hey everybody how's how's everybody doing happy is it Monday I've lost track I went to the dentist today and uh they filled me filled with I got filled with happy gas I'm I'm a really happy person and that was nine o'clock in the morning we're going to get to our thing in a morning in a second we've got a little film clip to show you about the history of The Guess Who and How interestingly Burton Cummings is such a big part of that history there's a statement that came out from Burton today um Mark Lindsay of the of uh the apul rever and the Raiders came out there's a few writers that came forward and said their pieces when it came to this whole hubaba that's happening with Briton Cummings telling the current version of The Guess Who which features Gary Peterson not many times because Gary even told me when I talked to him a few months ago that he has uh a few fill-ins for him I'm not sure how healthy there he is not my business but he's he's getting up there in age and and it's hard for I mean this is like Foreigner this is like so many other bands that are going out and saying they's something and they're not and that's a sad thing I mean the whole the whole point of this video really should be how do we name bands so that when you go see a band like Trooper when you go see Trooper a Canadian band for instance because the guests who are Winnipeg Canadian band should there be a a grading system of some type where you know what you're seeing hey if you want to go see Foreigner and I hear forigner puts on a great show I hear they put on a really good show if you want to go see them that's fine but you're not seeing Foreigner none of the guys on stage created a hit right and uh that goes for a lot of different bands when you go to see them little riverband one guy created a hit all the other guys are American and there isn't even a a um an Australian in the little riverband anymore so that's kind of a what the hell so when you go to see The Guess Who and are you seeing the guess who you're seeing the guy who played drums on a lot of those hits if he shows up Gary Peterson and Gary don't get me wrong Gary was on the show nice guy you know I don't know what his business practices are Jim kale and the always this thing that Jim kale owns the name the former basis of The Guess Who and uh and or Gary Peterson either one of them depending upon the story you you see it seems to be Jim kale but and Gary probably Rents It Off them or something I don't know the ins and outs we don't really know but the bottom line is the the band you're seeing Derek sharp was on here their lead singer you know Derek was uh a guest on the show along with Gary Peterson we talked about the fact I said why don't you guys perform in Canada well we can't perform in Canada they perform Falls fall is that iffy kind of place where Canadian bands who are not the real thing can perform it seems uh we're going to get a few more people on here when we reach a 100 we're going to put we put together last night this beautiful little vignette on the Guess Who on the history of The Guess Who it's not very long but it basically insinuates one thing which is the truth we didn't we didn't push the truth on this that Burton Cummings basically was the guy in this band up until 19 70 uh you know Randy Bachman was as well uh Robert Leo John I'm in total agreement with with this Alan Murphy greetings from the UK hey I've got my little iPad here um Robert Le Point oh hold on uh mcra yal sticks is a great band that should be looking at this precedent Dennis D young is no fan of the touring version of the band but you know the thing is they do have with sticks they have Tommy Shaw um and they have uh James Young Tommy came in later I know but Alan Murphy today's comments from the bass player was funny well I'm gonna get you uh let's okay we got a few more people let me get to what the Burton what was written on the Burton Cummings camp today it said um before we get back to regularly scheduled programming so to speak we'd like to share that one of the current new members of the band I guess who came up what he thinks is a nickname for Burton he calls him burpin cuum stain I always say you know things like that aren't necessary it's it's juvenile yep that is what they are calling an icon in the music industry because he isn't letting them use the songs after they basically borrowed them for $4 5 years and in that time they were not able to come up with one single hit song on their own and if you see the hash FBC from their followers will let you know what that stands for blank Burton Cummings yep can't count the number of times growing adults have come up over the page um yeah posting that as well as in reply to questions asking about false advertising issues the current version of the band starting years after the guest who folded in 75 as per the agreement signed by the members with Sony music and that did not include Jim kale as he was kicked out of the band in 72 uses the accolades below of the original lineup to promote their show they are not the band that enjoyed success of their of of their own there you go and the accolades reads the Guess Who