home run but outside of that it's going to be a tough job for the opposing lineup today way outside two balls no strikes and another ball this is a batter who clearly performs better in Day games I don't know why but his numbers generally back it up left-and hitter Waits swinging a foul over the screen and back out of play hit on the ground to the right side anded he takes it himself for the out batting second let's take a look at the Padre's lineup and Chris this group has been struggling to put up runs lately well they haven't been on base a ton and even when they are they haven't been hitting very well with the runners on base so they need a player or two to really Step Up have some quality at bats hit according to the situation and and sort of break out of this I think if they do the rest of this lineup will follow jerks and proar in the box now as he leaves that one up high that misses the zone and that's ball two wouldn't chase that time now Fly ball to Right Center Siri in position pulls it down and there's two [Applause] gone third the first Bas number n two out Bas is empty now here is Jake Cronin worth trying to pick up his first knock in the big leads that one not close and it's w to know and another [Music] ball next offering way off the plate and he walked him on four pitches one of the things about that two out walk the base runner over at first base is going to have a very aggressive secondary lead B down the line or into the Gap will produce a two out RBI and those are the best that is if you are the offensive side of it two outs can't find it here that six straight balls he hasn't wanted to challenge him both of those pitches off the plate away don't expect anything down the heart of the plate you may just have to be patient and take your walk change it up with a good pitch on the inside nice execution that'll definitely keep him honest outside and that is ball four two walks in the first has to be some cause for concern I me you're talking about a guy you want to pitch deep into the ball game it's not going to help with the pitch count right there they can can't afford to hand out free bases at this rate David peral at the pl not even close there and that's ball one and another ball oh he's really working him away this bat sometimes take a little bit off velocity try to get a roll over something on the ground stay away from that street riding up and down Miami Beach some and some Ken on the red oh that one got in the jet stream on a line drive we saw the numbers on the backs of the jerseys of the outfielders which is usually bad news and all of a sudden they're back in this ball [Music] game in the sun in the [Music] Sun and stepping in for the Rays Junior Camero that one ripped and it's off the top of the wall and he starts his afternoon off right with a double Junior Camero with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you can take a minute to just just one swing of the bat and it makes the special moment even more special it's not just an individual accomplishment when you're also driving in a run for your team that's a it bad he's never going look at Kevin Cash's lineup for the Tampa Bay Rays someone who makes things happen for them in part with his legs Jose cavero and boo you and I were talking about him before the game he's got good speed and if if you watch him in this game he's that type of guy that's very smart he doesn't have this just eye poppy speed but he knows how to use it and he's very intelligent on the base pass to get to the next base to get around the bases and ultimately score [Applause] runs man it's second and a sack bun here Machado and there's two down [Applause] B the white so digging in Johnny [Music] DeLuca fast ball for a strike looks like he's just sizing him up there really good pitch to hit but he took it all the way sometimes guys just want to sit their timing later on in the game that may be a Pitch that he turns on ripped on a line no here puts it away for the out and that will end the inning three runs on four hits no errors and one left on we head to the second here at Tropicana Field it's the Padre's 5 and the Rays three back here at Tropic field top of the second stepping in for San Diego Mason McCoy McCoy baz back to work that one misses ball one a short stop takes the ball Ed see players questioning the calls too much so that's a good thing in this day and age and the righty deals and there's the ball singy what kind of strike zone is most frustrating for hitters I'd say off the plate away and down and why those are the toughest locations to hit the baseball let's see if he gives them anything to hit here 3-1 and he couldn't come up with [Applause] it leading off for the back to the top of the lineup Luis arise stands in and there's one thing on his mind this at bat getting that first hit at the big league level way outside and it's w to know maybe losing command didn't get jumpy didn't try to pull the ball he' let it get deep took the barrel right to it and then extended through the swing for the line drive base hit one away Runners at second and third and has it sized up makes the catch Runner tags for home play it home he's safe and it's now a six run lead man there's a sack fly to bring home another run in this inning these hitters are just piling it on we're seeing some really quality at bats out of this team right now David Peralta the next to hit he's already homered in this game well they've been able to score four runs off of him in this inning and this is where you want to just max out get as much as you can give him one of those tough Innings where it's going to be hard for him to recover in the next [Applause] one and that's third and he's out C down and that ends the inning well it's pretty difficult to throw a base runner out at the plate with two outs on a base hit to the Outfield but an excellent job of coming up with it getting rid of it quickly and throwing on the money that is great technique from start to finish nice job to end the inning down we head to the bottom of the second here's the second basem Jonathan Aranda that one finds the zone and that is strike one the Pitch hit in the air center field size in this one up and out number one on the grab batting and now it's Jose Siri good Defender he's been inconsistent offensively swung on belted that one's back and that ball is gone that was blasted to the move and they cut into the deficit it's 94 wasn't fooled on the first pitch at all he squared it up right [Applause] [Music] away look at that pure reaction fast ball up and in not an easy pitch to get to but because it was just a reflex he didn't have time to get long with this [Music] swing so the raay batting order turns over Christopher Morell next to hit for the Rays L Drive and that should be extra bases around first digging for two throws to second in safely it's a double at his second hit he has had such a good day today I don't think he's going to want to leave when it's over couple of doubles today for the DH one out runner at second and now it's Brandon LA and that one finds its way through coming home home the throw in but it's offline went up there looking to be aggressive and got something he could handle he wasn't able to elevate it but he put a great swing on it right on time good balanced approach and just blasted it through the infield one down and now it's going to be junior Camero faceball in for a strike and it's 0 and one part of the order coming through now and with one home run already ready in this inning they're definitely looking to do some more damage man it first one away swing and that ball smashed on the line Merill right there to make the grab out spot defensively but runs pretty well so when you're looking at that position you're not expecting someone that has maybe above average speed but he does and I think that skill set really upgrades the position because when you have that kind of speed it makes the whole team that much better two outs face is empty and another ball what about him playing another position on defense one that would require a little more range absolutely and I think if push came to shove where they had to make a a move during a game it surprise a lot of people you might even be able to put him in center field
