True Authenticity: Being (In)Secure with Zach G Wilson

you know what I feel like this could become a little podcast but we need to stop because you got to go because we could go so much into this okay so Zach some people might not know who you are so who is Zach um my name is Zach G Wilson um I am a disciple of Jesus I am a husband father worship leader youth leader creative person yeah sums it that well I find that for me I'm here to communicate God's heart so through whether it's through film dance music interviewing whatever I really love to Champion people and to share God's heart God's life but what is it about you what is it that really makes you passionate I think I'm still trying to figure that out to be honest um I do know that I've encountered the Living God and that's something that I want to share because for so much of my life I either didn't believe in it or God was just a intellectual concept but now it's like oh meeting him when you meet Jesus it's like okay this is actually different and I would like to implement that into whatever I'm trying to communicate I love that and I know that you actually performed at my book La Discerning the times and the reason that I felt when I heard your song can't remember the name of it listen to the or wisdom and no Supernatural peace no it was one about God oh not y I was going to say Yahweh but it's not Yahweh it was one and I just heard it and you'd not actually oh Alpha Omega This song is called Alpha [Music] Omega that's it and I heard it and you hadn't even released it I don't think no I still haven't you still haven't released that as a single you need to will I've recorded it I will will come out at some point soon God will and you spoke and you shared something about what it meant so can you share that that song just came from Experiencing God and almost just being thankful you know in Isaiah it says like seek me while I I can be found kind of thing you know and it's just being thankful like wow like in this time in this day like here now I've been able to meet him you know and it's a pleasure and then wanting to continue to meet him you know the the chorus the ideas um the verses are kind of like praise and worship and then the chorus is just like I feel your spirit I want to be near him I want to be with him I want to get to know you and the Holy Spirit is is is just fascinating and to get to know the Lord more it's just a blessing I feel I to be I to be are feel your spirit I to be near I to be and I think that's what I love is that we can hear the heart of God inside of you that desire and I know that through life we have ups and downs and challenges and all kind of things and family so what is it during those testing trying times that ground you with don't you don't have a balloon but we can look for one later okay we can get one later yeah I know I have got a balloon but it's at home we'll look for one later okay sorry was a question so what is it that grounds you through the trying times or have you got any songs that you've written out of going through some challenges what has helped to carry you through those moments I can't think of a specific song in a such but one thing that actually recently I got Christian Counseling and one thing that the person was my counselor was showing me was that by Nature I'm a worshipper and sometimes I can fall into being quite ritualistic or religious in my walk with the Lord like oh I need to wake up at 5:00 and spend x amount of time in prayer and read the word this much and study and blah blah blah but like a lot of the times when I get because obviously I'm going to burn out in that capacity if I'm doing it from my flesh but some the way that I reset the way that I kind of get back to basics is just by worshiping so I can get in my prayer closet and just close the door [Music] and like sometimes it might cuz I'm like you know you're in the spirit and you might even be like improvising it it might not even be that coherent of a worship but that gets me back to a place of just like oh I'm back in intimacy and then everything else flows out of that place so it's a really good way for me to um calibrate recalibrate you know Heard a Voice listen to the wind Len to it C can you can I like that I like that and I think that's very much I joined someone recently about the fact that in church we've created this format which works for reasons you know but you can come in stand up sit down say sing a few songs say a and we can sometimes think that we've got to fit in this Mo box or this mold but actually it's about a relationship it is and like God is he's the Living God and there's not really like he's like the most personal being and that's what he desires that personal relationship and he's it's not just like input an equation to get X output kind of thing with him it's it's he really just wants to know us and I think we're just so or myself even being brought up before I got born again in a religious household is like I I fall into that quite quickly so I just have to come back and actually like you know worship and spend time and actually re God's showing me his heart for me and I'm like wow you are so good he breaks paradigms you know and I think he dos us he gives us the opportunity to fail fail in the natural so that we can fall into his arms and realize that it's all his grace what is it that you really want to communicate to your audiences you're performing what is it you're bringing one thing that I would love to communicate is just the reality of Jesus Christ as God um and to walk with him authentically and that that sometimes it it means looking for yourself like like getting to know him yourself and digging and asking questions and you know I spoke about this earlier with someone today but you know in Isaiah when it says like come like let's contend together let's reason like God can take it he can take the questions and I think sometimes we fall into this performance of like everything's okay God's good even when things aren't and you actually can be annoyed there can be things in your heart that maybe you're growing resentful to God for something but when you actually give them to him that authenticity he can work with that worshiping just it was just amazing um and we had a great experience of God a great move of God and I can't I can't actually describe it but this is I wrote the song about it so yeah pray that you guys are blessed by it I've just released a song called vices and basically it's just talking about being we're GNA go we're g to go now we're g to go now um it just talks about like uh living a life of sacrifice and giving up those vices sometimes we're tempted to kind of revert back into the vices we had in you know before Christ um and I've got yeah new singles that I'm trying to come at it musically just authent with authenticity you know to talk about the struggles that I still go through and that we all still go through with regards to Temptation or things that we're struggling with you know so that's that's the theme the general theme of the music that's coming out God is good taste and see he's here he's with us he loves you don't be afraid to ask the questions you're not going to offend God by asking him questions if anything he's it's going to allow him to work in your heart you know I love that thank you so much thank you sir thank you
