WE GET A GREAT CONFERENCE GAME AT TEMPLE | Tulane Green Wave Dynasty Y2 G7 Ep. 22

to a another Edition here of my two-lane Dynasty as we will be taking on the temple owls in this matchup uh your Green Wave are at the number three spot in the country uh currently ranked uh you know here at number three uh it's been kind of a crazy year we've been able to get away with a couple of close wins especially recently and before I get started let me make sure this is not jump me down to All American come um but yeah we've had uh it's been a very interesting season for us we are you know Finding ways to win games that last year we maybe necessarily uh did not but you know started off with a big win over LSU Duke Old Miss two really big wins there struggled to pull away from South Alabama only beating them by a score really handle business against UAB but then we're coming off just a three-point win here over us s the Bulls have definitely been our biggest rival in the conference I would say early on here it was a really good performance from Tai Thompson had some success on the ground uh I Manor had a really nice day um and Mario Williams did find the end zone as well uh largely thanks to a 69 yard touchdown but USF really runs the ball they control the clock it was a big day for Kanan Powell but it was us that you know that came out on top and uh yeah we're getting to take on Temple and it's been an up and down season for them so far uh you know got hammered by UMass on the road to start things off then only lost by a score to Oklahoma uh just a score to Georgia Tech did get beat pretty bad by San Jose State their L win of the year was a three-point win on the road against Army and then lost to North Texas here pretty bad on the road um but do get to host us here and let's take a look at the team we'll take a look at their stats and then uh yeah we'll uh we'll get this get the games rolling um they have a senior starter here at quarterback in Forest Brock he is a solid player first year starter having a decent year 12 touchdowns uh through the air six interceptions and uh has gotten a rushing score accuracy has been a little so so uh but he's certainly a solid guy not a great athlete the awareness isn't super high pretty good arm uh definitely better than the short intermediate game but if you can get pressure on him or you know take the short stuff away he can definitely struggle at running back they got jaquez Smith Tyrie Washington and Josh Forbes as their main three they're without their top wide receiver here and Ian Stewart so they'll be leaning more on Z Baines um Xavier Irvin who has pretty good speed not very big though John Adams Victor Jones maybe throw a little Bryson goodwi out there uh also without their top tight end and Rees Clark so they'll be turning into Peter Clark Daniel Evert and Dante Shakir maybe will play a little bit if they decide to put three tight ends out here they got a really good offensive line especially in this conference is definitely kind of the focal point of their offense and general um Luke Watson really really solid left tackle Mosa here really good left guard Center they got Grayson Mains again really solid Center and got a pretty good right guard here in Jackson puit right tackles a little bit of a weakness for them and Kevin Terry we'll see if that's something that we can take advantage of but our best pass rusher being Quincy Wiggins is definitely going to line up a lot more against Luke Watson so that'll probably be the matchup to watch uh they're without Trey Thomas out for a couple of weeks here uh with a dislocated elbow so one of their best players on the entire team but uh got a really solid defensive in group in general uh even without him Cameron Stewart Kevin skags disa Shelton and seoa croma and then on the right side they have Gerald Randall not expecting these freshmen to play with the depth they have at Left End defensive tackle they got demeric Morris Allen Haye um Jason Moore and Calvin cases because of an injury to conin Green but a really good defensive tackle room well balanced a nice mixture of of you know Tendencies there Jordan Montgomery a left outside linebacker just a solid athlete but a really good Zone coverage guy so something to look out for middle linebacker they have a Bradley Lily good Zone coverage pass coverage guy Tyler leolo is another pretty good you know pass coverage guy will Posey is another good you know pass coverage guy just got a lot of them not great athletes by any stretch of the imagination but definitely can hold their own Landon Hall is both their best athlete at this linebacker group and their best Zone covers guy his weaknesses against a run but has some uh pass rush to him not as much as Antoine Santiago here but 86 Zone coverage is excellent um an outside linebacker cornerback they just have five Byron Benson donio Monday jayen Lewis Daryl sweding and Jabari Cruz free safety they have Javier Morton Zack Sullivan and David big hill but he is almost assuredly not going to play but only one strong safety here in LS fry they got a freshman kicker and Chip dumbrowski and a junior punter and Dante addon let's take a look at their stats see what that tells us and again as usual we'll go over our um stats at the end of the video we again Forest Brock we've kind of already showed off his stats Run game is definitely run through Smith he's got almost all of their offensive carries you know outside of Brock with the sacks