Kathy and I have been talking this week about what you know we were going to talk about she comes in this morning she go you know this is all you I'm like no it's not what so we um kind of wanted to talk about worship and where we've come from and where we are going um and how do we get there and what are we going to do so um I think I'm going to start out in prayer how about that that'll be good for me Father we thank you God we thank you and we praise you God you alone are worthy and we thank you God for who you are God we thank you for for drawing Us in for that that we um have always been in your heart and that God you created us you created us for a purpose and sometimes I think God we're just beginning to understand a little bit of what that purpose is but we know we were created to worship and so God as we come before you this morning to worship and glorify your name I thank you that you are here Among Us so father just guide Kathy and I as we come before you to present uh what you have shown us and God that your name would be glorified in Jesus name all right so you know throughout the ages there have been you know it's started way back in the beginning when they all worship they you know praise the Lord and you know the question becomes how do we do that and what I want want to start with is where we've come from um from the early church and I don't know much about the early church but I I have thoughts in my head about you know in the Middle Ages there where you had the big Cathedrals and you had um they were beautiful they were I think sometimes they were they were created not just I mean they were created they did secular purpose and religious purposes but the when you had like Bach and all those people creating and the pipe organs and and that just the sound would ReSound and I think the purpose was to lift up God and and those places if you go on them they are Majestic so we've come then we came um what we're familiar with is hymns now Louise over here loves those hymns and I understand that you know we we are we love what we're familiar with or what we've grown up with and um I find that the um [Music] hyms were usually they had three to six verses or more and generally I think that hymns are very meaty they're very wordy and if you think about the people of the past they were very I would say kind of intellectual but they used big words and you know they they expressed themselves very well and I I know Louise that you love them one of the reasons is because of that because of what they share and they're declarative I think hymns are more declarative than um what we sing today and so from there and that was so that's been a long time that people have done hymns and hymns have been written over the ages and then things changed and I don't know that there's many hymns that are written today a lot of um there are some songs that I've seen come out of the worship Circle that are him likee but we have kind of turned to simpler praise and worship songs and I think that in my opinion a lot of this is in my opinion um they lead to more personal and vertical worship where we're actually um speaking to God directly the hymns A Mighty Fortress Is Our God so we're talking about him we're talking about how great he is and how wonderful he is and a lot of the praise songs today and the worship songs are God I love you you are worthy so it's I think that it's kind of changed in its um in what the praise songs do so I and I so I think it leads to a more personal worship um and in both instances we love the hymns and we love the praise songs because the words are there for us right when we get into a setting where there's just music playing and we start saying let's praise the lord we don't know what to say we don't know how to worship how to praise him um so and I always used to say I always love us I love the worship songs because they say what I want to say and I don't have to think about it I just have to come up with the song and so anyways so coming here um is entirely different than what I've been used to um I was a worship leader for 20 years and I love the songs my daughter and I would get together and you know you you take the songs and you sing them and you go no no no and then yes oh it's awesome you know so you come up with a set that you feel that the Lord has given to you to help the people to help our congregation enter into his presence to worship Him and now we've come to this place and it's a little different because we don't typically sing songs and it's not that songs are bad songs are excellent and I find myself at home you know a song will come in in into my mind and I'll start singing it and and it expresses what I want to say to God but I think that the Lord wants to express himself through us through our words not the words of someone else and when I say that though excuse the cough um we use the word a lot of times why because it's the word of God and by saying what's we're saying here we're saying God's will we're we're worshiping him the way maybe he wants us to worship him so so where are we going in our worship here what are we trying to accomplish and what is the purpose and Isaiah 43:19 says Be behold I will do a new thing now it shall spring forth shall you not know it so I think of over the past I don't think God wants us to stay where we're at where we've been he if he's doing a new thing he's going to show it to us and and we you know worship has evolved church services have evolved I think what we do today is typical every Church kind