[Music] [Music] [Music] welcome everyone and glad to have you with us from Williams Bry Stadium home of the South Carolina game coxy cocky and all of his friends ready to go and amped up for what we have in store this match up today part of the lifeblood of the sport a rivalry game where the results will be remembered for a lifetime as we'll see the number one team in the country the Texas A&M maggies taking on a Squad hoping to prevent another L this week the South Carolina game cop for EA Sports college football Reese Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer time to get this game started and the Gamecocks will boot it away to start the game Pauls it in inside his 20 and here he comes and he's able to pick his way through the traffic nicely for a good return on that one before he's brought [Applause] down they challenged this crowd to bring the energy and I'd say they're doing that on the ground it's moss and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup Foundation of agie football built on toughness like that running it like John David Crow back in the day I had those Texas people are tough and rugged and you know they wear their great outfits that you love to watch but these these Aggies I think they're at their best when they got great running backs and you've seen Spiller and achain in recent history finding those game Breakers those game Busters that can make big plays now a couple of times historically that the SEC has reached into the Big 12 during an expansion era and the Big 12 would love to land a blow on the field here in this one yeah and I think there probably is some of that with the big 12 a lot of these teams they used to be in our conference and you've kind of ruined what we had built so we got a chance now to to make a dent in this to to show you like we're not just your like little recruiting system and little farm team Jesse like we're a real conference that wants to come out and make a state I agree David I think the Big 12 throughout the years here recently has done a good job reloading and bringing in good quality programs with a lot of talented football players and those wideopen uptempo high-scoring offenses that can give any SEC defense PRS dropping back it's Wegman he finds his man sometimes people say if you're good enough what's the big deal about going on the road well if you're not careful you might find out in a spot like this one guys yeah no doubt about it this is a hostile environment and you know you're going to be getting the opponent's aame for this one they've circled this one all off seon so they better be ready to bring it today D and the hardest thing to do in college football is to go on the road everything about it changes and you want to shut this crowd up early you don't want to give them belief cuz if it starts to build got some room headed to the goal line and he'll finish the run in the endzone touchdown Aggie I'm not sure anyone even breathed on that running back by the time he got into the End Zone N so many blockers out front where are the defendants and it's a good idea you know the guy with the ball that's usually the guy we want to go tackle go go get him lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive Carolina and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 the offense set for a first down play a little pre- snap eye candy for the defense picked up a useful 5yd CH out to the 30 yd line I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make him on to the Run make him know that you're willing to run the football and run it effectively from the gun running back gets to give tackle is made but not until he gets the first down I know this is an offensive line that has a ton of Pride they want to come out each and every game and really impose their will on the dline they got just enough push there on that run play to pick up the first and that pressure just engulfed him a sack for this defense and the defense there goes Zone coverage maybe confused the quarterback a little bit forced them to hold on to the football and that allowed the pass rush to get home that sack gets this offense behind the chains it's second down trying to get to it nowhere close on that one as he got thrilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down I know you want to prepare for every game the same way but there's just something different about rivalry games Jesse it's because re I think players are aware that games like this Define your legacy as a player your record in rivalry games is something and the quarterback is snowed under really impressed with how this team is seized momentum here playing on the road in this hostile environment their offense gets it first they March down the field they put up some points and here's the defense now on their first drive getting a critical sack on third [Applause] down Texans A&M has it back and we say howdy to the AI offense again Jesse looking to take it down the field for back-to- back touchdowns think it's really important for them moving forward too to have a lot of balance right you want to be able to keep this defense guessing po yeah and you got me searching for answers after that last drive you stack another drive on top of this their defense's heads are going to be spinning all over the place right on target with that last pass now it's second and medium to the air it's Wegman feeling some heat and there was nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes this defense got a lot of people's attention last week when they had three sacks and you know the offense was watching film and they saw all these pass rushers and their abilities they thought they had a good plan but it's not working right now they've already given up a sack here early in the game he's going for the big play a big time catch along the sidelines got the foot down and an excellent throw too re you and I were talking about this before the game how is this defense going to be able to deal with all the speed they have offensively you saw them just rip off a big play and Jesse now their head's spinning just a little bit give up a big chunk play and it's right back at him comes out throwing on first down makes the catch it's Mock and this defense has its work cut out to get this dude on the ground he was shedding serious tackles on his way to picking up the first running backs just have to be a weapon in the passing game even for little dump offs and check Downs yeah find your matchups I mean you think about running