JUST IN: Broncos Roster Is OFFICIAL: Initial 53-Man Roster & Full List Of Broncos Roster Cuts

[Music] the Broncos have released their initial 53 Mana roster so we're going to run through all the roster cuts the Broncos made and then look at the updated depth charts now the key word and the main takeaway from this video is the word initial this is just the initial roster there are going to be changes made over the next 4872 hours but for now this is what Denver has now unfortunately this is the end of the road for a lot of players so drop a good luck in the comment section below to wish everyone who was released today best of luck on their Journey forward in football or other careers but let's start with the running backs on the offense here Broncos moved on from Tyler batty samaj perine we learned yesterday was either going to get released or traded ultimately they could not find a trade partner so he is released I expect him to have some level of a market uh fullback Michael Burton he was released which means he is a free agent can sign anywhere my guess is the Broncos are going to bring him back soon or place him on their practice squad and Elevate him I don't think his time with Denver is done wide receivers Philip Dorsett Jaylen Virgil and Brandon Johnson the first two not so much of a surprise Brandon Johnson I thought he had a good chance to make it after that final preseason game expect to see him on the Broncos practice squad if he clears the waiver wire you got David Sals Michael Bandy Tim Patrick and Lil Jordan Jord Humphrey the biggest name of the bunch obviously being Tim Patrick to be honest I'm shocked they could not find a trade partner I expect part Patrick to have a good market and I'm going to wish him the best wherever he goes Lil Jordan Humphrey is a shoe in for the Broncos practice squad last year remember Denver only took four receivers on their initial 53 man and then elevated a couple of guys from their practice squad for the first few weeks so I think they're going to have Humphrey on their practice squad Elevate him and if an injury pops up somewhere else they can give him a full-time roster spot on to the tight ends and the rest of the offense uh Hunter Camp Mo Camp mower excuse me offensive lineman in Oliver Jervis veteran Sam muster lost the center battle between himself Luke wattenberg and Alex foresight deantre Jacobs a swing tackle a rookie unfortunately a seventh round pick from South Carolina Nick gargulio did not make the roster will Sherman Calvin throck Morton that one surprised me a little a little bit then some defensive lineman Angelo blackon Matt henningson Elijah Garcia I could see blackon being someone they bring back after a few days and they open up a roster spot because he's a veteran Matt henningson surprised me but once they got Yom wazer back it kind of became a battle for that final spot with him along with uh Jackson as well so hingson I think will have a good Market if he does clear the waiver wire I expect him on the practice squad uh other defensive players released Jordan Miller some linebackers and Alec mock Andre Smith Jonas Griffith who was competing for the starting gig with Cody Bon ultimately completely falls off their roster especially after the pick six that udfa linebacker level Bailey had that I think cemented him on their roster because they knew if we don't keep Bailey and he goes to the waiver wire some team's going to claim him and we're going to regret that so let's go young here if we're going to go young at Patrick and perine why stop there and ultimately a veteran in Griffith who has been injured hasn't played in a few since 2022 is off the team for now uh some linebackers along with those guys dandre Tilman uh derell and chemy I think he'll have a good chance of making the practice squad Thomas enum he made the initial 53 man last year watch for him to come back on the practice squad some DBS art green Rees Taylor Quinton Nome Caleb Hayes a tight end Thomas yasman he's from Australia so he actually does not count towards a roster spot on the practice squad so I fully expect Denver to take advantage of that and add him to the practice squad since it does not occupy one of the 16 spots and then safety Omar Brown and Tanner mallister and then punter Trenton Gill so those are the roster cuts that were made we'll look at the depth charts next but first week one time baby Broncos vers Seahawks if you want to take after a pretty good preseason that theory never made sense to me Jared stum I think is going to be a solid backup for this team wouldn't be shocked if maybe they get some trade calls on either stum or Wilson and move on that and that could be a reason as to why they held on to all three and not release stum since you can't trade STM or Wilson if you release them so if you want more time to work on a trade you got to hold on to those two running backs the udfa pipeline continues Blake Watson one of three udfas I believe that makes the 53 man this year so I mean just an incredible job by this franchise to continue to find quality players after the draft but gavonte Williams Jalil mlin and and rookie audri EST making the initial 53 man this is what I projected outside of Blake Watson I did not have him on my initial 53 man roster but this is going to be I think a pretty good committee backfield all three of those running backs have a good role AEM has kind of got that bowling ball short yardage mentality uh Julia mofin a little bit smaller so a little bit more Elusive and quick and um speedy and then as for javante Williams he's somewhat of a combination of the two now before we look comments and description of today's video As for the wide receivers the Broncos keep five courland Sutton Josh Reynolds Marvin Mims and then rookies Devon V and Troy Franklin I thought by moving on from Tim Patrick that would make Lil Jordan Humphrey or Brandon Johnson almost a lock to make the roster but for now the Broncos keep five I don't think this is something to like panic over five's not a you know egregiously small number anyway they