giving my unsolicited pop culture hot takes

introduction hi guys it's me Abby we're back in a world where most people I feel like on the internet are all scared of having their own opinions and we all try to like have the same one on things I've got a few controversial pop culture takes that I have a feeling a lot of you are going to disagree with I feel like therefore I should preface this by it's not that serious I will probably act very serious for a lot of stuff but it's not basically like we can have differing opinions your opinion is valid and so is mine so I'm going to spill mine and you can spill yours in the comments and we can just like have a constructive conversation maybe that being said let's get into it and we're also going to be eating some nice little fried food at wings while we go through these hot noah kahan takes okay first one is going to be that I don't like no Kahan Kahan kahim I don't know I also have fried mushroom I'm so excited sorry guys I'm hungry and admittedly uncomfortable still okay guys where was I I need one not greasy hand for my notes I hate not con maybe hate is like a really strong word although sometimes I don't know I get so into like invested in like musicians and stuff that like sometimes it feels a little strong to be honest like I don't know if I can be like I don't hate him I don't hate him but I just like I don't know why but I get like industry plant Vibes for him I also just feel like his music is very overhyped like I think like if he'd come out had his original album then like another one by now and was like I don't know I'm just like when there's one album I guess it's not even true because I love chapel Ro but when there's one album it's a really hard for me to get behind and I guess chavel rone does have more than one but like it's kind of comparable there but it's like it's hard for me to be like he's super talented when I don't have that much to go off of and all of his work seems very similar and I don't know it's just not viy to me it doesn't feel authentic to me from him and I feel like a lot of people like him for his authenticity so I know you guys are going to disagree but alas there's so many people guys there's so many people and maybe because they've driven past it she just like own my [ __ ] but I'm okay guys we'll be back okay guys so we found a new spot um this time we have a don't win the background super cool we're back by the interstate so sorry about that and if you hear the bugs in the background that's the lovely Ambiance of cicadas I always like to have a little ambient touch for you guys that makes it border line impossible to hear me so I hope that makes you respect my opinions that much more because this mind I'm just kidding guys sometimes when I'm editing there's so many jokes where I'm trying to be like Ultra sarcastic that just don't even land with me I'm like you stupid [ __ ] I'm cutting it out so we'll see what happens to that tiktok one next opinion this one I hate myself even hearing it come out of my mouth because I hated [ __ ] who said this but I don't like Tik Tok anymore I don't watch it I deleted it from my app sometimes when I'm being really chronically online though and I'm like seeing drama on Reddit I'm not even going to lie I definitely downloaded it on his phone so I could go in stock like my favorite creators not even my favorite creators but creators who are involved in stuff on their Tik Tok so I could be caught up but that's all so I've watched probably 10 Tik toks um that's embarrassing I'm chronically online that's a problem but regardless sorry burp deleting Tik Tok has been so good for me because I would just SP all day on there and I mean I still spend a lot of my day watching YouTube content but I feel like the difference is is so much of my time was like mindlessly scrolling on Tik Tok whereas YouTube I intentionally choose like 90% of the videos and if I don't like it and it's not bring me some sort of sustenance as a video then I don't watch anymore of it and so I feel like I get a lot more out of watching YouTube versus like Tik Tok it's like a lot of it just brings this like Dread to my day and so when I hear other girls saying like oh like Del leading Tik Tok was so good for me I be like you're you're lame go to Instagram reals babe which I used to when Tik Tok first started popping off I was an Instagram reals girl I'm still an Instagram reals girl now I don't watch it nearly as much as Tik Tok cuz it doesn't get you like locked in the same but like I don't know I just think that Tik Tok for me was like honestly really draining on my mental health and it's funny because I did even realize it while I was doing it like I was in denial anyway so I know a lot of you will probably be saying like ah I love Tik Tok I'm never going to stop watching it well let me just say that was me a couple months ago and guess what your [ __ ] doesn't watch it anymore so be careful you might turn into me be careful before you go and comment because a couple months might pass by and you might not watch Tik Tok anymore or maybe I'm [ __ ] taylor swift wrong this one scares me to even say on the internet cuz I know Stan Community Stan culture is honestly truly terrifying it's terrifying and that is not to offend you st you're just very powerful and intimidating people and you're a little scary and I think you know that I think you know that so is it really that insulting probably not that being said though I don't like Taylor Swift I used to like be very neutral towards her I'm not even like Pro hater of her cuz like a lot of people I have to agree do hate on her because like she is a successful woman so and a lot of people are like talking about discontent for her a lot of