gosh I can't wait to see well your kid is Gonna Come and he'll have all his own struggles too from being Kelly Slater's child which is screwed up you know because you want to have this perfect life and then it's funny CU my kids are like oh my dad's a c you know and so it's it's ironic that all a sudden you have these children and then they're like oh the only people that like they look up to you but it's kind of like it's really interesting so that'll be funny to watch I was texting I was texting with a friend of mine yesterday his name is Charles how III and he's a pro golfer and he's like the and he's not a really it's funny because he's not one of the biggest names in golf but he's top 10 money earners of all time he's just like this consistent amazing player and uh he lives in Florida but he's from Georgia but he he didn't serve but he he and I become friends over the years and his son's surfed a little bit and um he's become friends with Gelman as well and um um he's just I was texting him yesterday I said you know I really want to spend some time with you over the next few years because he's such a good dad and his kids love and respect him so much and like listen to him and and he's not like a heavy-handed dad he's just like he's taught them really great manners his he a son and a daughter and they just like they want to be around him and they they love him and I was just like that's such a great quality to see when kids really love their parents you know and um I I I think that's all parents really want is for their kids to like love and respect them and and and care about them you know so it's it's a it's a it's a real I mean you know better than me but it's a a real special time in life to better yourself and um and and you know set the future for someone else well it's it definitely is humbling It's Made Me aund % better of a person and then I can also say that living for something else and thinking about something else is just it's the greatest um but just watching them walk off to school when I drop them off or pick them up there's I mean there's so many joys in life but those just come and go so fast and I feel like if you're uh you know if you're committed 100% if you have the capabilities financially and mentally and you know you're a family unit I feel like it's hard to fail but it's the one thing if you do fail I feel like you'll roll in your grave where that's just me personally and I have kids a little older but uh but then there's all the peer pressure and all the different trials and you know you're trying to tell them like not to do this and don't eat that and they're just looking at you but Dad we're at a birthday party it's like like No And so birthday parties are the worst thing ever created um because you got to go against all your morals and codes like I love I love that qu well it's like everything you try and do at home oh that and Christmas too which I love Christmas I love holidays but you tell them not to lie and then you're like outside sneaking presents by putting out milk for Santa and like you just live this extravagant Li during Christmas and and then it's like keeping keeping the LIE going oh yeah but it's like everything you're like don't lie don't lie and then it's just like I don't know it's funny and then you're just totally lying trying to give them all these false hopes and so parenting is there's no right way everybody does it different but uh as long as your kids for me I just hope my kids have respect to other people shake hands look them in the eye are you know honest and respectable I don't really care what they do as far as I want them to be healthy and active but everybody has their own life's path yeah definitely it's a funny one with families you know like uh relating to your parents relating to your siblings and they're relating to your children they're much different Journeys yes um and lessons yeah but you look in there you're like oh there's Christian oh look there's there's you know what I mean because it's all in there so you'll look and then you'll see your you know your wife's parents and I see Christian and like my parents and all these different things I'm like oh that's that personality or oh that was me or oh that's my wife like so weird is it like sometimes I see things like I know there's certain things about people who are influential in my life good and bad but there's certain things where I was like oh man I don't want to be that way and then then it'll just hit me I'm like [ __ ] that was I'm just I'm just like that thing I didn't want to be and uh damn it I want to hide that thing but I gotta fix that thing so I got to deal with it and I gotta be honest yes so I got one last question for you before you go and it's has nothing to do with surfing but I think people will or I want to hear it I've not spoke to you on different things but uh what do you feel about life on other planets and aliens and um extraterrestrials and shape shifters do you believe in that or is that just a hoax cuz some people might even consider you like a shape shifter you know funny a funny side note that um Taylor I forget if it's Taylor steel or Benji nicknam me hell they nickname me hell Hellraiser they and they said there was a joke going around that I sold my soul to the devil to win contest When We Were Young um and um that's impossible because I don't believe in the devil I don't I I'm not a religious person um so I I I believe in good and bad um right and wrong I don't know if I actually I'll leave the possibility out there that Heaven and Hell exist but you know I I personally don't know um as far as aliens I think it's I think it's the law of chance and probability probably states that I think would definitely state that there's life on other planets there's life out in the universe somewhere um have aliens gotten here I don't know I I had a funny conversation with Jack dad Jeff about this about 20 years ago and he said um he said I I don't think UFOs are real and I said why not and he said because he goes if they have the technology to get all the way here why do they need lights like why do they even need lights on their thing not like on their spaceships you know he goes because people always talking about these lights they see and stuff he goes I figure if you can travel faster than speed of light um and you have all this technology you don't even need lights for any reason on your craft and I thought that was kind of funny but um I I definitely believe that that uh there's something out there I think hey it's entirely probable that there's some sort of Star Wars life