had four last year but they'll add a bunch of those guys to their practice squad and Elevate them on game day but I will say I'm starting to lose the vision a little bit of moving on from Tim Patrick like if the goal was to move on from Tim Patrick to keep some of the younger guys where are the younger guys like I thought the idea would be we're going to release Patrick so we can keep Lil Jordan Humphrey and or Brandon Johnson instead that wasn't the case and you can have them on the practice squad but you can also still have him on your practice squad and have Tim Patrick on your roster so I think for the development of B Knicks that should be factored in a little bit as well when finding a balance between what's good for your rookie quarterback and what's good for the rest of your team and trying to keep it young but I am still struggling to see how this team is better without Tim Patrick than with Tim Patrick even long term so how would you grade the Broncos wide receiver room abcdf this is a room that I could see Denver trying to upgrade via the waiver wire if there are some notable names from the rest of the league that are released that maybe the Broncos like so keep an eye on them to try and add another wide out tight ends you've got Adam tropman Greg dolage Lucas koll and then Nate Atkins who was a udfa last year coming on as a little bit of a Swiss army knife a tight end fullback especially if for whatever reason Michael buron does not come back I could see Atkins filling that role so the tight end room it's not filled with star power but I think it's going to punch above its weight class like Adam tropman had some good games last year Lucas Crow was very impressive in the preseason and we know what Greg dolage is capable of if healthy he's been healthy so far knock on wood offensive line you have your five starters Garrett Bulls Ben Powers Luke wattenberg Quinn Miners and Mike mcglinchy then four backups Matt Pier Alex foresight who won the backup center battle over Sam muster and then udfa Frank crumb out of Wyoming I like that just because of the hair I mean it's an all-time look it looks like a Minnesota hockey tournament however he wasn't blowing me away in training camp so that's a little bit of a surprise like Frank crumb over Tim Patrick if Patrick starts balling out elsewhere that's something you can point to and then Alex palfy who was a udfa last year that made the roster but had a hand injury popup in the preseason season finale so miss pretty much the entire 2023 season he makes the initial 53 man roster this year as well defensive line now as we switch gears Zack Allen DJ Jones John Franklin Meers then you got Jordan Jackson who was Stellar in the pre-season finale two sacks all over the field I don't know if we're talking about Jackson today if he does not have that preseason performance that he did against the Cardinals Malcolm roach is going to rotate in with DJ Jones at nose tackle and then back from suspension Yom wazar who missed all of 2023 after being a fourth round pick out of Iowa State in 20122 he had some good training camp practices and you know spotting here and there so he wins the job over Matt hingson for that final defensive tackle position or second to last defensive tackle position but we'll keep an eye on him I wouldn't be surprised to see him kind of be one of those 52 53 guys on the roster where if the Broncos want to make a wave claim they have to make a corresponding move he could be one of the first guys out linebackers Jonathan Cooper Alex Singleton Cody Barton not only gets the roster spot I believe he wins the starting linebacker role over Jonas Griffith Baron Browning and then Nick Bonito Justin strad Lal Bailey and Jonah Ellis shout out to Bailey a udfa who once again this team continues to find great players after the draft came up with a 94 yard pick six against the Cardinals which I don't think touchdowns or pick sixes make you a lock to make any roster in the NFL but what it does do is you got 31 other teams that have Regional Scouts all across the country like you got a guy who's in charge of monitoring the NFC West and so when he reports back to the war room and if you don't believe me like watch hard knock you see the Bears GM Ryan pole sit down with a full cabinet it looks like Churchill getting completely like um uh getting a rundown on what's going on with the Nazis like you get these Scouts reporting Back To The Head hono And every single Scout that watched the Broncos came away this preseason with level Bailey can play and everyone's definitely going to pop up and notice that when he comes up with a 94 yard pick six as for your Corners now Pat San Riley Moss Jaquan McMillan Levi Wallace tremond Smith and rookie Chris Abrams drain deari matthysse was placed on injured reserve with the design Nation to return so he is out for the first four weeks of the season and if he's healthy they can bring it back after that or if they don't have a roster spot for him they can let him practice and after three weeks they got to make a decision on what to do with him but for now he's on short-term IR as for your safeties Brandon Jones PJ lock uh Devon key kandr smith and JL Skinner man you want to talk about a complete 180 for the room last year it was Justin Simmons Kareem Jackson PJ lock and Kaden Sterns I mean just whole new room essentially outside of PJ lock so Denver going young and they're going with some fun Playmakers out of the preseason that's probably going to have some growing pains in the regular season um hopefully not but we'll wait and see however I do like maybe the direction this room is headed because it may not have a superstar and Justin Simmons but it's got a really good comp competition and committee going at the moment and now for your special teams unit Riley Dixon will Lutz and Mitchell fraboni so that is your initial 53 man roster how many wins for the 2024 Broncos we are a little over one week away from Seattle and Denver kicking things off in the Pacific Northwest I've got the Broncos going 9 and8 this season give me
