Xavier McKinney feels the locker room 'has a sense of urgency' following loss

um I mean I I think I felt good um I think defensively uh I think we know what we have to do to improve from this game obviously it's just it's just one game week one um so we can't uh the world's not over obviously we got a lot of time to fix it um but kind of you know what was set in the locker room is just having a sense of urgency um knowing that you know we just got to go into next week with uh you know that sense of urgency and ready to fix the things that we did wrong and uh we're going to be critical of ourselves watching this film on the way back and um you know we going to be better A lot better you know next week I think uh we know we we we didn't hold up to the standard that we wanted to be defensively um but you know we we'll get that fixed and uh I I don't think we'll have an issue moving forward um biggest difference I think is uh just a time change I guess uh it's not that much of a time change here than it was in London um and then obviously uh in London we we could um you know do a lot more kind of outside of uh the hotel and where we were staying uh here we were kind of just in a hotel the whole time but uh it's a business trip uh we came down here for for a game and um you know we weren't able to uh get the result that we wanted um but it is what it is we we we live and we learn and uh we correct you know moving forward uh you talking as a unit like defensively yeah I think uh we just got to be better all around the board execution wise I don't think we uh and we don't really think we executed well today and uh we kind of gave up just little things that um it was like very uncharacteristic U from us so um um we just got to be better all around the board I mean myself included um so like I said we'll get it fixed once we watch the film and and you know be critical of ourselves uh we kind of already know you know what we could have been better with um I know for myself like I know exactly what I could have been better with already um but you know we you know it's all it's not always as as bad as it it seems um so we like I said we going to go watch the film and see what we can do but I think just overall um as far as communication uh execution of of you know what half calls and um uh you know we missed a lot of tackles today just a lot of things across the board that we that we got to improve on say that one more time oh uh it was it was good today um I think it could be a lot better obviously uh but I thought it was good for for our first game for his first game as a you know NFL player um obviously I think he's going to be a great player in this league um so just helping trying to help him uh and keep helping him improve and and you know figuring out ways where you know he can be better and we can you know I can be better for him um but I thought it was good today uh we just going to keep keep stacking um you know keep finding ways where you know you know he can improve and he going to do the same you know he critiques himself uh you know very hard and um you know he strives for Perfection so I know uh you know how he's built uh we we built from that same Clause so um I know he'll he'll you know get back into the meeting room we'll get back into the meeting room together and um you know we'll find ways where we can both improve and and uh try to help this defense be better uh I didn't um but I mean there were some cases where I was slipping it was a little little slippery uh different than obviously uh what I'm kind of used to uh but you know it's it's just another circumstance obviously every field is going to be different uh we got to be able to um you know no matter the circumstance still be able to do our jobs and do it at a high level so so um really you know we try to Pride on ourselves on no matter what we're playing at no matter what that surface is or what it's like uh we got to go in there and and you know play a very good game and and and try to have a better outcome than today say that one more time the the field you said oh um I mean I thought I thought it was it was fun I went out there and in uh warm-ups and uh I wore seven studs um just so I can get my cleat more into the ground and um I thought I was fine and then obviously we got into the game um and actually playing and I I think I slipped a couple times earlier in the game um so I actually got some uh longer studs uh coming out at halftime so I wouldn't so that wouldn't happen a lot of us was pretty much did that um but like I said like it is what it is uh you know I we we know where we got to be better at and we we we know what we got to do um it wasn't the field today it was it was us as a team and um we'll get get those things corrected and and we'll be a lot better next week yeah appreciate y'all
