they're Gap Brands any whoever owns it I just go to Old Navy I was going to say I wonder if Gap cuz I haven't been a gap like in a gap in like 15 years I wonder if it's come back a little bit too I I feel like it probably has it is funny to me that like Old Navy which was like the OG kind of fast fashion company where their clothes were kind of dog [ __ ] and fell apart but were super cheap now fast fashion is in in envogue and like very very popular and Old Navy's like okay cool now we'll have to be actually a good clothing company so they're definitely not a good clothing company but what's happened is the other ones have done shrinkflation banana Public's clothing and quality has gotten so much worse Gap quite frankly I've never really gone enough to know how much worse they've gotten I'll tell you Old Navy's quality has not improved it's that the other places no that's wrong I used to go because every summer I would go to Old Navy at the beginning of the summer and buy with like $30 and buy a bunch of cheap clothes like t-shirts that could get me through the summer it's like they were never as bad as we as we said they were but but it's better than that now I Old Navy never had stuff that I would wear until now they didn't have an oversized t-shirt like thick t-shirt like looks and stuff wise yeah I think it's just like whatever is fashionable now quality and sustainability I think is better than it used to be yeah I enough to know wholeheartedly Old Navy is better than it was when like I was in high school it's again I think that maybe I think that more of it is like I I definitely could tell you Banana Republic has gotten so much worse I've never been in a Banana Republic I can't speak to that Banana Republic used to be a easy way to dress in offensively and now it's just bad and it's like if I'm going to get bad quality [ __ ] I'll Amazon spend $20 no I'll spend $20 less and go to Old Navy or whatever but I'll tell you what no free ad I I won't give it away I cuz I don't want people to wear the clothes that I wear gatekeeping clothes yeah well I don't know just like people are like hey where'd you get that I don't want to say I get all my [ __ ] at the same place I don't these pants are Old Navy I think I got them the day that we went to Old Navy together this is uh Calvin Klein Nike Adidas oh yaka I don't want to talk about this changed on them but hasn't they're sick as [ __ ] and they're they look awesome so it's so much better now was already good and now so good the the inaugural season patch the patch is beautiful yeah the patch is the patch is good uh to the league uniforms my stance Remains the Utah Inaugural patch Same like like I think that with every look that we get at them like I I might I might like it a little bit more but I still think that my like of these jerseys is going to max out at yeah they're fine they're inoffensive like they're pretty pretty decent for an inaugural season but they could be so much better and we saw that with the uh somebody did a mockup replacing the black with purple and they look so much better doesn't do it for me the blue is great if you had the purple in it and you made it look more like the Utah Jazz it would look so [ __ ] good but like how did you feel about the Boston Fleet doing basically a sideways Whalers logo which I loved but a lot of people were like I have figured out that this looks like the Whalers it's like yeah it's an homage I don't want that [ __ ] to happen with the Utah Hockey Club and again I like these colors for them it it's it feels familiar without being super derivative and that is a tough line to walk and I think that they've done it like favorite jerseys in the world but I like them I like I I have always been that like they could definitely use purple in the color scheme but especially for the fact that these jerseys were not well thought out and are supposed to be temporary and they're already better than like half of the League's jerseys oh that's an overstatement come on I don't think they're better than half of the League jerseys but they are definitely good and not every I think they're pretty I think they're pretty good is good that's crazy I think they're I think they're pretty good I think they're I I've told you I think they're better than the do I I said that without thinking of if like ranking 15 jerseys ahead of them I guess I think they're better than the Ducks jerseys I think they're I don't like the duck jerseys that's wrong I don't like the duck jerseys I think I not that I don't like them I think they're better than the duck jerseys I think think they are better than like the Blue Jackets jerseys I think they're better than the Wild jerseys that's two teams I have to know the love of your life seemingly super chatted in disgusted with our Old Navy habits and said uh chat don't listen to these bozos they have no drip and then I believe the love of your life left afterwards so I think that we made the love of your life so mad even by like I feel like I was tacitly endorsing Old Navy I was I would always secretly shop there dip in get one item or two knowing people aren't going to Old Navy like my age or I mean we went to Old Navy purely out of necessity like we weren't being like we should take a shopping spree we had to get we needed to update our wardrobe for Florida but after making that trip I was like D I got to go back to Old Navy and also I don't care where it comes from if I look good I look good right ex I look good did you not dip Pacioretty PTO into Old Navy before was that like your first Old Navy in a while in a while yeah yeah there's again you're gonna find go everywhere walk by a store and unless there's stuff that you're like I would captain of the Montreal Canadians and uh former frequently injured guy is signing a PTO with the Toronto Maple Leafs 30 5 years young played I want to say 47 games for the capitals last season which honestly was really good for him because in the previous year he was limited to a handful of games tore his Achilles twice in a one-year period and now he finds himself in Toronto is this exciting do you like this I not to be mean but like nothing about Max patet is exciting that's kind of been the max Pat ready experience for a very long time now he is a very nice guy uh I met him in car Carolina uh very nice guy he does nothing for me he was excited when he would push zenoa yeah I mean it ALS I do like him going to Toronto because he wears 67 I hope he continues to wear 67 the jokes right themselves so I'm not going to make them uh but that's funny but it doesn't I don't know how how great he is anymore with all his injury concerns he only played like what 47 games or something uh last season then you mentioned points so yeah I mean PTO why not take a chance but I'm not expecting a ton yeah I'm not either other uh PTO I do like PTO season same Kyler Yamamoto with Utah he's gonna be wearing that patch uh let's see who else uh Pier Edward belmare to Colorado Michael Hutchinson with the Devils it's kind of exciting sure have they solved their goal tending problems with Michael Hutchinson yakob zoral with the Devils I want yakob zabor to become a thing at some point UHD my devil's friend uh fan texted me and was like what should I expect from yakob Boral I was like he is probably one of like 12 fifth or sixth defenseman that you have on that team if he has a good camp great you got a you got a guy who won a job but I wouldn't expect much more than that well um ago I uh settled I settled in a in a house uh uh it's a it's actually Vinnie's lary house the one the one uh Vin's been traded for me so we've been playing together in Providence so right after the trade he we called each other and he was like Hey if you want to if you want to stay in my house during the season you can so we just set it up and uh and I'm I'm in Vinnie's house so so it it worked out perfectly you take each other's jobs and then you take his house that's incred that's so I mean I know that like I maybe when you get traded from Boston you're like man I wish they wouldn't have done that or whatever and like you you probably feel some sort of emotions but you probably don't feel anything towards the guy for whom you're traded but that's so that's so funny but also perfect for you that you're like man they traded me for this guy so now I live in his house yeah I mean I mean it was it was like so funny cuz like especially is vinck uh he's he's like the only guy only guy that I knew from the team and uh he just texted me like two minutes after the trade happened and we called each