the league for very long time and especially when your athleticism eventually leaves cuz you know you have your athleticism in your 20s and then by the time early 30s you start to lose it your mid-30s if you're playing quarterback in like 33 34 35 years old the athleticism eventually is gone and all you have left is your mental and your arm strength so I think Trey Lance obviously needs to get better at seeing defenses and seeing coverages and you know that's what he's going going to be doing holding the clipboard and and holding the iPad tablet and he's going to be watching a whole lot of film on the sideline this year um I think you know in a dire situation if Dak Prescott does get hurt I think we will probably either lean to Trey Lance more than we do uh Cooper rush because we know what Cooper Rush is at this point but I do think that Cooper Rush is a better quarterback but it depends if you're missing you know Dak Prescott for a few weeks you want Cooper rush but if you're losing Dak Prescott for the season you want to see what TR can do for an entire evaluation of the regular season but pray for D Prescott is going to be healthy for the rest of the season we don't have to worry about that but again Tre Lance in a preseason game having five interceptions is terrible one wasn't his fault he threw it up he threw it he hit David dur right in the face mask and the player and the defensive player just snatched out of his hand they he had one interception when he was rolling out to his right on the design roll out he threw it behind jayen Marino Cropper uh Tony Jefferson came and snatched that interception then just like training camp TR Lance will have really good drives or really consecutive good throws and then there'll be another set of plays he'll have like two plays he does a really good job escaping the pocket getting P positive yards hitting wide receiver in the middle of the field and things of that nature right then there'll be some plays where he just has boneheaded mistakes where he's throwing directly at the defender and it's like what were we looking at the receiver wasn't even open things things of that nature right so really Trey to get the ball you know Tre Lance still has to see the field better and that one intercep now talking about Jaylen maruna Cropper he rolled out to his right threw the ball late behind J maruna Cropper defens Defenders was already on him that was trance you just either take the sack you you slide you try to get a few yards with your legs as you try to do anyway just throw the ball right over Marino cropper's head and then you know then there was another play that I'm talking about yeah he did some boneheaded plays like that and then there was a play where he kept it on on a uh QB re design play and he kept it on a QB read the defender uh ran ran down and played the running back uh Tre LS kept it scored for a 39 yard score and you know right there shows the athleticism of tre Lance he can utilize his legs with the best of them but if him from the pure pocket him staying in the pocket and him breeding defenses he can't do that right now and that's fine you know he hasn't played a whole lot of football he played one full year of a Collegiate uh season he came in was a third overall pick for the 49ers and underwhelmed over there and he's over here with the Dallas Cowboys so I think if I'm Dallas Cowboys I still want to keep him around um I possibly want to sign him to maybe a multi-year deal next year not for you to be the starter but for him to be the backup and for him to potentially uh be one of these quarterbacks that figures it out in their mid 20s you know 25 26 and they figure out things of that nature and potentially they become a player right right but um that's enough for Tre LS um I think right now he's probably going to remain your quarterback three but but if he is your quarterback two I wouldn't be mad at that either because I'm not foreseeing Dak Prescott going down to in know honesty so I know this have happened before in 2022 21 uh 2020 but he was fully healthy last year with a tougher schedule you know playing a lot of physical teams and he was able to stand upright for the majority of this of the year and I was proud of that so again enough of Trey Lance going be talking about the running back standpoint du Von did really great job in his carries and his touches and his opportunities today um he had nine carries 53 yards rushing 5.9 yards on the ground he had a really nice explosive run uh for about 15 plus yards and again that's what we're looking for in this room uh Rico D Zeke Elliot they're both going to be guys that we need to use and goal to go situations when it's third and one fourth and one fourth and inches goal line and we need to punch it in that's what Zeke and Rico are going to do but I believe we need a back that can work in between the 20s that you know if we have if we seal our BLX correctly we get head on Hat type of guys and we're mauling people over and we give Duce Freeman I mean du vau uh a lot of space I think he can take it to the house and I think he has that Breakaway speed that we're so desperately needing in this uh running back room I know that we can also get that in a guy like kavante Turpin I've been hearing he you know Dallas Cowboys have been using him and utilizing him in that uh role where he's been uh touching the ball as well at running back Roy Freeman