things can just turn into misogyny I'm not going to lie about that I don't really care about the whole football thing I'm just kind of like I just don't get the point besides the Super Bowl and showing a million celebrities at every game but they do that everywhere so it's like it's not just Taylor slip it's interesting to say the least but it's not just her those aren't the reasons I don't like her I think it's just because it feels very inauthentic like her as a person at this point and like it just feels like a curated story of a person rather than a real life person like I don't know a lot of her friendships feel like they've are constructed for business reasons and not necessarily always friendship I could be wrong I don't know I don't know I'm just your local dumb [ __ ] on the internet so that's fine we can disagree but it's like a lot of it just seems like constructed for business business rather than like being authentic and actually doing it because she wants to do it feel like a lot of the good things she does is for the good press it's like I'm always a big person of like okay well if you're going to do the good thing do it in secret and I don't really hear about a lot of things after the fact like it doesn't feel like they Secrets when she's doing good things it feels like PR PL maybe maybe not I'm glad that somebody does good things like the truck or bonus that she did but I don't know at the end of the day I just feel like anyone who like feels inauthentic to to me I personally just like am not going to watch a ton and I don't know I think a lot of her newer albums are not that great I probably last got like super like interested in like Taylor Swift music for like probably a couple of reputation songs I don't know after those songs it's like I really just didn't hear this new Taylor Swift song that like I had to have I had to have on a playlist had to listen to all the time it really fell flat for me but I am a big fan of a throwback I can't even lie can't even hate that hard and never play Taylor Swift again despite my feelings on it I don't know it just feels like very fake at this point I don't know the emails with Scott Swift are a little fishy it's all just a little bit iffy to me so I just don't really love her and I don't know and an internet full of people just like pretending to be a Swifty for the clout I'm going to be the one person volunteering to be doxed by the Swifty I'm just kidding please glen powell don't this one makes me scary too and this is another like plan of stands that is like I feel like would also try to like ruin my life for just saying I don't like them and again remember guys my opinion means nothing you can bully me in the comments you know that's a right it's my right to delete your comment though too so think twice but I don't like Glen pal I don't like it I don't like it I don't like it and I really haven't liked him that much since the first thing I saw on him it was that like Netflix romcom I think it's called like set it up or or something was like Zoe the mom from switch of birth daughter that Zoe personally I find him very average even in that first movie that I watched of him he wasn't bad I'm not saying he's a horrible actor I just think he's an average actor he's not that great he's not great enough that I want to see him in every single movie every single role playing basically like a similar character or a similar character archetype even if they're not doing the same thing I don't want to see him in different costumes I don't want to see him in another reboot I'm good I'm good I'm a certified Glen pal hater Glenn pal if you see this I'm sorry I'm sorry I just don't love friends it this one I don't know I keep saying like no this one's going to get me in trouble but this one is for friends oh my goodness friends I don't even know where I can even start on Friends cuz I'm going to say I don't like it but I'm not going to say it's the worst show ever I'm not going to trash you for liking it I just think and so many places it's really slow it takes a long time to pick up on it's just not super entertaining for me I love a show that's got drama consistently not that they don't but it just feels like a lot of it's like just drawn out I feel like a lot of jokes are like eh for me it just like in some points a lot of points ends up falling flat for me so it's never really a go go to for me except when I was a kid and that was all there was on cable at my grandparents house and sometimes I'd put on friends sometimes but it's just not my favorite show of that Time genre I will say though aesthetically it's a very good show just like the visuals the sets their costuming love it everybody loves a good 90s throwback with friends but like I don't know at the end of the day I wish I liked it I do but I don't I don't and I know that's unpopular I mean I know all of these are unpopular but I I know that one is a lot of people are going to be like what's wrong with you but I'm just like I don't know I could see myself loving it but I just think like if it were sped up I think they take a long time to get through like with the really like Punchy parts of the plot and like friends throughout the seasons and it's like so much of it feels like filler to me I'm like you could probably have done it on like five episodes of season to me 10 episodes reboot movies Max I have to preface this one though but this one might not be that hot of a take this one might be the lukewarm take okay I'm tired of reboot movies I'm tired of it I'm sick I am sick of seeing it I think it's because I always want to have such high hopes because you grow up on these movies they become like a big part of like who you were at that time it's very nostalgic