was a legendary Canadian band with the Legacy that incl includes chart topping hits in the late 60s and 70s with the impressive catalog of songs including American women these eyes no time during of course its career the band had released 11 Studio albums and charted 14 top 40 hits um top 40 hit singles two of them went to number one in the United States and the guest who is best known internationally for uh its 1970 uh American women's song so we ah we got 117 let let me um we're going to do a little intro and then we're going to play you a little clip about the Guess [Music] Who the story of the guu goes way back to 1958 when Chad Allen started a band in Winnipeg called Al and the Silvertones but it took a few years for the band to stabilize by 1962 they were named Chad Allen and the reflections the initial lineup included Chad Allen on vocals rhythm guitar Randy bman lead guitar Jim kale on bass Bob Ashley on keys and Gary Peterson the drummer by 1965 they had changed their names again to Chad Allen in the Expressions due to a conflict with another group called The Reflections and as the band was taking off Bob Ashley the keyboardist left bringing in Briton Cummings on keys and then serving a much bigger role on lead vocals it didn't take long for Chad Allen to leave he had vocal problems but his plan was to go back to college interestingly he also became a host on CBC TV his show was called let's go and coincidentally the house band were the Guess Who it's important to note that Chad Allen died at 80 on November 21st 2023 after leaving the Guess Who he got together with another band member that left the Guess Who Brandy bman forming Brave belt in 1971 but again like the Guess Who Fred Turner was brought into Brave belt and Allen's vocals were really cut down now getting back back to the Guess Who their Canadian label quality records decided to do a little publicity stunt with their singles shaken all over which by the way was the band's first major hit reaching number one in Canada and number 22 in the US and 27 in Australia they named the band Guess Who question mark the record label was trying to generate speculation that it might be a more famous band from the British Invasion nevertheless the name the Guess Who stuck the first breakthrough album was Wheatfield Soul featuring the hit single These Eyes the song became their first top 10 hit in the US reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 then came a string of other hits laughing undone no time their 1970 album American woman featured the iconic title song it was a huge song and a big album reaching number nine on Billboard's 200 albums chart but you know what they say a little success is hard on a band tensions between bman and cummings had Randy bman as mentioned earlier leave the band in 1970 of course he went on to form as we mentioned Brave belt and bman Turner overdrive who became huge some of the other big hits from the 70s from The Guess Who share the land in 1970 hang on to your life the following year along with Albert flasher rain dance and sour sweet he had three hits in 1972 life in a bloodstream heartbroken bopper and running back to Saskatoon which is usually the song Britain cumings starts his concerts with 1973 brought Orly and glamour boy to the top 40 the following year star baby and clap for The Wolf Man and in 75 Dancing Fool and loves me like a brother these were all with Burton Cummings after many personnel changes by 75 Burton Cummings left the group to go solo and that certainly worked out for Burton Cummings with hits like stand tall and I'm scared from the debut album Timeless love your backyard and the title song to the second album from 77 my own way to rock got lots of AirPlay all over the world Burton Cummings biggest Al album was his third dream of a child three times Platinum featuring the title song Break it to them gently I will play a rapity and mean in so much and the hits kept on coming like in 1981 you saved my soul mother keep your daughters in the following year Something Old Something New in 1990 he had take one away and the tune free which reached the top 10 there had been many reunions with the guesss who Through The Years some with Randy bman some with Briton Cummings and some with both but one thing's for certain the the guests Who Remain one of the most popular Canadian bands of all time hope you enjoyed that little Burton Cummings thought I'd include the the solo albums because they were so big I remember being very excited uh I was a big fan of the last two Dominic Triano Briton Cummings Guess Who albums I love them I thought they were really good I was listening to them today there's a writer Andrew uner who got on here and talked he says while no one expects a classic rock act to have fully intact lineup 50 or 60 years later which is true let's point that out in general I think audiences have a right to expect the lineup on stage as a significant connection to the creative force of the band in their Prime this varies by situation but I didn't feel ripped off when I saw the Rolling Stones for instance with the lineup of MC Jagger Keith Richards Ronnie Wood Charlie Watts or