carried the ball a couple of times today uh eight times 35 yards he averaged four yards a carry that's something he's been doing throughout the entirety of his career uh Malik Davis had the ball today uh ran four five times 28 yards average 5.6 uh Gerard uh Conor Snoop Conor uh had the ball for four times uh carried uh you know had 22 yards uh rushing and averaged 5.5 yards to carry Nate Pete uh three carries 14 yards average 4.7 yards and then we had Ryan Flo on Jet Sweep that uh got four yards on that what from a receiv receiving standpoint I think John Stevens did a really good job today outside of that fumble uh that the Chargers quickly got on got into a field field goal position and then uh the Chargers kicker made a 50 plus yard field goal and made it through the uprights so other than that John Stevens was really good and they've been um involving John Stevens a lot he is going to make this roster he will be the third tight end on the roster this year so I'm not really too concerned about him uh Ryan floro looks like a real legit NFL Rod receiver he's getting open down the Red Zone you saw that now in two games straight where you know the Dallas Cowboys are throwing um back shoulder Fades and throwing goal line Fades to Ryan floro and he is making plays after play after play he's a great wide receiver has great body control great after the catch he's decent at Route running he his athleticism is is above all is one of the best in the wide receiver room already he's definitely going to be a guy that makes the 53 in my opinion because he can play special teams and he does a really great job uh playing wide receiver as well getting open great body control and things of that nature um he's a bigger body type of receiver and we need that any way in this room that when we do go down and goal line and make stacks prescotts and this offense offense's job a lot easier and they can um ease coverage off of cidd lamb once we get into the Red Zone because if it's just cidd lamb Cooks Ferguson that's still a lot you got to deal with but other than that there should be no excuse as to why uh Ryan Floyd does not make the roster he will definitely make the roster and probably would he was he has been able to do the past two games in the preseason and uh hopefully he's able to show and improve uh throughout the regular season I don't think we're gonna be calling his name a whole lot but I believe again that have Brian sha Heimer and Mike McCarthy doov some plays in the red zone to have some plays dedicated towards a guy like Ryan Forno to get some touches in the Red Zone I think we're able to do that and again he is an athlete so we can put him we can I think we can line him up at running back if we need to and put him in like a dbo Samuel type of role if we need to only one dbo Samuel there's a lot of teams that try to recreate that and there just won't be one but uh I like what ran floro can do and we're going to be able to see what his career is going to be like in Dallas again uh you know I talk about great body control he can separate he has a very great athleticism he can go up and climb the ladder and uh grab the ball and he has great hands and it's you know tough to guard him in the Red Zone uh just because I talk really great about somebody doesn't mean that I think that they're going to be this tremendous player no I think that if he can be a very solid receiver for you I think again for comparison for a lot of people to grasp and see what a play can actually be I think that if he can play that Cedric Wilson role where he's your fourth wide receiver and if if in case Jaylen toober isn't able to play because of an injury or whatever the case might be a concussion whatever the case might be he needs to step in for just one week I think Ryan fler can do really great things at wide receiver three uh RAC mcmah did his thing so did bever span forward the defense today tyus swe had a sack um Al quiden muhamad uh you know we signed him and shakuni both at the same time um once saman Williams got hurt so again bringing those guys in they both had sax tyus s and Al quaden uh Muhammad I think Tyra SED might be able to make the 53 man roster especially what he's able to do on special teams so bones fossil really likes tyus SED I think we're going to find ways to keep a guy like Tyrus s on the field and um on the team as well Mars Bell is going to be a safety I'm not worried about him making the roster uh Buddy Johnson did a really good job today with three tackles and he made a play in the Red Zone today on eastn sick when uh the Chargers were driving the ball and right before halftime it was 14- 10 and buy Johnson did a really good job on third down to B the ball down and the Chargers had to take and settle for three Buddy Johnson did some really good uh Buddy Johnson did some really good things today in preseason to really uh found upon and really to see that um he can make his case for the 53 man roster uh Julius wood is somebody I believe that we need to find any which way to uh make this roster he had an interception today he's been making plays all throughout the preseason whether it was he has a pick in the the last three games he's had an interception or has made a very big play and he had a and that's what we need in this uh DB room that's what we have been hopping on ever since Al Harris has been here and then ever since Dan Quinn also was