Drafting a CHAMPIONSHIP Fantasy Football Team Around Christian McCaffrey | FFBC

ladies and gentlemen we are back we are so back it's fantasy football season I'm back Zach back Zach is back Luke is back obviously it's just me today um but fantasy football season is back and you're going to be drafting your roster soon so what better way to reprise the videos that were well received last year with how to build a team around every position or every uh draft position with an ADP in the first round uh so we're going to have 10 videos coming at you this week pretty quick um drop any questions or anything in the comments uh what you agree with what you don't what position were you're looking to get and uh and we're going to help you out now one thing I'll say as I share the screen right here we're just doing a standard league so it's going to be half PPR quarterback running two running backs two wide receivers two flexes I believe uh tight end kicker defense um and what we're going to do is we're just going to build a team so this video is going to be building the championship team around Christian mcaffrey now if Christian mcaffrey stays healthy really not going to be too hard of a thing to do obviously we know what he can be um but our job here is to just kind of run through a mock Trav and just kind of give you our thoughts um guys we think can help supplement mcaffrey build you a well-rounded team get you that Championship so without further Ado let's just get started so we'll start the draft here yeah yes please Christian mcaffrey number one look at the roster here I mean unfortunately I don't have the first round pick this year um if you do hats off to you I think the pick is Christian mcaffrey for sure um a lot of questions about possibly um injury concern age he's just one of those guys he's so good um I don't think it it's important to even think about that like you have to take him because if he's healthy you have egg on your face and if he gets hurt that's a nice you know way out nice excuse for why he didn't do too well maybe um but right here we took Christian mcaffrey number one the board didn't shake out great but it wasn't horrible so at this ADP we obviously have two picks back toback it looks like Josh Allen Devonte Adams Chris olve Devon aain Josh Jacobs Travis Kelce Brandon auker up there um looks like we also have Isaiah p Debo Samuel Mike Evans Sam pora Jaylen Herz Patrick Mahomes those guys so um for this you know I think this depends on where you are um some leagues obviously have three wide receivers some leagues like mine we don't have a tight end spot we have a wide receiver slash tight end um that'll change what you're looking at for what you um hold in higher regard like what you is more important running backs or wide receivers um but I think no no matter what you got to take one running back one wide receiver here or or or at least a wide receiver here is what I'm saying you could also take two wide receivers here um so looking at the board right here um I'm looking at this I think you got to take a receiver here obviously Devonte Adams he's still one of the best receivers in the game but we don't know what we're going to get out of the Raiders quarterback group right like we we don't know and he is getting older that doesn't help either um so we got Chris olve there and then we have you know a little bit of space before we have Brandon auk um for me personally I'm not touching them there's too much uncertainty um even in the 49ers group like what happens if they lean on Debo more this year um you know I don't know if that's a thing for sure but like him and Debo there's so much in the air with both of them Debo with injury concerns as well um Mike Evans he's Old Reliable at Tampa Bay um but he's also getting a little older so for me you know you need a wide receiver here I think the pick is definitely Chris olve um I'm not super sold on ove um overall but I think here he's definitely the best pick um and so we'll take him in the second round now we flip around at the third you're looking at your team like I am and you're saying okay I chrisan mcaffry I got a I got a a running back and a wide receiver what else do I need you know Josh Allen is here there are quarterbacks you could take here you know I I can understand why people would think um would think quarterback um but that's just not for me there are a lot of quarterbacks you can take later you can take you know Baker Mayfield is a great quarterback you can take him in like the last round um you know Lamar Jackson you can wait a couple rounds Joe bur you can wait a couple rounds so I don't think quarterback here is smart um tight end here is obviously something you could think about um but again I think the tight end group here is kind of like quarterbacks that think it's incredibly deep um so I think again it comes down to running back wide wide receiver and I think this year the running back group you either get a guy in the first two rounds or you wait um Devon hm was fantastic last year um but his ADP is really really high um I understand he was great but you know Raheem moard is still there um he had some big big games that booed his his uh his performance I don't think he's going to have 200 yard games out the wazu again this