before Bill Skarsgard was finally cast as Eric Draven the role was originally played by Brandon Lee in the 1994 film The Crow the search for the right actor for the reboot stretched over nearly a decade due to numerous challenges in 2010 Mark wallberg was offered the lead role with Steven Norrington as both writer and director however Norrington left the project due to creative differences with Mark later Luke Evans was set to star in a version directed by f aier Gutierrez but after the success of Dracula Untold Luke withdrew from the reboot leading to another shift in Direction by 2016 director Corin Hardy and Jason Momoa were linked to the project with filming scheduled to start in 2017 however they two exited citing creative differences other actors rumored for the role included Alexander Skarsgard Bradley Cooper and Tom Heston but it was ultimately Bill Skarsgard who secured the part
