Juli Inkster talks with Sky View Sports and talks LPGA playing new venues, the kids on Tour and more

talk about mirfield Village huh yeah that was the hardest golf course I ever played my life well with me I have LPGA and Golf Hall of Famer Julie yster you have had quite a career I want to start with an off-the-wall question about mirfield Village uh what that's got to be one of your top five as far as playability and being just a really tough golf course yeah I I would say it's probably my number one favorite Golf Course um it's hard but it's fair um I love The Practice facilities the food's great Jack's there um it's just got a really good vibe we played the 1998 uh solheim cup there and it was by far one of the best we we've had and so I've got a lot of great memories there yeah one of the things that I really like that the USGA has done is some of the old golf courses that only we only put the men out here that's no longer the case he say we have a schorer spard of tournaments you do them all you're out and I like it because next year the women are going to Aaron Hills or going back to Inverness for the US Open just great gol Riv I mean you can go on and on and talk about these golf courses but to me it's not and the women are not overmatched great shot making going every week on the LPGA Tour and in these majors and these fans are going to these great golf courses are seeing that yeah and I I think that's what really elevates the women's game and when we can play the golf courses the guys have played where the fans know the golf course and and how it should be played I mean you just take it Pebble Beach um you know we finally got an open there um in 2022 and um 23 22 23 but it doesn't matter but um you know the way the women played it was just phenomenal and I mean being from that area and not ever being able to play US Open a p Beach you know I really um regret but uh they they're playing Great Courses now they're playing iconic golf courses and um they deserve that French Lake Indiana I was at that tournament U they've had three or four of the the the SE it's a champions tour for women and um anyway Great Golf Course and what I I would imagine when you see the men out here every week with the world's greatest Mulligan if if you could be the tour commissioner for a day or design us so that there's a Champions Tour type thing for women I mean is it a longtime baby coming yeah it is I mean the the problem is you know most our gals have kind of retired or or are are not playing these days but I mean they should have started the the senior US Open 10 years ago where you can get the Meg malons and the Beth Daniels and the Betsy Kings and Pat Bradley and all these guys to play but it's great that we have it now I mean I would love to see um the LPGA maybe if we do something behind them or a day before them and and do a two-day thing with the proam um and you know invite 40 of the Legends tour players to play um you know because you know a lot of them still really love to play I I like to play and but I don't want you can tell look you you are you are a green rat and I mean that as a I mean you're out here practicing out there you're not going to come out here with no game well yeah I mean I I enjoy the playing part of it but uh um I don't want to do it every week and you know if there was probably a half a dozen of them a year that would be perfect for me yeah I got it as far I I'll leave it maybe one one last question the the young ladies that are playing golf today I cover a lot of college golf and these kids are getting better and better they're getting more flexible and what do you see that's different now compared to when you were coming up 10 years ago yeah more like 40 um technology I mean you know theyve they've got track b um the coaches are far more um knowledgeable on the golf game they they're they're uh teaching uh swing speed you know they don't care where you hit it just swing hard swing fast um kind of like baseball don't care if you strike out just go for the fences so I mean a lot of Technology a lot of um you know and the equipment equipment is so much better the green conditions everything is is uh is in better shape and you know they just have more opportunities to play well Julie thanks for coming on hit them long and straight not long and wrong and we know that and uh I go ahead and make fun of some Jeff Daniels today thank you very much I appreciate it thank you