when I saw the zombies with Rod arjent and Colin blunstone who have been on this show both of them or the with Roger dalry and Pete Townsen unlike the afor mentioned CCR situation because he said he used to see CCR with um with uh without John uh Fogerty however the current Guess Who lineup is by far removed from the band who wrote and performed the hits that is really stretching the boundaries of Artistic integrity I'm not denying that they have the legal right for the name nor am I denying that there are countless other bands out there with less than ideal lineups yes there are classic rock bands with similar lineups but the current guess who is among the most egregious with only drummer Gary Peterson sometimes performing yeah but you know let's not forget Gary doesn't perform uh hardly ever it's According to some people I don't know he even told me he has two other drummers who come in and fill in for him so that's kind of a sad thing there's got to be you know the old there got to be a better way well there must if there was a grading system it's hard for me to say this like if there was a great in but but do people care I remember being and I've said this many time on this channel I was outside Elton John's my favorite artist of all time I remember I was working for uh 14c Fund in Vancouver I just retired from Bell Media after uh uh 30 years 14 C fund I was working with and I was working for chq and QMFM I was on the station at the same time on both stations uh anyway they told me hey Elton John's performing I think it was a solo piano show would you go out with the van and the microphone and interview people after the show and I said sure I'm looking forward to seeing Elton again and they said well no no you don't no no we don't have tickets for you I'm going what we're the biggest station in town you don't have tickets for me so they didn't have tickets for so here I am in the van waiting for the show to end and I got my little microphone little dj guy okay what your favorite parts of the show and and they uh I remember most people said things like oh uh goodbye olber Road Daniel your song but it was the same 10 songs from a lot of people that came out of the the uh Northland not Northland Pacific Coliseum that's where it was and I remember going I had the same experience with Roy Orbison years ago when I first got into radio pretty woman's my favorite song Pretty Woman oh yeah pretty woman I'm going oh okay sure and the general audience my point being is sometimes they don't know Joe lunch bucket and Evelyn everybody sometimes don't know not everyone got an album in the 70s and read the liner notes in the back not everyone did I did I mean I became a DJ for 41 years of course I did most DJs did that most real music fans did that you don't have to be a DJ if you're interested in those people you don't have to there's nothing wrong with not wanting to read the liner notes but at the same time time the people who don't who just want a good show and sometimes these are good shows if they think they're seeing the Guess Who they're not seeing the yes who so there you go and I mean I I'm opposed to I'm always opposed to uh and I'm going to read you the mark Lindsay stuff in a second here Mark Lindsay was the lead singer of Paul River and the Raiders and wrote a lot of their songs not all of them a lot of the big ones like kicks he didn't write um but there's like a list of a good thing um my son my moon Lou go home uh stepping out Blue Fox the FDF Blues Shake It Up There She Goes the great airplane strike I mean he co-wrote a lot of those songs with Paul River who who uh whose real name was what was it Paul dick Riv that was his real name because of course he wasn't really Paul Riv so Mark Lindsay wrote something which is I find interesting in support of of um creating something as he puts it a widget and uh you have to put yourself in that situation there's that thing where you you know with Briton Cummings are going he set pressing it by letting them do it yeah but it's your toy and you can say no at any time and as much as Mark Lindsay makes this argument I agree with what Mark Lindsay says Burton has even a stronger argument because Burton co- wrote so many of those songs or wrote those songs right and sang those songs and was a creative force in the Guess Who Mark Lindsay um let me just put up hold on do I have it here let me see if I have it nope hold on that's my other camera view let me see if I have it that's Paul Riv that's Mark Lindsay there you go 50 or so years ago we were blessed with the talent or luck to create some of the really groovy widgets you sold a lot of them toured the country promoting them and took a lot of pride in your toys you became known for being the person who created them over the years you acquired some or all of the rights to some familiar widgets that you'd had a part in inventing and you had a great collection of widgets that you were proud of they were your legacy and a reflection of your work's life your life's work you were the witchet guy then you notice that some other guy was using a lot of your widgets he was certainly able to buy them for personal