of kind of does the same thing but I think we want to look back into what does the word say about how to worship what does the word say about a worship service I think we need to be open to what he is doing and what he wants us to do um when we gather together we all bring the holy spirit with us I I've been thinking about this lately we walk into a worship service and we raise our hands we say Holy Spirit Come oh wait a second wait a second you're already here you're in me I think we could do that I think we can say Holy Spirit Come Holy Spirit Come and rise up within us and also come down from above if you want to call it that um so let's see and then when we gather together um 1 Corinthians 14:26 says whenever you come together each of you has a Psalm a teaching a tongue a revelation and interpretation that is very foreign to us let's see we're going to start with an opening we're going to do 20 minutes of worship and if we're careful somebody won't come out with a tongue because then there has to be an interpretation and what if what they say is wrong well we've got to somehow control that oh announcements we've got to stop the flow because we have to have those announcements and then then we'll get into the word wait a second what about words of knowledge and healing and the tongue the interpretation we we control things because we're afraid we're afraid so how do we create an atmosphere where those things are allowed and also monitored because you know you have to judge things right so how do we do that um let's see I'm going to go back to songs that we have already that are already written they serve their purpose and they're good but we want to go beyond that in our corporate worship to include your songs our songs your songs God I believe when we're worshiping um God wants to share his heart with us we're here to worship Him by the way I I feel sometimes we go into a worship service and we want a lot of us are like God I just need you so much God I need you well we're there to worship Him and when we worship him then he'll meet our needs he'll even meet our needs if we don't but I but our purpose is to come to worship her him and so we're in a a corporate um worship setting God is sharing his heart to you you are sharing it with the body which glorifies God and edifies the congregation so when we we come here um it's it's unfamiliar it's hard um because we're not familiar with it um so we we we kind of just start out with a chord progression and go ahead I just wanted to anet is she did mention it it is hard because it's a new thing but as she talked about the history you went from Cathedral to him to all this and don't think that people didn't struggle with the change because all you got to do is look at YouTube and people they're struggling today with elevation bethl Hill song There's always usually the struggle in any type of transition so we're a group that's called to that new thing you heard M I say it several times that the Lord has spoken to her about the new thing and things will be shifting and this isn't the only area things will be shifting and we know often change there can be some resistance but is it better to do the will of the Lord and answer the Lord because if you search all those things she said in history there was some you know people the resistance so here we are now of the new thing that he's doing and there is some resistance there there is some resistance but we're here now let continue we're here to try to help you with that new thing because we understand it's uncomfortable and hard sometimes to where are we going what are we doing how do we do this but they were saying that when they went from hyms to the Hillstone to you see what I'm saying it's still something's coming God is looking will you move to a new thing when I say I think of when we started praise songs back what in the 90s and we were trying to introduce it into a church and it was kind of funny some people would sit in the front row like this because that's not what we do or oh my gosh why do we have to sing those songs so many times I get so tired of singing them so many I mean you know you just there's all sorts of things and but then I think of the movements throughout um history so you know you had the the methodists you know and they were right in the Forefront of what was what God was doing and then I don't know who came next but so then another group came and God just started doing a new thing and what did the Methodist say oh that's not from God that doesn't look like God so they rejected it and so they're where they are today The Next Movement it also had a new movement later and it stopped and and God started doing another new thing and they're like that's not God so I think we need to be careful when we see a new thing that we don't say that's not God now that's not that you can't question it what you say is God is at you not that's not God God is at you and how do I fit into that is this some is this area you want me to go so and I want to also say I think we should be careful in condemning what other people do especially as you move into a new thing and someone else doesn't come along it doesn't mean they're wrong it they the Lord hasn't revealed it to them yet so let's be gracious yeah in what we say so let's see where am I so so we come and uh we start playing a chord progression sometimes we'll have a song Because songs aren't bad so are really good I mean there's some that just oh they speak to my heart so much but I wonder sometimes if if we got more into