*95* Al Leiter Pitches a Gem in His Debut!

are you close to collecting Enough season 1 cards to unlock 95 hyper series all lighter are you not sure if he is worth the investment because let's be honest that's a lot of cards and a lot of stubs and stubs ain't easy to come by well if you're curious this is the video for you we're going to pitch a full game with Al lighter as long as nobody quits and based on how he does maybe that'll help influence your decision whether you should lock in those cards to get Al lighter I think Al is going to be one of the best pitchers in the game right now I'm a fan of Al every single year so let's get into a game and actually see how he does I upload videos like this every single Thursday on this channel I teach you how to pitch with guys who maybe you're not sure if you should use you're going to see every single pitch I throw not a single swing this is a pitching video and this will help you decide whether you should pitch or ditch all lighter as you can see here there is a ton to love about all lighter not a lot really to dislike we'll talk about the the very obvious thing in a moment uh Sinker cutter curveball slider for seamer for years I've been wishing that he would have a change up having a change up would make his game or make his utility so much higher but we work with what we have the obvious thing on the attribute wheel so to speak that we have to talk about is the BB per9 it is even though it is so low I don't think it's a big deal yes pitches might occasionally leak over the middle of the plate if you put in bad pinpoint input that'll happen with most pitchers anyway if we're being honest but because all ligher does not throw very hard you can see his velocities oh this side NOP this side right here see third time all his velocities is right there because his velocities aren't High his pars are not large so as long as you do good pinpoint input your level of variance isn't that high it will stay within that tiny little par Circle so hopefully we'll be fine I I think you will be just take your time with the pinpoint and what we're relying on here with Al lighter is look at that the pitch breaks are just miraculous High 90s for everything but the fast ball and fast balls just in case you weren't aware don't break so we're we're cooking with lighter I'm excited let's get into a rank game let's try him out by the way we are 31 and4 the World Series pushes continuing rated 8812 hopefully it doesn't get worse let me tell you we could really use some length out of out lighter here our Bullpen is torched completely gassed they have been abused and overused so if Al could give us five six maybe seven Innings we'll be cooking and our opponent is going to be Jacob lay iser Rob let's go hit him we're at laughing Mountain yay he said no body ever and our opponent who's got a lot of lol's in his username he is 37 and six everybody's a good we left the Bases Loaded in the top of the first I am not confident with how this is going to go so all lighters we're going to work that cutter Sinker tunnel man it's going to be pretty pretty easy I mean he hit that well but it was in on his fist and he didn't get F fabulous contact good timing though but we're going to learn we're going to learn that he's turning on that so normally the cutter to a lefty would be outliners bread and butter but I feel like that pitch has become more hitable this year uh maybe that's just me I'm not sure so we're going to pick our spots with that especially against someone who's presumably a good player his record was excellent I want to throw this for seamer away off the slider okay he is behind it maybe he was sitting on that cutter I want to put the slider definitely below the Zone but not all the way outside I want to give him a different location to look at that's fine I just wanted him to stare at that if he would have swung great no big deal he didn't put the four seamer up here okay my opponent's got a good eye not shocking he's using the pencil pencil bat excuse me that means he's great maybe we could spot this cutter inside for a c strike three hell yes Alli lighter with all the break in the world we love that now this is scary Justin Turner is very good my opponent has a lineup that's kind of built to hit lefties but uh what a great first inning from Al lighter what a nice job everything went well remember this inning if the rest of the game goes to look at us we have a two nothing lead all right I want to be careful that I'm not just falling into the same pattern so this Sinker that's going to tail away very nice from the right-handed bat is also going to be useful I want to make sure I'm mixing everything in what I love about Al ligher is that he's got stuff that moves both directions again I wish he had the change up to move down and fade and just provide a different speed for my opponent to look at he's effective without it it would just help but look we've already got one quick out in the second another thing that alter should do well as get grounders if they punch this Sinker into the dirt and if he's not going to swing at it that's okay I'd like him to maybe he'll swing at this one he would it was punched into the dirt we got a terrible animation rich is not running what a play Aurelia decided to walk out of the batter's box that's fine with me ah this is a risk but I don't want to keep throwing first pitch slider low and away okay he was way early on that hon cursed that different pick for the ranked lineup I I can respect it we are of course going to throw an occasional Sinker inside we're going to be so freaking careful with it so careful and the curve ball loopy spot grounder or swinging Miss okay that's a show me Pitch that's fine this looks like the same exact pitch but it's going to break differently different shape ooh he swung he bit he bit um I want up and in with the Sinker but definitely off the plate if we can get it there perfect fraking job all lighter through two he's doing everything we need let me tell you Al is going to have to keep pitching well because