today we have NFL star running back Deontay Foreman from the Cleveland Browns which is also a tech City legend that I grew up watching playing football and basketball with his twin brother that was able to go and do great things and he's actually still now a NFL running back man so I was I was able to get him in and talk to him and just have some conversations and put him on the clock how you doing today Deontay man I'm good man just blessed thankful you feel man I it it's so good to have you cuz I know you in between uh Seasons right now you're getting ready to go back to training camp and all that so I appreciate you man we just collabed and done an event for the youngsters man and I know you was telling me you know how how God was pulling your heart towards that uh tell the people who Deontay Foreman is and where he come from please I mean [Music] um I just feel like man I'm really just a chill laidback person for real um you know strong minded um you know I care about my people care about my community where I come from um you know I'm a person who you know stand up for what I believe in you know what I'm saying like I'm going to war about anything that I care about and know you know other than that I just try to stay out the way and handle my business for real take care of my kids take care of my family it's about it that's it man that's so good uh I I know you got a twin brother and y'all both play football like I say I grew up with you so I I I know all the ins and out and all of that man so a lot of people you know they kind of know the story and just kind of understanding the story could you just break down and tell the people how it actually all happened about your brother and you remember cuz y'all was getting ready to go play and I think Alabama said hey we want him but but then you turned it around and was able to go and you know do the things you needed to do I basically want to show people like when something is for you no matter how it happened you going to get it you feel me so I just want you to give them the story of how that whole College thing happened yeah um I mean so really it was just a little bit of um you know um I mean my brother he was Dynamic you feel me like at the end of the day like he was one of the ones like you know when when a play need to be made he going to make it we know like anything you throw up to him he going to get it you know what I'm saying and whatever wherever you put him at whether it's at quarterback receiver running back whatever he going to make a play like P return kick return whatever like you know and we know that so um I think my brother was deserving of everything he got you know what I'm saying and um you know he he deserved every every Accolade that he got but I feel like um at that point in time for me like I feel like I had numbers and I was doing everything uh that I need to do but I just wasn't taking care of all my stuff off the field for real um so that that played a big part for me early on and then honestly um you know like I said my brother deserved what he was getting so you know at that point it was just kind of you know kind of sit back you know let him let him get his and you know what I'm saying when mine come I take advantage and I feel like it did motivate me um you know to go out there and try to go as hard and prove myself prove who I was show the world that uh you know what I had to but I feel like it wasn't never for us it wasn't never like who like I wasn't good or he was better I was better we always knew what we both brought to the table we live in the same household you know what I'm saying but I just feel like when it come down to like stars and certain stuff like that like I mean the people going to rank you how they want to rank you like to me none of that don't really matter like at the end of the day like so I feel like you know he handled his business he was on he was more on top of his grade situation you to at at the time as well so like I say he deserved everything he was getting me I wouldn't I wasn't technically ready to go do what I needed to do because my grade situation it wasn't that I Ain had the athletic ability to do it I just I just wasn't right you know on the school side of things and you know like I say it was just it motivated me when I started seeing him getting offers and you know what I'm saying uh actually the U coach he came up to the school and uh you know pretty much off of my brother in front of me you feel me like he talking to both of us but he telling my brother like hey like you know what I'm saying like like you know you got all this and that we want you whatever and my brother kind of confused he was like man like did he offer me I don't know if that's an offer or not he told me to call him later on so he call him after school I'm walking with him he on the phone with him and he tell him like you know like yeah like this a offer like I'm offering you I'm right there like hearing the more speaker so like I was happy for bro like you feel me at the end of the day but it did drive me though it was like bro he can do it I know I'm G do it like I gotta do it but it just opened my eyes to understand like bro you got to get everything together you feel me like bro bro in a better position than you is right now you feel me and he cut like that it ain't just that you feel me and he cut like that you feel me so you gota you know you got to respect that you know what I'm saying and like so at the end of the day like I said it motivated me drive me push me you feel me and uh you know so I feel like once