back versus a linebacker we like that matchup in space and so find ways to get the football to your running back in space where we can break tackles and make things happen cuz they're just so Dynamic here's the give off the left side he stop him just short of the first down but it will be second and inches coming upas South Carolina Z will'll start the quarter offense about to snap it on second down they'll try the Run he bullies his way all the way down to the 5 yd line well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive alive Texas A&M will line up with a first and [Applause] goal they'll try to get it in with the Run he's dropped behind behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well we know this defense is one that plays with a lot of Pride right and part of that is their ability stopping the Run they're a top 25 unit in the nation when it comes to stopping the rush and that really helps them out down here in the Red Zone they're going to have to step up big time in this situation fires into the end zone and it's incomplete as he was trying to finish the drive with a score and how nice is it to have the whole crowd going absolutely bananas communication is harder the snapping the football everybody being on time man this crowd really affecting the football so loud it's rattling your fillings on Third and goal back to throw it's Wegman pressure coming and the heat gets there and they get him down at the 14 yd line they'll try to s how would your field goal on this drive all right nice job defense backs against the wall you did your job setting up fourth down just be careful though because this is a team that's shown they can fake field goals your guys have to be aert and let's check in with Kevin Conor's in the studio Kevin as I think at least a portion of your audience will have an interest in the one that just finished up Army dazzled today in just about every phase of the game and for an institution that's turned out festar generals and US presidents I think they may have their next great leader there at West Point a lot to go through in the film session this week for both teams but boy it sure is going to be easier for the side that came away with the win Kevin thanks a lot for that one sounds as if they had a good one [Applause] there second down coming up they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust and there was nowhere to go just stopped in his tracks in the back field I like offenses being creative I'm not sure if that was the best place to call that play I think this offense needs to think about just doing things a little bit more by the book they've got a lot of good Playmakers you don't have to reinvent the wheel this early in the game from the gun wants to pass lets it fly and the Deep shot is complete inside the 35 yd line touchdown game cop and once he found open space the manand might as well start playing and what did ni start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and it'll be a Touchback the ball will come out to the 25 yd line Texas A&M has it back on the offense ready to go to work and to settled for the Chip Shot field goal last time Jesse they love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down to execution too did a nice job out in the field stall and he's running in the open he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense they've done a really good job identifying mismatches and they find one out of the back field there reys I really don't think it's that hard my guy is better than yours find the match up across the field running back's got some speed get it in his hands quickly throw it to him fast let him make somebody Miss against a slower guy that's usually a linebacker he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down how long have the agies been fishing for Jumbo plays like that one just dying for it they just want high flying offense they want fun they want excitement they had it back in the day with Johnny Manzel been searching for those big time plays that big time offense since that point now on First and 10 from the 29 he's looking to throw it that's caught it's mohamd well we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a way this offense has a second down play they want to just keep throwing it grabbed over the middle it's mohamd he's really close to that first down marker but they stop him just a bit short and quarterback dropping back understanding I'm getting Zone coverage all I got to do is be a little bit patient manipulate that defense a little bit my wide receiver runs that drag and I get the first down they'll try to get it through the air grab near the marker it's green a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down not much of a secret who they were looking to but doing something about it is a major problem it's so hard to stop on these third Downs you think about it he could block and then he can go deep he can release you know intermediate the tight ends are so valuable in today's football and especially in the red area they find him and they get the first down hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of that the ball Falls Incomplete Back to throw it's Wagman and with the completion out to the sideline they'll pick up a couple as an offense we're always going to take completions incompletions and interceptions so the offense able to make that third down a little bit more manable but honestly not Bo they' love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal on Third and long try to convert through the air they get to him as he throws that pass is well off Target he got hit as he was trying to throw and they can't convert on third down looks as if they'll send out the field goal [Applause] unit it's good he hit that one right down the middle that 1 Carina so they put the field goal on the board and about to kick it away and hoping that will be the final points of this first half he'll bring it back from inside to spot he gets a block got a little room he's going to get loose a dynamic return explosive and got loose on this kick coverage team and they were barely able to keep him from taking it all the [Applause] way this offense can get a jolt of momentum headed to the locker room if they can take the lead here they'll go to the air they'll run the screen he's all the way down to the 2yd line just spectacular execu there I tell you what if you want to be overzealous if you want to be a Blitzer all the time I like running the screen right behind