YOU KNOW, SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING CONVERSATIONS NOW. YOU HEAR LITTLE COUGHING HERE, A LITTLE SNEEZE THERE, AND YOU'RE LIKE, OH, IT'S ABOUT THAT SEASON. HOW IS THIS NEW COVID VACCINE? LET'S START THERE FIRST. HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS ONES? SO THE NEW FORMULATED COVID VACCINE JUST CAME OUT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. THE VACCINE DOES ENHANCE AND PROTECT AGAINST VARIOUS VARIANTS OF THE COVID 19 VIRUS. THAT'S CAUSING INFECTIONS AND HOSPITALIZATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES. SO THIS VACCINE, JUST LIKE HOW THE FLU VACCINE GETS UPDATED EVERY YEAR BASED ON NEW STRAINS, THE COVID VACCINE HAS BEEN UPDATED AS WELL TO GIVE US THAT BEST PROTECTION. THERE ARE THREE COVID VACCINES THAT HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY MODERNA, PFIZER AND NOVAVAX THAT CAN ALL PROTECT YOU AGAINST THE COVID 19 VIRUS. DO YOU RECOMMEND IF WE GOT ONE OF THOSE BRANDS BEFORE THAT WE STAY WITH THAT BRAND, OR DOES IT MATTER? NO, THAT RIGHT NOW THERE'S NO PREFERENCE OVER WHICH VACCINE TO GET. GETTING VACCINATED IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. OKAY. ALL RIGHT OKAY. SO WHO IS RECOMMENDED TO GET VACCINATED. AND AT WHAT POINT DO WE NEED TO GET VACCINATED. SO RIGHT NOW IT'S A UNIVERSAL RECOMMENDATION THAT ALL PATIENTS OVER THE AGE OF SIX MONTHS GET VACCINATED FOR THE COVID 19 VIRUS. IF YOU'VE PREVIOUSLY BEEN VACCINATED RECENTLY, I WOULD WAIT TWO MONTHS BEFORE GETTING THE NEWER VACCINE. AND IF YOU'VE BEEN INFECTED WITH COVID RECENTLY, THE RECOMMENDATION IS TO WAIT AT LEAST THREE MONTHS. BUT IT DOES TAKE UP TO TWO WEEKS TO BUILD UP THAT IMMUNITY. SO IT'S BEST TO GET VACCINATED EARLY AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY. DO YOU THINK THIS IS JUST THE WAY OF THE WORLD NOW? JUST LIKE WITH FLU VACCINES, THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE GETTING THE COVID VACCINE? AND CAN YOU TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT GETTING THEM AT THE SAME TIME? YES SO IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BE A SEASONAL THING, JUST LIKE SINCE THE MUTATIONS OF THE COVID 19 VIRUS ARE TAKING PLACE, THE FLU VACCINE AND THE COVID VACCINE WILL BE FORMULATED TO ADJUST TO THOSE PERIODS. AND RIGHT NOW, IN THE PHARMACY WE'VE BEEN HAVING PATIENTS COME IN TO GET MULTIPLE VACCINES AT ONCE, WHICH IS NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL. YOU CAN GET A COVID VACCINE AND A FLU VACCINE IN THE SAME ARM, OR SEPARATE ARMS AS YOU CHOOSE. AND AS WE GO INTO RESPIRATORY ILLNESS SEASON, IT'S GREAT TO GET A COVID VACCINE, A FLU VACCINE AND AN RSV VACCINE. IF YOU'RE 60 OR OVER 60 AND HAVE A RISK FACTOR OR ALL 75 AND UP, PATIENTS ARE RECOMMENDED TO GET THE RSV VACCINE AS WELL. SO YES, WE DO OFFER THOSE RESPIRATORY VACCINES HERE AT CVS AND AT YOUR LOCAL PHARMACIES ALONG WITH A WIDE ARRAY OF OTHER VACCINES, AS WELL. AND DO WE NEED TO COME IN BY OURSELVES, LIKE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT OR CAN WE BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY IN AT ONCE? SO WALK INS ARE WELCOME, BUT THE CVS APP ALSO HAS A GROUP SCHEDULING SYSTEM, SO I HAVE FOUR DAUGHTERS MYSELF. I CAN MAKE A GROUP APPOINTMENT FOR UP TO FOUR PEOPLE. I CAN MAKE ALL OF THEIR APPOINTMENTS ALL AT ONCE AND BRING THEM ALL TO GET VACCINATED. FOR ALL THE VACCINES THAT ARE INDICATED FOR THEM. OKAY, SO IT'S SUPER CONVENIENT. THAT'S GOOD. YOU ALL HAVE MADE IT CONVENIENT BECAUSE WHEN YOU START HEARING THAT COUGHING AND SNEEZING