the scripture and what the scripture said it would speak to our hearts as well so we start with a song and we'll just start singing what comes into our head and we ask the Lord Lord you know and and first of all we're praising so how do you praise well praise I have news for you it's not silent it's so fun to praise in your head it's so easy nobody's going to hear me I don't have to worry about what people are going to think and I might be wrong do you see that praise do you hear that praise praise isn't silent it isn't to be kept in our minds it is vocal it is demonstrative you mentioned sacrificial it is sacrificial too why because I think Cindy's mentioned this before bless the Lord oh my soul you know sometimes I just don't feel like blessing the Lord but that is a command if you remember your English bless the Lord you bless the Lord so you got to tell yourself sometimes because our our flesh sometimes doesn't want to our spirit does so we have to Lord Holy Spirit rise up within us so um let's see did you have something oh Lord I was going to ask you to that can help but you had something to say so you could yeah I was going to back up to the struggle a little bit but I want B had something to say I turned it off so sure I got it yeah um I'll grab a seat too I like this little seating style here oh I I did turn it on I think he's got it back there yeah so I just am seeing all these things connecting from what Mary said to what you're speaking about being a Living Sacrifice and some something came to mind from a message I heard a while ago which really stuck with me but I had forgotten it and it all was coming back I think the Lord wants me to share and the thing about being a Living Sacrifice is you can crawl off the altar yeah and um you can sit there and the Lord does ask us to give a sacrifice of praise and he asks us to um you know give ourselves in that way and sometimes we want to dictate what that looks like like well I would like the sacrifice to look like this or I would like the sacrifice to look like that but um he is the one who determines you know how he wants to be worshiped and that's changed throughout the years right he told the Jews I want you to come to me in this way to do this to worship me in this way and that's different for us right now and this message that I was listening to what stuck with me was the imagery and it was about these changing traditions in the church and how the Lord is always breathing fire into his church it doesn't mean that hymns were were bad I mean the Lord worked through them his fire was in them and then you know things shifted and things are still shifting not saying that hymns are bad today but just that the Lord is bringing newness and his fire is moving and we want to be able to follow that fire where it goes and the one thing that stuck out to to me is it was saying you know the different sacrifices the Lord has accepted over the years what you want to keep from those sacrifices is fire you want to make sure that you keep the fire of what the Lord is doing you don't want to take the ashes that are no longer alive that the Lord is no longer burning on and try to take those with you because that's not where his fire is is moving so I just thought that was really powerful amen amen I I wanted to just go back a little bit to uh the struggle of it all and actually I really want to hear from you because there's things that whether there has been or what you think other people and I'll have Laura if you don't mind Laura just go around with someone to share to have the like because we we need to talk about this because we come to do it but if there is a struggle the only way we can move past it is when we talk about it we because we can come and come and have the same thing happen but if we begin to say I think one of the struggles is with me or one of the struggles is that I see with other people then we can talk about it so please raise your hand Alex uh if we keep in mind that worship will bring Victory it's a sacrifice but it is the door for a victory great Victory we will be encouraged to sacrif to to worship often not just in church when we're in company when we're alone when we're driving when we wake up now in the Bible uh one of the first worships was when Miriam started singing the the psalm after they crossed the Sea and the and the military uh Egyptian Army you know sunk in the in the water it was a new it yeah it's probably should be counted as the first Psalm too in the Bible and uh and uh if if you the age of the Psalms was when David was King and throughout his life and Solomon after him and the biggest Worship in the Bible was when Solomon dedicated the temple for God I mean he sacrificed tens of thousands of cattle and sheep and uh he was doing physical sacrifice not just but he he was worshiping from the bottom of his heart and he was setting a the standard for worship in front of his nation of his new nation and uh and it was he was going through his best days as a relation with the Lord you know he screwed up later but but at the time he was like Israel was at its biggest and wealthiest and most strongest because of that worship that that effect of that day uh just stayed on for a long time and then uh another uh occasion of big worship was Ezekiel it brought him to the presence of God uh he he he saw God and he saw the the robe of God the the the Majesty you know so worship will bring us to places we can't get to on our own right so we should so we should do it all those examples thank you Alex were