year so I'm not a huge fan of him Jacobs he's a good running back but um this Packer team has a tough schedule um I know they want to run the ball but I think they're going to be behind in more games than last year so um that's going to take away from more workload than we saw with Aaron Jones and on top of that Aaron Jones is a better pass catching back so I think uh he doesn't do as much of that so for me here I'm not reaching for Pacho personally because I think you can wait on running back so I'm going to go another wide receiver and so the question becomes who do you go with and there are a lot of receivers that you know you can look at obviously auk is there Debo Samuel is there there's too much uncertainty with them for me I I don't want them personally um so for me I think the pick is Devonte Adams I understand there's a lot of uncertainty there too but I think the Raiders have to give Devonte Adams the ball um they have to find a way to get it to him I think they have quarterbacks um that are inexperienced or not great and when they're pressured they're going to go to old reliables and tight ends and I think that's going to be Devonte and um either Bowers or um their other tight end they got last year so Michael Mayer um and on top of that like you already have Chris ol um who you can count on more so it's not like Devonte Adams is your first choice wide receiver um so if I'm going here I'm going to L Devonte Adams back to back um you have two good wide receivers you have a really good running back and then you know you can wait a little bit right you don't have to worry too much about things coming uh back to you and all your by weeks are sorted so first three picks are mcaffrey olve and Adams to round out the second and third and now here ises our pick again in the fourth and the fifth and look right there the board in my opinion Falls perfectly for us you know we talk about waiting on running back um I think this is a spot where I'm thinking you get a running back within the first two rounds and then you can wait till like the sixth or seventh but here Rashad white Falls to you he's a perfect rb2 um some people don't like him this year I think he's going to be perfectly fine um Bucky Irving I don't think he's going to eat too much into him he get he's a good receiving back good running back um in general he's going to get production um as an rb1 don't love it rb2 especially behind mcaffrey absolutely love it so we're going to take Rashad white in the fourth round there so now we're coming on round five don't have a pick for a while but we have two running backs two wide receivers it's about as even as you could ask I think this is a perfect start all with different by- weeks as well which is great um and now the board is a little more iffy um there's DJ Moore James Cook DK metcafe Joe Mixon Kenneth Walker CJ Stroud Devonte Smith if you're looking tight ends there's a Trey McBride Mark Andrews there um Dalton concade there's also Alvin Kamar Z flowers Anthony Richardson you know we talked about quarterbacks I think this is the place if you start with this um I can definitely see why you'd want to go CJ stoud personally that's not how I am I like to wait on quarterbacks um wait on tight ends as well again if this is your start two running backs two wide receivers I think it's perfectly fine to throw a dart at McBride or Andrews um or Stout for me though I think it's important to get some depth um at running back or wide receiv and what position you choose is up to you right if you're one of those people that's you know you love mcaffry but you're a little worried about the injury uh concerns this would be a great place to go a Joe Mixon in my opinion if you're looking at the wide receivers you're going I don't know what's gonna come up Devonte Adams Chris with Derek Carr you know then he can go receiver there for me personally I think again because the running back room is so deep I'm going to go receiver here and I'm looking at Devonte Smith here um finished as wide receiver 22 last year you know didn't have a lot of incredible games um but you look double digits in weeks what is that it looks like obviously it's PPR so that's a little different but uh double digits in every single week um targets are up there and even in the games when his receptions are down you know he had a decent amount of touchdowns there as well and again you know we're looking for wide receiver three here I think Devonte Smith is a you know is a wide receiver two he's a little shaky but as a wide receiver three I think he's a great pick here and I think he is the pick here so um round five we're going to go Devonte Smith so through five rounds Christian mcaffry at the first Olive and Adams at the turn and the second and the third Rashad white in the fourth and Devonte Smith in the fifth so now it's coming back to the six got some tight ends taken some more quarterbacks taken there goes McBride and it is our pick now stop it there and this is if I was drafting this is I mean this is this is a a perfect fantasy land for me um you know we talked about waiting a little bit of tight ends I think there are some great tight ends there there's um you know we have three wide receivers still only two running backs I think there's a