and a little bit of carries he does get Smith has found three scores on the ground averaging over four yards a carry so you know might might have some success there 14 broken tackles on just 83 carries is really strong um as well and receiving game against Z bang is there is leading the way here Irvin not really being utilized as that deep threat for them but it's been really good has found the end zone six times John Adams has been really solid got re Clark is out Ian steart are out then pretty much go straight to to Smith so they haven't used Peter Clark a whole lot so mainly those three wide receivers and Smith out of the back field don't give up a lot of sacks so a little worried about how the defense will play against him if we're not getting pressure and on defense Le poo is leading their way in tackles just kind of glancing through tackles for loss nobody really standing out here their leading sack guy Cameron Stewart has three leading interceptions they got four guys with uh with one a piece but yeah let's get it going um again you know the the biggest the what I'm pushing for in season two is just trying to make the playoffs you know something that we missed by losing out in the conference Championship game in season one trying to rebound get to the college football playoff and then then see what we can do from there got a pretty experienced team this year so trying to kind of go all in probably going to be starting you know a true freshman quarterback next year so this is kind of the obviously not a maker Break season but definitely trying to take advantage of what we do have um offensively so yeah let's uh let's get things going let's see I don't know if they have any kind of cool uniforms or not uh we'll just rock with their um they're all red and we'll just go Stormtrooper maybe we'll go Stormtrooper so red on white as we are taking a trip here to take on the Temple Owls um definitely excited to you know get back into this dynasty haven't really missed much time as far as the upload schedule but has been a couple of days since I've gotten to play hman has definitely giv me some some for games um but yeah definitely super excited here to take on the owls and see if we can get a victory looks like we got some rainy weather here uh maybe you know something that points in the favor of us we got a little bit of experience in this environment could have a better run game than they do but we'll see if that actually plays out let's see who gets the ball first as it is going to be us the Green Wave getting the ball first and we are are off that will be Lewis back on the return got a little bit of green grass but gets tackled down there before he can hit the 20 unless uh he has a show off ellic aam Manor has been excellent Force to transfer in for Stanford has already put up better stats than he did all of last year with the cardinal let's see if we can get off to a good start here got a two tight end set for two lane Mario Williams sent in motion it's a fake toss and it's going to be a hand off to Hughes who is met in the hole by la poo and we are underway with a two yard gain for the Green Wave see how tane decides to attack here in this weather been a very pass happy offense for a lot of the Season Thompson takes the snap dumps that off this is going to be a short completion to ballman it's now a third and six already for the Green Wave getting a lot of weather here something to definitely pay attention to it is a four wide receiver look for Thompson Thompson takes the snap he's going to get this over to Preston who is able to make the catch converts to third down there for the Green Wave tane stays with that same Personnel maai Hughes in the back field he is going to get the carry spins round the first guy breaks the second tackle get some good block and and takes that for a gain of seven definitely expecting to see a lot of running the ball here in this weather but you always got to be wared with this two-lane offense with these two Elite wide receivers they have Mario Williams and I Manor they like to take their shots this one he tries to throw it Mario Williams gets pushed off from his man no penalty on the play and that one is picked up off by Byron Benson that is the 11th interception thrown already for Tai Thompson this year as the turnovers just continue to play this two-lane offense not really sure what happened there Mario Williams definitely got bumped off his route at the top there and ended up not being in position at all and again throwing the ball in this weather you're definitely taking a chance and Forest Brock and this owls offense are out and it is going to be a carry to Smith on the first play he takes that for a gain of seven cutting back across the defense and as usual we see a hurry up offense here early for the owls Brock takes it it's going to be a hand off Hamilton tries to make a play but Smith able to break the tackle get another really good gain there and here we go two plays Two Carries now they have Irvin in the back field with Smith he is sent in motion going to be a play action he going to try to dump that one to the outside it is knocked away D Lane able to get a stop there sets up a second and 10 Smith still in the back field with Brock it's going to be a carry to him to the outside he is wrapped up by Mai Williams coming all the way flying across the field for a tackle for loss and it is now a third and 11 for the owls and this is going to be a draw play