The Young Turks Project 2025 Situation

Anna casparian is now acting as a press secretary for project 2025 I mean she got retweeted by Tim Po known foreign agent so what is [Music] this there's other stuff and like I hesitate to even bring this up because people are hellbent on being scared about project 2025 but let me just be clear what the hell hey speaking of um so-called Independent Media that definitely got corrupted by um by investment from uh from another group you know he about something there are all sorts of allegations about the Heritage foundation's document which again they release every election cycle this is the first time we have the Democratic party specifically tying it to Donald Trump because some of the people associated with the Heritage Foundation used to be in Trump's Administration I mean a few hundred of them like a few hundred of them and also this is the first time the Heritage Foundation plan has specifically called for the dismantling of American American democracy in the administrative state by replacing tens of thousands of federal workers with loyalists abusing a presidential power that's essentially never been used before that allows them to fire people for no reason and like appoint your own Replacements I mean I don't know it seems a little bit significant it's also the first time a person who wrote the forward for the plan ended up in the ticket that's true okay does that mean that Trump is you think Trump respects anyone who was in his administration but okay let let's talk about the specific allegations that we've heard about what's in Project 2025 which is a 900 page document the media knows that most Americans they don't have the bandd you you guys do all realize that they've also been paid off right like the gas leak narrative is fun but you do you do know that like tyt complained about not having enough money Chen yuger uh ran a presidential campaign that was essentially just a way of driving attention to the business it didn't work uh and then like almost overnight all of their talking points ended up rapidly shifting further to the right like come on come on with to sit down and read a 900 page document so they get to say whatever they want about it they get like do you think it's a coincidence that there are like 47 grifters who used to work with tyt think of the culture there okay yeah Anna kasparan had a meltdown on a live show about Hassan making more money than her yeah it's it's yeah I don't know man age document so they get to say whatever they want about it they get they get to claim that it includes all sorts of things it doesn't even actually say so for instance vice president haris said on July 23rd that project 2025 called for cutting Social Security it was not a one-time mistake she also o said at a July 11th 2024 campaign event project 2025 includes a plan to cut Social Security well newsguard which uh does a pretty good job in factchecking these types of claims on both sides uh took a doesn't it call for cutting entitlements like specifically one area that project 2025 doesn't touch on as Social Security benefits and any potential cuts to the program even as proposals outline changes to numerous other government quote entitlements considering the fact that the Republican party has signaled they want to cut Social Security spending anyway I feel like a broad non-specific attack entitlements can be read pretty clearly as an attack on Social Security yeah in a March 2024 CNBC interview Trump said of entitlement programs such as social secur social security quote there's a lot you can do in terms of entitlements in terms of cutting however he quickly walked that statement back yeah of course he did because the Republicans have wanted to cut Social Security for a while but if you can't run on that their whole base is Boomers obviously they can't run on that if they say it they have to walk it back this the problem is is like if you're factchecking somebody for making claims and that person is a liar what do you do when the liar says they don't believe a thing it seems like they believe like if Donald Trump says oh no I'm not going to cut Social Security I just don't believe him sorry a look and they found out that uh the project 2025 policy Playbook titled mandate for leadership the conservative promise does not even mention any propotion changes to Social Security I mean it mentions entitlements like again it's like how much credit are you willing to give the group of militant fascists who are looking to dismantle our federal government when they signal it something but don't explicitly say it I mean what do you want the crazy thing here is that like didn't didn't The Young Turks like they're literally building a brand off of being a dissident that challenges power and yet um they are just accepting the Heritage Foundation at their word like the most obvious Liars in the world the most straightforwardly dishonest we are writing a plan to destroy democracy uh guys in the universe and it's like well no their plan doesn't specifically say they want to change Social Security it's just something that their leaders keep mentioning and then walking back and also they're talking vaguely about entitlements but not specifying what exactly they mean you know how it is on page 605 they recommend shifting Social Security from the federal government to state governments I don't even remember that part of the plan 605 in the in the dock or 605 on page anyone else get really annoyed by that where you don't know if a person means