I start getting everything together and I start getting my motion right you feel me like you know everything just start taking off I feel like my senior year was crazy you know what I'm saying and like that was just a whole bunch of like everything built up like man I'm about to show the world I'm that like you feel me like I'mma show the world and so you know that was just a little bit me and my brother argu I'm telling them like bro like I'm going to be the best thing on the team no matter how it go like I'm telling you and uh you know so anyway fast forward we get to college and um you know just things just you know I don't know I can't even really explain it bro like college was crazy like yeah cause cause cause I I'm honest to guard truth I've always been a Texas Fan simply because you remember when Eric irvis Tyrone and Germaine all went that was my class right so while they playing basketball and going to school I'm in the stands hustling doing whatever I do but that was still my class so when all four of them went to Texas I became a longhorn fan I love the Longhorns so when y'all went to the longhorn I'm like oh already B and I'm not going to lie bro like that last year I think you came out with your junior year when you won the dop walk award uh like I don't know what you had on your chest but like you you was a about it I was able to get some tickets from ever ever Ross earlier that year me and I brought both of my sons we got to come down there got to see you play man and and uh y'all was y'all y'all was the truth y'all you still the truth I know your brother he's still playing the wing man for you doing the different things outside of uh football but I know one thing about it them twins gonna always stick together man so let me ask you something uh so once you did go where you went got what got what you got and and this this is a real question I I need a real answer cuz one day I'm going be in this position you feel me so I'm going need to know how to navigate right so when you really when you really got the money like got the money did it give you like a sense of feeling like you had to take care of people simply because you had the money or you feel like you know what these are the people that's been around me cuz I'm not going to even lie and my wife tell me I need to stop it and I need to chill but I tell my wife all the time I'mma have a six month to a year basis where will where have we been at in the last six months to a year and wherever we was at that's where we at the only person going to get a pass is my mama that's it anybody else they gonna be like so you know what I'm saying so what happened to you when you actually signed that contract and you knew that them zeros was hitting the bank how did that make you feel because you know we come from nothing I know where you come from sure um I mean man that see that's a great question cuz see I think that's a lot of the side that people don't talk about that that's not really like expressed enough like you know what I'm saying like um you know what you do when that time come and then you got all these different people you got mama daddy uh grandma grandpa uh you know what I'm saying aunties uncles you feel me you got your homeboys you got you know your brothers your sisters you feel me you got all these people and you got the people who just been there supporting you that G come and ask you for something you know what I'm saying like you got all this you feel me and then you 21 years old you feel me and you got to make all these decisions like it really changed like people people act like bro it changed who you are but it really don't change you it do change you honestly it do change you but everybody else changes as well like bro when I was when I was 19 years old you feel me 20 20 19 years old bro was nobody come to ask me they if they is asking me for any money bro it ain't nothing compared to what you asking me for now yeah you feel me but then as I'm going through the process I'm going through all these uh NFL uh you know the combine and talking to all these former athletes and talking to all these different people as I'm training for the combine and they and everybody telling you like hey save your money save your money you can't be doing this for everybody you can't be doing that for everybody you can't do this and that for everybody and they and they giving you the game but but when you young when you young it's like man I don't want I don't want nobody look at me like I ain't real like I don't do this like I don't do that you feel me cuz that's the that's the whole narrative is like man like if you ain't come back and take like you feel me you a you ain't 100 and it's like all right so you feel me so you go through a process of you know to to a certain degree feeling like yeah like I got to do this I got to do that and I feel like a lot of people who really know the backstory and know just everything that I done been through and situations like I think um you know they they'll be able to tell you like bro like I lost a lot bro like I lost a lot bro like you gotta understand I I know some of the background stuff we not going to say no names but certain people was getting jammed up with some big cases that regular money can't get them out and but because they you know you kind of looked up to them as your OG and stuff like that you looked out for a lot of people you've done this for a lot of people and I don't think the strain people understand strain that it put on you cuz you're feeling like hey man I'm just being real I'm keeping