my opponent's a very good pitcher and with the fact that sliders make your PCI the size of a pubic hair it's going to be tough to actually get hits because he's throwing a lot of Sliders I'm not saying he's abusing it but I'm sure he knows we got a nice call to start that atat hopefully Jackie Robinson can make a nice play here nice animation Jackie Jackie Robinson's going to be lowkey a good short stop I think people are sleeping on him middle infield depth is hard to come by right now go with a slider but not too low this time different height on it I don't know why he swung at it but he did maybe because it was a different height can this Sinker be planted up and in or up and out rather nope bad pinpoint want to make sure I'm on my pitching profile didn't feel like I was um let's throw the curveball we nibble with Al ligher guys we Chase and we nibble we want to be in the zone a little bit but his ball moves so much I want to get my opponent chasing if possible there we go inside oh my God Al lighter you beautiful beautiful man he's pitching a lot better than his son jack did in his debut let me tell you that sorry Rangers fans I also like Jack lier he's on my fantasy team my Dynasty Team all right cutter away hasn't seen it from me yet hopefully it's not a mistake okay we're not going to throw it a lot I just want to prove to him that I will put pitches in different parts of the Zone Sinker low and in he's used to that being a cutter roughly in that location so that's a nice pitch and let's see if we can uh rip it off yes we can oh my goodness three phenomenal innings for Al so far Spencer steer catches the popup let's go tack out a few runs we got hold on some hits let me tell you that or not hits contacts balls I pissed on that just went right at infielders but it's okay this video is about Al and Al alone and Al just keeps getting early in the at bat outs he chased on that slider it was in on his hands we got a weak popup it's beautiful you know who's going to ruin all our fun Steven Quan because I feel like he's the type of card that would do such a thing and he's not another first pitch out another in on his fist I want to remind you guys cuz a lot of people like to say like oh your opponents aren't great my opponent's 37 and six he's very good he's very very good so we're just going to keep working I know that every pitch I throw is important love that he chased that love that he chased that he's that's the first time he showed to me that he's going to chase it weird count to put a fast ball up but I want to change his eyes and he swung at it and somehow hit that on the ground what for very not going to talk about it Innings without lighter don't say it back to work 29 pitches through four Innings Al fraking lighter ball one that's fine keep dealing Al let's just keep getting outs that was a perfect perfect he must have been sitting on that cutter up and in it's the first time I thrown in a while to be fair all right little bit of adversity never hurt anybody he hit that ball very well he was also coming into this game hitting 500 with candelario all right this is where we got to be careful because one swing makes this game tied we don't want that I would love a grounder grounder popup he has hit a lot of popups so same movement in but a little quicker all right he is early on it early um richer really is kind of short that was an uncompetitive fast ball up in the zone what can we throw what can we throw maybe he'll think this is a cutter he'll take it it's a c strike three nope all right hey we got our grounder though love that no advancement cuz it's right in front of the runner one out perfect job perfect job we did what we wanted to do he hit it well though just something to note haven't thrown the cutter away to the Lefty a lot that was a good spot for it cuz we got a first pitch strike and he was late on it which is interesting come up with the Sinker another grounder I mean I don't know how he was so early on that no big deal though two away this is a huge batter in this game we get out of this clean I I'm feeling okay Jam job he swings the bat he swings the bat a lot I don't know if that's going to change as this game keeps going on but he is up there hacking give me hands be inside this time okay ready for it this is where the change up would help us folks we don't have it though maybe the Sinker fading away got him yes that was a good pitch the slider starts in that same spot and comes in that Sinker tails the other way nice fraking job pit this is a pitcher D I mean both of us are locked in on this game instead of a cutter away to start Sinker away strike one he was way late on he's also been late on this one inside he hasn't shown me that of course that's when he dinky doodle turns on it listen he turned on it he didn't exactly hit that with any sort of authority though that's just a really unfortunate hit because I did what I wanted to do I jammed him uh yeah just late jammed of course course all right adley Rutman you want to hit me a grounder that's a good take it's a good tunnel didn't swing at it though he's learning there we go there we go we're in the count now cutter wow is he selling out for that cutter inside all right let's see if he'll expand hit me a grounder he did oh my God it's almost as if I'm no stradamus in this video double play asked him to expand he expanded all right nice job let's get Bobby wit now let's get Bobby wit top of the order in the sixth okay you know what I'm going to come back with that for some reason he keeps swinging at this yeah all right let's hope now he's prone to take that pitch and it's a called strike three ah it was a late swing he was thinking about taking it nice job pitching out of a leadoff base runner it was a fluky hit immediately erased and Alice through six shutout Innings come on what scares me now chat is that we need nine more outs and I only have a two-run lead that is normally not enough at laughing Mountain so we got to pitch carefully he is waiting for that inside Sinker Bas and how early he was on that