have been able to have a look at them but let me tell you what we're dealing with on both sides of the ball as we're only 15 minutes away here from kickoff um for us let's do us first um Callum Burton the uh new backup in with Howard uh going to be on the bench so Callum getting his first I guess minute other than the efl cup uh so that's good for him to get in there it's sort of what we expected let's be honest not really a lot of surprises just a couple and I'll talk about where I think that they are hey weo from California and Jason yeah it's quit rubbing it in man it's CAU the clear one while we're all dealing with I think it might just be that camera because they swapped to the Rex end or is that the sulfer end no that's ad Aon this is the sulfur end and it's um it's a lot clearer on that end and anyway on the backline uh Lewis brunt in Bole in and Dan scar so there you go those are our three Defenders who haven't been playing the league competitions and were in there for the efl cup the only question I had was what Young Aaron James draw in for somebody uh he's on the bench Aaron James is so uh we'll come in I'm sure at some point in time um other than the three of those you've got now here's where it maybe get gets interesting in the normals position on the graphic Luke Bolton is up to be on the right side uh Jacob Mendy drawing in we'll get to see him for the first time all year because he didn't do the efl Cup game so he'll be on the left side the injury healing that's one more Soldier to the uh to the to the Infantry and way we go so good for for for him to be back and excited about that in the Midfield this is where it got interesting uh James Jones playing playing it looks like to be in the standard uh defensive role where doson would normally be and then Seb Revan the wing back draws into the middle of the pitch with Anthony Ford so we have four Wing backs on the pitch two of them playing in the Midfield that I found intriguing I thought and was was almost near certain to be fair that one either Harry Ashfield or the new sighting signing um Josh Adam and I'm gonna get his name Adam Josh I I'm gonna get his name backwards two first names until I get used to it anyways uh I thought he may be drawing in up front mof fall and Paul Mullen are going to be uh up front as far as the subs obviously how Howard's on the bench as uh for the backline korth is there with James Strikers you've got just Palmer to come in and then in the Midfield you've got WTH or Ashfield and then Barnett as a potential another Wing back our whole Wing back repertoire all five players listed either in the starting line up four of them or one uh as a sub so we're I guess mlan is the only one that's missing otherwise we could have had the entire wi back forest in full display ruie how are you Alex T nice to see you and Welsh techie you'll have to tell me if uh are you taking this one in uh at home because you guys will have the the feed there I'm assuming that's the case and so yeah it doesn't look as PEX related now I don't have to talk about I follow and all of the DRS and problems that have been arising as a consequence of them I saved I'm sure I saved the uh the Salford lineup and now I can't find it to pull it up so that means there it is um an interesting lineup for Salford let's be honest usually when you have these trophy games you end up doing two things you get young players to get a run out or you get players who haven't had a start uh they have one of their players has played all of their minutes so far in garbett 31 number 30 or sorry number 29 he's a 31y old and he'll be out there for this one uh in net they're going with young 17-year-old young young is Young and hey Jack of all trades nice to see you perky experimenting with these Wing back formations who knows what they're going to do SUB everybody over all over the place but yeah it's on Sky Sports in the UK I follow seems to be working Hallelujah uh and all is right uh young 17-year-old so he had minutes in the efl cup he's going to be uh getting the start for them uh I don't know exactly what their positions are so I'll just run down their age what intrigued me was a lot of veterans uh Watson 31 lond 33 Taylor 32 uh melany 32 and garbett 31 Shephard 29 those all the years of age so that's one two three four five six players over the age of 29 now not many of them have had minutes shephards these will has be his first minutes of the season um Garb he's got the opposite 360 minutes and then you've got the rest of them Melania 130 Taylor 105 lond 32 Watson 20 then after that you've got some young kids that are out there um I'm gonna pronounce it namay uh 150 minutes he's 20 years of age uh ngaga he's got he's 22 he's had 11 minutes kasasi he's got 20 he's 21 he's had 20 minutes and then austerfield he's 22 he's had 160 minutes so more minutes in their squad than minutes in ours obviously our back line as far these are League minutes by the way um brunt zero minutes Bole zero minutes scar zero minutes Bolton zero minutes Jones has had a cup of coffee revan's had about a 100 Ford hasn't had any minutes Mendy no minutes Mo fall no minutes and Paul Mullen uh has had I mean I can look it up it's on his sticker when it rolls through but I think he's up to 111 so should be interesting sford are going to get caught out car Neville going to be pissed today let's hope it's an interesting competition for me this trophy one so a couple things to keep in mind if this go is tied at the end of regulation it goes straight to Pedal kicks three points if you win in regulation two if you win on kicks one if you lose on kicks none if you lose in regulation um it's it's going to be a fascinating because the efl Trophy last year I had absolutely zero interest in it because we would have to play our our