we will start with an amber alert that went out tonight in Witchita police were looking for for a little boy a 5-year-old they say was taken by his father 30-year-old trayon Strong by force Nick Nelson joins us live in South witch near Mount Vernon and i135 with the latest details Nick Deb we're here on South Grove here in South Witchita you can see multiple police vehicles behind me uh still at this hour this is where police say this young child was forcibly taken by his father in a domestic incident now we learned about an hour ago that the boy is safe with police now police say the 5-year-old's father Trayvon strong senior took the boy a little before 5:00 earlier today this was after police say the suspect had stabbed the boy's mother in the hand investigators say the mother was able to get away with her two other children as the boy was taken by his father now shortly after an amber alert went now police were able to track down the suspect who said the boy was at a relative's house WPD spokesperson Andrew Ford tells the public to take action right away if you find yourself in a similar domestic dispute if you are a victim of domestic violence please if you can safely whether it's text 911 dial 911 tell someone notify law enforcement because there's resources out there where we can help a person who is a a victim of domestic violence now Ford adds the suspect is currently being interviewed by police reporting live Nick Nelson cake news on your side
