today we're going to show you an easy way to manage your money using the Pacific Northwest Federal Credit Union app there's no need to use Excel or paper and pencil to keep a budget you can use our free app to track balances review your transactions keep track of payments and your goals all in one place on your phone when you first log in you'll click on more and then money management from there you'll see your accounts loans and balances if you have accounts or loans at another financial institution such as another Visa card somewhere else you can also link them in the app so you can track all of your balances and spending in one place you click on add more accounts and then from there you can select the institution from the dropdown or you can use the search box to search for one that way now I'm going to show you how to use the spending and goals categories to manage your finances so go to the upper corner click on the box and click on spending the spending feature filters each transaction into the appropriate category such as home travel utilities food or shopping this is really helpful to see where you are spending your money for example you can see if I click on the purple here which is entertainment I can see how much I've spent total on entertainment this month and then I click in the middle of the circle and I can see entertainment by transaction then if I go back to transactions I can see all of my detailed transactions from different accounts all in one place again you can see them by category so you have a better idea of where your money is going it's important to set goals if I click on the goals then this screen includes projected payoff dates for loans and my progress in making savings goals next click on the budgets category so these circles change color depending on how I'm spending compared to my budget the green indicates that you are below budget yellow means that you're reaching your cap and the red means that you've gone over budget so in this example I can see that there's still a lot of green but it's still earlier in the month so I haven't hit my cap for those areas however there are some areas that are red which means I've already gone over budget which means that I might need to adjust my budget or cut back on my spending you can see that this is a powerful app with so many tools that you can use to get your finances back on track to learn more go to our website pnwfcu.org or text app a to 503256 5858 to get the link to download the app
