boys well done congratulations 11 changes in the starting 11 compared to to the team who played uh during the weekend what was important for things to to go so smoothly today uh I think most importantly 11 changes I think was important to get minutes in the legs um a few debuts people that hav played together before and I think you could see that at times tonight we was a little bit sloppy sometimes in possession but um it's a lot of people's first game of the season as well um but yeah it it was important just come here do business and and that's what we did yeah Jay your only goal for Fulham as a senior player do you remember against who it was 2021 against Birmingham in the same cup yeah what's up with that I don't know I just um like the stadium just yeah um no I just feel like um had a warm welcome when I come and it was good to see all the fans again and obviously I was here to do a job um I'm a fullam player now so I wanted to put the shirt on and we a pride and yeah luck I SC yeah before the match you mentioned that you were looking forward to this fixture you wanted to face Birmingham and a few players might be a bit intimidated in in getting back so early to face them why weren't you why were you so comfortable on the other side um I think it's the part what they played last year to me and made me feel at home um straight away so when I come here it was sort of like a second home so I felt comfortable in myself to go out and put a show on and not show the FM fans what I could do but also show the birmingam fans as well you mentioned the debutes uh Tom and and the link up between him and and Anderson with the through ball was was was quite good as well right no we we know what um Joe can produce from the back he's got he's got tremendous vision for a central Defender and and Jay likes to make them runs but I mean to to do it on yeah Joe's debut what a pass and uh yeah nice finish from Jay we was we was having a bit of baning prematch what he'd do if he'd scored he says he wer going to score we told him to celebrate because enjoy every goal but uh he bottled it yeah you didn't celebrate no I've got I've got I've got respect for the Birmingham fans and um the club itself so I thought it was just right just to keep it cool and could you talk us through the the through ball your movement yeah I think um Jo said a couple minutes ago um just keep making them runs and like I said I kept making them un luckily I stayed on side and was able to bring it down and just pass it past the goal Tom what do you think this team can take from from the experience you had last season in in this tournament in the caral cup um we' love to go one step further I mean um that was probably the biggest game in season uh last year the second leg against Liverpool I mean we lost by one goal to an to an amazing team over two legs but um I think when you come that close to a domestic Cup Final um you won it again and your career feels short in with them opportunities so I'd love to get to to a domestic C final at Wembley well done to both of you please do the honors Jay you're man of the match thank you thank you thank you thank you guys congratulations uh very nice you wouldn't put it past them would you you know ton KY saying they want to go one step further and and get to the final given their squad you know given where other teams priorities might be you wouldn't put it past them no I mean semi-finals last season they've had a taste for it now they've been one step away from it and of course I mean they've got off to a good start with with the win tonight um but I think you know Tom Kenney alluded to it and there was a few loose passes and and understandably so at the stage of the Season they're at and and with the changes they made in the squad but but why not they've got a brilliant manager why not do do you look at them with their changes tonight I think they have got a good squad dep about them yes because you look at it and like I say you look for it I think before the game they said that there were 900 Premier League appearances in that team so you're not short of experience you're not short of Premier League experience so when you look at 211s as such we talk about Man City and Arsenal and all those teams having two 11s not to say it's of the same quality but to know that they can bring all of those players in and any of them could fit in even young Josh King at the end I thought he was brilliant when he came on a highlight of the second half in which was quite dull so um I think they've got a really good chance this year of pushing on and and those players that they have brought in in the main have got Premier League experience yeah they do um and that and that counts for a lot and I think quer at the back with with yakim Anderson Anderson comes in it was it was a signing which raised a few eyebrows I think and you know Crystal Palace leaving leaving Crystal Palace and I know he's got Anderson's got previous connections with Fulham um but he seemed right at home tonight he looks solid he always does um and obviously getting the assist for for the first goal was was sorry the second goal was was excellent um he just saw the pass and sometimes football is that simple isn't it play play Route One and the timing of the Run was excellent and um yeah he's had a real good contribution tonight take take let's go back to the first goal then even even before the hand ball you both think Birmingham maybe will not be happy with the amount of space they allowed for them at the edge of the B yeah because they started the game really well probably on the front foot to be