starters to be competitive now we're so deep that I don't really care it's not like the efl cup where there's not a lot of money in it you kind of have to play your starters to be competitive you know for the most part um the FA Cup you clearly put your best team out every time that's my take on it um and I think Parky usually goes with that but it's um it's a it's a different Beast this year because we're so deep I wouldn't mind a Deep Run on this thing if it's available for us so um we'll see how that all goes I know by the way if you're hearing me talking mostly more than Brendan that's largely because um it's a work day and so both he and I mashing things together to try and get everything all set up and he's uh doing his producer stuff in the background for this one um I wanted to bring up the table because we are the last game to get going uh for the trophy matches everybody else has already played one and some have played two so no other Bristol Street motor games I believe today W andg if he shows up can confirm that that's going on I haven't checked that that out and about but um we are Group B in the North Port vils already played two they're one in one sitting on five they had uh a penalty kick win over the wolver Hampton wanders they beat Salford City but two to nil so they're looking like they're already a team to advance I mean you'd have to get Salford City could be eliminate well I guess not eliminate yeah they if we win they'd be eliminated because we'd have three um and they'd have to beat us on goal differential so we'd have to see how that goes but Port Vil looking like they're already through we play them in the last match of the game which could be a dead rubber which is a Trophy match with a dead rubber would be a beautiful thing to have so I'd like to take the three points here I'd like to solidify our spot by topping wolver Hampton by Kicks or by regulation points and taking the three points such that you can go into that Port Veil reom game and really let the young kids run that's would be my preference but yeah let me know what your thoughts are let's take this in excited I'm excited to see Mall play uh the graphic is moving I still don't have Ruth the swamp that works so I guess I'm doing play byplay which is normally trophy is a trophy Wembley is Wembley and there's the perfect view last year though I was so focused on it was last year was a promotion or bus sort of year this year uh I will definitely take a promotion but I but if we're near the top of the table and we have a year of consolidation not the worst thing there's almost nothing in the trophy almost nothing and to be fair the trophy has protested by a lot of clubs uh a lot of clubs object to the notion of having under 21 teams into this competition they think it's more control Power flexing of the Premier League teams and they say it's there's a lot who have have an issue I thought dead rubber was the term that was used in the UK that's where I got it n is saying oh dead rubber doesn't translate well in the UK I've got that one wrong that's an adoption that I've taken so then I'd feel really awkward um the Birmingham video is is is on the go obviously everybody's looking forward to that Monday nighter Monday 800 PM over there so going to be an afternoon start for us I'm uh I'm stoked for that as I've started to go through the lineup and I've started to look at their their roster I've looked at their stats um it's a fascinating time to be playing a that team is they're looking to try and find some gel and we're coming in as a well oiled machine and so we'll look at it and so there's yeah there's the comment it doesn't make sense to involve the it's it is the u21s but I'm still with you um 2K that it's a feeder tournament for those systems I I mean for me the issue that I have is and and the reason why on a development perspective I'm okay with it is for those u21 players they don't get to draw in and get shown off for their skill and ability unless they're going to start playing against professionals and how many players I mean we've benefited already uh from a number of Premier League Academy signings that didn't make it with the big Squad and we're looking for a home and they fit nicely into a league one Squad and so but yes birmingham's going to be reported a sellout be a good one did everybody get their 396 from ifall I didn't Merman and the only reason I didn't and what I wish the club would have done or or E efl would have done is told us whose pocket that came from out of is that out of Rex's 80% take of their streaming or is that out of out of the efl's pocket because if it's efl's pocket then I'll take my 396 all day but Travis usually I do it on a Tuesday um obviously we're already on Tuesday I'm I will see if I can get to it tonight but I've got lots of other stuff going on usually it's Tuesday or Wednesday I get it out um I like to try and get it out in enough time that if somebody wants to do a response from the other side I'd like to be able to do that I dodged doing a response with Peter bro because I had zero interest in talking to them but the game hasn't started yet no the players aren't on the pitch yet uh the groundskeepers are out putting I don't know what you call them they're air rating that's it they're air rating the uh the grounds and the one word I was thinking about today as I was going I heard it on a podcast and I want to start incorporating into the broadcast more is pressurize because I remember the first time I heard my wife from new Yorkshire Ed the word pressurized and I said to what am I a gas like pressurized that doesn't make any sense I said that's not a word that's something you've made up they can't use that it's like aluminium and aluminum is that a is that a word that's been changed it's like football