he's able to get around Kil go he gets around the safety Smith is going to take it into the end zone Temple up early they get the interception they get the score kilgo had Smith in the hole Smith puts a move on him puts a move on the safety Bry and they are able to get the first lead of the game here let's take a look at the replay Smith just makes kilo Miss makes Bryant miss two guys in the open field who have been excellent this year but Smith and the temple owl strike first really nice run there from Smith Temple is up seven to nothing with the D Browski extra point Dante Alton now out to kick it off Lewis just going to take this one for a touch back and two lane we'll start off at the 25 okay ready obviously the first drive interception is not at all what you're looking for here see how Tai Thompson reacts comes out in the five wide he's going to get this over to Preston Preston makes a nice grab there takes him four a gain of nine they have at times struggled to run the ball with consistently to Lane has this year a lot like last year kind of started off the season slow got better as it went along it's a carry to Hughes he is wrapped up in the back field demeric Morris makes his first big play of this one and it is now already a third down again here see what Thompson tries to set up here got a bunch set over to his right he takes the snap he going to get this to Mario Williams Williams shows the burst Williams gets a big play after the catch gets across Midfield and the 40 of Temple down at the 38 when he gets pushed out of bounds gain a 29 on what was probably a two or three yard pass shows off the burst Thompson it's another carry to Hughes he is wrapped up in the back field that ends up being a three yard loss Jaylen Lewis finally knocks him down now a four wide double stack set Thompson takes the a snap trying to set up the screen he gets hit before he can get it away though set up a third and 13 this has not been the cleanest of Starts Here 42 Lane at all offensively Thompson with the four wide set he takes the snap he's going to try to dump this one off to Williams but it gets dislodged by Jordan Montgomery and the green wer going to have to punt it away here got Carol out there to punt it away not a majorly deep punt Irving on the return doesn't get much on it though and Temple now starts at the 20 at their 21 yd line it's a two- running back set as we see Washington for the first time Smith sent in motion and it's just going to be a throw over the middle they send the running back in motion the linebacker bites on it trying to make a play there and it left a gaping ho Chris Rogers has been excellent he's got two pick sixes on this how those halfback swing plays does not work out in their favor that time they send Smith In Motion again as that was a throw down the field going to be knocked away there by Alt to Smith tried to take the shot to Tyrie Washington who went out wide there tle now comes out in two tight end pistol set this time it's going to be a carry to Smith who again gets a really nice bit of blocking takes that for for a first down we saw last week taine can struggle against the run it looks like that is what Temple is looking to do here and it is going to be a carry to Smith who gets a big hole brought down finally by ransaw that is another first down run Brock on an audible here says is running back in motion this time and he's able to get that one away kilgo goes for the pick and he should have went for the tackle and that is a first down kilo almost read that perfectly but it does not work out Temple now maneuvering around again Smith looks like he's a little winded in the back field see if they still hand it off to him and they do and it's a big hole again for Smith who is having a field day he is already over a 100 yds takes that one down to the one yd line just nobody nobody is making a play right now for two lane it's going to be an RPO and that is going to be a touchdown really easy score John A John Adam excuse me with the score for the owls and they are up early and your two-lane Green Wave have to officially be on upset alert right now they cannot stop Temple's Run game at all not getting any pressure on Brock which is kind of the big key you got to stop smithing you got to get pressure on Brock to Lane now desperately in need of a score as that would be a Touchback again you can't fall too far behind not in this weather tane has definitely got to get something going here Thompson takes the snap it's a screen out to I maner who gets really good blocking from Balman takes that for a first down his first touch of the day and it's an effective one now a four wide set here Hughes in the back field with Thompson it's going to be a carry to him and he gets good blocking on that carry takes that for a gain of close to 15 another first down two of them will back to back plays Thompson takes the snap sets up the screen gets it to Hughes Hughes able to use enough speed takes it for another first [Applause] down okay now for wide set again Thompson it's another hand off to Hu gets a decent gain on that a gain of four first play of the drive that did not end up going for a first down see what chain decides to do here they are staying in this four wide set Clayton Johnson in the back field for the first time in this one it's going to be a carry to Clayton Johnson who breaks the first tackle takes that for a first down run he finally seemed to get going last week it's been a