other like five minutes after and and we were we were basically like like what the [ __ ] like so so so it was kind of it was kind of funny like we uh we we've been laughing about it and you know you know it's it's really turn out turn out great with with the housing thing and uh with me being in his so I'm I'm really really grateful to him DJ brings up a good point though that like you're you essentially like have you speak in memes and that's the funniest thing about you I think uh but you're from Czech Republic you speak pretty good English played in the queue note so like he has the dry cadle thing going on where like yes English Second Language but did get a little Head Start came over to North America got a little like uh Cree had that same thing thing going on but finished how do you how did you just like learn [ __ ] memes it's wild did you learn to speak English through memes in any sort of way like did did they affect your your learning of the English language okay so uh my learning of like English language was uh you know like you have English in school uh I had like a private teacher uh growing up like when I when I realized that like a hockey hockey get like a little bit more serious when I was starting like playing with Pros like around like 16 some uh you know the scouts are coming to see me for the games and stuff like that so I kind of get like a little more into into English and uh you know you went to combines just speaking with everyone about hockey you feel pretty good you get to the draft like you know they asking you about the hockey questions and like yeah yeah so you feel great about your English Then I then I get to Boston and I didn't understand anything really and yeah so so I understood every third word like you know you get into the point you get to the point when you're talking like uh about stuff about non hockey stuff and I just didn't understand like literally anything so so I I got to say that the the one year in Q like helped me a lot cuz uh you know there were there were guys from like who who speak French the English were second language for them as well and a few guys you guys which were from like Nova Scotia uh you know monton and places like that which which were like English English guys so I was kind of like a learning learning a lot from them and you know just speaking speaking on a daily basis in in English so it helped me a lot and the one thing the one thing that I was doing was like playing video games and like you playing video games in English so uh I was I was learning a lot through video games and like bet you learned a lot of nice words playing video games I mean when I was playing single players yes when I play multiplayer I didn't learn anything good but it was just repeating Call of Duty l uh Lobby slurs you're like what I heard it on on the internet I was also wondering like I don't want to drop a seab bomb here but like if you do learn English through memes like what like do you walk into work one day see like Don Sweeney and be like oh you're really serving like seaword today and they're like that is not how we talk around here young man but there the we'll talk about the swan Shaden Kirk elevator thing but it's such a funny adorable video you sitting on the floor in an elevator in a scary moment and you it's San takes a video of you and you're just sitting there and you say go to chatties they said like that is not what I would say in that moment but that is very that is very meme coded I mean I mean like it was just like a such a random thing cuz like we were like literally on our way down and I I don't know if I dropped it or sway dropped it and we were like hey like can you imagine if you got stuck here and five seconds five seconds L 5 seconds later we got stuck in that elevator and I'm like I'm like sway hey this this hey this just didn't happen right like like someone's like making making fun of you fun of us right and literally it just didn't it just didn't click to like a bottom by like I don't know like few inches so they couldn't open it so so we immediately called Shady Shady went down and there was like a little small little window that where he was like basically laughing at us for like 10 minutes then we called like you know there was no no chance for us to open it and we call we call the the fire uh like the fire department if they can get us out of it out of the elevator so one one fire uh like a one fire truck came and they were trying to open it but it was alt elevator with like a magnet uh magnet lock so they had no idea how to open it basically like without a without a big like uh like a saw so they they they had to call another fire truck they bring a like a big uh how you call chainsaw they they brought like a big chainsaw and they had to they had to cut the lock so it took us like almost like an hour we were stuck there but you know it was just it was just like so Random so funny because we were talking we were a little like joking about being stuck there and few seconds after we we got stuck so the the story was you were visiting Kevin chat and Kirk for uh Christmas you and Jeremy Swan which is a nice thing that happens all the time players will because if their their families are out town or whatever and you end up getting stuck there I did have this question on Swan do you think the reason he hasn't signed with the Bruins is because they keep trading his friends I I I don't know I don't know if I'm in a place to comment on that but I I don't I don't I don't I don't think that's the I don't think that's the reason but uh you know um I hope I hope I hope they'll they resolve it uh soon cuz uh Su s is a hell of a goalie hell of a person and uh and NHL would uh would have Miss a great great player great personality to play if if they won't sign uh if they won't sign it in uh in in like in in in soon you know so I hope hope de's over it soon and uh he will play he's an incredible person we we love him so much how how did it feel getting traded from Boston I mean uh you know like first of all it was a it was a shock like I had I had no idea it was going to happen uh you know exit meetings with Boston I think went went like okay went well I had no no idea something something would be in talks like about me getting traded but you know it was it was during the draft uh we uh back home I was back home we have like a big Film Festival like close to my hometown so me and my buddies we were like uh sitting uh sitting in the town uh having a dinner and you know I was kind of like I was like three beers down and I'm sitting there and and I saw I saw on my phone that like Aon s is calling me so I'm like oh my God I'm getting traded so pick up the phone got got told that I'm traded to Minnesota and it was basically it so uh it was a it was a shock for me and uh but I'm I'm really I'm really glad that I'm in Minnesota right now uh and I'm I'm really excited I'm really excited for this season I'll be real like Pete I you probably feel the same like I'm happy for you in a lot of ways because the the In-N-Out thing this happens all the time like where there're good players who in whatever their situation is they're so close to like consistently having that spot and getting it like because once you do have the spot then you can kind of work your way up and establish yourself even more you're probably at a point in your career maybe a couple years in where you want to be playing regularly and getting to get as much run as you can no yeah I mean like obviously like uh I just I just felt it uh first first feeling was like okay like uh this is a new chance like you know uh just start somewh new and build my build my position there you know like I play I played like most of the last season I was I was up the whole year and now I'm feeling like I I get somewhere uh I get to the place where uh you know when you look when you look on on all the trades that like Minnesota did by the traded line you know they basically traded their whole forth line so uh I mean I'm in a place where uh we can we can establish and like a build build something for like for myself in on that fourth line and bring back like the the mentality and like the what uh what what the Minnesota wants from me and from the fourth line so uh so I'm I'm really happy with the position position I'm in I'm in right now and you know just like try to try to build something here were you frustrated by the end of your time in Boston by being in and out all the time I mean like even as our relationship aside like I was like just put him in the [ __ ] lineup he's one of the