Harry and Meghan Episode 1 Recap: 5 Lies They Told On Netflix

intro foreign and welcome back to exposing SMG I just finished watching the first episode of Harry and Megan their own reality TV show or documentary as they like to call it and it's interesting the first half of this video will be the recap of the first episode and the second half will be Their Lives Exposed I have video chapters assigned if you want to skim through them as always like And episode aims to show you how Megan and Harry Met which is funny since they lie about that here but I'll get to that later they also spent a lot of time talking about the late Princess Diana and the majority of this episode is Harry talking and almost saying what Megan wants him to say instead of having her speak for herself he explains how she was feeling why she did what she did almost as if he was trying to justify her argument and give her credibility since she doesn't have any one thing the episode shows me a lot about is the dynamic of their relationship and if anything it makes me sympathize with Harry because it's clear that he is a man that hasn't healed from his trauma and sadly it's kind of obvious that Megan has utilized that trauma against him it's clear as day her wording her technique in the relationship it's like she took a master class on how to manipulate someone one-on-one let me know if you guys would be interested in a video on the psychology of Meghan Markle now this episode opens up with a disclaimer that every interview was finalized by August 2022 why they don't want this to backfire on them considering the queen passed away in September and Megan was seen crying at Her Majesty's funeral so it would be quite shameful if they were recording for their reality TV show while supposedly mourning the Monarch do I believe that no I think they revise the show following the Queen's passing and it's not like they care since the first three episodes dropped three months after her death they then show us a video from March 2020 of Harry at the London Airport talking about how no one knows the side of the story and how they just finished Royal stints for the last time ever it then cuts to Megan and Canada while Harry was still in London saying I don't even know where to begin and then she starts crying isn't it funny how they were taking footage in real time it's almost as if they planned to release this footage in a strategic way they claimed they wanted privacy at the time and yet here they are recording themselves and their feelings in real time to dispute this argument they know that was going to come up they said that apparently a friend their publicist told them that they should record these video diaries to understand what they're going through liar really most people go to therapy not record video diaries do you guys record video diaries when you're going through something I mean I know vloggers do because they know that they need to utilize the footage later on and it seems like the same thing is happening here Megan then says by not standing for something they're destroying us assumingly talking about the royal family I don't know what she wanted the family to do it's not their fault that she's not likable and her own past demons were exposing her to the media look at what happened to King Charles when the affair got exposed back in the day he was dragged and is still dragged to this day they can't censor everyone they just do their Royal Duty and get on with their lives this isn't some Lifetime movie Harry and Megan are then shown footage from a 2015 Megan interview where she's asked Prince William or Prince Harry and she says I don't know and here they're trying to dispute the story that Megan plotted and planned to get Harry the whole episode was a big PR Band-Aid pretending Megan didn't know who they were even though she wrote about having princess dreams on her Blog the tig and a childhood friend exposing her fascination with Diana and she was well aware of who Kate Middleton is but I think at this point she's still trying to fool Harry who's still buying her act because he says again it just shows how little you knew how little you knew how little you knew how little you knew sure this part seemed so scripted I had to hold back the cringe is Harry trying to convince us or himself that she didn't play him foreign he then says this is a great love story if you have to say something is a great love story maybe it's not that great after all usually people who describe others say that but if you're describing yourself it kind of defeats the purpose buddy I feel for Harry throughout the episode because it seems like he's a victim of Stockholm syndrome you know when you sympathize with your kidnapper the episode shows you the power levels in the dynamic and Megan as always is in control she even has him believing that she sacrificed everything to be with him sure Jan he literally says that Harry she didn't have much going on for her she was on a cable TV show with no other future plans but the documentary tries to make it seem like she had this whole career she did not and when she met him she was completely free to travel all the way to the UK to see him while he was stuck with royal duties she was also trying to make new connections to see what was next for her after suits and ruining a poor traumatized man's life was at the top of her list Megan claims that she made this documentary because no one has any sense of who you are newsflash if you have to keep proving who you are instead of letting your actions do it then that says a lot the episode does a lot of trying to paint Megan as this normal humble mom who just wants to feed chickens and pick out roses from her garden they tell a story about how Harry was late to their first date and Megan thought that he was one of those Eagle filled guys and honestly the whole thing seemed super scripted they also lie about how they met but I'll get into that later on in the video Megan says that they were childlike together and that was a big red flag for me because that's another seduction trick that she used on him as someone who feels like his childhood was ripped away from him because of the media and the trauma of his mother's death it's like Megan capitalized on that by portraying herself as this childlike adult that's here to take his pain away foreign collecting evidence throughout the episode we see that Megan is the one taking the pictures on the first date during the romantic getaway in Botswana screenshotting them on FaceTime and so on she's the one always recording him collecting footage and building her story shading william & kate? at some point in the episode it seems like Harry tries to shade his older brother Prince William and Catherine Middleton by saying that he didn't want to marry someone who fits the molds of the royal expectation and he