him did a great job throwing the screen almost broke this one for a long game but it just keeps the defense a little bit more honest if you want to start bringing a lot of pressure and this offense new coming into the game when they get to the Red Zone it's going to be tough sledding because it's hard to run especially against this physical defense they're one of the top five defenses stopping the run and you know at this area of the field it's really tough to throw it let's see who them and the quarterback goes down all the way back at his four yd line we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays so they are denied a touchdown on this drive but they'll try to put up a three spot before the break it's good so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for an answer out just enough time to get off one final play of the half from the gun the running back looking for room still running at the 40 a little excitement there to wrap up the first half and that'll pad the stats as we go to the break we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our half time update Texas A&M ready to kick it away to get the third quarter started he's going to bring it out from Deep pulled down at the 18 and the decision to bring it out of the end zone was not a good one and the South Carolina offense is back on the field if they're going to get on top in this game they're going to have to find a way to get the running game going in the second half agree so it can create some more balance some more unpredictable ility I feel like this defense has got a good beat on what they're doing especially if they don't mix it up a little bit so I do look for a little second half running the football pal out of this R and I think the thing Dave is they just got to be more physical I don't think this is a scheme question about trying different run plays I think it's up to the big fell is up front they've just got to make the decision that they're going to be tougher here in the second half so they can win this game the last two runs went headlong into a brick wall now third and 10 looking to pass it's sers fires into Trap Back picked off ran right through the defender and now he's still running and with the interception he'll take it all the way back touchdown Aggie and they come up with a huge pick six and that is one of the reasons this defense has been so dominant all season long they don't give up big plays but they take the football away and once they do they've got better athletes than you do they're hard to bring down they can flip the game on a dime they're lining up to kick it off after the pick six and that defense will come out feeling it and he'll just takeen KN end this drive will start at the [Applause] 25 South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David oh look out they got him free for a big gainor down to the 43 nice job getting outside right those running backs they get on those tracks they run outside now they're in the open field it's so tough those safeties are flying down try to get an angle but you could tell the speed sets them up makes the big play out to the left looking for a physical attack from the gun that's a really good job by the defense wrapping him up getting him on the ground take away that run G make them onedimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down he's looking to throw Wiggles free that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down there was nothing better than being a defensive lineman and a defense period that pressure the quarterback that gets hit hits on them that make him feel uncomfortable especially when you come into their building and you get everybody really really quiet that's a great feeling guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive they're bringing heat and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete the Gamecock will punt this one away and the defense at this point understands that the offense is going to have to try to throw the football all right they already got a lead so they're now pitting their ears back and getting after this guy trying to get him to the ground and the coverage team able to make the T over first and 10 Texas A&M has it back and we say howdy to the AI offense again out of the shoot quick toss to the right finally run out of bounds but he has his offense rolling with a first down he runs out of at and that's a first for the off on the Move these little Gams can start to add up as he gets it up to the 34 you want talk about about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three he'll try it again that's the 45 on his way off he goes and after gobbling up some serious yardage and showing off those Wheels he's finally out of bounds and you want to put a winning streak together like this team has run the football and create explosive Place nice job by the offense showing the speed how about the blocking up front everybody blocking getting the Hat on the hat creating the explosive run they're threatening to score and they'll throw it he's got his man they'll get it down to the8 yd line on that throw and catch and the defense is backed up against the wall and I love when my quarterback sees Zone and knows exactly where to go with the football sees the wide receiver running the drag route knows when to throw it pulls the trigger for the easy completion he's got and he's into the end zone touchdown Texas A&M they've got the lead in trying to put this one in a hammerlock here in week 10 the offense strikes again to extend its lead here in the second half and they got everything worked how great is this you extend your lead now you get your defense back on the field great job taking advantage of the situation and build on that lead and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor's in the studio boys if it's happening in college football we've got eyes on it check this out Bowling Green is currently trailing in this one but it feels like the tide may be turning this program has picked itself up before and it's capable of it again today it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Georgia Tech just another week of college football where we've come to expect the unexpected Ellis thanks for the update on that one Kevin let us know when it goes final you see they need more runs like that it's just it's been so few and far between defensively they've been in position they've been winning their one-on-one battles getting off of blocks and rallying to the ball carrier