here for the past two years and he ended up leaving uh you know my bad the past three years I'm sorry cuz he's been here since 2021 he just left right so we've been Haring on inter I in if we have another guy that can take the ball away at the safety position we need to keep him around so I think having a guy like Julius wood I think what they're probably going to do is stash IR injury stash him to make sure that he doesn't test waivers because if you want to make the practice squad we're initially going have to cut you off the fifth three man roster and if you clear waivers then we can add you to the practice squad I think Julius Uh Wood is not going to be a guy that clears waivers because there going to be so many teams are going to want him whether that's whether that's in your own division whether that's your conference opponent you have to play I.E Falcons Niners Lions Packers right Giants might want Giants might need another safety there's so many playoff teams that need safeties and that are looking for safety help and they're looking for young guys to fill in that position and having a guy like Julius wood they will absolutely love to have a 61 62 safety that isn't afraid to hit isn't afraid to tackle can make plays on the ball at such a young age and he was how look how quick he was able to pick up this defense so I think picking up a guy like Julius wood was a really good um addition by Will mlay and The Scouting department and stepen Jones but again I think we need to fin angle the roster and we need to put some things together and see if he can either make the 53 a man roster in terms of actually making the 53 and not having to get cut to make it a practice squad cuz he will not especially with a safety again as his stature uh you know the measurables I just gave you and him having three interceptions in three games straight in the preseason that is remarkable for young safety so uh we need to keep him around by any means necessary Albert Huggins did solid today as well Andrew boo did a really good job today in coverage he got beat on a couple deep passes that's what's been happening to him uh last week it was versus the Raiders he had a uh gave up a big pass but other than that he does a really great job on short and intermediate type of plays he's making plays on the ball he's breaking up a lot of different passes he's physical in the Run game and that's again that's something that these defensive coaches they love if you can go out and you're a corner that isn't afraid to tackle you can play for any defensive back coach or any defensive coordinator in the entire league or just Collegiate XFL uh CFL you can play corner for anybody in the league or in pro professional football if you're not afraid to tackle and I think Andrew boo is one of those guys so I'm really proud of he's able to do uh vami foko did not have a good game I'm not really going to harp on him too much he just can't play The Edge and when uh you have him in open space he's not able to make a tack but he cannot beat anybody to the sideline um he does not look good at all this is definitely somebody that I believe will not make the roster now darus Harr is was a a linebacker that we signed in the free agent Market uh right before the Rams joint practice so right before week one and we were low on linebackers CU we didn't want de Marvin overshown um Maris l playing a whole lot of snaps that we brought in darus Harris and Nick vigil for the new Dynamic kickoff and then also to be a relief guy for you know guys like Maris Lou and demarvin overon so again I think Nick vigil might be able to make the roster as like a teams uh maybe depends on how many linebackers we carry I think we might carry five or six linebackers but I don't know cuz I think that you're not going to be able to carry six guys at so many different positions like if we were going to carry six at any position I think it would be wide receiver linebacker and then corner I think the other possible six we can go deep at is probably defensive line and the biggest I think we go in safety is really just going to be four people I think we're just going to be able to get Donovan Wilson mares Bill Malik hooker and W I think those are going to be your four safeties so we're going to talk about the roster more in depth later in another video U Malik Davis is going to be a practice squad top guy Matt Wesco I don't see him making the practice squad or not I mean he he looks like another P practice squad or a guy that just gets flat out cut uh Justin Rogers had a solid game today Denzel daxon had a half a sack in today's game I saw that as well and uh Eric Scott Jr uh did a really good job today in coverage and really that's about it for the video man I was really proud of guys um like Denzel daxon Andrew Booth Julius wood of course making plays again tyus s made a play Al quaden muhamed made a play Buddy Johnson made a play who else made a play today in today's game that was impactful Ryan forer was solid in today's game so was Stevens and Reverend span for Duce vongh had a hell of a performance running the ball at the running back position Royce Freeman was solid just Mr consistent that's about it TR L needs to get better at seeing the field but he's going to be able to do that seeing another year behind Dak Prescott so that's about it for the video hope hopefully you guys have a nice day stay safe stay blessed bye
