the series two games to one they had a one- nothing lead two outs nobody on in the bottom of the eighth inning and they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in Kansas City and now they go to two games of this series all the way up until the bottom of the eighth inning tonight when they scored five times and that's why we call it a royal flush right you know what a royal flush is A2 three it's in order of the same suit so that's what the Royals did to the Marland today scoring five runs in the eighth to win 5 to one they had two outs nothing was even going their way you know and then the PMP boys came up again the PMP boys did it all series for them man and these two dudes I'm glad to see them gone as any Marlin fan would be these two guys have just killed on Friday night it was Vinnie pascolo and Salvador Perez these two guys with the the single and the double that drove in the tying in go-ahead runs today and it would just get silly they sent nine men to the plate Massie made the first out and the last out of the inning and it was just terrible man one ZIP Marlins nobody on base two out bottom of the eighth Tanner Scott was unavailable in the eighth inning because he had pitched so much lately didn't want to try to get that two-inning save from him today and if it had been the ninth he'd have been out there you know but in the eighth it was too soon and braban and just couldn't get it done man bra braban and and um braban and uh why am I losing my thought process here where did we go braban and um um it wasn't Puck and it wasn't um trying to remember who they brought in I think it was sha it was shua bear with me a second guys I'm trying to get this video back for you and come on baby come on baby here we go come on there we go all right all right we're still going there we are all right yeah so 51 the final the Royals with the royal flush they get six hits in a row and everybody got in on the ACT in that ninth inning for the most part it seemed like any anyway for Kansas City two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning nobody on Tanner Scott not available for the two-inning save and it just got bad and ugly for the Marlins there a whole mess mess of ugly for braz bent and really we haven't even talked about Valente yet this dude wow it just was an incredible debut for Valente beoo Valente beoo today pitched really well he didn't deserve the Fate he got he 24 years old making his first big league appearance let alone his first big League start and he just dealt man 24y old Mexican right-hander four pitches changing speeds on all of them looking good all night he pitched uh how many innings did he pitch beoo he pitched five innings I believe W the starters aren't going far these days it drives me crazy night in and night out yeah beoo pitched five innings I like the sound of his name too beoo five shutout innings for the Marlins only gave up two hits hardly threw any pitches too and you know you could have left him out there a quick hook for skip lately and got to love it when the Skip's name is Skip it's kind of like you get both meanings there but he you know what I mean I'm not going to kill him you can't have Scott for the two inning save the bull Pen's been really good the middle relievers so you say Hey kid you did great five innings let's not you know just kind of handle him with kid gloves a little bit protect his confidence and say hey man you did a great job we'll we'll see what happens from here with the bullpen and unfortunately for the Marlins it all fell apart in the eighth inning and that just it went terribly from from there on your locked on Marlins postcast we'll get to that right now moving along on your Wednesday it's hump day baby a nobody humping around at least not here anyway um let's see where we at okay in the bottom of I mean really nothing really happened in this game until the bottom of the eighth inning but here we go okay top of the first Brady singer looked good for the Royals that slider Sinker combo all night long confounding the Marlins hitters and I mean everyone's been confounding the Marlins hitters lately but again Kansas SK Kansas Skitty Kansas skid get what I did there Kansas City scored no runs in 25 Innings heading into the series and one run in 18 Innings over an 18 inning stretch in games two and three of the series you know they were shut out yesterday or they scored one run yesterday in the first inning yeah that's right and then um today of course it was a different story for Kansas City but it all came in one inning let's run through what happened real quick for you not a lot to go through honestly speaking jazz started off the game for the Marlins with a base hit to right field you're thinking hey it's all right we're going to get things started here and nope caught stealing for jazz he's gone De La Cruz flies out to right Bell walks with two outs Sanchez singles to right first and second rotor in scoring position Burger Strikes Out Swinging and the Marlins are done bottom of the first nothing doing for KC and beoo looking good to start the game and you're always wondering how a 24 year old kid a rookie is going to start the game four seamers hitting 90 the sweepers only 79 a big sweeper and then 81 on the change up but you know he didn't he looked pretty good you know he got Garcia to foul out he hit Whit junor with a pitch maybe a little bit of nerves there got the for seamer up to 92 93 but it was Sweeper for seam and change up for him for the most part Pas quintino popped up that was a huge out for him and then Perez grounded a third Marlins in the second scored their only run of the game this is getting old RBI single from Nick fortez to score vtor bruan who had doubled the left with two outs Jazz struck out to end the inning Royals in the bottom of the second with a big threat they got two hits and didn't score this is where I really was impressed by beo Lofton grounded