Prestatyn today - high street and what's happening with Pontin's

hey everyone right so today we are in prostatin um it is another update Vlog at the minute um because a couple of things has changed um probably since the last time um well the last time we did the the Vlog anyway but maybe from the last time you visited um so we'll take you to places we don't actually normally go to you know like the beach in prati we tend to go into real um but the beach here is lovely so maybe you should give that a try um access isn't necessarily the best for anyone in a wheelchair as a prenote just to let everyone know um but it is a lovely area um and then maybe we'll have a walk around near the fift and drive up the High Street see if anything's changed well I think we'll make it a drivey one um it is really really hot have a bit of a drivey one and then um yeah we might we might just have a have a have a walk around the FR or area and see what's what with that so anyway we've come from the reil direction and we might as well pass um pon whilst we're here as that um there's been a bit of local news on that now it's nothing's been confirmed that anything is actually happening with it but there has been um talks so shall take a left down here sign for ponent is still up along with the Holiday Camp signs and if we try and angle the camera that way a bit more you'll get a bit better view so passing the golf course on your right and here is the entrance to pontins as slow as we can it's 20 M hour around here anyway all right so as you can see hopefully it is really overgrown I mean literally it's the grass is engulfing the football net that's how tall it's getting um anyway right so the news was there were talks that Bings could be interested in purchasing the site which would be absolutely excellent because p p Butlins are still going strong um it keeps it as a Holiday Camp they've got very or had very similar values and very similar things like with the entertainment and stuff like that so hopefully not much would change other than the standards standards would be raised hopefully so that would be good the local MP has actually met with and people from pontins at the site so we haven't had any outcome from that yet but that's a positivity fingers cross that carries on um so yes this is still the back of Ponting passing the Beach's Hotel they actually bought Chalet off ponage years ago they're still available to rent sign for the park being shut a lot of the windows that were open on our last visit are now closed but this area itself is worth visit so on your right um is the beach so the disabled access actually would have been as we come to the car park um a bit early around just P past pontings and they've got bits where you launch boats so that would be that there would be ramps there so that would be my thoughts of where disabled access would be if that makes any sense whatsoever everything round here you can't park here between no May and September um unless you have obviously have disabled badge we have our Cades on the right not sure how well that's picking it up with a little cafe we've got crazy golf which we actually did when um it was holiday on the buses that footage is actually due to come up I'm going to pop it up on the anniversary of it um CU we got here and then we've got an ice cream store and that's the gym and swimming pool and no NOA and back you've got um The Hut which is um license bar E3 and there to do um like Events St like um they did a beup start it and stuff like that so that's actually really it's a really good you can have a really good night out there and again you can't get out up here I should have remembered this from last time so we will have to turn around I think last time we turned around in there didn't we yes we did not sure these houses were done up like this last time they're nice must take a lot of Maintenance with the um sea air causes um paint peeling and all sorts right so you can see there's a little path there all right so I think we'll meet you our next next destination which will be the f no it will be the high Street we'll drive up the High Street then we'll head to the F that was really quick I actually fig you going to get a better view of the park and the amusements from this direction so we'll do that and then we'll beet you on the High Street 350 senior citizens the golf 4 pound for adults and three pound for children that has been there for years and they actually did a um like a tournament like I think it said the World Tournament I don't know whether it was world or North Wales I can't remember but it was a tournament for those who don't know we're coming up on to um one entrance to the train station parking here for that I think you can park from as little well this is going back again years ago so it might it may have gone up but the parking charges I think were something like 30p for half an hour and then then it went up and up but yeah I think it started around 30p for half an hour over the Railway Bridge Home Bargains to the left that's a relatively new store but the Cook House hairdressers the opposite side of the train station and there is parking there as well and you can park there for free but it is limited or is it actually H I'll have to find that out because it depends if it is part of the test girl's car part the Tesco's car park is limited to 3 hours but I don't know whether that