great running back there and I think that's what we're going to do um um you know you want to be deep we have three wide receivers only two running backs I think Aaron Jones is a great pick here um Sam darnold is the quarterback in Minnesota but what do quarterbacks love that are maybe a little more inexperienced or like Sam darnold who maybe struggles check Downs in the tight ends Aaron Jones is a fantastic Runner we've seen it in Green Bay um he's going to be indoors we know everybody runs a little faster indoors um he's a great pass catcher they're going to utilize him especially with TJ hackinson out the first couple weeks of the year um I think he's a fantastic running back um do I think he's an rb2 I don't know if you can trust him for that much this year um but I definitely like running back three so we're take Aaron Jones and then we're going to pause it right here seventh round you got three running backs three wide receivers and right there on the board you look at the ADP right here George KD and Kyle pitch just fell into your lap I think that is an absolutely perfect place to be um and I think this is the deal's choice I think the choice here is is definitely tight end um Joe burrow is great but coming back from injury especially on the throwing hand um a more severe injury um I don't know too much about that especially in the seventh round seems a little early you know your running backs are David Montgomery mandre Stevenson that are on the board I don't love those wide receivers Keenan Allen Christian Kirk don't love those um so I think it's tight end here for me it's KD or Pitts and that's that's a big question right um KD obviously has a little more injury concerns but when he's on the field he's incredible and pits you know we know what he can do but with uh with the offensive coordinator and the offensive play calling the past couple years he hasn't been producing um but a new play caller in Atlanta a lot of optimism for me personally we know what KD is and he played a lot of games last year he played 16 last year 15 in 2022 14 2021 so you know a lot of people talking about it gets banged up and yes he does but a lot of his games coming off for 2020 we know what he is we absolutely know what he is you know it's like that Family Guy episode you know where he's offered a boat or the box and he's saying well in the Box could be another boat Cal pittz could be a George KD or we could take the George KD that's on the board um he's a monster we know there's always is going to be a role for him in San Francisco um you know if Kyle pittz goes great fantastic good for him but you know if Kyle pittz is another down year and George KD goes off you're going to have egg on your face um so I think the pick here is definitely George KD so now through seven rounds I think this is a perfect start to draft I think if you have this you got to be really happy Christian mcaffrey Chris olve Devonte Adams Rashad white Devonte Smith Aaron Jones George KD and now I'm I mean your team is pretty well filled up at this point oh don't want to end the draft there want to pause it excuse me so we get to the eighth round and you look at your team you got three running backs three wide receivers really your whole starting lineup minus quarterback kickers and defense which obviously kickers and defense are going to wait till the end that's all set for you um I think that's a great place to be right now um so for me you know the question becomes all right what depth pieces do we love and this is a depth piece that I think is going under the radar you just added to the pup list today um today being Monday August 26 you'll be out for the first four games but I mean you look at your team your team is solid right so now it's a time where you can take some flyers or maybe take some risks I think there's no better risk than Nick chub dude's an absolute monster he's putting in he's pushing P an incredible amount of weight already um they're going to wait till he gets right and when he comes back we know what he is he has had some big injuries before but he has bounced back and all all reports really indicate that he's like a Derrik Henry type guy right we we're constantly saying oh this year Derrick Henry breaks down this year this year and it hasn't happened and so for Nick chub you're gonna need to show me it's not his year before I believe that so here where you already have three running backs sign me up for Nick chubba running back four cuz what's the worst that can happen about Nick chub running back four let's say he doesn't come back to form again he's your running back four um so I think he's an absolute steal there so now um you know we got four running backs we got three wide receivers all right well what do we go with now and there are a couple options here obviously the ADP or the the players available right here Xavier worthy Calvin Ridley Rashid rice Jordan love Jordan Addison Jake Ferguson David joku lad makoni Zack Moss Jonathan Brooks javante Williams this one if you're thinking Jordan love at quarterback I'm I'm not going to knock you I'm not going to knock you I think that's that's a perfect pick right there um for me personally I want to see more from him and that's as a Packer fan I know I'm going to get hate for this