great examples that new songs came from their heart it was on the spot like I can see Marion dancing now like that was huge yeah so so what I'm saying when we come here those things are what when we say a new thing is happening what I see is God is looking for that that not that the older songs or whatever like we said nothing wrong with them and we might start to Branch off from them but what are you hearing right now from your own heart because it comes from God to you out of you to us and we sing it or we speak it and it must be spoken it can't be kept inside it must be spoken or son so this is part of what we're saying to do things where Alex presented a lot of great examples is there anyone that says what the struggles are of getting there what you might think yeah can you hear me yep I want to put the struggles in in perspective the church has had a very turbulent history when it comes to change one of the big things I've always heard from my demographics is why do we need to change God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow which is true which is true you are here I am which is true God intrinsically has never changed but what people neglect to see is his methodology changes all the time absolutely good word take a look at the Reformation who that change brought people to death people died on a stake being burnt alive for the fact that they believed in a change that's tremendous that's huge and that was the birthright of protestantism was this enormous sacrifice and this is going in and out the enormous sacrifice in terms of change and transition now we're like oh I don't want to sing that song over and over again that's so wimpy compared to what people were prepared to die for back in the day and hymns were a big part of that from the medieval Catholic Church those hymns were a huge no no and not only that they were sung in the vacular there was Su in the in in the language that people understood no bueno and that was part of a huge transition yes so God is moving constantly changing yes Progressive so would you say to the struggle to summarize that would be people are not thinking about that God is the same but his methodolog methodologies change and they're not willing when to right when people are fussing over the change in methodology and say God is the same maybe what they're saying I don't know people you know people are different maybe what they're saying is that my picture of God stays the same see what I'm saying yeah there's you can get stuck yeah we all get stuck so so yes uh don't forget uh the 7even day worship around the walls of Jericho mhm amen Jesus yes I I Washington DC I I wanted to speak on the same topic that Nancy had brought up before when back in 1517 when the Reformation began um literacy was not widespread and the hymns that were used in the Protestant Church replaced the choirs that had been used in the Roman Catholic church because there were no professional choirs the hymns taught Theology and Christian understanding to people who weren't literate the Gutenberg Press was only invented about that same time time and books were non-existent it was a methodology for teaching just as stained glass windows were and I as a child learned more about my faith from the hymns we sung than I did from the preachers in the Pulpit yes and and not all hymns simply talked about our understanding many of them were worship hymns like Breathe on Me Breath of God or Immortal invisible God only wise you know help us to understand that it's only the Splendor of light hides you hideth thee but so when we switched from hymns to worship praise and worship songs we were actually following I think the culture of our day which had become far more informal I mean instead of ecclesiastical robes the preachers were up in blue jeans so everything is changing and I still love all of them thank you so the thought that I got is that for me worship is directly related to learning to receive from the Lord for me is as I receive as I walk with the Lord and I receive and believe all that he has for me and all that I see reflected in his word which is his will and I receive and I accept it that pours out into worship and I have a testimony I remember I think was like 24 years ago when I was start first starting to learn about walking with the Holy Spirit and relying on the Holy Spirit fully cuz without him I cannot please God and live the life I wanted to the flesh was weak the spirit was willing but I couldn't so I realized I need to include the holy spirit in my daily life so I was reading I don't remember the number of the psalm but it is a Psalm that says what return shall I make to the Lord for all the things he has done for me or all the things he has given me and the answer to that and I was just so grateful for the Salvation I just overflowing with gratefulness for his salvation his forgiveness and the answer to that the psalmist says is I will take the cup of Salvation I will drink in the name of the Lord and the Lord said to me just receive it you don't have to do anything you just just receive it and that overflowed in into worship so I think as we've learned to receive and believe that what God says in his word is for us is true and then that overflows into worship else um I'm not sure that anything I would bring up would really be of a a great deal of help I've um can I say something before you continue sure one thing I wrote down um what is what are the struggles I'm not sure with what I have to say is going to help anybody so we'd love to hear