honest at this stage and they could seeed this again 2V1 on the corner goes to Kenny unmarked and I I still think it it's it's harsh but nowadays you're not you're expecting that to be a penalty if we're talking about the tiny little details involved I mean this first touch now from Tom KY is absolutely brilliant he kind of just kisses the ball he he caresses it sets himself right up for the strike and like you say CST it's one of those where the the fen players are appealing straight away and then it's neatly dispatched from gimenez really sort of cool calm penalty to to sort of settle any I mean there wasn't any nerves From fulham's perspective you could tell but um yeah they needed that to get themselves off and give them that cushion it killed any Birmingham momentum that they had from not from great chances but from a little bit of possession that they had at the start of the game you must have huge sympathy for Cochran there though don't you I'm putting myself from a fan point of view you want to see your player doing that you want to see your player throwing themselves at it putting their but you know rather than the hands behind the back and sort of try you know but as a fan you want to see them fly in like that yeah well as a Defender you're not allowed to defend properly anymore unfortunately that's just the way it is and and this is without V so the referee has to make an instinct call he hasn't got V to rely on he makes the call my instinct at first was hul so I can't lie sitting here so I guess a split second decision isn't it it's all very well for us to say maybe stand up or whatever but in that Split Second you see he's about to shoot you throw yourself at it yeah and I think like I said earlier I think the first touch from Tom K he makes that all happen if he hits it first time you know Cochran's not got time to get out to him Tom ky's decided to take the touch it's brought cocking closer to him and at that point where he's about to strike the ball he just throws his body at it and and it's it's terribly unfortunate From birmingham's perspective because in that first nine minutes they'd had a good start and to concede a penalty it does disrupt the momentum a little bit and and sort of application at the start of the match and maybe that threw them with the second as well where they just didn't get themselves back into position from the quick free kick yeah absolutely and this is again you know sort of quick play from Fulham we spoke at halim dead ball you know they win it back and this at this point here Burmingham sort of sort of switch off a little bit they sort of use that extra minute to sort of slide across the pitch and Anderson he puts a really nice disguise on that long ball through to Stanfield and the the decision to strike it at the moment he does I think is exceptional but we highlighted lead at halime the the right back for birmingam you can see there in in picture if he's starting to slide across to the right he has to pass on to his Center back partner and he can't pass on until he's got the call from from his Center back partner that he's got him he's secure and that just allows Stanfield to go I'm saying that with a center half s next to me he's notd in his head so I presume I'm right but um I think at this point that's Curtis for people who can't say he's under the head of I think he strikes it exactly the right time Stanfield it's a really nice finish and the frustration for me is even when LED makes the step to the right once the ball does go over his head he doesn't actually even recover at that point so as Center a half if I'm playing beside him I'd be going crazy to there's also credit to the run from Stansfield isn't got it he sees to space and maybe with all dis respect he knows Ethan and maybe he knows that he wants to play on the front foot and the way that they want to press he's maybe been a bit too literal so it allows the space and his first touch wasn't his best but once he sort it out I think his his record at St Andrews kind of speaks for itself so he gets the goal how how how do you manage him going forward now so he's we met he's had two good efl loans he's now back he'll get some minutes he's got a couple of experienced Strikers in front of him H where do you use him how do you use him depending on the draw in this cup obviously they want to go far but we see today they've obviously made 11 changes so he might be able to get a few more games in this competition if the draw is let's say favorable um but I think a big thing for him is now he has effectively kicked on into a first team player he doesn't want to be that one that's frustrated and sitting there and kind of loses his his kind of edge but you know we saw we not comparing him for any any Instinct but um foden with Man City saying we want to keep him here we want to keep an eye on him we want to keep him training around that group so maybe being in and around that group might be the best thing for him this season he he doesn't strike me as the type of lad who is going to complain I mean of course every player wants to play but you know from his interviews we we spoke to him pre-match we spoke to him with postmatch and we've got a really good insight into the way he plays I mean I thought the humility on no celebration although Tom KY said he bottled it he clearly you know the KY wanted him taking his shirt off and swing it around his head the level of humility and I think that he he looks me like he's got a brilliant attitude and to to sort of keep chomping away in that training environment and push himz push mun and obviously just work