it 100 cuz this is who I am this is how I'm cut now realizing that a lot of people pulling simply because it's a lever to be pulled right when the lever ain't always been there like I'm at the point to where now man I need you to be pulling my level now like I need you to be seeing where I'm at now you feel what I'm saying and so after you got what you got and you did what you did and you got to see all of that right in in in your hearts of Hearts how did that start making you move I mean I had to change as I got older like you know what I'm saying if you stay the same as you get older and more mature more wiser and it's like you know what I'm saying like I tell people all the time like and I say this humbly I've been having money you feel me since I've been 21 years old like I'm 28 you feel me so like at the end of the day like bro I'm going go through my trials and tribulations I was young correct feel me I made a bunch mistakes you feel me like I feel like you know it it I I made a bunch of mistakes but I feel like I was very generous too like very over overly generous you feel me like speak I ain't going lie I was like Dam he passing that like that you know what I'm saying I'mma do something with it I'm overly generous you feel me you feel me and like like at the end of the day like one thing I I stand on is like bro like people people see me in my community bro like since day one like Len I'm in the I'm I'm in there I'm I'm back where I'm from all the time bro like you feel me like I'm not hiding or nothing I'm like I'm in my cars whatever I'm doing like you feel me but it's just like I just move like how I move I ain't in nobody wait like you feel me I league coaches whoever like you know teachers whoever like bro like money is the going to do what they want to do to a certain degree they going to do what they want to do they going to operate how they going to operate you feel me you can ask my teammates growing up bro like bro like they going to kind of do what they want to do to a degree but it's like bro but you got to understand like the way I was brought up like how my daddy like instilled certain stuff in US is like bro like when you when you got certain responsibility bro like you feel me like that come with a lot like you feel me he always used to tell us that like you feel me like to whom much is uh given much required you feel me he used to always tell us that you feel me and it's like so ever since we was little kids so like I was man that's crazy I was just like running it last night and I was uh telling them like man like bro like um I was telling them like man the way we was bred like brought up the way the way like it was really instilled in US is like what people don't really understand is like man like my mama my daddy like really my daddy I'm going say really my daddy for real but like he was really like a person who like always like like made us know and understand like hey like with y'all ability with y'all got given to y'all with G gay y'all bro y'all are different y'all are different and y'all got to act different and move different and he been he been preaching that to us as we been kids so when we so when we walk around with that different we come we like we got that or and that swag about us is that that's cuz that's how we was built that's how we was raised like we don't really know no better and the thing is like people take that presence in that or and they like look at them they you know what I'm saying they feel like they better no this just how we living and this is what it's always been since we've been kids and you know and and that's what I don't know it's like it's just it's just a blessing that I made it to where I made it to bro you feel me and like I don't take that for granted I don't act like because I'm who I am I'm better than nobody I'm still around where I'm from all the time even being who I am you feel me and like I'm not around like bro but I'm going be me though every day of the week like and I'm not tripping on nothing at all cuz I know how I move bro I move with respect I'm not worried about nobody or nothing like you feel me but at the end of the day is like don't take how we coming and how we moving as like oh we we better we feel like we n this just how this just what it is this what come with us you feel me and this just like this just what it is is we we not hiding who he is like I understand like I got I'm a little flamboy and I got then you know he got the trucking company built and then you know rest in peace to his soul Derek foring man he he was a great guy man just a pivot a little bit man when that happened just just walk me through that for a few minutes man and if it's too hard then I get it but I just want the people to to realize how real you are you're a real person that found that gift and took off with it and now we call you a celebrity you're a Allstar running back I and the thing is crazy cuz I don't even look at myself like that bro for real I know I just it just this is how I am like this is how I'm and my thing is like when you see we out there being good in league and we and my daddy telling us like y'all go y'all could go do that like y'all could be he used to tell us they used to tell us like man y'all could be y'all can play varsity and sophomores and stuff like that and like we used to be like like all right but as we got as we start cuz that wasn't like people wern't playing VAR so as we start getting closer and closer oh it's it's really real than that we could really we can do this n you feel me and it's like so you just