ladies and gentlemen welcome in to another edition of the AFC North round table it's official folks we are less than one week till kickoff and you know we can't enter into the regular season without making our predictions and that's exactly what we're going to do tonight your fa your four favorite hosts around the AFC North are going to rank out one through four how they think the AFC North is going to pan out this season including record predictions for all four the question is will bias be left aside will bias be mixed in we are about to find out so let's bring him in right now starting off with the Cleveland Browns representation Chef Z Chef you're ready to put him in order I got a feeling the Browns who might be a little bit higher than the rest of the the Gang has it but I could be guessing plus 500 compliments to the odds at bet J uh bet us I don't know what the disrespect is but they gonna learn today we are dying to see what you have for us we're also dying to see what Mark representing the Steelers has for us as well Mark you ready to rank them out the same $10 you put on you know the Bengals or Ravens put on the Steelers makes you more money I'm good to go I think if you put 10 on the Steelers you can buy beachfront property in Palm Beach we good if you put 10 bucks on this team though not going to get you a whole heck of a lot but it could be a solid bet and that's the Baltimore r Ravens Bobby Baltimore you ready to rank him out I think so this is uh what was it 88 years in the making I think last year all four teams 500 are better see if that happens again I'll let you know what I thinking coming up is that really true that was 88 years for for wow that's insane we are the best division aren't we dead said we're the best division in the in the NFL yeah competition's uh certainly stiff and it's only going to get harder with Joe burrow back in the fold Zim with the Cincinnati bank you ready to rock I'm ready let's get into it once again all four of your favorite panel members are going to rank out their top four teams how they think it's going to pan out this season in the AFC North before we dive into it quick reminder this episode of course this could be the best division in football it is incredibly competitive last year all teams above 500 very easily could do it again this year you would believe improvements all around for the most part especially with Cincinnati G to be very interesting so we're going to kick it off with a team that just named a new starting quarterback how is that going to look for these Pittsburgh Steelers how is it going to affect where they land on this hierarchy let's see what Mark has to say as we bring up his list and oh boy oh let's go he does it uh that's not a typ by the way it's a real thing Mark 11 and six you got the Steelers at number one 11 and six tied with the Ravens you have everybody almost within a game of each other here so the one thing that you didn't neglect was the competitiveness talk me through how you got Pittsburgh winning this division yeah I really wanted to make all three teams two and two and freaking 15 but I couldn't do it for the seriousness of the channel uh look I understand that we are definitely the underdog and we we the Steelers of the fourth place and uh you know that narrative from from your guys like I would Dead Set entertain from Z or Bobby or Zim whoever may be and say Steelers should be fourth I fully fully understand that however we have Mike tomman and Mike tomman can get us to nine wins Mike tomman can get us to 10 wins so I think we have a better team on defense last year uh sorry this year the last year yeah we have a different uh quarterback but I think we have uh the running back I feel like going to go off with Warren when he's healthy and NJ will go off uh I think Wilson's going to have a pretty good year depending how how Fields does walk into it and it's going to be a very very tough division now I think my Steelers are going to be 11 and six I'm just kind of hoping at the same time that you guys are 11 10 and nine so I had to put everyone everyone kind of together um but in reality man like the the Steelers have a really good divisional record against you guys over the past few years like 19 10 11 or something in the last five uh last year was was 5- one so we can go toe-to-toe with the guys in the division but can the Steelers can they beat the other teams outside the division we need a real strong start that in terms of the first eight games go six and two or 5-2 but I fully respect that you guys will put me on the four I think every single one of you will put me on number four that's for sure um but in terms of being competitive Mike tomman I think is going to get this team ready rocked and rolling and and he had a hard we had Kenny picket trabis had trabis last year Kenny picket and Mason Rudolph got us to 10 wins so Russell Wilson can play good football run the rock play action pass uh get it to M get it to Pickin and our defense is much better this year than last year I think we'll be around 1011 I'm just hoping that you guys can lose