really really slow start to the season for him you know now we're halfway through it the first half was not Clayton Johnson's hoping the second half is it's a car to Hughes Hughes able to show off the burst with the good block and takes out for another first down exactly the kind of drive that two lane was looking [Applause] for let's see if they can end up punching this one in it's a four wide set Thompson takes the snap gets it out to PR but it's not a great throw doesn't get great blocking there going to be second and goal from the six but that is the end of the first quarter with temple up 14 to nothing to Lane trying to get into the end zone here and cut that lead in half Smith has been just dominant so far Temple's offensive line is definitely playing extremely well now second and goal from the six two tight ends out there [Applause] Thompson sends Williams in motion and he is blown up in the back field that play was so well set up but it didn't matter as London Hall able to make the play here it's now a third and goal from the 10 backto back just bad plays for tane in this in this situation Thompson with a bunch set over to the right he takes the snap try to get this one I Manor who finds a way to get into the end zone a perfect throw from Thompson i maner showing off the physicality Gets In The End Zone giving Tulane a chance to cut this lead in half Thompson trusted his receiver through in a triangle of Defenders I Manor takes it in for a score second catch the day goes for a touchdown hman KCK is up up and it is good 14-7 now exactly the kind of drive that two lane needed definitely a struggle there at the end but looked really really good up into that point that will be taken for a Touchback now a four wide set excuse me a three wide set do have a tight end in the slot he's able to get that over to the tight end it's a gain of four Peter Clark technically the number two wide receiver or excuse me the number two tight end it is now a playaction pass again Brock is being surround and still gets the pass off and that's going to be a touchdown to Adams the two-lane defense went after Brock he breaks a sack makes a pass out to Adams who beats his man all the way across the field they sent pressure and he still had plenty of time just a shot play just two guys went out on routes Altis Smith makes a terrible decision there Adams scores with ease Temple offense looking Unstoppable early in this one kick is up and it is good 21-7 to Lane now has got to find a score again Lewis back on the return doesn't get much there takes it up to the 24 if you are Temple you are begging to find some way to keep things going on offense while also trying to make some plays Smith IR Manor excuse me makes the 5 yd reception there she Lane having to fight for every yard Bunch set over to the right still Thompson takes the snap sets up the screen to Hughes got some blocking in front of him takes that for a first down Thompson took a mean lick there in the backfield of course on the screen they stay with this Bunch set it's going to be a run to Hughes ain't a whole lot of blocking but it is a gain of four for him now this double stacked wide receiver look Hugh still out there it's going to be a carry to him and he's get a good rushing Lane there he's finally brought down by la poo it is another first down for the green waves now a four wide receiver set here Thompson takes the snap trying to set it up gets that over to P who is tackled down immediately just to gain a four they stay with the five wide Hughes is still in the back field a little gas but he still is going to get the carry breaks the first tackle ends up gaining another four there but it sets up a third down [Applause] Thompson now comes out in the empty set he takes the snap going try to get this over to Williams Williams makes sure he makes the catch that'll be a first down to extend the drive didn't really have a cornerback on him at all good decision there from Thompson this is now a hand off to Hughes Hughes has got really good blocking again takes that inside the 20 it's another first [Applause] down either one of these defenses particularly playing [Applause] well Thompson takes the snap we try to fade this one to I Manor who jumps up but he gets knocked away and then almost picked off good play out there by the corner believe that was Monday out there the defense and now come out with a four wide look here again Thompson calling an audible it's going to be a run to Hughes who gets pretty decent little bit of blocking there takes it for a gain of [Applause] seven excuse me a gain of three sets up a third and seven Thompson four wide he takes the snap to get this up to P who's barely going to get the first down but it keeps the drive going first and goal now from the seven just four minutes left here in this second quarter it's a car to Hughes he got good plock and he is wrapped up though thought he was going to break through there but scags grabs him first he is brought down bton Johnson now out there still a four wide receiver set Thompson takes it he hands it off to Clayton Johnson breaks through two arm tackle attempts there down to the two y line now I think right here with the way that Temple has been able to just drive it and score seemingly at will here this is probably four down territory Thompson takes a direct snap he gets tackled into the end zone and two lane is able to cut the lead again Thompson has been so so efficient in his time here