you just start to see like man he was always telling the challenging us since we've been kids you feel me and it's like you know you got to respect that cuz now it's like it's like we expect certain stuff we operate on a certain type of time cuz this is like this is what you going to get you feel me and it's like so I say like really just losing him was like crazy cuz I just sit around I think about him a lot and just you know wish that we could just talk about you know all type of stuff even the recent stuff that I been through like you know all type of issues and situations and stuff that I just wish we could run it we probably going to bump heads about some of the St that's just how we is but at the end of the day like I respect my daddy bro that's my daddy I love him to death like you feel me at the end of the day like you know like when he talking I'm listening like you know I'm hot like I'm like man bro but but you can't help but hear him cuz like he been right a lot a lot he been right a lot he been through man you got to so you know but I just feel like once once we got to a certain point and I got to a point in my life where I feel like man like ain't none of us been here a none of us been here so now you kind of got to let me you kind of got to let me figure it out dog cuz like I'm already I'm already in the in a boss type of mentality anyway cuz like this how I've been raised up like I've been raised like speak up think is like so with that you got to learn like you know what I'm saying you got to learn it's like like I say losing him it's like man I had to do a lot more learning a lot more understanding a lot more digging deep into who I am and myself because of you know the situation like I can't go I can't call my daddy no more you feel me I can't call Pops and be like hey look like man look man I'm just I'm I'm having a hard time right now just talk to me you feel me give me some game give me something yeah you feel me like I can't do that so right now it's like me me and my brother me and my twin bro we like this like like you feel me we run it like all the time and it's like we really talk about real life situations all the time we we talk about everything so it's like can't nobody tell me feel me cuz it's only really as as I start getting older like I start to realize like bro like man some people going to be there for the moment some people going to be there to you going to learn say like you feel me cuz at the end of the day like I work hard for everything I ever got nobody ever handed me nothing nothing I done broke limbs bones ligaments kiles I had to relearn how to walk again to come play the game that I love I had to relearn how to walk like ain't nobody like people don't talk about that part of it though like in the midst of like still trying to take care of people and make sure everything good I'm you going have your job I don't even know I don't even know if I'mma have a job you feel me and everybody still looking at me like what I ain't doing how he ain't doing it bro do you see me bro do you know what what my profession is you know this game don't last long bro so to be where I'm at today bro you feel me that was a hard that's a lot of hard work bro you feel me at the end of the day and don't get me wrong like I'm blessed bro I'm blessed I know that I've been blessed like I've been blessed you feel me when I walked in the room y'all felt that like the people some people and it I I just feel like really depending on where you at in your life I feel like that's how it's going to that's how you going to take where I'm in mine you feel me at this here you motivate me God is no respect of a person and I'm going tell you like this this why I don't walk around like I'm better than nobody else when I come home you feel me I just am who I am but at the end of the day because I'm around people every day of the week who got more money than me yes yes all the time and they stupid millionaires bro and I'm looking at them like I got to go get some more money bro you feel me I got to get some more money I was just talking to Bro the other day like bro I got I I just text about the blue like man I gotta go get some more money bro you feel me but it's just because it's just like bro like I know what we dream of I know what we desire bro you feel me and I feel like bro bro didn't make it fully all the way to where he wanted to go and that's life that happen BR that happened to a lot of people but at the end of the day he was able to go get a degree out of it I respect I saw him walk across that stage I even got I saw him walk across that so he doing something that I ain't never did before so I motivate me like man you got to go get that paper bro feel me at the end of the day you did all this you went got the you would got the money you would got the the the blues but you feel me you got to go get that you got to go get that diploma bro you got to go get it and my thing is like just seeing him do that in that moment bro that was so cool to me bro like literally I'm literally up there like bro like all the accomplish we don't want everything we done done bro to see my boy walk across the stage with a University of Texas degree bro I don't care what is it bro bro you turned up bro you turned up bro and I and like bro I tell him bro like that's what I'm saying bro like at the end of the day is like we motivate each other we always done that we always going to do that you feel me at the end of the day and it's like to see what to see what broen came too like he went through his problem too he went