his way into into game minutes they had chances Bermingham there there are plenty of positives for them despite going out tonight aren't there yeah I think sometimes it just came down to that final bit of quality I think um in the first half they had the chance cleared off the line talking about the difference in defensive instincts between castan and Lead You know here kesi Anderson patient play great ball kesi Anderson really clever run clever header but understand you the difference is he switched on to the danger he knows the danger Alie made but once the ball got starts going towards the line he Retreats towards the line and clears it off I still can't believe how good that header was kesi Anderson wasn't it it was just such a difficult skill great awareness and you know castania like you say Curtis has done a brilliant job uh covering his goalkeeper but I really like that movement from Birmingham the one short one long exploiting the space in behind and you know they nearly got their rewards I mean they have some attacking options don't they I mean looking ahead for a long League one season and you have to man manag your squad there Chris Davis has got a lot of attacking options there yeah for a league one Squad it's it's incredible and you speak about the different types you've got a Tyler Roberts you've got a jovic as well as an Alie May um I'm not sure whether or not Davis will ever use jovic in the way that he traditionally has been used you know direct balls up to him holding up the ball but in terms of if you want to get balls into the box there's no one better in that League than than jovic they also had a free kick which which gave him a chance the end of that first half and we talk about fine margins it would have been it like you say TR it would have it would have changed the dynamic at halim um for the team talk uh this is a brilliant free kick by the way he completely beats you know beats the goalkeeper and he he's unfortunate but it would have definitely um added a bit of spice to the game uh it certainly would let's show you some of the other goals uh from around the carabar cup this evening fantastic win uh for Stoke at the Riverside they won by five goal still middlesburg in the semi-finals last year he won't be be in round three this season Lewis kumas who is on loan from getting one of the goals for Steven schumaker's S Battle of former Manchester United players at vicarage Road in the dugouts Tom cleverly against Wayne Rooney and it was Watford and Tom cleverly who ran out the winners mlet Ric getting both of the Watford goals here and he has got three for the season and they are into the third round and there was a shock at Ewood Park League one Blackpool beating Championship side Blackburn Hayden Coulson with the winner here they're the top scorers in all four divisions of Blackburn uh and Blackpool are under the intering manager uh Richard Kio at the moment after they got rid of uh Neil kitley so that's a big win for them and you can see all the goals on the Sky Sports app if you just scan that QR code on your screen now and you know Richard Kio Curtis from your your time together at derby um you had an interesting game at the weekend where blackp 4-1 up at Cambridge and threw that away and Drew four all so that's a big win for him tonight it's massive because obviously having come in into him almost not expected to to have the job as such but to have that 4-1 lead and he thought he'd crack it obviously and unfortunately obviously Cambridge came back and upset his his game but to come into this game against Blackburn a free scoring Blackburn this season and to to go to their place and win a game is fantastic for Richard and I'm delighted for him uh okay we're going to hear from both changes compared the the weekend and two days to prepare this match what was important for things to jail and especially for the team to manage the game so well yes it was really important of course the way we started was was crucial um we knew that we are going to play um doesn't doesn't matter the division they are uh we know that the type of club we are playing against and normal all the crowd here is is always um um really important for them and you knew that you are going to play against a team that and normally would play with a good Dynamic good dynamic good energy as well and of course um it was crucial for us to start the way we started um to try to punish them we know that I like to build from the back our our first pressure in the first moments of the game and um should be crucial and I think we did it and of course winning to nil after um we manage the game in a little bit in a different way um as you said 11 changes is always um big number of course quality individual players but most of them they never play together it's the first time they play together uh five debutes in the starting 11 in our in our shirt and of course with the Josh um second half as well we are talking about uh six players and they never play together some of them they they just have two or three sessions together is always not not the easy situation but I I like some moments now other not so so good I think we gave many times the ball away when we should keep the possession a little bit more and after playing in our way but other things they were really good I think the the composion in our defensive organization oh because they had good number of Corners how we were strong in that moment how we were able to to control you well and of course um I have to congratulate the players because it's not easy never when I manager change 11 players the quality is