in these short yardage quarterback runs able to make it a 21-13 game im's kick is up and it is good 21- 14 a 14pl drive took up 7 Minutes of the clock Temple starts off the second half with the ball this is a crucial crucial drive here here for this two-lane defense and Temple comes out in a two tight end set Rock takes it it's a carry to Smith this time he is wrapped up by kilgo and a host of others in the hole gain of two again it's the hurry up here roock takes it it's another hand off to Smith that time he gets rallied around finally brought down by lungs sets up a third and seven J Lane trying to get a defensive stop here Rock takes the snap trying to avoid some pressure just throws that one away in two lane finally gets a stop on defense as Alton is now out there to or Aton excuse me he's out there to punt it away does get it Lewis now back to return it but he's going to have to call the fair catch at the 27 yd line now for two lane trying to find a splash play here it's a two tight end set they send Mario Williams in motion Williams takes it he's able to get around the cornerback takes that for a first down he has got so much speed that will take us to the see if two lane and find some additional look here on the offense it's an empty set Thompson takes the snap going to try to throw that one down but it's knocked Away really good play there by the safety able to knock that one away let's see what two lane they come out in this five wide again Thompson takes the snap he's going to try to throw that one over the middle oh maner makes a really good catch a really nice throw there from Thompson they will hurry it up temple is playing a lot of guys in the Box Thompson takes the snap he's got his guy can he get it out there Preston catches it for a touchdown a huge throw from Thompson Preston able to beat his man off the line of scrimmage and Thompson takes advantage of it an absolute dime Chaz Preston the junior receiver Temple kept playing so many guys close to the line of scrimmage Preston beat his man and takes it in for a score julan has been fighting for their lives in this first half but Hyman's kick is through the uprights and we now have have a tie football game basically starting it over again 21 to 21 but Temple has a chance to score and then start the second half with the ball and toan's defense figure out a stop again here before halftime three wide receivers set Brock back to pass he's going to throw that one over and that is going to be a touchdown no is able to bring him down just a busted coverage they let Z Barnes get behind them with a huge play this is going to be a pass here again throws that in the back of the end zone and Adams another touchdown for the scar wide receiver who is having a career day here against the Green Wave two lanes defense has gotten one stop today other than that it has been all Temple touchdowns two plays 75 yards both offenses strike really quickly backto back green now back on the return gets slammed down right at the 20 you got to try to go score again I mean Temple is not showing any signs of slowing down and it is a five wide set here to start things off again for Thompson he takes the snap going to try to throw that one knocked Away really good play there by London Hall tried to fit that into the tight end was unable to do so and they stay with the five wide Thompson takes the snap he might get a shot to Mario Williams He overthrew the Speedy receiver he had the throw just did not make the play and they stay in this five wide Thompson takes the snap we try to throw this one to pressing a hellacious throw from Thompson two lane takes the timeout a huge third down conversion there [Applause] Thompson trying to make plays for wide set Hughes back in the back field Now Thompson takes the snap he's going to throw this one to a Manor caught through traffic they're going to hurry it up now Thompson snaps it he's going to try to Loof this one again to Mario Williams who beats this man for a touchdown Lewis who got the interception earlier in the day gets beat for the score Temple pressing too much in these situations they don't have the quarterbacks to go stride for stride with these wide receivers for two lane Ario Williams makes his first big strike of the day Tai Thompson and T Lane have been able to tie it up the offense has been on fire in this second quarter but Temple has just continued to make plays on offense themselves there's 26 seconds left is there any doubt in any of our minds with how this game is going that Temple and not put more points on the board it is a snap back drop back to pass Brock ends up throwing that one away finally forcing incompletion about all the incompletions he's had has been throwaways today Brock Smith still in the back field they drop back to throw it again he's going to throw this one out wide gets knocked Away by Lewis on a pass attempt over to Z Barnes now with two tight ends out there on this third and 10 Temple very likely I would imagine to run the football here and they do Smith gets good blocking able to work his way back inside takes that for a gain of eight and two lane just going to let the clock run out here it is a 20 T8 to oh they decide to actually punt it away Lewis as he tried to make a return with no time left it gets wrapped up quickly but it is 28 to 28 super exciting first half not a whole lot of Defense being played here at all see both teams have had success on the ground Temple has been