connections to Supreme Court dark money operative are attacking voting rights in Battleground states in the leadup to the 2024 election behind a new slate of GOP lawsuits aimed at at suppressing voters in electoral Battleground States is a Cadre of Voters tied to Leonard Leo the judicial activist widely credited with engineering the Supreme Court's conservative super majority on August the 8th the Republican National Comm National Committee filed A Lash ditch legal challenge in Arizona asking the US Supreme Court to remove 40,000 people from the state's voter Rose by Thursday the deadline for some counties to print ballots the case could tip the election results in a critical swing state that President Joe Biden won in 2020 by less than 11,000 votes so because their [ __ ] asses are pushing legislation that's not popular and voters are like no [ __ ] you you are not who we want they're trying to take people off swing States voter RS [ __ ] you [ __ ] let me say that again for you [ __ ] you [ __ ] the lawyer leading Republican CA the Republicans case is Tyler green a partner at consie McCarthy PC a small but highly influential conservative Law Firm that has received Millions from a Leo link nonprofit he is also the administrative Trust of a dark money slush fund run by Leo that in 2022 received a record breaking 1.6 billion Don dollar donation from an elusive billionaire surprise surprise green and other con McCarthy attorneys are also spearheading legal attacks on voting rights and three other Battleground States Georgia Michigan and Nevada another dark money group Todd Leo has filed briefs in support of the Republicans cases in Arizona and Georgia so yeah these [ __ ] these sacks of garbage are like let's just take people off a ballot to make sure we win you know cuz the actual Fair honest democracy that's too [ __ ] hard for us we can't win that way if you would actually do goddamn things for the [ __ ] people instead being [ __ ] but no no you don't [ __ ] you [ __ ] [ __ ] you Leo and his political apparatus have exerted influence by installing conservative judges then spear heading cases before those judges that have the potential to skew the country's laws in their favor it's why Leo is credited with helping to overturn Ro v Wade and now his operation appears to be using the same Playbook to control swing state ballot boxes with the potential to tip the scales this November obviously conie McCarthy is a law firm that engages in cases on behalf of its clients and or said Lisa Graves the founder of executive and executive director of The Watch Dog group True North research but what you see here is a close alignment with Leonard Leo who has orchestrated the packing of the US Supreme Court in order to limit our rights over the last four years the 85 fund a dark money group linked to Leo has paid conie McCarthy more than $3 million for legal research and services according to public tax records reviewed by the lever The Firm represented the 85 Fund in its attempt to give state legislators more control over redistricting and elections see these [ __ ] are trying to change the country from within they know their ideas are not popular and that average Americans don't want that [ __ ] but they're happy to try to take away our rights to vote so they have more of a chance to push it into effect this is why dark money groups period I don't care what goddamn party uses them should be banned along with leading the new Arizona Case green is also representing the GOP in a case in Georgia to defend a state voter suppression law his Law Firm is also representing conservative uh groups in recent cases in Michigan and Nevada the advocat waren could suppress voting in the Battleground States green and two other cons McCarthy attorneys working on these cases clerked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas a close Ally of Leo who is mired in ethic scandals the law firm did not return a request for comment from the lever on Tuesday he wants someone he can trust Leo armed with the ever growing network of dark money groups has for decades helped construct a supreme court these Supreme Courts conservative majority super majority and the rightward bend of the federal federal Judiciary formerly Donald Trump's judicial advisor Leo is the chair of the board of directors for the Federalist Society a prominent conservative Legal Group and one of the main powers behind the ideas in Project 2025 Leonard Leo has played a central role in fact in the the central Row in packing the US Supreme Court with right-wing ideologues who are advancing his agenda [ __ ] Psychopaths Leo has welded Power by amassing immense Financial influence through a network of clandestine nonprofits that obscure where exactly his billions are going an arrangement that are is now under investigation by Washington DC's attorney general Leo's Network bankr Supreme Court Justice Amy Cony Barrett's confirmation campaign and arranged payments to Jenny Thomas Clarence Thomas's wife who while his legal groups had cases before The Supreme Court in 2022 the lever exposed a historic $1.6 billion payment from a billionaire with a history of funding conservative causes to a Leo nonprofit called the