and then you see a reboot and it's [ __ ] like trash it's just trash it feels like you're being spit in the face because you love the original so much feel like an old an old person that feels offensive I feel like an elder who's like nobody appreciates how they did it back in my day it wasn't even my day I'm aware of that because I was a baby so my generation was not making the content but it's like it was such a big part of my childhood and when I see a reboot that's so bad it makes me want to [ __ ] both cry and like punch the wall I'm not that crazy maybe punch a pillow you know I don't know it just makes me so irritated I just can't I just can't I'm not advocating for violence maybe I need therapy but like the reboots drive me crazy they drive me so crazy because it's like why did you make it besides the money why did you make it and I always want to have high hopes maybe some of them will be good I'm hoping Beetle Juice is good but it's another one of those where I'm like did you do it because like it's a really good storyline and I haven't seen it yet so maybe it's really [ __ ] good CH or take W Winona why did I say it like that Winona riter is an amazing actress so like it could be really good but my fear is that you never really know the reboot movie cuz it's kind of like the rule of sequels is that it's never as good as the original and sometimes it just like almost ruins the whole thing for you so I'm hoping B just is good I always like have a little bit of Hope but it's like I think it's just so hard to outdo an original so it's kind of like unless you have a good storyline best left untouched best left untouched so hopefully the ones that are already coming out are good fingers crossed here's influencer podcasts hoping okay this is the last one and I know this one is also lukewarm is is is but I feel like all of them have been hot enough hot enough CES so it's okay this one is I don't like influencer podcast and I kind of feel like that might be a little bit of a hot fake cuz I know a lot of people are into like Trisha pises podcast people were into cancelled before controversies a lot of people still into it I don't know there's other stuff like dropouts giggly Squad but I don't I watch those things so little that like I'm not 100% sure that that's like the title of the podcast don't be mad at me I just think it's like you can't I don't know you can't make your main job like making your videos necessarily anymore like you have to turn to like a podcast to talk about a whole bunch of life stories like I just don't think everybody should have a podcast I don't I don't I don't think everybody needs to give their pop culture takes even though that's what I'm doing right now but I don't think everybody needs like on a weekly basis catch people up like it's The Wendy Williams Show like let's just be honest you're not going to be her nobody's ever going to be her Wendy Williams is the only Wendy Williams I'm sorry um this isn't hate to any specifically of those podcasts by the way but I'm sure a lot of people will feel targeted by me mentioning them but it's just like I don't know I I've been an enjoyer of podcast by influencers and I've also been a hater of them and I think it's just because like a lot of the time it feels like an afterthought a lot of the time it feels like they're not really researching it super well a lot of the time even when it does feel thought out it just feels like what's the point like what is this I don't know or should this person be talking on this so I don't know I'm just kind of like not everybody needs one for shits and giggles I'm tired of also having like 10 billion year long ad reads on every single one of these podcasts with like six ad breaks for an hour long video like I'm good on it I'm good and the thing is is I feel like you're either kind of vague and boring in these podcasts and it's okay and it's like pretty like positively received because they're not saying anything or it's really entertaining and it's extremely like kind of controversial I'm like the more entertaining a podcast is the more controversial comes and I just am like eh cuz like you want the podcast to have hot taks you want them to be saying something different in some instances you want them to be sharing the craziest stories but sharing that [ __ ] will eventually get them into hot Waters that's just how it goes and it's kind of like I'm ready to ditch the whole everybody has a podcast thing cuz I'm like I'm down if you have stuff to specifically share but a lot of people are just sharing cuz they don't know what else to do they're like [ __ ] it they have a podcast I need a podcast ooh or maybe they have management and management wants to make extra money off of them and they're creating a podcast for everybody I feel like that's what's happening but I'm like I'm ready for the era of YouTube where you just have like [ __ ] constant videos in your subbox and they're good quality videos and they're not all just like I don't know I love a good commentary form but I feel like that's a lot of what exists on this nowadays and I want more variety back on YouTube and so I hope that podcast start to die down a little bit I hope even Tik Tok starts to die down a little bit so I can get better content that's just me being selfish but yeah I don't know I'm over it I'm over everything I'm over all of these people I don't know you guys outro :) let me know if you agreed or you disagreed with any all some of my little hot takes um none of these again I feel like I have to say that are that serious I don't really hate anybody I never like act on my hate R towards anybody I don't know why I'm saying that that seems sketchy I would trust me after I said that I