one or two key games and and first of all that would be the Chiefs are going to beat the bre Ravens straight up not only in this scenario you have do the Steelers have to go 11 and six to win it but you also are relying on a downfall from the Ravens and an implied downfall from a better B with Joe burrow walk me through how you see that unfolding because not only would the Steelers have to deliver the other two that's not even mentioning the Browns I mean we have two playoff teams in the Ravens and the Browns from last year so outside of the Steelers getting that top spot on their own how do you see these other three teams kind of falling off the mark a bit here well with the Ravens understand that they play you know we play them tremendously well uh 7 on1 over the last you know few years and of course there's been injuries that kind of stuff too uh I think even Bobby has alluded to before in the other few shows who's their backup quarterback if Lamar Jackson goes down I don't I don't want players to go down don't get me wrong I'm not like that kind of person no way we want the toughest competitors out there however if he does go down what's their backup plan for for their quarterback right um and obviously we are I think I think out division is one of the I think out division is vering some of the toughest teams you know uh we definitely are the Steels are versing the I think we're the 32 toughest of uh teams right but I'm I'm just kind of it's more hopium than anything else and I'm wearing my bias at I do think the Steelers can make 11 wins I'm just hoping that this year that we kind of you know Ravens beat the Bengals Bengals beat the Ravens Browns beat the Ravens or vice versa therefore we're all around the same Edge and around week 17 or week 18 uh when I go to Steelers versus Chiefs I'm just hoping that we can win that game and be one step closer to winning the division but yeah I am hoping for a bit of a downfall from the Ravens in terms of quarterback play or just you know a misfield goal or look these teams are very competitive I'm not getting it wrong um Ravens are up there for sure Ravens won it last year uh the Bengals were fourth and they were n and eight everyone's plus you know 500 they're Mike Toman record I really am just hoping for that that that's like I said to Zim the other day that Super Bowl window does scare me a bit I canot stand out of all the teams I can't stand the Bengals the most and if they were to win one I know I know that the chat would just come to my channel hello welcome to Steel Nation Australia come to my channel and every day put comments in there I know people would do that so they have the window yeah you guys I can't cool you're cool Zim I cannot stand the Bangals I've been hating them since hman Zada wiped that terrible Taw on his feet you don't know how much that Wars my heart to hear that bro I appreciate they're my most most hated team even being from Australia right uh uh even when vontes B and all those guys cannot stand Pacman Jones that was where my hat hatred started um but yes they are definitely going to be around there I'm more intrigued now to see what you guys have because I know I'm fourth like I know I'm fourth for sure for every you never know you're damn right Mark right damn right you're for Mark the team you have forth is zay's Browns before we even show your list Z talk me through your thoughts on where marks got your Browns finishing at the end of the year here the disrespect man like I you know hey it's his list I knew he was going to do some outlandish stuff especially with his receiver list and then you know he was on our p on our Round Table just uh a few days ago when uh he he talking about oh the receivers this we got to get death I mean he's already backtracking so you know it's Ty a little bit it's typical Steelers fans hating on the Browns which is why you're gonna see them at the bottom of my list too I got a feeling you're going to avenge your Browns how far are you going to go with the avenging let's take a look at your list and boy seven look top of this division one turn back and I'll be quiet we took over the world if this happens we've never we the last time we came uh last in the division was 1988 before I was born hey that's what the law of average y'all do to relive your child say this is wild this ends up coming fruition this could be one of the greatest battles in division in NFL history the way you have it brown won 13 and4 tied with Baltimore and then a 12- five with Cincy walk me through how you got to this so you know you on past shows I've talked about I'm just going to throw it out there and I'm going to go bold I said we would all go 11 and six and then as I was going through the schedules and looking at it I couldn't find six wins for the Ravens or six lose losses for the Ravens I really couldn't see six Los loses for the Bengals um especially with their schedule being semi easy and I I really couldn't find six losses for the Browns so I was I I I was like okay let me take a little bias out let me get out of my prediction and I came up with the