marble Freedom trust since then the dark money group has dished out Millions to anti-abortion groups and enriched Leo's for profit Consulting arm CRC advisors Leo assembled a small group of close allies to manage marble freedom trust and its billion dooll Fortune the nonprofits tax filing show aside from Leo himself there are three names listed as officers at the nonprofit the husband of one of Leo's longtime employees the president of CRC advisors and green the partner at conie McCarthy so yeah this [ __ ] Leonard Leo is an evil [ __ ] he's done nothing but take away American rights he knows that their ideation is not [ __ ] popular that's why they've had to pack the Supreme Court and they're working to take suppress voter rights and take people off voter rows you know as long as you're American you should have the right to vote you know it's [ __ ] is what it is very anti-democracy anti-American but these [ __ ] don't care they're dealing with the rich the powerful it's [ __ ] like this who have screwed America over green is listed as an administrative trustee in the nonprofit which generally refers to someone who manages day-to-day operations of a trust he has served in the role since the trust founding in 2020 and according to tax filings is unpaid as a trust the marble Freedom trust does not have to disclose most details of its operation but tax documents list its headquarters at as a house owned by Green in North Salt Lake Utah David armc the recent search director at the center for media and democracy called Green's r a significant one Leo wants someone he can trust it's over a billion dollars he said they came at the last minute conie McCarthy has proved a growing force in recent years scoring a number of major victories at the Supreme Court yeah after you packed the goddamn thing including two June 2023 rulings that ended affirmative action in college admissions last month The Firm notched another win the High Court ruled in favor of their client in corner post versus Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System a case that may leave a huge swave of Federal Regulations V vulnerable to attack it's we don't need more D regulation godamn it it's time we need to re-regulate to tighten down but no these [ __ ] are like we want to [ __ ] over out of the public eye and made his name in part by litigating a landmark election case Shelby County versus hoder that undid federal election protections implemented by the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in the decade after the Shelby ruling States enacted dozens of new restrictions on voting all the while Leo and his allies were also working to undermine election protections across the country in 2004 Leo started a nonprofit called the judicial education project later named the 85 fund and also known by its legal alias the honest elections project yeah [ __ ] you godamn liar listen to the names he gives them judicial education project honest elections project [ __ ] it's let's make you think what we want you to think propagandize your ass because we know otherwise if you really knew what the [ __ ] was happening you would want it it funneled Millions to voter suppression efforts and other conservative causes in 2013 the judicial education project filed in Amicus brief in support of con's case in Shelby C Shelby County versus hoder after Cony founded his own founded his own firm in 2014 it began working directly with the judicial education project and its later iteration since 2016 the first year the nonprofit supported payments to the law firm con mcarthy has received more than $4.5 million in legal fees from the 85 fund as it submitted amicus briefs for the nonprofit in election cases in front of the Supreme Court voting rights Advocates have taken note of the law firm's interventions the first time that I noticed con V McCarthy coming into a case I was working on I was working on was in a voting rights case in 2019 said Jeff mandelle the co-founder of law Ford a Wisconsin based voting rights organization The Firm which was representing the honest elections project intervened in case in a case to support the attempted Purge of a quarter million voters from the State's voter Rose 250,000 people all of a sudden conab McCarthy came in at the last minute Mandel recalled while their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful the firm's intervention in which it raised new arguments in the case was just jarring said Mandel and representative of how in Wisconsin and elsewhere dark money organizations don't have any apparent connection to the state but suddenly are weighing in and trying to persuade courts to distort Wisconsin laws to make it harder for people to vote this year consie McCarthy also submitted a brief supporting and effort to maintain a ban on ballot dropboxes in Wisconsin which was ultimately unsuccessful Thomas Mccarthy the founder of conie McCarthy has also been listed in the Republican National committee's motions to restrict voting in Minnesota Mississippi and Georgia con McCarthy received 4.1 million from the committee this election cycle according to Federal Election Commission report or records the small cautery of people including apparently