this defense has done a nice job slowing down the Run game thus far not much there picks up a couple to the 22 here on third down for this [Music] offense to the air it's sers he uncor a laser deep down the middle and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge gain if he could have squeezed it and the Gamecock decide to pun it away they'll look to pin him deep not able to pop the big return but they've got the ball back and ready to go with a fresh possession will take over first and 10 Texas A&M has it back on the offense ready to go to work how about that blocking up front in that running game last time as they just walked it down for a touchdown table and the big boys up front doing their job opening holes The Backs Making Place everything on the ground on that first drive worked and we know that this is the identity this coaching staff wants for this team right they want to be the most physical team on the field let's see if they can keep it up they'll keep it on the ground that's the end of the third Flo of theas 27 South Carolina 10 we've got this third down play to open the quarter they'll try to pick it up on the ground he's got first down yardage across the 50 they'll mark it at the 49 it's a point in the game I think as a coaching staff where you really challenge your offensive line to go win the football game right we've got to lead late we're going to run the football and the defense and everybody in the stadium knows that's what's going to happen can we run the ball down their throats and impose our will that's what this offense right now is trying to do that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down less than a yard to go to pick up the first down they'll run it behind the big guys on the left they make the stop but this running game moves to change as they get the first down think have to like what you see if you're the coaching staff here your offense is on the field and it looks like you got a pretty good drive going and you're just going to try and keep this thing marching keep the clock ticking you've got a really nice lead here late just want to find ways to keep the chains moving they're doing that to the ground he's got it again and the defense doing a great job committing to the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first after picking up a couple it's second and eight just when they're looking run now up top throws to the tight end and that one's incomplete sometimes a quarterback just needs to turn the ball loose it was like he tried to guide that one in and it disrupted the time yeah and and just like in basketball when when you shoot shots start trying to aim it you really really miss you know quarterbacks they got to quickly be able to recognize do I need to fire it do I I need to put a little air underneath it and and it's just a tough thing for a quarterback to be able to do but over time you see they have less and less mishaps like that he took a hit as he threw it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming so here comes the field goal unit they've been doing work today they've already made a couple and this one splits the uprights and that will end their lead even further they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away again on the move from inside is five and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next [Music] [Applause] Drive South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no ribm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum keeps it moving for a three yd gain to the 24 of third [Music] let's see if they keep it on the ground here on third [Applause] down he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they just haven't been able to get much going in this game the defense has definitely had their number and here they are late you're asking yourself why are they still running the football trailing this much late in the game but that's basically the microcosm of how this game is gone the Gamecock will send out the punt unit fourth time tonight we've seen this guy come on to [Applause] punt excellent coverage that time didn't give him any room to set up a big return over first and [Music] 10 Texas A&M has it back and we say howdy to the aie offense again guys that last trip a little disappointing having to take the three yeah I think Jesse you see so many offenses talk about getting yards and the tempo and all the stuff they do was a nice job moving the football but they got to get in the end zone this time yeah and I think to do that they just got to be more physical at the point of attack get some push up front they need to be the best running team in this game to win halfway there on first down it's second and five they'll keep it on the ground trying to milk the clock that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there line is set on third [Applause] down the give to the tail back and there were some collisions in there in the Deep final stops him short of the marker Texas A&M will have to boot it away they'll have to punt for the first time this afternoon catches it cleanly at the 20 they'll get down and put a stop to the return at about the 28 yd line first and the South Carolina offense is back on the field at this point it really hasn't been your best day just try to find something to build on here at the end David yeah just try to keep fighting show your kids you're going to keep fighting keep throwing the football try to get some points up Palmer points have been at a premium they haven't scored very much but keep fighting man yeah and just you know try to find things to build off of for next week as well right I mean it's all about continuing to improve week in and week out so whether that's identifying Playmakers or just seeing what you can come up with here at the end of this game and not quitting the give to the back back they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks well the defense knew coming into this one it was going to be a physical game guys are going to have to be great at the point of attack and get off blocks and make tackles it couldn't stop the offense from picking up that first down on that run play you'll take four yards on first down every time second and six you know it's so important for offenses to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down after the productive first down play it's second and six can't get him to the ground finally pulled down but not before moving the chains for a first [Music] [Applause] down