out to Short Stop Melendez lined out to Second you got two outs the Royals did a lot with two outs today and with two outs they get two hits Hunter Ren singles to left and Ferman doubles to Short Stop which was a crazy play in and of itself check out the highlights and then they got hamson striking out swinging there to end the second inning Marlins top of the third Brady sing are just cruising slider Sinker slider Sinker ground balls strikeouts ground balls you know and um you got De La Cruz Bell and Sanchez in order Royals in the bottom of the third strikeout Garcia to fly outs top of the fourth for the Marlins one hit with two outs Gordon double to Center nothing doing there bottom four for the Royals one two3 Perez lofted Melendez and then in the fifth inning Brady singer continuing to cruise fortez tried to bunt got thrown out third baseman got him Chism and de Cruz strikes out and then beoo in the fifth which would be his last inning before they brought in Bender Renfro fouls out fine flies out and hson grounds out to the catcher gets a one two3 inning in the fifth had only thrown in the 70s for pitches Marlins in the six one two three Bell Sanchez Berger nope bottom of the six for KC Anthony Bender in for Miami both of them looking Garcia and wit then he gets pasquantino with a double to left field and Perez Strikes Out Swinging to end the inning bottom seven for the Marlins and Brady singer still on the bump how often do you see a starter the seventh inning these days and Brady singer Lopez Strikes Out Swinging Gordon grounds out the second pan to Short Stop bottom seven for the Royals nardy one hit in the inning it was just a single from Hunter Renfro with two outs Marlins in the top of the eighth against Brady singer automatic strike on fortez and he's gone and that was a bad call if you ask me as zerpa pitching for Kansas City comes in for singer to get Chisum and dla Cruz the top of the order de Cruz strikes out again there and then the wheels fall off I'mma rock it till the wheels fall off hold up they did Massie Strikes Out swing and Garcia grounds out to short two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning one more out in that inning and three more to go in the ninth it's a one-run game obviously one ZIP so anything can happen but with braban on the mound and Tanner Scott unavailable for the two-inning safe situation it just got ugly man Bobby Whit Jr who had a tough Series in a lot of ways triples to center field pass quintino sing singles with scores okay tie game brazan falls apart Blanco runs for pasquantino steals second base right away on a head first slide Perez doubles to left scores Blanco Melendez singles to right lopt in to third first and third wiro walks Melendez to Second Bas is loaded for Ferman singles to left Lofton and Melendez score it's 5-1 by the time Massie comes up for the second time in the inning and grounds out to end the frame it was five runs on six hits they batted around it was beer league softball they were running the bases with pictures of and cigarettes hanging out of their mouths by the end of this game and it happens far too often against this Miami Marlins team top of the nth Marlins nothing doing Bell grounds out Sanchez grounds Out Burger grounds out and just like that the ball game and the series are over capish adios Marlins you lose two out of three and you had a you had a lead in the bottom of the eighth inning just couldn't get it done but they're an exciting team they're a fun team they're in these games and you know I like watching them day in and day out and I'm not one of those fans who only watches for the result if you only watch for the result in a sport like this you're going to be disappointed you're going to be majorly majorly disappointed if you're just looking and they score five in the bottom of the eighth in in Kansas City to win five to one they take the series two games to one the Marlins were playing so well they scored the four runs yesterday they went out against singer today and they didn't hit very well they didn't have a good game but you know what when I look at what this team's been doing lately they keep themselves in games the pitching's been good man they deserve better these kids coming up these kids coming up man and and what beoo was able to do today vava Valente I love the kid I I love I love the mindset and I I I have to be careful because I don't want to generalize too much but I've been in sports for 30 years and just covering athletes from that part of the world not just Mexico but like C Cal America South America as well the fundamentals the skills the competitive nature and spirit they're tough you know what I mean they can give a punch as well as take one you know what I mean metaphorically speaking and I just love the grit I love the tenacity I love the toughness of this kid beoo they're finding some things here I mean look dude do I have to even get on the injured list I will in the next segment when we wrap it up and we talk about the Phillies as well but Valente comes in today out of nowhere 24 years old and obviously all the scouting reports aren't there and we've seen it with dant Willis in the past when he came in and just lit the league on fire in 03 and everybody sort of figured him out toward the end and there might have been a little bit of arm fatigue shout out to the dra Train by the way my boy we keep in touch every once in a while and um boy did he light the league on fire in 03 with Miguel Cabrera those two guys as rookies it actually really ticks me off when I sit and think of all the players who have worn the Marlins uniform over the years years and then where they went after the 97 team you kind of knew it was going to happen but Wayne haena and I don't want to take anything away from Wayne or bech his memory in anyway my wife was his dental hygienist for years my ex-wife um at the time she was my wife obviously one time he