is part of it hm I'll have I'll have to check next time we're down there I'll have to check to see if they signage for it because if it's free and uh I mean there's not many spaces but free is [Music] free still yet to try the um Float Center now this isn't taking us right from the bottom of the High Street so there are um a few pubs down the bottom do that on fo another day we work quick enough [Music] so it's uh Wednesday it's quite busy down here what time are we at4 3 so it is relatively busy school kids coming out think that might be a new travel agents that building's been sold so we'll end up with somebody else in there hopefully there's not actually that many empty units um on the High Street and to be fair there were a lot of banks on the High Street so obviously when they cloth they're quite big buildings to fill so [Music] all right so we will head to the fift to got Aldi and whatnot back here um there is a little to the right uh f the down this is at roundabout there are a lot of red lights working against us [Music] today this road gets really um congested um certain times through the day because and again all these bins have been emptied still oh Bing gate Bing gate Bing gate um The High Street looks tidy actually that was that was a mess the other day anyway sorry um completely sidetracked I forgot what we were on about so we'll start with something else probably come back to it so this is the old BT building I don't know what it is with BT buildings everywhere reals is the mess Mor the mess they just they just seem to look derel it is still in use I mean the vs are outside it so must be using it there's little on your left and the bus station also it's good to note with the bus station they do um like a daily Rover buses so if you are using the bus regularly it would be it would be worth it CU they they're quite well I think they're quite expensive for single trips um if you were using them a lot but the daily one's not too bad because you can travel I think you can travel as far as angle say it's all sort of one price now I'm sure I'm not sure I think on the as we come here on the left no it's on the right there is uh the new Coop and the new Gregs when I say new it is probably a few years old I've Ste foot in the Co in the co-op once so that's why it still feels very new there to the right what else do we have around here might be of interest 3.99 a pound don't know whether that's cheap or not doesn't sound particularly to advertise it doesn't sound particularly cheap see what we going up to the fift in a minute I think that's where we'll park the Caravan Park it's only a small one it's t of you are super close to the beach head to the sign beach now then there was talk that the fift was closed on Facebook connect but you can never 100% go off that as a pure fact so I thought we' have a quick look now we've been here many times not for actually not in a while to be honest because it shut through covid and then we never really came back but we's see what it's saying hygiene rating four yeah we will be close until further notice sorry for any any inconvenience C or no actual reason in of why it's shot just that it's shut I think we'll park here anyway and go over the road okay so there's the F there right so we have been this way before but I think actually it was only on the live I don't think we've actually took around this area for any other reason now years and years and years ago well in the more recent times we've had quads and whatnot on here um behind the actual building there is a park there is bowls I always get lost on here I don't know how um but years and years ago they it used to be like a proper entertainment area what's this now oh look all them right not been there knowbe we should give that a go so that's there I can see it now Cafe and C at the cafe down there that's the bows [Applause] the path up there is to the [Applause] beach now I'm sure this building here can be accessible via these paths and I'm not actually sure it is anymore the beach access obviously is you just keep following it around and up up and over to there but I'm not sure you can actually get to that [Applause] [Applause] building great nature these paths are really overrun overgrown [Applause] it's down here anyway the point of me taking to this building if I can get us there is there is a a bowling alley pool a bar I think you can get stuff to eat from there there is a caravan park behind it a tour park um they do have a main entrance I don't know why we're trying to come through the back here it's a bit odd hm yeah this this was one of the entrances but obviously they've aled everything since we were last here but you can see they've got a beer garden area there I just think they're leaving this for whatever reason they're leaving this area unemp see it's got the potential oh they've blocked that area at that entrance off as well it's really strange it's got the potential to be absolutely gorgeous they just don't spend the money on things same as everything else I suppose they' blocked that path oh cuz that used to be a bridge right okay yeah so they are they I think they're leaving this to go wild um maybe we'll try the cafe today and we'll try baring there with a bowling alley another day look how busy it is I'd say judge from that it's um it's rather popular and more cars and more cars coming down might have to give that one a go