use or pay a royalty to license them out for use but they remained your widgets but then you notice he was promoting some of his personal appearances by advertising with your widgets uh he didn't ask you to require the licensing fee in fact he was using old promotional audio videos of your demonstrations of your widgets which contains your voice and your pictures in conjuncture with your widgets so he said something here hold [Music] um I'm extremely Disturbed to see the sheer vitriol being hurled in the social media at Burton he's egotistical he's mean he's wor no actually he's the widget guy with the right to control not just his widgets but also his Persona as the widget guy wow I agree with the fact that if he doesn't want I mean he's worned them before and I think there's something that happens as you get older I'll read your comments in a second I think there's something that happens as you get older you start going well wait a minute you know this is this is my stuff you either sell your rights away which I'm sure Burton will one of these days I don't know I used to go from don't want there to be a world without a Nazareth because I love Nazareth but then I started realizing well Pete agnu is the only guy left and I've interviewed Pete what two three times on this channel and I've asked him do do you still consider it Nazareth because uh uh Steve priest is dead Pete Manny charlton's dead um um U Dan McCaffrey is dead the lead singer and there's a part of me that goes well it's not I mean a they're even harder than Nazareth used to be as far as sound I'm just trying to uh pull up your uh so is it why can't you name it something else remember um Deep Purple Deep Purple would have mark one mark two Mark three but that's for the real fans I think that in deep purpl here we go in deep purple's case I think they knew what that meant and what mark one Mark I met okay let me just find you here let me find the comments and we'll get to it there we go this is being broadcast on our Canadian Channel and on our Rock history Canada and rock history music so let's see what people are saying let's see got about 178 people here this is a hot topic for a lot of people because you know you can't really ignore it on some levels unless you don't go to concerts is it smart to look at who you're going to buy I mean if you're paying if you're paying like a few hundred bucks for a ticket I've even said this before I can't afford to go to shows unless they're free I live off YouTube and I'm I'm very lucky to be living off YouTube but every month people send us donations which really helps us a lot because YouTube's income is like this and like that so thank you I'll send out a letter to all the folks who have contributed to our PayPal links are in the description if you ever want to help out but it's a tough it's a tough living making a living on YouTube some months you do really well other months you're going holy snap and turtles this has not been fun so um let me just take mark off here hold on there we go and I'll change the camera again that's my old camera this is my new camera better lighting okay let me read some of your comments there I have many comments uh oh stepen Elmo says the channel Vancouver I used to be in Vancouver from 19 1989 to 2002 and I worked I just recently uh uh was laid off from my job in Vancouver working for a move 103 after 30 years they treated me very well flipper Carl Carlin also the Guess Who with Britton Cummings and Gary played Pan-American games yes they had a lot of as I said in the thing they had a lot of reunions Alan Murphy here's some maths fake bands are charging 1,000 pounds to 150 pounds which is double that in North America per ticket and venues up to 5,000 people well look at Foreigner Foreigner should not this is Foreigner is like the worst case to me because MC Jones can't even go on stage anymore it's ridiculous you are not seeing Foreigner this is not Foreigner but if you want to go and listen to Foreigner music done by a bunch of guys who didn't contribute to it but sure can play it well then all the power to you but you can't go around saying you saw Foreigner cuz you didn't you saw a foreigner cover band they can call themselves Foreigner you know I can call myself flipflop and fly at I ain't no flipflop and fly okay [Music] um rambling a drift said been common for about well 30 years a lot of band this has been going on for a long time this is going to change things you know what this is going to this is going to change the way that we look at all this stuff this is it this Rift what Burton Cummings is doing is going to change the way we look at cover bands because people are talking now look you're all you're all on here talking about it because you feel something about it a lot of you and tell me a lot of you have gone Little River band's a great example of going to see this band and then realizing wait a minute hold on let me just look them up here a second let me let me let me uh just give me a second bear with me bear with me oh it's giving me rattle living band why why I ought hold on hold on Wiki is better CU I don't want to go into to their come on give