the page number of the PDF or the page number of the actual document and I know people usually mean of the actual document but sometimes they don't and then you go to the wrong one of the two and you're confused for a second then you're yeah the states worker-led benefits experimentation worker Le socialism is this the greatest Heritage Foundation governing plan of all time remember when Anna kasparian was praising the teamsters guy for speaking at the RNC in a speech that was so hated and disastrous that it was condemned by the entire left including the left leaning workers of the Teamsters Union the next conservative Administration should encourage UI Innovation by capitalizing on a key feature of the system principle of conservative policymaking federalism state governments already administer employment unemployment benefits and have broad discretion over their program existing statuto language in the Social Security Act does not prohibit non-public organizations from ministering the program nor does it specifically authorize states to do so um hey guys do you think that uh privatizing Social Security or leaving it uh to the states is going to increase or decrease Social Security benefits for old people just really quick just think back to history for a second what it means when programs are delegated from the federal government to private corporations and or individual states and I just want you to think all the Boomers who live in Louisiana how's your Social Security going to fair from your bankrupt ass State at least we're not Mississippi yeah but you're not as far off as you'd like to be okay great uh left leaning news Outlet the g.com Advance the myth that project 2025 proposes Banning Muslims the Mandate for leadership includes no mention of a Muslim ban or any religion or ethnicity specific entry ban you know Trump's Muslim ban also didn't specify Muslim ban it banned a set of countries identified as security risks by the Obama Administration like this is literally the same talking point Republicans did back in what 2017 where they were like it's not a Muslim ban it's just a targeted immigration ban from these countries that all happen to be like very majority Muslim you know wait is she literally using statements by some right-winger idiots for her argument she's reading out a quote Oh my God I mean I don't know it's just like as a general rule whenever you see people say stuff that doesn't make sense um it's probably because they're being paid to say it I'm really sorry but that is how it is most of the time okay when you see people who are saying things that are like incompatible with reality or with previous views that you know they've held if they've demonstrated that they're capable of proper reasoning and Analysis and then they randomly just start saying things they should know better about they're probably getting paid to say it guys you you like Anna kasparan put the fries in the bag girl you know you think she wants to you think she wants to go back to a you know doing a a nin to5 like we all we all know everyone who works on YouTube knows how lucky they are to not be putting the fries in the bag they are I me myself included thankfully you know I get I run a lean ship I made I managed to make my uh my quotas off of YouTube AdSense and you guys donating I uh I don't I don't need to defend project 2025 do you think the majority report guys are grifters I mean there's a lot of people there but I don't think I've ever seen them do or say anything that wreaked of it to me I'm just telling for obvious calls like The Young Turks have made it pretty obvious you know I don't think the majority reports ever done anything that just um I I don't think they've done anything that comes across that Hassan either by the way you guys love to give Assan [ __ ] and he says a lot of stupid things but ass's bad positions are much more easily explained by him wanting to be a cool EB boy celebrity of the left and unthinkingly adopting some of their Dumber positions because he doesn't want to get into like an infight argument with the people who are weirdly defensive over Russia that's way way way more likely than the idea of him getting paid to say those those things I don't I just I've never seen anything that would point to that you know you just have to think of the likely explanation you know Hassan's trying to appeal to a specific audience I think he believes what he says and for the most part the stuff that he says is correct on some positions he joins in with like I don't know what what do they call it the Dum Dum left M you know mandate a little bit but this is in another world man this is in a whole different this is in a whole different world the majority report might do sponsors but you're right I don't think doing sponsors means that you're a grifter I mean I think that sponsor run the risk of in in practice or in perception delegitimizing the authenticity of your show but I mean like what like it's it's a job you know like yeah I don't think sponsors are how a lot of people are able to do their work right like there's tons of YouTuber video essayists or live streamers who literally could not make ends meet doing this work if they didn't do sponsorships and like do I really give a [ __ ] if some YouTuber's doing a World of Tanks uh whatever or like Dollar Shave Club I don't I don't care yeah like I I don't care you showed World of Tanks a bad game yeah I was more of a war Thunder guy which is also a bad game it's all nordvpn yeah and ground news I got to check
