they have fear a lot of fears going on right now some of them are talking about living swanfield some of them are scar for the life it's a little bit tough for us the the main reason for Asian people to be here in Springfield is the job opportunities and Springfield is Affordable I knew the places they were talking about uh I know the neighborhoods that they're talking about I've lived uh on Southern and South Fountain just a few blocks that way for for a couple years um I you know I I know what goes on in Snyder Park I know that there's ducks and geese all year long and and and then to hear that people are feeding off of those wild animals it's Preposterous everybody should have a chance to you know be free and come to America and experience cuz not it's not all bad you know what I mean um there's a lot of advantages that you could take from it and stuff like that I just feel like if they're going to give this much benefits and support to foreigners it should be the same as for ones that are here living here fighting for the country I would have loved to see more of our local governments to step up and say something about this I would love to see more of our federal governments to stand up and say something I would love to see more of our leaders local leaders haian leaders African-Americans to say something cuz I'm I'm watching today's Haitians tomorrow may be billboard in the Phoenix area that says eat less kittens vote Republican the billboard features four kittens uh wearing cow costumes in the style of a Chick-fil-A ad and uh while it might not explain itself if you were watching a presidential debate between H former president Donald Trump and vice president kamla Harris you would have heard uh Donald Trump mention that Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio are eating people's cats and pets which is a false statement that um has been gaining traction particularly in Republican and more conservative um social media circles online so the eat less kittens ad connects to um what we've seen from former president Donald Trump before using anti- immigrant rhetoric connecting immigrants who are coming into the country to uh sort of frankly bizarre behavior um suggesting that unamerican behavior that that these immigrants are eating cats the immigrants in Springfield Ohio the city says first of all that that this behavior is there's no evidence of this Behavior there have been no credible or specific reports of this behavior in Ohio and furthermore the immigrants the city says that are in uh spring field are there legally through a federal program to allow uh people from Haiti because of the uh uh circumstances in that country to come to the United States legally there is another part of the controversy that is gained traction online that appears to show police body cam video of an arrest of a woman um Canton Ohio Police Canton which is 175 miles about 280 km from Springfield Ohio um have charged this woman with torturing killing and eating a cat the woman is not a haian immigrant and the police department hasn't answered questions about what happened in this instance or why they think this woman um is being why this woman engaged in this behavior that she's charged with the EP has reached out to This Woman's lawyers um who have not responded to questions about what happened in this particular case um but what you're seeing online is um social media accounts linking this video to the Haitian immigrant population in Springfield Ohio and suggesting that uh this bizarre behavior um unusual behavior is actually