left his wallet in her dental chair true story she's a hygienist in Florida in Fort Lauderdale at the time he leaves his wallet she finds a wallet in her chair and she looks in it and it's just like all these gold every no money and H Wayne hazinga and she's like man if ever you want to find a wallet but you know a Billionaire's wallet is never going to have any money in there because they make their money with other people's money and that's why Wayne didn't keep that team together so that was not a surprise but man when you think about Sheffield and brown and lighter Alex Fernandez coming home from Chicago oh man that team Council and renaria and Devon white and conine of course and Bobby Bo and I didn't like Bobby Bo but the rest of those dudes you know and then um 03 that was a fun team with Don I did the Marlins postgame show on the radio and pregame show on the radio that year dantrell and Miggy coming in and you already had those guys like Mike LOL and conines back and Mike L is one of my favorite guys I ever met in any sport but all those guys who came and went over the years none of them sting more than Miguel Cabrera and dantrell Willis because what they started in 03 and I know dantrell didn't have the kind of career that you know he started it off with and no one could um kind of like that Jeremy linstar Lin sanity you know dra train had in 03 and um I remember railing for hours on the radio with Jeff DeForest with defo the day of game six in New York makan a why are they pitching Becket on two days three days rest when you got dra train lined up or Brad Penny and Becket and uh Trader Jack kind of showed me what I knew absolutely nothing but this Marlin team is a lot of fun just like last year's was right and I'll get to the injuries look your Ace is out for the year you have three other starters who would be in the rotation right right now who are out that's four of the five man lazardo weathers Alcantara dude it's been a bad year it's been a tough year I won't say bad year you don't want to give any excuses it's been a tough year for Miami to say the least with the losing streaks and just a long long year and the box scores don't take much today Chisum had a hit Sanchez had a hit Gordon and bran and fortez had a hit in an RBI bran had a hit in a run scored nobody had two hits that's a theme for the Marlins pitching beoo five innings two hits no runs no walks two strikeouts 72 pitches Bender an inning a hit three strikeouts nardy an inning one hit two KS braban two-thirds of an inning five hits five runs all earned one strike out he got ripped and Shaga came in and gave up one hit Shaga gave up one hit in a third of an inning of work and then the Royals will never be royals Garcia 0 for four Whit one for three with the Run scored pastino two for four with the riby Bronco 0 for o with a run scored excuse me what did he do was a sacrifice bun or something he didn't get a hit didn't walk anyway Perez one for four with an RBI and a run scored Lofton same one for four RBI one scored one for four with a run for Melendez two for three for Hunter rro two for four with two rbi's for fmin I won't say fine because that name but Ferman it's Ferman in his case not to be confused with Mark Ferman who you probably have no idea these whiskers are a little gray for a reason 0 for two for hamson 0 for two for Massie both in the same inning Massie came on to pinch hit in the bottom of the eighth let off struck out came up at the end of the inning and grounded out he made both outs book end in that bottom of the eighth inning where they scored 25 Innings KC and the Marlins come in this weekend and hold them to seven runs in three days that's a huge huge huge performance by the Marlins pitching staff and that includes by the way that includes the five runs today no it wasn't seven it was five and five 10 runs in three games excuse me but that includes the five run eighth inning today five in the eth right so obviously you can't take that away it's just this team has to start hitting they're not helping their pitchers out at all by giving them time to rest between Innings they're going one two three swinging at everything they're just not getting anything going I love the talent they have I love the aggressiveness I love the way that they play for themselves for each other the fun that they have and it's been translating to a lot more wins lately look when you start the season 0 and N right and this team right now is what when you're talking about starting the season 0 and9 this team is 28 and 51 so if you started out for and five even you got 32 wins right and you got 47 losses but then you had two five game losing streaks and a six game losing streak you win half those game you know what I mean you just can't have those those runs where it's that bad you just can't you just can't and it was just a tough one today for them and they head to Philly now and man the Phillies have just been killing yep Rogers Trevor Rogers is like the only starter who's healthy for the Marlins but look I Munoz did all right the other day too chinos pitched well I don't know who's going to pitch tomorrow beoo went today I don't know um who's who's going to come back up we'll see but with the injury situation still being so cloudy Sanchez on the 60-day I now weathers has been feeling a little bit better are going to be reeval this week could begin a throwing program that'd be huge for them Ryan weathers could be back as soon as next week Lardo on the 60-day lumbar stress reaction likely out four to six weeks from Saturday which was just a few days ago Cabrera Edward 15 to 60-day I with the shoulder impingement so that's weathers and lazardo your two best pitchers so far this season Cabrera and Sanchez who have started games and now Braxton Garrett as well with the elbow so are you counting Sanchez six Cabrera Garrett lazardo and weathers that's that's a five spot right there that's a