you know this Browns and Ravens will tie somehow and and that'll be our taint on winning the division you had to tie to win it you couldn't win it outright um I think the Bengals they still get better they got Joe burrow back but the Steelers it's time for them to just go into the darkness where you guys are slowly walk this happens this will be the first because this will be the first time you guys win the division right AFC North and it'll be the first time in a very long time 36 years by the way my whole existence before I was even born seven I guess it was really easy for you to get down 10 losses R for me um I I don't want to say it was easy because like you know I mean anybody who's followed me know that I give respect where respect is due uh Les I don't I don't like to be crazy in a sense I the Steelers organization has been for as long as I've been alive they pretty much have done everything right you know when it's all said and done we thought they were going to be eight and n and seven and 10 two years ago right the first year Ben rothberger was gone and you guys make the playoffs so I will never completely disrespect you guys which is why I gave you seven because uh you know that's just that's just the type of guy that I am right right I like how you said no bias and then go 13 and four that's crazy I mean listen everybody just hates us because of the situation there's no way it don't did the did the Rams ever go 13-4 after going how whatever they went before they went to the Super Bowl you guys run two win uh two games the season before you went to the Super Bowl like things happen and it's the Browns turn we can be the team that be like dang there ain't no way they won 13 games this year it's us it's let us have our turn but it's not that you're just having your turn here everybody's having their turn I mean I mean but no that's how good this division is though which is I I fully believe that this is going to be one of those things where we are watching the scoreboard every single week it's going to be oh man this team lost two games in a row did they take themselves out of position I think we're going to see the best division in football happen this year so I'm I'm all in on it man call me crazy if you want see me at week 17 I also feel like there's an implication here that this is essentially going into the playoffs this will look like the Super Bowl favorite will essentially it will come down to somebody in this division based on what not saying I'm sure you want the Browns but regardless you feel like the Super Bowl representation in the AFC is coming out of the AFC North I mean you can never count on Patrick Mahomes right that that would be idiotic but I think the AFC North has tremendous odds for someone to get in there and and you look at this the end of the week I mean it's not crazy to sit here and look at this because the last game of the season is all going to be seating and implication on where who's going to be bumped in who's going to just miss out the Steelers are taking on the Bengals and then they have the Chiefs and they have I mean the last three games for the Steelers Ravens Chiefs Bengals that's crazy right so the and then the last three games for the Bengals Steelers Browns and Broncos so two AFC North opponents and then the Ravens obviously they have the Texans Steelers Browns for the last three games so this is going to we're going to be this last three weeks into that man it's going to be wild in the AFC North very little margin for eror I was not aware of the ending there for you mark my good God that is that's a hell of a way to send it into the postseason um but at least it would be entertaining those were a ton of good games right there as we say in austral she'll be rough mate no worries Z this is gonna be tough to top I'm dying to see a second place finish to the Browns I don't know if they'd sign up so quickly let's see where you have your Baltimore Ravens sitting in 2024 wow I'll tell you this right off the bat guys everyone so far has this being tooth and nail you have it a little more modest as far as the wins are concerned Bobby but Baltimore's still winning it walk me through how you got there I guess I gave Mark a little bit more love than Z did huh at the top at the bottom there with Pittsburgh having nine wins instead of seven you're welcome mark look you know the Ravens have a first place schedule they are extremely front-loaded in terms of degree of difficulty with an onslaught within the first month they're playing the the the the chiefs of course on opening night as we all know they're I'm not going to count the Raiders in terms of the degree of difficulty they don't even know who their quarterback is I know they have they have their quarterback but they don't necessarily feel confid in who they have there in Vegas uh they're in a period of of transition I would say they're playing Dallas they're playing uh buffalo zbot on Sunday Night Football in Baltimore at the bank should be a great night they got Cincinnati within that opening month so uh I understand that this will be a