and soccer a word that's been changed and it just didn't cross the borders across the Atlantic but I guess in in the UK pressurized means pressure they're pressurizing us with the ball uh it just sounds funny to me I get it Merlin and everybody do their thing I'm I'm not going to worry about it on my end but it that doesn't mean that you shouldn't worry about it on yours go and get your money and that's a that's a poll question W andg uh what game do we want to watch on on uh on Saturday and I can put that up do we do do we do score predictions here it's always impossible what I find with trophy matches I mean I think that we should handle Salford city um their AB our B Squad I still think we should handle them easily but you know from playing Premier League teams in in friendlies which is this is kind of just slightly higher than a friendly that you never really know what happens this game not on Paramount plus not on Paramount Plus in the US uh it's I follow only every if we make the semi-finals or the finals it'll be on Paramount plus but other than that no options no success no love there I'm getting text messages coming [Music] in interesting we've got things cooking and developing all over the place keep pushing up pressurizing yes that I I need to incorporate that more just because a I also insulted my wife for using it and now I have to make incorporate it because that' just be the right thing to do is the Trophy match if you would have told me that that would have happened last year and given me Vegas odds uh I would have taken pretty much any odds that that wasn't going to stand up did you say fall is on the bench no fall is fall is a starter he's out there it'll be Mullen and fall up front I just don't know for certain who's going to be on the wing backs according to the graphic it looks like it'll be Mendy on the left and uh Bolton on the right and it'll be Ren and forward in the middle but we will see what happens if those two just absolutely eviscerate Salford you know yeah well the the amazing problem that that uh Parky could have after this one is what happens if re and uh and uh um forward look really really good in the Midfield do they start to get a look who scores the first goal let's put that one up John always has the best poll ideas so man uh I've gotta go I've got to just do a thing here yeah and it said up it looks like to me yes it's Mendy on the one side and it's going to be Bolton on the other so it is as we anticipated from the graphic and I've got to go to the poll here poll start a poll who scores the first reom goal uh we got to go with fall Mullen up front obvious is the obvious options who are the other options uh we go with two attacking forwards Jones or Ford I don't think I would put those two up there as legitimate options let's put Ren as one and let's put uh Bolton on the other let's put Bolton on the other so Mark just telling us and it's nice to have griffi without the audio in my ears everything seems to be working that they've only put five Subs up in um and all of their subs are are are first team players for them so I'm GNA go work in the background I'm going to leave it to you um Good Luck I will jump in later perfect um the players austerfield in the back line going to draw it all the way back over to the left and we're waiting on the players to get loaded up and we don't have that as of yet so I'm going to go with this graphic as we figure everything out live and brunt on the right steals the ball gets it on up and it's chipped over the top for Mullen to go and Chase and early in the Box 18 is he able to have a battle they're scrambling and it's just going to get kicked out but just for the coring it's going to get stopped massive scramble in the back Mullen putting the pressure on not able to secure it it goes out a little bit of a high line and scars able Toof clear that one under pressure from nay who was buzzing up and causing him difficulty the the stream is clear everything's okay cross your fingers lad might be okay for one the nice thing about the the trophy is that you do have to have roster players but if any of them have played I think it's more than 40 games in the league in the efl then they qualify and so with brunt and with Scar and with Mullen obviously and Bo uh we easily qualify with the lineup even though they're not in so that's why part part of the rules benefit us I am not on a beer Brandon is I'm doing the Dr Peppers I think he's on a on a on a pop as well that sounded more pop than be than than than booze but John S he thought in that challenge up front moles might have tweaked his back we'll have a look as Burton waits to get us under restart two minutes 15 seconds click right there Bolton first touch looked for got it from Fall Bolton draws it back and uh Australia Salford with it switches on Drawn over to is that garbet on the left hand side it is garbet puts it through and it's intercepted and way we go the other way it's in it's Ford tried to get it to fall got got clicked out by garbett so garbett their experienced man is on the right side so you'd expect it a if you're looking for a weaker side to go down you'd expect it to be the left so far everything down the right is Dr Pepper the safer soda yes and Cassis here how are you Bolton with the throw in got knocked out going to do it again three minutes and 35 seconds coming up on the clock and there it is Bolton has an opportunity Inside the Box Ford tried to push it through and it deflected he's wasn't able to get there sford clears it scar heads it forward and salford's going to try to settle it down in the Midfield and they're able to do that Nay with it down the left on a feed from kaasi and it's cleared by brunt is it going to stay in it does and Garb it settles it down nicely and away we go if