there but in Collective point of view is always difficult yeah could you talk a little bit more about the debutes especially Anderson already with an assist and and Burge because there was a lot of expectation in that position after Jean pal left the club yes and as I said before the match and uh um cerber is going to take more time he he didn't have a normal Pro season and when I took him off was not no no more energy was really difficult for him to keep the the intensity of that game demands from from you uh we expected him and you plan for him to play around 60 minutes and of course in that moment was physical point of view was much more difficult for him and the the the decision was was prepared before before the game started as well Anderson is different is already with the games in his legs he played the the the first premier league game um at Palace and of course he he is ready for the the 90 95 minutes and two completely different situations um two premier league players to proven Premier League players that they are going to help us for sure with Jay he's young he doesn't have a lot of Premier League experience almost nothing but but he seems very composed and and and already mature so how ready do you see him no he's he's ready when we we we took some decisions about team the last two seasons first to have some um some months in League one next last season a championship of course we have been planning planning with him step by step for him to be ready uh the decision last last season was for him to to go to have senior football at at Champions Champion League Championship level and he had it made a a massive impact at at Bingham football club and of course you can see it the way the the reception that he had and all that stuff now he's he's in our football club is's with us and he's going to be part of the squad quite a good inside that isn't it is he into into the balances that a premier league manager has to take into account in these first couple of months of a season with with players arriving in with all sorts of different levels of fitness and mat sharpness yeah without a doubt it must be a real challenge for for any manager and their back room staff as well because a lot of the dialogue comes around the the physical Readiness of every player so you need your medical team you need your physical performance coaches involved in those discussions we know having been there as a player it's very frustrating because you think your match fit and then you get held back back and you know the other way around you're sometimes playing under fatigue during preseason so this is the early stages and everything will start to iron out but bringing in five new signings embedding them into the squad is really important Fulham have done that tonight but as a fan it is as well I'm not saying this is Fulham fans I'm saying all football fans oh play our new signing play our kids get get we want to see them we want to see them they've got to take an awful lot into account yeah they do um I think fans will always be that way but if they lost that round for for making 11 changes they might have a different uh say on it but um yeah it's important for clubs both the fans to see the players but also to see how they get on together because I said that was a full different 11 but they managed to play a good good performance a few loose passes but all in all quite good today quite comfortable uh and from Marco Silva we will go to Chris Davis again with n Chris not the result you wanted but I imagine you're proud of of a lot of things you you saw from your team tonight yeah definitely um I think we can be proud the players can be proud of of their efforts um first mostly the uh the work ethic um and the running that they got through was uh was really pleasing cuz you know they left it all out there and couldn't ask from for any more from any of them on that side of things so um yeah excellent and um yeah I thought we were thought we were the better team we we played really well with the ball um maybe in the final third we we we lacked that little bit of U invention or to create space for a shot um but we had one cleared off the line we hit the bar we've we've we've created some good situations so yeah proud of the players but but disappointed um in the uh in the result obviously yeah those final decisions do you think it was just um it's more a matter of time or or do you think tonight with the occasion the players were maybe a little bit more anxious no the players weren't anxious at all I think you if you think they're anxious then obviously you're not really watching the same game because they played incredible football they were um excellent in the buildup um they were working the ball really really well but again maybe in the final third the the movement wasn't quite there or the the final touch but um our decisions generally were good but the big decision that obviously went against us was was early in the game which um you know it's it's one of those things that you know you're playing against an opposition like Fulham um top quality team and it was a quality game but the quality of that um decision for the penalty was was genuinely genuinely one of the poorest decisions I've seen for a long time um and I'd like to think if there was V I believe there wasn't V if there was V then that would be overturned because that the impact that has on a on the game to give a team a head start because of a um decision like that is um yeah hard to measure really because it gets them a a foot up in the game and we have to now come from behind against a really good team but