fastest guys they have like you have more upside than a lot of the guys they were putting in there were you frustrated that you didn't get more of a chance I mean like obviously like every like uh every guy who doesn't play kind of want to play but you know like I was uh we were uh there were there were some points like especially in playoffs where I thought like I could I could go in and play but you know that's uh that's the decision decision of the coach decision of the management so so I was I was just trying to be present trying to be positive and like be a be a good teammate so uh obviously I wanted to play more like like everyone would but it wasn't really my decision and you know you know didn't play didn't play that much like but you know it is it is what it is uh it's it's it's just like that you know what did that goal in game three feel like because you had the partial break to the net eblad I'll say it for you kind of helps you into Bob you end up going from a great scoring chance thinking that you're going to get the team back into the game to sit in the Penalty Box you end up scoring later in that period and you you looked the most pissed I've ever seen someone after they scored a goal you scored that goal and you were like you look like you were ready to kill somebody what was that I guess like 10minute period of your life like I I mean like it's already like four five months right so I can talk about it but I mean like I had no I have no sorry if I dropped the I had no [ __ ] idea what the what the referee was doing with me like with me giving me like interference penalty for that cuz I I I don't know if like anyone anyone could avoid it or like I I don't know I would need to like a face through someone to not hit bosi at that point when someone drags me put me on the ground and basically hit me hit me to the to their goalie so I'm like how the hell did I get like interference penalty for that so I I yeah I've been really really pissed and after that like I was I scored so I I was pissed yeah I was I was really pissed even though I scored we we we got to talk about we were we almost saw you die last year we were in Chicago when you took the skate to the eye oh my God right dude we were there's no one who's like had your life but continue you have had awful luck in terms of being out there for like crazy stuff happening to you like go bring us through the Chicago thing how scared were you when you took the the skate to the face I mean I just want to say first that I was incredibly incredibly incredibly lucky and very unfortunate situation because uh you know obviously I got I got hit along the boards ended up on my for and uh I think it was Johnny beer who pushed their pushed their guy like into the boards and how he pushed him he kind of like kick his kick his back kick his SL back and it went right it went right under the visor uh close to my close to my eye and basically like sliced me like a few few millimeters next to the eye uh and broke like broke my skull in like cracked my skull in like four four places so like it was like immediately I couldn't see anything was so much blood was it was like squirting through it was like leaking I was Bloody in like a second and so I like my first pH was like Hey like I need to get to the get to the locker room immediately and as I went to the locker room like right right in front of the the bench I was kind of like hey I need to I need to try if I can see if I can see with my eye and I put my I put I had my I had my hand like that and I put it down and I couldn't see anything it was like pitch black so my thought was like I I don't know if my heartbeat was like 200 or something cuz or my heart like stopped but I I literally fed I don't have my eye so I probably it was like the scariest scariest like moment in my life so far and when we get to the locker room like the the trainer the trainer like hey hey I need to check it if your eye is okay and literally I I I don't know it was kind of like a void I wasn't I wasn't think I wasn't thinking about anything and after after like a few seconds he said that the I okay it missed your eye by by by literally nothing so it kind of called me down but I was still I was still like so so stressed and so nervous that like after it it took me like another like 30 minutes to get like through those through those emotions and when they sue when they sue it together and like hey like you can you can go to show it kind of like uh the all the all the all the emotions kind of left and I'm not going to lie but I kind of I start I start crying like immediately after after they told me I'm fine because Cu uh it was it was scary it was like literally the scariest moment I've been so far that's I mean you got to have like a new lease on life certainly on hockey and all that [ __ ] but like on life to be like damn this was all gone and that just makes me think I've heard stories of players getting injuries on the ice and then what happens in the back after with the trainers or doctors or whatever and like I I'm sure that books could be written about those 10-minute periods of guys figuring out like am I going to be okay because this is such an insane Sport and it brings me to this you are an adopter of the neck guard that has to all factor into that that you're like I I've come too close too many times I'm doing this thing and it's really not going to affect the way I play so so when it happen like uh I was already like had an uh had an idea in my head that I might try neard cuz like something like that happens and it just reminds you like how is this sport dangerous how is it fast that anything can happen in a second and literally like two or three days after the stuff stuff in England happened when when that Adam get got sliced and died died later in a in a in a hospital so uh I mean like when I saw it when I saw it like still with my with my I I sliced uh I had such a bad feeling in my stomach I almost like went to the went to the bathroom and throw and like a thrown up because uh it it just like basically bring back the the feeling that I had uh right after right after the moment when when I got hit with a with a skate so right after that I'm like hey hey I'm not going to I'm not going to risk I'm not going to risk it it's not worth it so I'm going to put my up I'm going to put Nar on and uh you know like I'll better be I'll better I'll better be ready than sorry with that so uh it was like a no-brainer after I after I saw what happened in England and I just I just said hey like can you guys order me net guard because like I'm not I'm not going to play without it what was like the recovery like after you took the took the skate to the face I didn't know that you fractured your skull like how how did you feel the next few days I mean divorce thing was like it was so basically like bloated up like I couldn't see anything and the stitches the stitches were like kind of pinching into my eye so it was like a Non-Stop like shitty feeling but you know like I was just basically waiting for for the moment where I could where when I could see uh from my uh through my eye when the when the swelling go go down and after that I just put a put a cage on and play and it took me like another like month and a half two months when I uh when I could like take my uh take my cage off cuz with all the all the like a cracks that I had like around my eye socket I will say it looks good too so this is a win-win for you it's safe which is by far the most important thing but by far the second most important thing is how does it look and it does look very cool you talking about the cage or the ne guard I'm talking about the neck guard I I like neck guards from a an aesthetic standpoint obiously like you said that's not the most most important part but it's the second most important part yeah and I I mean I mean I I got like couple like you know you playing like couple guys go and he like take your [ __ ] turtleneck off I'm like yeah dude it would be it would be it would be fun or like valid like five years ago but like now I right and uh I was doing a lot of like a wrestling trainings this summer uh with like a guys who are like in Czech like national team like you you 23 or like a guys are on a Brink like turning in like a Senor and stuff so I was I was training with them like wrestling with them so uh I I mean like with those guys like it's so incredibly hard those guys are so incredibly strong it's is completely different thing like than what are we doing you know some like you're exhausted like in the way that like you can