battle tested division we all get that we all know like I mentioned earlier on that for the first time in 88 years this was the first division in which all four teams were above five 00 last year and I think that's going to happen in back-to-back seasons based on this prediction obviously I have Baltimore 11- six Cincinnati 10- seven and both Cleveland and Pittsburgh at nine and8 from the from the bottom to the top Mark I I just have questions in terms of if we all feel like there's going to be both quarterbacks can it really be a consistent season can it really be a playoff bound season I don't think so I think they're going to be really competitive and I think they're going to ultimately in those waning weeks be some of the deciding factors in terms of who makes it to the postseason I could see them playing spoiler uh Cleveland I need to make I need to ensure Z that that Deshawn's gonna be healthy that he's gonna have a full full-blown successful season and he's going to be available because we all we all know what they had to to to lean on in order to get to the playoffs last year with Joe flacko and I think it's going to be neck and neck between Cincinnati and Baltimore Zim we we'll have a chance to see it twice of course uh once at your place once in Baltimore uh but I think the Ravens sneak it out here at 11 and six Cincinnati Finds Its way into the division and uh and Cleveland and Pittsburgh fighting for another day coming off the the 24 season what I find amazing about this is it seems the general sentiment will be the Steelers finish last but the truest Testament to the competitiveness of this division even though you have them last and it seems like it's the easy pick you still have him within two games of first place that just goes to show how tough this division truly is and how tough it will be for whoever winds up winning it to get to that point so Bobby uh has Baltimore taken it by a game over Cincinnati and speaking of Cincinnati let's take a look at what Zim has on the radar and there it is Bengals topping it up 12 and five Ravens shortly behind Browns in third and then a losing record for the Pittsburgh Steelers that would be the first ever in Mike tomlin's career have you heard that stat before Zim walk me through it how did you get to what you got to here I can tell you this I'm very superstitious I hated doing this I do not like record predictions at all I never do them so shout out to the AFC North round table and making sure that they made me do this so um I just want to say like I just look at it from a different perspective when I look at a lot of different things just like everybody else probably looks at it from a different perspective I watched the Bengals in the last couple years the 2021 Super Bowl team wasn't that good but the the season like after like that team just got hot you know they they found a rhythm all these different things defense played really well the 2022 season which it it ended in 2023 which is probably one of the best Bengals teams I've ever seen so a lot of times people will say yeah you just had one year in the 2022 season that ended in 20123 not even a year ago or just a year ago the Bengals were on a 10 game win streak where they were pulverizing teams and the only thing that I remember at the end is that they had three backup offense alignment and they lose at the at the at the the buzzer to go to backto back for a chance to go to backtack Super Bowls they pushed Patrick Mahomes out of bounds or whatever they lose by three but they played that game with three backup offensive lineman and that team also had a game where they were beating the crap out of the bills and when they were beating that team and then the Demar Hamlin situation happened that team almost won 13 games just off that just that game right there the opening day on that one when we play marks team they missed a a game-winning extra point at the end of regulation there's an argument in most B from our perspective we look at that season like we should have won 14 games not 12 so that was just a year ago the Bengals had the fourth best odds as we've learned through bet USA to I mean I'm sorry bet us we've learned they have the fourth best Super Bowl in the National Football League the Bengals I think this is very fair when I say this if Joe burrow plays this is what it would look like to me when I look at the Ravens I feel like they are the strongest roster the strongest team but I cannot say this enough losing your secondary coach losing your defensive line coach losing your offensive line coach is well rest in peace to him in losing all these different pieces they all are small details that a lot of people like sweep under rug but those are important pieces when you're trying to have cohesion and move forward and I think and I said that on that other show last year I considered that a super team the Ravens were the best team in football they just didn't win the Super Bowl and so people don't look at them like that but I think that it's hard to emulate that year back to back like it's just very tough to do that and