it's not the fact that we've we've considered a penalty you can sometimes do that but the actual decision for a player to be running out of the box and and try and um close the ball down to give a penalty for that as a hand ball for me is genuinely one of the poorest I've seen in a long time so um that was very very disappointing um unnecessary and uh and it made made a bit of a mountain for us to climb but the response was was excellent from the players do you think the handball rule is is not clear enough or was it just a poor decision from the referee and do you think maybe V at that in this stage of the competition could could help in this sense yeah I think if there's V if two people think that's a hand ball then I'll be surprised um so especially if it's if it's slow down um it's nothing to do with a hand ball rule it's just not hand ball um so um very disappointing unfair on on Alex um and and the players that that's happened um like I said a game full of quality um football I felt um but but not a quality decision and and ultimately that has a big impact on the game yeah as we mentioned initially a lot of positives from from your team how do you think you're dealing with so with the high expectations you've been facing throughout the season because everybody's expecting kind of expecting continue to to come back straight to the championship yeah it's something we have to embrace uh and enjoy you know you you'd rather have um expectations and be a team that's looking to achieve something than than down the other end of the table I would say so um yeah something we have to embrace and enjoy um you know each game is is a difficult game in in the league or cup or whatever it is it's a game of football and they're all difficult and I've made it pretty clear in every um kind of um interview I've had that the challenge we have is really big this season irrelevant of of some of the good play we had tonight we now have another game on the weekend which is which is a big challenge it's a really hard League um and and it's not going to be easy for us so we have to be ready every game to deliver a performance full of work and quality like we did tonight and we'll give ourselves a chance but um um that's what we'll focus on now is recovering and getting ready for the weekend thank you Chris thank you you can understand his anger particular when he talks about how it impacts a game so early on but different people are going to have different opinions on that and and you two do you you you both went down the side of it being a a handall yeah I I think we've got the benefit of watching it on TV of course um and my instinct watching the TV live was that it was a hble um and once you see it back I don't believe it's that terrible terrible decision I do think it's harsh but with the current hand balls and everything you see I've seen plenty of these given so I can't say it's the worst decision I've ever seen but but I do think it is Harsh equally we've probably all seen ones that haven't been given as well which sums up this I mean he said it wasn't I think we would all disagree with him that it probably is the state of the handball law that causes the confusion I mean God know expert media container codec betray we dive deeper into the issue of expert formats you can export not the entire frame but you can crop it here you should open source and cop the output video let's say you want a square video this is a small thing that is useful to know about so in what formats to Output the video basically I have two typical situations the first is quick time for example I need to save a video in maximum quality not in order to transfer it to someone because there are professional codex here the progress and GoPro uniform codex may not even play in ordinary player such videos don't need to be given to clients this is most often actual for technical Masters that work on TV channels this may be a technical requirement of the channel for the format for which their equipment works with or I save it for myself when I need to pass it on to someone for color correction I need maximum video quality in situations where the material will go into thir work there is a a common situation that helps to save time when rendering it's absolutely a TV story here there is such a function as much sequence settings and let's say you have the sequence configured with internal quick time codic and apple press 422 high quality there are CICS that work with this and there are CICS that don't work with such a system you click M sequence settings then click export for example the previews have been calculated in your project then if the container matches the QuickTime preview and the QuickTime export file if the internal progess Cod matches the progess expert it won't calculate it all over again but you to Simply combine these files into one container in this case it will take you not 2 hours to render the program but 10 minutes because there will be a simple file copying instead of rendering and if you need to urgently hand in files in 1 hour but the rendering takes 2 hours this will be an absolutely impossible task there is the best option to render in small pieces during the editing process then we just put the render at the end only in order for it copies the preview files as a rule all professional codex support this there will be apple progress if you have configured the internal sequence codic if you have configured the internal expert and external expert this will be GoPros uniform you need to remember two containers quick time and mxf they support the workflow and accordingly not