imagine cuz you're not doing it every day like they do but but it's so it's so good it's so good I'm so glad like I I have an opportunity and I had like a people that I know that are in this like that are around the wrestling and around like boxing that I know and I can train with so I'm a really grateful for that because like it's it's it's really it's really great uh you're beloved for your social media presence and that social media presence is pretty much exclusively Lord of the Rings memes uh I was going to ask you how many Lord of the Rings meme accounts do you follow but then I just looked it up and you only follow one so do you just have everybody else you follow muted and you just constantly Hammer this one account that you follow you know you know how it works with like a social media know like you kind of see like one post you like it and then like another another 15 or 20 of them is going to going to show up like two minutes after because so so I I can I can only follow One account and I'll see I'll see like uh 30 30 of them like in in next two minutes so uh yeah I mean like a lot of rings is like one thing that I grew up on and uh it was like my favorite my favorite thing ever when I was young so it's really it's really uh it's really close to me and I just you know those those memes are I think like most of them are really funny so it's it's just something uh something I like to do I feel like you've really cornered the market on the horny Lord of the Rings tweets because you have a lot of like when uh when uh we doing it and Helms Deep comes on that [ __ ] like that's unbelievable you are so [ __ ] weird and I love it do you watch Lord of the Rings in Czech or in English no in in English like uh when I was watching in Czech I can basically I can basically say it by my heart you know like when someone was talking I was I could I could like talk talk with him cuz I knew all the all the lines that they were going to say but you know lately lately when I was watching like those the extended editions and stuff and you know like when I'm when I'm SP when I'm speaking English and everything like I I'm watching all the movies all the movies all the shows in English now so lately I was watching it just in English as Pete said uh most of the memes that you post are about Lord of the Rings uh adversely affecting relationships which is just not a genre of joke or experience I'd ever heard not to pry like do you relate to that have you been in moments where like a romantic partner has been like it's me or Gollum and you're like speak gum buddy I mean it's one of one of the red flags if if if the girls tells me that she doesn't like a Lord of Ring some okay you can go go but but why does like I I've I've dated people and they've never had to say whether or not they like Lord of the Rings it's so interesting that Lord of the Rings comes up and becomes potentially a divisive issue like how quickly when you meet somebody how quickly into you knowing somebody does Lord of the Rings come up I think it's like a third or fourth question I would say that's the best it's outrageous that's the best is it like on your dating Pro if you had dating profiles would you put like a deal breaker for me is you don't like Lord of that's the best one there I guess there's not a question there but that is I mean I mean I mean like I'm sometimes I watch in those like stuff that I posted I'm like I'm talking to myself I'm such an is such a like a let's say in compare with like other other leagues like NBA NFL MLB maybe like the NHL is so like gentlemen or whatever like like more strict or where like you don't you don't have a best you do yeah exactly exactly so you know there's a lot of a lot of people like you know uh like a hunt like a hunters for example like for me like hunting was never a thing but you know talking so any socials but he is very passionate about cars for example you know and just people don't know about it because uh he doesn't have those socials and stuff like that but people like hockey players are not not not boring like maybe maybe the the the all the fans or people around like think they are but it just it's just something like you know we don't have those scandals we don't have those stuff like people in NBA or NFL has so like Tyreek hill now right like you don't see you don't see Sydney Crosby get pulled by a police trying to fight with police you know so yeah uh do do do you mean the movie cars or like cars cars cars cars cars okay because if he's a cars guy Pak a big Lightning McQueen guy yeah then like would rock just like hey you want to go see a movie is it cars no B+ that's a good grade how about a strawberry a blueberry B interesting now this one's I think awesome but if you don't like sticky you're going to hate it mango oh mango uh okay if it's like a mango like a mango juice or mango mango like a smoothie or something I would grade it like high like probably like B B+ but mango on its own I I don't know I just don't really like the texture I would give it like a d I'm not gonna lie I'm not that's wild but you do seem like you're a texture guy based off of some of these grades and an easy use guy like they they they the ux on Mango is clunky how much of this is uh you being a video game guy because video game guys love the snacks that don't leave any residue for the controller and the and the keyboard so um so I'm a I'm a big like a I'm a big like U let's say s single player guy you know uh big uh you know I like to play like a games where they have like a long uh long good campaigns like with a great story but also I'm like a bit Call of Duty guy and play War Zone a lot and uh we have a we have a really good group uh with my buddies from back home where we like play a lot of war zone and before before like every time we play I just go there and like make myself a tea you know uh I'll do strawberries wash them like cut the cut the green stuff off and the green leaves you know and just like a prer prepare myself with like a healthy snack so you know the the all the all the fruit that doesn't like make your hand sticky or like doesn't make a mess after I'm I'm all for it and you know yeah I uh I really like to be like prepared for that when you play for like a few hours couple hours like you just need like a some good snack so again so pineapple probably out of the question for you right oh pineapple pineapple is like questions number one what are your preliminary thoughts on Black Ops 6 oh uh so first of all I'm really excited for zombies cuz it's supposed to be back uh the round based again which it wasn't for like past few years so I'm very excited for that I'm kind of worried about that like New Movement that you can like jump on the side cuz like I I was watching like a lot of guys playing the beta and it looks wild it looks wild like if those like guys who like really play like uh multiple hours a day and can learn how to move with that it's going to be it's going to be so hard to play against but you know like I I just have a hope like every single year that it's going to be good again but you know the last one the last one I I kind of liked it wasn't bad but it's not like the you know the the Modern Warfare which was like six years ago or seven years ago or the Black Ops 2 Black Ops 3's Black Ops 4S you know those old ones which were like really really good but you know I'm hopeful I'm hopeful again and like for my first first like uh couple videos I've seen it looks it looks great and um I'm just excited for it and uh as somebody who has recently gotten back into couch gaming in like single player story games give me your top three like single player campaigns okay uh number one's going to be Witcher three wild Hunt I've heard great things I've never done the Witcher did you uh when there was like literally like 150 people people like literally small small village and we used to do like a land parties and we were playing Age of Empire or Stronghold Crusader uh Crusader so we've been playing those games like for my buddies and we just playing line games like against against each other and we've been like it was so funny because we've been doing like a coalitions we just like team up against one guy or and uh just just you know completely destroyed him it was so fun you know you just get like we just get lock we just got locked in a in a room and played for like a three four hours just the Age of Empires and stronghold or Stronghold Crusader and it was uh it was like one of the one of the great like uh you know childhood memories too that's that that warms my that's