you know we executed our game plan the way we wanted to from your time working with uh coach Kurt Miller like what did he teach you that you know maybe you've been able to use against it now um I think uh one of the things he always said was you know just um play quick and short area so I think that's something that I've definitely used um you know throughout my my career just you know um you know hitting screens and and rolling hard yeah I just have a couple questions for you guys um I work with the Southern California D group time here great win for guys tonight um Marina I just had a quick question for you they were kind of pressuring you on those you know three-point looks yes uh two days ago you know kind of pressuring on the B screens and off those pin Downs how do you think they kind of change up their coverage what were you seeing out there that gave you more space I mean we have a like a big group of great players so if they're going to take me away then somebody else can score and if they're going to take somebody else away then I'm going to open up so just making the right play and trusting that my teammates know that I like to shoot threes and they're going to find me so maybe last game we didn't get as many good looks but then this game they found me so how do you feel like you were in the zone in the fourth quarter you hit three in a row oh you know um you know I saw some open looks so they gave me some space so I'm gonna see um we Alyssa was Finding I think she had 12 assists tonight that's a lot of a lot of those went to you inside you were getting position just how do you feel like she was able to find you down there um I know know I mean I've been playing with her for so long now but I I know once I get positioned she's going to find me um and if she can she's going to make the pass for the next person to find me so um for me it's just about doing my work early and getting the seal and then you know finishing the play yeah what is your strategy on those seals get them behind me but um no I think it's just footwork I think it's just you know making sure my screen angles are are right um and then just you know finishing the play what do you think the Sparks did in the first you know four or five minutes that kind of got you guys on the back foot how do you think you're to come back from that um I think we were just um you know turning the ball over I think you know they were rotating hard um out of their traps and think like that I think just um you know it took us a minut to find the the right play once we did um you screens and and rolling hard I never F that's go Emily on Zoom em go ahead um Marina for you we've seen a lot of um the minutes with you and um bronica and Liv um in that first rotation off the benches what do you like about playing with with that group of the three of you how do you feel like you guys have complimented each other um I think we should we just try to bring a lot of energy so like maybe if the starting group is in is energetic will try to come in and help give them a boost and get them going um and then also just like our skill set like Liv's great when she screens and Dives and she got that free thr line jumper and then Veronica is really good at getting into people and getting out in transition she's been shooting well too so I mean just knowing that we're valuable and we can come in and also make an impact and um the starters are also very welcoming like when we come in they start moving the B to us and stuff like that and Breezy for you just seems like you found a really consistent stretch here over the last couple of games just what do you feel like has has gotten you more consistent looks over the last like five games um I mean I think those first few games I had some good looks I just wasn't finishing them um I think it's just you know settling in and you know slowing myself down and and just you know taking my time down there I think um and finishing the play um honestly because my teammates were finding me early I just wasn't finishing it um you know those first few games so I think just getting out of my own head and and just taking my time in the paint he questions for the players okay thank you we back with st all right um just proud of our group you know I thought we came out with a lot more sense of urgency uh tonight you know particularly in that second quarter that set the tone um we did a lot of really good things obviously we'll always have some things that we want to continue to work on but I felt like um some adjustments that we wanted to make from from Sunday to tonight uh we made them we executed them and um we imposed our will a little bit more so we're just proud of our group yeah coach um can you go more in depth on your team's tenacity and physicality physicality they showed tonight was amazing yeah I mean I think we want to make things difficult for our opponents you know we don't want to allow them to even catch the ball in positions that they want to catch it so we've got to be a little bit more disruptive we got to force their catches High we've got to try to get them off their line not allow them to go where they want to go um I felt like our sense of urgency defensively was a little bit um more heightened tonight than it was on Sunday uh we were anticipating a little bit more we weren't off of our man quite as much um and that allowed us to to be a little bit more disruptive um yeah coach V talked about kind of his coverage towards Marina in the last game and how he felt it was it worked to make her inefficient from deep do you feel like he change up anything today or do you think it was just a hot shooting uh I think she got hot now certainly great Shooters have the ability to do that um you know I felt like on Sunday she was able to loosen them up a little bit because she was facilitating you know in those coverages in the pick and roll so she didn't get her shots but she she got her assist and she was finding her open teammates um and I felt like tonight she she just got hot and when when we've got hot Shooters we got to find ways to to continue to get them touches and I thought we did a good job of that how does it feel like for your offense when you have a shooter going like that is how does that open things up no it just makes it everybody's life a lot easier there has to be a higher attention to detail uh to that player on the defensive end of the floor it makes makes her you know in in in multiple situations they're going to have two on her so it opens up somebody else and so then it becomes making the right read and making the right play how' you feel about Alyssa's Distributing tonight I thought was great you know I think that's one of the strengths of her game is her ability to to find her open teammates to um to read in the coverages to to make the right read and right pass and uh we we got the ball to her in the middle of the floor and she was able to go to work the Sparks Coach K coached a lot of these these players in the how do you feel like I don't know if you talked to him about it how do you feel like he kind of helped him out as well well I I talked to Kurt um before I took the job you know just just you know Kurt and I go way back to when I was a player way back in the day um and so I talked to him before I I took the job and you know he always praised how hard this team worked how competitive they were um how versatile they were and uh you know certainly Kurt's a defensive coach so the defensive mindset um of the players on this team has been there from from day one he's one of the most prepared coaches um you know certainly in the league and and so they they uh they carry that defensive tenacity over it's a big part of what we do um but he set the standard for that Emily go ahead uh at moved to number one tonight in franchise history and field goals and steals just could you speak a little bit to her Legacy and just sort of what what she's meant to this franchise I I mean you know certainly when you think about the numbers that are up there hanging in the rafter you know her hers could potentially be there before she's done playing right I mean just what what she's meant to the franchise um her name is all over the record books you know she's as versatile a player as as we've seen in the league um with with what she's able to do you know it's not a surprise um certainly that that she's you know the career leader I know Breezy's on her tail that's what she said in the locker room Breezy's right on her right on her tail there but um you know the the the scary thing is that you know she's she's in the prime of her career right right now so she's got a lot of lot of records that she can continue to break and a lot of Milestones that that she'll set the standard for other questions okay thank you thank you got thanks Emily