with all codex but only with their own ones there are progess GoPro uniform DVS Pro mxf op they allow you to make a quick workflow and almost instantly drive it out into large programs if we have an internal H 264 sequence codic you have calculated it and you have a similar expert you can relax everything rub culated in any way it's necessary to enable the mat sequence settings and use previous checkboxes so it will copy all these things codex are of this kind there is each frame that is written separately or long go between the places where key frames are recorded there is a change in these key frames this is how h264 works it is a long go codic although we can make each frame as key in it then we'll only have interframe compression interframe compression will be removed the file will get bigger but I don't know what it is for these settings are usually sufficient let's move on to the issue of rendering for YouTube and other platforms we output for YouTube in the H 264 codc because YouTube YouTube will convert it to this format in any way don't think that your video will remain the same without conversion in any case YouTube will convert it with its own settings there is no matter what video will put there therefore you can choose H 264 so there are many different presets here but in fact what prets are really needed here previously the were two presets March Source High bit rate and March Source medium bit rate how do they differ we take March Source medium bet rate and look at the video settings here are all the check boxes that it copied from the sequence parameter therefore it called March Source it takes the settings of frame size frequency pixels Etc from the media source and what about medium bit rate it sets such setting as Target bit rate three and maximum bit rate six M Source High bit rate is the same only there is Target bit rate 10 and maximum rate 12 let's say we have a smaller video size because here is a video with extension 640 to 360 why does it need a 10 megabit bit rate and when you output 4K 10 megabit won't be enough for you that is why there are such presets as Mar Source adaptive High bit rate Mar Source adaptive medium bit rate and Mar Source adaptive low bit rate let's consider Mar Source adaptive medium bit rate we look at the settings it's 640 to 360 for video it considers the target bit rate is 1.1 at the average and the maximum bit rate is 1.4 if we take another sequence for example this one and choose the same much Source adaptive medium bet trade so here we have Ford and it offers an optimal value for Target bit rate is 9.5 and the maximum is 11.9 it recalculate it depending on the size of a video it bit rate that is average for it it also recalculates which is maximum bit rate and which is sufficient one if we need the maximum value we will choose adaptive High bit rate here you already see such values as Target is 15.2 and Max it's 19 we choose the peret depending on what stage we need for example if this is some intermediate un important version then we'll choose adaptive low bit rate therefore the file will be several times smaller compared to Adaptive hbit rate but the visual quality will be normal what is the difference between the maximum and the minimum you won't see visually the difference there and there but the difference will be noticeable after converting to YouTube or after col correction if you leave the video in the home or there will be no difference therefore we feel free to set low bit rate for intermediate versions We will use hbit trate for final versions when we already upload them to YouTube or give them to someone here is such a simple arithmetic if you want to dive deeper let's look at what vbr 1 Pass vbr 2 pass and CBR are CB is a constant bit rate the bit rate doesn't change during encoding as you put CBR we have only one slider left we can no longer choose the maximum all videos will be encoded with a bit rate of nine if I choose vbr one pass it will be already called variable bit rate the bit rate changes depending on what is happening in the image Target bit rate is the average bit rate if there are a lot of actions in the image we don't want to fall on the pixels it needs to increase the bit rate it will increase to the maximum and it will fall below the target value in the minimum there is a static frame a black field little information on average the average bit rate will be nine in total for the entire video for example it will change from 5 to 15 depending on the saturation of a frame this is the difference of variable bit rate and constant bit rate variable bit rate gives more quality but it has longer encoding what is one pass and two pass this is bitrate that is encoded either in one pass or in two pass the quality will be slightly higher in two passes than in one but the time will be longer in two times but again you won't see the difference visually if you want the real maximum then you should enable this checkbox in two passes here you can set the same key frame distance by default it's disabled and there is 90 if there run 90 frames at 25 FPS the key frame will be every 4 seconds this can be compared to the moment when you watch a movie the video abely loses its quality and then it immediately returns it after 2 seconds it was just the key frame after 2 seconds further all changes to the image are calculated from this key frame you can even set set each frame as a key frame if you use a Time tuna in the effects then here you can set how it will speed up Slow Down the video by default therefore you can ignore this checkbox if you don't use the time tuner that's all we move on