but um watching him the first couple games of the Season he was shaky um I think there were a couple games where well there were a couple games where they got incredibly lucky you talk about um New Orleans Saints in week to if the field goal wasn't missed um if Quinn Johnson didn't miss an easy touchdown catch I know it's a lot of would have could have should have but he would have even been in the playoffs and a lot of people I feel are baseding his performance on the late season in playoffs and a lot on that Dallas game and I just need to see a little more as they have the fourth toughest schedule in the NFL this year um but I can see it here but for me I'm going to go wide receiver here um and I think the pick is either Xavier worthy or Rashi rice um and I really don't have an opinion either way um you know Hollywood Brown is sidelined I think he's got great speed you know something about him he gives me something that Rashid rice doesn't Rashid rice um he had a good season last year you know I'm not going to say he didn't um you know he he wasn't great but um you know he almost had a th receiving yard in his rookie year seven touchdowns that's very good um but you look at his stats he really didn't turn on Ono weeks 12 to 17 um again for rookie what can you expect but there's just something about Xavier worthy that does it a little bit more for me um but that's as a player overall him as a rookie gives me hesitation so I'm still going to take Rashi rice we know Rashi rice is we don't know what sa worthy will be so we'll take him as wide receiver here in the ninth round so updated team we got mcaffrey in the first round Olan Adams in second and third Rashad white at four Devonte Smith at fifth Aaron Jones and KD sixth in the seventh chub in the eighth rice in the ninth so as we get to the 10th spot right there here is the draft so now I mean this board you know at at this point it's time for me um you got your two running backs sorted two Ed receiv receivers sorted your tight end sorted your Flex is sorted and he got four running backs four wide receivers Jordan Love's still here you know I'm not as high on him as other people but I think this is an Absol absolutely a scenario where you take him right here um you get your quarterback get a good quarterback um and you know you feel pretty good about it you know the other quarterbacks r here Brock pie you know he he's a solid quarterback but he's a game manager um you know Jordan love probably has potential for more definitely has potential for more points especially with his legs um Caleb Williams rookie iffy um although I think he'll do good with a week schedule to a lot of injury concerns so I think Jordan love is a pick there so then you know at this point you're kind of taking Flyers um you're you're really taking flyers and for me you know with the lineup that's so set like this I don't think you really need to do anything crazy I don't think you need to zero on a position this would be a great position to be in um for me I think you go running back and I think you scroll down a little bit I think Ezekiel Elliot here's a great pick um if you watch if you haven't seen the video go back and watch it we talk about um three um best steals outside the top with an 0p outside the top 100 and Ezekiel Elliott's that guy um we understand he had an off year in uh you know in in New England last year but he was PPR 30 among running backs year before that PPR 22 you know you're you're taking him right now as behind mcaffrey White Jones and chub he's a running back five um dead ADP is going to get it for you absolutely he's going to finish better in 30 um you know New England was so bad last year and in is he's the only guy there right now right Rico D's there um but Tony PD's gone like he has to be the guy and until they get somebody else he's the guy right so will they possibly bring somebody in maybe that seems like a landing spot that dvin cook could be at but for now he's the running back one of a very good offense so why would you not take him as your running back five it seems like an absolute win he's a guy that even if he's not great he could be used his great trade bait for somebody that maybe needs a running back three or running back two um depending on how the season goes so we'll take Elliot there and it looks like the CPU is taking their time here so we resume the draft there we go so updated lineup we took mcaffrey and olve one two Adams white 34 Devonte Smith and Aaron Jones 56 KD and chubs seven and eight rice and love 9 and 10 and Ezekiel Elliott in the 11th now we're coming to 12th round now you really got your uh now you really got your uh you know your Diamonds in the Rough and and here again I think this works out perfectly with the ADP top player on the board right now is T.J Hockinson and you know when you take KD a lot of people are talking about how banged up he gets that's true um T.J hackinson is an absolute dog um he's going to miss probably four or five weeks at least he is on the pup list um and I know there's no timetable but you look at his finishes PPR 4 two um 15 in Detroit but he only played 12 games and five um dude's a monster Sam darnold is going to rely on him heavily and he's a guy that again in the 12th round you're comparing