rexim gets a clean sheet just Dan scar get zero minutes this year I mean that would be a wonderful problem to have Jones slipped and they're gonna go the other way they bypass him that's Watson able to put the burners on and get it over to London on the right hand side but he takes the ball out the flat goes up and nothing come coming of it scrambly early on and I think you'd expect that because both sides with players who are just playing together in in uh in training not really getting a chance to run it together boil with hair always a beautiful thing to see expect a physical game from him back to Young is he 17 did I get the numbers wrong because he doesn't look 17 somebody might want to check Mr Young of Salford City osterfield sweeps over Shepard now well down done forward in the middle of the pitch he's going to give it to brunt who's going to move it forward we're still on our side of half looking nice pass forward up to Mullen who CS it to Bolton draws it back to brunt scar all the way back and Scar is now going to go over the top no he's not he's going to find Bolton who heads it but Mullen was offside and doesn't go and Chase that and it's going to be left alone Aruba's playing home games in Puerto Rico do they normally do that 29% 29% possession so it's an easy win the B Squad I'll never insult you John but you will baffle me my scor gorgeous left foot I'm just gonna plop it in the top left corner and too easy he could have walked up and just like thrown it into the corner of the net it just looked like it was that simple that simple and he puts the Deadpool Mask over his head in Celebration oh man the props are you to have props on the pitch for celebrations that that's not gonna eat a yellow card is it top bin says the experienced Defender gave Mullen way too much space on that he had the to come out and challenge he didn't and the keepers just watches that he was spectating spectating what injury we've got Mullen get in there glorious stuff on a one nil lead and this is exactly what you wanted to see is is Mullen getting himself under him getting his feet under himself he's had a long 35 yard Ranger good I'm I'm brunt I agree with you out of everybody on the on the team uh he looked the most disconnected I was impressed by Jones who looked good in that defensive role um do I think he's better than than well certainly not Dobson but Evans as a backup there probably not but he I have to give him credit for it Revan playing out of position I don't think he had himself a good first half but it it's a Scramble game you look at the stats 11 shots One on One On Target for Salford City us two shots One On Target but we're we're ahead um you look at The Possession we're comfortably in the mid-30s again it this has become our identity and it's fascinating because you watch and you listen to other podcasts and they say some point in time the metrics are going to catch up to us you can't give away that much possession and not shoot our our efficiency can't stay at the level that it's at forever and once we lose out on the efficiency our wins turn to draws and losses and we fall off I've seen no sign of that even from our B Squad here um are you concerned at all about our Effectiveness our efficiency declining such that we end up not being able to pot enough goals I am um although the fact I by the way I put up on the screen our outfits so that they get the full thing they're just seeing the top so I I gave the uh the uh feed from your um the red hord account on on X good stuff um yeah so yeah I am like that's one of the reasons I think John wants Mullen back in right it's not that he's unhappy with the result it's just going forward you know you don't want to run into a game where you need some Mullen magic and he's on the bench and Marriott uh isn't able to get you that extra what I would say is the most promising thing is not that there's one guy that's super hot but that everybody the whole team seems to be passing very well everyone it it's as if they know ahead of time like there's a lot of one touches the guys the ball used to get passed around and stick and now it's like it's almost like they expect okay the ball's going to go inside then it's quickly going to go out to the wing then that's going to get crossed and they seem to be staggering their runs so that they're not all in the same place so it gives them some options everything seems more coordinated uh everyone seems more comfortable the fact that everyone's on board and anyone could score I think makes it more difficult for a team to like beat up on Mullen or focus in one spot so you know I think we can continue to keep scoring but um yeah I I worry and and and that's why I think you got to get Mullen back in there at some point because he he can he's he's best to overcome that all by himself right I'm uh I'm gonna run to your defense here Jon says Brendan just doesn't like brentt he wasn't that bad um I I think Brent was that bad and I and I say that for two reasons um I'm okay with the odd Miss played we're human everybody has them he's he's consistently too high in his line that it's it's not straight and he puts himself into positions with people who were able to get behind him um and then the second issue that I had was and it happened on two occasions one was more egregious than the other where he has an opportunity to make a clearance or make a pass or make a play as a center back and if you if if if you have no other options get it the hell out of there just smash it down the field and he's given the ball away thinking he could get a pass to somebody and close and then misses the pass and it's just creating those dangerous opportunities out of misplays are no goes to me and so I'm I'm not impressed I hope he I do think he has it I recall him I mean other