wanted to make decisions with his heart not his head does anyone else feel like he's so slimy to throw William under the bus you know William is also Diana's son he didn't choose to be the firstborn he's doing the best he can he's the older sibling with the responsibility and he shouldn't be dragged for taking on that responsibility and understanding his duty to the public it's quite spoiled and privileged on Harry's part they say that they were giving the advice assumingly by the royal family don't react don't feed into it which is pretty good advice and I'm sure if they listened they would have had a better turnout instead we see how much they fed into it and how much content they have given everyone especially the media I can make like 30 videos on them alone thanks to them providing the content they also use a lot of footage of the royal family specifically the late Queen's coronation so essentially they are using the royal family Harry then talks about how every Royal building has press offices to make sure there is good publicity about the royal family and he didn't seem to mind when the good publicity was benefiting him and erasing his scandals from the media he also tries to explain the Press buildings of the royal family as if it's not the same thing for all celebrities and public figures childhood paparazzi, yes... not now tho! they then focus a big part of the episode on Harry growing up in the media and how hard it was for him at the paparazzi they show a lot of footage of when he was younger especially when he was on vacation with his mother and Diana had to confront the paparazzi to leave them alone I sympathize with him and how hard it is to deal with growing up in the public eye but you have to understand that it's the price you pay and it comes with the privilege of being a literal Prince we see him complain about that now but he does everything opposite of leading a private life you can't be so privileged to the point where you choose when you want the attention and when you don't it doesn't work that way I understand that it was hard growing up as a kid but he has no excuse as an adult now if anything this just shows me how traumatized young Harry was and how much leverage he gave Megan to Aiden his paranoia to burden him with the he promised he would keep a safe line that she kept feeding him throughout the episode blindly manipulating someone like this and making it seem like your life is on the line when you're the one calling the paparazzi and doing everything you can to get attention it's cruel Harry emphasizes throughout the episode that he can't believe he found someone who would accept him for his baggage [Music] you really can't believe that there are thirsty American actresses in the world that would do anything to benefit from your life and Fortune really like she really has him in a trance and has him completely whipped and vulnerable it's not like he's some hobo on the street he also said that he's terrified that the media would draw Megan away from him meanwhile Megan is who's planting stories in the press and giving the media something to talk about maybe Harry needs to watch my videos they talk about their Botswana trip where finding Freedom writes that they stayed in luxury tents and Megan made it seem like it was 20 Walmart tents that they stayed in with the way she was talking about it and Harry says that he was astonished when Megan agreed to come on the trip with him again as if he isn't a literal Prince from a family that's worth 28 billion dollars he said this woman who I'm only met twice she's coming red flag but who are you going to preach to they reveal something interesting and that was Megan had this two-week rule where they had to see each other and when he got busy and couldn't come which he told her she said that it was easier for her to fly to the UK and be under the radar for him now I find this interesting because it's like she tracked him in the beginning by making it seem like she was busy and had to leave their day after an hour but when he was already smitten that's when she got all this freedom to fly all over the world for him and when he would bring her on Palace grounds in 2016 guess what she was recording him and taking pictures the entire time she has been making this collection which is funny because didn't they also claim that Harry hates cameras and the sound of a camera gives him PTSD but I guess it's fine when Megan has a camera in his face 24 7. less than 30 minutes in the documentary Harry talks about how similar Megan is to Diana her empathy compassion confidence and warmth again it reveals the tactics that Megan used to Blind him with her love Diana was not a private character she was a big name in the world and there's easy access to her in terms of knowing who she is and what she believed it's not hard to cosplay as her and that's what Megan did her childhood friends exposed Megan as being fascinated with Diana and Harry has a lot of mommy issues issues that Megan capitalized on it's sick [Music] foreign showing Archie a photo of Diana and basically a bunch of footage of the kids and I find it interesting that she's giving the footage during a Netflix stock because she claims she didn't want to exploit her kids right then why are you exploiting them now most celebrities that don't want to exploit their kids still block out their faces on social media till this day and yet Megan continues proving how she likes things being done on her terms they focus a lot on how bad the media was to Harry when he was growing up following him around swarming him he even got into a bunch of fights with them and it's hard what I didn't like in this episode was how they tried to use the hardships that Diana Harry and Catherine went through with being swarmed by the paparazzi and they tried to paint that as something that is happening today and as something that happened to Megan and Harry it's not that was a different world there is no sort of Paparazzi frenzy like that anymore not even in Hollywood I've talked a lot about Britney Spears and what happened to her because of the media and again that doesn't happen anymore the late 90s early 2000 frenzy doesn't occur and he sure as hell didn't occur to Megan and Harry as we've seen with their lack of Paparazzi footage so yes the past was hard but the past is not your present and it was not the case for Megan and Harry [Music] the end of the episode talking about how the royal family doesn't actually have any freedom of religion job and blah blah blah blah blah which Honestly made me respect them more because it's true they are tied to this strict lifestyle that comes with being public servants and they understand that it's not like Catherine married William and then started acting funny when there were certain expectations of her something Megan is doing Megan then says