just so you all know the Browns had the number one strength of schedule in the National Football League the Baltimore Ravens had the second the Steelers have the third toughest schedule in the National Football League the Bengals don't they're playing fourth place schedule on top of that when I look at the Browns I'm looking at the quarterback situation it's still a situation and then I look at different things like small details like Nick chub starting off on short-term IR coming back how does that look like do we really believe in Jerome Ford Denzel Ward coming back off a concussion protocol what does that look like the Michael Hall situation d small little details they come back later on and then people give us contacts when I go to the Steelers or I mean and that's just how I look at the whole thing it's not to say that those teams aren't as good I just think that those small details just like I pointed out the Bengals defensive line they start to rear their head when other guys go down or games don't go your way or different things like that those are the things where the Bengals are literally bringing back everybody and every single portion of their team is built off of Zack Taylor's Playbook and all all the people that have been there and when Joe burrow is there he doesn't lose often Zim you got the Ravens as a wild card team yes absolutely I'll just say this guys I think this is a very fair prediction I'm just gonna say this it's a very fair prediction Zim I I will give you that uh there there is no it's no joke and it shouldn't be swept under the rug that when you are a fourth place team because your quarterback goes down while it's heartbreaking obviously like it was last year there can be a fun like eight plus months down the line actually like hey here you go moment where their schedule is significantly perhaps looser is is the right word than the other three teams and like you said um strength is schedule elsewhere outside of Cincinnati in this division is no joke so um the degree of difficulty should not be uh overstated can I can I say oh noad go ahead La last year the Bengals did end up 9 and8 the Bengals played the hardest SCH in the last 24 years of football they played 11 playoff teams thanks to partially you guys but they play 11 uh playoff teams the hardest schedu in the last 24 years of football and without their quarterback they were nine and eight you know I'll say this one oh go ahead Browning's sorry Z I mean Browning's one of the Browning sucks more capable one of the more capable primary backups though he sucks I mean y'all were calling him a system quarterback he had y' at nine win I was hearing Jake Bron was the future yeah he sucks but no I think the schedule is the the Bengals biggest thing is you know they're getting joe burrow back but it's the schedule they they got a very very beneficial you know like he said what is it the fourth least toughest or something like that for that simple fact you mix that with Joe burrow coming back but here's the thing as I'm looking at your guys' schedule I will say this we go into every season with these expectations with these teams and there's and we always look at at the end of the year and be like dang we did not see this happening and this happening your schedule could be easy now but looking at it let's just play this if game right I'm looking at the back into of your schedule you end it with the Steelers let's just say Bo Knicks gets the whole season through Denver could not be as easy as you once thought it might be just because it's later into the year if they find that Groove the Browns you already know what time that is if Will Levis is anything like people are trying to claim that he can be that Tennessee game isn't going to be as easy as you think it is especially being in Tennessee Dallas s uh Steelers and then that Chargers team is the is the kicker there because if the Chargers can figure it out with Herbert and and Harbaugh I mean your schedule comes from being one of the easiest to having a gauntlet the last six weeks of the year I agree with you you never know how this is gonna play out but out of all those teams you just named you only named one playoff team no I and that's what I say we're sitting here now saying this is the case but if those teams pan out the way you know like every season there's always that that question what happens it could be we could be sitting here talking about it being different absolutely to me the ultimate takeaway here though is that point you made Zim that we were just talking about I mean in a year where you know not just this year but the way it's planning to be for the foreseeable future as competitive as this division is the benefit of having Joe burrow go down last year and having kind of a season you throw away is the fact that you get to go into this year with a schedule at least right now on paper that is much easier than the rest and when you look across not just this division but the AFC in in its entirety any small Advantage you can have is more than likely going to make a difference it's a really good