Mr Leo are hiring the same lawyers over and over and over and dispatching them around the country to weigh in the laws in states to which those people don't have any connection Mandel said green the trustee of Leo's marble fund trust has been at the Forefront of many of these cases including the corner post case that was decided in July so yeah pack the godamn Supreme Court and start filling it full of cases pushed by rightwing Psychopaths the [ __ ] cases to try to strip away the Voting Rights of Americans not illegals godamn it because they can't vote if they're illegal you have to have identification you dumb [ __ ] godamn I hate this stupid [ __ ] in four ongoing election cases in Battleground States worrying voting rights Advocates who warn the cases could limit access to the PO in the states they are targeting the Arizona case stems from a 2022 state law that would have required Arizona voters to provide additional proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections a law that was struck down by a judge in February after a flurry of legal challenges from voting rights groups in the state but earlier this month the Republican National Committee represented by green and other conie McCarthy attorneys asked the Supreme Court to intervene and block voters from participating in the November elections if they did could if they did not provide sufficient proof of citizenship [ __ ] that's already a god this is like the goddamn [ __ ] they did with the driver's license hey do you have proof of citizenship driver's lessons yes I was born here I'm so old I've you know I've lived here your driver's license no longer function you have to have other proof of citizenship like a star on your license to prove that your license is valid see this is the kind of [ __ ] they pull they don't give a goddamn [ __ ] about America it's all about them their power their wealth their control but there're still stupid people who back that kind of stupidity which I don't God damn get it's clear as a goddamn Bell that they're [ __ ] over Americans in its case in Nevada which is asking a judge to force several counties in the state to purge voters from their rows arguing that the voter registration tallies are inaccurate conie McCarthy is also representing the committee in a similar case in Michigan in Georgia green and other cons B McCarthy M attorneys are representing Republican officials in their defense of a law that voting rights Advocates say makes it more difficult for people to vote particularly black voters by limiting early voting and ballot dropboxes oh you know they hate early voting but it was explained yeah it'll look like you're leading but a lot of early voters are blue are Democrat are left and they wind and bitched and complain when it looked like hey where the start and then when the right-wing cuck saw the friends with Leo since before he became a Supreme Court Justice cone after clerking for Thomas in 2008 called The Justice he hero and 5 years later the Justice was among the five4 majority that ruled in favor of consie and the judicial education projects effort to strip election Protections in Shelby County versus hoder three celby McCarthy attorneys in the new election cases green Gilbert Dicky and Patrick Strawbridge also clerked for Clarence Thomas another attorney involved Thomas Mccarthy has long been co-director of the Supreme Court clinic at the Antonin Scalia law school at George Mason University where Clarence Thomas regularly teaches thanks to funding from Leo's Network a fifth lawyer involved in the cases Connor Woodland received his law degree from the school so yeah [ __ ] in other words this dark Money Network trickles down into all these various lawsuits across the country that are tying to disenfranchise voters said Matt Cohen a senior staff writer at the Democracy docket which attacks voting rights litigation across or which tracks voting rights litigation across the country thanks to Leo he said right-wing organizations trying to limit voting in places like Arizona and Nevada have an unlimited bank account let me all give you a tip here y'all packed the Supreme Court they overturned a 50-year president in r b Wade and when States tried to make it solid so that yeah it's against our state laws for abortion to happen many of those states that were supposed to be right-wing States they still voted and said a woman should have the right if it when these were voting decisions left up to the actual people people not representative are [ __ ] Insider elitist groups like Leo and his [ __ ] for brain [ __ ] friends here what we need that were they voted to make sure women have some U abortion rights it shows what they're doing is not popular with the people period period and there is no [ __ ] argument against it godamn it whether the bank account will buy successes in these Battleground cases Still Remains to be seen Republicans asked the Supreme Court to hand down a ruling in the Arizona case by th Thursday but for now he is the case is still pending as two are the three other cases brought by the law firm still Leo has a track record of being Victorious when Leonard Leo was put has put his resources and operatives to task