that she was petrified of what would happen when the news would break yet she was the one calling the paparazzi it's ridiculous so that's the recap let's get into the lies here are five flies they said in episode one fives lies they told on Netflix why number one lying about the relationship with the media and books Harry talks about exploitation and bribery in the media it's a big focus of the documentary Megan also says this one-liner that she really had the confidence to say there were books written by people that didn't know us now why is this a lie well for starters they have both been exposed in court for their cooperation and even planning of finding Freedom the pr book they had written and released on their behalf Jason noff who was The Trusted staffer of Megan and Harry and worked as their Chief Communications secretary said that he emailed Harry because Harry was supposed to meet with the authors of finding freedom to help with factual accuracy and context Harry then replied to the email and said I totally agree that we have to be able to say we didn't have anything to do with it finding Freedom equally you giving the right context and background to help them would get some truths out there the truth is very much needed and would be appreciated especially around the Markle wedding stuff but at the same time we can't put them directly in touch with her friends Jason North also said that he attended a two-hour meeting with omit scoby and Carolyn Durand the authors behind the book for which Megan provided briefing points she wanted to share with the authors which included detail on how the Tiara for the wedding had been selected and it had been misrepresented by the media Megan and Harry stated multiple times they had nothing to do with the book is that an example of exploitative behavior and bribery in terms of Paparazzi following them I already exposed that in my video about the trailer so go check it out line number two Megan was single when she met Harry they try to hit back at the rumors that Megan cheated on her ex Corey vitello her rumored fiance with Harry and Megan claims that she had been single for a couple of months and she kept emphasizing being free so if you were single for months why were you still living with Corey the truth is when things kicked off with Harry that's when Megan broke up with Corey Tom Bauer investigated the relationship in his book and he says two weeks after Harry secretly flew to Toronto he stayed for about one week in a house of a friend of Megan's probably Jessica Mulroney as Corey still sharing her home the situation for Megan was tricky but manageable at the end of the week after he returned to London Megan was convinced that her spell was cast and the relationship with Harry would be sealed she told Corey that their Affair was over unaware of the circumstances he was relieved Tom then writes Corey moved in mid-july into an apartment with Richard Lambert now there's also a theory that Megan and Harry were dating sometime in March 2016 because they were seen wearing matching bracelets that Megan leaked to the Press since Harry was seen wearing it in March 2016 and she was instagramming pictures with the same bracelet unless Megan bought the same bracelet to start up the rumors which is even weirder on her part now if it's true that they were together in March 2016 that's interesting because Corey posted an Instagram post in April 2016 showing a picture Megan's dog Guy captioned saying morning ritual of stretching out on my lady I do it too when a source close to Corey's Camp was asked if Megan's breakup with Corey had to do with Harry The Source said I can't comment on that what do you guys think lie number three how they met as we all know and as what was exposed in court Megan and Harry gave the information to the authors behind finding Freedom this is a fact in finding Freedom it was written that they were set up on a blind date as Soho House's Dean Street townhouse and a source and hey Megan described the pair as being in their own little world apparently that first meeting lasted around three hours now in the episode Megan tells this long story of Harry seeing her on a Snapchat video where she was posing with a dog filter because she's just a quirky Megs and there was an exchange of emails of him wanting to meet her then they say that they met on Instagram and Megan who doesn't care about status went through his private feed on Instagram of his pictures of elephants in Africa and that told her all she needs to know about him is anyone buying this ball this was also done to dispute the claims that Megan and her extreme willpower did not in fact Google Harry I just want to know does Harry believe that lie so they switched up their story from meeting through a blind date to meeting on Instagram the book says they met for drinks on the first day and so does the episode however they told the authors the drinks lasted three hours but said in the episode that the date only lasted one hour with Megan needing to leave so soon after a little detail yes but pretty significant why does their story keep changing lie number four happy childhood not happy childhood on Oprah Harry made it seem like he had a horrible childhood and that he wanted Archie to ride a bike with him because it's something he never got a chance to do with his own father he basically paints this very disturbing image of his childhood and yet in this episode he says that his childhood was full of Happiness laughter and adventure and he even used his footage of Charles when they were all younger during a photo shoot to paint Charles in a nice light so why switching up now lie number five media lies in December 2016 Megan stepped out in Toronto wearing an h m necklace the paparazzi who took the picture said that the photo was staged who was in on it and Megan even posed for him we talked about that in my last video in fighting Freedom it was written that she was advised that wearing such a necklace only served to encourage the photographers to keep pursuing such images and new headlines she didn't like that they wrote that she felt frustrated and emotional after hanging up and the conversation was too much about not wanting to wear her boyfriend's jewelry and smiling at the photographers she claimed that she can't win but honestly I feel like everyone else around her can't win they tell her what to do not to get media attention she doesn't like it she gets media attention she complains about privacy what a nightmare now I included this part of the lies portion because they spent a lot of time talking about how private 2016 was for them and how scared Megan was of making the relationship public but the only thing that's scary was how easily Megan can lie when there's so much evidence against her anyway this wraps up episode one if you guys enjoyed this video let me