point and it'll be interesting to see if that helps Propel the Bengals further than maybe they would have had they had a first place schedule if Joe burrow doesn't go down last year let's do a quick recap about what we saw tonight from all four of you gentlemen in terms of these rankings we'll go back to Mark Steelers number one one at 11-6 tied with the Ravens Bengals at 10- seven Browns coming in last Z had the this is my favorite one by the way this is the favorite one I've seen out of all these that we've done thus far 13 and four for the Browns tied with the Ravens at 13- four [ __ ] angles 12 and five's first ever losing season I am rooting for this massively this would be historic they would do a 30 for 30 on this Division if it wed up W up going in this direction and make sure you lock in the round table for that for the segments you need for the b-roll 100% I will say Mark like you know I what you said it made me feel good because I watched your team kick my ass for 20 plus years like so you've been at the bottom it's it's just the laws of like the worldly like it's it's not crazy it's your turn it's your turn to live the life that I live through like that does it's in my fandom of of like some 20 something years there's only been one game that I've ever watched oh no sorry with Mike tommen where we've been out of the playoffs so that would be crazy it can happen it can be a downfall for the Steelers that's for sure we're going through a bit of a rebuild retooling era after Big Ben so uh the Browns would would be be crazy for them to win but that' be their first time be our last time that'd be a big shift in the polls but you never know it's such a different League now that quarterback position is just so so I've seen rosters like like you pointed out your defense I think your defense there's an argument that's better than mine right but the the weight of a quarterback is just so heavy so you gotta see quarterbacks win games right your defense is good but your quarterbacks you got to go and score points we cannot with the last few years we can't score points we're scoring out of 20 points a game it does feel like we've been watching a 180 kind of unfold the Patriots maybe maybe the worst team in the league right now the Giants two-time Super Bowl championship as we were growing up maybe they're down there as one of of the worst the Steelers aren't nearly what they used to be then you got teams like Cincinnati Kansas City Buffalo teams that were mediocre or Worse towards the top like you said Zim it just seems to be the law nature and it's been funny to watch it all unfold and really it was the transition in quarterback right Payton Manning gone Tom Brady gone and this new generation in burrow Allan Mahomes Lamar wild rothberger of course gone and when you can't replace the guy you see what ends up happening going to Z back to zims to see what he had like Bobby said I really love the transparency within this uh this ranking here because I could see this panning out with the Bengals having the schedule that they do with Baltimore you know coming in right behind but you know with the schedule that they have still having 10 wins should be right in the mix for a playoff spot with that Browns right behind Steelers in last place and then Bobby similar to your Zim where it's it's really just a dog fight plenty of losses for all teams and it's going to be a struggle towards the end to see who comes out on top Bobby's got Baltimore 11- six Bangals 10 and seven Browns n and eight Steelers n and eight now this is another really interesting one to me because once again Bobby like you guys talked about earlier nearly a century without having all these teams have a 500 record or better to repeat that again in back-to-back years would be wild but these teams the way it's shaping up it wouldn't stun anybody so very interesting and the best part of all this fellas with the predictions now in the books the preseason in the books the next time we join each other we will be previewing the games that will ultimately end up determining these outcomes you just predicted we cannot wait to get together for it can't wait to have you talk to me Zea how much do you want me to punch up on those Patriots for you week one you like like how I want the Chiefs to punch up on those Ravens you Zim it's funny uh on a dime like it's almost like I feel bad I almost feel bad for New England at this point it's crazy how you feel bad for them it's insane how it happens like the 180 that happens between the hatred for the Patriots being above anything maybe that you know on planet Earth to then transitioning to the Chiefs and now the Patriots are are such a charitable franchise you don't even know what to make of it so I'm not telling you not to beat up on him but I'd much rather you take care of the top of the AFC for me if you could and you know the Patriots whatever but at the end of the day this division it's surely going to be a hell of a ride this year and we can't wait to kick it off next year previewing or next week rather previewing this year so we will see you