uh existence in the in the universe um if not the movie Star Wars had great messages about Good and Evil and it's kind of it's it's kind of fun it's you know to me it's more fun than Christmas Star Wars yes but um but you know because there's because there's lessons in it I guess there is a Christmas too but you feel like some guys constantly watching you you're kind of like paranoid yes um I don't know if that there's aliens here I don't know if there's shape shifters or any of that stuff um I don't know if it exists I don't know that's beyond my uh comprehension but I I definitely think that there is technology maybe there was even ancient technology on earth like I trip out on the pyramids the number of man hours and Technology it would take to build those things to the scale they are at the size they are is beyond measure it's beyond what we could possibly have hired a bunch of slaves to do yes like the best builders in the world can't make those things right now and um you're going to tell me that 20,000 slaves built that in a few years or whatever it would take I forget I heard on Joe Rogan how many it would take like I forget every five minutes you'd have to put a new Block in place for like 50 years 24 hours a day or something the number of BL and that's just the one that's one pyramid and there like a bunch of these around the world so I find listening to people like Graham Hancock really interesting um he has a really different alternative look at at history and ancient history and he actually his talks about the Amazon basin are really fantastic to listen to because he says that the the Amazon basin I think he mentioned something around 10 or 10 plus million people used to live there and theyve they figured that out by using liar in the above the overgrown brainforest now and they can see where there's like um irrigation and aqueducts and and um man-made uh basically would have been a man-made City or cities that were able to irrigate grow enough food through aquaponics and other sources to sustain that many people um and then they mysteriously disappeared like a thousand years ago or 900 years ago so um I don't know I think there's a lot more that we don't know than we do know and I think there I do believe there's probably hidden technology that the government knows about or Tesla came up with or stuff that disappeared maybe even thousands of years ago that we lost the understanding of and as Society has you know there's some people who like really hate capitalism and capitalism kind of creates these um products to sell and it's not necessarily for advancing technology and you see it even in in any company you know they got to get rid of the product they already made and like Market that and sort of thing and I think business and that kind of structure of the world does slow down what technology is because if technology was only used for the for the good of mankind I think we'd be light years ahead of where we are or decades or whatever yes I uh I'm coming back to you how do I do that um well I knew I would get a good answer out of you I just wanted to get you fired up on some other [ __ ] topic what's your what's your answer my answer is I feel like there's I mean it would be selfish to say that there is only life on this planet I feel like uh the government definitely has stuff in the air that would look like UF or people would say oh this and that because in my opinion they have these f-16s out on the tarmac but they've had those all my life and so I feel like that's just um you know that's like uh like the front of a stage or you know a trade show booth you got your your products out there but like what's going on in the back and so I well they definitely have like f-22s and I think they even have like f35s now or something but they're they uh they serve different purposes is right but I feel like things are um so far Advanced that like for us normal folk that we wouldn't even know what it is or how it got there but it could be the government it could be life on but like you're saying I don't feel like um I don't feel that there's aliens here I feel like if they want to do anything they could go do whatever the hell they want why are they going to come to Earth and I feel I feel that uh you know basically we're so far behind technologically that we can't even comprehend what it would be that they are or you know the things that they have so I feel like it's just one of those things where somebody was saying I think it was the maio Kaku guy he was just saying like a koifish you know and a koifish is in the pond that's all it's going to know until something reaches down and grabs it and pulls it out of the pond then it can actually see a little bit more of the world but I feel like we're just in our world and they might have their worlds cuz there's infinite galaxies or it's a Multiverse you know and so there could be parallel universes there could be humans like a million universes away doing the same exact thing I just feel like it's really hard to comprehend but it's definitely always a good um subject matter to get you know to get a rise out of people and I just thought it would be something cool to ask you because we've talked about different stuff I feel they're in our mind too I think if if um if aliens do exist and if UFOs are here the technology be so Advanced that they could make themselves invisible too and we wouldn't know yes you know they could only show themselves if they wanted to kind of thing but who knows I mean who knows maybe maybe we're the advanced civilization and and uh we're all just imagining these things Nicola Tesla I used to I used to read all of his books and study all his stuff and Tesla basically said if you can imagine it it it already exists it's already been done if you if you thought of it if you thought of it so you just have to then figure out how to create it and he would he would invent things in his mind and he would like reconfigure them in his brain before ever making them because he would evolve it because he would realize the inherent problems in his design but he was he was genius um for sure like really his book was called man out of time and it it it one book that I read and it made sense because he was thinking so far ahead of everyone else like Wireless technology 130 years ago I know why don't they teach us telepathy they can't charge us for that I mean because we're talking with m wires well that's good Instinct I mean we kind of have that yes we do but we don't harness we just don't know how to like enhance it maybe yes well we'll get back to all that uh