what you have to say well you we at this point the discussion seems to be centered on what we grew up with versus what we're going into or what we have done in the past 50 years um I I grew up with hymns and no instruments that was my church affiliation at that point and uh I was a teenager when the um the uh guitar amplifier and voice amplifiers were invented or at least when they were starting to be used a lot rock and roll started about the 50s more or less and I was born in 41 so I watched music in general change and as music in general changes church music will follow that historically is true and though the style of the music changed in the' 60s this the attitudes for of of socialness changed and we're we we've been living these past few years on a backlash of change that's that's um that's that's gone deeper than many changes have gone because it has change the music style and the music style changing has done more different changing in churches than just about anything else uh the the questions that we get into in terms of of of worship are are are really a little bit of detail we when you look back into the worship that God [Music] dictated in under the law of Moses in the Tabernacle there wasn't even any music period there were sacrifices and the sacrifices were the worship and the praise that they gave him uh was not in assembly they didn't assemble to praise they praised and and and I I presume they praised around the sacrifices but that's more of a presumption because I'm not quite sure what exactly went on but then then when music was introduced uh we have we have the the texts the texts of Mo of of the music that was produced for for God's Worship in the temple that was what David was instituting into the temple was the music and and that we have all those texts that are still full of meaning and full of uh of guidance for us as we are producing our own music for them or for the similar kinds of subject matter that that we're we're talking about praise and worship but it gets pretty wide in terms of instructing other people to praise and and encouraging other people um I I found a lot of things that that personally help me to worship amongst the praise choruses and of the praise music and some of the worship music has has not helped me at all it it's it's not encouraging it uh some of it turns people's minds toward themselves instead of toward God some hymns are not worth singing because they had the same kind of of of people writing hymns and and gospel songs that turned toward the wrong approach uh some hymns were uh very heavily aimed at teaching uh teaching theology uh the um the leadership of almost every movement uh in encourages the music that helps move their movement along and some of it is very I hate that some of of it is very moving it moves us a lot emotionally uh and spiritually and even theologically but some of it um we everybody edits the the words to fit their theology you check check everybody's song books you discover the song Words of the songs change from from denomination to denomination that's true so what what we're doing with with with learning what we're trying to learn what we're doing the style that we're we're almost almost inventing a new approach and that may be what God is trying to give us is a new attitude toward it I'm not sure I'm still back here going around it around in circles uh I've we Iris and I have had more than one discussion on this we've had a few good ones at least one really really good one the other day that's awesome but anyway that's the encouragement I would I would try to try to give would be to to when when you feel discouraged in yourself go back to the Lord and see if if this is really what he wants done let's try it let's do the best we can and let's let's by all means there's nothing wrong with praising God and and and praising him out loud and praising him in odd ways has been done I mean what you you remember what the what the uh Israelites did when they got out of Egypt and they got across and watched the E Egyptian Army drown you remember what the what the the what the praise to God God form was at that point they had a dance troop a dance troop of women tambourines with tambourines and and I if if the music history that I learned was was any um carries any weight the song they were singing when they were playing with the tambourine didn't have any Harmony it probably was just a Melody the song Everybody sang the same thing and it wasn't probably the greatest melody in the world according to our understanding of how Melody works but but it was it was the praise to God that worked amen and if we're going to praise God and we're going to be the the the people that follow God to his satisfaction or the way he wants it's going to be from the heart and it's going to be in submission to God and if if this is what it is I I I think griping at God about it isn't going to be very profitable I I think praising God for it even though I find it the same difficulty many of you do probably it sounds like it that that we um it it's it still kind of reminds me of the the people who have difficulty singing when when we sing I all my life I've been tried to encourage people to sing when we're singing together and and and that really gets hard for some people to open their mouths to sing they've been beat down enough about their mou they're singing and they don't you know but that's it let's encourage enage each other to open up with God and and do it and try and and and know that know that no matter how good the