some Swifty [ __ ] and I I feel like that's a thing that's happening now where people will if a number isn't taken they'll take numbers that add up to it but I'll say 94 suits you well like a mind yeah uh I'm going to quote our friends from Friday beers a lot of these logos are uh NPC picks I love the scepter logo the name doesn't necessarily do it for me but I think the logo looks very clean the logo Prett Sol a derogatory term to you reminds me of like a a country club logo yeah uh the the one we really got to talk about the frost one stinks the sirens one stinks stinks I that's my least favorite one Sirens one stinks the sirens is your least favorite one Sirens St inks I I think from like a visual standpoint it is the worst one but the worst one is Ottawa because Ottawa is literally just if you took the Cleveland Cavaliers logo and mashed it up with the Calgary Flames logo that is exactly what it looks like and it's horrible somebody uh commented on Twitter and was like how does a logo without a face have an un underbite and that's exactly what this logo has yeah is by far the worst logo in my opinion it's so bad and the charge is just like a cool apparently uh the Cleveland Cavaliers g-league team is named the charge yeah so real tough scene for these you're a basketball team called the charge that's less that's Lamer than any of these things you named your team after a literal infraction in sport that you play well to be fair also won an infraction in hockey true true yeah well I we weren't thinking we didn't know that Sean we don't know the rules of hockey yeah I I'll say I don't like two of them I like three of them and I'm indifferent on the fourth I don't really care about the Toronto one I know people are excited because it kind of looks like a Taylor Swift thing that you use in a music video uh that's lovely if that excites you as far as the act that actual logo goes it's just fine for me I like actively love Montreal is by far the best to me I really like Toronto the frost just as such a MH okay I don't like Fleet is a lame name Fleet is not a good name Logo doesn't really do it for me either but I it doesn't offend me New York and Ottawa offend me Sean I sent you all of the logo explanations I was hoping that you would read them all learn them all what have you got for us can you tell us about these logos okay this the logo explanations don't upset me as much as the Jersey explanations because the jerseys are clearly just designed to look cool and then they those logos weren't designed to look cool they weren't designed to look cool at all they were designed need to clarify those were not they were not and like the descriptions were funny because like the frost one was like the sharp edges represent the sharp edges of like frozen ice and I'm like I mean yeah like I would hope so that's what your team name is like that's the kind of the whole point they just they they they didn't offend me as much as the uh as like Jersey explanations there was a lot of this is slanted forward to show that we intend to go forward and you're like all right they are not so if it looked cooler not slanted you wouldn't have slanted it Boston or you would have slanted it just to be like no sailing toward Victory the forward leaning shape of the logo invokes a sail catching wind representing momentum and a Relentless drive for success it's like the second half of that sentence is just like that's all [ __ ] like it's leaning forward because it's supposed to be a sale end sentence I the Relentless charge toward success okay cool everyone's trying to Win Hockey it could mean like it could look like you're coming back from doing something also if you're on if you're sailing you're going somewhere either way just say it looks like we're sailing yeah and also I'll tell it doesn't really look like they're sing it just looks like a bee Boston is such an awesome City with so much character and you're like we're by the water so we have boats cool man anywhere on the coast could have done the exact same thing so Boston what would you accentuate if you were designing a Boston logo oh I don't know something more about like the American history probably or liter literally anything else that makes Boston interesting other than the fact that they're near water and there's boats as an outsider what would you say like the top three things are that makes Boston interesting oh um huh I don't know I hadn't really thought about it that much I mean like it's attachment to US History it's the most important city in like the history of the this country Philadelphia I mean there's like things happen there but like as far as say that as far as like the actual fight for freedom from the King like we had the we had Paul River here and we had oh the Boston Massacre would have gone crazy I know you can't really do thaton Eric rierson said that that would be such a sick name but it's also like I think enough time has something teams should only be in places that have like wild historical context just so the there's opportunity to have really insane imagery with either their logos or their jerseys like imagine you hate that M uh Montreal has Montreal are going to go crazy Montreal automatic but if you had to guess going into these like who's gonna have the coolest one my guess would have been Montreal because it's going to be something to Montreal that's already cooler than whatever you're going to do with your even like the Montreal Victory is a is a sweet name too I like Victory is such a is a solid team name I think shout out Johnny Drama uh the the chat likes that we're doing a US History lesson even though only one of us really is qualified to do that but overall I'd say I'm not unhappy underwhelming I would say I'm not I I will like a Boston Fleet Jersey though they I they I would say they they batted like uh 50 or like they're maybe like four for six at best like you're going to have some misses did you ever um I mean you guys liked it at the outset I think but like came around a little bit on like pwl Boston pwhl Minnesota I I think it was fine you it couldn't be forever you needed some kind of something distinct um I just charge is not distinct at all to me so that's by far the biggest Miss in my opinion I it also hurts though that they're called the auto a charge and Cavaliers if you're going to be called the Ottawa charge no yeah I mean I mean I don't think they were actually ripping off anybody I mean you you give that logo to like a room of sports fans 12 sports fans somebody's got to say this I agree with that I don't think the design was necess like intentionally like they took inspiration from these other things I think it was just a bad logo and then they every once it got released everyone was like what the hell is this okay well uh NHL 25 is out on October 4th we're all very very excited to play it and who better to discuss the future of I want to bring up uh first of all unbelievable interview with yakob blo uh green grapes are a masterclass snack one of the best ever and uh he's now become No Sleeves joins! one of my favorite players uh secondly 10 out of 10 PaRappa the rappa reference DJ I mean I don't know if Pete is just like he's a little bit younger than me I guess but PaRappa the rappa in like 2000 on Playstation was just an unreal game so uh yeah I just wanted to address that real quick look the video game guy now this is an ultimate turnaround what a Redemption Redemption Arc for sure I thought I was dying during that conversation you three people look at you and you look like you were D we're the only three the worst part was like loco is such a like I don't think that people who play video games are nerds but he for sure like knows everything about video games the when he politely said like oh I I haven't heard of that one I'm like [ __ ] this guy's heard of everyone I was going to say you said it was popping in 2000 yeah like he was born in exactly there's no way that you know even anyone born after like 97 would know that game but uh I don't even know if he would know like golden eye and that was the video yeah what's what was that one you're right James Bond wait really we only played PaRappa the rap all well of course no please I would I would I was gonna do the like I'll [ __ ] up anyone here in Golden ey everyone talks that way about old video games somebody's gonna win whatever I did smoke my nephew in uh Mario Party recently he's like four had to teach him a lesson no I Sean gave Sean gave a pro I love Mario Party and also beat kids in no disrespect to your kids but [ __ ] them kids like