it's Labor Day weekend on Labor Day we celebrate Labor and the fact that we get to have a job what's that you said Labor Day is meant to celebrate laborers and not labor you said it was a national holiday established to celebrate labor unions in the working class including the immigrants who built this country but you're saying that businesses such as bars restaurants and grocery stores take advantage of the holiday to offer deals and promotions that encourage foot traffic and spending leading to a heavier workload and extended hours for the workers the holiday is meant to celebrate you said even in our attempt to celebrate the working class we can't help but exploit them what was once crumbs of gratitude they called cake and confetti have been reduced down to nothing oh well happy labor day now get back to work