artwork is when the kid brings you a picture that he did in kindergarten you put it up on the on the on the the the refrigerator because that's something that you're proud of them doing and you're happy with the result of their effort so so believe me God is going to be happy with the result of our efforts even if we're not so happy ourselves that's good that's very good um I just wanted to comment to that is that the end thing you said I think is critical that we have to encourage one another in the new thing it may be hard for some and not comfortable but that was perfectly said pop we have to encourage one another and the conversation we're having right now is one of the ways I'm glad you two are home and had the conversation what did you say what you talking about because it's it's important because I know pop has come from musical background he's a teacher so there could be those things of resistance but thank you for sharing po because there was a lot of nuggets and information there there there was could I just add one thing every praise no matter what form it takes has to be motivated by love and even Miriam and her dances were given a reprimand by God after their praise their spontaneous praise God said don't take so much delight in the death of the Egyptians they too are my preachers my children um I wanted to say you know when we talk about um praising god um there's so many different ways to praise and if you've ever studied the word praise I me there's taada that's a sacrifice or the extension of the hand praise initiated by the believer's will there's yada to raise one hand and praise to God then there's halah to celebrate the Lord or zamar which is to praise the Lord skillfully by playing an instrument and talah it's a song from the human spirit and God um is enthroned or inh habits our praises and thought about this yesterday I was U meditating on that verse and it's like why are we complaining God inhabits he's there when we praise I've got a bad situation going on praise why because he's there he's he's waiting for that that's where he lives he lives and that's where the victory is but when we're praising in here and we start saying Lord I praise you wor they wor they and you guys you know sometimes you're listening to us but just because we're on the microphone doesn't mean that you can't open your mouth we want to we're trying to encourage you to praise and I've got scans of scriptures here let's see rejoice in the Lord oh you righteous Praise Is Beautiful praise the Lord with a heart make Melody with an instrument um 1st Samuel 10:5 says prophesying um the instruments went before and then prophecy came after the praise you know Prophet um in praising encourages prophecy we we want to see that happening here Make a Joyful Shout to the Lord sing out the honor of his name make his praise glorious um Psalm 111 I will praise the Lord I mean I could go through there's so many scriptures that talk about praise so we want to encourage you to praise and then we we also there's times that we're singing something and it becomes something that everybody if if we all join in it becomes a a praise to God which kind of seg weighs into the next last section is called activation we want to help you with some of the howtos so um before that I just want to give a quick I've been waiting a while you didn't raise your hand he just stands here I just stand here I just wait the wind blows where it pleases you hear it sound but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes so it is with everyone born of the spirit amen I really hate to spiritualize all this no you don't no I don't it often the more things change the more they stay the same the new thing we're doing is actually the old thing that they used to do the question is and the challenge is are we willing to hear from the Lord and be and be led and do what he tells us to do because if we do what the Lord tells us to do we're going to appear very foolish right it's the foolish things he's chosen to confound the wise so going back to Alex's example can you imagine the foolishness that it seemed when these people got up and started walking around the walls of Jericho the people must have been up on the walls laughing it's like you know they must have really thought it was silly you know I can you know you know in my younger days my worship was you know kicking my heels up and do all this stuff I can remember where I a place I used to go to church where the Lord would say okay I'll go run around the church so right in the middle of the worship I would head out the door and do two laps around the church and run back in and everybody thought I was crazy and then I found myself on the floor rolling around I was like oh I understand the term Holy Rollers now I never knew what that meant because I see I didn't grow up with it the entire church was in an uproar about me CU they thought I was nuts but the Pastor said what you see is not strange or abnormal this is what everybody should be doing this is what's normal worship is just like everything else that we've been teaching and encouraging here whether it's dreams or or walking in the prophetic it all boils down to one thing which is hearing from God and doing what he tells you to do you know are we willing I mean I've I've been in in worship where everybody is flat on their face because the spirit moves on everybody you know are we willing to get flat on our face if the Lord says get flat on your face and be quiet because that can be worship so anyway Alex I just