trying to swing out more early on in this match than she did in the previous matches that's a good sign that would be my advice to her try and get some of those nerves out early on by driving her the sort of balance for you in your career there did you did you work through that at a major can you work through it at a major ideally yes but you have to believe you can right and that's the one shift in the mindset from golf in this match compared to her first two she is being much more proactive she always been so fast today she's actually working on taking shots a little earlier cutting the angle off she was waiting for the shots in her first couple of matches here different ball isn't it from the one against Tatiana Maria of course who almost exclusively hit slice for the most part from the back so was AA really trying to generate her own pace out there a couple of days ago that's a pattern spling to set up and and started this match with a good tactic which was go to the backhand go to the stronger side maybe early on maybe that opens up the weaker side and that is the forehand of GF for some of the bigger points game SZ so good hold from Switz strong start to this third round match on played a lot of tennis already this year and it's got 54 matches already in sing and it's one of the reasons why she's decided actually just to give the doubles a bit of a rest in from Selina first backhand winner there's no question golf is serving much better so far today averaging 115 mph that is huge in her previous two matches she averaged 106 and 103 so definitely getting much more Pace on her serve then you pointed out to me just a moment or two ago you feel there's a bit more off the ground and we can confirm that as well with a little bit more Pace the American today a little more M her forehand speed so far in this match is up by 7 mph that is a big shift in the mindset of golf out here sometimes when you're not playing the best you start to buy into maybe what your coaches are telling you and there's no question golf is being much more proactive and aggressive out here today 14 so hard to win when one of your biggest weapons isn't there and this was really the one shot that she was relying so much on last year at the US Open and Nick out of nowhere it's back 118 again to save a break point that was a l she didn't hear it but she still has it Coco 15 wow couple of errors in this game from Spina over the Baseline this is the maybe the momentum switch that g was looking to get with that set break game few more first serves landed in that game first game second six four of five in fact will always help the course they're pry big ball Strikers aren't they all both those players has at times been the the problem for her she has been a little overrun 15 [Applause] love you'd like to see a little higher up the cours for the second return I think one of the worst shots that SPID alinaa has is that second serve but when you see your opponent five or six feet behind the Baseline going to return it kind of feel a little bit less pressure Koko does take a step or two in F winning 15 thir almost of her second serve points that's a high number that's something you want to try and take away if you're golf 135 SP L defends her serve well because she moves well she absorbs Pace well but she can't get frustrated when somebody's inside the Baseline you talk about the players who have beaten her wow that was a good overhead from a tricky position looking into the Sun as well 15 games Vina one game all second set hard to overstate the obvious challenges that so many of the Ukrainian players have had as well to deal with over the last couple of years fine is kind of in many ways sort of taken a leadership role isn't she given her forehand today surprisingly that's been the more reliable shot for Goff 11 backhand errors that is the eight forand another back hand but a much different second serve than what we've been seeing that serve here oh one of her best returns up 113 M hour first serve just like that from 405 up great opportunity for Spina in this second set well as good as that shot is you did feel that was ambitious every point on their feet and clapping loud fen's Camp pretty chill today unfortunate looks as though it might be landing in with the diversion didn't do her any favors go on second set first set either in her speed so Spina so far in this match has found that balance of going for her shots a better backand from off a little bit more height over the net 15 [Applause] 1 15 much more authoritative return V was on the back and what a difference the mentality makes for GF not waiting for those second serve returns as much as she was in the first not to the first there either 1 getting caught deep not recovering 1 15 of course those three comeback wins she had last year over Sigman in the first round was a set down to Merton's remember at this stage as well in the third or was it it was 1540 lens as you say in that game in the second set yeah feels as though it's been a fairly pivotal moment wow what is going on with FDL serve in this third set four double Falls yeah can't buy a first either as you would expect completely out of rhythm with her serve no problems with the two-hander there and has at times today looked to be a little Brickle but the consistency may other end of the court for G who really dug deep to turn this match around at two all in the second the brink of going down a set in a break more frugal as well than the unforced error count in this that for Goof in terms of just building a bit of confidence that maybe was missing coming in a huge difference from the level that we saw 36 hours ago from golf to what we're seeing here today it's not easy for these players either 13 or 14-day tournament you're going to have days where you don't play well you're going to have moments of Doubt 1 can't win a major in the first week you got to