through his stages you feel me where you know he had to he had to get right cuz his whole mind he was bred to go be a certain person and be a certain way too so it's like I understand that so it's like bro like when I do something bro coming with me ab and and as we done got older we start to realize like man bro we don't need nobody else we me and bro can go wherever we want to go in the world and go have a great time oh trust me I I I saw some of your Instagram just we going have a great time just me and bro we don't need nobody else you feel me that just and that just what it is and like like what I'm saying boy level it's like man every little mistake matter no matter what you feel me everything count bro they not playing and you got to go out there and go the next man up and you got to go be that and that's the thing is like bro I'm going into the year eight bro like that's a blessing bro at the end of the day bro that's crazy with everything I've been through yeah all the injuries and all the setbacks and everything that I've been through bro I'm still going in the year eight bro let me call it right now I'm going to call it right now come on man last year around the same time I got I bought a bunch of your rookie Co cards from ishmail remember I came to your mama house I hunted you down I got you to sign all my rookie cards I still got your rookie football that you signed for me when you play for the Texas I got all of that I need a few jerseys but we stood in your mama kitchen and I prayed for you you remember that mm this year I'm calling it I see it you're a dog they done put a dog in the dog pound right you got some intricate part around you to take some of the focus off of you and we've learned from some of the other places you've been feed me feed the monkey and watch him he going to do it and you've been showing that for sure and I know with eight year because seven is the year completion eight is the year of what Pastor new begin new beginnning right this is fixing to be the year that you're going to be able to sit sit back and get that big million dollar contract multi-million dollar contract that you've been seeing that you I'm calling it right now so when when they sign it and you get it say man I need to call my boy doc get on the clock with Doc cuz he called it yeah n for sure I mean you know like I say man um it's a blessing like you feel me and I don't take it for granted and when I was younger I really used to take these moments for granted like they just come to everybody every day like but it's like you got to go through something you got to you got to see it almost be taken from you and you got to you got to understand what it's like to crawl back into it like when I say I'm crawling back into it like I'm talking about workout after workout like people don't understand bro literally I'm at the house and they can call me any day of the week and tell me hey come on right now we need you to come up here and come work out for us whatever whatever and it's like man this what you say you want to do you got to get up get on the flight be on time everything and they just call me 2 hours 3 hours before it's time for me to you feel me yeah they like or or I might get a day in that van two days in that van maybe you feel me and like so it's like come on bro like I'm really crawling back into the league when I got my opportunity to get back in the league it was like now and never when I got my opportunity to get back in the league I had to battle with ap you feel me n don't get it twisted AP was on his last leg to a degree you feel me I'mma keep it 100 but at the end of the day when you walk in the building and you walk in the room and you see like man this you and AP bro you got to go be better than him right now you feel me like that's when you understand like bro ain't no game like it ain't no game at all bro and it's like you know I made the best of my situation you feel me when I went to Tennessee I made the best of that situation bro and it just prepared me to go do you know do other things and when I got the Carolina same thing like when I got my opportunity bro that's all ID be asking for that's all i' be asking for just give me the ball give me the opportunity to show you cuz I'm going to show you and like and like at the end of the day it's like man they can say what they want to say but go look at my numbers when I play compared to the rest of the league when we when they playing you feel me and just go see where I compare to them you feel me like yeah when you look at the years I've been in League compared to what I yeah cuz I done been through a lot but when you go pull a lot when I'm really playing and go put me up against everybody else just go show me where I can PIR to him at bro that's all I'm going say like at the end of the day I know what I bring to the table bro you feel me at the end of the day and like all I'm doing is getting better each and every year each and every day like I'm growing like you feel me I'm eating better you feel me like you know I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm waking up every day giving myself more positive thoughts you feel me understanding out of there work on your habits right now definitely if you within the within the age of 13 18 bro get on your habits right now bro like start changing bro start understanding like the decisions you ain't got to have all the money in the world just just be able to be comfortable enough to do what you want to do when you want to do it bro period you feel me so however much money that is for you