they need to learn how to lose oh yeah totally uh 100% make sure everybody is subscribed to uh cam on YouTube it's at sleeveless gaming it's fantastic I watched some of your videos getting ready for NHL 25 is it gonna be good it'll be better than last year so bad I mean it's they're all just you know here's the thing here's the problem with the gaming industry we play video games too much we play one game too much and there are very few games that have ever been created that can handle the amount of time that people get obsessed with a game to play so every sports game suffers from this NHL is a smaller Dev team it's a niche game of a smaller sport in comparison to like FIFA and and Madden so it's always viewed super negatively and then everyone that you know it's I I also think the audience or the game play the the players uh skew older too so everyone just like ah back in my day franchise mode was the only thing that mattered and you know I grew up playing like thousands of hours with Jam mode but um you know I think that NHL 25 has some things that people are going to really like I think the game is going to look cleaner I think that uh it's not going to be groundbreaking by any stretch but I think that uh we're going to have less of those like hilarious stick through the boards into someone Shin pad out their face like stuff you know so that's uh that's what I can hope for but I do think that there's some promising things coming but um you know it's it's not uh it's not coming to PC I think that's what everyone wants is it coming to PC PC and GM connected neither one of those things are happenening that's it you are correct as somebody who lives in it basically like every day for hours on end like where do you sit on the state of the franchise because fans always talk about how much they hate it how much it sucks and they still play hundreds of hours and they still seem to enjoy it even if it frustrates them at points like do you love the game still as somebody who plays it as much as you do I mean I have such a weird relationship with it because it's my job so like anytime you turn a hobby into a job you lose that love for it a little bit um but that being said my thesis on the NHL franchise is that it just skews older I think that the player base like so I I do things for um for the OHL team in Niagara the ice dogs and you know I talked to some of them and they don't yeah like oh sh dog Alex Peter Angelo Jason anyways um the uh I feel like kids that are much younger play hockey and are much more into like um pop culture like Tik Tock and like doing and like playing roller and stuff and it's it used to be the NHL Franchise used to be just a really fun game because people that got into gaming and sports games they never got to play hockey so it was an outlet to play a really cool and interesting Sport and now I feel like the younger generation doesn't play the NHL video game as much as they used to back in the day and I feel like what's left is a much older player base and when you're trying to sell a video game to like a younger audience you know it's it's it's gonna have friction points with the older like one of the things I see the most of is that a lot of players that around my age or even like in their middle 20s they they want the old presentation style back they wanted to mimic what they see on TV and what we get is a lot of like flashy new cinematics and things like that and while they're not bad like they look good it's just not like what would be you what what would the older audience would would really want and I think it's a delicate balance and then you know you've got Hockey Ultimate Team which obviously is a major money driver and there's always going to be resources for that and because franchise mode for example um is basically a game mode that's played by majority of the player base but also the quietest of the player base so the people that play franchise mode aren really loud on social media you know they're they're they're going to play their game they're going to go to work come home play some franchise mode and you know that you don't really see a lot of the criticism there but there I think there's so much of the player base that plays franchise mode and we don't see massive improvements in that year-over-year because it just the the you're getting the initial game sales right you're not getting that Ultimate Team where you're pumping your credit card for for things like that and I think that there's just a friction point in the in the age of the player base I mean I've had success in the community and I'm not particularly all that great of the game but I think a lot of people just kind of um you know appreciate the game in the same way because I was I got to play it when I was much younger and I've been playing it my whole life essentially and it was the way for me to play hockey when I couldn't when I was a kid and um but you know that being said I think 25 will be better than 24 and 23 I think that 23 will go down in history as one of the worst NHL games we've ever gotten 24 was slightly better yeah I I think it's one of the worst and when we look back at them all and I think that 25 will be slightly better than 24 and and we're working towards something it I will say that the current team I've got a little bit more faith than I did when 23 launched which was again it was a disaster and I think that they they're doing some interesting things that I think they they are working in cycles of three years as opposed to what can we cram into this one game and then go and completely rewrite the the leaderboard or rewrite the the the board and and see what we can come up with and cram into that next year they're they're kind of executing things in threeyear plans which is interesting and I remember talking to uh the the main developer the the head developer of of thehl Mike Engelhart when he came on uh in the beginning of NHL 23 he said that that's their plan is they operate threee cycles and we're going to slowly improve upon the things that we've introduced over those time that time period and um you know I think that's how you have to look at the NHL Franchise and it's unfortunate and to be honest I think that sports games as a whole operate in such an archaic fashion because they always operate in that way so every year we get a new Madden every year we get a new FIFA every year we get and those games are much bigger but sports games in general would benefit so much more if they could breathe a little bit and you have a couple years in between sports games and you up update them throughout the year but it's so hard for a smaller de team to create this Banger new game with a ton of new like everything and fix everything especially with the disaster that was like the PS5 and Xbox series X in terms of I mean just letting go of the old consoles in general so tell me if this is this aligns with what you're thinking are you suggesting more like forget NHL 25 NHL 26 whatever come up with the new name let's call it just like NHL hockey that comes out this year and then in two years NHL hockey 2 comes out and it's updated the way that like in my day uh Halo Halo that sort of thing I I think it'd be interesting to see a major sports franchise take that I mean we see it a little bit with uh 2k's golf game um because that isn't a year I for my understanding I don't think it's a yearly released I think they releas yeah yeah exactly so something along those lines but I would love to see what the Madden or FIFA or even NHL Dev team could do so a massive triaa game Studio what they could do in two years and as opposed to one but the the the first game to do that is going to you have to convince the the board of director is like Hey we're not going to have uh you know billion dollars in game sales this year but trust us this next one's going to be crazy I mean NC or sorry U college football 25 is kind of like it was such a groundbreaking G groundbreaking game because the focal point of it was offline play and Dynasty and I you know I don't know if you guys partook but I played a lot of the dynasty the first two weeks that came out and I was so addicted to it and it was it was like the first sports game that was specifically for offline play and that's what they leaned into and obviously it had an ultimate team but that's just secondary whereas every other sports game is the opposite and I think that you're seeing such a good reception for college football 25 because all those Sports Gamers that grew up with sports games we just love franchise mode of the core even if you play