it to me baby here we go little riverband gave me a copy copyright strike because I used her logo because it didn't like what that that the fact that I'd interviewed um Graham Goble uh one of the chief songwriters B burles one of the chief songwriters and vocalist they also vocalist and um Glenn shck and so I used one of their I guess logos that they owned I didn't think they owned it cuz it had had a platypus on it and I'm going well isn't that indigenous to New Zealand Australia area and since there's no Australians in the Band anymore they can't own this well it turns out they did and I couldn't believe oh Wayne Nelson's the guy Wayne Nelson wrote or I don't know if he wrote but he sang the night LS and that's the only guy I don't see anybody in the Little River Band that has anything to do with the hits that's that's another situation okay Northern Grace love the guest who grew up near the Guess Who land Winnipeg I'm sure Gregory cave I guess that means no sugar tonight BD boom VIP not someone should figure out if touring bands with the original member writer continues uh to get the residuals be the Beatles keep their music aware uh awareness alive Robert Leo I'm also leery about bands that are so old they can't bring it anymore well I heard some recently people saying that about Bon Joy about Paul Stanley of Kiss about uh Steve how of yes now I haven't seen that now there's you've heard grumblings of Don Henley when he was what was it Desperado I'm not sure if he was lipsyncing it's sure a good argument that uh is it theia Pegasus the guy who does it um or something like that I I it's pretty good evidence and but if you don't mind that then that's fine at least you're aware of it you're aware now it's not up to the the people who don't like this to sort of educate everyone unless they want to be educated I mean I'm sorry excuse me if you don't care you don't care but you're paying a lot of money and if you say you saw Trooper or you saw the little riverband or you saw joury or you saw um The Guess Who chances are you saw one 10 of The Guess Who or no percent of Foreigner Grant Funk is another one you know um um Brewer and um shocker are still in the band but where's the guy who wrote most of the songs you know Mark farer is not there so you're really seeing what Grand Funk should be going to see those guys I don't know Lewis Crow the band's age and members leave they will only become more common yes is almost there here's another thing a lot of people give me the sports analogy and I I'm okay with that for a long time I was looking at the sports analogy I'm going yeah that's right it's like a baseball team but anyone in the Philadelphia Flyers right now claiming to have won two Stanley Cups re yeah that's the thing if you use a sports analogy you're going well does there anybody in the Philadelphia Flyers or the Montreal Canadians what in Montreal win like 20 some Stanley Cups is it 30 I forget I look not looking but the Flyers were my team in the 70s and there's you know there's no Bobby Clarks or Rick mes or uh Bernie pant in there they're not going to claim they won those Stanley Cups but it's commonly known that that's not those guys so saying a sports team goes on and on they're going yeah but they weren't the team from 73 to 75 you know they weren't that team that were doing all that magic stuff they weren't none of the Oilers are pretending they're the Oilers from the wing Gretzky Mark messia era of the 80s no we know that it's commonly known that so the sports analogy goes only so far as to say yeah we yeah we're just like a sports team we go on forever I I think it's great if a band wants to go on forever I think there's nothing wrong with that see my I'm fine if someone else was performing yes that'd be great as long as I know when I go to yes um John Anderson's long gone Alan White's dead Chris Squire's dead right and we've got uh um Steve how hanging in there so to me for for yes to see Steve how would be kind of cool steve looks old I don't care he's always had that kind of look anyway but I want to know what I'm seeing I'm in the know with this stuff it's my business it's I'm I'm I make a living on YouTube because I kind of need to know do I know everything no but I know when I go see a band if they're real or not so if there was some semblance of this is who you're seeing remember I was telling you the other day we were talking about this at the beginning I don't know if it's true in defense of the current Little River Band who where Wayne Nelson's the only guy in there who sang a hit one guy someone a few people had come on and said well we went to a little river concert little riverband concert and they signed our albums but you know these guys weren't on any of those albums I have a Firefall album downstairs that jock Bartley who's still the only remaining member of Firefall someone sent me this he said I got I have a Firefall autographed album I want to send you that's great I looked at all the names and you know autographs are hard to tell and I'm going Larry Burnett's not on here Rick Roberts is not on here and I knew that they were long gone from the band the two guys