outstanding on the ground have been slow down a little bit here but at least over their last couple of drives but that's almost strictly because they have found a ton of big plays in the passing game as well Forest Brock has put up his best game of the season probably already just in the first half as we see this was a huge touchdown to Adams he breaks the T the sack attemp of Quincy Wiggs bounds Adams down the sideline alter Smith goes for the diving attempt to knock it away but was not nearly in position there to make a play this Smith on the first touchdown the day making kilgo and Bryant Miss in the open field and unfortunately for two lane they have to start off on defense as Carol kicks it away and it is going to be returned he gets a really nice return there I believe that is more F dealing with a little bit of an injury there looks like but it's up at the 25 as a two tight end set for for temple to start off the second half Brock in the back field with Smith it's going to be a carry to Smith he gets a lot of really good blocking out there on the edge finally tackled down by Tillery but it is a gain of eight and now in the tight ends into the slot Smith gets another just outstanding set of blocking there finally gets run out of bounds but he's already well into to two-lane [Music] [Applause] territory I just I don't know what I don't know if T Lane can get stops here it's a run for Smith and he is going to break that one out that is going to be a score two lane is just had no answers defensively Joz Smith 189 yds on the ground already they just they they have nothing they have nothing for for temples offense it's another scoring drive with less than a minute off the clock let's see if tlane can find a way to keep the offensive fireworks [Applause] going this is not really I think at all what T Lane was expecting defensively they've been really really good on that side of the ball it's Hughes with a carry tackle down for just a gain of one is more makes another really good play there at the line of scrimmage now a bunch set over to the right Thompson again in the shotgun he's going to hand it off to Hughes Hughes is a little bit more block one there sets up a third and three to Lane decides to go five wide here Thompson takes the snap going try to just throw that one over the middle it gets knocked away fane's going to be forced to punt it away they have they they desperately have to get a stop on defense here I mean I they have to this is a must stop as Irving gets smack down there by Jaden [Applause] Lewis T Lane has to get a stop even know if Andrew budson Smith gets just outstanding blocking again takes that for a gain of four ransa really came up from the safety spot there to make a play he drops back to pass Brock dumps it out to his running back tackle down in the back field ransaw again on the tackle sets up a third and [Applause] three and it is a pass roock gets hit they finally get a lick on him Temple is going to have to punt it away so T Lane gets the stop they desperately needed there as Temple now HTS it away that one let's see if they going to get the friendly roll they do it goes into the end zone we'll start off at their own 20 and now come out in a two tight end pistol set Thompson with Hughes in the back field and it's a car to Hughes he's got really good blocking tries to cut that one back inside but Lewis the other 31 cornerback uh in this game is able to come off that and make a tackle now a two tight end set here Thompson calling an audible at the line he takes the snap going to get that to Balman who makes the catch takes it for a first [Applause] down and they stick with this two tight end set Thompson it's a hand off to L to Hughes excuse me just a gain of two there before he gets wrapped up now with three tight end set Hugh is in the backfield still with Thompson it's in Preston in motion Preston takes it not really any blocking there it's going to set up a third and eight there's just no no consistency on this offense right now just nothing Thompson takes the snap going to get this over really nice throw it's another huge third down completion they have thrown it really well on these third [Applause] downs but have got to they have to be better on first and second down you're not going to consistently convert these long plays here Hugh s in motion he try the swing pass out to him but he has run down excellent play by London Hall but it's still a gain of three been very very impressed with London Hall so far in this one is a three wide receiver set again Clayton Johnson is out there and Clayton Johnson's going to take the snap bounces it back breaks a tackle takes it for a gain of [Applause] six Hughes is now back out there a double stack wide receiver look Thompson takes the snap gets the screen out to iow man gets a good block again from Balman takes it for another third down conversion he has been just so good and so clutch for this passing game Thompson takes the snap it's a hand off to Hughes Hughes Maneuvers his way for a gain of five gets pretty good blocking there Clayton Johnson now out there with Thompson in the back field Thompson takes the snap and it's a carry to Clayton Johnson this time takes it for a first down now it's a four wide set Hughes back out there in the backfield Thompson takes the snap try to throw that one over to iron maner he makes a diving catch what this this has been this has been such a game so many just huge plays on both sides Thompson