swing so we're going to put it away it's fine get eyes looking that way I'm going to piggyback that with a sinker away nice job Babe Ruth look at The Jump by big titty babe one out one out in the seventh Al lighter has thrown 58 pitches killing it this is a very scary batter though Justin Turner destroys lefties swing okay Bill Bill that's twice now you've hurt me Justin Turner I am not trying to put it in his pull zone or at least on the plate yeah if he's wants to pull it pull it foul that's not a big deal that's not going to hurt me him keeping it fair pulling it that's going to hurt okay thought about it thought about it this is a this is a a frightening pitch we're staying in we're jamming him in you can notice he's either hitting it foul or getting jammed by it he's not really hitting him with authority on the plate yet he has chased this with two strikes frequently not when it's that not competitive though uh let's throw a weird pitch let's see if we can jam with a curveball this is a very strange scary stupid pitch okay he was early on it very early I don't really know what to throw him here slider just off the plate Chase it ah he didn't chase it cuz it was a strike and he hit it just a single could have been worse I thought about being able to make a play with it on trout but I was worried about to go into the wall now is not the time to take those risks candelario has a perfect perfect double in this game so I'd love if he hit something on the ground okay that's Hey listen I'll take a lazy fly out double play would have just been cake but we'll take an easy out whenever we can get one two outs in the seventh now for Al who is this five hitter is it a lefty no it's not it's Aurelia Aurelia hasn't really done anything yet chase this and nope Chase and beat it for a grounder this is a good pitch to follow up that Sinker the slider with and of course that just misses so 2 and0 where are we going I like that that was totally not where I wanted it cuz the pinpoint was bad but I'll take a very late result please get off the plate preferably with a swing of course we piggyback it with something coming back okay please chase the slider good pitch wow Stone Cold spit on it all right hey we've got some adversity here I'm going to get the bullpen ready just in case I really don't want to go to the bullpen and quite honestly I have very few intentions of it right now but there a big at bat I assume he's sitting Sinker inside so we're going to go Sinker away nice pitch cut her just off the plate please and we got him to chase kind of or at least hit it softly seven shutout Innings some adversity we pitch through some stuff Al run support I'm going to try he needs a little more two a enough squandered a chance to pad the lead now we are in the yellow with Al first sign of trouble we got to take our boy out he is pitching one hell of a game first pitch outs are definitely going to help but with 76 pitches now and one out in the eighth he is in the yellow he is not built to go nine unless you are the most efficient pitcher on Earth which is I I thought what we were beat if I'm being honest but cutter away that got a lot of the plate and Raphael Palo decided not to bring his glove to the field that was a routine grounder that he got stuck in an animation on so against adley we're going to try to get the double play if he gets on Al day is finished I want to reward Al and reward you all for watching it and making it this far but I'm suddenly losing the plate entirely yeah I think we're done I think we're done done here I'm going to do it again get back in the count yeah that was a strike P I'm going to do it a third [Laughter] time are we going to pitch to Whit why not man right is that famous last words it might be but 0 and one we put three straight sinkers directly where we wanted them I'll just throw strikes and now my opponent of course is supremely patient ah and I ruined it that's why you take pictures out I did it for the content what a swing great swing I haven't been throwing that pitch there a lot great swing tied it two should have taken Al out but it's okay Al is still pitch great in real life in a real ranked game in which I'm not recording I probably take him out in that in that case I also blame that on Palo for letting that single go through but he went eight Innings two runs hard default him I need to score more than two in any situation so let's go try to get the lead in the ninth a two-run homer with Kyle Seager almost said Cory Seager Kyle Seager so let's lock down a save with Evan Phillips because alider did more than enough I shouldn't have left him in but I did and we're living with the consequences of that decision but but we're back to a two-run lead it's as if Ramone was like you know what you should win by two or at least win so as you can see Evan Phillips everything moves everything moves to the point where I cannot locate with him oh what a curve that's disgusting back to the cutter roll it over or that do more of that one out nice pitching Evan Phillips is gross he's disgusting and he gets nice lazy line outs to right field it's two outs one more out we got to win with Al lighter and it was almost a beautiful pristine win with Al ligher instead it's just potentially a nice run-of-the-mill win but I'll take it let's see if he's just camped out for that Sinker inside he might have been cutter in different look came right back over the pl let me tell you this guy is swinging early in counts and early on pitches ground ball for the win nope just stares at it his eye has become impeccable in the late Innings Jam job okay early very curious what you want to do with this Spencer Spencer steer in his secondary let's go 4 to win all ligher pitches his kahon off eight Innings five hits only three strikeouts not a strikeout guy my opponent put the ball in play a lot listen in a normal circumstance he would have gone seven and yanked no runs allowed maybe seven and a third after that single I take him out I left them in for the content but you guys can see Al lighter against a good