appreciated your example because it's the foolish things amen it's just the foolish things and and it really is all about being led by the spirit what are we willing to do what crazy thing are we willing to do if God tells us to do it amen and the word Halal means to be clamorously foolish in praising him oops thank you Andrew that was um the last like I was saying the last part that we wanted to move into was activation of the how too um before we do that I just wanted to give a short testimony of um I'm sure you guys heard the song Reckless Love by Cory Asbury I had the opportunity to be in a conference with the co-writer Caleb of that song and um this move has been happening for a while and those who will listen will start to move in it thank you Mom they will start to move in it so as a conference with him he used me for one of the people as he called up uh to sing new songs but one thing I noticed now they're writing hit songs Christian hit songs and his wife and him got up and he taught and began to speak on you know skillfully learning your instruments and also singing the new songs now they could keep writing out songs and putting out songs but one thing the Lord has on them is it's transitioning from this to what we're doing right now and his wife they were both at IHOP for many years and his wife got up and spoke and she said if I was challenged one day because it's same thing that um you were saying Lyn she realized that with without the songs she had nothing of her own to say to God these are writers these are people who are out there very good but she got challenged that if there was no song on the screen or people weren't singing the known song she had nothing to say she was so bothered in her heart by that that she went to the Lord and the Lord began to to you know help her because she desired see there also has to be a desire so when we come here there's that desire that Lord either give me something or what is it that's on your heart even if you think you can't sing some people come up to that mic and Make a Joyful Noise We we will help that's part of what we do is to help SC that out make it a loop and sing it out then everybody joins in the best you sometimes it's not a song Sometimes you have a lyric sometimes you have a Melody doesn't matter can be a scripture what we're looking for is not to be afraid but to step out share it and let's see what God does with it because it's now it's from God to you child to people so that's that's what we're going to do and so we're gonna you want to share something I just know Laura wants to so if you're done with that thought you're fine that was great I just um the something I was thinking about as we were all sharing and also I heard someone else say under their breath which is great that we're on the same page there really is no right or wrong about how we worship and it's not about right or wrong it's not about well this style is bad this style is good and people can you know take that different ways depending on their background but it's it's really more about what Andrew was saying you know is the Lord breathing on this and when we do our corporate worship and when we're challenging ourselves to hear from the Lord at that time will he sometimes bring to us a a part of a hymn well yeah he might he might do that and does that mean that we have to go sing the whole hymn out of tradition no it doesn't necessarily mean that but it does mean that you know he can bring things and um breathe on them aresh and that's what he does with the Bible right those are inspired words and sometimes you can speak them in they're dead if the holy spirit's not speaking them but you can speak them when he breathes on them aresh and they have life and so that's just a reminder you know the Lord can use hymns he can use praise he can use the the scripture he can use you know your own experience and he speaks to us all in different ways so maybe some point he'll bring a hymn because it speaks to someone so strongly and they need to hear that at that point um and it's just a reminder that he he's fresh but he can use various parts of our experience amen because that's what I had down here so Laura covered it for Me Jesus because it's true the the lyrics from a song May pop right in your head and here's another thing to know the lyrics Can Be Sung or the same Melody it doesn't often mean we're going to change our chord progression so there's different ways it can happen like I'll hear an old like as we've been talk about about this miam thing you know the sea that's the song that the the old AG churches would sing that's what they made out of it um I might sing that same Melody to a core progression she said I don't want her to change the chord progression so there's different ways this can go sometimes uh we stop and we will actually sing the H and the way it goes sometimes we just want to hear the lyrics of the H and we're going to remain where where we are it can happen different ways but right now what we're after Is the participation the participation of the heart yeah so we're going to I was just going to say because this is Corporate worship I believe that when we get together corporately it's there's something that happens and I don't pretend to know what happens but I believe that when we worship corporately when we're in unity when each one is bringing what God has things are happening in the spirit that we know not of can't deter um I did want to throw one more thing in there is uh sometime the instruments prophesy that's right