a ton of of Hut or ehl or whatever mode you play at some point you'll touch franchise mode when you're bored or whatever right and I think that that's just something that all sports G kind of suffer from and I think that a yearly cycle where you could go more than a year of dead time would be really good I mean to be honest to shed some light the AA de team has about 12 weeks out of a year to actually put new things into the game because what people don't realize is the you have to be ready to ship by like the end of August for the for the early October release you've got to do the alpha you know you've got to storyboard and figure out and you know you're just constantly in this cycle and a year is just really hard to pump out a massive new game with a ton of new features but like I said I think 25 will be better and more well received than 24 uh some of the things that they've come out with uh in terms of the gameplay gameplay is always subjective you know what I like isn't going to be what you like in vice versa in hockey I think it's the hardest video game to get gameplay correct uh because hockey is such a luck driven Sport and in video games you want X's and O's so if I do this shot it goes in you know but in hockey there's luck it hits a shin pad you're shooting something circular like he goes off the boards and it's very hard to make that into a video game so it's always going to be subjective but I do think it's a lot smoother looking hopefully you know got to take everything with a grain of salt but uh I'm I'm hopeful I've been doing this for this is my sixth game now or fifth game now and um you know I do get the uh like here we go another year but I I've got uh some tempered good expectations for 25 this is radical I thought I do know a way that the game could be more realistic is as you advance especially like say franchise mode or something you go years into the future players retire new guys in there's a draft and everything when players retire they should get into media and then they should be on the call of the games and some of them should be like pretty bad and you find out like oh wow like I simulated however many years into the future David poo is not the broadcaster I thought that he would be and like those are things that you find out along the way coov comes on and he's ask has to commentate like Toronto Maple Leaf games like one word every five yeah that's it he just one word the analyst is just having to fill two and a half hours that would be so like you talk hey you've been playing this oh yeah like I'm x amount of years into the future dude like how good is I don't know like McKenzie Blackwood as a broadcaster I did not see that coming yeah dude that's what I'd be into what's up you you would need AI for that and you know I maybe that I'm sure they are already doing that man MH yeah if you had a if you had a wish list for the NHL Franchise like what what's on it oh wish list oh that's tough uh it's mostly Hockey Ultimate Team related um you know I would love to see like collections for example so instead of using the cards as currency I'd love to see you know you collect an entire OHL team and you get a old school OHL alumni of that team things like that but in terms of like you know the grand scale of things like a lot of people will say GM connected I think that they would spend an entire year putting GM connected back in and a fraction of the player base would play it as someone who has a pretty big following in terms of the video game I could do some awesome things with GM connected and have tons of leagues and stuff like that that would be that would probably be uh my number one I'd love to see I'd love to see GM connected come back but a lot of people a lot of people love see that come back I mean to your point like about college football 25 we haven't seen Buzz around a video game a sports video game like that and not just because of the return after like 10 years once it actually came out and people were falling in love with it like the the the hype train has still managed to keep a really impressive level of speed even with people playing offline do you think that that kind of changes the landscape for sports games moving forward where these Dev teams can say you know there is going to be buzz and streamers and content pushed out from offline game modes if we do it right 100% like I said I think that um you know Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and a lot of people when they I remember playing NCAA football all the time I'm Canadian I gotta be honest with you I never watched college football and all you know growing up but that video game was so well done and it was all based on like road to the Heisman and franchise or Dynasty and I think that it just goes to show how good when you when you lean into those modes they looked at not okay they everyone wants a college football game they said okay everyone wants college football 14 but in the modern era and that is exactly what they did you know they they had Ultimate Team included because you know obviously they'd be dumb not to because people will still spend money on it right like it's still a business but it was such an afterthought in comparison to Dynasty uh as well as the the road road to the Heisman so I think that that it's it's such a huge opportunity for offline players because you know again I think that people you one of the I mean the whole reason you guys got a show you talk about what's going on in haw right people want to be able to sit down and then create what they would think if they run a team that's always any sports fan is going to one point have an interest in doing that they don't all want to just get on and then play against other players right and I think that there's a lot more people that do that than de teams realize and I'm sure they have the numbers and things like that but like I said for a team to to lean into franchise mode and not really address the online modes which are the biggest Focus every year it's such a dangerous thing from a business standpoint you know I just try to think logically when it comes to the as I get older and I you know I see the background and how games are made a little bit more and more it's so hard like I said the first like if Madden were to go we're not releasing Madden this year but we are gonna release an unbelievable one next year maybe n maybe college football alleviates that because they added a new title back in but that next Madden game would just sell in Crazy amounts and you know everyone be falling over themselves and maybe it's a like a change to the archaic way of just a roster update every year because you know back in art like back when I was younger it was like NHL like 2000 and whatnot you get like okay now you can do uh the allstar game and you can do like the skills competition and stuff and everyone was like Blown Away by that but you can't do that in games now right but back then they didn't have to worry about online play it was literally just you playing against a CPU so the the changes it was much easier to address and put new features in when you were just playing the CPU back in the early 2000s right so it's a whole other big issue and and um but like I said I think that 25 in comparison to the last couple years is is going to be uh is going to be pretty good it is funny that you say like I'm a Canadian I don't watch college football but I love those games because they were so good that was NHL when I was in college like all of my friends would play the NHL games they didn't care about hockey they didn't watch hockey they just thought that was one of the best sports games out there they loved playing against like their roommates against uh on it and like it's just kind kind of shown how fall how far it's fallen from a title where it used to be considered up there with Madden as like one of the most fun EA sports games to play it was always one of the higher rated ones every year you go back and look at ratings and whatnot and I think a lot of that has to do with how insane the sport is like for someone that you know like you like in the states when hockey wasn't gigantic like it is now um to to the point where it is like it was probably the one sport and maybe football as well but like as a kid growing up you have to have your parents have to Fork out with so much money the opportunity to play is so much lower than all the other four major sports like basketball and baseball uh and football again is a little bit pricey as well but still it's much more available to to North Americans than hockey