who sang most of the hits and I'm going this is not really a Firefall signed album you'll get that that's the other side of this you'll see autographs I mean if you don't mind someone a current band member signing something that's fine but it's not the guys who created the hits it's not like a sports team because people really think I mean the writer had said something if you think you're going to go see the same band that you had uh maybe seen 50 years ago if you're that old or they're that old I mean chances are there's not going to be all of them there it's very rare when Triumph got back together you know um it was nice to see all three of them but there's only three of them and luckily they're still alive and they did a short little what three four song thing for their documentary and then that was it Mike LaVine on drums Even Rick Emma told me says you know that he it'd be more challenging for him because to play drums at his age when you haven't played drums all the time that's different that's a whole other argument so it's kind of a sad thing that we are seeing and paying money when we think we're seeing the band I mean if it's the lead singer the guy who wrote All the Hits and a backup band I can deal with that backman turn overdrive he didn't ride all of them Fred Turner was there and the other guys but I would go see back and speaking to the Guess Who because Randy bman was in The Guess Who up until 1970 but if he calls it bman turnover drives it means I'm going to see Randy bman do BTO songs and I know that most of them a lot of them he sang so that I'm okay with that but I know that if someone see goes to see a backman turn overdrive expect ing CF Turner Fred Turner Blair thoron and and the other Bachman boys they're not going to they that's not it it's Randy bman so there's a lot of what the hell's going on going on let me get some of your comments a lot of comments today Northern Grace um I go to see Burton cumings again yeah running back Sask tun man what a great way to start the show unfortunately I saw Burton here in in Calgary we're at the end of the row and there was four seats at the end us and there was these big guys big strong bulky guys who came maybe three songs into the concert and the two guys were drinking a lot and they proceeded to talk the entire show and they were seated the two guys were seated together and their girlfriends or wives were seated together and they wouldn't shut up the entire show what was I gonna say shut up probably beat me up and spit me out should have said something uh Robert Le Point Journey Falls in a category that bugs me speaking of sound alikes well Arnell panade I saw him a few weeks ago with journey and I have to I have to say that it sounded I mean the thing is you can't get Steve Perry back he's not coming back Neil Shan's still there Jonathan Kane's still there I thought it was a great show I was okay with that show I'm okay with journey I'm certainly okay with Toto the Undisputed Leader of the Band Steve Luca is still there my favorite vocalist of all time uh uh Joseph Williams is still there so I enjoyed the show I you know I I thought it was great uh Rob uh Robo at least BTO Randy has the blessing of Fred and Blair yeah that's true Burton is releasing a new album he is I'm hoping to get him on the channel it' be nice to have him the thing is Burton coming just like it's like me talking to Rick amtt you talk to Burton Cummings for half an hour really you're going to get off there really being unsatisfied when I talked to Artemis pile you know the the drummer who survived the plane crash in 77 for for Leonard skinnard I got off that interview going oh come on half an hour you know and I ever since have been trying to get a hold of em is saying we've got to talk I can't interview you without talking about the pl I gotta get something about the CL and then he said well we'll do at some other time and I'm sure he's going to try to do but you know talking to Burton Cummings would be like yeah have like 10 hours I'm not going to ask for that but hope I can get them oh yeah for many years there have been four versions of the platters because the record label owned the name and there were two versions of uh the band sweet or the site if you're from England uh Steve priest had one in England right and uh there was one in North America it was interesting uh okay I'm going to wrap things up here Roger hson almost took over over for John Anderson in the 90s I'd heard that rumor for yes because they they sound alike if you listen to it you wouldn't think of it offhand you're going John Anderson and Roger Hudson of super they don't sound like oh wait a minute they do sound alike and we've had Roger Hudson on this channel it wasn't an interview that I did but we own it and he's been on the channel and we've had John Anderson on the channel so there you go they say make your videos at Le least 20 minutes long and we've kind of been on here and I appreciate everyone coming on tonight I was not going to come on um yeah Andy Scott sweet uh because of my dentist appointment today like you ever go to the dentist and they they hop you up with Happy