them to Curtis Samuel Romeo dos Adon Mitchell khil Shakir over the course of the season they might be better but when you're get into the playoff hunt there's nobody better not only does he give you a great great backup option behind KD but he's a playmaker he's a guy every week you can put him in the flex position down the stretch and feel very confident about so for me for me I'm absolutely taking TJ hackinson there and I we'll pause the draft here and you got 13 you say what do we do we got you know four running backs maccaffrey White Jones chub and Elliot so five got four receivers and rice Devonte Smith Adams and alve for me I think you take another wide receiver here um just to even it out and one guy that I love is Romeo dobs here um he was not um you know a super player last year right but PPR 36 um he brought in a lot of touchdowns um Target to reception ratio he'd like to see a little bit better um and he didn't have a ton of Targets in every game but um he's a guy that is trusted in the Red Zone I think he is the red zone Target and again you're taking Flyers here um Christian mcaffrey or not Christian mcaffry excuse me um Christian Watson is a huge injury risk and I don't know if I trust the wide receivers yet not yet so for me I'm taking Romeo dobs here so we will see how the rest of this draft plays out it is as it got paused there we go keep it moving so I think this roster is fantastic I'm kind of sad this isn't an actual draft but um yeah here we go you know for kickers and defense you know our our philosophy here at sleeper has always been um you don't need either you can um drop or add people right before the week um and I think that's great because if your team has an IR slot T.J Hawkins isn't at the pup list he can go on IR right and so you have an extra slot so I think the smart thing to do here is to take some flyers and there are a lot of perfect ones but I think there are some good ones and one of the first ones that I really really like is one that maybe not a lot of people are thinking of and it's jacobe Myers um I I understand that he is fallen behind in the peck ort a little bit especially with Brock Bowers but obviously you see here's he's been pretty good in training camp you look at the last few years PPR 30 28 24 people did not pay attention to him enough last year um he wasn't great the entire season but he had some fantastic weeks I mean look at Targets 10 12 10 13 you know he had eight touchdowns um and so for me I'm looking at at at jaob Myers and I'm saying well we don't know what's gonna happen with Devonte Adams right we we don't know what's going to happen you know injury-wise or quarterback wise he might get traded though he might and if he does up comes to Kobe Meers and even if Devonte ads is there we've seen him put up good performances so um I like jacobe Myers here um I don't trust Las Vegas a lot but he got to admit they're going to be passing a lot this year because they will be losing a lot so I'm going to take jacobe Myers there and then to end it we'll take one more flyer it's a flyer that um I have liked the last three years we've been talking about him the last three years Tyler elier um he is a backup obviously the new offensive coordinator um in Atlanta is definitely going to be using bejan more than he was used in the past but um Tyler alir still got a ton of goal end reps um last year people forget already somehow um that he was incredible um his rookie year um we go back 2022 absolute monster the four weeks of this season over a th rushing yards you know and last year even 683 rushing yards is he going to be great no he's probably going to take a little step back in production but again we're talking about lottery picks throwing darts at the board beon goes down it's El deer's job and nobody's taking it from him right Cordell Patterson's not even there now so um I like that so end of the draft and I love this I absolutely love this draft I think this is absolutely your team that will win your Championship um first round obviously first over we took chrisan mcaffrey second round and third round we took a and Adams fourth and fifth we took Rashad white and Devon Smith Aaron Jones and George KD in the sixth and seventh ch and rice in the 8th and 9th love and Elliot in the 10th and 11th hackinson in the 12th dobs and Myers in the 13th and 14th and Alger in the 15th so you're looking at the starting lineup you got a starting lineup of Jordan love maccaffrey white bave Adams KD Devonte Smith Aaron Jones and you can put TJ hackinson on the pup list pick up a kicker or defense and you got a bench of Nick chub Rashid rice Ezekiel Elliott Romeo Dodge Jobe Myers T alir come play time you got TJ Hawkinson two I think this is a complete team you have are stacked at every position um you're not weak at any position and you know this is one of those teams where if there's an injury it doesn't matter right if chrish mcaffry goes down oh no Chris mcaffrey goes down still got Rashad white and Aaron Jones and they can Vault Nick chubber Ezekiel Elliott into that Flex spot or even T.J hackinson so I think this is an absolutely a great team um and so that is it that is how you draft a team around Christian mcaffrey definitely like subscribe comment what did you think what