and it was such a way to play the game and if you didn't play or watch hockey it's still an insane sport like you're on blades you're flying around like you know you're shooting something 100 miles an hour so back then it was such a it it it almost was like let's create a sport with a video game and that's kind of what hockey is like if you were to like create a new sport video game but the sport didn't exist you might come up with something like hockey so I think that that has a lot to do with it and now hockey is just much more worldwide in that sense but in comparison to the other three Sports it's just not nearly as big um and those other sports are just there's so much that goes into those games from the dev cycle or from the dev team like from EA Sports and and San Diego Studios for for MLB but and as they should because those sports are just much B bigger yeah I I also wonder from like a development standpoint too um like I feel like sports games in general are trying to become for the most part like uber realistic as close to realistic as possible whereas like when we were back in college or whatever the NHL video game was more arcadey it was fast-paced it was fun um and I I do Wonder like if you have to find a middle ground if you're a developer where now like the focus always unrealism but it still has to be fun and to get a wider audience Beyond just hockey fans you might need the more arcadey elements of it from a development standpoint it's funny because I think that's what the dev team currently is fighting with internally because I think that the game has been very arcadey compared to 22 is one of the most Sim based NHL games we've ever had um in in terms of it um gam play uh looking like what the real thing is again I think that hockey is a video game is almost impossible to make realistic because there's luck involved and so much Randomness um just when you think about carrying the ball in in football right like you're just running straight or whatever your cuts and whatnot hockey it's just it's just so much more difficult to emulate that being said I think that the dev team currently is leaning into a more arcadey presentation style and whatnot this year we've got skill-based one-timers and if you make a pass correct and you time it right something below your player will light up and and you'll get a more power and accuracy in her shot that's a very video game type technique where I think it has a realistic outcome with a very arcadey way to get there and again I think that's a mixture of like people wanting something that's arcadey and some people wanting something that's Sim based and I think that the player base half the time doesn't really know what they want uh in that aspect because yeah like arcadey hits and deakes are awesome but if it doesn't look like the real thing then you get into this what you just said like it just you know people want to see what they what they watch on television while they're playing a video game it's such a hard balance man and I I don't know if we'll ever get to a point where even like 70% of the people that play NHL think that like it's good because I think so many people debate between arcade and simulation based subscribe to cam on YouTube at sleeveless gaming cam feel good about your sharks this year I'll say that get out on that over under 47 points over I think that they get we're talking 55 Cody CeCe is gonna have like 48 points yeah okay first of all Cody CCE love that you guys hadam on and one of my goals on my stream I'm I'm doing something uh at the launch of the game if I get to a certain amount of Subs I'm going to order a authentic Cody CEC Jersey that will be hung in uh in my room the whole year yes uh so shout out Cody CCE if we get there number but um four or 97 trying to get to we 97 97 for sure absolutely um that that being said um this is the first year the last few years have been bad because they fought doing a rebuild and there was really no look at the future so Eckland last year was the only reason to watch a Sharks game as a sharks fan and even then it was tough this is the first year where I don't care about wins and losses I still think they're going to lose the most in the league I think the Gap will be a little bit closer um because I think Chicago will be better and I think that the the Sharks will also be better so I think those two the gap close on the rest of the league I still think they'll finish last but man is it going to be fun to watch like there will be um just a lot more coverage of them and I can't wait to see Macklin and Will Smith is Will Smith still gonna wear number two yeah I believe so I saw like what isn't that insane I love that for a forward to wear number two one of the weird that's got to be one of the weirdest jersey numbers no we love weird jersey numbers and single digits yeah single digit low single digits for a forward great Behavior I just think not enough forwards are wearing one is the way I look at that zero absolutely not I mean like that's like uh like I still get kind of weirded out when I watch football games and like wide receivers can now wear like skill position guys can wear number one and stuff like it's so or zero I can never understand the choice to wear number zero what are your thoughts on that I need to know I I like it it depends on the position depends on like I saw a quarterback wearing zero the other day and I loved it it's swaggy it's swaggy you have to be that guy only wearing zero what was that say again I was gonna say a goalie wearing zero would go hard yes like that would go hard because it makes s double zero yes every time I go home my grandma tells me how much she likes My Curls and so it's kind of hard for me to to ditch them right now but if I were to cut my hair like I I liked how I looked with it blonde I would consider maybe some other colors but uh would you do like the platinum blonde that's borderline a little purpley uh yeah I would do I would but I would do more just like a lavender purple or like a light pink or something like that like I I wouldn't want it to look like almost a color like I was going to do a color it would be it would be a color I wanted to do it a couple years ago but then somebody else did that color and I was like damn it looked like I'm copying them but right now they don't have good hair so they've left it unoccupied maybe at some point not now mustache is don't have it for the show but I did throw up on Instagram Brock Faber uh took his media Day photos wearing uh glasses well then that's what he looks like though that is how he should do his Media stuff I mean I love it he has his own glasses company I'm sure that that's part of the reason why he's doing that uh like he has his own branded glasses I would love if he went full averman like like if the wild have yaka blo the one of the weird CEST players in the league endearing and they have a guy who plays in glasses underneath his visor one of their best players electric like they're making big steps towards being interesting is that allow is that allowed I feel like it has to be like Rex back kind of thing I feel like I think he would have to do Rex backs yeah I don't yeah I don't think you could just wear like glasses like me like what if you have like the I don't know what it's called the thing that tie you tie I forgot what they're called those are just like beach things whatever I mean I would love to see it seems on their uniforms you'd have to wear a I feel like you'd have to wear a cage or a bucket though like or a fishbowl because well because it would just be like if you blind dep if I lost my glasses I can't play sports without my glass no you can't play sports but like you can make your way to the bench I guess yeah but it's it's just it's like another thing and I'm sure they'd have backups and all of that but like if something happens to your glasses well famously the ice is slippery and if he's wearing Shades like yours can we get a sea watch all right if he's wearing Shades like yours those are going to blend right in what if he has a big open Ice collision and he falls to his knees and he's like has anybody seen my glasses and he's got the wild would be they would open first take Stephen A would finally talk about a hockey then you you potentially have an opportunity for a guy to leave the ice and head back to the room and they're like oh he's going for repairs and he comes back out and it's just his glasses have been repaired and they get the tape in the middle that would be incredible that's very well that's that's hansome Brothers also