so as we're playing core pression or Melody ask God what that is one time Andrew uh was over there with a baby and I started playing Melody line and I could hear him faintly out my ear but it was like and then finally I waved him on he came up here with the baby and he sang into the M you could have exactly the words to the melody or it could be a spoken interpretation I've been in places before where I knew exactly what the words the melodic line was saying and someone else had a a word spoken word was on the same lines but interpretation understand is different you may have she may have something you may have something it's not the same as translation so we have to understand it's interpretation um a number of years ago when I was in um the church where I was before uh we were doing Sunday morning and so forth um at one point in time we had a very gifted t uh trumpet player was a young woman and um she had she began to play on the trumpet and I began receiving a word and I realized it was connected to her trumpet playing and so I I stood forward and she stopped and I looked at her and called her name I said don't stop it's coming out of your trumpet amen and she continued to play and until the prophecy was done and and then she and I both knew it was done but it it had to and I know there's a place in the Old Testament where this is the case the Prophet call the call the harpist or they call the musicians to come to play before they prophesied so that's biblical but that was the first time I had ever had it happen to me where that prophecy I was receiving was directly connected to the sound on that trumpet and um it produced I don't remember what the prophecy was but it went out and it went out forcefully just like the trumpet and um so he he's up to stuff he's up to Fantastic stuff yeah amen amen um we need to also remember that worship is nonstop around the Throne of God and the The Lord's Prayer says on Earth as it is in heaven amen amen amen thank you Alex amen so we're going to keep it um short but we we want to do an activation of all the things that we said if you hear a Melody line some and ask the Lord what is that saying he may have you seen it exact he may have you just know what it is like my Iris it just came up with a word around it um but we're always listening listening listening and asking God and then we're bringing it forth corporately while we're getting ready this this has been beautiful ladies thank you um and group thank you for sharing and uh I know in my spirit this is only the first change he will have us do we are in for more and it will be different in another year or two but we must take the first step have you ever noticed how when he gives you instruction he'll give you one step but not 10 you take the one and faith and then he multiplies it and then there'll be another so we need to really stand participate we need to really Embrace what the ladies have brought us this is what we were appointed to for a season and for the Lord's season and he will move it and he will morph it to that which he wants from us in the next season as we are faithful to this one amen amen all right let's Praise Him Jesus thank you Lord Jesus we bless you Lord thank you Lord Oh Glory Lord we magnify share as we ter there no other has ever known [Music] yeah I had that one as well listening now and we have to open our mouths so thank you you spok we get better at that because we need to hear this is what it's supposed to be these things will drop just [Music] not didn't change sometimes but not supposed to that same flow you just sing the M yeah so did anybody else get a picture as as we sang that I just I just pictured a parent walking and holding a child's hand and I kind of in my head the parent was God and he was holding my hand and he was talking to me and we were kind of walking on a just a quiet Wooded Path by a stream or something like that you know what I mean so this a picture I got when was he walks with me and he talks with me and he tells me [Music] yes he walks with me [Music] he tells me I am [Music] his sorry what I was getting was from Psalms 23:4 y though I walk through the valley of the Shadow them I will fear no evil for thou art with me yes you think about that that's what that's all about he is with us forever yes he's with us here if you want to call your spirit here with us amen amen [Music] yes Lord yes Lord yes Lord yes Lord you are my shepherd worship thank you Lord for speaking to us that we hear you Lord that we perceive it father I ask that you just seal everything that's been done him that we remember Lord and that we gr from a beautiful yes Lord thank you Jesus thank you Lord thank you Lord yes Lord we bless you thank you Lord thank you [Music] Lord just one thing just one thing I think that I would um just briefly say to you is that um I won't try to recount it but the way we worship is what the Lord showed me back in 2021 um in January February of 20 I had uh two months to listen to him and this is what he brought forth that he was waiting for his people to learn to praise and that was it in summary he had pictures he showed me of my background and so forth and so on but the important thing is that what they've caught hold of is the reality of what he had said and now of course we're open to the next step because we've gotten we're getting this one thank you that was very good we're getting this one and we'll be open to the next step we'll continue this until it's all done but thank you thank you very much and thank you all uh