than him being the player who was nutmegged uh on that goal against Mansfield that uh gave us the win uh I and and he probably should have been able to clear it to be fair uh last season I I remember being impressed by him and so I still think he has it but it it hasn't been working and maybe it's because he's on that right side and he's being asked to do something completely different than where he's comfortable I don't know but we'll see what ends up happening uh there John says a healthy Mullen starts can't stay on the bench no way no how I don't agree but um we'll see what Parky does I'm curious to see I think that Parky will leave Mullen on the bench um because I think Parky goes for what's working consistent ly when it's working for him and will only change when it becomes necessary to change either by injury or there's been some poor results if we're pulling results um and and maybe that Birmingham match is is the key to it maybe the Birmingham match we don't end up winning and he says well I gave you Mar at the chance dur in the Birmingham match he didn't didn't pot one so I'm gonna go back to Mullen for the Crawley Town one that that comes after it we shall see I've I'm going to give four options for the 7 o'clock in the morning game uh Pacific time 10:00 Eastern uh 3:00 on Saturday to see what you guys are interested in I've I've gone with four options and and part of them are like I don't want to do Crawley town and Stockport saw them all last year largely know who they are um some of them have teams that I'm interested to see that played teams that we've already played some of them are teams we just haven't seen already and I'm curious what you guys say so uh stepen Ag and barnesley just because we haven't seen either of those two squads and I'd be curious largely to see barnesley away and see how they do uh Bolton and huttersfield I've seen we've seen both teams um but it's it's a good game and so to me huttersfield looked horrible against rotheram uh Bolton struggling out of the gates a little bit uh i' I'd be interested to see how they're ticking along the the one that probably interests me maybe more than most is Blackpool and exer to City because it's kind of a middleof the table uh competition who do you who are they and what's the what's their role and then the last one Peterboro and Lincoln City if somebody else has another game that you think would be very interested interesting to watch for some reason then by all means throw it out there otherwise I'll put those ones out there just looking at the stats there that go through um lots of clearances for US 20 clearances to four 13 aerial duels W 57 to 43 um the passing accuracy is Kim identified we're not passing as well that number at 66% Mullen isn't going to start but but I I I think that I think we're saying the same things here unless Marriott goes on a tear with Burmingham and then all of a sudden we've got Mullen who uh is is GNA have to be comfortable in his uh coming out late role uh if marot on fire in pots three okay with the expensive tickets because it's not a regular thing it's a special thing so to think that you'd be regular you you'd have the luxury of being able to go to so many games um and now you'd be priced out of that um you know as someone who I feel like you're already spoiled right you know um but but they're not looking at it like that that's what they're used to um I just think though that they they got to accept the fact that the the price of tickets is going to keep going up as we go up in leagues and to be able to afford the the going up in leagues and better players and stuff the the prices are going to have to go up um I just think they don't like the whole fan Zone thing and feel like obliged to go to that if they could save money they'd rather not so I I understand what they're not used to paying 30 quid to go to a a football match whether it's got um food options and live music or not and so who does it attract it attracts the Internationals who are over there for an experience who can get you know that whole that whole thing so I'm I'm sort of torn by but I'm hoping at some point in time they get to the position where they've got they're not selling out every game and people are able to go and not have to miss out and they've got more Hospitality things because I like the idea of being able to go and just enjoy the game and get out for all of the glory that is football and I'm also okay with people going in a little bit early and getting their uh oh Revan able to Nick that ball and now we've got three on can he get it across to Mullen it's too late better experience for some people who want it and and for all of that I don't think it deserves to be critic I mean you can criticize anything you want I just don't think it holds any water you're aru for that because you know there's plenty of seats for people to get a shot at that are in that that that are extra and you know if you don't get it then don't pay the extra like I and and and get in Cannon type midfielder that's got the capacity to to follow up and score but really it's his touch of the ball and his ability to control and read what's around him and I think you saw that today with that play that he made out to Revan where he ran all the way back into the middle of the pitch and said give me the ball I'm going to do this took the ball turned around had a scale of where it was at him and put a perfect pass out on the left side to to Revan and that's just sort of where he's at he did I mean that opportunity he had in in in in the goal there great little box out of a Defender who's a hell of a lot bigger than he was and uh and did the right thing to sweep low and try to cut that one in just wasn't able to right so um certainly in the mix in any event uh I gotta wrap it up