takes it they set up the screen to Hughes can he make a play takes it for a gain of four Thompson has been just so good in this game interception not withstanding of course Thompson takes the snap Thompson's going to scramble out he's going to walk tackle Clayton Johnson is officially back ladies and gentlemen it has been again a really really slow start to the season for him but in this game and in the last one he has shown an ability to break tackles again Clayton Johnson gets the carry able to fall forward for a gain of four now this Bunch set again Thompson takes the snap he's just going to dump this over to a maner I maner easily takes that for a first down down as we still have Clayton Johnson out there she's is getting an extended breather here it's going to be another carry to Clayton Johnson who gets outstanding blocking and Clayton Johnson just making Defenders Miss in the open field before London Hall again makes a play offs with the bunch said he takes the snap he's going to get this over to Mario Williams Williams trying to take this one Zs it back outside gets a little bit of a block that's a gain of Nine the star players have made Star plays for both of these offenses Clayton Johnson still out there Clayton Johnson gets another carry continues to fall for he's up to the 15 a lot of this clock has been run out now as we now will see Hughes again it's a four wide [Applause] set takes it as a nice carry again for Hughes gets a good blocking takes that but just for a gain of three though Hughes is now dealing really with some injuries [Music] himself as we will see Arnold Barnes out there now four tane still has to run out good big of this clock it would take a first down to put this game completely away it's a carry to Barnes and Barnes is going to get the first down and that will should do it there yep TimeWise that will definitely do [Applause] it and two lanane is going to Come Away with a victory here 42-35 what a game down 14 to nothing after the first quarter a 28 point second quarter helps in the game to halftime tied at 28 it took a last fourth quarter touchdown from Clayton Johnson to finally give them the lead with less than three and a half minutes left and two lanes defense gets the stops that they desperately need two big stops there in the fourth quarter and two lane has found a way to get the victory I just try to find a uh try to find a thumbnail right quick I think I definitely want to use this something man what a game golly they gave me all I wanted I'll be honest with you both offenses were really good they ran the ball extremely well they averaged 12.1 yards of Rush probably got a little bit too pass half happy for them in the second half we were just outstanding on third Downs I mean we were 10 for 13 we held them to three of eight it got to a point where if they were not scoring quickly like I felt a lot better about us being able to get stops on them and just we just that was the difference was third down I mean they could just barely get us off the field we had 34 minutes time possession they had it less than 10 that is such a huge difference especially this being a one- score game that's astounding Ty Thompson again your player of the game 31 of 39 364 yards three passing touchdowns and interception had two scores on the ground Hughes 21 carries 100 yards really gritty performance from him Clayton Johnson 11 for 66 in a score and Barnes three carries for 26 and the game clinching first down receiving wise I Manor 8 for 95 in the score Williams 6 for 102 in the score Preston 6 for 106 in the score the big three really had their day Hughes 5 for 26 PR three for 13 ballman three for 22 no sacks allowed just a really really good day from our offensive line had some gaps in the Run game but did a really good job blocking uh in the past game in particular Lewis and Rogers each lead the way with six tackles kilgo with five him and green got a abused on that one touchdown run from Smith man uh was not the best day from kilgo for sure a lot of that obviously being my user skills uh been a while since I played and it definitely showed ransa had a couple of really nice tackles um on third down for us tackles for loss had Wiggins luns and maai Williams with three three or excuse me with one a piece for three total and Wiggins and lunge get a half sack between them and it was bring green with the biggest play of the day you know uh Brock tried to just make a throw that he had no business making on a first down and we made them pay for that and uh yeah Brock 15 of 29 accuracy you know he had a couple of drops for sure I thought he was really solid made plenty of big plays uh can he can break sacks in the back field for for sure um was very impressed with him despite the completion percentage 253 yards three tutes and a pick um yeah I mean the stats show that they were going to give the ball to Smith and that's what they did 15 carries 202 yards two touchdowns we got to find a way to stop the run I mean that he was he was at over 100 yard I mean he he he averaged like 100 yards per seven carries I mean he had I think it was 102 yards maybe 103 yards through his first seven touches and then obviously eight carries later was over 100 yards again yeah he had he was a monster John Adams five catches 102 yards found the endzone three times uh Baines here had a couple of uh you know had a huge 71 yd catch did have three drops um yeah that that really hurt them couple of those