if it wasn't for them we never should have put ourselves in that position in the first place but anyway that's how it ended up so we'll take it I have a special friend guest here tonight to join us he's going to stir the pot a little bit with us we're going to talk about our all Australian side the AFL team of the year we've combined a list here he is they're up and about second we finished second they finished second at the end of the home and away they're up and about and so they should be going to thank your Port supporters Ken hinley I thank you Ken hinley I thank you Trevor spoke I 2024 team the AFL Team of the Year the two of us have come up with our own all Australian side we compiled a list we mold over it some some we agreed a couple we disagreed but here we are we've made our team we're going to read it out tonight and and uh and the team's actually coming out tonight so we're just going to quickly do ours before the uh AFL released their team so and just quickly before we read it out Isaac Rankin could not be considered from the adelake crows cuz he had suspensions and injuries so he couldn't be considered or else he probably would have made yeah if he played enough games he would have made it he only played probably half the games probably this season but he would have definitely made the side he's a wizard and he's a super and he'll get I believe he'll win two or three jumpers pick three in the 2018 National draft same as Crips Butters Rosie Walsh you mean oh Walsh s anyway so that was a super draft that that that super draft the top 10 Oregan Walsh went one and lucous went two ranking three and etc etc Max King 4 r five Ben King six I think Bailey Smith S Thomas Thomas from North and then the crows one who the crow pick upe Chasey Jones and and uh the 10th pick was guy from the swans the lizard under the father Sun Ru yeah uh Blakey and then B is at number 12 so it has proven to be a fantastic draft crop um anyway we can discuss who we believe the best player was in that draft another day another time so we're going talk about Rosie next time yeah we know you love Rosie so this is our all Australian team I'll read the first half and mour where did he come from Marcus bonon Pell from the Bulldogs Zack Butters from La as The Rovers and then our interchange bench we've got Zack mer from Idan Caleb song from Foo Chad Warner from Sydney and then to finish it off Harry sheel from the Kangaroos and they won't select a sub but we we've selected a sub anyway cuz it's our team we're probably going to go with Loy NE Loy NE just to probably get in front of um Adam tror from the Bulldog so we'll give it to Loy Neil now my pick for Captain is Patrick Crips we're probably going to flip here agree to disagree which is fine I'm going to give it to Patty Crips and bondon P Vice Captain and David will give his captain and Vice Captain so my Vice Captain is Patrick Crips and the captain I think bonon py he's been very consistent all year for the Bulldogs I think he's probably the Bulldog's best player ever maybe yeah I think he's tracking that way they're both great players um they both carry a huge toll and load for their team they lead on and off the field bondon P's kick 30 goals yeah pitch hitting forward so he's a tall Midfield as well yeah he's a great player and paty KS has kicked 16 goals um so and he helped pal get the finals he wouldn't play finals if it wasn't for Patrick absolutely he played every game this season didn't he did absolutely he's had his this has been a career best season for Patrick and that's saying something because he won the brown low two years ago he's on target for his fifth best and fairest at cartton which would be record Ealing with Johnny Nichols and that and he's my tip to win the best and fairest for Carlton this year and who do you believe is the best and fairest who's your tip to win the BNF report this year I think it's got to be one of these two here it's either going to be Zack buts he's been consistent all year he's been pretty good that they've tagged him a few games but I think it'll be this man here I think Jason Horn Frances 21 the number one draft pick I think he might just pinch it from Zack Butters but it could you know it'll be I it have to be one of these two no one else would be come even close look Zack buts um is a sensational player and so is war Francis I believe I believe horn Francis would definitely win a brown low at some stage in his career if he stays fit and injuryf free he's the modern day danger field oh he just plays every week and play the Midfield up half they play him up half fourward one-onone contest he breaks through tackles his disposals inside 50s he's kicked inside 50s he's a great finisher you got to be a good finisher if you're a good finisher um that means that you're making the opposition pay full toad odds when you get the ball and that's that's that's the modern footy you know you want when you got Zack buts and Rose in that team you can't tag them all so it allows Jason to kind of run wild a bit more yeah so well there look it's a you've got a great team they finished second we're not going to talk about finals until next week but port at will never get a better chance than this year to win their second flag and Carlton will have the most hardest chance they've got a hard draw going into the head to the Grand Final look we're coming from eighth position we know you're coming and who knows it's a free hit hey it's a free hit we're going to play with house money I thought we were gone after the scene so we'll take it I'll embrace it when you follow Carlton and you don't play finals for 9 years in a row and languish in the bottom third and bottom four and even with Wooden Spoons you know what I'll take eighth spot it will be what will be hopefully Triple C will be back and Harry mine and a few others but um anyway we will talk about that next week and uh we have I've got this who are you really harming that you've been suspended I believe they should change the rule doesn't matter about best and fairest you're the best player of the year in my opinion you should win the award but I don't run AFL yeah and his suspension was because of a tackle sling tackle wasn't it like a bad sling tackle not like punch the guy in the head yeah they want to protect the head a few years ago they would have got away with that but this is the modern footy that we uh live in at the moment in this space I know here's a hat for you David oh blue bag of belli hat here's a hat for you been a good side especially at home um not many teams win away you know well you were out of the finals and P pulled you back in just what he thought you out they pulled you back in I'm very grateful