Gas W all day I've been a walking zombie like crazy walking zombie I'm gonna play you before we leave and we're not leaving yet I'm going to play you the little thing that we did on the Guess Who one more time the story of The Guess Who goes way back to 1958 when Chad Allen started a band in Winnipeg called Allen the silver tones but it took a few years for the band to stabilize by 1962 they were named Chad Allen and the reflections the initial lineup included Chad Allen on vocals rhythm guitar Randy bman leag guitar Jim kale on bass Bob Ashley on keys and Gary Peterson the drummer by 1965 they had changed their which is usually the song Brit and coming starts his concerts with 1973 brought Orly and glamour boy to the top 40 the following year star baby and clap for The Wolf Man and in 75 Dancing Fool and loves me like a brother these were all with Burton Cummings after many personnel changes by 75 Burton Cummings left the group to go solo and that certainly worked out for Burton Cummings with hits like stand tall and I'm scared from the debut album Timeless love you're backyard and the title song to the second album from 77 my own way to rock got lots of AirPlay all over the world Burton comings biggest album was his third dream of a child three times Platinum featuring the title song Break it to them gently I will play a rap city and mean in so much and the hits kept on coming like in 1981 you saved my soul mother keep your daughters in the following year Something Old Something New in 1990 he had take one away and the tune free which reached the top 10 there have been many reunions with the Guess Who Through The Years some with Randy bman some with Briton Cummings and some with both but one thing's for certain The Guess Who Remain one of the most popular Canadian bands of all time little thing where we're going to start doing when we do uh our live feeds we've got uh one coming up with uh uh Malcolm Bruce who's Jack Bruce's son we've got it all done we were supposed to release it last week we've got one with u with David Henman who is the first guitarist for April Wine which is coming up tomorrow that's what we got to do before I I let you go I'll tell you what was said this is from Britain Cummings uh they wrote before we go back to regularly scheduled programming so to speak we'd like to share that one of the current new members of the band get who uh came up with a nickname for Burton burpin cuum stain very childish yep that is what they are calling an icon in the music industry because he isn't letting them use the songs after they basically borrowed them for 45 years and then there's another hashtag FBC which is blank Burton Cummings you don't own the songs they're not your songs you're not the real band and just because I mean you set press in it by letting someone do stuff and what's worse than letting someone have something and then all of a sudden taking it away from them it's it's hard I can understand them they got families to feed Mark Lindsay came forward from um uh um from um am I'm getting a mantle blank Paul R and the Raiders there there it came now and he basically said listen man you know when someone starts pretending that your work is their work or trying to pretend that it is there's a problem and another writer which we I'm just paraphrasing what we said today let me see where is it it's oh yeah a writer Andrew uner basically said the same thing that it's it's not your right to pretend that you are the person who created those hits it you didn't and in the long run this might change some things for some people who are pretending to be who they're not they didn't create these things and I my thing is I always have a lot of problems when you'll get people autographing albums they'll autograph an album without saying a word as if they were on the album you know when I uh interviewed April Wine in uh 200000 with Miles Goodwin Brian Greenway who's the only guy remember remaining in that fold came came in I think 77 um Jerry Mercer and Jim clinch Brian Greenway was the guy who said do you want me to sign the first album I wasn't on that album and then we' go to uh um on record he says well you know I wasn't I I said no no I know what albums you were on um but he signed all the other ones he didn't he said you sure he didn't want to take credit for something he didn't do because he didn't I think first glance was the first album that he was on and he didn't feel comfortable but I said no I don't mind I actually want you to sign to sign them and he did but nowadays people are signing autographs on albums they weren't on you know kind of a tough thing I asked um Graham Goldman of 10cc I said you're touring 10cc the other guys are gone uh Eric Stewart uh Godley creme they're not gone gone but they're not in the Band anymore and uh I said are you ever going to you're touring the 10cc will you ever record a 10cc album he says no not without the other guys he say that's kind of my L Line in the Sand so that was his line it's always different thank you guys for coming on tonight sorry I didn't get to all the comments I I I'm still really really tired from going to the dentist today and