being on um on third down sorry I can't I think I was calling him Barnes throughout the game I haven't wrote down in my notes wrong um yeah uh those third those drops really hurt them I mean four total you know on them killed them block and wise I thought they did a really good job in the Run blocking Department did a really good job protecting him we didn't get a lot of pressure on him he probably had two or three plays that he had to break out of sacks and only got sacked one time defensively Le poo 18 tackles Bon nine was really really impressed with London Hall seemed like he was all over the field like I would have figured he was the one with 18 tackles to be completely honest with you uh I thought Lewis had a really good day of course Benson gets the interception early um tackles for losses had several guys here with one a piece no sacks for them and again Benson got the interception early I believe it was on our first drive um yeah first drive uh so yeah really good day from him really overall but yeah I mean we we just they could not get us off the field on third Downs whenever we could get them to third downs we had pretty decent success there uh yeah came away with a really really clutch win I'm sure I gapped up some of the names during the live commentary there uh so if you notice it I apologize but yeah let's Advance wow what a game we are now to week nine of the year two what a game that was we get a commitment from three star running back Cordell ferty fourstar Amari muhamad fourstar right in Darren Bernett we'll take a look at them right quick did lose out on Doug Luna that was a little shocking but you know going to win some and lose some here for sure definitely got some guys look like they might try to transfer we stick at number three we'll take a look at the commits we just got so obviously brownie is a headliner in this class pretty much a day one player if L if Hughes decides to go to the NFL draft he will be a brownie will be a day one starter Fender two those a three star Jim um he's a PowerBack 62 234 definitely felt like I needed to uh replace Clayton Johnson you know from that side you know just the ability to have a guy that can you know pound it between the tackles um you know he huge for sure uh but yeah so really good player here good strength good speed good carrying I think he's going to be a really good fit for us wide receiver obviously Trey Bueno with the uh the 99 speed is the headliner here but Mohammad while he's a bus you know he a fourstar bus and is a solid player uh not overly fast but he got really good size 6429 uh good spec catch he has good release good catch and traffic I think he's going to be a player that plays pretty early for us then we had a defensive in here Darren Bernett fourstar bus from Louisiana uh good hit power not the the best athlete uh but really good block sitting there at 82 83 strength uh good run stopper and we needed some bodies there so we'll take a look at the top 25 we'll take a look at the stats and then we'll uh we'll hop out of here as uh cfp top 25 we stuck at three there yeah let's take a look at the uh scores around the country for week nine had NC State with a really big win over a very good Virginia Tech Team 21-10 Oklahoma State Over Texas Tech Penn State still at number one over Indiana Pittsburgh Over Louisville Iowa State over Kansas Boston College with a nice impressive uh close win there over Clemson Kansas State over U Monroe North Carolina over Duke Duke still not won a game after only winning one in year One Michigan over Purdue there's our game Boise State over Air Force in a really good matchup LSU over Old Miss who just has one win on the season Ohio State over ruter Alabama over Oklahoma in a really big matchup Missouri over South Carolina in an upset UTSA continued to be a really good team they beat us in the conference Championship in year one over Army Florida state with a really tight win there in a rivalry Game Over Miami Colorado uh with a big upset there over Utah 31-23 on the road and Tennessee Over Georgia 30 to 27 in a matchup of two top five teams man that was a looked like it was a great game uh we'll take a look at the stats Ty Thompson 17 touchdowns 11 picks I've thrown way too many interceptions with him but he's been outstanding um really and truly nothing is really been his fault five touchdowns on the ground Hughes continues to do his thing Clayton Johnson is definitely getting going here over the uh the past couple of weeks like you know last three weeks in particular he's been real solid after a really slow start to the season for him not that he was getting a lot of work but he was he was very good in year one uh I Manor and Williams continue to be forces in the passing game Preston's biggest game of the season he came up huge there against Temple Hughes has been really good out of the back field we didn't allow any sacks kilgo leading the way in tackles as a true freshman doing pretty much exactly what I wanted him to do ransaw green Chris Rogers jayen Lewis Quincy Wiggins just Monster we'll just kind of scroll down here tackle for lost leader is Quincy Wiggins with 15 of them M lung is closing in on double digits he has nine have Mai Williams and Cameron Hamilton with seven and kilgo rans artillery with three saaks forign away Wiggins Hamilton is second at four and a half and then lungs with three fobs white with one and then a half sack for Adonis fro interceptions Chris Rogers still
